Application Of Rfid As Medical Application
Abstract RFID innovation developed a while back however wasn t utilized that regularly because of
absence of standardization and its high costs. RFID is a standout amongst all the most recent
advances and has most encouraging progressions for the future years and in different commercial
enterprises. We assemble a lot of practical information and verifications to support the new

RFID application tests in hospitals have been proposed by many suppliers, such as medicine
control, patients contact history, patient identification, equipment/apparatus tracking, injection
management, doctor request observing, medical malpractice prevention, blood bag quality control,
and operation room work process; all of which concern primarily the wellbeing of the patients.
Medical application of RFID for patient health care enhancement is therefore the focal point of this
study. The emergency room is the most complicate and busiest place in a hospital. A patient goes
missing and leaves registration record but no clinical record is a frequent scenario in an emergency
room. Such patients frequently leaves without reason the hospital while holding up in line,
inhibiting hospital management from tracking the patient head count and location and making
patient scheduling a troublesome undertaking for the hospital personnel.
Hypothesis and Objective
The main objective is to control the accurate information of patients location in real time in a
hospital (emergency room).
In hospitals today, RFID is all the more normally used to track equipment and staff then to track
patients. However the previous likewise enhances the flow by speeding the capacity to locate key

Geographical Benefits Of Eurasia Essay
The geographical advantages of Eurasia allowed civilizations to develop productive agriculture, and
domesticated animals as a result the Europeans had food surplus, developed immunity to epidemic
diseases, and forged steel. These inherited advantages allowed them to decimate other civilizations
and appropriate their resources making them even more powerful.
Agriculture is only one of the many contributes to where we are today. Geographic location affects
agriculture because each specific crop has needs, if you can t meet those needs, then you can t
grow the crops. Some plants need super wet land and some need super dry land ,let s say you
live in Papua New Guinea they live closer the the equator so they have the same weather year
round. So if you re constantly getting the same amount of sunlight all year then you ll only be
able to grow the same crops over and over again. Papua New Guinea had sago, to get sago people
there would have to cut down the sago tree, cut the sago tree in half and collect the sago inside.
With sago you have to have a wet climate, the sago tree takes three or four days to prepare. Sago
does not last long after it is prepared, sago is low in protein and uses more calories then it gives.
But Fertile Crescent on the other hand live farther from the equator, so they end up getting four
seasons while rotating around the sun.Which leads to an advantage in almost everything. A change
in weather four times a year gives them a chance to plant and grow

The Negative Effects Of Art Therapy On Older Adults
Imagine receiving therapeutic treatment through painting, drawing, photography, music, acting,
dancing, or any other form of creative expression. Therapeutic art has been shown to have power
and influence on emotional and developmental states of individuals (Paskaleva Uzunova, 2015). In
their professional paper, researchers Paskaleva and Uzunova discuss multiple benefits of art therapy
on the body and mind. In particular, the knowledge that art acts as a non verbal communication of
inner selves, and that it has evidence of increased emotional states, moods, and ideas is of great
interest. Also, the finding that there is no significant restrictions on the positive effects of art
therapy when considering age, gender, or education level, is promising due to the possibility of far
reaching effects on a wide variety of people (Paskaleva Uzunova, 2015). This statement allows for
the realization that older adults, no matter the age, can benefit from therapeutic art interventions.
Certain research looks specifically at the effects of art therapy on older adults cognition,
improvements in dementia patients states, the decrease in symptoms for older adults suffering from
depression, and the improvement of quality of life through art intervention; from these studies, one
can begin to theorize that the lives of the elderly can be changed for the better through art.
Cognitive preservation is one of the main concern for older adults. According to Pike (2013) when

Uranium Mining In Utah
Uranium mining in Utah started in the 1940 s during WWII when uranium was in high demand in
use of bombs. Uranium was found in all parts of Utah in areas like Lisbon Valley, White Canyon
and even a little bit at the highly famous Bingham Canyon Mine. Yet mostly in an area near Moab

found high uraniumdeposits in Southern Utah. They call it the Uranium Boom of 1952 Uranium is

minerals were used in a way that caused what is called a nuclear explosion. Though,

Chapter 11 Summary And Analysis Of Chapter 11
In chapter eleven, we learn about economics. We learn how to teach our students about scarcity
and how to make good choices. The authors in chapter eleven advise teachers to be prepared to
correct the economics confusion that children bring into the classroom at a young age. According
to Maxim, Even kindergarteners are able to learn basic economicsconcepts (Maxim, 2014, p. 488).
Maxim explains how important it is for our teachers to have a strong understanding of their
background knowledge to have a good economics instruction. In chapter eleven, Ms. Padilla
presents a strategy called the decision making graphic organizer. This organizer was used to look at
the positives and negative consequences. The students would then come up with an

The Great Depression And The Civilian Conservation Corps...
The Great Depression decimated the economy in the 1930s. Specifically, men of the workforce
experienced layoffs, the loss of incomes resulted in inability to purchase goods, the low demand
led to oversupply, and the cycle restarted by employers cutting more jobs. In an effort to combat the
depression, Franklin D. Rooseveltignited the New Deal: a plan to revive the failing economy. One
program, titled the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), assisted successfully in gradually
rekindling the workforce. In addition, the CCC influenced future decisions on similar situations
such as granting employment following the 2008 economic recession.
The CCC was a labor act established in 1933. It decreased the unemployment rate over 9 years by
providing jobs to unemployed, young men affected by the Great Depression. Jobs provided by the
CCC included contributions to park development, natural and historic site preservation, and forest
management. In return for the work, the employees received a small income, education, and, in
some cases, shelter. However, in 1934, government officials such as the assistant secretary of war,
Harry H. Woodring, believed this program appeared... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

centered on granting funds for the continuing workforce. It refrained from military training seen in
the CCC and focused primarily on the workforce s survival or benefit. For example, Youth
Activities involves placing young men and women into summer employment to gain occupational
experience. The programs also offered a more desirable pay rate in comparison. Rather than a

What Is A Representative Democracy
As stated in The Struggle for Democracy, the U.S. is a representative democracy, also known as a
republic (). In this system of government, unlike a direct democracy in which all citizens vote on
all public matters, elected representatives govern the people. The U.S. system consists of three
separate governing branches, executive, judicial, and legislative, which all hold checks and
balances on one another. These checks and balances were meant to ensure the U.S. would be as
democratic as possible and prohibit one branch from gaining too much power. Throughout America
s history, the system has predominantly been a success. In the world today, the United States is
looked upon as a bastion for democratic principles. The U.S. State Department itself ardently
embraces the lofty goals of promoting democracyaround the world, assisting those in foreign
lands who wish to establish democracies, and denouncing regimes that deny citizens their rightful
ability to conduct and participate in free, fair, and transparent elections (). Americans at large
also support democracy enthusiastically. A myriad of citizen ardently proclaim the U.S. s
democratic ideals and the freedoms they allow qualify the U.S. to be the greatest country in the
world. While parts of this is true the U.S. is indeed a global advocate of spreading democracy and
Americans enjoy many freedoms not privy to citizens living under repressive regimes such as
Saudi Arabia or Pakistan the American political system as a whole

Essay On Anthem
Ideologies are meant to be shared and learned throughout a society to encourage the spread as well
as competition of ideas. Through Anthem, Ayn Rand warned of the dangers of blindly and
unquestionably following an ideology; the dangers to society that unexamined loyalty to a belief
system cause to society are upholding oppressive and dehumanizing morals, decreased quality of
life and the governmenttaking advantage of their citizens
Corrupt governments, such a the one in Anthem, use laws and its citizens ignorance to dehumanize
them thus detaching them from their senses of identity. One way in which the government
influences identity is through education. As Equality quotes his teachers in his journal to describe
men s place in society ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is not good to feel too much joy nor to be glad that our body lives. For we matter not and it must
not matter to us whether we live or die, which is to be as our brothers will it. But we, Equality 7
2521, are glad to be living. If this is a vice, then we wish no virtue. (Rand 11)
The citizens of Anthem are not happy and until society changes, they can never be. Quality of life
is having something to live for and human condition is actively looking for it for yourself. In
Anthem, government tells the citizens what to believe and how to think, making it impossible for
them to have an authentic quality of life. The government taught them that their lives are
disposable and do not have much value. This decreases of life because these people cannot achieve
true happiness due to the ideologies they follow unquestionably and trust. They do not have
anything to live for save existence itself and they do not understand how much they are affected
by that. Decreasing quality of life because of blind beliefs in a society s ideologies is just as bad as
these people being taken advantage of by their system of government.
The citizens of Anthem are consistently being used by the government because they choose to
ignorantly believe their society s opinions. At the end of the story when Equality tries to analyze
why his society is so corrupted, he summarizes his thoughts by writing What is freedom? Freedom
from what? There is nothing to take a man s

What Is Octavia Butler s Response To The Parable Of The Sower
Parable of the Sower Response (Chapters 1 11)
In an alternate reality eight years from now, America has become a ravaged landscape, dotted
with walled communities. Islands amongst a shark infested ocean. Stars scattered across the
emptiness of space. While this comparison may seem extreme, the similarities shared between
Octavia Butler s post apocalyptic vision and present day America can be made apparent. Are we
really living in delusional walled off communities? Many neighborhoods today are separated by
both race and class. Like in the book, all Americans look forward to change, and yet change is just
an elusive dream that the future will bring about a better tomorrow. Parable of the Sower is a
reminder of how fragile we are as a country, and how we ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

