Sweatshops were first well known to the public eye when several major corporations
exploitation of workers were revealed during the late twentieth century. Sweatshops
generally are factories that provide workers with socially unacceptable working
conditions, especially dealing with clothing items. With the expanding apparel
industries around the world, more and more corporations are using sweatshop
factories to their advantage. Numerous companies claim that they are not
responsible for actions of those factories from which they purchase from because it
is not part of their corporation. However, action needs to be taken by the government
and individual corporations to improve the working conditions in sweatshop
factories. Due to the harsh working environment, insufficient pay, and other factors
that cause inhumane treatment of workers in sweatshops, the US government
should improve working conditions for workers, have stricter regulations on
sweatshops, and strive to improve the treatment of sweatshop workers across the

Abstract
Bananas and plantains (Musa spp.) are one of the major staple foods in the world. In
2006 the estimated world production of bananas was 80.6 million tons while 16.8
tons were traded (Cohen, 2011). Although bananas are common today, the origins of
the banana are complex and occurred over thousands of years during multiple stages.
Archeologists focused on the Kuk Valley of New Guininea, the area where the
domestication of bananas supposedly took place around 8,000 BCE (Before
Common Era) (Bot, 2007). The study of banana history has been difficult because
banana pollen and seeds were rare or absent at archaeological sites. It wasn t until
recent technologies and the use of multi disciplinary research that we could gain a
better understanding. Genetics and linguistic studies also help in understanding the
banana origin (Hirst, 2015). Diploid and triploid forms of bananas have been
identified and their distribution throughout the world is a key piece of evidence in
unlocking the truth about banana domestication.

nineteen fifties. Most just learned to deal with it behind their closed doors in
silence. During this time the divorce rate, according to an article published in 1973

Most women did not have the luxury of getting one due to the fact that most
husbands of that time had control of the household finances, not to mention that it

The Scarlet Letter was written by Nathaniel Hawthorne in 1850 which is based on
the time frame of the Puritans, a religious group who arrived in Massachusetts in the
1630 s. The Puritans were in a religious period that was known for the strict social
norms in which lead to the intolerance of different lifestyles. Nathaniel Hawthorne
uses the puritan s strict lifestyles to relate to the universal issues among us. The time
frame of the puritans resulted in Hawthorne eventually thinking that the puritans
lifestyle as too extreme. Transcendentalism was a philosophical way of thinking for
oneself, and not letting the belief of society alter the personal opinion.

The Perception of the Perception The subjective nature of perception is an inborn
characteristic humanity. However, humans found the ability to still classify
knowledge under two categories, objective and subjective. Knowledge in the
subjective sense, or subjective knowledge for short, is the individual knowledge that
each person gains through personal experiences. Artists often try to portray a scene
that has an emotional and psychological effect on the viewer, by drawing on their

Г P2 In this process, P1 is the original problem, practical or theoretical, TT is the
tentative theory that is offered to solve the problem, EE is the error elimination
where it is critically tested, and finally P2 is the problems that are left over and those
which are created by this process. The problems that scientists face are in the tentative
theory stage. In this stage, complications arise when the original problem is
theoretical. To provide some tentative solution to the problem the scientist must first
make observations formulate a hypothesis, test it under controlled conditions,
evaluate whether the tests adheres to the hypothesis, if it does not, then the
hypothesis is reformed and the process is repeated, however if it does hold true for
that situation, then the scientist may put it forth for critical evaluation by his peers.
More often than not, the theory never passes the critical evaluation, thus P2 is

Because justification of punishment, in general is unnecessary. It is the justification
of particular infliction of pain (or punishment) that can be enquired of. As a man
can legitimately ask for justification of a particular law of a state. However, nobody

Retribution assigns a punishment that is appropriate to the crime, which is ideal in
punishing criminals whereas general deterrence works to persuade society to obey
the law, and specific deterrence work. From the variety of utilitarian justifications of
punishment, retribution is the most convincing as its theoretical goals are sustained
through societies, whereas general and specific deterrence cannot be justified on their
own, as they do not match with retribution.
For retributionists, punishment is backward looking, justified by the crime that has
been committed and carried out to atone for the damage already done. Retributivism
covers all theories that justify punishment because the offender deserves it. This is
interpreted in two ways, either a person must be punished because they deserve it
(deserving is a sufficient reason for punishment), or a person must not be punished
unless they deserve it (deserving is a necessary but not sufficient condition for
punishment). There are two distinct types of retributive justice. The classical
definition embraces the idea that the amount of punishment must be proportionate to
the amount of harm caused by the offence. Many strands of retrivbutism including
