Why People Should Limit The Junk Food
When it comes to America and death, heart failure invites the Grim Reaper even more than cancer.
Heart disease is the number one leading cause of death in America, leaving a yearly toll of 720,000
heart attacks and 600,000 deaths. To help prevent heart failure, one should eat a diet low in total fat,
saturated fat, cholesterol, and sodium. Yet, is the toll of heart failure truly a surprise after looking at all
of what America is really eating? Life in America is all about the delicious junk food, whether or not it
is slowly killing the consumer. This is why people should limit the junk food that they consume; it is
simply a death sentence to the body, mind, environment and economy. Many people do not even
consider junk food as real food. It is made to be prepared and served as quickly as possible. While
consisting of preheated or precooked ingredients, it is served to the customer in a packaged form in
order for a quick and easy take out. Junk food is sold nearly everywhere. A person can find it at
restaurants, snack bars, stores, drive throughs, zoos, elementary and high schools, universities,
stadiums, airports, hospital cafeterias and so much more. When a person sees junk food at every
building around them, it is no wonder why people consume so much of it. Millions of millions of
people buy junk food every day. They do not give their meals much thought, such as what it does to
their body or the environment which they and everyone else lives in, how junk food is made,

The adaptation of the Kyoto Protocol took place in Kyoto Japan in the year 1997 (11th December).
The implementation of the protocol, however, came into effect later in the year 2005 (February 16th).
The number of states subscribed to the protocol are currently 192 as Canada s withdrawal became
effective in 2012 (December). The Kyoto Protocols role has thus been to implement UNFCC role of
combatting global warming through the reduction of the concentration of greenhouse gas in the
atmosphere to a desirable level that would not be necessarily dangerous (causing interference in the
atmosphere and the alteration of the system in the climate) According to the Protocols article 2, it is
entirely based on the principle of common but at the same time differential responsibility. In essence,
the protocol places the obligation of the reduction of emissions currently in the countries that are
developed as they are the ones most to blame for the high amounts of greenhouse gasses currently
present in the atmosphere (Grubb et al 997). The United States, however, chose to reject the Kyoto
Protocol in 2001 when George Bush took Presidential Office as the

Wealth In The Great Gatsby
According to a 2017 report by Oxfam, an international confederation of 18 NGOs (non governmental
organization) working... to end the injustices that cause poverty, 8 individuals are worth as much as
the poorest half of the global population. 6 of these men or ¾ of the 8 are Americans. This represents
the American dream for many people, making it big is their goal. In F. Scott Fitzgerald s novel The
Great Gatsby, obsession with the acquisition of wealth is common. Fitzgerald s criticisms of the
valuation of wealth and status, although not always true, are still relevant today and in the wider

More people are going to college because it s considered one of the few ways to get a job that will pay
well and allow someone to live the celebrity lifestyle we idolize. In the past, college attendance
became a symbol of wealth because only the rich could attend. Now, because college is more
attainable for everyone (albeit for the need for extensive student loans), it has become more of an
expectation and less of a dream. Most jobs outside the service industry require either a high school
diploma or degree. Although college didn t used to be important for successful life, the philosophy
today is the more educated a person is, the more likely they are to be astute enough to make their
fortune. Yet, in contrast to this cultural trend, most famous, rich people aren t revered for their

The Role of the Supernatural in the Play Macbeth Essay
The Role of the Supernatural in the Play Macbeth
Fair is foul and foul is fair such a well known line from the play Macbeth, with such power behind the
words. I have reason to believe that the role of the supernatural plays a very important part in
Shakespeare s play Macbeth, we can say that the supernatural occurs 4 times throughout the play that
we can call supernatural because they are physically unnatural things to be seen, e.g. the appearance of
Banquo s ghost, the prophecies and the air drawn dagger etc. But I have gone further into depth to find
that the supernatural isn t just physically noticeable but also mentally through hallucination etc. I have
many reasons to believe this because ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is because of the history of the witches at the time that Shakespeare had written the play. At the
time that the play was written, there was a strong belief in the existence of witches, anyone that was
seen to do things differently or better than anyone else they were accused of being a witch, and it was
very offensive to be accused of being one. This therefore is the reason why the supernatural is a
recurring theme in many of his plays. That is why the supernatural is seen in many varied forms such
as the floating dagger, the witches and many more. With Macbeth s entrance in the play, he has a
reaction to the witches the same that anyone in the audience would have had too. He is shocked to see
them, but also wants to listen to the words that the witches speak because they talk about what
Macbeth has always desired. This reaction too would have been what the audience would have had,
and this draws them into the play further, as if they can feel what Macbeth too is feeling. I feel that
with the power of the audience in the play as well as the story seems almost supernatural in a way
because of the power that it holds. I feel that Shakespeare would have wanted this effect because of
the great impact that the audience get from watching the play.
From the first glimpse of the witches and the