One part that caught my attention the most was the ending of the space program by newly elected
President Donner. Space is a recurring theme, introduced near the beginning of the book when
Lauren talks to her grandmother about the visible stars in the sky, discussing how city pollution
blocked out the view of the stars in the past. This is a symbolization of how modernization and the
rise of powerful corporate companies envelopes people in the haze of normalcy and safety,
depriving them of the drive to change. This introduces a concept where people are blinded by
external sources from reaching the stars, where space and the stars represent truth, ambition, and
curiosity. As mentioned before, the presidential command to cut all involvement of funding space
programs marks the abandonment of all these values. In a way, the whole country of America is the
walled off community of Robledo, afraid to venture into the unknown, and living in ignorance
through the thought that its inhabitants will always live to see another day. Americans cannot
progress by blinding themselves to the truth, and must confront the fact that one day all things will
come to an end. Lauren s father explains to her that, You ve

Twezers Lab Report
The predators in this experiment were three different types of tools, a tweezer, a wooden
clothespin, and a clothes clip. At the start of the first round, there were ten beans for each
different type of bean. Nearly all the white beans were taken out of the first round, only one
survived. This was because the white beans were large, non slippery, and easy to catch. Red
beans and green beans were not as easy to catch. Based on the data and the graph, the tweezers
captured the most beans in this round and the clothes clip had the least (w/ only one white bean).
In the second round, every white bean was captured and many red beans were captured. The
green beans were not captured as often as either other bean. From this, it can be concluded that
the tweezers are the only predator that can efficiently collect green beans based on the graph. As
of round two, no other predator has managed to capture a green bean. Also, the clothes clip
captured zero beans this round. From the data so far, it can be inferred that the tweezers have the
highest ability to capture prey, while the clothes clip has the least (clothespin is in between).... Show

It is interesting to point out that the clothes clip has only captured one bean the past two rounds
and had captured nine red beans this round. This is because the clothes clip gained a learned
behavior that allowed it to capture beans much more efficiently. From now on, only green beans
are left and this could mean the extinction of both the clothespin and clothes clip because only the
tweezers can efficiently capture the green beans. This is very demonstrative of the process of
natural selection and how organisms with the advantageous trait for survival will survive and pass
on their genes, while those with disadvantageous traits will not live to

Batwoman Research Paper
Batwoman has one of the most interesting origin stories of all the comic heroines. In the year
1954, there was a book called the Seduction Of The Innocent by Fredric Wertham, which claimed
had Batman and Robin of have a homosexual relationship (Madrid, 59) and also informed parents
that their kids would copy the crimes seen in the comics (Simonson, 119). Back in 1954, it was
frowned upon being gay. Batmanand Robin were one of the best sellers at DC comicsso In 1956,
Batman was assigned a superheroine love interest heiress Katherine Kane, who adopted the
masked guise of Batwoman to by charges of a homosexual relationship between the Caped
Crusader and his young ally Robin (Misiroglu 316). In Detective Comics issue #233 in July 1956

(Madrid 62 64). Also to help remove the image of homosexuality in the comics DC Comics built
a wholesome Batman family . Batman and Robin were also joined by Ace the Bat Hound, Bat
Girl (not Batgirl, they are two different characters), and a magical imp named Bat Mite (Misiroglu
59). This was used to help remove the image of homosexuality in the comics. But it didn t really
work, why? Batwoman would learn that her greatest obstacle wouldn t bring justice to Gotham City
or not nefarious criminals of its underworld, but her idol, Batman. When the caped twosome
meets, Batman tells Batwoman that crime fighting is too dangerous for a woman (Madrid 62
64). There definitely wasn t much of a romance going on, and relationship that Batman and
Batwoman did have was not a good foundation for a love affair (Madrid 67). Nevertheless,
Batwoman presence seemed to dispel the gay speculation (Madrid 67). She was in the comic
books from 1956 to 1964 (Simonson 119) and was rebooted in 2006 (Simonson 149). The irony
is that although Batwoman had been introduced as a lover for Batman as a way to dispel the gay
speculation, in the comic series 52 issue 11 produced in July 2006 Katherine comes out of the
closet as a lesbian (Simonson

he tried to ignore it, Harry couldn t help but remain curious over Petunia s peculiar anxiety.
Lying awake in bed, he listened. The house was quiet for the longest time, aside from the low
hum of the television. Then, Harry heard the phone ring. Petunia must ve jumped up suddenly,
because he heard her chair scrape against the floor. Petunia hissed into the phone urgently.
Swiftly slinking out of bed, Harry carefully opened his door. Edging along the hallway, he

A Rhetorical Analysis Of What Is The Fate Of Aeneas
Aeneas and his fleet of twenty ships had been reduced to 7 ships and many lives had been lost at
sea. The spirits of just about every man in the voyage was crushed and everything seems helpless.
The waters were restless until Neptune calmed the sea giving Aeneas and his men the chance to
escape and land on the island of Lydia. Aeneasknows that his men are tired, beat down and broken
hearted. Aeneas goes on to hunt and kill seven stages; one for each of the remaining ships. Aeneas
being the great leader he is knows that he has to lift the spirits of his men. Through pathos Aeneas

Refugee Camps And The United Nations High Commissioner For...
Throughout historical events including modern day occurrences, the conflict between
environmental and humanitarian issues are vouchsafed to be unimportant. Per the United Nations
High Commissioner for Refugees, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees is tasked
with addressing the environmental effects and impacts on refugees, and states that the most
significant problems from refugees [and camps] include deforestation, soil erosions and depletion
and pollution of water resources (UNHCR Social). Yet, after numerous displacements in the
Middle East, the world seemed poised to grant a higher priority to lower issues on the agenda for
environmental stability. However, despite increasing awareness that environmental decline
produces and is a byproduct of conflict, little is known about the linkage between refugee camps
and the environment due to a lack of conceptual clarity. As a result, in the case of refugee camps
and their ability to impact our environment, refugee camps are a global concern that affects
everyone and our global ecosystem. By way of illustration, the dire living conditions in refugee
camps [and the harboring diseases that they can create] are less often a focus for international
humanitarian attention. In fact, many who are uprooted from their homes [during violent conflict]
travel countless miles in search of safety [in refugee camps] only to face new perilous
circumstances. Currently, living conditions within refugee camps are often

The Ways Of Non Point Source Pollution During The Great Lakes
The way of Non point source pollution in the Great Lakes
Atmospheric precipitation
Many contaminants settle out of the atmosphere, such as acid rain, the pollutants and nutrients will
transport from distant places by air depositing into the lake as the form of rain. The first pollutants
as atmospheric deposition on the Great Lakes were phosphorus. It is found that about 20 percent
phosphorus entering Lake Michigan comes from the atmosphere by determination of rain, snow and
dust. Since phosphorus pollution generated by this approach cannot be controlled, so it is more
urgent to reduce the phosphorus content of detergent, sewer and effluent fertilizers. People found
fish in a lake of Lake Superior in a remote island containing PCBs and toxaphene, and this place
isolated with no direct way to pollution. This determines the long range transport of pollutants
through the atmosphere and settlement in the lake. In fact the processes of material transport
through atmospheric was very complex. For instance PCBs was insoluble in water, so as to re
enter the atmosphere during evaporation or connected together into small particles. A lot of PCBs
volatilize from the lake, meanwhile, PCBs coming from various parts of the air mass experience
the sedimentation on the lake. Other than that the contaminated sediment is another way to cause
pollution of the lake. This is problems of the most urban industrial areas. Even if there is likely to

A Race United Essay
When the first Irish immigrants landed on the eastern shores of America in the 18th century, they
were met by intolerance from the Native whites who saw them as a threat to the American way of
life. The Dangers of Foreign Immigration, an article written by Samuel Morse in 1835, exposits
much of the anti immigrant sentiment prevalent in the 19th century. To the natives, the Irish were
simply niggers turned inside out (Anonymous Satirism), who came to America as refugees from
Ireland to deprive them of their wealth and prosperity. Thus, the immigrants of Erin were forced to
join the ranks of the slave, the German, and the free Negro laborer at the very bottom of the
American diaspora. But instead of accepting the hand which they were... Show more content on

In addition to Irish progress politically, the sons and daughters of Erin also received help from each
other. Written in 1835, The Dangers of Foreign Immigrationwas not targeted at the earliest wave of
Irish immigrants who arrived in the late 18th century. Unlike later generations, these early Irish
Americans were not necessarily Catholic, and didn t always speak English, but rather Gaelic. By
the time the second wave of Irish immigrants arrived in the mid 19th century, yet more differences
existed between these two waves. Those immigrants who had arrived earlier were by now relatively
more wealthy and established than their more recent counterparts. But through their common
threads Irish men and women, the established communities provided financial and political aid to
their newly arriving brethren. The Shamrock Friendly Association, an Irish aid group comprised of
prosperous Irish American citizens, published an informational pamphlet in 1816 entitled Hints to

