Number Name Brief Description
1 Compliance You must follow your compliance so that you don’t break the law and that
you also don’t include images that are inappropriate to the advert . Also
make sure your marketing communications are legal and truthful.
2 Recognition of
marketing
communications
Make sure your advert is marketable to the user. You must have logos
slogans to sure that you are advertising. It needs to look like an advert more
than anything otherwise its just a waste of time for the person viewing it.
3 Misleading Adverts If you lie about the functions abilities or prices you will receive complaints
about marketing communications that are misleading.
4 Harm and Offence Your advert cannot intentionally offend or upset any particular groups with
disturbing imagery or content which give the impression of pester power or
any unfair pressure.
5 Children Do not promote dangerous behaviour to children and also not pressure
them to buy your product. which gives the impression of pester power or
any unfair pressure.
6 Privacy You must ask for permission before you include people in your advert. If you
are including someone famous in your advert you must ask for and get
written permission.
13 Food, food supplements
and associated health or
nutritional claims
You must not promote bad dietary habits and you must not lie about the
functions or price in your advert. Marketing companies will notice if you lie
about health bennifits.

• Strengths of using this method
• The strengths of using a mind map is that it allows you to easily display your theme
in a creative way so that it looks eye catching .
Weaknesses of using this method
You cannot present any pictures with this method which doesn’t make it easy to
show examples.
Another weakness for using the mind map is that you cant write a lot of detail about
what points you have in your head.

• Yes I think this is one of the best ways to express ideas.

• Strengths of using this method
• The strengths of using a mood board is that it allows you take a lot of ideas
and creativity and produce something.
• Weaknesses of using this method
• The weaknesses of using this method is that nothing is annotated
therefore if you come back to the mood board you might not remember
what particular idea you got from an image.

• I liked using this method because its more eye catching and entertaining
way to display your thoughts and ideas.

• Strengths of using this method
• The strengths of using a style sheet is that you get to see what styles and
themes coca cola has to offer.
• Weaknesses of using this method
• The style sheet is much more detailed compared to a mood board or
spider diagram. Although this can used more as a detailed structural plan.

• I liked using this method because it allows you to make more of a specific
plan.

• Strengths of using this method
• The strengths of using the layout plan is that you can get a clear image of
what you are going to have as a layout/background.
• Weaknesses of using this method
Its hard to know what layout you want for certain from the beginning.

• I liked using this method because it allows you to search freely on the
internet for what ever background you want.
Brainstorm
• Most of the of the coke adverts give off a positive vibe with happy music and happy
people which automatically makes the person watching the advert urged to try coke
themselves.
• Coca cola’s main slogans are ‘open happiness’ and “ it’s the real thing". These slogans
suggest to you that having a bottle of coke and been with your friends leads to a great
time.
• They are one of the biggest brand names in the world and because of this coke has
become universal to everyone.
• The colours used are vibrant and they stand out give the impression of happiness.
Brainstorm
• The strengths of using a brainstorm are it allows you to get
down as many thoughts and ideas in as much detail as
possible.

• Target audience 16 - 19 year olds
• Style – happy /soothing /calm/fun
• Sound effects – can opening or bottle/person gulping
• Theme – friends or family.
• Music – playful/calming
friends on the beach with coke bottles using sound effects of the sea in the background
and seagulls other ambient noises in the background such as people playing on the beach .

The person we spoke to can give us information and feedback and
whether our general idea is suitable or not suitable for your target
audience.
The weaknesses with this method is that you do not have a final
finished advert to display to know whether its suitable or not.
I liked using this method because it gave a chance for someone to look
at our plan from a different eye .

Why?
The strengths of using this method is that multiple people are
thinking of ideas rather than just one person which will
ultimately lead to a better developed idea for our advert.
The weaknesses of using the method is that too many different
opinions can lead to an in decisiveness for the advert.
Overall I liked using this method because you didn’t feel as
pressured to come up with something and you could just write
down any idea that came to mind.

Using this method is a good way of breaking down the
purpose of our advert and what our aim is
Weaknesses of using this method
The weaknesses of using this method are the topics require
a decent amount of detail which therefore makes it harder
to remember the individual purposes

Initial Reaction
• My initial reaction for the game that is similar is Pac man . The game would
function of the game is the consumer (Pac man) eats coke cans (pellets). I have
not used Photoshop to make an animation before I feel I will find it hard at first
to make an animation but will get use to it eventually.

• The weaknesses of using this method is that If you haven’t used
Photoshop animation before then you might not be able to make exactly
what you planned for.

and make it as detailed as you want.

• If you are not very good at drawing then it might not be easy for you to
display your ideas.

• Personally I didn’t like using this method because I am not very good at
drawing so it made me waste a lot of time.

Weaknesses of using this method You cannot present any pictures with this method which doesn’t make it easy to show examples. Another weakness for using the mind map is that you cant write a lot of detail about what points you have in your head. • Did you like using this method? Why? • Yes I think this is one of the best ways to express ideas.

Mood Board • Strengths of using this method • The strengths of using a mood board is that it allows you take a lot of ideas and creativity and produce something. • Weaknesses of using this method • The weaknesses of using this method is that nothing is annotated therefore if you come back to the mood board you might not remember what particular idea you got from an image. • Did you like using this method? Why? • I liked using this method because its more eye catching and entertaining way to display your thoughts and ideas.

Style Sheet • Strengths of using this method • The strengths of using a style sheet is that you get to see what styles and themes coca cola has to offer. • Weaknesses of using this method • The style sheet is much more detailed compared to a mood board or spider diagram. Although this can used more as a detailed structural plan. • Did you like using this method? Why? • I liked using this method because it allows you to make more of a specific plan.

Layout Plan • Strengths of using this method • The strengths of using the layout plan is that you can get a clear image of what you are going to have as a layout/background. • Weaknesses of using this method Its hard to know what layout you want for certain from the beginning. • Did you like using this method? Why? • I liked using this method because it allows you to search freely on the internet for what ever background you want.

Brainstorm • Most of the of the coke adverts give off a positive vibe with happy music and happy people which automatically makes the person watching the advert urged to try coke themselves. • Coca cola’s main slogans are ‘open happiness’ and “ it’s the real thing". These slogans suggest to you that having a bottle of coke and been with your friends leads to a great time. • They are one of the biggest brand names in the world and because of this coke has become universal to everyone. • The colours used are vibrant and they stand out give the impression of happiness.

Why? • Target audience 16 - 19 year olds • Style – happy /soothing /calm/fun • Sound effects – can opening or bottle/person gulping • Theme – friends or family. • Music – playful/calming friends on the beach with coke bottles using sound effects of the sea in the background and seagulls other ambient noises in the background such as people playing on the beach .

The person we spoke to can give us information and feedback and whether our general idea is suitable or not suitable for your target audience. The weaknesses with this method is that you do not have a final finished advert to display to know whether its suitable or not. I liked using this method because it gave a chance for someone to look at our plan from a different eye .

The strengths of using this method is that multiple people are thinking of ideas rather than just one person which will ultimately lead to a better developed idea for our advert. The weaknesses of using the method is that too many different opinions can lead to an in decisiveness for the advert. Overall I liked using this method because you didn’t feel as pressured to come up with something and you could just write down any idea that came to mind.

  • 17. Initial Reaction • My initial reaction for the game that is similar is Pac man . The game would function of the game is the consumer (Pac man) eats coke cans (pellets). I have not used Photoshop to make an animation before I feel I will find it hard at first to make an animation but will get use to it eventually.

Why? • Personally I didn’t like using this method because I am not very good at drawing so it made me waste a lot of time.