According to sec. 137 (1) of the Courts of Justice Act (CJA), on payment of the prescribed fee, a
person is entitled to see any document filed in a civil proceeding in a court, unless a statute or an order
of the court provides otherwise, e.g. in case of confidential information.
In addition to that, on payment of the prescribed fee, a person is entitled to see any list maintained by
a court of civil proceedings of actions commenced or judgments entered (sec. 137 (3) CJA).
Apart from that there is no civil litigation record in relation to a person that you can request from a

to whether a person is or was involved in a lawsuit from every single courthouse in Ontario. There is
no established way to handle such a request. Every courthouse will handle this request the way it
considers appropriate, as there is no standard for that. This means, that a courthouse will probably
refuse to certify that kind of information and might only provide informal reference on ongoing or
past lawsuits, as the risk of mistaken identities is too high. In Canada a person can sue another

Six Great Ideas
Justice Summary Just as truth is the prominent idea on which both goodness and beauty rest, so too is
justice the central idea on which liberty and equality rest. Mortimer Adler, author of Six Great Ideas,
believes that justice is an unlimited good that a society can never have too much of. He holds that
justice should be valued over liberty and equality because it alone can magnify peace and harmony in
a society, while maintaining any set limits. Justice is separated into two different categories: individual
justice in relation to other humans and the government, and governmental justice in relation to its
populace. It is crucial to note that fairness is treating each individual consistently and equally as the
next; whereas, justice is

Principles behind the Growth Process of Thin Films
CHAPTER 2: BACKGROUND Deposition and characterization of the thin films discussed in Chapter
1 will require an understanding of many different tools and processes that are currently used in the
semiconductor industry today. This chapter will cover the principles behind the growth process, the
experimentation and the material properties. The equipment used for these processes will be discussed
in depth as well.
2.1 Equipment The equipment used in the deposition of thin films can vary widely depending on what
material is being grown. Different deposition techniques affect different material properties, such as:
index of refraction, surface roughness, crystallinity, film quality and many others [VLSI, Seshan]. The
two main techniques are physical vapor deposition (PVD) and chemical vapor deposition (CVD).
These techniques are used for different materials and different processes and CVD is the deposition
technique this thesis focuses on. These techniques are implemented in different deposition systems
with many different features and they have a wide range of applications. After the material is grown,
the parameters of the material need to be characterized. This requires a complete understanding of the
tools which are being operated. Different tools are necessary to determine the different important
parameters of a material such as: reactive ion etchers, ellipsometers, atomic force microscopes, and x
ray diffraction spectroscopes. An inductively coupled plasma reactive ion

The Controversy Of Abortion
Abortion is a topic that is controversial to many. There are people who believe that abortion is a sin
and that women who do this, are vile and sickening humans. Women get abortions for many different
reasons and that should be their choice. It is no one else s decision because it is not their body that is
going to have to go through that.
In Pennsylvania, a state that is harsh on getting an abortion, women are put through counseling that
the state has provided to try and talk them out of having the abortion. Then there is a waiting period of
24 hours before the procedure can progress. The waiting period is designed to influence women to not
go through with the abortion rather than to help them ease their minds. This whole process is unfair

Using Two Different Switching Switches And Hubs
SUMMARY
In this lab, we have set up switched LAN using two different switching devices i.e Switches and
Hubs. Various performance metrics like throughput, collision count, traffic received, traffic sent and
delay are analysed by implementing the network with and without switches. The network is then
modified such that its maximum performance and efficiency is achieved.
OBJECTIVE
The main objective of this lab is to design a network with and without switches and examine the
network s parameters in both the scenarios. Two such scenarios were created: 1) Only hub (where one
hub is connected to 16 work stations) 2) Hub and Switch (where 8 work stations are connected for two
hubs and a switch connecting them). Here, a hub is a device which ... Show more content on

The X and Y coordinates are set to 50. The name of Ethernet16_hub is set to Hub1.
Each work station is configured by changing its attributes to as shown in the image below. This is
done for all the sixteen work stations.
The next step is to Choose Individual DES statistics. For this project, various statistics like Delay,
Traffic received, Traffic sent and Collision count are selected.
The simulation is then run by selecting the duration to 2 minutes. The graph is as follows.
The red curve represents Traffic received, green represents Traffic sent and blue represents Delay.
From the graph, it is clear that the delay is almost negligible when it is compared with the traffic sent
and traffic received.
Now the current scenario is duplicated and named as HubAndSwitch. In this scenario, a hub which is
Ethernet16_hub and a switch which is Ethernet16_switch are added to the work place by selecting
from the object palette. The names are set as Hub2 and Switch respectively.
The network is then modified by placing the switch in between the two hubs and connecting 8 work
stations to each hub with 10Base T links. The network appears as shown in this image below.
The DES statistics are same as that of the OnlyHub scenario. The results are obtained by running the
simulation and setting the duration to two minutes.

author s viewpoint of transactional analysis. The author, Thomas A. Harris M.D., explains in this book

second we die. He explains the different feelings a child experiences from being taken cared of and

A quick example is two adults are speaking with each other and the first says looks like we will be late
again this year. Then the second lady responds It never fails. These two just had a parent to parent
(parallel) talk because they were both speaking like adults and both wre interested in the other s
words. If the second lady would have rejected the first lady s comment (child) and insulted her by
saying she was just impatient the conversation would be finish because neither got and I m ok you re
ok feeling. I somewhat have come to understand that other people need affection to get through life
felling that they re ok just as much as myself. Affection doesn t have to be a kiss or a hug but just a
simple sit down and listening. You have to pay attention to what the other person is saying and
recognize wether they are using their parent or child to talk to you. Ultimately the Adult makes the
decisions but the parent and child are the influences on the adult s decision. I know that I have to be
aware of this because I have to know which of my parent or child to use to talk back them. The child
inside everyone needs stroking all throughout life and if it is deprived from that then that person will
feel he or she is not ok. If I were to have a conversation with someone and they were using their inner

