Jewish-German Culture
An often suppressed topic of Jewish German culture is women and how successful Jewish females
have been in the photography industry. In class we discussed the suppression of all Jews as the
persecution of Jewish people became an active Nazi policy in 1933. Because of these hash fascist
policies, many Jews emigrated to nearby countries such as Russia, known then as the USSR. Many
Jewish German museums feature exhibitions that carry the theme of migration. I looked at many of
the websites for Jewish German museums to see the types of exhibits they featured; one which caught
my eye was the Vienna s Shooting Girls: Jewish Women Photographers at the museum in Vienna. This
exhibition was centered on the female photographers in exile and the end of this era for Vienna. It was
a featured exhibition from October 23rd 2012 to March 3rd 2013. Photography was an essential part
of Jewish German culture as it demonstrates a time in which women were celebrated. Secondly, the
featured artists of the exhibition were important influencers of life in the 1930 s when photography
had completely replaced drawings in magazines. Finally, it is a memory site of Jewish German ...

The curators of the exhibition Vienna s Shooting Girls: Jewish Women Photographers were Iris Meder
and Andrea Winklbaeuer. These independent further promoted the feminist notion of successful
women and equity in the workforce and skilled trades. Their technique in presenting the photographs
was not radical; however some of the material they chose to present was risqué. Meder and
Winklbaeuer captured the individuality of the photographers with the selected pieces and chose works
with natural positions in contrast to stiff, old fashioned poses that museum goers were acclined to
seeing on the walls. This revival of female empowerment in German culture stands as a memory

Ethos, Logos, Pathos, And Malcolm X

Ethos, Logos, Pathos, and Malcolm X
Aristotle contends that persuasive speech is composed of three elements: ethos, logos, and pathos. In
debate, we use these to construct our arguments. The first principle, ethos, can be expressed as a
claim. The claim is the core of the argument; everything else goes to support it. I will commence this
essay with the following claim:
Malcolm X is not his own man. He is merely a mirror, an empty shell with a loud voice who echoes
time and again the views of his mentors. This is why his beliefs change so often throughout his life:
when his father, Shorty, and Elijah Muhammad respectively take him under their wings, they wipe the

When he tells his teacher he might want to be a lawyer, he is rebuked with racism: A lawyer that s no
realistic goal for a n****r. (38) He sees then that his work to become the top student and class
president has all been for naught. It doesn t matter how hard he tries: They didn t give me credit for
having the same sensitivity, intellect, and understanding that they would have been ready and willing
to recognize in a white boy in my position. (28) This realization breaks something in him: when he
realizes that whites will never deign to accept him into their society, he loses trust in what his father
stood for. You re acting so strange, his classmates and coworkers tell him.(37) Malcolm changes; he
rejects all outer stimuli and retreats deeper into himself, hopeless without a paragon of success to
emulate. You don t seem like yourself, Malcolm. What s that matter? (37) In losing his role model,
Malcolm has become a wanderer without a path to follow.
Adrift within a sea of his own thoughts, Malcolm moves to Boston. Suddenly, his world is devoid of
white schoolteachers or people of color who believe their inferiority. He is surrounded by the lights
and sounds of the lindy hopping world of black Americans, for once proud of [their] very dark skin.
This was unheard of among Negroes in those days. (34) But still he is lost; without a mentor to mirror

Likert’S 4 System Approach Was Published In 1961, And Likert
Likert s 4 System Approach was published in 1961, and Likert argues for what he considers is a
generalized theory of organization (Mumby 100). Likert sums it up that all organizations can be
summarized into one of four systems. Each of these systems reflect a certain leadership style reflected
in an organization and they also consist of 7 dimensions. The seven dimensions are as follows;
employee motivation, the characterization of the communication process, the interaction influence
process, decision making process, the type of goal setting, the control processes and its performance
characteristics.
Likerts 4 System Approach consists of the Exploitive authoritative approach, Benevolent authoritative,

On the Plante Moran website they ve posted their client satisfaction rates that supports our claim.
Plante Moran used an independent firm to conduct a survey to the clients that they serve and positive
feedback was received. Between 95 99% of their clients agreed that they would recommend Plante
Moran to other people and companies, they across the board agreed that the staff at Plante Moran are
trustworthy, courteous and professional. The staff is responsive and takes the time to build
relationships with clients. The staff at Plante Moran are industry experts and they demonstrate
technical expertise and delivers on their promises. Bottom line, Plante Moran meets all the needs of
their clients.
Throughout their customer focused ideology, and being a participative system approach Plante Moran
has succeeded and strengthened their company wholly. They hold a 13% turnover rate when the
industry standard is 15%, and the communication processes within Plante Moran keeps projects on
track and promotes a healthy relationship with the staff and clients equating to higher productivity
organizationally wide. According to Mumby, Likert advocated specifically for the participative
approach because it most effectively taps into human resources and is the most productive
organizational system (Mumby 101)

