The type of person who would read my magazine
Pop music is popular among most 11-21 year olds and that popularity is increasing every day with different ages
and the amount of people. The group of males and females listen to it regularly because studies have shown that
pop music is mostly targeted at the 11-21 year olds, because in puberty, you go through a lot and you can relate to
the subject the music is about.
From my questionnaire results I have concluded that the the right person who would read my pop music magazine can be:
- A boy or a girl between 8-21 years old.
The content in a pop magazine is to entertain the younger audience and give some facts, gossips and/or breathtaking
pictures for the older audience.
- The person is targeted by their taste of pop music and famous celebrities.
Targeting an audience by their same taste of something is called media grouping and is mostly used when magazine
publishers want to attract a certain group of people with a subject they all like.
The type of fan
From my questionnaire results I have concluded that the fans are mostly female. I have only asked foreign (Asian) people if
they would like to buy my magazine, so I do not have any information about all types of people.
The stereotypical fan would want to see a lot of posters in the magazine, gets attracted by free gifts and the main image.
The magazine was preferred to cost about £0-£2. Therefore, I decided to set up a price of £1.29.
The people who like to buy the magazine for that price are also mostly out every weekend to be with friends, as you can
see, this proves that your social and work (school) life can determine what you like or change your perspective on things.
The survey I’ve done did not include asking them what kind of education they were doing, but as I knew the people I’ve
interviewed well, I now know that mostly the smarter women like to have some tips in the magazine as well. It doesn’t have
to be about picking up boys, but just normal social life tips and tips on how to sing better.