Sexual Assault And Assault Response And Prevention Program

is responsible for maintaining the good order and conduct of our service members (SMs).
Unfortunately, the U.S. military has not been able to effectively combat the occurrences of sexual
assault. Billions of taxpayer dollars have been thrown at the problem, programs have been
implemented and task forces have been mobilized. To combat this epidemic, the Sexual Harassment

Removing the authority from the victim s COC is believed to reduce bias and the fear of
retaliation by commanding officers (COs). Within 180 days of the enactment of the bill,
administrative hierarchies will convene to create policies and procedures to adhere to the
mandates of S.1752. Within the deadline, policies and procedures will be disseminated to the
lowest level in memorandum format (Military Justice Improvement Act, 2013). Victims of sexual
assault are intended to be empowered to safely and confidentially report a crime to their COC and
be assured that justice will be served without reprisal. S.1752 is designed to protect SMs who are
victims of sexual assault from a corrupt or neglectful COC by removing their authority in the matter.
Policy Analysis A systematic analysis of S.1752 is essential to forecasting potential intended and

extent to which this bill will accomplish it s purpose of removing the authority of sexual assault

underboss other than the established Neil Dellacroce he put his brother in law Paul Castellano

crimes. Once Gambino died in 1976 it was Castellano who rose as don and not Dellacroce who was

Men and Women Were Created Equ Essay
By: Robert
E mail: an@cancom.net
Men and Women were Created Equal Men are not superior to women, they are equal in every way.
Although it is true that society has stereotyped women into traditional roles, this preconceived
notion, is totally false. Action to promote the concept of equality in our society needs to be taken.
Women have been fighting for equality for many decades. As a result of this battle, some amazing
transformations have taken place amongst the female gender. Women have become educated and
over the last few decades have started to take active roles and their rightful place in society. They
have made major inroads in working opportunities, including government, science and even the
military. They are reshaping world ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
2 Another example of women sharing an equal role in today s society is demonstrated in the
military. Today s women joining the Canadian Armed Forces are equally eligible with men for
combat roles. Over 229,000 women serve on active duty in the military services of the Department
of Defense. This monumental step allows women to become takers, as well as producers of life.
Women now have equal rights and responsibilities in the defense of our country. These advances
have been made, not only on the ground but in the air as well. In 1988, Deanna Brasseur became
Canada s first female fighter pilot. That same year, the defense department appointed their first
female general, Sheila Hellstrom. The department also stated that women often do better at riflery
than men due to the fact that they listen to instruction while men tend to think they know it all. A
male veteran sergeant, proud of his work with female recruits, says that: Today s women won t
find anything that hard to adjust to in the military. The facts are telling a tale. Many doors are
opening for women and they are barreling through with boundless energy and determination. The
21st century is here and the traditional role of the stay at home mother is all but disappeared.
Marriage and children are still signs of the successful women, however women are less willing to
accept exclusive roles of housewife and mother. More and more women are entering the labor
market as education has

The Mission And Mission Of The Church s Global Outreach
Mission refers to an individual or group of people being sent out to complete a specific task or
purpose, such as ministering to those who lack the knowledge of Christ. Culbertson and Gailey
define missions as the attempt to fulfill God s call to make disciples of all people (Culbertson
224). In Discovering Missions, Culbertson and Gailey speak on the countless aspects of missions
and the importance of global mission. The term missionmeans sending out or assigned task
(Culbertson 9). Missiology is a reflection upon the practice of Christian mission (Culbertson 9).
The difference between mission and missions is that mission is simply a response to God s calling
and the term missions are referring to specific ways and organizational structures in which the
Church s global outreach is carried out (Culbertson 11). The ultimate mission is discipleship. A
strong foundation is required to accept such a calling and to be effective in it.
If God s people today want to be covenant partakers, they must view global mission as something
more than optional or tangential (Culbertson 35). Not everyone is called to do global mission. In
other words, not everyone has the foundation required to answer to such a calling. In accepting a
call to missionary work, one must put themselves aside for the sake of others. The ultimate
mission is discipleship. The church is to reach people and win souls. Through winning souls, the
believers are to be built up and equipped for the work of

Defining Macbeth in William Shakespeare s Play Essay
Defining Macbeth in William Shakespeare s Play
The character of Macbeth is a classic example of a Shakespearean tragic hero. There are many
factors, which contribute to the degeneration of Macbeth of which three will be discussed. The
three points, which contribute greatly to Macbeth s degeneration, are the prophecies, which were
told to him by the witches, Lady Macbeth s influence and manipulation of Macbeth s judgment, and
finally Macbeth s long time ambition which drove his desire to be king. Under these influences
Macbeth s character degenerates from a noble, brave, loyal man to violent, murdering, tyrant
individual.

When Duncan is asleep, his two chamberlains
Will I with wine and wassail, so convince ,

Macbeth is in struggle with his conscience but is goaded by Lady Macbeth to proceed with the
murder when she questions his manhood. Macbeth s image of himself forces him to reply,
I dare do all that may become a man;
Who dares do more, is none
As soon as Macbeth has performed the treasonous deed he immediately regrets his wrongdoing. At
this point of the play the audience can note the change in Macbeth s character. Macbeth s first
murder was a trying experience for him, however after the first murder; killing seemed to be the
only solution to maintain his reign of the people of Scotland. Therefore, it was Lady Macbeth who
introduced the concept of murder to Macbeth as the shortest way to obtain the crown that was
prophesied by the witches.
Macbeth s ambition also influenced his journey form hero to villain. However, Macbeth s ambition
had not been strong enough for him to kill the King. He declares,

Don Giovanni The Sextet
Don Giovanni is an opera performed by Mozart where the main character Don Giovanni murders
a man, seduces women, and in the end receives his awaiting fate. The sextet, which is when the
remaining of the characters sing, takes place at the finale of the opera. Everybody else runs
onstage...and there is a quick lively finale, where each character announces what he or she will do
next find a new master, join a convent, get married. That, they sing, is the end for those who do
evil. (Pg. 199). This finale was a major part of the Don Giovanniplay before directors during the
nineteenth century began to cut that performance out. The sextet served as an epilogue for the
audience. The audience is able to get a glimpse of what the remaining characters life might look like

With this finale the audience does not leave the play feeling completely dismal as a result of Don
Giovanni s punishment. In addition, the message behind the opera is still clear as it would have
been without the sextet. But the seriousness of the message is not conveyed as well at could be.
The opera is supposed to have moments of comedy and moments of seriousness, especially
regarding the anticipated fate of Don Giovanni. However, because of the sextet the significance of
the intended message could lose its meaning.
Since the nineteenth century decided to remove the sextet the finale of the opera becomes more
dramatic. The opera ends on the scene of Don Giovanni being engulfed by the flames of hell
without the sextet. The meaning, sinners are going to be punished, is clear to the audience and is
not taken lightly. The audience will most likely remember the finale of the play more than anything
else. Allowing the opera to not only be remembered for its humor but its ability to blend a dramatic
storyline with hints of comedy. But the impression the opera leaves on its audience might be too

Conflict Resolution And Conflict Resolution
The ability to work well with other people within a work environment is fundamental to
productivity and effectiveness in patient care (Marquis Huston, 2015). However, within active
environments where interactions take place among many people all the time, there is a greater
chance of conflict. Marquis and Huston (2015) mention that within a work environment there often
is a variety of different values, beliefs, backgrounds, and goals coming from each individual. This
leads to the expected outcome that there will be conflict. Within my professional practice regarding
leadership, I want to apply conflict resolution.
Conflict to me is something that I would like to avoid all together. Working at a senior living, I am
the nurse manager, meaning I am in charge of the Certified Nurse Aids (CNAs). When going to
work there are many tasks that I must complete during my shift and the last thing I want to add to
it would be a conflict between the CNAs. Unfortunately, this happens more often than not. The
types of conflicts vary including, intergroup, intrapersonal, and interpersonal conflicts. The most
common type is interpersonal conflict which is a conflict between two or more people with
differing values, goal, and beliefs (Marquis Huston, 2015). There has been hostility and arguing
on the floor, and this cannot be tolerated or avoided. Regrettably, I have avoided a conflict and the
work flow of the night was disrupted. However, I have had a positive experience as

The Transformative Power of Sports in the American Civil...
The Transformative Power of Sports in the American Civil Rights Movement Martin Luther
King Jr. had a dream, but so did Cassius Clay, Jackie Robinson, and Bill Russell. Long before
King s famous I Had a Dream speech or Rosa Parks famous protest came something much
simpler: Sports. Sports have always had the ability to open peoples eyes in a way that is more
impactful than words or actions. The way that athletics can shape a person s mind, or open one
s eyes to something beyond what one already believes, is incredible. They can get everyone to
root for a common purpose, and for some, that was freedom. The integration of professional and
collegiate athletics not only changed sports history, but helped shape American history. Cassius
Marcellus Clay was born in Louisville, Kentucky on January 17, 1942, during a time when
Louisville was severely segregated; African Americans were often considered the servant class,
and the highest goal that many parents could realistically set for their children was being a
clergymen or public school teacher. (1b. SV; SV, and SV.)Cassius Clay s father was a billboard

