Social Media Argumentative Essay
Crafting an essay on the subject of social media, specifically in an argumentative style, can be
both challenging and intriguing. The complexity arises from the multifaceted nature of the topic,
involving various perspectives, opinions, and ongoing debates. Social media is a vast and
dynamic realm, encompassing numerous platforms, societal impacts, technological aspects, and
ethical considerations. To produce a compelling argumentative essay, one must navigate through
this intricate landscape, carefully selecting and organizing information to present a well-rounded
viewpoint.
Researching for such an essay involves delving into the ever-evolving world of social media,
examining its influence on communication, relationships, politics, and culture. Additionally, it
requires a critical analysis of the positive and negative aspects of social media, considering issues
like privacy, misinformation, and mental health implications. Balancing these elements while
maintaining coherence and persuasiveness poses a significant challenge for the writer.
Moreover, the essay demands a structured argument that effectively communicates the writer's
stance on the topic. This necessitates a clear thesis statement, logical flow of ideas, and evidence-
backed claims to support the chosen perspective. Handling counterarguments and addressing
opposing viewpoints adds another layer of complexity, requiring careful consideration and a
nuanced approach.
Furthermore, the ever-changing landscape of social media introduces an element of timeliness to
the essay. Staying updated on current trends, controversies, and advancements is crucial to
ensuring the relevance and credibility of the arguments presented. The writer must navigate
through a sea of information to filter out the most pertinent and impactful details.
In conclusion, crafting an argumentative essay on the topic of social media demands a thorough
understanding of the subject, adept research skills, and the ability to navigate through a complex
and dynamic environment. However, with dedication and a strategic approach, one can
successfully navigate these challenges and produce a thought-provoking and well-reasoned essay
on this pervasive aspect of contemporary society.

Reflective Essay On Loss Of Life
Just the mere thought of dying makes me feel petrified. In just a snap of a finger it
can alter someone s life. No one really ought to think about their own death.
Thinking about it felt like it would happen sooner. To come to the point, I am not
yet ready. Hence, I was still enjoying this stunning life I was facing. I am still
dreaming and desiring. I am not yet pleased of what I accomplished.
According to S. Luper (2014), death is said to be the end of life. He said that being
conscious doesn t literally meant being alive. Dead means a loss of capacity.
Advocate of the loss of life claims that if it exists, it is alive, but if not, then it is not
alive. Believing in afterlife will be the only thing which will make us feel that this
event in our life will be our transition to the next big step we are going to face. So
we need to keep our feet on the ground, continue our faith and discover the whole
new world waiting for us.
I am fully aware that death will come. Maybe today, tomorrow, or the next day. No
one really knows. Before this loss of life I will undergo, I look forward to leaving my
loved ones in a peaceful condition. As a matter of fact, I believe that acceptance
would be my best preparation for my morality. Since no one knows when this so
called judgment day will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As I always tell myself, every end will give me a new beginning and this time it was
my life with God. A new dimension that will surely amaze me. The afterlife that I
believe will let me experience the extreme happiness that won t be experienced here
on earth. Stated in John 11:23 26, Jesus said to her, Your brother will rise again.
Martha said to him, I know that he will rise again in the resurrection on the last
day. Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me,
though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall
never die. Do you believe
Advantage Of Fuzzy Logic
Abstract: It is a well known widely accepted fact that the static spectrum allocation
has led to the under exploitation of the available frequency band. This problem can be
mitigated by cognitive radio technology. It is a concept which with its learning ability
is aware about its environment and intelligently adapts to it with objectives like
reliable communication, efficient utilization of spectrum and minimal or no
interference among users.
Various techniques have been suggested in the research works to access the spectrum
dynamically in a cognitive radio environment. These techniques basically use the
concepts of Artificial Intelligence. Game theory, Markov chain models, Auctioning,

Fuzzy logic is an attractive technique particularly in cases where target problems
are difficult to model with traditional mathematical models, but are easier to
understand by human at the same time With the characteristic of future cognitive
radio in mind, the capability of fuzzy logic offer good potential to be applied.
Instead of using complicated mathematical formulations, fuzzy logic uses human
understandable fuzzy sets and inference rules (e.g. IF, THEN, ELSE, AND, OR,
NOT) to obtain the solution that satisfies the desired system objectives. The main
advantage of fuzzy logic is its low complexity. Therefore, fuzzy logic is suitable for
real time cognitive radio applications in which the response time is critical to system
performance. A fuzzy logic control system can be used to obtain the solution to a
problem given imprecise, noisy, and incomplete input information. In general, there
are three major components in a fuzzy logic control system: fuzzifier, fuzzy logic
processor, and defuzzifier (Figure 4.4). While the fuzzifier is used to map the crisp
inputs into fuzzy sets, the fuzzy logic processor implements an inference engine to
obtain the solution based on predefined sets of rules. Then, the defuzzifier is applied
to transform the solution to the crisp output. Fuzzy logic is often used in decision
making to select the best suited SU for spectrum access at a given time. This
technique when combined with neural networks is used in CR networks, multihop
routing or for detecting unauthorized
Mosaic Dietary Laws
Mosaic Dietary Laws
By Bryan Leinweber
October 31, 2003
Introduction The Mosaic dietary laws, the laws imposed by the directives of Moses
on the Israelites, extended from earlier restrictions that had been placed on the eating
habits of the human race. The Old Testament is full of directives regarding food
consumption and God s law, and even Genesis addresses limitations imposed on
certain types of food consumption. Primarily, the restrictions placed on the
consumption of certain types of meat, a limitation that continues in rules for
maintaining a Jewish kosher home, relates directly to what is viewed as the rules
for the holy people of God. The people of God, then, are expected to recognize that
God is to be obeyed, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The call for prohibition from consumption of pork and some scaleless fish was in
fact a consideration based on the belief that unrefrigerated, these could produce
considerable illness (11). Though the generalized view was that there was an
abhorrent element to these types of meat or animals, the development of
regulations regarding their consumption may have been more protective than
anything else. Further, prohibitions were also placed on the consumption of meats
from animals that consume other animals. It was believed, for example, that
animals that are carnivorous could spread their evil spirit to the people who eat
them. But there was little evidence of a directive from God for this and there was
distinct permission given to the people of Israel under the leadership of Noah to
consume animals following the great flood (Genesis 9: 2 3). The prescription for
distinguishing between clean and unclean animals, then, occurred as an element
of the belief in the need for sacrifice of animals at the altar of a temple (before a
priest) (Exodus 16:3) (12). The ... provisions ordained for the sacrificial worship of
God in the Mosaic code clearly indicate a central Temple cultВ… (13). Unclean
animals, then, prescribed under the directives in Genesis (7:2 8) relate to the
separation of clean and unclean animals following the flood, and the use of clean
animals as a part of the sacrificial process of this
Personal Narrative-Co-Capitalist
As I walked (stumbled is a more apt term) from the front door of my startup s office
building to the waiting group of equally stunned co workers, my thoughts were
why did this happen? Just fifteen minutes earlier, our CEO unceremoniously
relieved us of our duties and a team of hired security. Shock, dismay, fear, and a
little anger coursed through my body. After all, this was my baby. I had started
and grown this biotech company with a close friend, three years prior, from
nothing. We were its founders. A feeling akin to being a parent. It was our idea
brought to life in the form of hardware and software. At that moment, staring
blankly into the distant hills of Whiting Ranch and running past events through my
mind on fast forward, I knew I had to be smarter. Furthermore, each past event
melded together into a single narrative in my mind and a focused picture began to
emerge from the blurriness. My partner and I made a deal with the devil of Venture

The Hound Of The Baskervilles Embedded Narrative
The Hound of the Baskervilles combines essentially two main embedded narratives
into one frame narrative which creates a one story, there is first the frame narrative
of the detective and then the embedded narrative of the legend and well as the
narrative of Sir Charles death and Sir Henry s coming. By embedding the narratives
into the frame narrative, you get one story of Sherlock Holmesworking on a case that
has to do with the Hound of the Baskervilles. The sensible and logical detective
side of the novel takes root whenever Holmes is present in the narrative. In these
sections of the book, logical reasoning overplays the eerie events that go on at
Baskerville Hall. For a good part of the story, Holmes is not present, which leads the

Management Planning – Boeing Corporation
Management Planning Boeing Corporation
Management: Theory, Practice and Application/MGT330
Management Planning Boeing Corporation
Management planning is the first basic process in a series of four fundamental
management functions. The planning function is a vital for any company because it
is a process of formulating goals, provides focus to achieve those goals, and gives
direction in the attainment of the goals. Boeing is a large, global corporation and many
internal and external factors effect its business. Boeing must adhere to certain
regulations, such as those instituted by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

