Skepticism On The Search For The Truth Of Our Knowledge
Skepticism in the Search for the Truth of Our Knowledge
How many times have you said, No way, I do not believe it! It is our natural tendency not to
believe in something that we have not seen with our own eyes or experienced it personally. There
is a saying, seeing is believing which has led us to a world full of skeptics. We want proof so we
are not gullible fools. Skepticism, or scepticism, as it was spelled back in the ancient times, was
pondered by philosophers who tried unsuccessfully to figure out the thought process and how
we gain knowledge. Philosophers gave deep thought to determine how we arrive at such true
beliefs and knowledge of the external world. Three such philosophers were Rene Descartes,
David Hume and Christopher Grau. Rene Descartes was a French philosopher in the early 1600
s; David Hume was a Scottish Philosopher in the 1700 s, and Grau an American philosopher
Professor born in 1970. The timeline s important because philosophical views have evolved over
time. All three men were from different eras, but they each explored, argued, and addressed the
topic of skepticism from their philosophical view. This proves that they take the subject of
skepticism seriously, just as we should too. There is good reason to believe that a human s
knowledge of the external world results from both a posteriori knowledge acquired through sensory
experience and a priori knowledge which is innate. Descartes, Hume, and Grau through their
personal views and skeptical

Essay on Why I Want to be a Professional Engineer
Engineers are viewed as the backbone of modern society. The innovation and the creativity that
drives our society forward are inspired by the teachings of engineering, whether it is transporting
on a bus or making a phone call, the work of an engineer is experienced. Engineers satisfy both
themselves and humanity which is the reason for my passion for engineering.
The idea of seeing a project come to life is what provokes my desire to become an engineer. In the
past, engineers have created the greatest historic innovations such as health technology. My passion
for chemical engineering is seeing how the fundamental theories of Chemistry, Physics and Math
can be applied to create an innovative industry. In very concrete ways, engineers ... Show more

I would like to add to my degree by completing an Engineering and Social Development
certification and a minor in French at UFT. Even more, the location of this campus is ideal for me
because I may easily commute and educate myself in the heart of Toronto.
Throughout my high school life, my extracurricular involvement has helped me develop a variety
of skills. Primarily, I have been a part of the Leadership and Peer Support group as a project
manager of a conference; I exercised my leadership and collaborative skills. As an engineer,
there are times where an individual with leadership and cooperative skills must rise and become
the leader in different projects. Interpersonal skills play a significant role in an engineer s life
because they will always be required to communicate with new people. Earlier this year, a peer
and I decided to start a Student Mentorship Program and as a co founder of this group, I learned
how to problem solve, make decisions, think laterally, and work as a team. As a student, my skills
will allow me to accept challenges with confidence and contribute to discussions during lectures
with new ideas. Teamwork, leadership, interpersonal and hands on skills are key abilities engineers
must contain in order to be successful.
Engineering is an exciting field that I believe will be enjoyable, challenging, and above all, intuiting
to undertake at university. I believe pursuing engineering means exceeding your expectations and

Examples Of Irony In The Canterbury Tales
In The Canterbury Tales there are many examples of irony and poetic justice. There is one tale
in particular that has a great example of irony. The pardoner tale in the book The Canterbury
Tales shows the ironic greed of the pardoner. The pardoner job is to sell pardons which are
basically go to heaven free cards. So that already starts to show greed, but most of his greed
comes from him selling fake artifacts. In his prologue it even shows that he would not preach
unless he was paid to do so, and if he was paid he would preach about not being greedy it shows
this on line 35 36 as long as I can preach and get their silver for the things I teach . That shows that
the pardoner is greedy and tricks people out of their money with the corruption

The Legacy Of Nelson Mandela
For to be free is not merely to cast off one s chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances
the freedom of others ( Nelson Mandela. History). Nelson Mandela, a anti apartheid activist,
became one of the world s most significant freedom fighter. His numerous acts and protests flooded
South Africawith immense pride and peace and therefore grew South Africa into a thriving,
substantial economy with minimal racial boundaries. Nelson Mandela was a prominent
political leader who brought a dynamic end to the apartheid struggle, fought for equal rights of
all individuals, and became the nation s first black South African leader.Though Mandela
experienced a normal childhood, he soon felt the hardships in a white dominated education
system. Nelson Mandela, son of Henry Mandela, originated from the Xhosa Tembu speaking
people of South Africa. Due to his father s position, Mandela rejected his claim to chieftainship
and followed his dream to become a lawyer. ( Hero of ) When Mandela attended a missionary
school, he quickly noticed the domination of European culture when he closely read the history
books. He noticed that the book depicted whites as notorious heroes and blacks as savage beasts.
Trifled by his education, Mandela attended two years at Fort Hare College where he obtained
server punishment for trying to organize a student strike, which led to the downfall of his
successful college years ( Nelson Mandela. ). Mandela became a respectful leader of his Youth

Ethical And Ethical Ethics Of The International Arena Essay
Conducting ethical business in the United States can be seen as clear cut to us. Although we are a
diverse nation, as U.S. citizens, most gain experience in the professional environment where ethics
is explained thoroughly enough that one is able to determine what is ethical and what is unethical.
When it comes to ethicsin the international arena, Thomas Donaldson explained how that structure
almost does not exist since ethical culture, practices and the social norm is different in each
country. In the article, Donaldson debunked previous theories like cultural relativism and ethical
imperialism while coming up with a guideline that can help companies proceed in understanding
cultural difference while still being ethical. (Donaldson, 1996, pp. 48 52) As I read through the
article, it made me remember past events that had cultural dilemma while helping me find new
ways to help my ethical decision making skills. Key lessons from the article was the way
Donaldson explained how there was no exact way to deal with foreign business practices since
they differ in each country. Cultural relativism is defined as no culture s ethics are better than any
other s; therefore, there are no international rights or wrongs. As cultural relativism lives by the
saying when in Rome, do as the Romans do but it proves to be inadequate since rules and
regulations differ in each country. The article states that cultural relativism is morally blind .