Vaccine Vs Autism
More parents are choosing to not vaccinate their children these days because they fear for their own

say vaccines can and do cause cancer. The original paper that found a link between vaccines and

measles which I didn t like because that means it is not guaranteed to work. I didn t know Wakefield
was the person that started the autism fear from vaccinations. I find Wakefield detestable to put so
many children in danger because he wanted to earn money and did not care for the wellbeing of
others. I really liked the community immunity. If every child gets a vaccination, no disease can travel
from one person to another. No one would suffer if everyone played a part and did what they should
have done. This article made me realize I am very fortunate to have the vaccinations for my children
because it can give them protection to catching measles. I didn t want my children to get the
vaccinations. Now I realize it is just out of fear from the news broadcast that I heard from which is not
even the truth. I wouldn t want to let fear consume me and do something that would jeopardize my

Honor In Henry IV, Part 1, And Achilles
The theme of honor can be found in many great works of literature. It is a theme that often plays into
who a character is and how they act. This is especially prevalent in the play Henry IV, Part 1 by
Shakespeare and the epic The Iliad by Homer. In these two works, there are characters who are
completely different concerning honor. The characters Falstaff, from Henry IV, Part 1, and Achilles,
from The Iliad, can be contrasted using the theme of honor. Falstaff can be contrasted with Achilles, in
relation to the theme of honor, because he is a dishonorable person. Falstaff is the most dishonorable
character in the play. He consistently does not give any thought to being honorable and even goes so
far as to say that honor is worthless. He just wants to take the easy path to having money and being
well thought of instead of working for it. So he will throw others under the bus to either make himself
look better or to make money. Falstaff makes many dishonorable decisions during the Boars Head
scene. Throughout the entirety of this scene, Falstaff lies and consistently tries to make himself look
better than what he actually is. Just before this scene Falstaff and his gang had just robbed some

Management of Financial Institutions and The Banking Crisis
Risk is uncertainty. The more risk one takes, the more he or she stands to lose or gain. One cannot
expect high returns without taking substantial risks.
The outcomes are thrown open to uncertainty. In general, when we talk about risk, we focus on
financial risk. In financial terms, it is the risk that a company or individual could lose some or all of
the original investment, possibly resulting in inadequate cash flow to meet financial obligations. All
wise investments follow risk consideration. To be successful, every investor must be able to identify

It had been widely known that problems with the banks in the US were due to the phenomenon of sub
prime lending for housing. Many of the loans had turned into toxic assets as borrowers failed to meet
repayments.
Similar to Northern Rock, the banks continued to give loans in this manner as they too chose to
securitize their loans because this method of trading appeared so profitable. This was a highly
successful mechanism to operate until the number of defaulters increased to the point where these
assets began to turn illiquid. Investors started to avoid securities as it was now evident many were
flawed. Moreover, Northern Rock in their quest for greater financial returns found securities that
attractive they also invested in them.
With trading slowing in the financial markets, many institutions began to react to the impending crisis
by taking a more cautious approach to lending. In comparison Northern Rock were so focused on
returning profits and generating growth that, at a time when monetary policy was tightening faster
than expected, the bank had agreed to issue a tranche of mortgages at interest rates that were lower
than those it had to eventually pay in the markets to finance them (The Economist, 2007, Lessons of

Anti-Semitic German Propaganda
During World War II, anti Semitic publications circulating throughout Germany display clear evidence
of pervading the minds of young German children. Julius Steicher, editor of Der Stumer and the agent
responsible for many of the anti Semitic publications (Mills), helped dramatically initiate the German
resistance toward Jews early on in a child s life. It is important to understand the severity of anti
Semitism taught to the future Nazi generation in order to maintain the National Socialist state and
further it s agenda. By examining the ideas, and publications aimed towards children that express
those ideals, it is clear that the National Socialist state wanted to indoctrinate a hateful, militant
agenda into young children. Ultimately, the final result was to maintain the prejudice view that the
Jewish people were the inferior race, and therefore the enemy for future generations.
One of the chief ways to target young German children with Nazi propaganda was through the school
systems. A German educator wrote in The National Socialist Essence of Education, that mathematics
was Aryan spiritual property, an expression of the Nordic fighting spirit, of the Nordic struggle for the
supremacy in the world (Hirsch, 119). Children were given slogans to learn and recite such as: Judas
the Jew betrayed Jesus the German to the Jews (Mann, 90). Furthermore, by 1937, about 97% of all
teachers belonged to the National Socialist Teachers Union (Mills). Established in 1929, the Union

