2. Jasmine Roberts
No More Toilet Water Jasmine Roberts, a 12 year old student conducting a science
fair project never expected to get so much attention. Jasmine s project gained
national attention that gained multiple awards. Jasmine collected five different ice
samples from restaurants. These ice samples were going to be used for testing
bacteria levels at the University of South Florida so she gathered ice from the self
serve machines inside the restaurants. Then she collected ice from the employees at
the drive thru windows. In order for Jasmine to be able to compare the bacteria in
the ice, she then collected toilet water samples from each of the restaurants that she
gathered her ice from. Her project ended up showing results that 70 percent of the
samples she tested came back dirtier than the restaurant s toilet water. This situation
was not merely an isolated case study for Jasmine Roberts in Florida. It is more
common than one might believe; the Daily mail had done a similar test. They
collected ice from ten fast food restaurants that included: McDonald s, Burger King,
and Starbucks among others. When these restaurant s ice were tested, the results...

Most people lack an acute knowledge of the numerous bacteria that are present in
the ice cubes at various restaurants. Furthermore, most people don t know what
kinds of bacteria are present in these restaurant s ice cubes alone. The fact that
multiple places have ice that is dirtier than their toilet water poses major issues.
Some of the bacteria may not be harmful but, in other cases, you have places where
the ice cubes test positive for the presence of pathogens like E. coli. This generates
health risks. That being said, this creates a major problem that needs to be looked at
not only by the consumer, but also the employees and employers. The health risks
associated with these harmful bacterium being found in restaurant s ice is in need of

3. Essay On Flat Income Tax
The federal government will not replace the current tax bracket system with a flat
income tax.
The idea of a graduated, or progressive, income tax is an idea that originates from
Britain. Prime Minister William Pitt implemented the first bracketed tax system in
1798 in order to pay for the French Revolutionary War (parliament.uk).115 years later,
President Woodrow Wilson signed the Revenue act of 1913, establishing the first
graduatedincome tax in the United States. (history.com) This idea of a graduated
income tax makes the income gap smaller, and helps to make sure that every family
is paying a fair amount. Low income families pay a lower percentage, and higher
income families pay a higher percentage. In 2017, married couples who make $0 ...

Taxes could be set at a specific percentage or a specific dollar amount. This idea
seems fair, with everyone paying the same rate, but, in fact, it can be extremely
detrimental to low income families. Flat taxes are usually set in the neighborhood
of 17 to 20%, meaning that lower income families, let s say, families making
$5,000 a year would pay 1,000 dollars leaving just 4,000 to pay for necessities. On
the other hand, wealthy families making 400,000 a year would pay 80,000 dollars,
leaving 320,000 dollars for spending, significantly more than low income families.
Additionally, this system has not gone unproposed. It has been brought up four
times in the last 30 years, the most recent of which in 2011 when several
republican candidates embraced the flat tax, including Herman Cain with a 9% set
tax, and Rick Perry with a 20%. However, these proposals and others similar to
them have yet to gain traction in our government. No form of the flat tax has ever
made it past the first stages of formation, which means it is very likely that there will
never be a successful plan.
With the flaws in a flat tax system, and the benefits of a graduated income tax, the
United States government will not institute a flat income
4. Ethical Systems
There are seven different major ethical systems and they are: ethical formalism,
utilitarianism, religion, natural law, ethics of virtue, ethics of care, and egoism. All
seven of these ethical systems are dealt with on a daily basis and sometimes it is
hard to determine which one you are dealing with. Ethical systems intertwine with
one another and make up how humans respond and react to situations they are
faced with every day. Each ethical system has its own way of coming across to each
individual, and it is also going to depend on how each individual person looks at the
problems and situations they are dealing with. Ethical formalism is the good that
conforms to the categorical imperative (University of Phoenix, 2005). I also... Show