The last step of the planning process is controlling and monitoring and is ongoing.
All levels of managers are involved in this process using controls that measure the
performance and progress of the plan. This step also allows adjustments to the plan
because changes sometimes occur or the plan was executed improperly. The strategic,
tactical, and operational planning must be aligned in order for a plan to succeed.
Legal Issues, Ethics, and Corporate Responsibility
Many internal and external factors influence planning management. Legal issues can
destroy a businesses reputation and affect its profitability. In the 1998, Boeing settled
a gender discrimination case and agreed to pay $75 million dollars to the accusers.
Women employees accused Boeing of paying them significantly less wages than
employees who were men. According to BLR.com (2010), Boeing admitted no
wrongdoing but agreed to change its hiring, pay, promotion, and complaint
investigation procedures (HR and Employment Law News, para. 2). As a result of the
lawsuit, Boeing used the planning function in the human resources management.
Other issues influence Boeing s planning function.
Boeing and its managers are not innocent from unethical behavior. A CEO of
Boeing was fired in March 2005 for participating in an extramarital affair (Holmes,
2005). This was a violation of Boeing s ethics code that the CEO expected

easy as it can be; divorce is not an easy thing for anyone to go through. I will be
focussing on two key issues, effects of the transition and the emotional support
needed to make it easier; divorce has many different effects, among the effects are
the possibility of having to move away leaving friends but there are also the new
starts, choice of who they are going to live with as well as have tragic effects on

Annie Hall By Woody Allen
The main protagonist Alvy Singer is a neurotic Jewish comedian who has been
getting the psychoanalysis. He frequently looks into the past events to explain his
present feelings and actions. Alvy is an unadaptable person who doesn t change
much throughout the film. Another protagonist Annie Hall is a singer. She is a
dynamic character who is opposite to Alvy. When Annie sings at the bar, in Annie s
point of view none of the audiences bother to care. The camera keeps changing from
Annie s point of view and audience s point of view to show the contrast. This
symbolizes the struggles in a relationship.

and present exists in one screen and revisit his childhood. This can be seen in
Annie Hall where Alby travels back to his childhood. The flashbacks don t reflect
in chronological order. Through Woody Allen s reinterpretation he developed in
his own style and made it into romantic comedy film. Alvy revisits his life through

why he can t have a successful relationship. At first, he goes through his childhood,
but later finds himself questioning his relationship with his first two wives, the
good old days with Annie and the episodes of why he broke up with Annie. The
reliance on Alvy s psychoanalytic and the use sex as life s important motif was
inspired by Freud and the flashback develops in Freud s psychoanalytic perspective.
The protagonist talking to the audience and using subtitles was influenced from
Godard s film. The double exposure image which separates Annie s body and soul
was influenced by Akira Kurosawa s Drunken Angel and the soul symbolizes her true
mind.

Summer Camp Activities Essay
What are Summer Camp Activities? 10 Tips
Summer is an excellent period for the residents of the United States of America and
other places in the world. During this time, people perform a variety of activities for
fun and learning. Summer camping is one of the most common activities carried out
by many people in the world. A summer campis a program with a series of activities
where people meet at a particular place to camp, have fun, know each other and
perform other things with their friends and strangers. The multiple activities
performed by campers during this period are essential because they bring happiness

They have adequate knowledge about camping. Therefore, they know which
activities are appropriate for campers of all ages. Additionally, they are aware of
things that boost the confidence of youths, kids, and adult campers during these
periods. If you consider their opinions, you will succeed in organizing a perfect
summer camp.
6. Consider the Size of the CampSite The size of the campsite can also determine the
type of summer camp activities. If the place is spacious, you can engage in numerous
activities, including horse riding and other racing competitions. However, if the
compound is not big, the activities will be limited to the space available. Therefore, if
you are planning to hold multiple activities, you should hire a large compound that
will accommodate all the campers.
7. Theme of the Summer Camp
In every event organized by campers, it has a theme. It is the topic that guides all the
programs of the event. For instance, the theme of a summer camp can be Youth
Enlightenment. Therefore, the activities should match effectively with the theme of
the event. If it is a youth affair, the activities carried out by the youths during the
camping session should enlighten and empower
Story Of An Hour Critical Analysis
The Story of an Hour , by Kate Chopin, portrays a new perspective about marriage
ideals in the 1890s. Mrs. Mallard, the wife of Brently Mallard, hears the tragic news
about her husband s death and reacts as the society would expect with sorrow. Soon,
however, she experiences the joy that comes with freedom and no bondage of
marriage holding her down. As the plot continues, she finds out the information about
her husband s deathwas false and she loses her life: When the doctors came, they
said she had died of heart disease of joy that kills (525). Although the doctors
believed that she died of happiness, she actually died because she lost her freedom. In
The Story of an Hour, Chopin depicts Louise s dream of achieving the forbidden
freedom and the difficulties of becoming a single unit in marriage through the use
of point of view, symbolism, repetition, and dramatic irony to convey the meaning
of the story. Chopin writes the story in the third person limited point of view which
indicates that only Mrs. Mallard s thoughts are available to the reader. The story is
told by a separate narrator, which has a hidden meaning to it. During the 1890s,
women, just like Mrs. Mallard, did not speak their minds. Mrs. Mallard is portrayed
as a delicate woman suffering from a heart problem to the other characters while the
reader finds out that she is in an unhappy marriage. Chopin wrote this short story in
limited third person to emphasize a problem that women had to deal with

WW2 Propaganda
From 1941 to 1945, the United States fought in the second world war after the
Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. It had created a chaotic environment for America as
a whole; panic spread across the nation and many were fearful of the Axis powers.
Because the government is an accurate representation of its people, the people will
always reflect the behaviors of their government. Thus, nations needed to remain
strong and tenacious in their efforts to support allies and defend against enemies. An
effective method of doing so was through the wide use of propaganda. Through
movies, animations, and formal and broadcasted speech, the United States used
influential pieces ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Using propaganda as a service announcement allowed the government to get money
to fund the war. In junction with animated propaganda was movie based
propaganda. Director Frank Capra produced seven films from 1943 to 1944,
collectively called Why We Fight, portraying Germany, Italy and Japan as nations
of inhuman murderers. The film was produced as a response to Leni Riefenstahl s
film Triumph of the Will and had a tough time convincing non interventionist
America to get involved in the war. Capra s goal was to let the enemy prove to our
soldiers the enormity of his cause and the justness of ours (Wikipedia, Why We
Fight). In order to persuade Americans to support the war, Capra took out many
facts from the film in order to paint the Allies, especially the Soviets, as good guys.
The Nazi Soviet Alliance, the Soviet s invasion of Poland, and Soviet occupation of
the Baltic States were all excluded.
Another form of propaganda used by Americans during World War II were speeches.
One such speech, Four Freedoms, was given by Roosevelt during his 1941 State of
the Union Address before the United States officially joined the war. It outlined the
four freedoms that would be guaranteed to all people across the world: the freedom
of speech; freedom of worship; freedom from want; and freedom from fear (Foley
58). And since Americans believed that the U.S. was a symbol
Immigration Reform s Domino Effect

situations immediately at hand, but also those for generations to come. This paper
will be delving into immigration reform in Arizona, and more specifically the
negative effects that the border surge has had on the socio economic status of the
Grand Canyon state. The motivation for choosing this topic comes from the time
spent personally living in Arizona for 12 years and seeing it as one of the most
dynamic states having to solve problems for a multitude of issues that arouse within
it. The main drive for this paper is the question that asks, what are the socio economic
impacts of the Arizona immigrationlegislation? This question focusing more on

A lot was learned from Wilson s article as it became clearer as to who was
supporting the idea of the immigration reform having negative effects on Arizona
socio economic status. Also the article posed a lot of critical questions that were
very helpful to the question this paper poses, but also challenged it with questions
asking how much do undocumented immigrants put into Arizona s economy? Will
businesses begin to fail as they are forced to conform to the new government border
surge and endure all the negative results that follow these big changes to Arizona s
cultural image? All very surprising as these were questions not yet introduced to this
paper. Relating back to class, Wilson is able to bring up concepts that can be
compared to lectures all the way back in week 2 talking about overpopulation and
resource usage. Although this paper is not about overpopulation the great number of
undocumented immigrants can pose a smaller scale problem in Arizona that could
fall into this category, as more immigrate the resources Arizona has to offer may not
be sufficient for the combined number of undocumented and documented citizens.
Now touching base with other half, the social effects of the immigration law reform in
Arizona now trickle down from the government and business troubles to the struggles
of everyday life for residents. This article looks into what economies essentially

the allocation of resources for particular project. This model could be summarized in
the below diagram with the significance of the new approach highlighted in the

Additionally due to frequent client interaction and innovative employee reward
program tied to value addition for client had ended up in being both client and
employee more satisfied with ICI. So eventually all the companies in business
process consulting will have to change their operations to this model to remain
competitive. So, Infosys consulting is certainly in the process of changing the rules of
the game in consulting industry.
Advantages and disadvantages of the model and base in India
Advantages:
Infosys, having based in India, has effectively capitalized on institutional voids in
factor market (HBR article 9 703 431) in this model by:
Exploiting its understanding of variable talent pool in India and using them
effectively for providing world class software solutions
Exploiting its experience in onsite offshore model software development process
Effectively applying the matrix quality measurement structure to this model to
measure the performance of every deliverable and hence increasing the quality of
product with each project
Clearly Infosys is able to exploit its position of base in India. Apart from the
capitalizing on institutional voids in factor market of India, Infosys has gained
additional advantages of the geographical locations of its base. 1 1 3 model can
effectively work day and night due to time difference between US and India. Having