Supervisor Case Studies
 Concerns that were brought to my attention: o Diane the perception in your office is that you are too
the friendly with staff. This perceived friendship also gives the perception that workers come to you to
find out what was said in our MTM/conference calls with APCS and/or to gossip about other APCW
or APCS.  If this is the case I advise you to redirect staff that are not under your supervision to their
supervisor for any questions that they may have, especially if their supervisor is in the office.  If
their supervisor is not in the office, I advise you to triage the situation to see if it is something that can
wait until their supervisor returns or if needs to be handled immediately. If it is something that needs

Riyaz could not take any action against his technical manager who had helped Ali, because he could

Sri Lankan Agent Dhillon, a trader from Sri Lanka, met Riyaz at Pack Tech s stand at a packaging
exhibition in Dubai in 2001. Dhillon showed interest in promoting Pack Tech s products in the Sri
Lankan market. Since the Sri Lankan market was new to Riyaz, he agreed to cooperate with Dhillon
and offered the best price and direct service to his customers without any credit facility. Until 2003,
Dhillon bought an average of US$20,000 worth of material every month through letters of credit (L/C)
and sold it in the Sri Lankan market.
In 2008, the business grew further, reaching an average of US$100,000 per month, and there were few
incidents of payment delays on Dhillon s part. As a result, the total outstanding was US$250,000,

A Girl By Jamaica Kincaid And Judith Ortiz Cofer
In both of the Short stories i ve read by Jamaica Kincaid and Judith Ortiz Cofer the author uses a
young girl, both of those females were given a series of instructions on how they should live their life,
in my opinion both characters in the story were being stereotyped on how a girl should live. In the
story Girl by Kincaid she illustrates a Caribbean Mother giving advice to her young daughter, in the
story she describes to her the manner on how to act like a Female, how to do household work and
cook correctly. The mother actions intends to help her daughter, After reading the story by Jamaica
Kincaid I believe that that the mother feels her daughter needs to act more like a female and not the
slut she plans on becoming. The author uses a chastising tone which was illustrated throughout the
whole story when she scolds her daughter. In The myth of the Latin woman: I just met a girl named
Maria by Judith Ortiz Cofer, She primarily talks about stereotyping and how the American culture was
different from her home country Puerto Rico , the narrator also expresses how she lived as a girl
growing up. Jamaica Kincaid is an Antiguan American novelist, essayist, gardener, and gardening
writer. The mother in the story Girl gives helpful advice this advice will help her daughter be a better
woman in her present and future life. She explains to her daughter the ways she should keep a house
clean by doing chores such as washing clothes , sewing buttons and hemming dresses,

Similarities and Differences Between Polly and Jessie...
Polly and Jessie Wilson both have many similarities and differences in the book The Secret Lives of
Sgt. John Wilson. First, both of these characters stay dedicated to John Wilson throughout the entire
story, trusting he is always doing the right thing. Second, neither Polly nor Jessie suspect John is doing
anything wrong. Third, Polly and Jessie are both married at a young age, which doesn t give them time
to experience life before dedicating themselves to this man. Fourth, both believe every word of Johns,
without question or second thoughts. In terms of differences, Polly displays forgiveness, while Jessie
displays independence. Polly and Jessie are both very similar people with regards to their naivety,
innocence, and dedication, but quite different in terms of forgiveness and independence. In this
creative non fiction, Polly and Jessie are both depicted as very naïve people. These two women
believe everything that John tells them. When Jessie sister Mary writes letters to Jessie talking about
how she is dying and is extremely happy for Jessie and John, the book even tells the reader The
upright and honorable John Wilson wrote both these letters himself (Simmie 42). This also applies to
the letter from F.M Maxwell, talking about Mary and her passing. Jessie does not bother wondering
why these letters are typed instead of handwritten, proving she believes everything. This leads to the
second similarity, Polly and Jessie believe every lie from John. This is not to say