Euthyphro Paradox Essay

The Euthyphro Paradox
Socrates is said to be one of the wisest man who ever lived. Even in the book, The Trial and Death of
Socrates, the Oracle of Delphi even said that no man is wiser than Socrates. Although that statement in
itself can be dissected and analyzed, the main focus at hand is that of line 10a of the Euthyphro. In this
passage, Socrates presents to Euthyphro what is known even to this day as the Euthyphro Paradox .
For someone unfamiliar with the current situation in the Euthyphro, it is probably best to summarize
and explained this particular passage. Not only will explaining the dialogue shed light to the passage
but it will also help explain the Euthyphro Paradox. To begin with, Euthyphro and Socrates both meet
each other in Athens in front of the court house. They ended up starting a conversation. They come to
learn why the other is there. Euthyphro is there because he is convicting his father for murdering one
of his servants. Socrates is there because Meletus is convicting him for being impious and corrupting
the youth. Socrates begins by questioning ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Socrates than decides to ask Euthyphro if he knows what being pious means. Euthyphro answers by
saying that piety is his actions. This means in a sense that by convicting his father of murder he is
being pious. However Socrates is not satisfied with Euthyphro s answer because this is an example of
being pious and not the definition. To Socrates, Euthyphro seems to understand the difference between
being pious and impious because he knows that murder is wrong. So he then asks, Is the pious being
loved by the gods because it is pious, or is it pious because it is being loved by the gods (Grube 11)?
Essentially another way of saying this would be, God loves something because it is good or

they wanted and then thought that they were getting the French language pushed onto them. The
Official Languages Act finally got elected into the election for the first time ever by the liberal group.
(Will Ferguson, pg#365) they believed that they needed French has an official language because in
Ottawa, Quebec and Montreal they all spoke French and thought it was equal to make their language

wanted to have French has a language just how English was like. (Michael Haan, pg#59 76) They won

The Importance Of Internet Privacy
The purpose why internet privacy be invented is because the scientists hoped that the hardware,
software and data in its network system can be protected from accidental and malicious damage,
alteration, disclosure. Also wanted its system can be continuous and reliable Running, network service
is not interrupted, etc. But as for today, there are still lots of aspects like viruses and rogue software
are unchecked. The causes of virus and rogue software s rampant are both human factors and systemic
vulnerabilities.
In today s Internet world, Internet security seems to be considered an outdated idea. Instead of making
security a priority, technology companies see it as an added way, not as a security measure. This can
be referred to now there are many unsound places in the construction of Internet security. But at the
same time, some technology companies and the government set special legal restrictions on them, but
also can reflect its sound aspects.
Obviously, legislation is the most effective and direct way to limit cybercrime and improve cyber
security. In the original, there was no law that would prevent cybercrime from taking place. The
company collected data about people s internet access, assembled it into detailed profiles, and sold it
to advertisers or others without a request for permission. So it is best to see the support that appears on
the web and the minimum privacy standards that are turned off. The article states that the Obama
administration has called

Rhetorical Analysis Of Cesar Chavez
About 85% of churches are not fully active with their community. Statics have higher throughout the
years, about 40 years ago Mexicans were being treated unfairly due to poor working conditions. This
unbarring situation leads to a fellow leader, Chavez to step up and build a firm foundation to led us
Mexican Americans to success. Chavez had many helpers from different communities, but his own.
The Mexican American organization was let down by their own church. This escalated to such an
overwhelming experience. In Chavez speech, The Mexican Americans and the Church insinuates the
catastrophe of the church s involvement. Chavez explains his purpose thoroughly to the audience, uses
pathos and has an effective tone to allow him to build his organization. Therefore, Cesar Chavez
wanted the church to support his organization, therefore his intended audience for his speech was his
local church and the Mexican American Community. Cesar went through a spiritual fasting, in which
he did not eat due to the hazardous chemicals in field fruit. Chavez was a Catholic and used his morals
for a nonviolent protest to better working conditions for field workers. He was the leader of the
Mexican American Community in Delano, Ca. He indicates how powerful a church s involvement can
be: It is powerful moral and spiritual force cannot be ignored by any movement (Chavez). He believes
if the church got more involved they would grow as an organization and would strive to be seen and
heard. Chavez had strong hopes to fulfil his dream of making a change. The church s involvement
would heavy impact his journey He wants to persuade, change their options and have a wider
spectrum. In addition, Chavez wants the church to hear his opinion. He stated this matter at the
Second Annual Conference in Sacramento, Ca. After his speech he gained over 6,000 people to join
his fast. He could have not accomplished that without the help of an organization called California
Migrant Ministry. This organization is a protestant group who helped Chavez succeed. Because their
relationship grew, the ministry was right by Cesar s side during the strikes. He later on explains how
supportive the ministry was, When 30 of the strikers were arrested for

Children Aggression From Violent Television Essay
Del Sha Roberts
Research Paper
Psych 280
Children Aggression From Violent Television Page Break Over the years, researchers have studied the
effects that television has had on children. When children are taught to tie their shoes, it is because
their parents taught them. When children are taught to ride their bikes, it is because someone showed
them. In many instances, children learn by watching and observing things they see others do. This
leads researchers to believe that violent television in terms, makes children more aggressive.
According to Huesmann Rowell L., One of the notable changes in our social environment in the 20th
and 21st centuries has been the saturation of our culture and daily lives by the mass media. In this new
environment radio, television, movies, videos, video games, cell phones, and computer networks have
assumed central roles in our children s daily lives. For better or worse the mass media are having an
enormous impact on our children s values, beliefs, and behaviors. Unfortunately, the consequences of
one particular common element of the electronic mass media has a particularly detrimental effect on
children s well being. Research evidence has accumulated over the past half century that exposure to
violence on television, movies, and most recently in video games increases the risk of violent behavior
on the viewer s part just as growing up in an environment filled with real violence increases the risk of

