For one to convey the explicit and implicit main ideas in one s story, one must employ a multitude of
rhetorical strategies. In Poe s The cask of Amontillado , a horror story in which a man sets out to kill
his friend during a festival, his use of rhetoric allowed him to strike a sense of fear and anticipation
into the audience. However, the main purpose of the rhetoric Poe used is in order to convey the
explicit main idea of revenge and the implicit main idea of the price for foolishness. The explicit main
idea of revenge in The Cask of Amontillado is conveyed to the reader through sundry rhetorical
strategies. For example Montresor, the malefactor of his friend s murder, states that, THE thousand
injuries of Fortunato I had borne as I best could, but when he ventured upon insult I vowed revenge.
From this, it is clearly seen the main idea is revenge. Furthermore, he tells the reader that in order for
his revenge to be satisfactory he must, not only punish but punish with impunity. (Poe 1) In other
words, he must seek revenge in such a manner that Fortunato will not know about him attempting to
gain his vengeance until the last moment.
On the other hand, the implicit main ideas of foolishness and violence are stated much more discreetly

What Is Eliza Au s Abstract Art
Eliza Au creates abstract works of art which are contrary to what is usually perceived as abstract art.
Her work is organized and symmetrical, while most abstract seems like a mess. Ceramics is her
material of choice as she did obtain a degree from New York State College of Ceramic at Alfred
university. Recently her work has been displayed at the Old Main art gallery at Northern Arizona
University in Flagstaff, Arizona. There, about twenty or so pieces are displayed on the walls and
ground. Each piece is a different size, the smallest piece is about the size of a bowl while the largest
spans the size of a whole wall. Overall the colors are muted and there are many circular shapes, swirls,
and curving lines. While many of the pieces were created years apart, they all share a strong

prove this, I will explore four key factors. First, I will summarize Communism and the foundation of

According to the Foundation for People with Learning Disabilities, 89% of children with moderate
learning difficulties, 24% of children with severe learning difficulties and 18% of children with
profound multiple learning difficulties are educated in mainstream schools. Something so prevalent

mainstreamed students struggle socially and academically. Either looked over or coddled by general