Iraq, but the terrorist group didn t exist in the country until after the invasion (Blix). Moreover,
Mr. Blix elaborates by also stating how the locals of Iraq may have been against the 2003
invasion of the United States. He elaborates by saying that intent of entering Iraq was to set it up
as a friendly base for U.S. troops capable to act, if needed, against Iran but instead [the invasion]
gave Iran a new ally in Baghdad (Blix). Needless to say, this evidence can be used to explain why
the initial entrance to Iraq was a bad idea from the start. Ten years later, Stephanie Condon of

and Iraqis alike were frustrated with the ever lasting occupation of Iraq, which ultimately ended in

Analysis Of National Lampoon s Big Five
National Lampoon s Christmas Vacation details the crazy escapades of the Griswold family as
they navigate the arrival of family, endure grouchy bosses, and struggle to create the perfect
family Christmas. The family patriarch, Clark Griswold, is the main protagonist and
demonstrates a variety of interesting psychological characteristics conducive to analysis. This
paper assesses Clark from a trait perspective, focusing on his lack of conscientiousness, and a
non trait, psychoanalytic perspective, by addressing how Clark regresses as a defense mechanism
in response to tension and anxiety inducing situations throughout the movie. One salient aspect of
Clark s personality that can be observed from a trait perspective is his lack of conscientiousness.
The Big Five was established to create a standardized list of essential traits to explain how/why
individuals are both similar and different in personality. The journey to establish the Big Five
began with the Lexical Hypothesis, which took 17,953 adjectives and consolidated them to 4,500
enduring psychological traits, which were whittled to 35 clusters of personality, with a final factor
analysis leading to the Big Five traits known today. Subsequent analysis and repeated testing has
consistently yielded the same five traits: extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness,
neuroticism, and openness to experience. The Big Five fall on a larger spectrum that includes

Url Is An Acronym For Uniform Resource Locator And Is A...
URL is an acronym for Uniform Resource Locator and is a reference (an address) to a resource on
the Internet. A URL is the fundamental network identification for any resource connected to the
web. It s often easiest, although not entirely accurate, to think of a URL as the name of a file on
the World Wide Web
because most URLs refer to a file on some machine on the network.
However, remember that URLs also can point to other resources on the network, such as
database queries and command output. Most people realize that a space is not allowed in a

characters and !$ _+* () . Any other characters that are required in the URL must be encoded. For

Identity in House Made of Dawn Essay
Identity in House Made of Dawn
In 1969 N. Scott Momaday won the Pulitzer Prize for his phenomenal work, House Made of
Dawn. The novel addresses the issue of identity, how it can be lost as well as recovered. Momaday
offers insightful methods of recovering or attaining one s identity. Momaday once made the
following now famous statement:
We are what we imagine. Our very existence consists in our imagination of ourselves. Our best
destiny is to imagine, at least, completely, who and what, and that we are. The greatest tragedy that
can befall us is to go unimagined (Owens, 93).

The path to imagination and identity lies in those things that show us who we are, that heal and
make us whole, and that promote order and reality. Throughout House Made of Dawn, two of
Momaday s methods to attaining identity reveal themselves to be, on this same path, running and
stories. These methods are not separate, but intermingle and cross over one another at different
times. Ultimately, through the utilization of these methods, one can gain a sense of identity and the
ability to imagine oneself. At the novel s ending, this is exactly what Abel does.
In the second paragraph of the prologue, Abel is running. The prologue begins with Abel running
and ends with Abel running. The prologue, in a mythic time and place, tells the story, and how it
will end, in accordance with traditional storytelling. (Owens, 96). We, the reader, know that Abel
with find himself by the novel s end. However, what is important, is the way the story is told
(Owens, 96). Thus, in finding running at the beginning and ending of the prologue, one can infer
that running must be important to identity, because only when Abel has his sense of identity does
he run. The portion of the novel following the prologue proves this to be true throughout. Owens
says that for the Jemez Pueblo, the native community and culture in which the novel is set, running

Causes Of Earthquakes By The Movements Of The Earth
Cause of earthquakes:
Earthquakes are caused by the movements of the earth. Large blocks of stone called tectonic plates
are constantly moving creating friction and stress with each other. These earthquakes then cause
massive damage above the surface. There are three different types of earthquakes.
Convergent: This occurs when two plates crash into each other from separate directions, this sudden
crash lasts until one plates goes over the other, this is called a thrust movement. Over millions of
years this can cause mountains to form.
Divergent: This happens when plates are forced apart, this is common on ocean floors as it creates
deep sea trenches. It can also cause canyons.
Transform: This occurs when two plates slide past each other,... Show more content on

It is used to classify the effect the earthquake will have on the surface. Unlike the Richter scale it
does not take the energy of an earthquake into account. The Mercalli scale has a scale from
I XII (1 12) and the higher the number the more damage that earthquake will do to the surface. Eg,
a Mercalli scale of l is felt by very few people and causes no damage, while a Mercalli scale of Xll it
is chaotic, the ground is visibly moving in waves, objects are thrown into the air, most structures
are destroyed and people are fearing for their lives.
Example of recent event including damaged caused
In 2016, November 14th, 00:02 am, a magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck the south island of New
Zealand and lasted approximately 2 minutes. Two people died in the earthquake, both were
crushed in their homes. Many major roads were closed due to damage to the bridges and stayed
closed in the morning due to landslides, damaged infrastructure and risk of falling debris. It took
months to fully repair all the roads and allow the flow of traffic again. The earthquake also
caused a 5 meter high wave to form which struck Little Pigeon Bay on Banks Peninsula, the bay
had one house and was heavily damaged. At the earthquakes peak it reached a Mercalli scale of IX
(9).

Advantages Of Home Based Travel Agent
Some facts about home based travel agent
Today, most people are not aware of the travel industry. People think about them often as real
estate agents. When people are close to their retirement or they want to have some work while
staying in their homes prefer to become travel agents as it is an exciting job to be chosen after
retirement. There are some people who want to do it as a part time business while many people do it
full time.
Duties of a travel agent
A travel agent has a duty to book travel for his clients and as the result, he is paid by the
suppliers a good commission on his booking. And if there is any case that supplier don t pay him
any commission for, a travel agent also has option to charge the customer a fee for providing his
service for his time that he spent in managing his journey programmes. An example is if
someone books a hotel for a customer, the hotel management would send a check to an agency
after the customer checked out. There are many hotels that pay about 10% of the cost of the
hotel before fees and taxes. So, if the price of the hotel is 100 US dollars it means the travel agent
will be paid 10 dollars because of the booking he made. The hotel would charge the same amount

The Journey Of Saint Louis
It all started one bitterly cold Sunday afternoon. We were packed and ready to roll for our week
long trip. The adventure to Florida took us nearly two entire days. On our way there, while we
were there, and on the way back; we overcame several challenges. My mom (Sharyl), my step dad
(Kyle), my little brother (Connor), my other little brother (Chase), my mom s friends (Deb and
Ticker), and their children (PJ and Zach), left for our tripon a Sunday afternoon right after my mom
was done with work. We made sure to double, even triple, check everything to make sure we had
everything that we thought we would need for our trip. While we were on our way to Saint Louis
for our first stop, we were able to find several things to keep ourselves... Show more content on

I also listened to music and talked to my girlfriend for the majority of the ride. For the rest of the
ride, I enjoyed the company of everyone else. I played I Spy with my little brothers. I remember
him saying that his color was blue, when almost all the road signs were blue. We stopped for
lunch at around 2:30 and filled up on gas and purchased our snacks. I remember we had just
stopped to go to the bathroom about five minutes earlier. I had felt like I didn t have to go, so of
course I didn t go. I quickly realized that was a bad idea when I finally felt like it was time for me
to go. Well, my step dad wouldn t stop to let me go, so I could either go in a bottle or wait till we
stopped for supper. I decided to wait since I thought that we would be stopping very soon, but I
was very wrong. I had to wait almost 5 hours just to use the bathroom! When we finally stopped
to for supper, I really had to go. I swear I was in the bathroom for a good five minutes, just going
number one. We had finished eating our supper and was ready to go back on the road by 10:00.
For the rest of the ride to Valdosta, most of us slept or at least did everything that they could to
attempt it. We had to stop for gas one more time, before finally arriving in Valdosta at around one
in the morning. I remember that the hotel wasn t very nice and the beds were very small. I
enjoyed being able to take a shower, after not being able to for a

Internal And External Factors Of Small Business
Small businesses have gained steadily more importance after they started to rise in the mid1990s.
They are characterised by a high chance of entrepreneurial risk; their link is inborn and cannot be
rid of; however, small firms are steadily progressing and acquiring a noteworthy role in nowadays
society. These types of businesses are particularly significant for the global economy and for the
commercial flow; they are known by governments worldwide for their contribution to the economic
stability and growth, employment and new job creation and social cohesion and development
(Morrison et al, 2003). For instance, according to Delephanty, in the US small businessemploys
almost half workforce of the country and creates two thirds of all net new jobs; that s why small
businesses have a major importance worldwide (2015). In 2007, the number of small businesses in
the UK was up to 4,6 million and they contributed to almost 50% of employment (BERR, 2008).
There are several elements that help the entrepreneur determine the success or the failure of SBs;
they distinguished between internal and external factors. Their importance can be denoted by the
way they influence the progress of the company.
The internal, or organisation, factors are indispensable; in fact, some believe that managing the
strengths of internal operations is the key to business success (PestelAnalysis, 2015). They come
directly from inside the company and involve a specific control undertaken by the