Ethical Dilemmas Of Tyco
By being in a position that is high in ranking, filled with copious amounts of cash,
as well as lots of temptations, it does not mean that an individual has to take
advantage of his or her newfound power. Our case study this week is a perfect
example of identifying how easy it is to abuse power. Tyco is a company who is
facing some serious charges after the executives of Tyco were accused as well as
convicted of stealing from the company. The executive officers of Tyco are faced
with numerous charges because they had an extreme amount of power that they were
unable to handle which ultimately led to them abusing their company power by using
the companies assets for their own personal benefits. There is a multitude of ways
that this type of behavior could have been prevented, or minimized throughout the
executive officerpositions in Tyco. The company Tyco has a board of directors that
is set into place to prevent this type of behavior. The board of directors is supposed
to protect the shareholders from inappropriate actions in the company; they are the
voice for public. Since the board of directors were blind to this type of behavior the
entire Tyco company is now facing consequences for a few of their executives
unethical behavior and decisions, which is how the company became to be a
decentralized corporate institution.
Dennis Kozlowski was the mastermind behind all of the unethical decisions and,
actions that led to the near bankruptcy of the company. The scandal of Tyco was an
ever growing process that started when Kozlowski was on the verge of becoming
the new CEO of Tyco. Kozlowski greatly looked up to his mentor, friend, who also
happened to be the previous CEO of Tyco Joseph Gaziano. Kozlowski adopted
some Gaziano s harsh and very pricey lifestyle that ultimately led to his demise. His
lifestyle became so extravagant that nothing was every enough, he had a taste of the
living large lifestyle and he could not go back. Kozlowski and CFO Mark Swartz
were charged with roughly thirty counts of corruption, conspiracy, fraud, grand
larceny, and falsifying business records. However these two, Kozlowski and Swartz,
were not the only two employees involved, Mark Belnick former general counsel

The Women Of Brewster Place Analysis
Gloria Naylor s powerful novel, The Women of Brewster Place, consists of many
characters and many great themes, though, only one character in particular sticks out
the most: Mattie Michael. Since the longest individual chapter focuses on her, readers
get a glimpse at Mattie s life, struggles, and how she got to the unit known as
Brewster Place. With her constant recurrence throughout the novel, readers come to
understand her importance as she is the strong willed, backbone, and main ebony
phoenix of Brewster. Mattie Michael grew up in Tennessee with her family and the
father of her child, Butch Fuller. Everyone tells her to avoid him, including Butch
himself who warns her saying, eating cane is like living life. You gotta know when
to stop chewing when to stop trying to wrench every last bit of sweetness out of a
wedge.... trick is to spit it out when the wedge is still firm... It s hard, but you gotta
spit it out right then, or you gonna find yourself chewing on nothin but straw in that
last round (18). Butch clearly tells her about how he he lives his life, and his issue
with staying, yet, Mattie makes the mistake of getting herself involved which leads
to her being impregnated by him. This results in her father savagely beating her to
the point where she has to flee to Chicago and start her life alone raising her son.
Though, Mattie gets through all of this and finds herself in the grace of Ms. Eva who
shelters her. Then, after getting the house after Ms. Eva s death,

During the Nationalism era, when the Qing dynasty was overthrown and the
Republic of China was formed in 1912, the standardized language was further
implemented by Kuomintang the nationalist revolutionary party within the nation as
it brings a sense of unity and national identity. When scholars such as Sun Yat Sen
came back from Japan, and they saw how a single national language, Kokugo in the
Japanese context, has strengthen the nation as a whole. This was a notion noted by
the scholars that came back to China and as part of the revolution towards a
republic nation; it was a must to have a standardized language for everyone across
the country. When the Commission on the Unification of Pronunciation was set up
after the revolution, the organization set the standard Guoyu pronunciation of basic
Chinese characters. In 1920, one of the defined accords by the organization was the

Analysis Of The Movie Bird
On August 29th, 1920, Charlie YardBird Parker landed in this world and 34 years
later he flew away. Within those 34 years, music was eternally influenced by Bird,
and this influence continues to be celebrated all around the world. In 1988, Clint
Eastwood and Joel Oliansky worked together to create a documentary titled Bird
based on Charlie Parker s life. There are many story telling techniques used within
this film that aid in making it an extremely brilliant motion picture. Bird is very
accurate in portraying the reality of Charlie Parker s life, and this accuracy is
important because it will help to present and therefore preserve his legacy. A legacy
that will intrigue and inspire musicians forevermore.

Movie critic for the Chicago Sun Times Roger Ebert explains this scene, It shows
him touring the West Coast and hearing some simple truths one night from
Gillespie, who told him that the difference between them was that Diz took care of
business, and Charlie took care of screwing up. Gillespie was not a heavy drinker
or an avid drug user, unlike Charlie. In that way these two musical legends were
complete opposites. Because Bird focuses on this contrasting relationship, we are
given a clearer idea of who Parker was.
Included in the aspects of Bird that make it such a great film is the outstanding acting
performance by Forest Whitaker, who played Charlie Parker, and Diane Venora who
played Chan Richardson. Some critics believe that Bird was a bit too scattered, but

Hairspray Gun Essay
Fill the spray gun cup with water. Hook up the compressed air hose to the air inlet
fitting on the spray gun. Make the following basic adjustments to the spray gun: set
the fan wide open, turn the material adjustment knob to expose one thread, and set
the air pressure to 10 psi at the inlet for HVLP spray guns and 35 psi at the inlet for
conventional spray guns. Completed вќ‘ 2.Practice proper body position. Position
yourself at the front of the hood and stretch to make sure you can reach the rear
center of the hood. Hold the air hose behind your back with one hand. The air hose
must never touch the hood or any panel you paint. Keeping the air hose out of the
way takes considerable concentration. Completed вќ‘ 3.Make a few practice strokes...

must bend your wrist for uniform paint application. As you make strokes at a constant
distance and speed, practice keeping the spray pattern even. Completed вќ‘ 6.Once
you can make a stroke of uniform distance and speed with the proper fan orientation,

Maxwell Equations Essay
when attached to a solenoid it gives it a lot of power to do things like power houses.
The solenoid makes the electromagnetic field stronger causing it to do more and
bigger tasks.
Multiple scientist developed theories about electromagnetism. One of the most
popular ones is the Maxwell Equations. The Maxwell equations are equations
explaining electromagnetism and how it works. These equations were formed by
different equations and experiments. According to (Gale, 2001, WWW)Albert
Einstein James Clerk Maxwell set the platform for physics and future scientists.
Maxwell s theories were opposite from what other people thought. MaxwellВґs
theories also didn t have a lot of mistakes but there were quite a few mistakes in the

they set they set the platform for modern physics. Another scientist that helped with

Paper Florence Nightingale
The history of nursing has been well documented throughout the years. Their is
one nurse, in particular, who is recognized as the source of many changes in health
care we still see today. She is Florence Nightingale. By the age of 16, against her
family s wishes, Florence Nightingale decided to forgo the traditional route of
marriage and set her sights on nursing. Many refer to this period in time as the dark
age of nursing. Nurses were typically poor, unskilled and generally seen as
unsavory characters. Hospitals were known more as the place you go to die rather
than for providing life saving care. This did not deter Florence, she received her first
formal training as a nurseat Theodore Fliedner s hospital and school for Lutheran
deaconesses... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The war camp hospitals had high mortality rates due to lack of staffing and
unsanitary conditions. Seeing a need, Florence organized a group of women to
help. Their arrival was not welcomed, but their value became obvious when within
a six month span the death rate of soldiers had reduced from 40% to a mere 2%.
The nurses provided clean, efficient care as well as nutritious food. It was during
this time Florence received her famous nickname, lady with the lamp . She would
make rounds at night, oil lamp in tow, assessing patients and providing
companionship. Many found the light from her lamp as a source of comfort,
knowing they were diligently watched over. Upon her return from the war, she was
awarded 250,000 dollars from the British government. She used this money to open
St. Thomas Hospital and the Nightingale Training School for Nurses. She is also
known for creating the environmental theory and her book
Notes on Nursing: What it is and What it is Not outlines many of its details. She
believed in utilizing the environment to assist in recovery. This included things like
fresh air, safe water, sunlight and cleanliness of both the patient and their
surroundings. Florence Nightingale died at the age of 90. Through her work,
education, teachings and her writings she managed to elevate the field of nursing
from a disreputable profession to an honorable one. And in todays standards, the most
How Sport Is An Equal Opportunity For All Teams
In professional sports, where competition is at the highest possible level, one of the
most important things that a sport must have to succeed, is an equal opportunity
for all teams to win. This is called parity, and every sport tries to create this to have
their sport stay competitive and entertaining. Without parity, a small group of teams
will dominate their sport, and in the NBA, where first place receives the only prize,
the sport will become less competitive and lose its fan base, which represents the
revenue the league gains. One big factor in giving all teams a chance to win, is
through the market of the league and the system in which contracts are structured for
players. All sports have different team salaries, systems for how... Show more content

