The making of the wall setting for the film was a time-consuming process, so the creator enlisted help with charcoal drawings to speed up the process and add more creative ideas. Pictures associated with death were found online and stuck onto a blanket, which was then nailed to the wall to avoid damaging the wallpaper. - 1. MOOD BOARD! This is my mood board,most music videos focus on their feelings and events in the past therefore I felt it was fitting to create a brain thatwas ableto open and reveal the thoughts. The main imagery is our ideas on shots that we would liketo use, itwill also portray the feeling our character will inhabitthroughout our music video (which is feelingtrapped). Havingthe words psychological on the front of the brain hopefully emphasises thatas a group we are havinga deeper look into the emotion of the lyrics rather than creatingan obvious story the lyrics portray. The outside of the brain is filled with colours such aspink, yellow, green and silver,whereas on the insidethere are colours such as dark red and dark blue. This shows that although society can be a happy and compliant placeit doesn’t necessarily mean that the individual feels the same. Therefore I put the brightand excitingcolours around the brain to represent society,and the dark blueand blood red colours showthe melancholy thoughts of the character. Overall this pieceis to show how someone can be perceived very differently from how they act compared to their thoughts, this mood board not only helps shareour ideas but gives the examiner an insightof what our performance will be about. The bottom of the brain shows the emotion we would want to create within the music video; there are images of shadowed people without faces to show the feeling of being trapped in your thoughts. The image of the eye and the girl in the red coat emphasises insecurities within the character.The image insinuates thatthe character could seeherself as a demon and look at herself in a different way compared to others, not only this itgives the indication of alwaysbeingwatched. The image of the woods gives the impression that the character is lostand is being surrounded by her demons. The top partof the brain shows some of the ideas we liked for location and shots.For example, the location of an abandoned warehouse will createa chillingand mysterious atmosphere. Closeups of the character within the music video I feel is crucial,That’s why I have included a closeup shot of Rhianna from her music video ‘What Now’. Havingblack silhouette shots of the artist/character shows thatthey don’t want to be found and gives us the impression they are hiding.