Grand Junction, Colorado is a town in Western Colorado that has taken steps to excel in the health
care field by providing cost effective and efficient care to their community. In lecture this week, we
have learned that the key system concepts are: shared vision, shared reality, people, parts,
interrelationships, leverage, adaptability and iterative learning.1 The article: Grand Junction,
Colorado: A Health Community That Works, is an example of a patient centered medical home that
currently exists in the United States, and should be looked at as a possible solution to our current
health care overspending crisis. I believe that the health care provided in Grand Junction, Colorado
has excelled in all these concepts and will discuss their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Shared Reality: Not only did the medical community share a vision, they also shared data through the
Quality Health Network (QHN)2. They developed an IT system that is still in the infancy stages in the
rest of the United States where data is shared between various providers. There is a common network
that providers are able to log into and see other providers notes and care plans. This sharing of
information has decreased the performance of duplicate tests/procedures and has decreased the costs
and increased the quality of care that patients in the Grand Junction community receive. The
information in the shared data system was also used to promote transparency of data on physician
performance to formulate a health care model that focused on the patient and through peer pressure,
caused the providers to strive for better outcomes. People: We have learned that the United States is
lacking providers in the primary care field but Grand Junction actually has an increased number of
PCPs in their community, and this has allowed them to manage their patient s care more in depth.2
Having the social service groups to assist with necessary patient follow up and home care has also
worked favorably for them. In addition, they have highly motivated individuals that are seeking to
make a change in the way that health care is delivered. This is the most important aspect of the whole
system, because without these vital players, the system would

Cause Of Childhood Obesity
Introduction The Surgeon General s Office, First Lady Obama, and many other prominent officials
have called to action campaigns to address obesity as public health issue which leads to many other
chronic care issues. Childhood obesity has reached epidemic levels in developed countries. Twenty
five percent of children in the US are overweight and 11% are obese. Overweight and obesity in
childhood are known to have significant impact on both physical and psychological health. The
mechanism of obesity development is not fully understood and it is believed to be a disorder with
multiple causes. Environmental factors, lifestyle preferences, and cultural environment play pivotal
roles in the rising prevalence of obesity worldwide. Childhood obesity now affects 1 in 6 children and
adolescents in the United States (CDC, 2015). In 2011 2012, (Ogen, Caroll, Kit, Flegal, ... Show more

How Did The Scottsboro Trial Impact America
The Scottsboro trial impacted America as a whole. The nine men being convicted of rape did not have
a fair trial. During the 1930s, America was in a time of very serious segregation. If a black man
supposedly slept with a Southern white women they would be lynched. A specific example of this
would be when the Scottsboro boys were going to jail, a crowd of over 100 people tried to lynch them
(Douglas O. Linder). In the time period, America had many race riots, so this incident would not be
surprising. The Black men were trailed in separate cases (Linder). They were found guilty, an obvious
verdict because of their ethnicity. The southerners believed that Blacks were criminals and should be
sentenced to death if they were accused of committing

Elements of Interreligious Dialogue in The Waste Land
The House Of His Protection The Land Gave To Him That Sought Her Out And Unto Him That

Engraved above the Western most door of Joslyn Art Museum
Beyond all doubt, T. S. Eliot s The Waste Land is one of the most excruciating works a reader may
ever attempt. The reading is painful to the point of exhaustion for the poetry lover as he scrutinizes the
poem pericope by pericope. However, all this suffering (self inflicted or otherwise) suggests that the
author has likewise labored over the poem, emptying himself into his work pericope by pericope.
Suddenly, the reader understands that the poet intends to deliver a specific message, luring ... Show

Furthermore, I intend to demonstrate that the poet understands this truth to be explicit in nature, and
thus these religions derive their common truth from it.
To begin with, the religious symbols and imagery that Eliot depicts ought to be observed. Religious
language is so prevalent in the poem that the reader can hardly escape it; however, there are specific
allusions to Hinduism, Buddhism, and Christianity which are intended to catch the reader s attention,
and those are the images this essay is concerned with, found as I have mentioned in meditations III
and V. The title of the third meditation is The Fire Sermon ; Buddhists will recognize this title from a
sermon given by Buddha himself; Eliot notes for his Christian readers that it measures in importance
as Jesus Sermon on the Mount. In this sermon, Buddha describes everything as being on fire, and he
explains everything as the eye and all it sees, the ear and all it hears, the nose and all it smells, the
tongue and all it tastes, the body and all it feels, and the mind including all of which it is conscious;
and whatever sensation, pleasant, unpleasant, or indifferent, originates in dependence on impressions
received by [these organs], that also is on fire (Warren, 352). Buddha says that this fire which
seemingly devours everything is passion. So, the Buddhist develops an aversion for these organs and
all their functions; this done successfully, he

This street and many of the adjoining side streets conjured up images of a quaint New England town

The Importance Of Sharing An Underused Asset
So you ve accepted the fact that your car is dangerously depreciating in value every second it s parked
in the driveway but, you still have questions.
We realised since launching our business early this year that concept of sharing an underused asset is
new to many people!
Sure, sharing goods between family members and close friends has always been common practice.
But how exactly did the idea of sharing and earning some extra cash from an existing asset become so
easily accessible for everyone?
Advancement in technology and the rise of digital technology have led to laborious tasks becoming
automated. For anyone that s experienced the turmoil of unexpected item in bagging area during the
weekly grocery shop, the changes not always a welcome edition to daily life. One positive result is the
increased access to free information, meaning that consumers are much more informed and rely less
on traditional marketplaces and in some cases can choose to deviate from them altogether. The cost to
produce goods has gone down, and with many goods and services almost free this has led to a boost in
efficiency and individuals starting to networking with each other.
While most people aren t against the idea of the earning some extra cash by lending someone
something they already own, they don t want the hassle of taking care of all the little details or damage
to their property and that s where companies like us step in! In our case, our online platform enables