Reflection On Ownership In Pharmacy
Reflection At the first glance to ownership in pharmacy subject, I realized that it s a huge experience
to have. Many thoughts had popped up to my mind with many questions. What is the best idea for me
to start with? Where should I start? What knowledge do I need to have? How will I finance my
project? Is it possible to start my ownership project now or should I wait? By reading more and more
about ownership in pharmacy through this course, I came up with a good vision on the subject. I knew
that there are many types of ownerships in pharmacy such as independent pharmacy, specialty
pharmacy, MTM services, consulting pharmacy, and more. Then, I have read about being successful,
and what I need, to be successful at ownership. Hence, gaining more skills, such as management,
innovation, motivation, and commitment will help me in my career plan. Because ownership needs
more patience and more support, only hard workers are capable to succeed at ownership. After that, I
have read about how to start a new business, and I knew that it s very important to get an expert
advice. It doesn t matter how much experience I have in pharmacy, because I still need an expert
advice. More simply, there are other sides of ownership that I don t know such as laws and
regulations, or things related to accounting. Definitely, I will need an advice from a lawyer and
accountant. I may need also to ask a consultancy services company to cooperate with me. Finding,

In book, The Fires of Jubilee Nat Turner s Fierce Rebellion by Stephen B. Oates telling of the slave
rebellion that happened in Virginia during 1831. In the book, it recalls the events of Nat Turner, a
talented and gifted black slave who single handedly assembled many indentured servants and slaves
into a bloody rebellion against their own masters for their own freedom . Oates deeply analyzes the
events that had led to the revolt in the South from the eyes of Turner. Oates also records the life and

It is an analytical account of historical details that is acceptable for those wanting to dive much deeper
into the aspects of slavery in the United States during the time period. The Fires of Jubilee captures
essentially the difficulties slaves and servants do in their daily lives, their emotions and reactions that
they experienced toward their masters. Given that the book is a narrative of a slave s life, there could
be a chance that there is a small bias towards the slaves and the servants in this case. Although Oates
doesn t directly say whether the slaves violent rebellion toward their masters was the right choice to
make or not. Oates dislikes slavery, this aspect of the story is clear when he claims that servitude was
a form of controlling races. Throughout the book, Oates aims at tarnish the slave masters credibility.
He tries to draw empathy from the readers by making Turner the main character in the book to show
his struggles of being a slave. Oates points out the oppression that Turner endures. The harsh
treatment of the slaves from their masters and trying to prove it, the author suggests that it s okay for
the slaves to resolve their issue with a brutal solution because of the problems they faced. Higginson
in his article Nat Turner s insurrection , justifies this belief when he claims that Turner

The Oversexualizing Of Women In Japanese Anime And Manga
The Oversexualizing of
Women in Japanese Anime and Manga The Japanese are a very creative culture which have produced
several fantastic science fiction movies such as Gojira, which was an allegory for the use of atomic
bombs in war to the animated cartoons, known as anime in America, like Space Battleship Yamato
which portrayed the story of all the nations of the planet Earth joining forces to defeat an alien
invasion. Yamato and other anime like Mach A Go Go had female characters in the shows that were
both allies and sometimes love interest to the main characters, but still were depicted as strong female
role models and were drawn with normal features and body types. However, as time has passed,
women in anime have been more and more sexualized and this has had an effect on how young people
look at Japanese culture and women in particular. In this paper, the effects of this practice will be
observed. With the anime boom of the last few years, the way women have been portrayed in these
animated cartoons has been more and more sexualized. Shows such as Fairy Tale depict the female
leads as scantily clad fighters with rather large breast. Even the youngest girl on the show that is
around the age of 11 to 12 is depicted with larger than normal breast. One of the main reasons for this
is the rather strong patriarchal view of women in Japan that is still there to this day. The article titled A

Obstacles In David Oliver Relin s Three Cups Of Tea

Framing And Reframing
Framing and reframing plays a dynamic role in conflict development. Reframing may cause a shift in
the development of the conflict this will affect the conflict management or the resolution of the
conflict. Framing is built on assumptions we implement whereas reframing challenges these
assumptions to draw alternative solutions. Reframing is a way to identify what is important to you or
others rather than focusing on negative actions or emotions of yourself or others. Focusing on the
positive action, emotion and values will shift our thinking from the negativities and this will allow the
person to be less stressed and more relaxed. For example here is a negative statement and it s positive

A very important aspect of a working society today is a spoken language. Being able to communicate
and understand one another through words opens up an abundance of doors for humanity. Taking
language to the next level was the creation of writing systems. Without a writing system, there would
be no way to document important events in history or to record facts that will help with further
developments. Writing systems not only help with the present, but with future developments. With a