This has been a problem for smaller cities for years, which usually means that their
best strategy to get their star, is to hope they can get him in the draft. Another thing
that needs to be addressed with the contracts and player s values as a whole, is that
the difference between a star in the league and an average starter is greater in the
NBA than other sports like football, baseball, or soccer. With the nature of how
basketball is played versus other sports, a superstar like LeBron can potentially
lead any team to the playoffs if he is on it, where that can t happen in just about
any other sport. This is proven with some of basketball s advanced stats like
VORP(Value over Replacement Player), which says that a good player in the
league like Damian Lillard(3.8 VORP) or John Wall(3.7 VORP), still pale in
comparison to someone like LeBron with his massive (7.6 VORP)(Basketball
Reference). This means that a team with John Wall would win 10 less games than
one lead by Lebron James. This shows that the best NBA stars have a much larger
worth than the average or good players and in a world without a max contract,
would be paid even higher, seeing the commodity they are to the league. There are
other factors that make the NBA s problems with the max contract unique like, the
salary cap for each team and luxury taxes. Things like the NFL hard cap on their
team s salaries or the MLB s luxury taxes incentivize smart spending and
How The Profit Can Be Increase By Judged The Average...
Introduction:
The main reason for this survey is to analyse how the profit can be increase by
judged the average number of floor spaces or sales staff employed in a large retail
chain. By observing the averages that have been calculated in the Excel Spread Sheet
for takings, floor spaces and staff number. it can be possible to deduct which
department needs further development and how it can be developed.
Using a simplistic mathematical scheme to serve in making the right decision, it will
be explained how to grow the profit with neither more nor less information than what
was provided in the dataset.
Conclusion: An average number typically suggests the mean value in a data set;
however, in this analyse has been used two different types of averages which are:
the mean and median. As the mean is considered to be the one giving the most
accurate information about the average number of takings since it s about adding
up all the numbers form the data set and divided them by the total while the median
represents only the value that stands in the middle of the data set; in that way
resulting a common mistake such as: leaving one of the averages aside and not
analysing the accurate information from the data set. However, there are no
evidences to prove that both numbers are correct, as both are considered to be types
of averages in statistics. On the column chart provided below representing the
average takings for All Outlets, it can be seen a massive dropdown
The Importance Of Sustainable Development
A group of adolescents sitting inside an internet cafГ© are discussing their local
newscast website s trending topics. All though sustainable development has been a
topic of discussion for years, some teenagers are not aware of it. Ordinarily relatively
knowledgeable about diverse subjects, Ron interrogated the group for responses about
sustainable development. To which, Ami acknowledges ignorance of the subject.
Though not completely knowledgeable about sustainable development, Dena
communicated observation of people conversing about sustainable development,
noting that some were louder and more passionate than others about it. After locating
the definition of sustainable development electronically Jenny chimed in, this 1987
United Nations report states, sustainable development refers to a type of
development, stating that it will ensure that it meets the needs of the present without
compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs (as cited in
Aikins, 2014). Of course, this definition did not satisfy their inquisitive minds, so
they decided to further their investigation of sustainable development. Hayden and
Theo heard the group talking about sustainable development and expressed their
desire and willingness to assist them with researching the subject. After a brief
thought, the group unanimously welcomed Hayden and Theo to join them. Shortly
after joining the group, Theo presented the others with an article about sustainable

The Asian art academies are facing the same situation in the higher degree

The size and connectivity of the European market means that shifts in its regulatory
framework ripple with major consequences for global business. The EU s latest

While the existing system was designed to protect the private sphere from state

Measures intended for the protection of privacy morphed into a lever against the
private sector in tax compliance and foreign investment.
Impact of Enforcement and Harmonization
The 1995 Directive gave the EU institutions considerable power over the Member
States. Every Member State was required to create a Data Protection Authority (DPA)
to monitor compliance with data protection legislation. The DPAs enjoy extended
access to a large part of business information, handle claims from customers or
agencies, and initiate legal action against non compliance.
While this may increase consumer feelings of security relative to businesses, it
comes at the cost of privacy relative to the government. Financial institutions face a
heavy set of regulations to fully comply with the Directive. International monetary
transfers from the EU are covered under the Directive in Article 25 since such
transfers concern EU citizens data. These transfers are specially scrutinized because
of privacy concerns in other countries. However, many Member States, worried
about the economic effects of creating obstacles for foreign companies, allow the
transfers to occur even when they suspect a violation. While some transfers require
only the consent of the individual whose data is being transferred, others must be part
of approved Standard Contractual Clauses or require

as Good Queen Bess, Gloriana, or the Virgin Queen. During her reign, Elizabeth was
imprisoned, threatened by conspiracy, dealt with impending warfare, and had to

endured so much and brought so much culture during her reign that it s not surprising
that her long reign is called the Elizabethan Era, or the Golden Age of England.

Since Elizabeth I was excommunicated, she was forced to impose harsher laws on

If you are not prepared though, something bad could very well happen to you. Like
going off the side of the road (in this guys case) and crashing your car. If you don t
have car insurance in this case, then you are going to be screwed. Or take for
example something else like, you are on your way home for work after a long
night and your house is on fire. What do you do in this case? You can t run inside
of this flaming building and expect to get all of your things back. That is why you
need to always be prepared and ready in case anything like this would ever happen,
like having home owners insurance. Not everything though in life is always about
insurance. It is just better to prepared for the unexpected than be screwed when it
happens. In conclusion, car insurance is not just another thing that you need to buy
just because it is the law. Car insurance can be helpful in the most unexpected
situation that will ever happen. GEICO tries to tell us this by basically using a
metaphor. That they can be your friend when you need them the most. Just like a
real life friend, but they use squirrels and a station wagon to get this point across. I
hope by the time that you read this last sentence that you will understand this
commercial better now. The way that I do, maybe you might even laugh a little bit

How Does Nathaniel Hawthorne Use Nature In The Scarlet
Letter
In The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne, Puritans are in control of the
community and have the fundamental belief that everyone should be pure and free of
sin. Puritans consider sin to be unnatural and uncharacteristic of a good Puritan
Christian. Throughout the novel Hester Prynne and Pearl Prynne, Reverend
Dimmesdale, and even Roger Chillingsworth enter the woods in order to evade
persecution from the Puritans and to speak and act freely, if only for a brief amount
of time. Nature becomes the sanctuary for sin, making sin a natural and human
characteristic, which contradicts the beliefs of the Puritans. Hawthorne makes the
argument that nature is a place to hide, or shelter sin; nature becomes a place where
sin can be free from the structured Puritantown that is ruled by law and religion.
Hawthorne uses nature as the protector of sin to disprove the Puritan s beliefs that it
is unnatural to sin. Hawthorne is trying to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

She had wandered, without rule or guidance, in a moral wilderness; as vast, as

Puritans see living in disorder as a terrible punishment. Hester is forced to live in

this as a terrible consequence. What was meant to be a punishment is described as

running one lap around the track.
Extra Research: To determine what a subject s heart rate should be after exercising,
the target heart rate zone was discovered through research. The target heart rate zone
can be determined by calculating 50% 85% of the subject s maximum heart rate,
which is their age subtracted from 220 BPM.

The majority of the experiment was testing the numerical value of heart rate, so there
was very little qualitative results. However, as each participant was running they each
experienced being flushed and elevated breathing which are qualitative results.
Quantitative:
In total the average heart rate percentage change was 16.94% for athletes and 11.72%
for non athletes. They all ran the same amount, one lap around the school s track.
Analysis, Discussion, and Conclusion: The purpose of this experiment was to
determine whether athletes or non athletes would experience a high percent change
in heart rate after having experienced a raised heart rate, caused by running one lap
around the high school track. The agreed upon hypothesis was that the five subjects
in the athletes category would recover faster, in comparison to the non athlete
category, due to the fact that the athletes hearts are more frequently exposed to
elevated heart rates. After examining the collected data, it was determined that the
hypothesis was refuted, given that the average percent change of the athletes was
+16.94%, which is 5.22% greater than the average percent change of non athletes, as

it is an indispensable element which embodies the spirit of resisting of Yoruba

The Black house kids created tracks that solidify for people like Robert Williams that
Chicago is the birthplace of house. Yet, this stance gets at the ways house music is
solely viewed as electronic, upbeat songs that incorporate the 4/4 rhythmic pattern
(four to the floor), synthesizers, and drum machines. And what this framing of house
does is circumvent the first and second cohorts that produced the first soundscape of
the music and well as the first iteration of the culture and spatialities that are
connected to house in Chicago. It also ignores the many years of work that Black gay

two critical insights that pinpoint the roots of house beginning with the first and
second cohorts that lent themselves to the third and fourth. This history must be

house community in Chicago as two distinct soundscapes. Secondly, the lived
experiences of Black gay males that fostered the spatialities of house in its infancy