Religion is also confusing in a way because so many people have different beliefs
and there are also people that do not believe at all that they were placed here by
someone or something. It is hard to determine whether this would be morally
wrong, and I cannot make a decision whether or not this is close to my beliefs.
Every religion is different and looks at situations of non believers differently.
Natural law is the good that which is natural (University of Phoenix, 2005). This
completely falls into the teleological aspect of ethical systems. The teleological
system revolves around everything that is naturally occurring and is meant to
happen sooner or later. Natural law is inherited among humans and determines how
humans react to one another and situations going on around them. Natural law
gives off validity and is set in stone; this determines easily whether or not
something is good or bad. An example of natural law would be the common sense
of certain situations and determining whether something was right or wrong.
Natural law is what makes people who they are and they are the determining factor
to what happens. I would consider this close to what I believe in because I believe
that people have a huge effect on what happens around us. Ethics of virtue is good
that which conforms to the Golden Mean (University of Phoenix, 2005). The ethics
of virtue
5. The Agricultural Revolution And The Industrial Revolution
Certain events in history grow in influence spreading their effects across society,
economics, and politics, thus is the case of the Industrial Revolution The
agricultural revolution played a large role in the start of the Industrial Revolution.
New innovations and inventions like the use of fertilizer, mixing of soils, and
Jethro Tull s seed drill allowed richer farmers who were able to afford them to
produce and abundance of food cheaply and efficiently. Cheaper and more
abundant food lead to a population boom. Europe s population grew by 70 million
between 1700 and 1800. Further into the 1700 s the Enclosure Movement began.
Since wealthy farmers could utilize new technologies they were able to
outcompete smaller farms. Small farmers were essentially forced to sell their land
to the larger farmers who could then work that land to grow food even more
efficiently, effectively causing the farming industry to become dominated by a few
farmers who owned swaths of farmland. Other new influential inventions were
created during this time period. Before this small factories were powered by water
wheels, however with the advent of the refined steam engine created by James Watt
more, larger factories sprang up which utilized this new power source to create
goods more cheaply and efficiently than ever before. A large labor force was needed
to sustain all aspects of the Industrial Revolution, including harvesting of raw
materials, production of merchandise, and distribution. Luckily
6. Argumentative Essay About Marijuana
Wonderful Weed The dispute regarding weed, more formally known as Cannabis
Sativa, has been a topic of discussion throughout the years as people can t seem to
come to a conclusion about it. One side of the argument claims that people are
addicted to this drug and its destroying brain cells of the users, and other people
claim it not to be as overbearing as other drugs and it is harmless to use. Upon
further research the answer is simple. Weed indeed proves to be beneficial and
should not be prohibited or illegal. Society shames Cannabissmokers because it is
inhaled the same way as tobacco, and those that are against it have developed the
notion that it is bad for people s health.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
People who are strongly against weed legalization also like to throw children into the
equation, saying that if legal, it would be easier to obtain, thus corrupting the minds
of our young ones. Logically speaking, the results are quite contrary to the claims.
Another Huffington Post article states that, ...the fact that marijuana studies so often
show conflicting findings is a sign of how much more research is needed in this area
and how important those answers are, (Ferner Wing). Those that oppose the
legalization of Marijuana provide blanketed statements as to why they shouldn t do
the drug instead of providing factual evidence and teaching them how to approach it
responsibly. Reason being, they themselves don t have the answers. There are so
many unanswered questions in adolescent marijuana, so teenage use of cannabis
shouldn t be supported or scolded until further evidence is provided. In regards to
the drug being more accessible to teenagers, this statement is also false as the drug
is already incredibly easy to obtain. In addressing the lyrics of Prince Ea, a
youtuber who created a research based song upon the dispute, he emphasizes that,
It s easier for kids to buy weed than it is to buy beer or cigarettes. Is that surprising?
Think about it, sir, how many drug dealers you know ask for ID, (Ea). The thought

7. Effects Of Jurassic Park
In 1993, the movie Jurassic Park changed movies by adding in life like animatronic
dinosaurs and special effects that made the dinosaurs come to life. The special
effects and animatronics was enough for two more movies, which were The Lost

Jurassic Parkв…ў, came Jurassic World. Jurassic World was a well filmed movie
that didn t only have a good plot, but also starred famous actors and actresses such
as Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard as the main characters, and also Jimmy
Fallon.
While the movie was marvelous because of its amazing cast, the plot has to have
some credit. Jurassic World is a movie that takes place on the fictional island of Isla
Nublar, which is the home of cloned dinosaurs and the main setting of the Jurassic
Park film series. The movie starts off by introducing Zach and Grey, two brothers
visiting the park who are cousins of Claire Dearing, the operations manager. During
their trip to the park, scientists reveal a new genetically mutated dinosaur named the
Indominus Rex which escapes and causes havoc across the island. With the island

8. Environmentalism Personal Statement
I doubt anyone will contest that environmentalism is an elitist field. There are
many reasons for this. To be honest, I am a big ole city slicker. But in field research
is necessary and I know it won t always be comfortable; I assume Georgia in the
middle of the summer will be uncomfortable. I also have yet to do hardcore aquatic
bio research. I did take a full year in General Chemistry, and I have done
environmental lab work, but in neither class did I ever feel a hundred percent
comfortable. I think this program can provide something my classes could not:
comfort in a scientific environment.
I have only made it this far in my environmental studies, because of my department

present question: what, in essence, does Harper Lee mean when she declares it a sin

what is she truly implying? Is she discussing the events of Tom Robinson s fictional

The Scottsboro Boys was a nationally controversial case; and it all began with nine
African American men and two white women aboard a train. The train ride began
on March 25, 1931. A fight erupted between the African American men and the
white men on board the train, and the African American men won and forced the
white men off. After news of the fight spread to Paint Rock, Alabama, all able men
with weapons waited for the train to arrive for its mortar stop. When the train
pulled in, a racial confrontation immediately ensued. In the midst of it all, two
women, Victoria Price and Ruby Bates, emerged from a train car and claimed they
had been raped by the nine African American men that had been on the train. Only
the verbal confirmation from one of the white women that they had been raped
was enough to send the public into a frenzy. The men of Paint Rock surrounded
the African American boys and forced them to line up against a wall. Then they
aggressively made them stand and wait for a bus to take them to Scottsboro. The
Scottsboro Boys were surrounded by the aggressive public as soon as they were put
in the Scottsboro jail. The sheriff had to go out and declare that violence towards the
prisoners would result in violence towards the instigator. While Atticus Finch did not
condone violence, this is similar to the To Kill A Mockingbird jail scene.
Additionally, Victoria Price, one of the accusers, had traits similar to those of
Mayella Ewell. When the trials actually began, she would be extremely evasive on the
witness stand, and claim she did not know what would seem to be rather obvious
information. Also, her manner indicated she was uneducated, and like Mayella, and
she would frequently burst out in unintelligible streams of sentences. She was tough
as nails, with foul language, and improper clothes. She hardly fit the stereotype of the

person because she was a singer, talented, and beautiful individual. She had addictive