Essay On African American Culture
African American culture is unique due to their miserable history of slavery that was generated
within United States and is related to the history of this nation. Most historians agree that African
people arrived in the colonial area, called New World, which is now the United States in the
seventeenth century. They came here with British and Dutch settlers through a system of
involuntary servitude (Chandler, 2017, p.160). In the early colonial period, African slaves officially
enjoyed equal rights with white indentured servants. However, within two or three generations, the
situation drastically changed. The slave trade developed; imported African slaves became popular
in several colonies with the principle that slaves were properties. Black peopleat that time were in a
position from which they could not escape and their children were born in slavery.... Show more

In addition, they were undervalued and not respected as humans. This perspective was believed to
be normal and was considered natural for them. One of the clear examples of their suffering was
European colonists practice of re naming among African Americans. According to a journal by Zulu
(2017) African original names represented the identities of individuals and the culture history (p.
129). In order to suppress and erase African identity, European colonists attacked, defiled, and
provided African slaves new names that reflected their subservience (Zulu, 2017, p. 129). The
author explains that naming is not only a personal identity issue, but a human rights issue as well.
When this basic right was violated, this means the black Americans were not considered human
beings. In short, their experience of enslavement was one of the remarkable parts of African

Astrology In The Knight s Tale Essay
In Chaucer s time, astrology was of great interest to many. Geoffrey Chaucer, in fact,
wholeheartedly believed in judicial astrology. Judicial astrology is the type of astrology that
predicts the future. Chaucer was a devout Catholic and believed strongly in freedom of the will,
which is denied by judicial astrology. However, he passionately believed in astrology, as well as
classical mythology, both of which he used metaphorically in his work. Chaucer s very popular
work, The Canterbury Tales, is filled with astrological, as well as astronomical, allegories. Some of
these astrological references are extremely evident to the reader, whereas some others are more
discrete. The first tale in this collection, The Knight s Tale, contains many of these astrological
allegories. This tale is about a love triangle that forms between two cousins, Palamoun and Arcite,
with a lady named Emelye. When these cousins discover that they have fallen for the same woman,

Boise State University Giger and DavidHizar Transcultural Assessment Model: Hispanic
Cultural Awareness in Healthcare In every profession, there are underlying key aspects as to
how that profession functions. Moreover, in the nursing profession there are processes used to
facilitate quality care, as well as models to show the aspects of how we address this care.
Likewise, Cultural aspects are deemed a high priority in establishing greater quality care, and are
considered within each aspect of the Giger and DavidHizar Transcultural Model. The Giger and
DavidHizar Transcultural Model, is a model used in healthcare to establish how care is provided
and what to consider when implementing care. It is devised of communication, space, social
organization, time, environmental control, and biological variations. Each aspect is discussed in
depth, giving relevance in a specific culture; Hispanics. Within the culture title of Hispanics, we
expand further to specifically discuss family and children in relation to this model. Furthermore,
how providers intervene in cultural implications that arise in the healthcare setting, reflects how
they interpret the model and make use of the nursing processes. Using two aspects of the model,
two implications have been used for example purposes, using Hispanic culture as reference. This

Dishonesty As A Vice, Is Universal And Timeless Essay
Dishonesty, as a vice, is universal and timeless; according to the Bible, the very first humans on
earth committed the first sin of deception. Adam and Eve lied to God about whether they had
eaten the fruit of the forbidden tree in the Garden of Eden, cementing the human race as one which
feels that the burden of truth is too cumbersome to carry, and dooming humanity to a life of sin.
Modern liars still carry on this legacy of deception, and rather than seeing modern liars as their
own association, all living humans are modern liars. Regardless of whether the practice of
dishonesty is daily or hourly, small white lies or large scale intentional misdirection, each mortal
creature contributes to the act of lying. Some of these large scale liars were interviewed in the
documentary entitled (Dis)Honesty: The Truth About Lies people from all walks of life who share
solidarity in the experience of the exposition and chastisement which frequently follows the act of
lying. The interviewees also collectively understand the snowballing effect of lies taking on a life
of their own and growing exponentially in size as they must be maintained through an ever
expanding mountain of mistruths. All those who were interviewed started with good intentions and
seemingly justifiable excuses for their dishonesty, and yet have all had to face the consequences
that come with lying. The act of lying along with the question of its morality was viewed to be
paramount in the study of

Analyzing The Studio System In Hollywood In The 1920 s
The studio system was an arrangement of craft services and talent that made movies dictated by
contractual terms. Through this system, studios could easily move from project to project,
producing like that of a factory. Creating movies in this arrangement eliminated the need to raise
money or finances; directors usually created movies in the style of the studio which lessened
artistic creativity (Lewis, p 104). The studio system was dominant in Hollywood through the
1920 s well into the 1950 s. Analyzing the studio system simplistically we see basic capitalism. In
the 1920 s movies became more popular, so fulfilling the rules of basic supply and demand,
studios were formed to profit from the insatiable public desire to see more films (in

where did the individuals who helped build the Great Pyramid came from. Some believe they were

Global Warming as a Business Risk
Global warming has negative effects on industries. This means that this phenomenon should be
considered as forming part of the social and environmental risks that business firms needs to
consider in developing their business strategies. If not, businesses would find themselves
unprepared for the possible effects of global warming on their operations, profitability and even
viability. In the case of the tourism industry, tourism businesses would not be prepared to address
the actualization of problems caused by global warming if these firms do not understand the
impact of this phenomenon and include preventive plans and alternative solutions in case these
effects are actualized. This is to ensure the viability of tourism businesses or if not the shift in
business strategy of these firms to adjust to the market and industry changes brought about by the
manifestations of global warming. Risk is the probability that a particular adverse event occurs
during a stated period of time, or results from a particular challenge (1995, ). This could also

Human Rights And The International System
Understanding Human Rights in the International System Through a Liberal Perspective
Human rights as a topic of study may have a simple, incontestable sound to it, but this is far from
the case. Yes, most people will recognize that human beings deserve certain rights, but past that
point all opinions begin to split and scatter. As it stands, human rightsare an ever changing and
complex category of issues. In order to try and make sense of these complex topics, scholars
employ a range of theories. Theories act like a lens, helping to organize the analytical process and
point people in the appropriate direction. Without the foundation that theory lays out, the thought
process, as well as arguments, can quickly become a mess of smaller thoughts, often with
contradicting outcomes. In this paper, I will utilize Liberalism to try and understand the nature of
human rights as a political issue within the international system.
Human rights and the discussion thereof are complex and dynamic. Human history is filled with
the sluggish progression of human rights. The rapid process of ever increasing globalization has
helped to speed up the fight for human rights over the last century. However, many obstacles still
exist, the most notable being the debate over Universalism and Cultural Relativism. Put simply,
Universalism asserts that all rights should be universal (everyone deserves the same rights
regardless of sex, race, religion, geographic location, age, etc.). On the

The Strange People In Roald Dahl s The Voyage One
Have you ever been on a trip and met some strange people? Not in the sense as creepy, but as in
weird? This occurs to Roald Dahl in Going Solo. On his trip to different places to work for the
Shell Company, he meets two rather odd people. One who likes to run around the deck naked
with his wife. And another one who finds fingers and toes disgusting. (The Voyage Out, 64).
Both of these two people meet Dahl on his trip. Dahl thinks they re both different in sense of he
doesn t have the same impression for both of them. But the way Dahl describes them and their
actions show that they might not be so different after all. There was a person on the SS Mantola
who Dahl meets, Major Griffiths. Major Griffiths had a black moustache and had spent thirty
six years in India, and was going there again (The Voyage Out, 9). Major Griffiths was quite odd.
One day, Dahl was looking out of his port hole when all of a sudden, he saw someone naked run
by. At first, he thought it was a ghost, but as soon as the ghost ran by again, Dahl recognized him
as Major Griffiths. (The Voyage Out, 7 8). Dahl found this weird and strange, but at the same time,
he was jealous of the Major. Dahl wished he had the courage to go out there and run around naked
around the deck without worrying about what people thought about him. You can probably come to
the conclusion that Dahl liked Major Griffiths courage, which he did, but Dahl didn t somewhat
like him, he actually thought the Major was rude and dotty.