The Most Popular Destination Of The Jewish People s...
Masada derives from the Hebrew word mezuda, meaning fortress or stronghold. Currently, it
represents one of the Jewish people s greatest symbols of intransigence. In the name of tradition, some
inductees to the Israeli Defense Forces take their oath of loyalty to the Jewish state on top or at the
Western Wall of Masada, as remnant of the sacred Temple in Jerusalem; The oath ends with Masada
shall not fall again. 1 Next to Jerusalem, it is the most popular destination of tourists visiting Israel
today. The fortification was built by Herod the Great, King of Judaea, who reigned between 37 BCE
and 4 CE as a palace complex for himself. The overall product of Masada was an engineering
achievement with it s architecture and structure, making it habitable in time of emergency. The
geography also provided a natural defense for Masada, which helped Jewish sustenance during their
last form of resistance against the Romans. Evidence of a siege occurring in this ancient plateau
thousands of years ago are primarily sourced by the reminiscence found by archaeologists, as well as
first century Jewish Roman historian Josephus. To further understand the history of Masada, prior
experiences of society at the time shall be considered; the Jewish society has been condemned and
conquered throughout history, as well the Romans height of imperializing and conquering being

education to focus on academics. This point in our society school is the only focus we need kids to be

Mechanical Properties And Thermal Analysis
Composite structure is a combination of two or more different items that may be distinguished
physically, resulting in a final product that has a better performance from each component individually
done. It consists of matrix composite materials (polymer, metal or ceramic) and one or more stages of
reinforcement (fibers, particles, flakes, or fillers). The combination of the different elements
appropriately to achieve a system with structural or functional characteristics of the best that can be
achieved through one of the components alone. The vehicle has become an essential part of the day
because of the material advantages such as low weight, high corrosion resistance, high strength and
fatigue, and faster assembly. Used widely as raw materials in the airframe industry, packaging,
electronics, medical equipment and spacecraft building materials home [1].
The increased use of composite materials for various applications underlines its importance /
significance in mechanical properties and thermal analysis of an engineering system. The thermal
conductivity of a composite material (combination of two or more components) can be measured by
experimental methods. Analytical equations are essential to predict the thermal conductivity of a
composite material. The main advantage of using filler material in composites is to reduce the overall
cost of the composite. Besides reducing costs, filling materials are also used as a main ingredient,
which improves the performance of the

created humans first because humans are the lowest type. Then the Master created robots to be

The Power Of Solar Energy
Power Use
Solar power or what is commonly referred to as solar energy is the energy from the sun that is
converted into thermal or electrical energy. This form of energy is the cleanest and most abundant
since it is almost everywhere in the world. It is also renewable and hence through modern
technological advancement it be harnessed into a wide range of uses such as electricity generation,
lighting or indoor use, water heating, machine driving and other commercial as well as industrial
applications. There are many more other benefits that come along with solar energy use apart from
just the application, such as the environmental friendliness, cheapness in terms of production and use,
and the value it adds on a business or a home.
The U.S, just like any other industrialized country in the world, has been facing major power
shortages due to the increased electricity demands for both industrial and home use. As the number of
industries and companies increases in the country, electricity demand also increases. This implies that
energy sources have to also increase. Most of the electricity is produced through the use of steam
turbines powered by fossil fuels such as coal or petroleum and water in boilers, about one fifth of the
energy is produced from nuclear power and the rest (only 13%) comes from renewable energy sources
for example hydropower, wind power, biomass, solar power, and geothermal power (Fahrenbruch, et
al., 54)
The country needs to invest more in renewable energy

What Makes Antonio Gaudi Innovator
That s what makes Antonio Gaudí an innovator of the time. That s what makes him different from his
contemporanean and the rest of architects, that he sees architecture as a game of imagination and
creation, while the others stack to the classical idea of architecture, to the lineal shapes and the
perfection of the simple. His radical conception of architecture still fascinates us nowadays, and we
still admire his whole work. Gaudí was a pioneer, too modern for his time, innovator on work
processes, and creator of new architectonic shapes. A creator inventor innovator that made an
inimitable style, and that gifted us with a legacy applicable nowadays to multiple disciplines, from
ergonomic design to empresarial management. Antonio Gaudí is, under Santiago Calatrava s point of
view, an example of architectonical innovation just by mixing a singular talent with a solid technical

What Dreams Are
Dreams, we all have them at one time or another, and in one form or another. They can be daydreams,
when we re awake, wishing and hoping for something more (bigger and better) than we already have,
or the way we hope things should and would be. Next there is the wish, this is when there is a strong
desire for a specific thing, a longing for one particular thing. Then there is the nightmare. They are the
dreams that are very disturbing, full of fear and horror. They are often a very scary event played out
while one is asleep, although we do not know we are asleep. Dreams are a sequence of images etc.