11. The Importance Of Traffic Laws
Laws are rules that bind all people living in a community. Laws protect our general
safety and ensure our rights as citizens against abuse by other people, organizations
and by the government. Laws exist at the local, state and national level. There are
laws that protect the rights of citizens such as the Bill of Rights that protect our
freedom of speech, religion and the press. There are laws that protect people from
discrimination of race, gender and age and disabilities. There are also rules and laws
to ensure safety on the roads. Laws that protect citizens on the street are known as
trafficlaws. Traffic laws have developed over time to help facilitate the orderly and
timely flow of traffic safely. There are a number of reasons traffic laws are
necessary such as safety, to reduce the number of fatalities and injuries on the
roads. According to the national safety council, an estimated 40,000 people died
from motor vehicle crashes in 2016 a rise of 6% from 2015. The national safety
council suggests that lower gas prices and increased motor mileage coupled with
risky activities while driving such as texting, playing with the radio and speeding
are responsible for the rise in fatalities and injuries. Most people recognize that
driving and vehicles can be dangerous for everyone on the roads including
passengers, pedestrians, cyclists; it is imperative that all drivers abide the traffic
laws. Many people become careless drivers and become desensitized to

Scenario:
In this experiment, you have been asked by your teacher, to investigate the design
of a small scale airbag system they want to produce as a child safety device to put
into baby strollers. Because of sodium azide s toxicity (which is used in many
vehicular airbags), it is suggested you use the reaction of NaHCOв‚ѓ (sodium
bicarbonate or baking soda) with an aqueous solution of HCL (stomach acid) to
produce COв‚‚ gas to test your engineering design. The reaction of hydrochloric acid
and sodium bicarbonate is: HCL + NaHCOв‚ѓ, one mole of COв‚‚ gas is produced.
Regarding the other products, NaCl dissolves in the water to create a salt solution
which occupies only a small portion of the volume inside the bag.

Hydrochloric acid the bag inflated in about one second and inflated to just the right
amount where the bag was not too hard and not too soft.
Experimental Error: There are several errors that could have taken place in this
lab. The first error could have been excess air being inside the bag before the
experiment starts. Another error could have been, left over water from previous
trials preformed in the lab. The third possible error could be, baking soda leaking out
of the egg into the hydrochloric acid causing a premature reaction.

14. Language Shaped the Reality of Our World
Introduction Throughout the decades, language has become a major interest as a
field of studies as it shaped our reality of the world. This interest has led into a new
development in theories and creating new methods as a way in studying and learning
about language uses and its roles in human society. From all of this, the theory and
ways of linear grammar have been created and developed. Linear Unit Grammar, to be
defined, is a way to conquer the limitations of previous hierarchical structures of
describing utterances. With Linear Unit Grammar, utterances are taken in small
portion called chunks, according to their purposes in the utterances. Linear Unit
Grammar develops though time thanks to three prominent theorists that have
contributed much in this field of studies. First of the bat is Francis, Hunstan and
Manning (1999), in their research of Pattern Grammar, as a part of Collins
Birmingham University International Database Language. In this model, utterances
are taken in a pattern to describe their syntactic environment, wordby word.
This are derived from the study on lexical occurrences in authentic linguistic corpora.
According to their studies, each individual word has their own set of patterns
assigned to it, which describe the context in which they are typically used. Not just
that, every word can also have more than one pattern, according to their word senses.
The next theorist in the list is a British linguist, Micheal Hoey, and his theory of

Maria Rosetta Greenhow was an essential asset to the Confederate cause during the
American Civil War. Her intel led to Confederate success at the Battle of Bull Run

comparison of different clustering algorithm techniques in data mining. Clustering
techniques is broadly used in many applications such as pattern recognition, market
research, image processing and data analysis. Cluster Analysis is an excellent data
mining tool for a large and multivariate database. A cluster of data objects can be
treated as one group. In clustering analysis our object is first partition the set of data
into similar data groups and then assigns labels to those groups. Clustering is a
suitable example of unsupervised classification. Keywords Data Mining; Clustering

I.INTRODUCTION
Data mining techniques are basically categorised into two major groups as
Supervised learning and Unsupervised learning. Clustering is a process of grouping
the similar data sets into groups. These groups should have two properties like
dissimilarity between the groups and similarity within the group. Clustering is
covered in the unsupervised learning category. There are no predefined class label

