MY TARGET AUDIENCE
My target audience is men and women aged 15 – 25 who are interested in the
indie music genre.
They are either in their last year of secondary school, in college or University of
have finished education and are working or in an apprenticeship.
If they are in education they will still have a job so that they have enough money
to afford the magazine.
They will like bands such as the Arctic Monkeys and London Grammar and will
attend concerts and gigs.
They will wear quite unique and old fashioned clothes such as parker coats,
bomber jackets, Doc Martins and oversized jumpers and t shirts.
They will enjoy going on social media sites like Twitter, Instagram and Tumblr.
They enjoy hanging out with their friends and watching films, going to parties
and playing games on the Xbox or other gaming devices.
Their ethnicity will be White British and they will be Middle/Working class.
KATIE MORGAN
Katie is 15 years old and is attending BOA arts college in Birmingham
completing her GCSE’S. After school she wants to complete a Drama BTEC
then go to University to become a teacher.
She has a part time job at The Harvester working in the kitchen.
She enjoys meeting up with friends and going to parties and concerts and going
on social network sites such as Twitter and Instagram. She wants to go to
festivals such as Reading and Coachella.
She listens to artists like Arctic Monkeys and Ed Sheeran.
Katie's ethnicity is White British and she is Middle class.
Katie would be appropriate for my target audience as she listens to indie music
and fits the age range, ethnicity and social class.
She has a part time job so she will be able to afford each edition of the magazine.
She listens to artists that would be featured in the magazine and seeing her
friends.
Therefore she will be suitable as she fits my target audience.
RUCHEET CHAUHAN
Rucheet is 17 years old and attending Solihull 6th form to complete his ICT BTEC.
After college he wants to become an IT technician.
He listens to indie artists such as George Ezra, Bombay Bicycle club and Mumford and
Sons.
He wears stereotypical indie clothes like Doc Martins and Parker coats.
He enjoys playing games like Fifa and meeting up with his friends to play football and
going to concerts and parties.
His ethnicity is Asian British and he is Middle class.
He has recently got a part time job at Sports Direct.
Rucheet would be appropriate for my target audience as he fits the age range and
listens to indie music.
He wears clothes that match the target audience.
He has a part time job so he would be able to afford the magazine.
Even though his ethnicity doesn’t fit the target audience, as he listens to indie music
he still fits the target audience, it’s just White British people stereotypically listen
to indie music more.
BETH OPPENHIEMER
Beth is 17 years old and currently attending Solihull 6th from completing her History,
Psychology, Business and English A levels. After college she wants to go to
university to get a psychology degree.
Her ethnicity is White British and she is Middle/Upper class.
She enjoys going out with her friends and going to parties.
She spends a lot of her time going to the gym or revising for her exams.
She enjoys listening to artists like Haim, Arctic Monkeys and The Smiths
Beth would be appropriate for my target audience as she fits the age range and
ethnicity for my target audience.
She listens to Indie music and the artists she listens to will be featured in the magazine
as they are well known.
Even though she is of a higher class than my target audience she still listens to the
indie music. And as she doesn’t have job she would find it difficult to afford the
magazine but as she is middle/upper class she will still be able to afford it.
She is also a student who enjoys going out with her friends and therefore will be
appropriate.
JASMINE KINDRED
Jasmine is 24 years old and attened Solihull 6th form to complete her
Psychology, Health and Social care and Sociology A levels. After college she
went to University to study sociology. She is now currently looking for a job
as she has got her degree.
She listens to artists like Catfish and the Bottlemen and Arctic Monkeys.
She wears stereotypically indie clothes like over sized denim jackets and skinny
jeans.
She enjoys seeing her friends and wants to go to festivals and concerts, she
wants to go to Reading festival.
Her ethnicity is White British and she is Middle Class.
Jasmine would be appropriate for my target audience as she fits the age range,
social class and ethnicity.
She also enjoys going out with her friends and wants to go to festivals and
concerts.
She wears indie clothes and listens to indie music and therefore would be
appropriate for my media product.
ROSS LOUGH
Ross is 18 years old and is attending Solihull 6th form completing his Maths,
Futher Maths, Physics and Art A levels. After college he wants to go to
University to study Car Mechanics or Architecture.
He has a part time job in a hotel restaurant as a waiter.
His ethnicity is White British and he is Middle/Upper Class.
He listens to artists like Ed Sheeran, Hozier and Arctic Monkeys and 2 chains.
He enjoys going out with his friends and watching Netflix.
Ross would be appropriate for my target audience ahs he is of the same
ethnicity and age range.
He also listens to indie music and has a part time job so would be able to afford
the magazines.
Even though he is of a higher social class than my target audience, he still likes
indie music and therefore would still be appropriate.
JARROD DUBOIS
Jarrod is 22 years old and completing an IT apprenticeship. Heattended
Solihull 6th form to complete is Business, It, Maths and English
Literature A levels. He also has a part time job in a rugby club.
His ethnicity is White British and he is Middle class.
He listens to artists like Ben Howard and Ed Sheeran and NWA.
He enjoys going out with his friends to the skate park and watching netflix.
Jarrod would be appropriate for my target audience as he fits the age
range, ethnicity and social class.
He also listens to indie music and these artists would be featured in my
magazine.