Reflection Of The Brain
By far, the most interesting concept that I have ever come across in my life is the brain. The brain
is a an array of complexities involving lobes, such as the frontal and temporal, that have different
functions and control a different part of a human s life. I think that the more one digs deeper into
the way that the brainworks, the more one begins to realize just how many things can go wrong in
the brain which can lead to a lifetime of devastation. Looking at the bigger picture, I think that I am
more than honored to work in any research project that involves anything remotely related to the
neuroscience because I am always looking for ways to expand my knowledge about the brain and
essentially the nervous systemin general. To be specific, I am interested in how to handle any
dementia related diseases such as Alzheimer s or Parkinson s, since I think that these diseases
along with diseases such as Huntington s affects a lot of people nationwide, and focusing
research on neuroscience diseases in general will help and impact many individuals worldwide.
Going into more detail, I would like to research what kind of mechanisms or biotechnology we
can use in order to alert future patients of their future risk for these neuroscience diseases. For
example, maybe the percentage of the time they stay in REM sleep might help with the
configuration of a formula that can be generated into an app that tracks on sleeps states and
combined with their genetic disposition, science will be able to determine their risk for Alzheimer
s and so on. In addition, I would like to seek a research project that kind of nails down the
diagnostic stage of Alzheimer s. Currently, there is research out there that talk about the buildup of
plaque but there also counter arguments that state how 80 years olds present with this plaque do
not even show the slightest symptoms of dementia which counters what modern medicineis saying
about the plaques being linked to Alzheimer s. I think that if we had a hard set on what the official
diagnosis for Alzheimer s, Parkinson s, Huntington s, or any neurological disease for that matter, it
would be beneficial to the world at large. Diverting away from neuroscience, I am also interested in

Urbanization In The Late Nineteenth Century
Urbanization in the United States in the late nineteenth century resulted from a number of factors,
in particular the rise of commercial activity following the Civil War and the industrialization of the
period. During that post bellum period, cities grew along with a rising population of those residing
in the cities. Although those two factors might, at first, appear to be the same, they are, in fact,
different. In one early study from immediately after the period (Jefferson, 1915), scholars observed
that American cities grew by about 15 million people in the two decades before 1900. Immigration
from other countries certainly featured significantly in that growth, but the industrial revolutionalso
played a significant role (Schultz, 2013,

The Personality Of Antisocial Personality Disorder
Today it is estimated that .6 to 4% of the general population are thought to have antisocial
personality. (Thompson, 2014) Antisocial disorder is a personality disorder in which a person
may have behavioral deficits or tendencies not accepted as normal by society s standard. Antisocial
personality disorder is sometimes also known as sociopathy. Someone who has this disorder may
be called a sociopath. Some behavioral deficits seen in sociopaths include, superficial charm,
pathological lying, lack of remorse, shallow emotions, and need for stimulation. (Horley, 2014)
Unfortunately, Antisocial Disorder still has many unknowns and is in need of more research.

MacKenzie discusses in her article how psychopaths are generally internally affected and
experience psychological difficulties, whereas sociopaths are not as internally affected, most of
the time they are only affected in their relationship with society (2014). To focus further on
sociopathic disorder, Dr. Paula MacKenzie discusses this history of the disorder. MacKenzie
defines sociopathy as a personality disorder characterized by a lack of social responsibility and
failure to adapt to ethical and social standards of the community (Mosby s Medical, Nursing,
Allied Health Dictionary, 2002, p. 1599). After she defines the many personality disorders she
discusses in the article, she discusses how much of the research of behavioral disorders began in
the 1800 s when mental asylums became popular (2014). The first classification of a disorder
similar to sociopathy was manie sans delire or insanity without delirium. Even though psychopathy
is the disorder that is said to be genetic, there are significant differences in the biological brains of
individuals with sociopathic disorder and those without it. In an article by Blair and Cipolotti, an
individual with sociopathic disorder was studied and assessed, and the findings are discussed.
When the individual was given a CT scan, an enlarged image of the brain was compared to that of
a neuro typical individual. In the visual comparison, there is a clear difference of the

Colorado Gold Rush Research Paper
Throughout American history there has been many instances of European settlers invading the
land of the native peoples. This holds true for the state of Colorado. It appears as if the Gold
Rush acts as a catalyst for this hostile relationship. Although there are many positives Colorado
experienced from the gold rush, the native people experienced the downside of this historical
event. The first Northern American European explorers came from Spain. During these first
travels Colorado wasn t in anyone s sights. They saw it as a remote area on the outskirts of the
areas that they wanted to colonize. They went all around Colorado, forming New Mexico, fighting
the Natives as they went. From New Mexico the explorers started to enter Southern Colorado....

deal with the Indians to use their land, while they still lived on it, or for a small cut of the profits.
This leaves less money for the government and big mining firms, but there would have been no
causalities and the relationship between the Natives and the United States government and citizens

Analysis Of Janice Mirikitani s Suicide Note
It s easy to feel worthless. Almost every person feels this deep emotion at some time in life, but
people handle it different. Everywhere people are always judging. Judgement from parents, from
family, and even from friends is inescapable. People can tear themselves down in many ways, such
as through school, not feeling they look good enough, and even just not feeling like they re ever
good enough to be living on Earth. In Janice Mirikitani s poem SuicideNote, it talks about an Asian
American student currently in college. She tries her hardest, she wants to succeed and make her
parents proud. Her parents have high standards for her, as they want her to receive a 4.0 grade
point average. Although she gives her best effort, her grade point average is still less than a 4.0,
and for that reason her parents are not proud of her, she s not their perfect, ideal daughter. So she
enters that point where she no longer feels proud of her accomplishments, she feels worthless, and
unintelligent. She decides to commit suicide by jumping out of a window in her college dorm. In
her suicide noteshe apologizes to her parents for not being good enough. Suicide Note is a free
form poem, it has no set stanzaic pattern, the sentences break in unexpected places, and the
structure varies throughout the poem. It uses imagery to connect with the reader, and the stanzas
are set up in way that make the lines to appear as they are falling. Through the use of enjambment,
and end stopped line the

Christianity
He tells the church to rule among yourselves, which are then broken down into four parts. We are
to be watchful so that any under our charge or that we are ministering to do don t fall into the
traps of the evil one. We are to rule amongst ourselves, in which certain people take the leadership
roles in the church and guide the congregation. We as a congregation are called to lead, just as it
said in Hebrews 13:17 not with pushing, or demanding, but rather commanding, not as Gods,
but as leaders. Finally to live as example in all that we do ethically, morally, family, work, service
to others. We can se this idea of rule among you in 1 Peter 5:2 when it says, 2 Be shepherds of
God s flock that is under your care, watching over them not because you must, but because you
are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve; (NIV)
Campbell calls us to have congregational autonomy in every city as to appoint elders in every
city so that they may watch over their flock that they are now responsible for, as it says in Titus
1:5, 5 The reason I left you in Crete was that you might put in order what was left unfinished and
appoint elders in every town, as I directed you. (NIV) Lastly when talking about congregational
autonomy Campbell tells us that we need to have overseers as in elders. Elders originally meant an
older man, because older men have wisdom and experience through age which then gives then the
capability to oversee, as it

Analysis Of The Film Chiron From The Movie Moonlight
Chiron from the movie Moonlight , his decisions of who he became, was not entirely by him.
His decisions were made through a mix of him and his circumstances. Proving that his decisions
were mainly influenced by his circumstances was the scene where he told Kevin that after the
incident with Tyrell, he went to jail and from there he built himself from the ground up. This
decision is influenced by him going to jail and he didn t want to let people to punk him around. If
your bullied, your going to always be bullied.. Another piece of evidence is when Chiron is in Jail
and someone helps him to start selling narcotics. He started selling dope which that decision is
influenced by his environment/circumstances. Chiron could ve got out of jail

White Heron Literary Analysis

the nest, Sylvia ... watched the young man with loving admiration and she had never seen anybody
so charming and delightful. Like many love stricken individuals, they would do many things for
their target of affection, so one would assume that Sylvia would gladly and happily tell the hunter

t tell the man. I found this detail to be revealing to the story s meaning of being connected to nature

Essay on Creon as the Tragic Hero in Sophocles Antigone
Creon as the Tragic Hero in Antigone
This essay will compare two of the characters in Antigone , Antigone and Creon, in an effort to
determine the identity of the tragic hero in this tale.
To identify the tragic hero in Sophocles renowned play Antigone , we should first consider both
the elements present in Greek tragedies and what characteristics define a tragic hero. Aristotle s
definition of tragedy is: Tragedy is a story taking the hero from happiness to misery because of a
fatal flaw or mistake on his part. To be a true tragic herohe must also elicit a strong emotional
response of pity and fear from the audience. This is known as catharsis or purging of emotion. In
most cases the tragic hero begins ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This illustrates that although she begins the play in misery she continues to suffer throughout the
play.
Antigone has a possible flaw in that she is too stubborn and persistent to obey Creon s order; I
know my duty, where true duty lies (Antigone, 128). Her punishment then encourages feelings of
pity from the audience because her deed was honorable and respectful towards her brother
Polynices. The chorus supports this view by bidding her a respectful farewell when she is taken
away, But glory and praise go with you lady (Antigone, 148). Antigone is also very proud, and this
may have contributed to her death. Even when she is caught she remains strong and defends
herself by claiming that the chorus thinks that her act was honorable, All these would say that what
I did was honorable (Antigone, 139). This causes Creon to remain angry with Antigone, you are
wrong, none of my subjects think as you do (Antigone, 140). If she had been more patient and less
defensive, Creon may not have been as harsh in the punishment he set for her.
Creon, who received the throne after the banishment of Oedipus, begins Antigone with high status
as the king of Thebes. He is fortunate to be honored as Thebes appointed king during her triumph
over the army of Polynices, Creon, son of Menoeceus, Whom the gods have appointed for us in our
recent change of fortune (Antigone, 130).