Mental Health is a multifaceted term that exceeds the traditionally thought notion that
to be well is to be absent of disease (Response Ability 2010, p. 5). Physical, mental
and social wellbeing are all components that correlate with mental health (Response

resilient by managing their mental healthrather than removing adversity or the
normal daily stresses of life (Response Ability 2010, p. 5). Poor mental health can
cause short and long term decline in an adolescent s overall happiness, academic
performance, social life, motivation and self esteem (Pearce, 2017). Evidence reveals
that approximately one in seven adolescent Australians experience a mental health
condition (Youth Beyond Blue, 2017) This staggering figure of 13.9% of adolescent
Australians demonstrates that mental health is a significant issue that all schools

mental health problems in schools in Australia. Evidence and critical analysis will
determine what needs to be implemented and changed in schools in Australia. It will
be argued through critical analysis that mental health issues must be continually
tackled in schools in Australia to ensure that all students receive an equitable
schooling experience and are healthy individuals. The key issues of mental health that
are prevalent among adolescents that will be discussed are self harm, depression and
anxiety and
22. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Lasers
The term laser originated as an acronym for light amplification by stimulated
emission of radiation. A laser is different from other sources of light in that it emits
light coherently1. Spatial coherence provides the advantage as a laser to be focused
to a spot, enabling applications such as lasercutting and lithography. Lasers also have
high temporal coherence, which allows them to emit lightwith a very narrow
spectrum. They can emit a single colour of light. Temporal coherence can be used to
produce pulses of light. Laser has a number of applications. They are used in printers,
barcode scanners, optical communication, laser surgery, skin treatment, cutting,
welding materials, and laser lighting in entertainment2. When it comes to biomedical
applications lasers are used in the tattoo removal, laser surgeries, diagnostic
procedures, therapeutic uses, and as an adjuvant therapies in several disorders.

Tissues preferentially absorb light at varying wavelengths. Light has dual nature as
described in Physics. When it is travelling, it is considered to be continuous wave
but when it strikes a tissue or a surface it is considered as particle named as Photon:
a pocket of energy2. Laser photons that travel through a given tissue with a high
absorption coefficient for its specific wavelength will lose energy through absorption
easily. Because these photons are readily absorbed, this light travels much shorter
distances than those light wavelengths that are not absorbed. The absorption of
photons from initial ray of laser eventually degrades the power of light with distance
travelled. Absorption coefficient for the various tissues is lesser at the wavelength of
light between 600 to 900 nm, which means better tissue penetration is seen in lasers

23. How The Process Of Human Digestion Works
How the process of human digestion works is it starts with your mouth, the
digestion starts as soon you take your first bite of your meal. When you chew it
helps the process by making it easier for the food to digest. Also the saliva mixes
with the food so that it can form it into something that the body can absorb and use.
The next place the food goes is the pharynx (throat), then the esophagus or swallowing
tube. The esophagus gets the food from the throat to the stomach. After the stomach is
the small intestineit continues the breaking down process of the food by using
enzymes released by the pancreas and bile from the liver. There are 3 other organs
that help the small intestine break down the food we eat. They are pancreas, liver, and

Tina Dupuy is known as an award winning writer, an investigative journalist, and a
comedian. She s written for The Atlantic, Fast Company, Los Angeles Times, Vox,

politics. The effect of satire in her writing allows people to see these issues in a new
light. Dupuy s style, being characterized with ethical appeal, colloquial expressions
and diction is expressed through wit and many rhetorical questions.
Dupuy begins her own interpretation of Obama s situation while in office, in her
article Black Presidents Matter by first addressing that critics labeled Obama a

25. Value Chain Essay
Value chain analysis is of vital importance for each and every firm in the business
world. It deals with adding value to each and every step in the working of the firm,
that is it adds value right from the raw materials being used to the end products or
the services of the firm. The value chain analysis describes the activities the
organisation performs and links them to the organisation s competitive position.
The idea of value chain was built upon the insight that a company is a random
compilation of machinery, equipment, people and money. Hence, value chain
came into existence which can arrange things into systems and systematic
activities for which customers will feel it worthwhile to buy a product or even
access the services of a particular firm. Value: Value is defined as the total amount
of money or revenue that the buyers are willing to pay for a particular product of
service of a firm. The value chain deals mainly with the value which is being added
to the product in each and every step which it goes through. Margin: The difference
between the total value or revenue to the total cost of performing all the activities in
the firm gives the margin of the firm. Value Chain: Value chain is defined as the
chain of activities for products, which on passing through each stage of the value
chain gains extra value which makes it a better product and also the firm offers
better services to its customers. It is of utmost importance for each and every firm

Over six million innocent lives were taken during the Holocaust. It had a
significant effect on much of the world s population, and it still has an impact to
this day. In Sylvia Plath s poem, Daddy , she shows her emotions for her father,
Otto Plath. Sylvia Plath lost her father at eight years old when she still had much
love for him (Famous People Biography ). After a number of years, hatred is built
up inside of Sylvia towards her father. When her father first died, she loved him
and she grieved over her father s death. After years of confusion, she eventually
decided and wrote, Daddy, Daddy, you bastard, I m through (Line 80). In Daddy
by Sylvia Plath, the author resents her father and husband so much that they are
comparable to Nazi Germans, showing her feelings for them through poetic
devices. The speaker says that her German father is like a Nazi and that she feels
like a Jew. This metaphor is the most powerful one in the entire poem. It shows us
as readers how she feels like she is a victim of her father. She never directly calls
him a Jew though. She points to the fact using metaphors and imagery. For
example, the author wrote: I thought every German was you. And the language