How Does Technology Affect Pop Culture
In today s 21st century, technology has become a major influence in our lives. We have the ability
to make mutual relationships through social media. Since in the past people were able to come in
contact with each other face to face and discuss their concerns regarding what is happening in their
environment. But now we can catch the news through the newsfeed on Facebook or other social
mediaplatforms. When you look at people are often on their cell phones creating a feeling of
isolation since they are attached to their phone and not noticing the real world around them. In
relation, digital humanities are known as the connecting of digital technologies and humanities,
which is the study of human behavior. Digital technology and popular culture compliment because

The Foolishness Of Jim Crow Laws
I m tired of all this foolishness. Everywhere I glance there are signs that read Whites and
Colored. Jim Crow Laws are everywhere and they re a number of laws requiring racial
segregation. Jim Crow Laws created segregation and discrimination against African Americans.
People judge us by what they see, the color of our skin instead of us as an individual. Everyone s
human and no one should feel any lesser than anybody, we all have feeling and sometimes I
even feel terrible because of the way I get treated. Everyone should be equal no matter the shade
of color because that doesn t mean you can t have the same rights as others. People see African
Americans as less just because of the simple fact we re black. Therefore, I m going to take all my
pride and stand up for what I believe.
I m going to stop all this nonsense. I m going to make the world better and I will make history. I
don t want people to suffer the way I did and still am, I want them to live happy. I want people to
be happy of who they are and feel proud of themselves no matter what anybody has to say. I want
people to have a future and succeed, I just want the best. I want people to follow in my footsteps
and say King stood up for what he believed in and I want to do the same thing. I want to be an
inspiration for the next generation and because I know every African Americanwants the same
thing, which is respect and equality I will stand up for them. Even Though I know many people
want this change, many people are not willing to do what it takes because of the simple fact there
scared. Believe me I m scared too I don t know what s going to come out of this. Yes, I m running a
really huge risk but I m doing it for my people. I m willing to give up everything and anything just
for there to be world peace and equality. I ve been told to always strive for what I believe in and
that s what I m going to do.
I don t like the fact that white people feel as if they re better than blacks and colored. I m not
saying that blacks and colored people are better either. I just don t know what lead people to think
like this. In all reality the world would be a better and healthier place if there was no type of
discrimination. Everyone points out the

Signs And Signs Of Dating Essay
There are many signs to be aware of when dating a man to let you know if he is no longer into
you. When the time comes, most men do not want to tell a woman that they have been dating
that they are no longer interested. Because of this, you must be aware of any signs that he may
give you. Most of the signs are blatant, and other ones are more subtle. If your mate does any of
the things listed below, let him go and move on to someone else. 1. He stops calling completely
or not as much as he did in the beginning. If you have to initiate the calls all of the time, he
probably has lost interest in you. When men are into you, they will make time to call. If your
person of interest can not continue to make initial contact with you, then he s not worth your
time. 2. He does not want to spend any time with you. If weeks or months go by without going
out on any dates, then he is not into you. If there is some interest there, he will make time to
spend with you. Do not sit around waiting for him to make time for you. Cut your losses and
meet someone else that will be happy to be in your company. 3. You only see him when he wants
to sleep with you. Do not put yourself in this situation. It is best not to have sexual relations
early on. If he only wants you to come over to his place or he wants to come over to your place
instead of going out, he wants you only for sex. Let him go, if he exhibits this behavior. You are
worth much more than this. 4. He does not have any time for you

The Discovery Of The Roller Coaster
Several hundred years ago, a man near St. Petersburg, Russia, built a structure that has defined
amusement worldwide. What started as a 70 foot tall wooden structure with steps leading up to a
large slide covered with ice has grown into what we now know as the death defying, thrill inducing,
modern day roller coaster. The people who enjoyed the early Russian form of the roller coaster led
the way for the French inventors to create their own version, which included waxed slides instead
of ice covered slides because of the difference in temperature between the frigid Russia and more
temperate France. There is great debate about which country, Russia or France, first invented the
wheeled coaster, but the fact remains that the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This first coaster, designed by LaMarcus A. Thompson, was an instant success. Thompson, who
invented many diverse things from the time he was a child, is now known as the Father of the
Roller Coaster . His roller coaster made over $600 per day the summer it opened, which is
amazing considering that Thompson only charged a nickel per ride. After Thompson got things
rolling , many other inventors and investors saw the profit in roller coasters and contributed to
what is now known as the Golden Age of Roller Coasters, the 1920s. During this time, nearly
2,000 coasters opened up around the country, and even into Canada. From the New York Rye
Beach Aeroplane to the Crystal Beach Cyclone in Canada, roller coasters had truly taken off.
Unfortunately for roller coaster enthusiasts, though, the economic and social changes of the
1940s, 50s, and 60s brought a sharp decline in the number of people with disposable income
enough to attend amusement parks and ride roller coasters. As a result, few new ones were built
and many were torn down during this time period. Very few of the Golden Age coasters are still in
use today. Luckily, one roller coaster reversed this downward slump and raced into what is now the
modern age of roller coasters. Kings Island, an amusement park near Cincinnati, Ohio, introduced
their new coaster, The

Adam Smith And Andrew Carnegie And The Gospel Of Wealth
The continuous disparity of wealth and income can cause constant economic problems within a
society. Although it is not apparent all the time, there are few benefits of discrepancy itself such as
individual wealth, capital, and labor. Both Smith and Carnegie have distinct beliefs about wealth
that differentiate from one another, yet are similar in certain ways. Adam Smith confined all his
ideas about the common man in his Wealth of Nations . Whereas, in the Gospel of Wealth, Andrew
Carnegie had distinct beliefs about the effects of capitalism. All in all, economic conditions of the
21st century still date back to previous years and signify the importance of economic competition.