Fascism in the Twentieth Century
Fascism in the Twentieth Century; Hitler and Nazism
Fascism is one of the most controversial political terms in modern history. The lack of a universally
accepted definition for the term has meant that it can and has been applied to a wide variety of
political contexts. Fascism developed from the destruction caused by the First World War. Its origins
can be traced, however, to the intellectual revolt against liberalism in Europe at the end of the
nineteenth century. While there was a revolutionary reaction against the ideals of the French
Revolution before 1914, it was the First World War which acted as a real catalyst for the emergence of
fascism. The war swept away the Hohenzellern, Halsburg and Romanov dynasties in Germany, ...

Although it was a complex procedure, Hitler proved himself to be both a skilled political manipulator
and an original military strategist. But above all, Hitler was a rabid ideologist. As a result of his
actions, the Hitler state destroyed the legacy of imperial and Weinmar Germany and undermined the
humane values of German culture.
Unlike in Italy, the rise of fascism in Germany occurred in one of the world s most advanced
economies, for the German modernisation and industrialisation process during the nineteenth century
had helped to create a powerful state. Political extremism in Germany developed further from the
failure of the state and society to manage the complex problems arising from the country s sudden
defeat at the end of the First World War in 1918.
Although the First World War created the necessary conditions to enable the rise of Nazism,
Nazi ideology was derived from the intellectual and political underworld of pre 1914 Germany. Before
1914, this far right ideology which was heavily focused on anti Semitism, remained on the political
fringe and had little influence on domestic policies. Hitler himself, for example, although later greatly
influenced by the Austrian anti Semitism of Karl Leuger (1844 1910), was a failed art student and
architect whose personal apathy prevented him from enjoying the bourgeois (upper class) lifestyle that
he craved. He, like other failures in the German and Austro Hungarian empires, found in anti

Price dispersion, competition, and the role of online travel agents: Evidence from business routes in
the Italian airline market
In this study they use research to further understand what s driving price dispersion? They investigate
very distinct factors between online travel agents and airlines direct channels influence price
dispersion. Airline markets are characterized by the existence of substantial price dispersion, to be
intended as a measure of price variations in the market. Indeed, it is not unusual to see travelers on the
same flight paying very different prices for the very same seats. This is due to the fact that airlines are
able to distinguish among different types of customers and practice price discrimination, with the help
of mechanisms such as advance selling, loyalty programs, nonrefundable tickets, etc. In addition,
airline companies typically face uncertain demand with a fixed inventory consisting of very perishable
products. Accordingly, they utilize revenue management systems to maximize revenues by
dynamically adjusting prices for their seats based on whether the current booking is above or below
expected values. The study of price dispersion in the airline industry can provide numerous important
implications for firms, consumers and authorities in terms of firms pricing power, price
discrimination, product differentiation, and reduction of search costs. For this reason, many
researchers have devoted themselves to the study of price dispersion in

Electroencephalography Essay
Electroencephalography is a form of measuring electrical activity in the brain using electrodes that are
attached to the scalp. EEGs are interpreted by looking at amplitude, frequency, and shape of the waves
that are formed. The significance of the results relies on patient specific information such as age, state
of the patient, and the location of the electrodes on the scalp. Different areas of the brain can produce
different wave patterns. There are four types of wave forms: alpha, beta, theta, and delta. Frequency is
key in determining normal and abnormal EEGs, with normal frequencies ranging between 0.5 500
Hertz. Each wave type has its own range of normal frequencies, because each wave has its own set
characteristics.
Alpha waves are present in all age groups, but most commonly adults. They occur on both sides of the
head, usually having a higher amplitude on the nondominant side. Alpha waves tend to be more
posteriorly located and are associated with relaxation. Alpha waves are not present when a person is
stressed, their eyes are open, or they are at attention. An abnormal alpha wave is known as an alpha
coma, where the alpha waves are seen in both anterior and posterior parts of the head usually
indicative of a person who is unresponsive to stimuli. Beta waves are also observed in all age groups,