Phonemes are units of sound that can very drastically change the meaning of a word. For example, the
words booth and both appear to be very similar, but are vastly different in their definitions. In the
Sumerian language, phonemes are mostly used with the vowels of their alphabet. In the English
language there are roughly 24 vowel sounds, while Cuneiform contains a mere 8 vowel sounds. Also,
there are 14 constants used in Cuneiform: b, p, t, d, g, k, z, s, sh, ch, r, l, m, and n. Sumerians did not
use these vowels and constants literally, but were translations made by studying the language.
Morphemes are the smallest grammatical units in a language. In The Sumerian language, people used
morphemes usually to make a word plural. These are known as plural markers. For example, the s in
the word books would be the morpheme that is making the word plural. Morphemes in modern day
are much more intricate, but this was the basic use in the fourth millennia. Cuneiform vowels include

What Does The Colour Symbolize In The Great Gatsby
Analyse the symbolism of colour in The Great Gatsby.
In F. Scott Fitzgerald s novel the Great Gatsby he uses many literary devices. One of the most obvious
is colour, and in this essay
I will explore how Fitzgerald uses colours like white, green and yellow to help convey 1920 s America
and Gatsby s struggle for Daisy
Buchanan.
White features most strongly in the novel and becomes a way for people to hide behind false facades.
In The Great Gatsby white symbolises royalty innocence and purity and can also be seen to represent
the way the wealthy falsely themselves. On the surface, the white symbolises their innocence and

Of all the characters,
Gatsby himself fits best into this category; Gatsby lives in a green house surrounded by a green lawn.
This colour light becomes his hopes in the novel. Barely visible from his west egg dock is the green
light that marks out Daisy s on East
Egg. He reaches towards this in the darkness as the guiding light to his dream. Daisy also forms a key
part of Gatsby s American Dream so the colour green is also associated with this idealism. This
reaching for the light also shows how Gatsby wishes to repeat the past. In chapter nine Nick describes
the Green light to how America must have looked to early settlers.
Yellow symbolises a desire for wealth and it also represents the old money of East Egg. Much like
Daisy Buchanan the old money are false and misguided. Gatsby though is also bad beneath his
character, showing that this also applies to the noveau riche people, as they to are yellow inside. His
gained his fortune through the drugs trade and crime, meaning there is nothing innocent about his
fortune. This goes against the American Dream, as according to this money should be a reward for
honesty and success.
The valley of ashes is associated with a grey and gloomy colour. This thin strip of land between west
Egg and New York City is a long strip of desolate land created by the dumping of industrial ashes,
representing the moral and social decay that results from uninhibited pursuits of

Rascal Flatt s Song Analysis
Most parents now in today s society want better for their children, and want nothing to harm or come
interfere with their paths. Flatts expresses this in his song, And if you re faced with a choice, and you
have to choose, I hope you choose the one that means the most to you. A report done by Andres
Bendesky and Young mi Kwon found from their results that variation in an ancient neuropeptide
contributes to differences in parental care (Bendesky Andres, Kwon mi Young 2016). As a young child
we obviously want to feel loved and protected especially when things aren t going our way, we need
that person to always rely on. Rascal Flatts ensures that no matter what path his daughter chooses he
will be there as her role model to lead the way her heart desires to go. This correlates to more of an
indirect care towards his daughter, because Flatts will protect her on her journey being the role model
he wants her to also become. On the other hand, it could also relate to direct care if he was physically

Colonial Era Of American Literature
During the colonial period, religious and social issues help create a new era of American Literature.
This new era of American literature can be seen in the book The Norton Anthology of American
Literature by Robert Levine where he explains what social issues led to this new revolution in
literature. This new era in literature help create new bias opinion and different political views among
the American people. For example, Thomas Paine, in his pamphlet, Common Sense (21), he explains
how important it was for the colonies to gain its independence from Britain; this pamphlet was greatly
influential towards the American Revolution. In addition, some of the social issues that happen during
this time period help create new sources of literature such as essays, letters, poems and pamphlets by
new writers. Moreover, Robert Levine s book The Norton Anthology of American Literature helps
readers to understand the social issues that took place during this time period such as religious beliefs,
slavery and the American Revolution by explaining the different key components of writing that took
place during the Colonial Era. Religious toleration among certain religious groups have deteriorated
over time because of different religious views and beliefs among these groups. In the chapter of

