Production Process Evaluation
Research
• For the research I looked online to see what game are out there that mine
would be like. Looking for common themes within them to see what works
with them. As well as looking online I also went onto the app store to see
what people are playing at the time. Because I have been looking at the
popular games my end result would be similar to them. It works well as I
can see what works well with what real people like to play. It will work well
in my end result because I will be able to see trends are in them type of
games. It helped when making the game its within how to draw it out with
the shading the characters, I used modern looking games and then put my
own style onto it.
Planning
• For the planning I drew out the basic items in the game such as the
characters and weapons as well as the background/ play area. I would do
it all in photo shop on a white background with different animations for
the characters moving and the environment. The things such as the
background stayed the same by the final result but I could have spent
more time making it more detailed. The planning helped with the final
product because it meant I could just start without spending a long time
thing about what I wanted to do.
Time Management
• If I had more time I would have added animations to the character for
movement as I already it drawn out. Also, I would have added more details
to the background and characters or made it last longer. I spent to long
choosing what type of game I wanted it to be and look like. Also I took a
while deciding the genre of the game and art style. I would have liked add
in sound effect for the game but I didn't have enough time to add them in
so it ended up being silent. I think that I used up my time well but I could
have spent more time adding in more audio.
Technical Qualities
Mine uses that same art
style for the background
as well as the characters
but this uses a higher
quality picture for the
back.
The existing product
used animations for
different parts such as
moving or walking and
using your weapon to
attack to other player
The existing game
gives the player a
HUD and
information in the
game but mine is
completely blank.
Giving the player no
type of information.
The existing game
uses different
animations for
each action done
by the characters
such as attacking or
moving around.
Aesthetic Qualities
The end product ended
up looking good as well
as not unique as there
are no existing products
that look like it and
doesn’t copy any other
games. Also, it looks like
it could actually be a
real game.
It used a lo of aspects
from my planning in
the end like the art
style I did in my
planner in photo shop
and used the exact
ones in my end.
If I ad more time to do
it I would have done
more by adding in
more into the playable
area or even add in
some different type
on animations in for
action during the
game.
Also, I would have done
more with the audio like
adding in more music for
different actions would
have made it a lot better.
I think that all the work done
before by planning it out helped
by letting me go back and see
what else I could add into it.
Audience Appeal
The game gets to its target
audience because that it is
a game that has themes
that people would enjoy,
such as being a games that
is all about fighting.
The fact that it’s a fighting
game and being faster
game will help with the
target audience and will fit
in with it.
It being set out as a pixel 2d
game
Would be something that some
older people would enjoy and
not just having younger people
wanting to play
As with mine this uses a
stationary background and
the only things moving are
the players them self

Feedback
Feedback 1
• What did you like about the product?
• The graphic design was drawn well.
• The objective of the game was very clear.
• The music suited the games style and was well paced.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product? The movement of the character was slow
and would have benefitted from more frames and a faster
speed.
• There is limited potential to the gameplay and this may not
attract older audiences.
Feedback 2
• What did you like about the product?
– Easy platform style game. Straightforward character and background.
It is a game like many others where by you move up, down and
forwards avoiding trying to fall off the step ups. It is a 2D. It has a
theme of outdoors. Good use of music in the background. Go at own
pace.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product? Collect items so it has more purpose. Create another
level. Consider alternative manoeuvres so you can seek out missed items.
Maybe consider a more creative backdrop and this may help with creating
something in 3D. A landscape maybe for ground and sky or an under
world.
Feedback 3
• What did you like about the product?
– One easy character. Easy to see background and object of the game
too. Background music makes it more interesting. The background
makes it easy to guess what will happen as with many games. It
assists in telling a brief story but that is brief due to it only being a
clip of something bigger. A usual platform game like some others.
Even pacing of the character.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product? Could use other characters that could be avoided
as well as the stepping up and falling off. Could have a point of
collecting something or items that change the character. Brighter
background with different worlds as you progress. Add more colours
to add depth to background. Could be more complex in its objective.
Peer Feedback Summary
• What do you agree with from your peer
feedback? I agree that the music works well with the type of game it is
and it goes well with the pace and speed of the game, also I agree that the
drawing of everything match up well to each other.
• What do you disagree with from your peer
feedback?I disagree with that the colours should have been a lot
more brighter. But the game is supposed to be about a ghost so I wouldn’t
work as well if it was lighter.
Peer Feedback Summary
I would have added in more of the playable area
such as being able going into different room or
outside so that the game would have been longer
and more in depth to play. Also, I would have made
the game more interactive by adding in tasks to
complete during the game. Adding in some sound
effects for some different actions such moving
around or interacting with the environment.
