This document analyzes research on magazine covers aimed at teenage audiences. Key findings include using bright colors that stand out, prominently featuring attractive young singers on the cover, and including subheadings to provide information on articles inside and attract readers. These elements will be incorporated into the designer's own magazine cover, including using a well-known singer doing charity work to appeal to teenagers' interests and show a positive role model. The intended audience is described as gender neutral, with a balanced mix of simple and sophisticated design, and articles that are informative rather than focused on gossip.
2. The masthead is in two
different colours and
two different fonts. I
think the pink is used
because it is aimed at
girls
The feature article
photo is of Justin who
the main article is
about and he matches
with the beach kind of
colour background
barcode a
common thing
used to produce
The colours of
a beach and
sky have been
used for the

this goes with
Justin wearing
sleeveless top
Plug stand out to
draw in the
audience to
enter for the
prize
Subheading to catch
the audiences
attention and give
them more information
of what's inside
3. Masthead is in one
bright colour to
make it stand out I
think this also
seems it is aimed at
a teenage audience
Main image is a picture of Demi Lovato
wearing a dark jacket with a light t-shirt
under she's the main focus which
attracts the audience
Sub heading used as a
good eye catching
technique showing
what is inside the
magazine to pull
more readers in
Buzz words such
as “exclusive”
used to make the
reader feel they
are first to be
finding out this
news
4. The masthead is
pink seemingly
aimed at females
and the name
‘Seventeen’ shows
this might be
aimed at teenagers
Plug draws the
attention of the
audience to look at
the way to win the
chance to meet him
This magazine uses
subheading and
cover lines to give
extra information on
what's in the
magazine
5. Research Analysis
• What common features do the researched products
have? They all have a main picture of a young and
attractive singer. They’ve used pink because they stand
out and it is a warm colour.
• What aspects of the research will you include within
your on work?
Ill use a main picture of a well known singer looking
directly at the reader, I will also use bright colours to
stand out to the reader. I will use someone who not only
sings but helps with charity work this will show them as a
good role model to teenagers for example Demi Lovato
on the cover of Glamour.