The perimeters of a black holehave been a great this that has been discussed and

(Clegg, Brian)
Karl Schwarzschild found a solution to Einstein s theory, if enough matter was
packed in to a small region of space, he said, it should have a strong enough
gravitational field that even light couldn t escape it. Roy Kerr stated that the
bigger the star, the greater the drag on the space time around it. But later his
equations were looked at again and it was shown that this theory would be applied
to black holes. 1971, an x ray satellite, Uhuru, had spotted a flicking that was shown
by a binary star system of a white supergiant and a black hole. The black hole was
taking the gas that was being emitted by the white supergiant and while the gas
spiraled in to it, spurts of gas were ripped from the faster then the speed of light.
Stephen Hawking shows that black holes may not be black: they may emit a form of
radiation that will eventually cause them to evaporate. (Black Hole Encyclopedia yr.
1974) this type of radiation was coined as hawking radiation, for it stated that when
hawking particles were near the event horizon, the negatively charged side would fall
in while the positive flew out, making the firewall paradox. (Black hole Encyclopedia)
The problem with the black hole is the understanding of where does the information

28. The Secret River By Kate Grenville And William
Shakespeare
How has the Kate Grenville and William Shakespeare used compositional features to
express both similar and different ideas of difference and power?
The Secret River, set in England and Australia, was written by Kate Grenville in
2006. William Shakespeare s play Othello was written in 1603 and set in Venice.
Kate Grenville and William Shakespeare used compositional features to express both
similar and different ideas of difference and power. They have cohesive ideas of
power such as the use of structure and symbolism to convey power however, differ in
their structure. They both expressed race through the context of the novel, setting,
narrative perspective and imagery. However, 17th century english conveyed the idea
of difference with greater subtlety than Kate Grenville s use of modern english .
Similarly both texts contain powerful characters, however, these characters are
differently placed and different compositional features were used to portray these
ideas.
Kate Grenville and William Shakespeare expressed ideas of power through
representation of objects as well as the structure and society within the text. Both
texts express power through gender, race and class through the main characters.
Othello, and William Thornhill play the main roles in these two stories however, the
decision that lead to the gain or loss of power were sub characters; Iago and Smasher.

Inherent safety: The primary means for controlling the risk shall be design for
inherent safety. This is covered by Layout/arrangement and Containment. The
containment function shall prevent any leaks from occurring, and should a leak

Madame Bovoary
In the writing s of the Jonathan Swift we can clearly see issues and concepts with
regard to morality, ethics and relations come into play in our society and in Gulliver

The very concepts and beliefs that man holds dear Swift attacks and strongly justifies

questions that if man is a creature who can practice reason, then why is it that no
other creature can when the idea and practice of reason cannot only lye within the
reaches of man. As his two new associates guide him to the small village of the
Houyhnhnms he begins to view and assimilate all he can about the culture and
customs of this new race of beings that he has discovered. The Houyhnhnms,
through the master also began to do the same for they are very confused as to how
a Yahoo can obtain such a vast knowledge of speech, language and gentle
interaction. One of the first things that confused Gulliver as well as myself is the
inability of the Houyhnhnms to tell a falsehood and have no word in their
language to express lying or falsehood (P. 209) I guess that there is a kind of
ignorance that is perpetuated between Gulliver and his Master about the extent and
the abilities of all creatures of the world. This is clearly expressed in the many
conversations about the concepts of how they and their kind view the world

Since the focus of this paper is international theme parks, only a brief history of the
American theme parks will be discussed. Walt Disney thought of the idea of the
theme park one day when he took his daughters to a local park and watched them as
they rode the merry go round (Disney, 2009). Disney wanted a place where children
and their parents could have fun and enjoy the rides together (Disney, 2009).
Disneyland was, thus,
Conceived as a celebration of America s past and as a paean to its progress, or as
Walt Disney put it: the older generation can recapture the nostalgia of the days gone
by, and the younger generation can savor the challenge of the future (Bryman, 1999,
p.31).
As Bryman argues, Disneyland was designed to make the older generation feel
nostalgic. This feeling of nostalgia is created on Main Street, USA and Frontierland
which represent America s past. Disneyland was also created to capture the
imagination of children as seen in Fantasyland and Tomorrowland.
Disneyland opened in Anaheim, California on July 17th, 1955. Walt Disney s theme
park idea soon expanded past what he had space to build in California which
prompted the building of the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. The
Magic Kingdom, the first theme park built at Disney World, opened after his death
in October of 1971 (Disney, 2009). The feeling of nostalgia is recreated and
expanded in the Magic Kingdom with the addition of a land named Liberty Square .

33. Diagnosing And Treating Patients Defines The Overall
Goal...
Diagnosing and treating patients defines the overall goal of any hospital. In
providing healthcare to a patient, the first step in handling a concern is a diagnosis.
Delivering the correct diagnosis determines the resulting healthcare needed to treat a
patient. If an error in diagnosis were to occur, improper treatment may be given to
the patient or the correct treatment may be postponed or even withheld.6 Diagnostic
errors occur frequently, can be caused from a variety of reasons, and have adverse
effects on patients, their families, and even the hospitals that they occur at.
What exactly are diagnostic errors? Diagnostic errors are errors that arise from a
delayed, missed, or incorrect diagnosis.4 Diagnostic errors are relevant in all forms
of medicine and are a sign of a lack of patient care. They can occur in any step of
the diagnostic process: evaluation, patient history, physical exams, testing, referral,
and follow up.8 Errors can happen from a multitude of reasons such as
misjudgments, deficiency of knowledge, or lack of technique.3 As well, it is proven
that malpractice claims that relate to diagnostic errors outweigh all alternative forms
of medical mistakes.5 They are the most frequent, the most expensive, and the most
hazardous form of error in reference to patient health. These types of errors are more
liable to cause a patient death than other types of malpractice including surgical errors
or drug overdoses.7 Considering how life threatening a misdiagnosis