Negative Impact Of World Bank Structural Adjustment Program
NEGATIVE IMPACTS OF WORLD BANK S STRUCTURAL ADJUSTMENT PROGRAM (SAP)
IN GHANA
INTRODUCTION:
Writing about the negative impacts of The World Bank Structural Adjustment Program in Ghana,
my country of origin is something I can do with my eyes closed, because being an ordinary
Ghanaian, born and raised in Ghana, I do not need a research to know what these institutions have
done to the developing countries they impose their ill intended programs on. Even the blind can
feel hunger, lack of access to good health care, high tariffs on basic utilities such as electricity and
water which is as a result of privatization. This paper is going to highlight on the negative impacts
of the World Bank s sponsored Structural Adjustment Program implemented by the government of
Ghana from 1982 to 2008.
STRUCTURAL ADJUSTMENT PROGRAM 1982 2008
This is what a researcher could say about this program to paint the big picture for readers, Clearly,
the World Bank s structural adjustment of Ghana is a textbook example of how to ruin a country.
The ruthless denial of mineral wealth, food, medical care, education and even water has made the
population destitute spectators to the plunder of Ghana by foreigners. (Ismi. July, 2004).
This program has been repackaged and renamed over the period under different government
administrations but they say a decorated donkey is still an ass. At the beginning under the PNDC
/NDC administration it was called The Structural Adjustment Program which aim was

The Success And Success Of Sir Robert Gordon Menzies
Sir Robert Gordon Menzies was an Australian politician who served two terms as Prime Minister,
from 1939 to 1941, and, from 1949 until 1966. This amounts to a total of eighteen years, which is
a record for time serving as Australian prime minister (WEB). In this essay, I shall delineate and
analyse the secrets to Menzies success, which I attribute to several factors, many of which were
beyond the control of Menzies himself. Even before entering politics, Menzies developed talents
that would serve him well for political success. Namely, during his time studying and practising
law, Menzies developed a particularly strong oratorical ability which benefited him throughout his
career. Additionally, it is clear from his days as a student that Menzies... Show more content on

It was at this time that Murdoch once again threw his support and influence behind Menzies,
which can be seen in an article that he wrote for the Herald which was titled This persecution of
Menzies should cease (MURDOCH 1943a p4 GRIFFEN 5). The stinging electoral defeat
suffered by the UAP under Hughes leadership acted to further damage the reputation of Hughes
which saw Menzies regaining support from members of parliament, and Menzies once again
found himself as the leader of the UAP (GRIFFEN 5). From here, Murdoch set to work
promoting and trying to bring about the creation of a new political party, a unification of non
labour parties with could legitimately challenge the labour party (GRIFFEN 5). In the wake of the
1943 federal election, Murdoch commented in the Herald that the failed election campaign by non
labour parties deteriorated from a bad beginning to a wretched end and that no good government
could be formed out of the present opposition parties (MURDOCH 1943b p4 GRIFFEN