Ancient Greek Rituals And War

Ancient Greek Rituals and War
Rough Draft
Ares and Athena, the god and goddess of war, were influential religious figures for the Ancient Greek
military. They were especially important during rituals and ceremonies prior to soldiers going to war.
They are important in the warriors or soldiers lives because of what role they play in battle and in
rituals. Athena and Ares weren t as important to the soldiers as you would think, but in some places of
battle they were very significant.
Ancient Greek Military
War and Rituals The soldiers that participated in the Greek military were always nervous before they
went into battle, but there weren t many rituals to the god and goddess of war. You would think that
they would be bombarded with all these prayers and wishes, but the men didn t pray to them as much
as would have thought. On the other hand there were of course some rituals performed by newcomers
or new additions to the military. These men performed raging rituals to help them in battle.
Only men were allowed to be apart of the Greek military because the women and girls didn t have the
ability to handle the certain training and the battle. So because of this the women and girls stayed
home and prayed very strongly to Athena and Ares to keep their men safe and healthy during battle.
The women also prayed for them to return home in good condition and if not in good condition then at
least they would come home.
The men wanted to be victorious and

Why Was J. Edgar Hoover Played A Role In The Assassination...

suspicious activities from the FBI were uncovered. I will argue that King was wrongfully watched by
the FBI, J. Edgar had a personal vendetta against him, and ultimately, he played a role in the
assassination of King.
First, why was King under surveillance by J. Edgar Hoover and the FBI? The Federal Bureau claims

It would be all too easy to believe but it is possible that a more sinister plot was formed. I think a
reasonable theory for why James Earl Ray was able to shoot King and escape from the law for two
months is because they let him. I believe that the FBI had evidence that King was being watched and
that an assassination attempt would be made that day. Hoover did not legally report this information

Ray a perfect time slot to assassinate King and benefit Hoover by eliminating one of his biggest

to the persons subjected to such experiments. Second, according to Hoff, Gregorich, Grinstead (2008),
limitations were generalized only to women attending family clinics. Because of use of clinics in the
trial study, an oversample might have occurred with regard to those whose interests were in female
initiated barrier needs. Third, the accuracy of data might have been compromised by reliance on self
reports (pg. 7). This study of limitations showed that women who used or did not use condoms may or
may not have increased safe sex practices with men. Third, experimental design limitation described
by VanWormer, Martinez, Benson, Crain found that generalization of countries may appear to have
differences in sampling approaches. Next, external validity might affect the internal validity of the

Ohio Government Benefits
Ohio has so much potential. Property is cheap, taxes are cheap, the colleges are cheaper than most, but
people are fleeing the state at alarming rates. There is only one reason that comes to mind for this. The

profitable if it was legal for recreational use also. Not to mention, the people who do marijuana would
stop being thrown in jail. Which is my main beef with it. The federal government paints marijuana as
this terrible drug, Compared to those who don t use marijuana, those who frequently use large
amounts report the following: lower life satisfaction, poorer mental health, poorer physical health,

marijuana use is linked to a higher likelihood of dropping out of school. It s also linked to more job
absences, accidents, and injuries (National Institute of Drug Abuse). Look, I really don t care how
high people get off of marijuana, they can smoke until they don t know their own name. It makes me

crime and corruption flourishes through illegal distribution of alcohol, or also known as bootlegging.
A major player during this chaotic period, gang boss Al Capone, has the entire city, including law

Despite the hopelessness, there are some who are aware of the city s criminal status and want to bring

Koyaanisqatsi Life Out Of Balance Analysis
In the 1982 film by Godfrey Reggio, Ron Fricke and Philip Glass, Koyaanisqatsi: Life out of Balance,
the filmmakers use imagery and music rather than dialogue to convey emotion, time and meaning. The
images in the film is primarily time lapse and slow motion footage of natural landscapes in the United
States, cities and human machinery/development. It requires skill and experience to create a film with
no dialogue that can effectively convey a message. Without words it would also be challenging
creating climax and convey time. The filmmakers of Koyaanisqatsi creatively used contrast in images
to display time passing and to build or lesson the drama to transition to the next scene. In photography
and filmmaking contrast refers to the difference in tones from the lightest tone to the darkest tone.
Throughout the film there are many aerial shots of canyons especially in chapter two, Organic. The
first canyon image in the movie is an aerial shot of what looks like the Grand Canyon. There is uneven
rock formation rows in front of each other. The sunlight is coming from behind the camera, creating
deep shadows on the front of the first valley and it creates deep shadows on the valley behind it. This
shot moves very slowly across this area and then cuts to several close up shots of parts of the canyon,
these images are low contrast they are mostly orange without distinct harsh shadows. After the
closeups, there are more aerial shots of the canyon. With each shot the valleys get shallower and the
contrast lowers. The shadows are less distinct as the land flattens, the land also has more and greener
as it gets flatter, one of the last canyon shot we see before the transition to the next chapter shows the
sun rising over completely flat desert like land in the area. For this chapter the filmmakers used
regression of contrast to create transition from one scene to the next. The flattening in land with the
lowering in contrast also shows time and how what used to be vibrant, with harsh and distinct lines
and shadows can fade and erode into flat land with no depth and no contrast. The next chapter is
named clouds, they use water to transition from dry harsh land to the flowing clouds in the sky. The