October 17, 2015 Media vs. the body Image Body image remains to be a very
controversial topic in today s society, because of how easy it is to become a hate
crime over a small comment on how small or big someone s body is. Today, it is
unavoidable to see the look that it seems society wants us to look. Professor Susan
Bordo writes the article, Never Just Pictures , describing her investigation between
the media and its effects on how people view their bodies. She uses ethos, logos,
and pathos to bring in the attention of the people, in order to get her message across
to be aware of media and how they portray the ideal body image. Bordo notes the
patterns of the different types of models that magazines and commercial ads use,
to say that even though they have changed the face of beauty, they never really
changed the body of it. And she analyzes the affects that these ads have on how
people view their bodies, and alter what the ideal body image is. Bordo uses other
sources to prove her argument mainly allowing readers to have more reasons to side
with her argument. Having reviewed this article, I think that we should publish this
article in the Shorthorns, because it will attract the attention of most people, since
right now young people still struggle with differentiating between what is a real
body and what is a body that has been altered for the likes of what the media likes.
Bordo s main claim to the article is that media is
37. Argumentative Essay On Invasive Species
Humans are faced with the issues caused by invasive species and must make a
decision. What should we do? Should we step in and rid the ecosystems of these
harmful species? Or should we let nature solve its own problem? I believe humans
must take action in stopping these invasive plants from destroying ecosystems,
attracting more invasive animals, and harming the native wildlife. By taking action,
people will eliminate the problem in a shorter, more effective manor. One article
states, Since people can now travel around the world much more easily than they
ever could before, it has become easier to introduce invasive speciesby accident,
(Alien Attack, paragraph 5). This demonstrates how quickly species can spread
with the help of humans. People need to eliminate these species faster in order to
save ecosystems. Overall, humans need to remove all invasive species before they
take over the ecosystems of the world. Humans must also take action because the
invasive species may attract more alien animals. The article entitled Pesky Pets

River. They are... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An article states, If they do manage to survive in the wild, domesticated animals take
resources from native species, (Pesky Pets, paragraph 4). This exemplifies the
damage that invasive species cause to native plants and animals. An invasive plant
could poison native animals, which would unbalance the ecosystem. Some may
believe that if humans step in they will cause even more unbalance. However, this is
not a credible statement because those people are not taking account of the amount of
disturbance that will occur if we don t do anything. The amount of damage will be
miniscule to the amount of damage that would be upon the ecosystem if nothing is
done. Therefore, humans must take action before any harm falls upon the native
plants and
38. Much Ado About Nothing Language Analysis
The power of language can allow one to seek identity and an opinion. Like many of
his past comedies, William Shakespeare s 1598 play, Much Ado About Nothing
allows Beatrice, a powerful, plot changing woman to have a voice and a sense of
equality. Beatrice uses wit and disguise to become Shakespeare s strong female
character in Much Ado About Nothing. This is evident by the analysis of the typical
15th century woman and Beatrice herself.
Shakespeare s perception of women in Much Ado About Nothing is almost parallel
to that of Elizabethan society. They believe women are not only inferior to men, but
also consider them as their possession and property. Shakespeare conveys Hero as the
typical 15th century woman. In Act 2, Scene 3, Balthasar states, ... Show more content

Throughout the story, Beatrice shows that her intellect is not only equal to that of
a man s, but at times also superior. Shakespeare allows her the freedom of speech
because it is done in a context of humor. Leonato reinforces this in Act 1 Scene 1,
You must not, sir, mistake my niece. There is a kind of merry war betwixt Signior
Benedick and her. They never meet but there s a skirmish of wit between them.
Her battles of wit in which she partakes with Benedick is normally unallowed, but
because the arguments resulted to be humorous, the audience accepts her biteful
tongue. Beatrice is able to walk on a line of insolence, carefully not crossing it.
Furthermore, Beatrice also uses her linguistic ability to ward off suitors until she
came upon a man on her own terms who appreciates her wit and respects her as an
individual. This is conveyed in Act 2, Scene 1 where Beatrice states, Not till God
make men of some other metal than earth. Would it not grieve a woman to be
overmastered with a piece of valiant dust? To make an account of her life to a clod
of wayward marl? No, uncle, I ll none. Although Beatrice ends up marrying Benedick
and is forgiven for her insolence, conforming to society s expectations, their marriage
ties in a mutual understanding, being able to argue and be honest with one another.
Therefore using her smart tongue, Beatrice is able to become

branches of mathematics such as infinitesimal calculus and graph theory, as well as
pioneering contributions to topology and analytic number theory. He also revised

I found that creating an annotated bibliography was incredibly useful and
important in helping me organize my research. The assignment forced me to keep
track of my sources. I like to scan through journals quickly and take notes on what
information I d like to revisit based on titles and headlines. My method is great for
finding research, but the downside is that I can sometimes lose track of the
properly cited source for the information. I think this is incredibly valuable because
of the real problems that exist due to plagiarism. As I was researching, I looked
only at two initial items to determine if I would continue to investigate the article. I
wanted to see if the authors had graduate degrees and if the article (or other
information) was published in an academic journal or respectively similar format.