  • 4. Geographical Benefits Of Eurasia Essay The geographical advantages of Eurasia allowed civilizations to develop productive agriculture, and domesticated animals as a result the Europeans had food surplus, developed immunity to epidemic diseases, and forged steel. These inherited advantages allowed them to decimate other civilizations and appropriate their resources making them even more powerful. Agriculture is only one of the many contributes to where we are today. Geographic location affects agriculture because each specific crop has needs, if you can t meet those needs, then you can t grow the crops. Some plants need super wet land and some need super dry land ,let s say you live in Papua New Guinea they live closer the the equator so they have the same weather year round. So if you re constantly getting the same amount of sunlight all year then you ll only be able to grow the same crops over and over again. Papua New Guinea had sago, to get sago people there would have to cut down the sago tree, cut the sago tree in half and collect the sago inside. With sago you have to have a wet climate, the sago tree takes three or four days to prepare. Sago does not last long after it is prepared, sago is low in protein and uses more calories then it gives. But Fertile Crescent on the other hand live farther from the equator, so they end up getting four seasons while rotating around the sun.Which leads to an advantage in almost everything. A change in weather four times a year gives them a chance to plant and grow ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Negative Effects Of Art Therapy On Older Adults Imagine receiving therapeutic treatment through painting, drawing, photography, music, acting, dancing, or any other form of creative expression. Therapeutic art has been shown to have power and influence on emotional and developmental states of individuals (Paskaleva Uzunova, 2015). In their professional paper, researchers Paskaleva and Uzunova discuss multiple benefits of art therapy on the body and mind. In particular, the knowledge that art acts as a non verbal communication of inner selves, and that it has evidence of increased emotional states, moods, and ideas is of great interest. Also, the finding that there is no significant restrictions on the positive effects of art therapy when considering age, gender, or education level, is promising due to the possibility of far reaching effects on a wide variety of people (Paskaleva Uzunova, 2015). This statement allows for the realization that older adults, no matter the age, can benefit from therapeutic art interventions. Certain research looks specifically at the effects of art therapy on older adults cognition, improvements in dementia patients states, the decrease in symptoms for older adults suffering from depression, and the improvement of quality of life through art intervention; from these studies, one can begin to theorize that the lives of the elderly can be changed for the better through art. Cognitive preservation is one of the main concern for older adults. According to Pike (2013) when referencing the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. The Great Depression And The Civilian Conservation Corps... The Great Depression decimated the economy in the 1930s. Specifically, men of the workforce experienced layoffs, the loss of incomes resulted in inability to purchase goods, the low demand led to oversupply, and the cycle restarted by employers cutting more jobs. In an effort to combat the depression, Franklin D. Rooseveltignited the New Deal: a plan to revive the failing economy. One program, titled the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), assisted successfully in gradually rekindling the workforce. In addition, the CCC influenced future decisions on similar situations such as granting employment following the 2008 economic recession. The CCC was a labor act established in 1933. It decreased the unemployment rate over 9 years by providing jobs to unemployed, young men affected by the Great Depression. Jobs provided by the CCC included contributions to park development, natural and historic site preservation, and forest management. In return for the work, the employees received a small income, education, and, in some cases, shelter. However, in 1934, government officials such as the assistant secretary of war, Harry H. • 10. What Is A Representative Democracy As stated in The Struggle for Democracy, the U.S. is a representative democracy, also known as a republic (). In this system of government, unlike a direct democracy in which all citizens vote on all public matters, elected representatives govern the people. The U.S. system consists of three separate governing branches, executive, judicial, and legislative, which all hold checks and balances on one another. These checks and balances were meant to ensure the U.S. would be as democratic as possible and prohibit one branch from gaining too much power. Throughout America s history, the system has predominantly been a success. In the world today, the United States is looked upon as a bastion for democratic principles. The U.S. State Department itself ardently embraces the lofty goals of promoting democracyaround the world, assisting those in foreign lands who wish to establish democracies, and denouncing regimes that deny citizens their rightful ability to conduct and participate in free, fair, and transparent elections (). Americans at large also support democracy enthusiastically. A myriad of citizen ardently proclaim the U.S. s democratic ideals and the freedoms they allow qualify the U.S. to be the greatest country in the world. While parts of this is true the U.S. is indeed a global advocate of spreading democracy and Americans enjoy many freedoms not privy to citizens living under repressive regimes such as Saudi Arabia or Pakistan the American political system as a whole ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is not good to feel too much joy nor to be glad that our body lives. For we matter not and it must not matter to us whether we live or die, which is to be as our brothers will it. But we, Equality 7 2521, are glad to be living. If this is a vice, then we wish no virtue. (Rand 11) The citizens of Anthem are not happy and until society changes, they can never be. Quality of life is having something to live for and human condition is actively looking for it for yourself. In Anthem, government tells the citizens what to believe and how to think, making it impossible for them to have an authentic quality of life. The government taught them that their lives are disposable and do not have much value. This decreases of life because these people cannot achieve true happiness due to the ideologies they follow unquestionably and trust. They do not have anything to live for save existence itself and they do not understand how much they are affected by that. Decreasing quality of life because of blind beliefs in a society s ideologies is just as bad as these people being taken advantage of by their system of government. The citizens of Anthem are consistently being used by the government because they choose to ignorantly believe their society s opinions. At the end of the story when Equality tries to analyze why his society is so corrupted, he summarizes his thoughts by writing What is freedom? Freedom from what? There is nothing to take a man s ... • 12. What Is Octavia Butler s Response To The Parable Of The Sower Parable of the Sower Response (Chapters 1 11) In an alternate reality eight years from now, America has become a ravaged landscape, dotted with walled communities. Islands amongst a shark infested ocean. Stars scattered across the emptiness of space. While this comparison may seem extreme, the similarities shared between Octavia Butler s post apocalyptic vision and present day America can be made apparent. Are we really living in delusional walled off communities? Many neighborhoods today are separated by both race and class. Like in the book, all Americans look forward to change, and yet change is just an elusive dream that the future will bring about a better tomorrow. Parable of the Sower is a reminder of how fragile we are as a country, and how we ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One part that caught my attention the most was the ending of the space program by newly elected President Donner. Space is a recurring theme, introduced near the beginning of the book when Lauren talks to her grandmother about the visible stars in the sky, discussing how city pollution blocked out the view of the stars in the past. This is a symbolization of how modernization and the rise of powerful corporate companies envelopes people in the haze of normalcy and safety, depriving them of the drive to change. This introduces a concept where people are blinded by external sources from reaching the stars, where space and the stars represent truth, ambition, and curiosity. As mentioned before, the presidential command to cut all involvement of funding space programs marks the abandonment of all these values. In a way, the whole country of America is the walled off community of Robledo, afraid to venture into the unknown, and living in ignorance through the thought that its inhabitants will always live to see another day. Americans cannot progress by blinding themselves to the truth, and must confront the fact that one day all things will come to an end. Lauren s father explains to her that, You ve ... • 13. Twezers Lab Report The predators in this experiment were three different types of tools, a tweezer, a wooden clothespin, and a clothes clip. At the start of the first round, there were ten beans for each different type of bean. Nearly all the white beans were taken out of the first round, only one survived. This was because the white beans were large, non slippery, and easy to catch. Red beans and green beans were not as easy to catch. Based on the data and the graph, the tweezers captured the most beans in this round and the clothes clip had the least (w/ only one white bean). In the second round, every white bean was captured and many red beans were captured. The green beans were not captured as often as either other bean. From this, it can be concluded that the tweezers are the only predator that can efficiently collect green beans based on the graph. As of round two, no other predator has managed to capture a green bean. Also, the clothes clip captured zero beans this round. From the data so far, it can be inferred that the tweezers have the highest ability to capture prey, while the clothes clip has the least (clothespin is in between).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is interesting to point out that the clothes clip has only captured one bean the past two rounds and had captured nine red beans this round. This is because the clothes clip gained a learned behavior that allowed it to capture beans much more efficiently. From now on, only green beans are left and this could mean the extinction of both the clothespin and clothes clip because only the tweezers can efficiently capture the green beans. This is very demonstrative of the process of natural selection and how organisms with the advantageous trait for survival will survive and pass on their genes, while those with disadvantageous traits will not live to ... • 14. Batwoman Research Paper Batwoman has one of the most interesting origin stories of all the comic heroines. In the year 1954, there was a book called the Seduction Of The Innocent by Fredric Wertham, which claimed had Batman and Robin of have a homosexual relationship (Madrid, 59) and also informed parents that their kids would copy the crimes seen in the comics (Simonson, 119). Back in 1954, it was frowned upon being gay. Batmanand Robin were one of the best sellers at DC comicsso In 1956, Batman was assigned a superheroine love interest heiress Katherine Kane, who adopted the masked guise of Batwoman to by charges of a homosexual relationship between the Caped Crusader and his young ally Robin (Misiroglu 316). Also to help remove the image of homosexuality in the comics DC Comics built a wholesome Batman family . Batman and Robin were also joined by Ace the Bat Hound, Bat Girl (not Batgirl, they are two different characters), and a magical imp named Bat Mite (Misiroglu 59). This was used to help remove the image of homosexuality in the comics. But it didn t really work, why? Batwoman would learn that her greatest obstacle wouldn t bring justice to Gotham City or not nefarious criminals of its underworld, but her idol, Batman. When the caped twosome meets, Batman tells Batwoman that crime fighting is too dangerous for a woman (Madrid 62 64). There definitely wasn t much of a romance going on, and relationship that Batman and Batwoman did have was not a good foundation for a love affair (Madrid 67). Nevertheless, Batwoman presence seemed to dispel the gay speculation (Madrid 67). She was in the comic books from 1956 to 1964 (Simonson 119) and was rebooted in 2006 (Simonson 149). This time, Harry was watching the suburban empire from which he had narrowly escaped, fly past in a dizzying blur. The bus was small and oddly smelled of raisins, but he was on his way. He had managed to elude Petunia s hawk like watch on him and prevail against all odds. In his hand, he still tightly clutched the locket, half afraid it would suddenly slip through his fingers. Quite honestly, it wouldn t surprise him if it did. In the wizarding world, anything was possible. Which was sometimes an unprecedented problem. Though he tried to ignore it, Harry couldn t help but remain curious over Petunia s peculiar anxiety. Lying awake in bed, he listened. The house was quiet for the longest time, aside from the low hum of the television. Then, Harry heard the phone ring. Petunia must ve jumped up suddenly, because he heard her chair scrape against the floor. Petunia hissed into the phone urgently. Swiftly slinking out of bed, Harry carefully opened his door. Edging along the hallway, he moved until Petunia s voice was just around the corner. Yes. I have it. I ve had it ever since Lily died. No. Lily s pensieve is safe. I understand. Throughout historical events including modern day occurrences, the conflict between environmental and humanitarian issues are vouchsafed to be unimportant. Per the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees is tasked with addressing the environmental effects and impacts on refugees, and states that the most significant problems from refugees [and camps] include deforestation, soil erosions and depletion and pollution of water resources (UNHCR Social). Yet, after numerous displacements in the Middle East, the world seemed poised to grant a higher priority to lower issues on the agenda for environmental stability. However, despite increasing awareness that environmental decline produces and is a byproduct of conflict, little is known about the linkage between refugee camps and the environment due to a lack of conceptual clarity. As a result, in the case of refugee camps and their ability to impact our environment, refugee camps are a global concern that affects everyone and our global ecosystem. By way of illustration, the dire living conditions in refugee camps [and the harboring diseases that they can create] are less often a focus for international humanitarian attention. In fact, many who are uprooted from their homes [during violent conflict] travel countless miles in search of safety [in refugee camps] only to face new perilous circumstances. • 18. The Ways Of Non Point Source Pollution During The Great Lakes The way of Non point source pollution in the Great Lakes Atmospheric precipitation Many contaminants settle out of the atmosphere, such as acid rain, the pollutants and nutrients will transport from distant places by air depositing into the lake as the form of