The Hero s Journey Theory
So what makes a hero? What must a person have to be considered a hero? Is it his
or her strength, powers, courage, morals, integrity, or knowledge? According to
Joseph Campbell, a hero properly is someone who has given his or her life to
something bigger than himself or other than himself. So with the help of Joseph
Campbell s Hero s Journey theory, evidence will be given to prove why the Flashis a
hero, and not a cold hearted villain like Captain Cold. To start off we ll begin with
Campbell s first stage of the Hero s Journey. According to his theory, the story must
begin where the hero was once normal. To define normal regarding the Flash, the
Flashwould have had to be someone who existed without any powers, living a
regular citizens life, and oblivious of the adventures to come. So before Barry
became known as the Flash, he was first known as Barry Allen. Barry valued
family, justice, and the safety of everyone. He was a regular citizen who worked
for Central City s police department as a Police scientist, too. With the following
being stated, we can conclude Barry was already a hero before his special powers.
First, Barry is working to fight justice as an employee of Central City s police
department. Secondly, he enjoys fighting for justice in general. And lastly,
considering Barry s personality and values he isn t selfish for power, disrespectful,
dishonest, and greedy like most villain characters. However, according to Campbell s

Swat Team Research Paper
America was first introduced to the first SWAT teams in the year of 1966. SWAT,
which first stood for Special Weapons Attack Team, and then was later changed to
Special Weapons and Tactics, was founded by Daryl Gates who was a police
commander for the Los Angeles Police Department. SWAT teams are different from
regular law enforcement in the fact that they are far more advanced and handle far
more advanced and dangerous situations. They use more powerful weapons and
more experienced policing tactics. They could be considered the elite members of
law enforcement. SWAT teams do not just deal with the normal criminal. They handle
the extreme criminals who often defy law enforcement. SWAT teams were founded
in an effort the lower the massively high crime rate that was dominating the late

in this case perhaps because they give of a more intimidating vibe; dressed in full
armor, camouflage, and carrying large automatic weapons. This might make criminals
and perpetrators think twice, instead of there being just a regular police officer with a
handgun patrolling the streets, who may not give off the same intimidating
Analysis Of Othello And Trifles
At first glance or giving a slight ear to the two plays Trifles and Othello the
differences can be very noticeable. Othello was written by a man William
Shakespeare and Trifles by a women Susan Glaspell. While Glaspell authored her play
in the twentieth century, Shakespeare on the other hand penned his play in the
seventeenth century. Trifles theme dealt with isolation whereas jealousy was the
theme in Othello. When taking a closer look and compare the two the use of verbal
irony, situational irony, and dramatic irony are used in the same way to keep the
audience intrigued and full of suspense. Glaspell comes out the shoot running with
verbal irony the title, Trifles , which means a small thing or something of less... Show

Glaspell wittingly places Mrs. Peters, the sheriff s wife in the middle of committing
a crime yet while setting her up as Mrs. Doright. The County Attorney affirms this
when he states, No Mrs. Peters doesn t need supervising. For that matter, a sheriff s
wife is married to the law (Kennedy Gioia 861). This keeps the audience wondering
if she is going to uphold what she knows about the law or go forth in breaking it, yet
another technique in heightening the suspense. Correspondingly, Shakespeare
masters this element of situational irony in Othello . At the start of the play Iago does
not think Cassio is fit for lieutenant, but rather it should be him. Iago makes this
assertion, Despise me If I do not. Three great ones of the city, In personal suit to
make me his lieutenant, (Kennedy Gioia 963). Furthermore, Iago discredited
Cassio s ability by saying, Forsooth, a great arithmetician, One Michael Cassio...
(Kennedy Gioia 963). Iago desire was to get Cassio from his position so he could
have it, he felt that Cassio only had book smarts about war and not actual
participating in such acts. The irony in it comes at the end when Iago dies and
Cassio is still alive and is promoted to general: For they succeed on you. [To Cassio]
To you, Lord Governor, (Kennedy Gioia 1060). Glaspell and Shakespeare kept their
Measuring Gross Income Data Is A Measure Of Economic
Welfare
Evaluate the extent to which Gross Income Data is a measure of economic welfare.
Morven Chan
Economic welfare is defined as the level prosperity and financial satisfaction of
participants in an economy. Economic welfare can often be assessed through
statistics such as the level of employment. National income statistics is defined as
the value of goods and services produced in an economic system over a period of
time. National Income can be broken down into four different parts which include
Gross Domestic Product (GDP), Gross National Product (GNP), GDP per capita, and
GNP per capita. National Income is used for variety of purposes in our economy.
Firstly, national income statistics are important in that most of the government s future

Therefore as is shown through the expenditure method, the equation for GDP
becomes:
GDP=C+G+I+(X M)
Looking at the equation we can see that the issue arises that from the equation,
there is absolutely no calculation which addresses the economic welfare of the
people and thus, as an economic indicator GDP excels, but as a welfare indicator,
this could suggest that it may not be the best choice. Gross national product of a
specific country is the sum of the goods and services produced by citizens of a
country domestically and the output from external sources which are owned/part of
the specific country. The symbol used to represent gross national product is GNP
and the equation for the GNP can be simply written as:
GNP=GDP+Net property income from abroad
GNP and GDP per capita are the values for GDP and GNP divided by the
population of the country. They give an average value for the output of product per
individual in the country. Before looking at the cons of national income statistics, we
must first note that there are redeeming points to using national income. For one,
national income does a very good job of representing growth in the economy.
However as we know economic growth is not necessarily always a positive thing.
The issue with wealth distribution is one of the many reasons why national income
Mission Command Analysis Essay
MISSION COMMAND ANALYSIS:
COLONEL JOSHUA CHAMBERLAIN AT THE BATTLE OF LITTLE ROUND
TOP
In late June 1863, Confederate General Robert E. Lee s Army of Northern Virginia
passed through western Maryland and invaded Pennsylvania. General Lee believed
that by invading the North, he could draw the Union Army of the Potomac away
from their defenses and force them to come after him. He also assumed the people
of the North would be so demoralized if the Union were to lose another major battle,
especially if it was fought on Northern soil, that President Abraham Lincoln would be
forced to negotiate a settlement of the Civil War. On 01 July 1863, then Colonel
Joshua Chamberlain, and his 20th Maine received word to begin movement to ...

COL Chamberlain continued to improve his understanding of the situation
throughout the battle. He understood that he had to trust his men and rely on his
experiences, along with his critical and creative thinking, to devise a plan to hold the
Unions far left flank on Little Round Top and defeat the Confederates. As
commanders understand the operational environment and the problem, they can
begin visualizing the desired end state and solutions to solving the problem.6 After
noticing that Confederate artillery fire had slackened, COL Chamberlain s
experience told him that Confederate troops were coming and quickly began to
envision an operational approach that would achieve his desired end state to hold
his position on the far left of Little Round Top. Through his critical and creative
thinking, COL Chamberlain showed a skill common within good tactical leaders.
He mentally visualized possible countermoves against imagined threats to his unit.
While analyzing the terrain he could see that the 83rd Pennsylvania was forming
on his right but there was nothing at all on his left. COL Chamberlain could see a
dark bulk of a larger hill to the left of his men and determined that if the
Confederates got an artillery battery on its crest the Confederates could take Little
Round Top and subsequently drive off the Union Army. Visualizing how this could
affect his desired end state, COL Chamberlain decided that he would send a company
to the 20th Maine s
Sexism and Disney
For decades now, Disney Corporation has been providing us with countless films
made to delight and amuse children and adults alike. But not all Disney films seem
particularly appropriate for their target audience. Many of these films portray
violence, gender inequality, and skewed views of leadership roles that seem
altogether inappropriate for impressionable young children. Better and more
contemporary heroines need to be added to Disney s wall of princesses in order to
counteract years of sexism. Admittedly, many of Disney s original works are not
being viewed by their intended audience. Author of Patricia DigГіn Regueiro s states,
it may be of interest to know that in his early cartoons created by Walt Disneywere

Once again Snow White is saved not by her actions or words, but by her looks
alone. While violence is shown to a far lesser extent in this film compared to
others, it is still prevalent. When the Queen orders the huntsman to kill Snow
White, she does not ask for a simple death. She orders the man to hack out the
young girl s heart and bring it to her (in the original story, she does this so she can
eat it. Thankfully, they do not mention that in the movie). Despite being the
protagonist, Snow White is never given a chance to lead her own life. From the
very beginning of the film, she is always owned by someone else. First her
stepmother controls her life, then the huntsman orders her to leave, then it is the
dwarfs (sic) who control and care for her well being, and then it is the prince.
Never once does she resist or attempt to go out on her own. By the end of the film,
she does not even protest a near stranger kissing her as she sleeps. In fact, she
figures that s reason enough to run away with him! Beauty and the Beast is another
film with questionable morals. Despite a sixty year time span between the two films,
gender relations changed very little. Though the main characters come off as slightly
more rounded, there are still some eerie instances that should be addressed. Belle is
(yet again) a stunning young woman who is revered throughout for her
Environmental Impacts Of Landslides
Landslides are among the most common natural hazards and are the most damaging,
leading to a variety of human and environmental impacts. Landslide is the result of a