1.What is Procrastination?
Procrastination is actually giving priority to less urgent tasks in place of more urgent
tasks. It can also be defined as doing the things causing immense pleasure to a person
instead of less pleasurable ones and thus, postponing the important tasks, sometimes
to the edge of the deadline.
2.Why do people procrastinate?
The principle of pleasure is mostly the main cause of procrastination. Every human
prefers to do desirable tasks which are a source of joy for him instead of taking
painstaking and stressful tasks on his head.

a.Skill Deficits: It is one of the major reasons for procrastination. If a person does not
have the skill or ability to complete the required task, he would avoid or prolong it
for sure.
b.Lack of Interest: It plays a significant role in procrastination. If the work stuff
seems boring to a person, he won t show any interest in that, which would lead him
to take the work casually. The solution is to just do it which would save you time for
the tasks in which you are more
42. Louis Armstrong And Duke Ellington
As we all know that over the years the music genre Jazz has changed dramatically.
With all the changes that has happened some aspects of the genre remained or
endured little change. One trait in jazz that remained throughout all the success of the
genre is certain composers. The instruments had a slight change through the years but
it still continue to be tight throughout.
Throughout jazz there is a couple of ledges that had their hands in the success of the
jazz genre as a whole. Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington are two composters that
single handily contributed to the evolution of jazz. Both Louis and Armstrong
performed for over fifty years. With this amount of time performing they both touch
many eras in jazz. Although Duke was very influential during this time period I like
Louie timeline more. Most likely because we are both from New Orleans and I feel
closer to him.
Before Armstrong had a great influenced on jazz music there was the Dixieland. So,
before Louis Armstrong came around everyone was playing the Dixieland style of
music. Dixieland style was more of the classical orchestrated structures. Within the
bad everyone knew their roles and that wasn t change. Everyone knew that the Bass
was there for the low pitched walking baseline which outlined the harmony. That the
piano provided the syncopated commentary along with comping and the guitar
provided the solos. While the drums provided things like swing, kicked of the solos
and many more. Dixieland was
43. Kid Cudi Meaning
The possibility of not having the chance to experience life s timeless moments all
over again is disappointing; therefore, it is an individual s job to seize every one of
them, carpe diem. In 2009, the Hip Hop artist Kid Cudi wrote a song expressing a
lifestyle of seizing life s moments called The Pursuit of Happiness. He mentions
late nights consisting of parties and drugs in the search for happiness that everyone
desires. The song talks about how the journey to happiness can develop into a
lifestyle of substance abuse, apprehension, and regrets even though happiness is
possibly at the end. Though it deteriorates them as a whole the mindset as quoting

That s why immediately after asking a question he answers it for the listeners,
because they haven t experienced his happiness. In the last two lines of the second
verse, he is saying while others are laying awake worrying about their struggles, he
is busy drinking his sorrows away. On another hand, The Pursuit of Happiness has
less thrilling lyrics and it focuses on achieving happiness but the journey may not
be as glamorous as intended. There are aspects of life that are not deceitful, but it is
worth it in the long run. The chorus explains this perfectly by stating: I m in the
pursuit of happiness and I know Everything that shines ain t always gold And I ll be