Smith was very much concerned with the welfare of the community and created The Wealth of
Nations, to put forth most of his economic ideas, that are still considered today. The message
Adam Smith alleged was that since people satisfied their own self needs, then the economy
would work affectively. For example, When people look to their own self interests, they
contribute unintentionally, by means of an invisible hand , to the welfare of society (Smith 281).
Smith talks about the invisible hand as a guiding tool towards supply and demand within a
society and argued the division of labor generates wealth not just for that one person but for the
nation as a whole. By selling products that are in demand, for the purpose of earning money
people are engaging in within their enterprises. Additionally, the more demands, the more people
want to invest, the more people need to work, the harder it is to find a job when the economy is at
a low. Today, the invisible hand theory is often guides free markets and capitalism in the direction
of efficiency, through supply and demand and competition for scarce resources.
Another significant contribution to a government is Capitol because profit determines wealth
which can assist an economy to grow bigger and better. Andrew Carnegie acknowledged the
unequal effects of the laissez faire system of capitalism through The Gospel of Wealth. Carnegie
thought that a government should have little to no

legacy that is still around today, despite the original show being cancelled after its third season.
The pilot episode of star trek starring Jeffrey Hunter was actually rejected by NBC because it

Aristotle was a Greek philosopher and polymath, a student of Plato and teacher of Alexander the

logic, rhetoric, linguistics, politics, government, ethics, biology, and zoology. Together with Plato
and Socrates (Plato s teacher), Aristotle is one of the most important founding figures in Western

philosophy, encompassing morality, aesthetics, logic, science, politics, and metaphysics.

In 322 BC Aristotle was forced to flee Athens with his family when the political leadership reacted
against the Macedonians again and his previously published works supporting Macedonian rule left
him a target. He passed on his Lyceum to Theophrastus and died later that year in Chalcis, near his
hometown.
It is during this period in Athens from 335 to 323 BC when Aristotle is believed to have composed
many of his works. Aristotle wrote many dialogues, only fragments of which survived. The works
that have survived are in treatise form and were not, for the most part, intended for widespread
publication, as they are generally thought to be lecture aids for his students. His most important
treatises include Physics, Metaphysics, Nicomachean Ethics, Politics, De Anima (On the Soul) and
Poetics.
Aristotle not only studied almost every subject possible at the time, but made significant
contributions to most of them. In physical science, Aristotle studied anatomy, astronomy,
embryology, geography, geology, meteorology, physics and zoology. In philosophy, he wrote on
aesthetics, ethics, government, metaphysics, politics, economics, psychology, rhetoric and
theology. He also studied education, foreign customs, literature and poetry. His combined works
constitute a virtual encyclopedia of Greek knowledge. It has been suggested that Aristotle was
probably the last person to know everything there was to be known in his own time.

While this writer had some rudimentary knowledge of the impact serotonin had on the brain,
Why? The Neuroscience of Suicide by Carol Ezzell piqued my curiosity on the role levels of

was recently posted on the Neurology and Behavior website as supplemental reading for neurology

Roughly seven years later Carol Ezzell revisits Dr. Mann s research with his colleague Victoria
Arango. Arango s research, presented in 2001, at a conference of the American College of
Neuropsychopharmacology had determined that people who were depressed and died by suicide
contained fewer neurons in the orbital prefrontal cortex and that in suicide brains, that area had one
third the number of presynaptic serotonin transporters that control the brains had but roughly 30
percent more post synaptic serotonin receptors . (2) This means that the brain is trying extra hard
to deliver whatever serotonin it could produce to the correct part of the brain. This system of
serotonin production and absorption is known as the serotonergic system. The serotonergic system
is what Arango believes is deficient in people who attempt or commit suicide. (2)
Arango and Mann are developing a positron emission tomography (PET) test that measures
serotonergic system. This system would monitor the areas of the brain using serotonin in patients
who have the most skewed serotonin circuitry and are therefore at highest risk of suicide . (2)
None of these articles in anyway suggest that an individual with serotonin deficiency will be a
victim of suicide. Victoria Arango of the New York State Psychiatric Institute says the occurrence of
suicide starts with having an

Communism And Communism
Communism is a belief that there shall be greater equality and honesty will be granted in the
world (Sheldon). There was a huge discrimination between those living in poverty versus those
who are wealthy. In order to end this, people believed that a combat between the two sides was
the only way to do so, causing lots of violence and injury. Despite this, the result of combat was
social and economic justice to those who were not originally given it (Ali). Citizens living in
poverty were often paid less money than the wealthy, even if they were doing the exact same task,
so when equality was given to the working class, many people s lives were influenced positively.
Communists believed it was their duty to whip out capitalism, and they did this by targeting the
upper class citizens and formed communist blocs, who were the socialist states who practiced
communism(Ali). There were four major ideas in communism. The first idea was that members
believed in both the society and God. The members do not have the freedom to believe in whatever
they would like, which the United States allowed. The second main idea is citizens economic state
determine many other qualities which dictate your lifestyle. The members believe that your
economic factors affect who you interact with, and people are vulnerable to change based on how
their economic state changes. The last main idea is the society believes in socialism, which is means

The Influence Of Mass Media
Turn on the television, computer, smartphone, or tablet and the majority of the time an
advertisement depicting youthful faces will appear within 10 minutes if not the first 5 seconds of a
loading youtube video. Beauty products, weight loss programs and suppliments, plastic surgery
references and encouragement, tickets to events or locations which stimulate feelings of nostalgia
bombard viewers from every angle. This bias of youthful appearances is the basis of American
media. The mass mediais in the business of affecting how and what people think (Summers). By
Summers definition it can be concluded that, as the majority of people build the cultureof a society
and media affects how and what people think, mass media is creating a culture obsessed with youth.
Americans have a fascination with youth and are reluctant to accept aging gracefully. The
obsession of youth is not an American phenomena. Countries and societies in the modern world and
throughout history have been interested in discovering methods of reversing the biological clock
through means of beauty products and practices so that individuals may appear younger, and
thereby, more beautiful. World wide, making changes to one s appearance to reverse, halt, or
prolong the humanlifespan has been embodied by myths as early as 3,000 B.C.E. and perhaps
earlier (Binstock). Further, actual records of such practices have been traced back to 2,500

Inchoate Crimes: A closer look at criminal attempt
The criminal justice system is continually looking for ways to take preventative measures to halt
crime before it happens however when faced with defining attempted crimes the courts have found
it difficult to determine when an action should be punished the same or lesser than a completed
crime. However, there are three types of inchoate crimes that can be punishable by law as these
crimes are the beginning steps of the crime. The three types of offenses include solicitation defined
as persuading or encouraging one to commit a crime, conspiracy which is the agreement to commit
crime and possibly act on agreement and attempt is the unsuccessful ... Show more content on

