Music Preference: Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran, Rihanna, Plan B, James Bay, Taylor Swift, Adele, Jessie J Katy Perry
and The Vamps.
Likely to wear: Skinny and baggy jeans with/ baggy tops, hoodies, trainers and parker coats
Likely to shop: Topshop/ Topman, Riverisland, JD sports, vintage shops, Zara, Primark and New look
I conducted a series of research methods such as questionnaires and interviews to get inspiration from my
target audience. I had asked people above the age of sixteen to gather information about their interests,
fears, aspirations, what type of music they enjoy and what they expect out of a music video.
I asked the people at my own sixth form, the public when out shopping and people of higher education
when attending university openings, I felt this was appropriate because I’m applying for media courses.
Therefore a media student will be honest and will be able to give in depth answers and more willing to take
part in my questionnaire.

Demographics and Psychographics/ Ways of finding information Age: 16-25 Gender: Female and Male Class: All Classes Religion: Any religion Education: Secondary school, Sixth form and University Music Preference: Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran, Rihanna, Plan B, James Bay, Taylor Swift, Adele, Jessie J Katy Perry and The Vamps. Likely to wear: Skinny and baggy jeans with/ baggy tops, hoodies, trainers and parker coats Likely to shop: Topshop/ Topman, Riverisland, JD sports, vintage shops, Zara, Primark and New look I conducted a series of research methods such as questionnaires and interviews to get inspiration from my target audience. I had asked people above the age of sixteen to gather information about their interests, fears, aspirations, what type of music they enjoy and what they expect out of a music video. I asked the people at my own sixth form, the public when out shopping and people of higher education when attending university openings, I felt this was appropriate because I’m applying for media courses. Therefore a media student will be honest and will be able to give in depth answers and more willing to take part in my questionnaire.

EXAMPLES: MALE I shop at Topman I attend concerts I meet with my friends all the time I’m not to sure on what I want to do in the future Fashion is a huge part in my life I’m 19 years old Currently on a gap year because I need to find myself Struggled in school Interested in the unknown Never fit in when in large groups Socially awkward I can count my friends on one hand, but we have a close bond Family are important to me as they are my biggest supporters I am working class citizen I love fast beat songs that can heighten a crowed I listen to music to relieve stress I can playa guitar I feel most comfortable when wearing jeans and a t-shirt I work at a bar that has live music every night I like buying merchandise I love high marketed fashion

EXAMPLE: FEMALE I’m a laid back individual I’m easy going I feel most comfortable when in baggy jeans and bay T-shirts I especially like Ed Sheeran because he talks about emotional things I wear mostly black I’m not one for caring about my appearance I am 16 years old I am in college I like emotional songs I want to help people in times of struggle Hanging out with friends and family is a very important thing for me I’m dedicated to make my dreams a reality Connecting with music is very important to me The lyrics of a song has to relate to the imagery of the video because that also helps heighten the understanding of the song I like shopping at Primark, Zara and Vintage shops Its important to me that a music video raises awareness of something that is unkown by others
