Production Process Evaluation
Research
• The research used worked well as I was familiar with the magazine as I’ve
read it a few times before working on it. The research helped with my end
result as I ended up setting my front page out in a similar way to a existing
product also it helped as I could use colours that all work well with each
other. A weakness of this research is that because its all very minimal and
simple not much detail is put into it as there isn’t much content to put in.
To improve it I would of used existing product that where different to what
I was used so I could have seen other types of versions .
Planning
• For that planning I use mind maps and mood boards at the start for things
such as the colour pallet and ways to lay the text and images out. This
worked well as is was easy to change anything if I needed to or add things
into it. I helped as it was something I could keep going back to for help and
to refer to. The weakness about this is that its all mainly done though
images with little text in it. I could have been done better by doing some
planning with out a lot of images and done a mood board but with just
text in it. It had a effect on the product as for the whole thing I was
constantly going back to it for ideas.
Time Management
• I managed my time well as I put all the time I had equally into everything I
did. If I had more time I would have put a lot more content into it such as
getting the exact font that the brand talked about use. Also, I would have
explored what other colours ways and styles I could do.
Technical Qualities
They both simple
designs with
minimal styles.
They use basic
colours with the
use of a few
bright colours
without it.
A difference is
that they use no
text at all on
them.
They use basic
fonts and bother
trying to doing
anything fancy.
Aesthetic Qualities
The work
looks good
and is
unique.
I would have
used a different
font to match
the font on the
clothing.
I would have
change the
positioning s or
colours to make it
easier to read.
The theme with
the black and white
works well with
what the text says.
Audience Appeal
It would appeal to
the target audience
as it talks and
features thing that
are popular within
the age range.
The image appeal
as teenagers
these are
obsessed with
high end luxury
fashion.
Talking
about the
ethos could
appeal to
older people
as they
would like
to know the
meaning
behind
everything.
Peer
Feedback
Feedback 1
• What did you like about the product?
The magazine had structure with titles and was relatively minimal and
suggested ‘brand ethos’ rather than a large read. Colour scheme was in
keeping with the some of the magazines and those that pay particular
attention to brand with little writing and more image. The text was
appropriately sized and font was easy to read and eye catching. Highlighting
key words was a good use of colour.
• What improvements could have been made to the product?
• Easier text that reads easier. More context about what the text was going
to say and maybe an introduction to the text. Images would be better
used if reduced in pixels. The text may not be easily read by the average
man on the street and not well understood, so it may not appeal to all.
Feedback 2
• What did you like about the product? Could be easily used
in print and online. I like the different style of writing and
font. It makes it more interesting. It is not too text heavy.
• What improvements could have been made to the
product?
The audience it appeals too may be limited. It could therefore
be re written to appeal to a wider audience. Not sure if the
images could portray something deeper as I think it is better
to see a face but that’s my personal opinion.
Peer Feedback Summary
• What do you agree with from your peer
feedback? I agree that the print of the text could have been a lot
more easy to read. I could have changed the colour of the text and or the
font as well.
• What do you disagree with from your peer
feedback?I disagree that it could have more context added in to
appeal to a wider range of people. I think this because the whole point of
it is that its only supposed to be aimed at one time of person.
Peer Feedback Summary
I would have spent more time on making the text stand out
a lot more to the reader or to make the background
different so that it would have been more visible from a
distance. I also would have done something to the
background, I would have done this because it is hard to
read unless you are closer to it. I also would have used I
higher resolution picture so that it would have been a
sharper image and the text would have looked nicer in font
of it.

If I had more time I would have put a lot more content into it such as getting the exact font that the brand talked about use. Also, I would have explored what other colours ways and styles I could do.
  • 6. Technical Qualities They both simple designs with minimal styles. They use basic colours with the use of a few bright colours without it. A difference is that they use no text at all on them. They use basic fonts and bother trying to doing anything fancy.
  • 7. Aesthetic Qualities The work looks good and is unique. I would have used a different font to match the font on the clothing. I would have change the positioning s or colours to make it easier to read. The theme with the black and white works well with what the text says.
  • 8. Audience Appeal It would appeal to the target audience as it talks and features thing that are popular within the age range. The image appeal as teenagers these are obsessed with high end luxury fashion. Talking about the ethos could appeal to older people as they would like to know the meaning behind everything.
  • 10. Feedback 1 • What did you like about the product? The magazine had structure with titles and was relatively minimal and suggested ‘brand ethos’ rather than a large read. Colour scheme was in keeping with the some of the magazines and those that pay particular attention to brand with little writing and more image. The text was appropriately sized and font was easy to read and eye catching. Highlighting key words was a good use of colour. • What improvements could have been made to the product? • Easier text that reads easier. More context about what the text was going to say and maybe an introduction to the text. Images would be better used if reduced in pixels. The text may not be easily read by the average man on the street and not well understood, so it may not appeal to all.
  • 11. Feedback 2 • What did you like about the product? Could be easily used in print and online. I like the different style of writing and font. It makes it more interesting. It is not too text heavy. • What improvements could have been made to the product? The audience it appeals too may be limited. It could therefore be re written to appeal to a wider audience. Not sure if the images could portray something deeper as I think it is better to see a face but that’s my personal opinion.
  • 12. Peer Feedback Summary • What do you agree with from your peer feedback? I agree that the print of the text could have been a lot more easy to read. I could have changed the colour of the text and or the font as well. • What do you disagree with from your peer feedback?I disagree that it could have more context added in to appeal to a wider range of people. I think this because the whole point of it is that its only supposed to be aimed at one time of person.
  • 13. Peer Feedback Summary I would have spent more time on making the text stand out a lot more to the reader or to make the background different so that it would have been more visible from a distance. I also would have done something to the background, I would have done this because it is hard to read unless you are closer to it. I also would have used I higher resolution picture so that it would have been a sharper image and the text would have looked nicer in font of it.