In addition, attempt has two different subcategories of attempt that are punishable by law.
Complete attempt also known as imperfect attempt is when the individual covers all steps to
commit crime but fails to follow through, an example of a complete attempt is if a shooter misses
his target in a drive by attempt. An incomplete attempt is if the individual is forced to abandon the
attempted crime due to reasons beyond one s control, an example of an incomplete attempt is if the
shooter had to abandon location because of known whereabouts by the police. Although, there is a
third type of attempt known as the impossible attempt in which the attempt could have been
completed had the scenario played out correctly such as if the shooter shot at the targets location
and target is not present however this attempt is not a defense in an attempt to commit a crime.
Impossible attempts otherwise known as factual impossibility cannot be used as a defense for
criminal attempt and is not recognized by the Moral Penal Code. Another type of impossibility is
inherent possibility in which the act could never be achieved. However, factual impossibility and
inherent impossibility should not be confused with legal impossibility. The term legal impossibility

Descriptive Essay About A Hot Air Balloon
Hot Air Balloon One day I was just sitting at home while I was thinking about what to do, it was
during thanksgiving so it was not only me thinking about what to do at the time. My whole family
and I would usually do something fun for thanksgiving after we ate our thanksgiving dinner and
talked and everything like that. I then had an ideathat I had been wanting to do for a while but I
didn t want to say it because I knew nobody would want to do it except me. But then I was getting
scared about the idea I had myself; the idea I had was to go in a hot air balloon. I don t really know
why but I suddenly had the courage to just tell them that I thoughtit was a good idea to go in a hot
air balloon. I was expecting everyone to basically laugh at me and say no right when I said it,
but I got a totally different reaction then I thought. My entire family liked the idea to go do it
but they all said they were to scared, but we could still go because they said it would be really
cool to watch me do it and anybody else that wanted to go up in the hot air balloon. So, before I
could basically even try to get over my own fear of going up in the hot air balloon we were
already on our way there. The best thing about it was is that where the hot air balloon place was,
people that we knew worked there so not only did we get to go there in the first place. Now we
go to do it for free, and I ll tell you what to go in a hot air balloon is not cheap. So basically, this
idea I had that I thought was never going to happen was happening right in front of my eyes. So
after about a 20 30 minute car ride to the hot air balloon lift off place; we finally arrived. When
we finally got there and all of my family got to the place to lift off we had to talk about all of the
rules. The rule that probably scared me the most was how you could not move around a lot
because the basket you had to stand in. The basket was able to break if there was too much
weight or there was too much movement and just other stuff that is possible. Also, another really
scary thing I had to do before getting in the hot air balloon was to basically sign a waiver saying
that if something goes wrong and I die it s not their fault. But even though with all

Chivalry Vs Chivalry
Chivalry it is a word everyone has heard at least once in their lifetime. The word is no longer
used to describe brave knights who fought for the love of their loyal ladies. Over hundreds of
years and many lifestyle changes, chivalry has shifted and morphed into something new to fit the
current generation. Chivalry changed over the ages from lifestyle and technology developments, as
well as comparing the Medieval version of chivalry to the more modern aspect of it that we have
now.
One of the most important things to be addressed is the definition of a few keywords: chivalry and
knight. Chivalry, is defined as the Medieval knightly system with a religious, moral and, social
code. Knights had a very strict code to obey known as The Code of Chivalry. A knight is somebody
who served someone of a higher power, usually a lord, king, or queen. They were trained from a
young age and served in a military capacity, usually on horseback or on foot.
Most of the sources used were books, simply because there were few valuable websites to use.
One of the books, titled Knight by Robert Jones had a fair amount of important information. There
s also a youtube video thrown in as well. Many sources who had similar information, but each had a
different perspective.
Before the comparison battle can begin, we must learn of the now ancient background of the
knightly system and how it came to be. The biggest contributor and kick start of knighthood was
Duke William of Normandy. After the

The Power Of Love In The Knight s Tale
In Geoffrey Chaucer s The Knight s Tale, love is the most important part of the story. William
Shakespeare once said, The course of true love never did run smooth. This quote reflects the story
of the Knights Arcite and Palamon. During their imprisonment, they fall in love with Emelye,
which sends them into a frenzy of loveand suffering. Arcite and Palamon show that love is
synonymous to suffering through imprisonment, banishment, and battle.
First, Arcite and Palamon s imprisonment compares the power of love to suffering. The tower
where the King Theseus imprisons the Knights is close to the garden wall where Emelye spends
her days. There would be no conflict involving love if the tower was in another location or if
Emelye spent her time elsewhere. The Knights know ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Though Palamon and Arcite know they will spend the rest of their days in confinement, they are

circumstances beyond their control and [live] their daily lives pragmatically (37). Palamon and
Arcite s circumstance is is a common occurrence for the time period and not unique to the story.
Next, Arcite s banishment reflects the similarities of love and suffering. King Theseus grants
Arcite his freedom, but Arcite faces banishment from Theseus kingdom from then on. For Arcite,
banishment is a fate worse than imprisonment. Arcite exclaims he was doomed eternally to dwell
no more in Purgatory, but in Hell. Arcite s banishment devastates him because it means he will
never see the love of his life Emelye again. He believes Palamon blissfully serves his indenture in
paradise rather than prison as Palamon has Emelyes presence while he has the loss. Arcite is unable
to find satisfaction even though he is free. According to Catherine A.

The appearance of universities was part of the same high medieval education boom. Originally
universities were institutions where students could attain specialized instruction in advanced
studies. These types of studies were not available in the average cathedral schools. Advanced
schools existed in the ancient world, but did not promote a fixed curricula or award degrees. The
term university originally meant a corporation of guild. All universities were corporations of

This is usually done by filling out a questionnaire. At this point in time, the student has already
endured a full term of a professor. If the professor is doing a horrible or unfair job, the student is
forced to endure this without any relief. Not only does this affect the student s drive to learn, but
also his ability to learn. Having a poor professor hinders the student s learning capabilities. When
this happens, the student has usually forgotten most of what he learned by the end of the term. This
makes a total waste of time and money.
As for medieval times, the student guilds began to have enormous power during the 13th century.
Students could discharge professors that did not meet the specifications of a good professor. The
students only had to refuse to attend the classes. Professors of this time also had to pledge
allegiance to a guild. The guild would provide the professor s salary. Professors were dependent to
the students and had to receive permission from the students for any changes. Holidays and
beginning and duration time of lectures were decided by the student guilds. With the passage of
time, guilds began to structure the curriculum, and the time duration of each subject. A fine would

Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) Ron D. Knapp Professor Michael Meadows Park University Internet
Campus A course paper presented to the School of Arts and Sciences and Distance Learning in
partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Baccalaureate LG201 Systems Engineering
and Analysis Park University October 09, 2011 The Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) program began with
defense reviews conducted by the Clinton Administration after taking office in 1992. At the time,
several government organizations were working on the next generation strike aircraft. Following an

The program collected data to manage manufacturing maturity, but currently unproven processes
and a lack of flight testing was of concern to the GAO because of a potentially costly future of
changes to design and manufacturing processes. Program costs continued to increase and the
schedule had slipped since the 2004 rebase line. Very little flight testing occurred as of the report
s publication and the first fully integrated aircraft was not expected to begin flight testing for at
least 4 years. In 2007 the Department of Defense cut the number of test aircraft and flight test
hours to maintain cost and schedule plans. A fully integrated, capable aircraft was not expected
to enter flight testing until 2012, increasing risks that problems could be found and would
require design and production changes, as well as retrofit expenses for aircraft already built. On
May 10, 2009, AA 1 had completed 84 test flights, including a deployment to Eglin AFB. The
first SDD STOVL aircraft, BF 1, had completed 14 flights. The second SDD aircraft, BF 2, had
its first flight in February 2009. By December 2009, only 4 of 13 test aircraft had been delivered
and total labor hours to build the aircraft had increased more than 50 percent above earlier
estimates. Late deliveries hampered the development flight test program and affected work on
production aircraft, even as plans

Acceptance Vs Conformity Essay
1.Shipment of goods an order may be construed as acceptance of a contract, as stated in UCC 2
206. However, under UCC 2 606 (1)(a) this implied acceptance is only pertinent to conforming
goods. If upon inspection within reasonable time, the goods are determined to be non
conforming, there is no acceptance. Acceptance is solely intended to be for goods that
adequately meet the terms of a contract. In this case, a waterski that breaks down almost
immediately is not an example of a conforming good. Andy wanting his money back is signaling
to the shop that he will not accept this non conforming good as completion of their contract. 2. a.
It is true that buyers must notify the seller of a breach within a reasonable amount of time for a
remedy, under UCC 2 607 (3)(a). If the time from discovery to notification is deemed outside the
limits of reasonability, then there may be no remedy derived or implied in the Uniform
Commercial Code. To best assure remedy though, per the UCC, it is best that any nonconformance
be immediately conveyed to the seller upon discovery. This allows a seller a reasonable attempt to
resolve the problem or become aware of other potential problems. This protects not only the buyer,
but also the seller. b.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is not true, and is covered under UCC 2 508, Cure by Seller of Improper Tender or Delivery,
section (1). This article states that if a buyer rejects tender or delivery due to nonconformance, and
if the time for performance has not expired, then the seller has the ability to cure the situation with
a shipment of conforming goods. The major stipulation here is if that it is the seller setting the
terms for conformance, as they would believe that non conforming goods would be acceptable. The
buyer must agree that these goods meet the terms of the contract, one party cannot act unilaterally.
It is the right of the buyer under UCC 2 601 to reject the improper

Chapter Three
Evidence of the Positive Effects of the Kodaly Method on American Music Education Numerous
studies have provided evidence of the positive effects the Kodaly Method has on many aspects of
the child as a whole person. Literacy is a very important part of the education of a child. Gromko
(2005) tested the hypothesis that music instruction that emphasizes the development of aural
perception would lead to significant gains in the development of young children s phonemic
awareness, particularly in their phoneme segmentation fluency (the ability to break words down
Into Individual sounds). Phonemic awareness is one aspect of phonological awareness, a reliable
predictor of later reading ability. Results revealed that kindergarten ... Show more content on

Musical involvement allows students to think about math in a different way. In the regular
classroom, math is often just math. Often times, children cannot see the use for math, especially if
it is a subject that they struggle to understand. In music class, however, math has a very distinct
purpose. It helps make music. Without math there would be no steady beat. Music gives math a
purpose and helps students understand skills using cross curricular approach. The information
found as a result of these tests is also significant because it proves the importance of music
education in the overall education of a child. Kodaly believed that music education should exist at
the core of curriculum. He believed that music is essential to make any education complete.
Music should not be thought of as a frill to the education system or a special activity or even a
privilege. Music education is as important as any other subject that is recognized as a core subject
and should be respected as such in the education of