A social democratic or coordinated variety of capitalism seemed like South Africa s
destiny. CME type coordinated wage setting seemed realistic and major effort was put
into developing regional and national level social democratic institutions. Organised
business and labour agreed to discuss the impact of labour relations on the economy.
National Economic Development and Labour Council (NEDLAC)
According to the leading business representative Nedlac was intended to inaugurate
a new era of inclusive consensus seeking and ultimately decision making in the
economic and social arenas (Parsons 2007, 9). Nedlac failed. The first obstacle was
the fact that peak level business organisation was racially divided which made
national coordination impossible. BSA turned into BUSA and from it emerged BBC.
The second blunder came from government when they only referred some economic
policies to Nedlac. The post apartheid Labour relations act was negotiated in Nedlac
before it went to parliament; sadly they neglected to send the 1996 Growth
Employment and Redistribution (GEAR) macro economic framework through
Nedlac. Even though it would curb government spending, enhance private investment
and liberalise aspects of the labour laws to promote job creation, it was still met with
great public condemnation
Death Penalty Persuasive Essay
An Eye For An Eye
Have you ever watched a movie like Alice in Wonderland where every few scenes
somebody is put to death? This really happens to this day. The real question is if you
think it should stay or be abolished. The death penalty is needed and shouldn t be
revoked in any of the states that support it. Capital punishment, or the death penalty,
is one of the oldest forms of punishments. Some of the ways societies used to kill
people was: boiling to death, hanging, and decapitation. Today some countries still
use these methods, however here in the United States capital punishment is mainly
death by lethal injection, electric chair, or firing squad. The death penalty should
be in place for three reasons. The first being the religious aspect, the deterrent of
crime, and the overcrowding as well as the cost. The United States is as close as
you can be to a theocracy without being one. Think about our pledge of allegiance,
One nation under God and also on our paper money there is, In God We Trust
printed on them. Our founding fathers did not do a great job at separating church
and state. Now it is what every American uses and says everyday no matter what
religion they are. Since there is no getting away from the beliefs of the world then
God is possibly the most important reason to keep capital punishment. In Genesis
9:6: it is written, Whoever sheds human blood, by humans shall their blood be shed
This can be easily understood as, if somebody kills they are to

Vivisection In The Island Of Dr. Moreau
A Victorian Nightmare
In The Island of Dr. Moreau, vivisection is the main conflict attributed to the novel. It
is clearly an ethical issue that lingers throughout the story. The novel s time period,
the Victorian era, was a spectacle of culture, innovation, and debate. The Victorians
often believed in the roles of women being less to that of man, and they also had
beliefs about the common imperialistic moves of the British Empire. The most
common Victorian theme in the The Island of Dr. Moreau is vivisection. It plays a
key role in intertwining the Victorians views during that time into the novel. Using
vivisection, Dr. Moreau creates beast like people that roam the island that have to
follow the law contributing to the imperialism factor. In fact, the novel features many
characters that makes the reader wonder one consider if Herbert George Wells was
sane. Regardless, Wells successfully crafted a science fiction piece that grabbed the
reader s attention from the beginning with many moral and societal differences that
occurred in Victorian ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With England colonizing at full throttle, many people had issues with it.
Considering the loss of the American colonies due to a remarkable rebellion,
imperialism may have left a bitter taste into the English s mouths with the debt that
the Americans denied and the loss that the English took. Wells projected the beast
people similarly to the savages that the British feared. The racism in British
imperialism is there in every step of the way. The imperialism aspect of the novel
was the second most important theme which seems as if it could have been taken
out all together and the book would have been the same. When one looks at all the
implicit suggestions in the novel, imperialism tends to appear quite often. It may not
have appeared as explicitly as vivisection, but the significance of imperialism was
clearly a big part of the
The Vanquished Auguste Rodin Essay
Auguste Rodin was born in Paris in on November 12, 1840. He was born into a
poor family and his father was a policeman. Although he was a talented artist as a
teenager, he lacked encouragement which made him choose a different career.
Rodin worked as a bricklayer for 20 years. Then he went to Italy and during his
stay he found inspiration there. On his return to Paris, he sculpted his first major
piece, The Age of Bronze , originally named The Vanquished . Rodin said that,
Much as I love the Greeks, there is one thing I love more and that is nature. (AMA
130). This is very true of his sculptures. Although there is the presence of a body you
can see the true nature of emotion through it.
School was hard for Rodin because he had a hard time reading, but he took interest
in drawing. He started taking art classes when he turned 13. This is when students
and teachers gave him no recognition on his art and Rodin started doubting himself.
At 17 years old, he applied ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Italy is known for the deep art history with artists like Michelangelo, Donatello, and
Raphael to name just a few. Rodin was inspired so much by these artists that he
made his first major piece, The Vanquished . It was made in 1876 and stands at six
feet tall, making it a life size sculpture of a nude man. This sculpture showed his
attention to such detail that when people came to see this sculpture they did not
like how real it looked. People rumored that it was a fake sculpture. In the 1800 s
art had to be made for a reason and it had to have a theme. It does not represent most
art from that time that had to with mythology. With its lack of purpose critics did not
see The Vanquished as real art. All of the criticisms made him change the name to
The Age of Bronze . This also led to changing his style from something realistic to
more naturalistic abstracted ideas. To do this he stopped being detailed and showed
the inner turmoil s of human emotion through their
The Global Consumption Of Oil
Oil is an important component in many industries and the majority of global energy
needs are generated by oil. Hence, it is unsurprising that the annual global
consumption of oil is around 30 billion barrels and it accounts for around one third of
all energy consumed . According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration
(EIA),Venezuela and Saudi Arabiaare the top 2 countries with the most proven crude
oil reserves and over 90% of their export revenues come from oil . In addition,
since 1980, OPEC s share of oil revenue in total exports has been consistently over
60%, with the net export revenue at US$730 billion . Hence any disturbance in the
oil sector will cause a drastic impact on these economies. This can be illustrated in
research where it has provided evidence for a negative relationship between
resource abundance and growth. For instance, since the 1970s, Nigeria has been
exporting around $10billion worth of oil annually but during same period the
proportion of its population living on less than $1 per day has doubled from 36% to
70% (Sala I Martin and Subramanian, 2003). Nevertheless, recent studies have shown
that there can also be a positive relationship. Countries rich in oil, such as Malaysia
and Norway have managed to achieve sustained economic growth.
As such, understanding the relationship between oil abundance and growth is vital as
the findings would aid in formulating policies to help oil rich countries combat their
shortcomings and achieve
Blood Is The Essence Of Life
The blood is the essence of life, and is responsible for carrying oxygen and nutrients
to various parts of the body, where they are needed. It also carries toxins away to
where it can be broken down. Therefore, blood circulation is an important functionof
the body.
Poor blood flow has been found to be the cause of several ailments, among which is
stroke. Severe headache, dizziness, loss of memory and mental focus have also been
attributed to poor blood circulation.
Poor blood circulation is also associated to the various cardiovascular dieases that are
now common in the society.
This is mostly as a result of a sedentary lifestyle, long working hours sitting in one
place, poor diet, dehydration and bad habits. However, spending a few minutes ...

It pumps out oxygenated blood that are distributed to different parts of the body
through the vein. Also, when de oxygenated blood arrives back to the heart, it infuses
it with oxygen again before sending it on its way.
When the heart rate is increased as a result of physical activity, the heart is able to
pump faster, ensuring that blood gets to the extremities.
HELPS QUIT BAD HABITS
Yoga also helps when trying to quit bad habit such as smoking. It conditions your
body, so that you become mindful of what goes into it.
Why do you need to quit smoking? Smoking is bad for your health. It is commonly
said that smoking damages the lungs and can cause several respiratory diseases.
Smoking also impedes blood circulation. Smoking has been found to cause increased
blood pressure. This is because it narrows the veins and arteries. It also causes the
blood to clot.
You can improve blood circulation by quitting smoking, and yoga can help you.
ELEVATES THE LEGS
By raising the lower parts of your body, deoxygenated blood is able to flow back to
the heart faster, where they are oxygenated again.
Yoga helps send blood from the extremities to the heart. It also improves blood flow
to the brain. This is possible because of the inverted poses incorporated in