rain. The first pollutants as atmospheric deposition on the Great Lakes were phosphorus. It is found that about 20 percent phosphorus entering Lake Michigan comes from the atmosphere by determination of rain, snow and dust. Since phosphorus pollution generated by this approach cannot be controlled, so it is more urgent to reduce the phosphorus content of detergent, sewer and effluent fertilizers. People found fish in a lake of Lake Superior in a remote island containing PCBs and toxaphene, and this place isolated with no direct way to pollution. This determines the long range transport of pollutants through the atmosphere and settlement in the lake. In fact the processes of material transport through atmospheric was very complex. For instance PCBs was insoluble in water, so as to re enter the atmosphere during evaporation or connected together into small particles. A lot of PCBs volatilize from the lake, meanwhile, PCBs coming from various parts of the air mass experience the sedimentation on the lake. Other than that the contaminated sediment is another way to cause pollution of the lake. This is problems of the most urban industrial areas. A Race United Essay When the first Irish immigrants landed on the eastern shores of America in the 18th century, they were met by intolerance from the Native whites who saw them as a threat to the American way of life. The Dangers of Foreign Immigration, an article written by Samuel Morse in 1835, exposits much of the anti immigrant sentiment prevalent in the 19th century. To the natives, the Irish were simply niggers turned inside out (Anonymous Satirism), who came to America as refugees from Ireland to deprive them of their wealth and prosperity. Thus, the immigrants of Erin were forced to join the ranks of the slave, the German, and the free Negro laborer at the very bottom of the American diaspora. Written in 1835, The Dangers of Foreign Immigrationwas not targeted at the earliest wave of Irish immigrants who arrived in the late 18th century. Unlike later generations, these early Irish Americans were not necessarily Catholic, and didn t always speak English, but rather Gaelic. By the time the second wave of Irish immigrants arrived in the mid 19th century, yet more differences existed between these two waves. Those immigrants who had arrived earlier were by now relatively more wealthy and established than their more recent counterparts. But through their common threads Irish men and women, the established communities provided financial and political aid to their newly arriving brethren. The Shamrock Friendly Association, an Irish aid group comprised of prosperous Irish American citizens, published an informational pamphlet in 1816 entitled Hints to Emigrants from Europe. In it, they tell Irish immigrants that they may derive benefit from the counsel and guidance of friends, and that if one has gone the road [they] are about to travel, by only showing [them] how it winds beyond the next hill, (Shamrock Friendly Association 4) they would be better able to navigate their path in America successfully. Culbertson and Gailey define missions as the attempt to fulfill God s call to make disciples of all people (Culbertson 224). In Discovering Missions, Culbertson and Gailey speak on the countless aspects of missions and the importance of global mission. The term missionmeans sending out or assigned task (Culbertson 9). Missiology is a reflection upon the practice of Christian mission (Culbertson 9). The difference between mission and missions is that mission is simply a response to God s calling and the term missions are referring to specific ways and organizational structures in which the Church s global outreach is carried out (Culbertson 11). The ultimate mission is discipleship. A strong foundation is required to accept such a calling and to be effective in it. If God s people today want to be covenant partakers, they must view global mission as something more than optional or tangential (Culbertson 35). Not everyone is called to do global mission. In other words, not everyone has the foundation required to answer to such a calling. In accepting a call to missionary work, one must put themselves aside for the sake of others. In addition, Mr. Blix mentions the intent of eliminating the Al Qaeda terror group in Iraq, but the terrorist group didn t exist in the country until after the invasion (Blix). Moreover, Mr. Blix elaborates by also stating how the locals of Iraq may have been against the 2003 invasion of the United States. He elaborates by saying that intent of entering Iraq was to set it up as a friendly base for U.S. troops capable to act, if needed, against Iran but instead [the invasion] gave Iran a new ally in Baghdad (Blix). Needless to say, this evidence can be used to explain why the initial entrance to Iraq was a bad idea from the start. Ten years later, Stephanie Condon of CBS writes, Americans are still politically divided over the war, though most say the U.S. should have avoided it (Condon). In addition, she too elaborates that there was evidence that year [2004] that the war was not going as planned such as the lack of weapons of mass destruction (Condon). With all of that information established it really is no surprise to see why Americans and Iraqis alike were frustrated with the ever lasting occupation of Iraq, which ultimately ended in 2011. • 35. Analysis Of National Lampoon s Big Five National Lampoon s Christmas Vacation details the crazy escapades of the Griswold family as they navigate the arrival of family, endure grouchy bosses, and struggle to create the perfect family Christmas. The family patriarch, Clark Griswold, is the main protagonist and demonstrates a variety of interesting psychological characteristics conducive to analysis. This paper assesses Clark from a trait perspective, focusing on his lack of conscientiousness, and a non trait, psychoanalytic perspective, by addressing how Clark regresses as a defense mechanism in response to tension and anxiety inducing situations throughout the movie. One salient aspect of Clark s personality that can be observed from a trait perspective is his lack of conscientiousness. The Big Five was established to create a standardized list of essential traits to explain how/why individuals are both similar and different in personality. The journey to establish the Big Five began with the Lexical Hypothesis, which took 17,953 adjectives and consolidated them to 4,500 enduring psychological traits, which were whittled to 35 clusters of personality, with a final factor analysis leading to the Big Five traits known today. Subsequent analysis and repeated testing has consistently yielded the same five traits: extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, neuroticism, and openness to experience. • 36. Url Is An Acronym For Uniform Resource Locator And Is A... URL is an acronym for Uniform Resource Locator and is a reference (an address) to a resource on the Internet. A URL is the fundamental network identification for any resource connected to the web. It s often easiest, although not entirely accurate, to think of a URL as the name of a file on the World Wide Web because most URLs refer to a file on some machine on the network. However, remember that URLs also can point to other resources on the network, such as database queries and command output. Most people realize that a space is not allowed in a URL. However, it is also important to realize as the URL string can only contain alphanumeric characters and !$ _+* () . Any other characters that are required in the URL must be encoded. The novel addresses the issue of identity, how it can be lost as well as recovered. Momaday offers insightful methods of recovering or attaining one s identity. Momaday once made the following now famous statement: We are what we imagine. Our very existence consists in our imagination of ourselves. Our best destiny is to imagine, at least, completely, who and what, and that we are. The greatest tragedy that can befall us is to go unimagined (Owens, 93). For Momaday, imagination is the key to identity, and it is this key that Momaday offers as a solution to the problem of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The path to imagination and identity lies in those things that show us who we are, that heal and make us whole, and that promote order and reality. Throughout House Made of Dawn, two of Momaday s methods to attaining identity reveal themselves to be, on this same path, running and stories. These methods are not separate, but intermingle and cross over one another at different times. Ultimately, through the utilization of these methods, one can gain a sense of identity and the ability to imagine oneself. At the novel s ending, this is exactly what Abel does. In the second paragraph of the prologue, Abel is running. The prologue begins with Abel running and ends with Abel running. The prologue, in a mythic time and place, tells the story, and how it will end, in accordance with traditional storytelling. (Owens, 96). We, the reader, know that Abel with find himself by the novel s end. However, what is important, is the way the story is told (Owens, 96). Thus, in finding running at the beginning and ending of the prologue, one can infer that running must be important to identity, because only when Abel has his sense of identity does he run. The portion of the novel following the prologue proves this to be true throughout. Owens says that for the Jemez Pueblo, the native community and culture in which the novel is set, running can have serious ceremonial applications and that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Causes Of Earthquakes By The Movements Of The Earth Cause of earthquakes: Earthquakes are caused by the movements of the earth. Large blocks of stone called tectonic plates are constantly moving creating friction and stress with each other. These earthquakes then cause massive damage above the surface. There are three different types of earthquakes. Convergent: This occurs when two plates crash into each other from separate directions, this sudden crash lasts until one plates goes over the other, this is called a thrust movement. Over millions of years this can cause mountains to form. Divergent: This happens when plates are forced apart, this is common on ocean floors as it creates deep sea trenches. It can also cause canyons. Transform: This occurs when two plates slide past each other,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Eg, a Mercalli scale of l is felt by very few people and causes no damage, while a Mercalli scale of Xll it is chaotic, the ground is visibly moving in waves, objects are thrown into the air, most structures are destroyed and people are fearing for their lives. These types of businesses are particularly significant for the global economy and for the commercial flow; they are known by governments worldwide for their contribution to the economic stability and growth, employment and new job creation and social cohesion and development (Morrison et al, 2003). The brain is a an array of complexities involving lobes, such as the frontal and temporal, that have different functions and control a different part of a human s life. I think that the more one digs deeper into the way that the brainworks, the more one begins to realize just how many things can go wrong in the brain which can lead to a lifetime of devastation. Looking at the bigger picture, I think that I am more than honored to work in any research project that involves anything remotely related to the neuroscience because I am always looking for ways to expand my knowledge about the brain and essentially the nervous systemin general. To be specific, I am interested in how to handle any dementia related diseases such as Alzheimer s or Parkinson s, since I think that these diseases along with diseases such as Huntington s affects a lot of people nationwide, and focusing research on neuroscience diseases in general will help and impact many individuals worldwide. Going into more detail, I would like to research what kind of mechanisms or biotechnology we can use in order to alert future patients of their future risk for these neuroscience diseases. For example, maybe the percentage of the time they stay in REM sleep might help with the configuration of a formula that can be generated into an app that tracks on sleeps states and combined with their genetic disposition, science will be able to determine their risk for Alzheimer s and so on. In addition, I would like to seek a research project that kind of nails down the diagnostic stage of Alzheimer s. Currently, there is research out there that talk about the buildup of plaque but there also counter arguments that state how 80 years olds present with this plaque do not even show the slightest symptoms of dementia which counters what modern medicineis saying about the plaques being linked to Alzheimer s. Although those two factors might, at first, appear to be the same, they are, in fact, different. MacKenzie defines sociopathy as a personality disorder characterized by a lack of social responsibility and failure to adapt to ethical and social standards of the community (Mosby s Medical, Nursing, Allied Health Dictionary, 2002, p. 1599). After she defines the many personality disorders she discusses in the article, she discusses how much of the research of behavioral disorders began in the 1800 s when mental asylums became popular (2014). The first classification of a disorder similar to sociopathy was manie sans delire or insanity without delirium. Even though psychopathy is the disorder that is said to be genetic, there are significant differences in the biological brains of individuals with sociopathic disorder and those without it. Everywhere people are always judging. Judgement from parents, from family, and even from friends is inescapable. People can tear themselves down in many ways, such as through school, not feeling they look good enough, and even just not feeling like they re ever good enough to be living on Earth. In Janice Mirikitani s poem SuicideNote, it talks about an Asian American student currently in college. She tries her hardest, she wants to succeed and make her parents proud. Her parents have high standards for her, as they want her to receive a 4.0 grade point average. Although she gives her best effort, her grade point average is still less than a 4.0, and for that reason her parents are not proud of her, she s not their perfect, ideal daughter. To identify the tragic hero in Sophocles renowned play Antigone , we should first consider both the elements present in Greek tragedies and what characteristics define a tragic hero. Aristotle s definition of tragedy is: Tragedy is a story taking the hero from happiness to misery because of a fatal flaw or mistake on his part. Antigone has a possible flaw in that she is too stubborn and persistent to obey Creon s order; I know my duty, where true duty lies (Antigone, 128). Her punishment then encourages feelings of pity from the audience because her deed was honorable and respectful towards her brother Polynices. The chorus supports this view by bidding her a respectful farewell when she is taken away, But glory and praise go with you lady (Antigone, 148). Antigone is also very proud, and this may have contributed to her death. Even when she is caught she remains strong and defends herself by claiming that the chorus thinks that her act was honorable, All these would say that what I did was honorable (Antigone, 139). This causes Creon to remain angry with Antigone, you are wrong, none of my subjects think as you do (Antigone, 140). If she had been more patient and less defensive, Creon may not have been as harsh in the punishment he set for her. Creon, who received the throne after the banishment of Oedipus, begins Antigone with high status as the king of Thebes.