In class we discussed the suppression of all Jews as the persecution of Jewish people became an active Nazi policy in 1933. Because of these hash fascist policies, many Jews emigrated to nearby countries such as Russia, known then as the USSR. Many Jewish German museums feature exhibitions that carry the theme of migration. I looked at many of the websites for Jewish German museums to see the types of exhibits they featured; one which caught my eye was the Vienna s Shooting Girls: Jewish Women Photographers at the museum in Vienna. Finally, it is a memory site of Jewish German ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Meder and Winklbaeuer captured the individuality of the photographers with the selected pieces and chose works with natural positions in contrast to stiff, old fashioned poses that museum goers were acclined to seeing on the walls. This revival of female empowerment in German culture stands as a memory ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Ethos, Logos, Pathos, And Malcolm X Declan Gunn Professor Cho Literature of the Americas October 13th, 2017 Ethos, Logos, Pathos, and Malcolm X Aristotle contends that persuasive speech is composed of three elements: ethos, logos, and pathos. In debate, we use these to construct our arguments. The first principle, ethos, can be expressed as a claim. The claim is the core of the argument; everything else goes to support it. I will commence this essay with the following claim: Malcolm X is not his own man. He is merely a mirror, an empty shell with a loud voice who echoes time and again the views of his mentors. This is why his beliefs change so often throughout his life: when his father, Shorty, and Elijah Muhammad respectively take him under their wings, they wipe the ... The title of the third meditation is The Fire Sermon ; Buddhists will recognize this title from a sermon given by Buddha himself; Eliot notes for his Christian readers that it measures in importance as Jesus Sermon on the Mount. In this sermon, Buddha describes everything as being on fire, and he explains everything as the eye and all it sees, the ear and all it hears, the nose and all it smells, the tongue and all it tastes, the body and all it feels, and the mind including all of which it is conscious; and whatever sensation, pleasant, unpleasant, or indifferent, originates in dependence on impressions received by [these organs], that also is on fire (Warren, 352). This form of energy is the cleanest and most abundant since it is almost everywhere in the world. It is also renewable and hence through modern technological advancement it be harnessed into a wide range of uses such as electricity generation, lighting or indoor use, water heating, machine driving and other commercial as well as industrial applications. There are many more other benefits that come along with solar energy use apart from just the application, such as the environmental friendliness, cheapness in terms of production and use, and the value it adds on a business or a home. The U.S, just like any other industrialized country in the world, has been facing major power shortages due to the increased electricity demands for both industrial and home use. As the number of industries and companies increases in the country, electricity demand also increases. This implies that energy sources have to also increase. Most of the electricity is produced through the use of steam turbines powered by fossil fuels such as coal or petroleum and water in boilers, about one fifth of the energy is produced from nuclear power and the rest (only 13%) comes from renewable energy sources for example hydropower, wind power, biomass, solar power, and geothermal power (Fahrenbruch, et al., 54) The country needs to invest more in renewable energy ... That s what makes him different from his contemporanean and the rest of architects, that he sees architecture as a game of imagination and creation, while the others stack to the classical idea of architecture, to the lineal shapes and the perfection of the simple. His radical conception of architecture still fascinates us nowadays, and we still admire his whole work. Gaudí was a pioneer, too modern for his time, innovator on work processes, and creator of new architectonic shapes. A creator inventor innovator that made an inimitable style, and that gifted us with a legacy applicable nowadays to multiple disciplines, from ergonomic design to empresarial management. Antonio Gaudí is, under Santiago Calatrava s point of view, an example of architectonical innovation just by mixing a singular talent with a solid technical formation. They can be daydreams, when we re awake, wishing and hoping for something more (bigger and better) than we already have, or the way we hope things should and would be. Next there is the wish, this is when there is a strong desire for a specific thing, a longing for one particular thing. Then there is the nightmare. They are the dreams that are very disturbing, full of fear and horror. They are often a very scary event played out while one is asleep, although we do not know we are asleep. The lack of a universally accepted definition for the term has meant that it can and has been applied to a wide variety of political contexts. Fascism developed from the destruction caused by the First World War. Its origins can be traced, however, to the intellectual revolt against liberalism in Europe at the end of the nineteenth century. While there was a revolutionary reaction against the ideals of the French Revolution before 1914, it was the First World War which acted as a real catalyst for the emergence of fascism. Although it was a complex procedure, Hitler proved himself to be both a skilled political manipulator and an original military strategist. But above all, Hitler was a rabid ideologist. As a result of his actions, the Hitler state destroyed the legacy of imperial and Weinmar Germany and undermined the humane values of German culture. Unlike in Italy, the rise of fascism in Germany