Social Media Argumentative Essay.pdf

  • 1. Social Media Argumentative Essay Crafting an essay on the subject of social media, specifically in an argumentative style, can be both challenging and intriguing. The complexity arises from the multifaceted nature of the topic, involving various perspectives, opinions, and ongoing debates. Social media is a vast and dynamic realm, encompassing numerous platforms, societal impacts, technological aspects, and ethical considerations. To produce a compelling argumentative essay, one must navigate through this intricate landscape, carefully selecting and organizing information to present a well-rounded viewpoint. Researching for such an essay involves delving into the ever-evolving world of social media, examining its influence on communication, relationships, politics, and culture. Additionally, it requires a critical analysis of the positive and negative aspects of social media, considering issues like privacy, misinformation, and mental health implications. Balancing these elements while maintaining coherence and persuasiveness poses a significant challenge for the writer. Moreover, the essay demands a structured argument that effectively communicates the writer's stance on the topic. This necessitates a clear thesis statement, logical flow of ideas, and evidence- backed claims to support the chosen perspective. Handling counterarguments and addressing opposing viewpoints adds another layer of complexity, requiring careful consideration and a nuanced approach. Furthermore, the ever-changing landscape of social media introduces an element of timeliness to the essay. Staying updated on current trends, controversies, and advancements is crucial to ensuring the relevance and credibility of the arguments presented. The writer must navigate through a sea of information to filter out the most pertinent and impactful details. • 2. Reflective Essay On Loss Of Life Just the mere thought of dying makes me feel petrified. In just a snap of a finger it can alter someone s life. No one really ought to think about their own death. Thinking about it felt like it would happen sooner. To come to the point, I am not yet ready. Hence, I was still enjoying this stunning life I was facing. I am still dreaming and desiring. I am not yet pleased of what I accomplished. According to S. Luper (2014), death is said to be the end of life. He said that being conscious doesn t literally meant being alive. Dead means a loss of capacity. Advocate of the loss of life claims that if it exists, it is alive, but if not, then it is not alive. Believing in afterlife will be the only thing which will make us feel that this event in our life will be our transition to the next big step we are going to face. So we need to keep our feet on the ground, continue our faith and discover the whole new world waiting for us. I am fully aware that death will come. Maybe today, tomorrow, or the next day. No one really knows. Before this loss of life I will undergo, I look forward to leaving my loved ones in a peaceful condition. As a matter of fact, I believe that acceptance would be my best preparation for my morality. Since no one knows when this so called judgment day will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As I always tell myself, every end will give me a new beginning and this time it was my life with God. A new dimension that will surely amaze me. The afterlife that I believe will let me experience the extreme happiness that won t be experienced here on earth. Stated in John 11:23 26, Jesus said to her, Your brother will rise again. Martha said to him, I know that he will rise again in the resurrection on the last day. Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe
  • 3. Advantage Of Fuzzy Logic Abstract: It is a well known widely accepted fact that the static spectrum allocation has led to the under exploitation of the available frequency band. This problem can be mitigated by cognitive radio technology. It is a concept which with its learning ability is aware about its environment and intelligently adapts to it with objectives like reliable communication, efficient utilization of spectrum and minimal or no interference among users. Various techniques have been suggested in the research works to access the spectrum dynamically in a cognitive radio environment. These techniques basically use the concepts of Artificial Intelligence. Game theory, Markov chain models, Auctioning, Neural Networks, Multi Agent Systems and Fuzzy Logic approaches ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Fuzzy logic is an attractive technique particularly in cases where target problems are difficult to model with traditional mathematical models, but are easier to understand by human at the same time With the characteristic of future cognitive radio in mind, the capability of fuzzy logic offer good potential to be applied. Instead of using complicated mathematical formulations, fuzzy logic uses human understandable fuzzy sets and inference rules (e.g. IF, THEN, ELSE, AND, OR, NOT) to obtain the solution that satisfies the desired system objectives. The main advantage of fuzzy logic is its low complexity. Therefore, fuzzy logic is suitable for real time cognitive radio applications in which the response time is critical to system performance. A fuzzy logic control system can be used to obtain the solution to a problem given imprecise, noisy, and incomplete input information. In general, there are three major components in a fuzzy logic control system: fuzzifier, fuzzy logic processor, and defuzzifier (Figure 4.4). While the fuzzifier is used to map the crisp inputs into fuzzy sets, the fuzzy logic processor implements an inference engine to obtain the solution based on predefined sets of rules. Then, the defuzzifier is applied to transform the solution to the crisp output. Fuzzy logic is often used in decision making to select the best suited SU for spectrum access at a given time. This technique when combined with neural networks is used in CR networks, multihop routing or for detecting unauthorized
  • 4. Mosaic Dietary Laws Mosaic Dietary Laws By Bryan Leinweber October 31, 2003 Introduction The Mosaic dietary laws, the laws imposed by the directives of Moses on the Israelites, extended from earlier restrictions that had been placed on the eating habits of the human race. The Old Testament is full of directives regarding food consumption and God s law, and even Genesis addresses limitations imposed on certain types of food consumption. Primarily, the restrictions placed on the consumption of certain types of meat, a limitation that continues in rules for maintaining a Jewish kosher home, relates directly to what is viewed as the rules for the holy people of God. The people of God, then, are expected to recognize that God is to be obeyed, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The call for prohibition from consumption of pork and some scaleless fish was in fact a consideration based on the belief that unrefrigerated, these could produce considerable illness (11). Though the generalized view was that there was an abhorrent element to these types of meat or animals, the development of regulations regarding their consumption may have been more protective than anything else. Further, prohibitions were also placed on the consumption of meats from animals that consume other animals. It was believed, for example, that animals that are carnivorous could spread their evil spirit to the people who eat them. But there was little evidence of a directive from God for this and there was distinct permission given to the people of Israel under the leadership of Noah to consume animals following the great flood (Genesis 9: 2 3). The prescription for distinguishing between clean and unclean animals, then, occurred as an element of the belief in the need for sacrifice of animals at the altar of a temple (before a priest) (Exodus 16:3) (12). The ... provisions ordained for the sacrificial worship of God in the Mosaic code clearly indicate a central Temple cultВ… (13). Unclean animals, then, prescribed under the directives in Genesis (7:2 8) relate to the separation of clean and unclean animals following the flood, and the use of clean animals as a part of the sacrificial process of this

Personal Narrative-Co-Capitalist As I walked (stumbled is a more apt term) from the front door of my startup s office building to the waiting group of equally stunned co workers, my thoughts were why did this happen? Just fifteen minutes earlier, our CEO unceremoniously relieved us of our duties and a team of hired security. Shock, dismay, fear, and a little anger coursed through my body. After all, this was my baby. I had started and grown this biotech company with a close friend, three years prior, from nothing. We were its founders. A feeling akin to being a parent. It was our idea brought to life in the form of hardware and software. At that moment, staring blankly into the distant hills of Whiting Ranch and running past events through my mind on fast forward, I knew I had to be smarter. Furthermore, each past event melded together into a single narrative in my mind and a focused picture began to emerge from the blurriness. My partner and I made a deal with the devil of Venture Capitalists. Naive and unaware, we were easy prey for a silicon valley shark. I have always had a creative side despite my rigid, small town upbringing on the prairies in Western Canada. Namely, equipping my professional toolkit with more diverse tools than I now hold and achieving my ultimate goal of running a successful company that improves

The Hound Of The Baskervilles Embedded Narrative The Hound of the Baskervilles combines essentially two main embedded narratives into one frame narrative which creates a one story, there is first the frame narrative of the detective and then the embedded narrative of the legend and well as the narrative of Sir Charles death and Sir Henry s coming. By embedding the narratives into the frame narrative, you get one story of Sherlock Holmesworking on a case that has to do with the Hound of the Baskervilles. The sensible and logical detective side of the novel takes root whenever Holmes is present in the narrative. In these sections of the book, logical reasoning overplays the eerie events that go on at Baskerville Hall. For a good part of the story, Holmes is not present, which leads the reader

Legal Issues, Ethics, and Corporate Responsibility Many internal and external factors influence planning management. Legal issues can destroy a businesses reputation and affect its profitability. In the 1998, Boeing settled a gender discrimination case and agreed to pay $75 million dollars to the accusers. Women employees accused Boeing of paying them significantly less wages than employees who were men. According to BLR.com (2010), Boeing admitted no wrongdoing but agreed to change its hiring, pay, promotion, and complaint investigation procedures (HR and Employment Law News, para. 2). As a result of the lawsuit, Boeing used the planning function in the human resources management. Other issues influence Boeing s planning function. • 11. Story Of An Hour Critical Analysis The Story of an Hour , by Kate Chopin, portrays a new perspective about marriage ideals in the 1890s. Mrs. Mallard, the wife of Brently Mallard, hears the tragic news about her husband s death and reacts as the society would expect with sorrow. Soon, however, she experiences the joy that comes with freedom and no bondage of marriage holding her down. As the plot continues, she finds out the information about her husband s deathwas false and she loses her life: When the doctors came, they said she had died of heart disease of joy that kills (525). Although the doctors believed that she died of happiness, she actually died because she lost her freedom. In The Story of an Hour, Chopin depicts Louise s dream of achieving the forbidden freedom and the difficulties of becoming a single unit in marriage through the use of point of view, symbolism, repetition, and dramatic irony to convey the meaning of the story. Chopin writes the story in the third person limited point of view which indicates that only Mrs. Mallard s thoughts are available to the reader. The story is told by a separate narrator, which has a hidden meaning to it. During the 1890s, women, just like Mrs. Mallard, did not speak their minds. Mrs. Mallard is portrayed as a delicate woman suffering from a heart problem to the other characters while the reader finds out that she is in an unhappy marriage. Chopin wrote this short story in limited third person to emphasize a problem that women had to deal with