He has a part time job and is completing an apprenticeship so he can afford
the magazine.

  • 2. MY TARGET AUDIENCE My target audience is men and women aged 15 – 25 who are interested in the indie music genre. They are either in their last year of secondary school, in college or University of have finished education and are working or in an apprenticeship. If they are in education they will still have a job so that they have enough money to afford the magazine. They will like bands such as the Arctic Monkeys and London Grammar and will attend concerts and gigs. They will wear quite unique and old fashioned clothes such as parker coats, bomber jackets, Doc Martins and oversized jumpers and t shirts. They will enjoy going on social media sites like Twitter, Instagram and Tumblr. They enjoy hanging out with their friends and watching films, going to parties and playing games on the Xbox or other gaming devices. Their ethnicity will be White British and they will be Middle/Working class.
  • 3. KATIE MORGAN Katie is 15 years old and is attending BOA arts college in Birmingham completing her GCSE’S. After school she wants to complete a Drama BTEC then go to University to become a teacher. She has a part time job at The Harvester working in the kitchen. She enjoys meeting up with friends and going to parties and concerts and going on social network sites such as Twitter and Instagram. She wants to go to festivals such as Reading and Coachella. She listens to artists like Arctic Monkeys and Ed Sheeran. Katie's ethnicity is White British and she is Middle class. Katie would be appropriate for my target audience as she listens to indie music and fits the age range, ethnicity and social class. She has a part time job so she will be able to afford each edition of the magazine. She listens to artists that would be featured in the magazine and seeing her friends. Therefore she will be suitable as she fits my target audience.
  • 4. RUCHEET CHAUHAN Rucheet is 17 years old and attending Solihull 6th form to complete his ICT BTEC. After college he wants to become an IT technician. He listens to indie artists such as George Ezra, Bombay Bicycle club and Mumford and Sons. He wears stereotypical indie clothes like Doc Martins and Parker coats. He enjoys playing games like Fifa and meeting up with his friends to play football and going to concerts and parties. His ethnicity is Asian British and he is Middle class. He has recently got a part time job at Sports Direct. Rucheet would be appropriate for my target audience as he fits the age range and listens to indie music. He wears clothes that match the target audience. He has a part time job so he would be able to afford the magazine. Even though his ethnicity doesn’t fit the target audience, as he listens to indie music he still fits the target audience, it’s just White British people stereotypically listen to indie music more.
  • 5. BETH OPPENHIEMER Beth is 17 years old and currently attending Solihull 6th from completing her History, Psychology, Business and English A levels. After college she wants to go to university to get a psychology degree. Her ethnicity is White British and she is Middle/Upper class. She enjoys going out with her friends and going to parties. She spends a lot of her time going to the gym or revising for her exams. She enjoys listening to artists like Haim, Arctic Monkeys and The Smiths Beth would be appropriate for my target audience as she fits the age range and ethnicity for my target audience. She listens to Indie music and the artists she listens to will be featured in the magazine as they are well known. Even though she is of a higher class than my target audience she still listens to the indie music. And as she doesn’t have job she would find it difficult to afford the magazine but as she is middle/upper class she will still be able to afford it. She is also a student who enjoys going out with her friends and therefore will be appropriate.
  • 6. JASMINE KINDRED Jasmine is 24 years old and attened Solihull 6th form to complete her Psychology, Health and Social care and Sociology A levels. After college she went to University to study sociology. She is now currently looking for a job as she has got her degree. She listens to artists like Catfish and the Bottlemen and Arctic Monkeys. She wears stereotypically indie clothes like over sized denim jackets and skinny jeans. She enjoys seeing her friends and wants to go to festivals and concerts, she wants to go to Reading festival. Her ethnicity is White British and she is Middle Class. Jasmine would be appropriate for my target audience as she fits the age range, social class and ethnicity. She also enjoys going out with her friends and wants to go to festivals and concerts. She wears indie clothes and listens to indie music and therefore would be appropriate for my media product.
  • 7. ROSS LOUGH Ross is 18 years old and is attending Solihull 6th form completing his Maths, Futher Maths, Physics and Art A levels. After college he wants to go to University to study Car Mechanics or Architecture. He has a part time job in a hotel restaurant as a waiter. His ethnicity is White British and he is Middle/Upper Class. He listens to artists like Ed Sheeran, Hozier and Arctic Monkeys and 2 chains. He enjoys going out with his friends and watching Netflix. Ross would be appropriate for my target audience ahs he is of the same ethnicity and age range. He also listens to indie music and has a part time job so would be able to afford the magazines. Even though he is of a higher social class than my target audience, he still likes indie music and therefore would still be appropriate.
  • 8. JARROD DUBOIS Jarrod is 22 years old and completing an IT apprenticeship. Heattended Solihull 6th form to complete is Business, It, Maths and English Literature A levels. He also has a part time job in a rugby club. His ethnicity is White British and he is Middle class. He listens to artists like Ben Howard and Ed Sheeran and NWA. He enjoys going out with his friends to the skate park and watching netflix. Jarrod would be appropriate for my target audience as he fits the age range, ethnicity and social class. He also listens to indie music and these artists would be featured in my magazine. He has a part time job and is completing an apprenticeship so he can afford the magazine.