occurred in one of the world s most advanced economies, for the German modernisation and industrialisation process during the nineteenth century had helped to create a powerful state. Political extremism in Germany developed further from the failure of the state and society to manage the complex problems arising from the country s sudden defeat at the end of the First World War in 1918. Although the First World War created the necessary conditions to enable the rise of Nazism, Nazi ideology was derived from the intellectual and political underworld of pre 1914 Germany. Before 1914, this far right ideology which was heavily focused on anti Semitism, remained on the political fringe and had little influence on domestic policies. Hitler himself, for example, although later greatly influenced by the Austrian anti Semitism of Karl Leuger (1844 1910), was a failed art student and architect whose personal apathy prevented him from enjoying the bourgeois (upper class) lifestyle that he craved. Price dispersion, competition, and the role of online travel agents: Evidence from business routes in the Italian airline market In this study they use research to further understand what s driving price dispersion? They investigate very distinct factors between online travel agents and airlines direct channels influence price dispersion. Airline markets are characterized by the existence of substantial price dispersion, to be intended as a measure of price variations in the market. Indeed, it is not unusual to see travelers on the same flight paying very different prices for the very same seats. This is due to the fact that airlines are able to distinguish among different types of customers and practice price discrimination, with the help of mechanisms such as advance selling, loyalty programs, nonrefundable tickets, etc. In addition, airline companies typically face uncertain demand with a fixed inventory consisting of very perishable products. Accordingly, they utilize revenue management systems to maximize revenues by dynamically adjusting prices for their seats based on whether the current booking is above or below expected values. The study of price dispersion in the airline industry can provide numerous important implications for firms, consumers and authorities in terms of firms pricing power, price discrimination, product differentiation, and reduction of search costs. • 31. Electroencephalography Essay Electroencephalography is a form of measuring electrical activity in the brain using electrodes that are attached to the scalp. EEGs are interpreted by looking at amplitude, frequency, and shape of the waves that are formed. The significance of the results relies on patient specific information such as age, state of the patient, and the location of the electrodes on the scalp. Different areas of the brain can produce different wave patterns. There are four types of wave forms: alpha, beta, theta, and delta. Frequency is key in determining normal and abnormal EEGs, with normal frequencies ranging between 0.5 500 Hertz. Each wave type has its own range of normal frequencies, because each wave has its own set characteristics. Alpha waves are present in all age groups, but most commonly adults. They occur on both sides of the head, usually having a higher amplitude on the nondominant side. Alpha waves tend to be more posteriorly located and are associated with relaxation. Alpha waves are not present when a person is stressed, their eyes are open, or they are at attention. An abnormal alpha wave is known as an alpha coma, where the alpha waves are seen in both anterior and posterior parts of the head usually indicative of a person who is unresponsive to stimuli. Koyaanisqatsi Life Out Of Balance Analysis In the 1982 film by Godfrey Reggio, Ron Fricke and Philip Glass, Koyaanisqatsi: Life out of Balance, the filmmakers use imagery and music rather than dialogue to convey emotion, time and meaning. The images in the film is primarily time lapse and slow motion footage of natural landscapes in the United States, cities and human machinery/development. It requires skill and experience to create a film with no dialogue that can effectively convey a message. Without words it would also be challenging creating climax and convey time. The filmmakers of Koyaanisqatsi creatively used contrast in images to display time passing and to build or lesson the drama to transition to the next scene. In photography and filmmaking contrast refers to the difference in tones from the lightest tone to the darkest tone. Throughout the film there are many aerial shots of canyons especially in chapter two, Organic. The first canyon image in the movie is an aerial shot of what looks like the Grand Canyon. There is uneven rock formation rows in front of each other. The sunlight is coming from behind the camera, creating deep shadows on the front of the first valley and it creates deep shadows on the valley behind it. This shot moves very slowly across this area and then cuts to several close up shots of parts of the canyon, these images are low contrast they are mostly orange without distinct harsh shadows. After the closeups, there are more aerial shots of the canyon. With each shot the valleys get shallower and the contrast lowers. The shadows are less distinct as the land flattens, the land also has more and greener as it gets flatter, one of the last canyon shot we see before the transition to the next chapter shows the sun rising over completely flat desert like land in the area. For this chapter the filmmakers used regression of contrast to create transition from one scene to the next. The flattening in land with the lowering in contrast also shows time and how what used to be vibrant, with harsh and distinct lines and shadows can fade and erode into flat land with no depth and no contrast. The next chapter is named clouds, they use water to transition from dry harsh land to the flowing clouds in the sky. The film shows rushing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