The War After The Japanese Attack On Pearl Harbor Ivan Peng, Erin Wong Galloway HUSH Period 6 11 February 2017 WW2 Propaganda From 1941 to 1945, the United States fought in the second world war after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. It had created a chaotic environment for America as a whole; panic spread across the nation and many were fearful of the Axis powers. Because the government is an accurate representation of its people, the people will always reflect the behaviors of their government. Thus, nations needed to remain strong and tenacious in their efforts to support allies and defend against enemies. An effective method of doing so was through the wide use of propaganda. Through movies, animations, and formal and broadcasted speech, the United States used influential pieces ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Using propaganda as a service announcement allowed the government to get money to fund the war. In junction with animated propaganda was movie based propaganda. Director Frank Capra produced seven films from 1943 to 1944, collectively called Why We Fight, portraying Germany, Italy and Japan as nations of inhuman murderers. The film was produced as a response to Leni Riefenstahl s film Triumph of the Will and had a tough time convincing non interventionist America to get involved in the war. Capra s goal was to let the enemy prove to our soldiers the enormity of his cause and the justness of ours (Wikipedia, Why We Fight). In order to persuade Americans to support the war, Capra took out many facts from the film in order to paint the Allies, especially the Soviets, as good guys. The Nazi Soviet Alliance, the Soviet s invasion of Poland, and Soviet occupation of the Baltic States were all excluded. Another form of propaganda used by Americans during World War II were speeches. One such speech, Four Freedoms, was given by Roosevelt during his 1941 State of the Union Address before the United States officially joined the war. This paper will be delving into immigration reform in Arizona, and more specifically the negative effects that the border surge has had on the socio economic status of the Grand Canyon state. The motivation for choosing this topic comes from the time spent personally living in Arizona for 12 years and seeing it as one of the most dynamic states having to solve problems for a multitude of issues that arouse within it. A lot was learned from Wilson s article as it became clearer as to who was supporting the idea of the immigration reform having negative effects on Arizona socio economic status. Also the article posed a lot of critical questions that were very helpful to the question this paper poses, but also challenged it with questions asking how much do undocumented immigrants put into Arizona s economy? Will businesses begin to fail as they are forced to conform to the new government border surge and endure all the negative results that follow these big changes to Arizona s cultural image? All very surprising as these were questions not yet introduced to this paper. Relating back to class, Wilson is able to bring up concepts that can be compared to lectures all the way back in week 2 talking about overpopulation and resource usage. Although this paper is not about overpopulation the great number of undocumented immigrants can pose a smaller scale problem in Arizona that could fall into this category, as more immigrate the resources Arizona has to offer may not be sufficient for the combined number of undocumented and documented citizens. Now touching base with other half, the social effects of the immigration law reform in Arizona now trickle down from the government and business troubles to the struggles of everyday life for residents. Another thing that needs to be addressed with the contracts and player s values as a whole, is that the difference between a star in the league and an average starter is greater in the NBA than other sports like football, baseball, or soccer. With the nature of how basketball is played versus other sports, a superstar like LeBron can potentially lead any team to the playoffs if he is on it, where that can t happen in just about any other sport. This is proven with some of basketball s advanced stats like VORP(Value over Replacement Player), which says that a good player in the league like Damian Lillard(3.8 VORP) or John Wall(3.7 VORP), still pale in comparison to someone like LeBron with his massive (7.6 VORP)(Basketball Reference). Introduction: The main reason for this survey is to analyse how the profit can be increase by judged the average number of floor spaces or sales staff employed in a large retail chain. By observing the averages that have been calculated in the Excel Spread Sheet for takings, floor spaces and staff number. it can be possible to deduct which department needs further development and how it can be developed. Using a simplistic mathematical scheme to serve in making the right decision, it will be explained how to grow the profit with neither more nor less information than what was provided in the dataset. Conclusion: An average number typically suggests the mean value in a data set; however, in this analyse has been used two different types of averages which are: the mean and median. As the mean is considered to be the one giving the most accurate information about the average number of takings since it s about adding up all the numbers form the data set and divided them by the total while the median represents only the value that stands in the middle of the data set; in that way resulting a common mistake such as: leaving one of the averages aside and not analysing the accurate information from the data set. However, as each participant was running they each experienced being flushed and elevated breathing which are qualitative results. Quantitative: In total the average heart rate percentage change was 16.94% for athletes and 11.72% for non athletes. They all ran the same amount, one lap around the school s track. Analysis, Discussion, and Conclusion: The purpose of this experiment was to determine whether athletes or non athletes would experience a high percent change in heart rate after having experienced a raised heart rate, caused by running one lap around the high school track. The agreed upon hypothesis was that the five subjects in the athletes category would recover faster, in comparison to the non athlete category, due to the fact that the athletes hearts are more frequently exposed to elevated heart rates. After examining the collected data, it was determined that the hypothesis was refuted, given that the average percent change of the athletes was +16.94%, which is 5.22% greater than the average percent change of non athletes, as shown in CHART #3

It was the Black, Latinx, and LGBT communities who saw the white washing and erasure of their sexual identities to appease dominant white audiences that were enthralled with this faux version of disco. And once the economic profitability of disco was discovered, it swiftly arose and transformed to accommodate white, heteronormative ideologies for mainstream music and pop culture spaces that ignored the implications of white washing and heterosexist undercurrents. Yet, this stance gets at the ways house music is solely viewed as electronic, upbeat songs that incorporate the 4/4 rhythmic pattern (four to the floor), synthesizers, and drum machines. And what this framing of house does is circumvent the first and second cohorts that produced the first soundscape of the music and well as the first iteration of the culture and spatialities that are connected to house in Chicago. It also ignores the many years of work that Black gay males in South Shore put forth that helped to cultivate house before and after Disco Demolition Night and Steve Dahl s anti black and anti gay rhetoric. Therefore, I offer two critical insights that pinpoint the roots of house beginning with the first and second cohorts that lent themselves to the third and fourth. Secondly, the lived experiences of Black gay males that fostered the spatialities of house in its infancy stages in South Shore in the early seventies which led to the opening

According to Joseph Campbell, a hero properly is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than himself or other than himself. So with the help of Joseph Campbell s Hero s Journey theory, evidence will be given to prove why the Flashis a hero, and not a cold hearted villain like Captain Cold. To start off we ll begin with Campbell s first stage of the Hero s Journey. According to his theory, the story must begin where the hero was once normal. To define normal regarding the Flash, the Flashwould have had to be someone who existed without any powers, living a regular citizens life, and oblivious of the adventures to come. So before Barry became known as the Flash, he was first known as Barry Allen. Barry valued family, justice, and the safety of everyone. He was a regular citizen who worked for Central City s police department as a Police scientist, too. With the following being stated, we can conclude Barry was already a hero before his special powers. First, Barry is working to fight justice as an employee of Central City s police department. Secondly, he enjoys fighting for justice in general. And lastly, considering Barry s personality and values he isn t selfish for power, disrespectful, dishonest, and greedy like most villain characters. However, according to Campbell s Hero s Journey process, Barry

When taking a closer look and compare the two the use of verbal irony, situational irony, and dramatic irony are used in the same way to keep the audience intrigued and full of suspense. Gross national product of a specific country is the sum of the goods and services produced by citizens of a country domestically and the output from external sources which are owned/part of the specific country. She orders the man to hack out the young girl s heart and bring it to her (in the original story, she does this so she can eat it. Thankfully, they do not mention that in the movie). Despite being the protagonist, Snow White is never given a chance to lead her own life. From the very beginning of the film, she is always owned by someone else. Hence, it is unsurprising that the annual global consumption of oil is around 30 billion barrels and it accounts for around one third of all energy consumed . According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA),Venezuela and Saudi Arabiaare the top 2 countries with the most proven crude oil reserves and over 90% of their export revenues come from oil . In addition, since 1980, OPEC s share of oil revenue in total exports has been consistently over 60%, with the net export revenue at US$730 billion . Hence any disturbance in the oil sector will cause a drastic impact on these economies. This can be illustrated in research where it has provided evidence for a negative relationship between resource abundance and growth. For instance, since the 1970s, Nigeria has been exporting around $10billion worth of oil annually but during same period the proportion of its population living on less than $1 per day has doubled from 36% to 70% (Sala I Martin and Subramanian, 2003). Nevertheless, recent studies have shown that there can also be a positive relationship. Countries rich in oil, such as Malaysia and Norway have managed to achieve sustained economic growth. As such, understanding the relationship between oil abundance and growth is vital as the findings would aid in formulating policies to help oil rich countries combat their shortcomings and achieve