  • 2. Why People Should Limit The Junk Food When it comes to America and death, heart failure invites the Grim Reaper even more than cancer. Heart disease is the number one leading cause of death in America, leaving a yearly toll of 720,000 heart attacks and 600,000 deaths. To help prevent heart failure, one should eat a diet low in total fat, saturated fat, cholesterol, and sodium. Yet, is the toll of heart failure truly a surprise after looking at all of what America is really eating? Life in America is all about the delicious junk food, whether or not it is slowly killing the consumer. This is why people should limit the junk food that they consume; it is simply a death sentence to the body, mind, environment and economy. Many people do not even consider junk food as real food. It is made to be prepared and served as quickly as possible. While consisting of preheated or precooked ingredients, it is served to the customer in a packaged form in order for a quick and easy take out. Junk food is sold nearly everywhere. A person can find it at restaurants, snack bars, stores, drive throughs, zoos, elementary and high schools, universities, stadiums, airports, hospital cafeterias and so much more. When a person sees junk food at every building around them, it is no wonder why people consume so much of it. Millions of millions of people buy junk food every day. They do not give their meals much thought, such as what it does to their body or the environment which they and everyone else lives in, how junk food is made, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This therefore is the reason why the supernatural is a recurring theme in many of his plays. That is why the supernatural is seen in many varied forms such as the floating dagger, the witches and many more. With Macbeth s entrance in the play, he has a reaction to the witches the same that anyone in the audience would have had too. He is shocked to see them, but also wants to listen to the words that the witches speak because they talk about what Macbeth has always desired. This reaction too would have been what the audience would have had, and this draws them into the play further, as if they can feel what Macbeth too is feeling. I feel that with the power of the audience in the play as well as the story seems almost supernatural in a way because of the power that it holds. I feel that Shakespeare would have wanted this effect because of the great impact that the audience get from watching the play. From the first glimpse of the witches and the ... Mortimer Adler, author of Six Great Ideas, believes that justice is an unlimited good that a society can never have too much of. He holds that justice should be valued over liberty and equality because it alone can magnify peace and harmony in a society, while maintaining any set limits. Justice is separated into two different categories: individual justice in relation to other humans and the government, and governmental justice in relation to its populace. Principles behind the Growth Process of Thin Films CHAPTER 2: BACKGROUND Deposition and characterization of the thin films discussed in Chapter 1 will require an understanding of many different tools and processes that are currently used in the semiconductor industry today. This chapter will cover the principles behind the growth process, the experimentation and the material properties. The equipment used for these processes will be discussed in depth as well. 2.1 Equipment The equipment used in the deposition of thin films can vary widely depending on what material is being grown. Different deposition techniques affect different material properties, such as: index of refraction, surface roughness, crystallinity, film quality and many others [VLSI, Seshan]. The two main techniques are physical vapor deposition (PVD) and chemical vapor deposition (CVD). These techniques are used for different materials and different processes and CVD is the deposition technique this thesis focuses on. These techniques are implemented in different deposition systems with many different features and they have a wide range of applications. After the material is grown, the parameters of the material need to be characterized. This requires a complete understanding of the tools which are being operated. Different tools are necessary to determine the different important parameters of a material such as: reactive ion etchers, ellipsometers, atomic force microscopes, and x ray diffraction spectroscopes. • 12. Using Two Different Switching Switches And Hubs SUMMARY In this lab, we have set up switched LAN using two different switching devices i.e Switches and Hubs. Various performance metrics like throughput, collision count, traffic received, traffic sent and delay are analysed by implementing the network with and without switches. The network is then modified such that its maximum performance and efficiency is achieved. OBJECTIVE The main objective of this lab is to design a network with and without switches and examine the network s parameters in both the scenarios. Two such scenarios were created: 1) Only hub (where one hub is connected to 16 work stations) 2) Hub and Switch (where 8 work stations are connected for two hubs and a switch connecting them). For this project, various statistics like Delay, Traffic received, Traffic sent and Collision count are selected. The simulation is then run by selecting the duration to 2 minutes. The graph is as follows. The red curve represents Traffic received, green represents Traffic sent and blue represents Delay. From the graph, it is clear that the delay is almost negligible when it is compared with the traffic sent and traffic received. Now the current scenario is duplicated and named as HubAndSwitch. In this scenario, a hub which is Ethernet16_hub and a switch which is Ethernet16_switch are added to the work place by selecting from the object palette. The names are set as Hub2 and Switch respectively. The network is then modified by placing the switch in between the two hubs and connecting 8 work stations to each hub with 10Base T links. This is especially prevalent in the play Henry IV, Part 1 by Shakespeare and the epic The Iliad by Homer. In these two works, there are characters who are completely different concerning honor. The characters Falstaff, from Henry IV, Part 1, and Achilles, from The Iliad, can be contrasted using the theme of honor. Falstaff can be contrasted with Achilles, in relation to the theme of honor, because he is a dishonorable person. Falstaff is the most dishonorable character in the play. Many of the loans had turned into toxic assets as borrowers failed to meet repayments. Similar to Northern Rock, the banks continued to give loans in this manner as they too chose to securitize their loans because this method of trading appeared so profitable. This was a highly successful mechanism to operate until the number of defaulters increased to the point where these assets began to turn illiquid. Investors started to avoid securities as it was now evident many were flawed. Moreover, Northern Rock in their quest for greater financial returns found securities that attractive they also invested in them. With trading slowing in the financial markets, many institutions began to react to the impending crisis by taking a more cautious approach to lending. In comparison Northern Rock were so focused on returning profits and generating growth that, at a time when monetary policy was tightening faster than expected, the bank had agreed to issue a tranche of mortgages at interest rates that were lower than those it had to