  • 2. Skepticism On The Search For The Truth Of Our Knowledge Skepticism in the Search for the Truth of Our Knowledge How many times have you said, No way, I do not believe it! It is our natural tendency not to believe in something that we have not seen with our own eyes or experienced it personally. There is a saying, seeing is believing which has led us to a world full of skeptics. We want proof so we are not gullible fools. Skepticism, or scepticism, as it was spelled back in the ancient times, was pondered by philosophers who tried unsuccessfully to figure out the thought process and how we gain knowledge. Philosophers gave deep thought to determine how we arrive at such true beliefs and knowledge of the external world. Three such philosophers were Rene Descartes, David Hume and Christopher Grau. Rene Descartes was a French philosopher in the early 1600 s; David Hume was a Scottish Philosopher in the 1700 s, and Grau an American philosopher Professor born in 1970. The timeline s important because philosophical views have evolved over time. All three men were from different eras, but they each explored, argued, and addressed the topic of skepticism from their philosophical view. This proves that they take the subject of skepticism seriously, just as we should too. There is good reason to believe that a human s knowledge of the external world results from both a posteriori knowledge acquired through sensory experience and a priori knowledge which is innate. Descartes, Hume, and Grau through their personal views and skeptical ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Ethical And Ethical Ethics Of The International Arena Essay Conducting ethical business in the United States can be seen as clear cut to us. Although we are a diverse nation, as U.S. citizens, most gain experience in the professional environment where ethics is explained thoroughly enough that one is able to determine what is ethical and what is unethical. When it comes to ethicsin the international arena, Thomas Donaldson explained how that structure almost does not exist since ethical culture, practices and the social norm is different in each country. In the article, Donaldson debunked previous theories like cultural relativism and ethical imperialism while coming up with a guideline that can help companies proceed in understanding cultural difference while still being ethical. (Donaldson, 1996, pp. 48 52) As I read through the article, it made me remember past events that had cultural dilemma while helping me find new ways to help my ethical decision making skills. Key lessons from the article was the way Donaldson explained how there was no exact way to deal with foreign business practices since they differ in each country. Cultural relativism is defined as no culture s ethics are better than any other s; therefore, there are no international rights or wrongs. As cultural relativism lives by the saying when in Rome, do as the Romans do but it proves to be inadequate since rules and regulations differ in each country. The article states that cultural relativism is morally blind . (Donaldson, 1996, pp. 48 52) Another ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Essay On African American Culture African American culture is unique due to their miserable history of slavery that was generated within United States and is related to the history of this nation. Most historians agree that African people arrived in the colonial area, called New World, which is now the United States in the seventeenth century. They came here with British and Dutch settlers through a system of involuntary servitude (Chandler, 2017, p.160). In the early colonial period, African slaves officially enjoyed equal rights with white indentured servants. However, within two or three generations, the situation drastically changed. The slave trade developed; imported African slaves became popular in several colonies with the principle that slaves were properties. Black peopleat that time were in a position from which they could not escape and their children were born in slavery.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of the clear examples of their suffering was European colonists practice of re naming among African Americans. According to a journal by Zulu (2017) African original names represented the identities of individuals and the culture history (p. 129). In order to suppress and erase African identity, European colonists attacked, defiled, and provided African slaves new names that reflected their subservience (Zulu, 2017, p. 129). The author explains that naming is not only a personal identity issue, but a human rights issue as well. When this basic right was violated, this means the black Americans were not considered human beings. In short, their experience of enslavement was one of the remarkable parts of African American ... Judicial astrology is the type of astrology that predicts the future. Chaucer was a devout Catholic and believed strongly in freedom of the will, which is denied by judicial astrology. However, he passionately believed in astrology, as well as classical mythology, both of which he used metaphorically in his work. Chaucer s very popular work, The Canterbury Tales, is filled with astrological, as well as astronomical, allegories. Dishonesty As A Vice, Is Universal And Timeless Essay Dishonesty, as a vice, is universal and timeless; according to the Bible, the very first humans on earth committed the first sin of deception. Adam and Eve lied to God about whether they had eaten the fruit of the forbidden tree in the Garden of Eden, cementing the human race as one which feels that the burden of truth is too cumbersome to carry, and dooming humanity to a life of sin. Modern liars still carry on this legacy of deception, and rather than seeing modern liars as their own association, all living humans are modern liars. Regardless of whether the practice of dishonesty is daily or hourly, small white lies or large scale intentional misdirection, each mortal creature contributes to the act of lying. Some of these large scale liars were interviewed in the documentary entitled (Dis)Honesty: The Truth About Lies people from all walks of life who share solidarity in the experience of the exposition and chastisement which frequently follows the act of lying. The interviewees also collectively understand the snowballing effect of lies taking on a life of their own and growing exponentially in size as they must be maintained through an ever expanding mountain of mistruths. Human Rights And The International System Understanding Human Rights in the International System Through a Liberal Perspective Human rights as a topic of study may have a simple, incontestable sound to it, but this is far from the case. Yes, most people will recognize that human beings deserve certain rights, but past that point all opinions begin to split and scatter. As it stands, human rightsare an ever changing and complex category of issues. In order to try and make sense of these complex topics, scholars employ a range of theories. Theories act like a lens, helping to organize the analytical process and point people in the appropriate direction. Without the foundation that theory lays out, the thought process, as well as arguments, can quickly become a mess of smaller thoughts, often with contradicting outcomes. In this paper, I will utilize Liberalism to try and understand the nature of human rights as a political issue within the international system. Human rights and the discussion thereof are complex and dynamic. Human history is filled with the sluggish progression of human rights. The rapid process of ever increasing globalization has helped to speed up the fight for human rights over the last century. However, many obstacles still exist, the most notable being the debate over Universalism and Cultural Relativism. Put simply, Universalism asserts that all rights should be universal (everyone deserves the same rights regardless of sex, race, religion, geographic location, age, etc.). On the ... Major Griffiths had a black moustache and had spent thirty six years in India, and was going there again (The Voyage Out, 9). Major Griffiths was quite odd. One day, Dahl was looking out of his port hole when all of a sudden, he saw someone naked run by. At first, he thought it was a ghost, but as soon as the ghost ran by again, Dahl recognized him as Major Griffiths. (The Voyage Out, 7 8). • 24. The Foolishness Of Jim Crow Laws I m tired of all this foolishness. Everywhere I glance there are signs that read Whites and Colored. Jim Crow Laws are everywhere and they re a number of laws requiring racial segregation. Jim Crow Laws created segregation and discrimination against African Americans. People judge us by what they see, the color of our skin instead of us as an individual. Everyone s human and no one should feel any lesser than anybody, we all have feeling and sometimes I even feel terrible because of the way I get treated. Everyone should be equal no matter the shade of color because that doesn t mean you can t have the same rights as others. People see African Americans as less just because of the simple fact we re black. Therefore, I m going to take all my pride and stand up for what I believe. I m going to stop all this nonsense. I m going to make the world better and I will make history. I don t want people to suffer the way I did and still am, I want them to live happy. I want people to be happy of who they are and feel proud of themselves no matter what anybody has to say. I want people to have a future and succeed, I just want the best. I want people to follow in my footsteps and say King stood up for what he believed in and I want to do the same thing. I want to be an inspiration for the next generation and because I know every African Americanwants the same thing, which is respect and equality I will stand up for them. Even Though I know many people want this change, many people are not willing to do what it takes because of the simple fact there scared. Believe me I m scared too I don t know what s going to come out of this. Yes, I m running a really huge risk but I m doing it for my people. I m willing to give up everything and anything just for there to be world peace and equality. I ve been told to always strive for what I believe in and that s what I m going to do. I don t like the fact that white people feel as if they re better than blacks and colored. I m not saying that blacks and colored people are better either. When the time comes, most men do not want to tell a woman that they have been dating that they are no longer interested. Because of this, you must be aware of any signs that he may give you. Most of the signs are blatant, and other ones are more subtle. If your mate does any of the things listed below, let him go and move on to someone else. 1. He stops calling completely or not as much as he did in the beginning. If you have to initiate the calls all of the time, he probably has lost interest in you. When men are into you, they will make time to call. If your person of interest can not continue to make initial contact with you, then he s not worth your time. 2. He does not want to spend any time with you. If weeks or months go by without going out on any dates, then he is not into you. If there is some interest there, he will make time to spend with you. Do not sit around waiting for him to make time for you. Cut your losses and meet someone else that will be happy to be in your company. 