"Impact of front-end architecture on development cost", Viktor TurskyiFwdays
I have heard many times that architecture is not important for the front-end. Also, many times I have seen how developers implement features on the front-end just following the standard rules for a framework and think that this is enough to successfully launch the project, and then the project fails. How to prevent this and what approach to choose? I have launched dozens of complex projects and during the talk we will analyze which approaches have worked for me and which have not.
Essentials of Automations: Optimizing FME Workflows with ParametersSafe Software
Are you looking to streamline your workflows and boost your projects’ efficiency? Do you find yourself searching for ways to add flexibility and control over your FME workflows? If so, you’re in the right place.
Join us for an insightful dive into the world of FME parameters, a critical element in optimizing workflow efficiency. This webinar marks the beginning of our three-part “Essentials of Automation” series. This first webinar is designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills to utilize parameters effectively: enhancing the flexibility, maintainability, and user control of your FME projects.
Here’s what you’ll gain:
- Essentials of FME Parameters: Understand the pivotal role of parameters, including Reader/Writer, Transformer, User, and FME Flow categories. Discover how they are the key to unlocking automation and optimization within your workflows.
- Practical Applications in FME Form: Delve into key user parameter types including choice, connections, and file URLs. Allow users to control how a workflow runs, making your workflows more reusable. Learn to import values and deliver the best user experience for your workflows while enhancing accuracy.
- Optimization Strategies in FME Flow: Explore the creation and strategic deployment of parameters in FME Flow, including the use of deployment and geometry parameters, to maximize workflow efficiency.
- Pro Tips for Success: Gain insights on parameterizing connections and leveraging new features like Conditional Visibility for clarity and simplicity.
We’ll wrap up with a glimpse into future webinars, followed by a Q&A session to address your specific questions surrounding this topic.
Don’t miss this opportunity to elevate your FME expertise and drive your projects to new heights of efficiency.
DevOps and Testing slides at DASA ConnectKari Kakkonen
My and Rik Marselis slides at 30.5.2024 DASA Connect conference. We discuss about what is testing, then what is agile testing and finally what is Testing in DevOps. Finally we had lovely workshop with the participants trying to find out different ways to think about quality and testing in different parts of the DevOps infinity loop.

1. Question 5 – How did
you attract/address
your audience?
2. I had to bare in mind about my target audience so I used bold,
bright colours to attract their attention. At first I was aiming
my magazine at both boys and girls but after researching pop
magazines, they were mainly bright colours and boys tend to
go for rock magazines or magazines with dark colours. So I
then changed to attract girls. By doing this I decided to use
feminine colours such as pinks, purples, blues. The colour
scheme went well with the picture as I changed the contrast to
make it brighter and more appealing
3. For my fonts, I used a simple one as I didn’t want to make it
too fancy or too rock ‘n roll for my design. I made the title of
my magazine bigger than the rest of the writing because then
it will appeal more to my audience when it is on the shelf in
the shops. I didn’t do any fancy design on my title as I looked at
other magazines such as ‘Q’, ‘NME’ and ‘Vibe’ and they do not
have any fancy design and sometimes, simple is best. For this
issue, I wanted to make it a ‘special’ issue which would draw
the audience in more. By doing this, I put it to the side of my
title so it would be visible. I also made it italic so it would be
different from the rest of the cover
4. On front of other magazine covers, they have well-known artists to
draw their audience in. On the side of the cover, I add sub-
stories for example ‘Lady GaGa, is she running out of ideas?’ and
‘Rihanna, is she going in the wrong direction?’ I decided to add
these artists because they are in the chart at the moment and
are always in the news so it would appeal to my audience.
For my double page spread, it has come across as a friendly, girly
chat as if between two friends but I think this will appeal to the
readers because it is a laid-back conversation rather than a
interview between two strangers. I added a small paragraph
before the interview to introduce the artist beforehand. I also
added in subtitles for example, ‘I sat and cried. Then I ran into
the pool’ and ‘I’ve Googled myself. Everyone does it!’. I added
these to make the readers to want to read on. I also made the
font to curve around the pictures so it would flow smooth on
the page