eventually pay in the markets to finance them (The Economist, 2007, Lessons of the fall, 20/10/2007). Julius Steicher, editor of Der Stumer and the agent responsible for many of the anti Semitic publications (Mills), helped dramatically initiate the German resistance toward Jews early on in a child s life. It is important to understand the severity of anti Semitism taught to the future Nazi generation in order to maintain the National Socialist state and further it s agenda. By examining the ideas, and publications aimed towards children that express those ideals, it is clear that the National Socialist state wanted to indoctrinate a hateful, militant agenda into young children. Ultimately, the final result was to maintain the prejudice view that the Jewish people were the inferior race, and therefore the enemy for future generations. One of the chief ways to target young German children with Nazi propaganda was through the school systems. A German educator wrote in The National Socialist Essence of Education, that mathematics was Aryan spiritual property, an expression of the Nordic fighting spirit, of the Nordic struggle for the supremacy in the world (Hirsch, 119). Children were given slogans to learn and recite such as: Judas the Jew betrayed Jesus the German to the Jews (Mann, 90). Even in the book, The Trial and Death of Socrates, the Oracle of Delphi even said that no man is wiser than Socrates. Although that statement in itself can be dissected and analyzed, the main focus at hand is that of line 10a of the Euthyphro. In this passage, Socrates presents to Euthyphro what is known even to this day as the Euthyphro Paradox . For someone unfamiliar with the current situation in the Euthyphro, it is probably best to summarize and explained this particular passage. Not only will explaining the dialogue shed light to the passage but it will also help explain the Euthyphro Paradox. To begin with, Euthyphro and Socrates both meet each other in Athens in front of the court house. They ended up starting a conversation. They come to learn why the other is there. To Socrates, Euthyphro seems to understand the difference between being pious and impious because he knows that murder is wrong. So he then asks, Is the pious being loved by the gods because it is pious, or is it pious because it is being loved by the gods (Grube 11)? • 25. Children Aggression From Violent Television Essay Del Sha Roberts Research Paper Psych 280 Children Aggression From Violent Television Page Break Over the years, researchers have studied the effects that television has had on children. When children are taught to tie their shoes, it is because their parents taught them. When children are taught to ride their bikes, it is because someone showed them. In many instances, children learn by watching and observing things they see others do. This leads researchers to believe that violent television in terms, makes children more aggressive. According to Huesmann Rowell L., One of the notable changes in our social environment in the 20th and 21st centuries has been the saturation of our culture and daily lives by the mass media. In this new environment radio, television, movies, videos, video games, cell phones, and computer networks have assumed central roles in our children s daily lives. For better or worse the mass media are having an enormous impact on our children s values, beliefs, and behaviors. Unfortunately, the consequences of one particular common element of the electronic mass media has a particularly detrimental effect on children s well being. Research evidence has accumulated over the past half century that exposure to violence on television, movies, and most recently in video games increases the risk of violent behavior on the viewer s part just as growing up in an environment filled with real violence increases the risk of ... It is an analytical account of historical details that is acceptable for those wanting to dive much deeper into the aspects of slavery in the United States during the time period. The Fires of Jubilee captures essentially the difficulties slaves and servants do in their daily lives, their emotions and reactions that they experienced toward their masters. Given that the book is a narrative of a slave s life, there could be a chance that there is a small bias towards the slaves and the servants in this case. Although Oates doesn t directly say whether the slaves violent rebellion toward their masters was the right choice to make or not. Oates dislikes slavery, this aspect of the story is clear when he claims that servitude was a form of controlling races. Throughout the book, Oates aims at tarnish the slave masters credibility. He tries to draw empathy from the readers by making Turner the main character in the book to show his struggles of being a slave. Oates points out the oppression that Turner endures. The harsh treatment of the slaves from their masters and trying to prove it, the author suggests that it s okay for the slaves to resolve their issue with a brutal solution because of the problems they faced. The Oversexualizing Of Women In Japanese Anime And Manga The Oversexualizing of Women in Japanese Anime and Manga The Japanese are a very creative culture which have produced several fantastic science fiction movies such as Gojira, which was an allegory for the use of atomic bombs in war to the animated cartoons, known as anime in America, like Space Battleship Yamato which portrayed the story of all the nations of the planet Earth joining forces to defeat an alien invasion. Yamato and other anime like Mach A Go Go had female characters in the shows that were both allies and sometimes love interest to the main characters, but still were depicted as strong female role models and were drawn with normal features and body types. However, as time has passed, women in anime have been more and more sexualized and this has had an effect on how young people look at Japanese culture and women in particular. In this paper, the effects of this practice will be observed. With the anime boom of the last few years, the way women have been portrayed in these animated cartoons has been more and more sexualized. Shows such as Fairy Tale depict the female leads as scantily clad fighters with rather large breast. Even the youngest girl on the show that is around the age of 11 to 12 is depicted with larger than normal breast. One of the main reasons for this is the rather strong patriarchal view of women in Japan that is still there to this day. One of the most obvious is colour, and in this essay I will explore how Fitzgerald uses colours like white, green and yellow to help convey 1920 s America and Gatsby s struggle for Daisy Buchanan. White features most strongly in the novel and becomes a way for people to hide behind false facades. This colour light becomes his hopes in the novel. Barely visible from his west egg dock is the green light that marks out Daisy s on East Egg. He reaches towards this in the darkness as the guiding light to his dream. Daisy also forms a key part of Gatsby s American Dream so the colour green is also associated with this idealism. This reaching for the light also shows how Gatsby wishes to repeat the past. In chapter nine Nick describes the Green light to how America must have looked to early settlers. Yellow symbolises a desire for wealth and it also represents the old money of East Egg. Much like Daisy Buchanan the old money are false and misguided. Gatsby though is also bad beneath his character, showing that this also applies to the noveau riche people, as they to are yellow inside.