3. You only see him when he wants to sleep with you. Do not put yourself in this situation. It is best not to have sexual relations early on. If he only wants you to come over to his place or he wants to come over to your place instead of going out, he wants you only for sex. Let him go, if he exhibits this behavior. • 26. The Discovery Of The Roller Coaster Several hundred years ago, a man near St. Petersburg, Russia, built a structure that has defined amusement worldwide. What started as a 70 foot tall wooden structure with steps leading up to a large slide covered with ice has grown into what we now know as the death defying, thrill inducing, modern day roller coaster. The people who enjoyed the early Russian form of the roller coaster led the way for the French inventors to create their own version, which included waxed slides instead of ice covered slides because of the difference in temperature between the frigid Russia and more temperate France. There is great debate about which country, Russia or France, first invented the wheeled coaster, but the fact remains that the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This first coaster, designed by LaMarcus A. Thompson, was an instant success. Thompson, who invented many diverse things from the time he was a child, is now known as the Father of the Roller Coaster . His roller coaster made over $600 per day the summer it opened, which is amazing considering that Thompson only charged a nickel per ride. After Thompson got things rolling , many other inventors and investors saw the profit in roller coasters and contributed to what is now known as the Golden Age of Roller Coasters, the 1920s. During this time, nearly 2,000 coasters opened up around the country, and even into Canada. From the New York Rye Beach Aeroplane to the Crystal Beach Cyclone in Canada, roller coasters had truly taken off. Unfortunately for roller coaster enthusiasts, though, the economic and social changes of the 1940s, 50s, and 60s brought a sharp decline in the number of people with disposable income enough to attend amusement parks and ride roller coasters. As a result, few new ones were built and many were torn down during this time period. Very few of the Golden Age coasters are still in use today. Luckily, one roller coaster reversed this downward slump and raced into what is now the modern age of roller coasters. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Smith was very much concerned with the welfare of the community and created The Wealth of Nations, to put forth most of his economic ideas, that are still considered today. The message Adam Smith alleged was that since people satisfied their own self needs, then the economy would work affectively. For example, When people look to their own self interests, they contribute unintentionally, by means of an invisible hand , to the welfare of society (Smith 281). Smith talks about the invisible hand as a guiding tool towards supply and demand within a society and argued the division of labor generates wealth not just for that one person but for the nation as a whole. By selling products that are in demand, for the purpose of earning money people are engaging in within their enterprises. Additionally, the more demands, the more people want to invest, the more people need to work, the harder it is to find a job when the economy is at a low. Today, the invisible hand theory is often guides free markets and capitalism in the direction of efficiency, through supply and demand and competition for scarce resources. • 33. Communism And Communism Communism is a belief that there shall be greater equality and honesty will be granted in the world (Sheldon). There was a huge discrimination between those living in poverty versus those who are wealthy. In order to end this, people believed that a combat between the two sides was the only way to do so, causing lots of violence and injury. Despite this, the result of combat was social and economic justice to those who were not originally given it (Ali). Citizens living in poverty were often paid less money than the wealthy, even if they were doing the exact same task, so when equality was given to the working class, many people s lives were influenced positively. Communists believed it was their duty to whip out capitalism, and they did this by targeting the upper class citizens and formed communist blocs, who were the socialist states who practiced communism(Ali). There were four major ideas in communism. The first idea was that members believed in both the society and God. The members do not have the freedom to believe in whatever they would like, which the United States allowed. I then had an ideathat I had been wanting to do for a while but I didn t want to say it because I knew nobody would want to do it except me. So, before I could basically even try to get over my own fear of going up in the hot air balloon we were already on our way there. The best thing about it was is that where the hot air balloon place was, people that we knew worked there so not only did we get to go there in the first place. The program collected data to manage manufacturing maturity, but currently unproven processes and a lack of flight testing was of concern to the GAO because of a potentially costly future of changes to design and manufacturing processes. Program costs continued to increase and the schedule had slipped since the 2004 rebase line. Very little flight testing occurred as of the report s publication and the first fully integrated aircraft was not expected to begin flight testing for at least 4 years. In 2007 the Department of Defense cut the number of test aircraft and flight test hours to maintain cost and schedule plans. A fully integrated, capable aircraft was not expected to enter flight testing until 2012, increasing risks that problems could be found and would require design and production changes, as well as retrofit expenses for aircraft already built. On May 10, 2009, AA 1 had completed 84 test flights, including a deployment to Eglin AFB. The first SDD STOVL aircraft, BF 1, had completed 14 flights. The second SDD aircraft, BF 2, had its first flight in February 2009. By December 2009, only 4 of 13 test aircraft had been delivered and total labor hours to build the aircraft had increased more than 50 percent above earlier estimates. Late deliveries hampered the development flight test program and affected work on production aircraft, even as plans ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Acceptance Vs Conformity Essay 1.Shipment of goods an order may be construed as acceptance of a contract, as stated in UCC 2 206. However, under UCC 2 606 (1)(a) this implied acceptance is only pertinent to conforming goods. If upon inspection within reasonable time, the goods are determined to be non conforming, there is no acceptance. Acceptance is solely intended to be for goods that adequately meet the terms of a contract. In this case, a waterski that breaks down almost immediately is not an example of a conforming good. Andy wanting his money back is signaling to the shop that he will not accept this non conforming good as completion of their contract. 2. a. It is true that buyers must notify the seller of a breach within a reasonable amount of time for a remedy, under UCC 2 607 (3)(a). If the time from discovery to notification is deemed outside the limits of reasonability, then there may be no remedy derived or implied in the Uniform Commercial Code. To best assure remedy though, per the UCC, it is best that any nonconformance be immediately conveyed to the seller upon discovery. This allows a seller a reasonable attempt to resolve the problem or become aware of other potential problems. This protects not only the buyer, but also the seller. b.... This article states that if a buyer rejects tender or delivery due to nonconformance, and if the time for performance has not expired, then the seller has the ability to cure the situation with a shipment of conforming goods. The major stipulation here is if that it is the seller setting the terms for conformance, as they would believe that non conforming goods would be acceptable. The buyer must agree that these goods meet the terms of the contract, one party cannot act unilaterally. It is the right of the buyer under UCC 2 601 to reject the improper ... Kodaly Chapter Three Evidence of the Positive Effects of the Kodaly Method on American Music Education Numerous studies have provided evidence of the positive effects the Kodaly Method has on many aspects of the child as a whole person. Literacy is a very important part of the education of a child. Gromko (2005) tested the hypothesis that music instruction that emphasizes the development of aural perception would lead to significant gains in the development of young children s phonemic awareness, particularly in their phoneme segmentation fluency (the ability to break words down Into Individual sounds). Phonemic awareness is one aspect of phonological awareness, a reliable predictor of later reading ability. Results revealed that kindergarten ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Musical involvement allows students to think about math in a different way. In the regular classroom, math is often just math. Often times, children cannot see the use for math, especially if it is a subject that they struggle to understand. In music class, however, math has a very distinct purpose. It helps make music. Without math there would be no steady beat. Music gives math a purpose and helps students understand skills using cross curricular approach. The information found as a result of these tests is also significant because it proves the importance of music education in the overall education of a child. Kodaly believed that music education should exist at the core of curriculum. He believed that music is essential to make any education complete. Music should not be thought of as a frill to the education system or a special activity or even a privilege. Music education is as important as any other subject that is recognized as a core subject and should be respected as such in the education of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
