Mind Map
Mind Map
Strengths of using this method
The strengths of using this method are that you can quickly get your points down and have them still be
organised. It’s good as well because you can get a lot of thoughts down and see them all right in front of you to
quickly help you remember your ideas.
Weaknesses of using this method
The weaknesses of using this method are that you cant add images to see exactly what you your inspiration
was. Its also hard to see why you chose the things you did because you cant put much detail into a mind map.
Did you like using this method? Why?
I liked using this method because it aloud me to look back and see exactly what my initial thoughts and ideas
were at the time while still adding to them with new ideas.
Mood Board
I chose these because they
are simple and I want to
keep my poster minimalist.
They also still clearly tell
you what the product is. I
also want to add the while
curves as that is
something that people
associate with Coca-Cola.
I want to use the slogan “share a Coke
with…” because I feel that it can make
the poster personal and influence
younger people (my target market) to
buy coke and have it with there friends
and personalise them. Also using slang
that is up to date and popular with
people between the ages of 16-19 can
encourage them to buy the product as
again it makes it personal to them and
their friends.
I want to add all the
colours to represent all
the different types of
coke and use a silhouette
to continue a minimalist
style.
Mood Board
I chose these images as
inspiration because I
wanted to incorporate the
exploding out of the can
idea but somehow have it
related to 16-19 year olds.
Also having the bottle be a
silhouette helps to keep
the image minimalistic.
I want to add the water drops in
my poster, because when I see it I
think about having it being cold
and refreshing. If 16-19 year olds
are out with there friends and
they see it could help to
encourage then to buy it.
I love the idea of the bubbles
being the caps also flying off
of the bottle and the slogan
open happiness. Its
extremely simple too and
gets to the point quickly.
Mood Board
Strengths of using this method
The strengths of using this method are that you can use images to help put your point across and
also find inspiration. It helps to get ideas from more than just you imagination. This method also
helps you to give more detail as to why you want to do what you do and helps you think more
about what you really want your poster to show and what impression you want it to give off.
Weaknesses of using this method
The weaknesses of using this method are it takes a longer time than mind mapping and makes it
harder to quickly get ideas down. It also can make your ideas all over the place and make it hard
to stick to a certain theme because you find so many different ideas.
Did you like using this method? Why?
I like this method because it gives you tones of great ideas, and it also helps you to see what
other adverts that are advertising the same thing use in their posters. This helps because your
poster will then match the brand.
Style Sheet
This font seemed like It had to be used as it is used
for the logo which is one of the main things within
the poster that will let the customer know what is
being sold. I would use this on the silhouette of the
bottle its self not to write the slogan in.
I wanted a font that was bubbly to go with hopefully
the bubbles I will add to my design. I also want to try
keep the design young and modern and I thought that
this one is clean and smooth and would fit the style of
my poster.
I love this font but I wasn’t sure if it would fit with
the style of my design style I wanted to use.
Hopefully I could incorporate it in some way
because I love the curves in the font and also the
thickness.
I looked at this font because is was the closest to
the coca cola logo yet not exactly. I liked that you
can add just the curved lines separately.
Style Sheet
I want to use red
as the main
colour as it is the
colour of coca
cola and use the
brightest red as
the background.
I will use whiles
and greys for the
writing and
silhouette because
it will stand out
more on the red
background.
I'm going to
have a thin
yellow swish
across with the
white one to
add more colour
to the poster.
I'm going to use
black as mainly
an outline for
some of the
white writing to
make it stand
out more.