44. Analysis Of Emily Dickinson s My Life Had Stood-A
Loaded Gun
In Emily Dickinson, My Life had stood A Loaded gun , we as the reader see how a
female protagonist stand s up for herself in defense of the male antagonist.
However, in two contrasting literary theory s we see a difference of opinion. The
first literary theory is by Sarah Ahmed and the theory is displayed in her writing
called, Living a Feminist Life. Throughout her work she displays the importance for
feminismin todays world and how one should separate themselves if necessary. The
second work that we have is by Donna Harawaycalled A CyborgManifesto, the main
idea throughout the work is contrasting with Ahmed in the importance for
unification. The unification the Haraway uses is by explaining cyborgs and how
humans would react with them, but more importantly how unification of humans
and machines effects us. Throughout the essay Haraway and Ahmed s theory s will
be explained and the differences shown. In Dickinson s novel the first stanza
shows how the woman is being passed by without having any voice, it specifically
states, My Life had stood a Loaded Gun In Corners till a Day The Owner passed
identified And carried Me away . In the first stanza it is clear how the woman is
referring to herself as a gun that is of no use to her owner . The owner is
presumably a man and has minimal use for her as someone would for a gun. With
that being said a gun is a weapon built with an immense power and it is ofter
overlooked how powerful it is. The same goes for
45. The United States And Uk Constitution
The Separation of powers refers to the idea that the major institutions of state should
be functionally independent and that no individual should have powers that span
these offices. The principal institutions are usually taken to be the executive, the
legislature and the judiciary. Therefore, the organs of state as described by
Montesquieu should operate separately order to successfully implement law and
order to the UK.
Comparing both the US and UK constitution, there are some very obvious differences.
For example, the US has a written constitution whereas the UK has constitutional
provisions scattered across various statutes . The UK constitution has a lack of
separation compared to the US however, this operates under a presidential power but
it is still appreciated that the UK present some separation between the three bodies
that operate the country.
So what are the major institutions and what do they aim to achieve? The legislature
is Parliament, the supreme law making body and democratic leaders of the UK. The
legislature reign sovereign over the UK as they are not bound by successors nor
predecessors and have full control with regards to the creation of statute and the
repeal of statutes in existence. The executive is most commonly known as the
Government, thus formulating Government policies and executing them alike. The
judiciary are the enforcers of the law which is made by the legislature and also to
adapt and interpret laws is order to avoid absurdity
46. Compare And Contrast Sigmund Freud And Carl Rogers
Sigmund Freud and Carl Rogers are two psychologists who developed theories on
personalities. Sigmund Freud was known as the Father of Psychoanalysis and his
well known theory stated that nearly all psychological issues went back to a sexual
problem. Carl Rogers was a humanistic psychologist who researched the personality
theory in the notion of the self or the self concept.
Freud was known for having the inclinations to follow every mental issue back to
sexual issues. Despite the fact that lone parts of his hypothesis of psychosexual
advancement are being acknowledged by standard analysts, Freud s hypothesis of
the Oedipal Complex has turned out to be extremely well known in the way of life.
That hypothesis is the critical for sexual association with the parent of the inverse sex
and a corresponding feeling of contention with the parent of a similar sex. Sigmund
Freud acquainted us with the idea in his Interpretation of Dreams in 1899.
Psychoanalysis is a system of psychological theory and therapy that aims to treat
mental disorders by investigating the interaction of conscious and unconscious
elements. Freud developed this theory all because of his study of the unconscious
mind. And that the unconscious mind will govern your mind and behavior to a
greater than anyone would ever think would be done. The whole purpose of of the
psychoanalysis theory is to to turn the unconscious conscious. That s what
psychoanalysis is and how it was developed (McLeod, 2014).

47. Difference Between Alienation And Karl Marx
Alienation was a subject matter of psychology until Karl marx penned it down in his
writings by assosiating this phenomenon with capitalism which was a social
phenomenon.
He described alienation as a situation in which the creations of humanity appear to
humans as alien objects. Such creations are seen as independent fro their creators and
invested with the power to control them. People create their own society, but will
remain alienated until they recognise themselves within their ownc reation, Until that
time, humans will assign an independent existence to objects, ideas and institutions
and be controlled by them. In the process, marx described, humans lose themselves,
become strangers in the world they created; they become alienated.

Society has witnessed a paradigm shift since the time when Marx wrote his theory of
Alienation and even though Marx considered revolution as the only solution to
alienation but he could not envisage the very fact that the concept of Revolution in
itself would become a distant dream for workers. In today s capitalism, workers now
feel alienated from revolutionary consciousness itself which is required to overcome
the alienation they feel in capitalist production
48. The For A Large 3d Printing Company As A Global Sales...
The risk of fraud in organizations has dramatically increased in recent times due to
the pressures caused by the financial crisis. I currently work for a large 3D printing
company as a global sales coordinator. My job includes most of the follow but it is
not limited too primarily assisting the sales team, focusing mostly on managing
schedules and the distribution of any sales documentation. I daily prepare and then
follow up on any sales quotations made for clients, negotiating terms with the client
at a cost best suited for them. I respond to any online or telephone queries. Liaise
between other departments and the client to provide the service most suitable to the
client s needs, cost and time restraint. I work closely with the Sales team to assess
the progress of the department and develop Sales strategy accordingly. Produce
monthly reports on progress within the department and outline any developed
strategies to improve. As a Coordinator I am responsible for overseeing any
supercharges and evaluating any alterations to both external and internal staff. Each
quarter we are responsible for an extensive overview of our financial records and we
submit those to an outside accounting service to ensure there is no room for error.
These reports are then constructed and submitted to our company stakeholders and
Wall Street. Organizations that are under pressure to present positive financial results
to shareholders, parent companies, banks, creditors and other key stakeholders
49. Organizational Culture And Its Cultural Culture
To greet each other in Tibet, you stick out your tongue and put your hands together in
front of your chest. In Japan, it is only polite if you bow to each other when greeting.
There are hundreds of different ethnic groups in the world and they all have their own
customs and traditions that stemmed out from their underlying culture. Similar to
these ethnic groups, each organization also have their own unique culture that guides
how people behave and what people believe in within the organization.
In formal terms, organizational culture is the set of values, norms, guiding beliefs,
and understandings that is shared by members of an organization and is taught to
new members. [p.332; Organization theory Design; Daft, Armstrong] Put it in
simple terms, it is basically how the employees in a company are expected to
behave and go about their daily business. Organizational culture can be observed in
visible artifacts and employee behaviors such as symbols, slogan, the way people
talk, the way people dress, and even the atmosphere at the workplace. These visible
artifacts and observable behaviors reflects the deeper values and beliefs of each
member of the organization which in turn represents the true culture. I have the
privilege to be working for TD Canada Trust for the past two years and this is an
organization that oozes the word culture . First thing you learn at training (rite of
passage) is the logo (green armchair) and the slogan (Banking can be this
comfortable) of

Oppenheimer himself bet ten dollars that the test would be a failure and there would
