How To Write A Rhetorical Analysis Of Shooting An Elephant
Introduction:
Shooting an Elephant is an exposition composed by George Orwell. It was first distributed in the
artistic magazine New Writing in late 1936 and communicate by the BBC Home Service on 12
October 1948. George Orwell was an English author, writer, columnist, and commentator. His
exposition depicts the experience of the English storyteller, conceivably Orwell himself, called upon
to shoot a forceful elephant while acting as a cop in Burma.
Statement of the Problem:
In the paper, the essayist don t endeavor to murder the elephant Orwell, realizing that the elephant is
most likely no longer unsafe, has no aim of shooting the elephant. In spite of Orwell s abhorrence for
shooting the elephant, he turns out to be all of a sudden mindful ... Show more content on

He is eased, he concedes, that the coolie kicked the bucket, since it gave him an affection for shooting
the elephant. To the extent his kindred officers are concerned, he made the best decision. To the extent
the locals are concerned, he concealed any hint of failure confront. However Orwell finishes up, I
regularly pondered whether any of the others got a handle on that I had done it exclusively to abstain
from looking a trick.
Orwell can better comprehend government through his run in with the elephant on the grounds that the
elephant fills in as an image of imperialism. For instance, much like the Burmese who have been
colonized and who mishandle Orwell, the elephant has been incited to dangerous conduct by being
mistreated. While its ruinous conduct, and the Burmese more unobtrusive insubordination may not be
unequivocally great things, they are made reasonable given the harsh conditions both the elephant and
the Burmese have needed to persevere.

How Did Technology Affect The Plains Indians
The lives of the Plains Indians have been affected in many ways, such as technological inventions as
well as in political aspects. The Plains Indians have been scammed of their land through government
actions and Americans, due to the technological advances that occurred during the late nineteenth
century. The lives of the Plain Indians were affected by the technological and political advances issued
by the United States Government and the entrepreneurs of the late nineteenth century. One of the first
ways that the lives of the Plains Indians were affected was through technological advances. Three of
the major technological advances that affected the Indians were the railroads, the telegraph, and the
telephone. All of these inventions contributed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The two main actions that the United States government issued towards the Plains Indians were the
Homestead Act and the Dawes Act. The Homestead Act correlated with the trend of Manifest Destiny
and encouraged settlers to migrate west. The Homestead Act encouraged western migration by
providing 160 acres of public land. In exchange, homesteaders paid a small filing fee and were
required to complete five years of continuous residence before receiving ownership of the land. After
six months of residency, homesteaders also had the option of purchasing the land from the government
for roughly $1.25 per acre. (Primary Documents in American History) The land that the government
was distributing belonged to various tribes of the Plains Indians. By having the Homestead Act in
effect and encouraging settlers to migrate west, Plains Indians were forced into reservations. The real
impact of Manifest Destiny was that it sent many settlers west, without realizing that the settlers were
taking land from the Indians. The Indians that lived in the reservations had just enough food to keep
their population alive, as well as living in unsanitary conditions with bacteria and diseases
everywhere. The two options that the Indians had was to either live in the reservations with little to no
food or to face genocide. Some Indian tribes tried to make amends with American troops who ushered
the natives to reservations, but some American troops turned on the Indians. One incident of the
American troops killing Indians was the Nez Perce war. This war was over a conflict of land and how
some US troops did not agree on the settlement of the land. The war resulted in over 100 casualties
towards the Indians and was stated as a genocide of and Indian tribe. The second act that was passed
by the United States government was the Dawes Act. The Dawes Act authorized the President to
survey American

The Epic Of Beowulf And The Anglo-Saxon Heros
Since the creation of man, there has been one thing that has always been consistent. That thing is the
yearning to acquire information and knowledge. For the majority of history, most people have not had
the privilege of being able to read. As a result, stories and information had to be passed down orally.
This is absolutely true when focusing on the history of the Anglo Saxons. The Anglo Saxons told
stories that were phantasmagoric and revolved around the concept of fate, also known as wyrd. There
is no piece of literature that accurately represents the Anglo Saxon way of telling stories that is better
than the epic of Beowulf. Beowulf is a story about a man who traveled from his motherland of
Geatland to Denmark which was being haunted by the demon Grendel. He ended up killing Grendel,
making Herot safe once again. He who had come to them from across the sea, bold and strong minded,
had driven affliction off, purged Herot clean [..] A prince of the Geats, had killed Grendel ended the
grief, the sorrow, the suffering forced on Hrothgar s helpless people by the bloodthirsty fiend. No
Dane doubted the victory, for the proof, hanging high from the rafters where Beowulf had hung it, was
the monster s Arm, claw and shoulder and all (Beowulf 825 836). After it had been discovered that
Beowulf had killed the demon, the Danes boasted about him and rewarded him with gifts. Soon after
the death of Grendel, another demon had been awakened and had revenge in mind. The

ENTP Personality
The purpose of this report is to analyze the components of an ENTP personality. Each letter represents
a personality type and these work together to give an explanation of my personality. I am the subject
of this report. What an extravert, intuition, thinking and perceiving types are, the domination in my
interactions with others, and how these types affect my work life will be illustrated. What I learn about
myself to become a better manager, co worker, and employee will be explored. The report concludes
that being an ENTP requires looking at situations through the eyes of others in order to be success due
to weaknesses in having a dominant personality and not being swayed by the emotions of others. Step

Kroeger, Thuesen, and Rutledge (2002) also concur that my thinking type will ascend me a

motivate people because this is a weakness for my type. I will be an effective manager if I am
successful in looking for the good in employees, rewarding their accomplishments, helping them work
through failures, and valuing each person and his or her contribution to the workforce (Kroeger,
Thuesen, Rutledge, 2002, p. 94). In addition to leadership, teamwork and goal setting are a part of

Alex Turner Interpretation
Do I Wanna Know? by the Arctic Monkeys is a song about a man who wants a girl back. The theme
that Alex Turner, the song s writer, could be trying to get across is that love is very difficult to let go
of. In the song, Turner writes Been wondering if your heart s still open and if so I wanna know what
time it shuts. These lyrics express his questions about the way she feels for him. Turner also
continually questions in the song Do I wanna know? , which really highlights the indecision he is
facing. He is afraid she doesn t feel the same way towards him and he doesn t want to hear that. The
chorus also contains the powerful lyrics: Ever thought of calling when you ve had a few?/ Cause I
always do (Turner). In this line he seems to explain

Evaluation Of Using A Protocol Adoption Of A Bundle Care...
A timeframe of about 6 month test of pilot will be completed to test the feasibility and efficacy of a
protocol adoption of a bundle care for the prevention of ventilator associated pneumonia. The VAP
bundle protocol guidelines will be used to determine quality management and reflective data audit for
all patients admitted in the intensive care unit with mechanical intubation within this 6 month trial
period. Evaluation is a systematic way of checking a project s information on the activities, and
characteristics in order to make a judgement of the project. Evaluation can help to give
recommendations to the project and improve by adapting the recommendations and improve future
projects. Evaluation gives managers considerable evidence to support the decision process with the
well documented analysis. Described methods used to evaluate effectiveness of proposed solution. In
order to attain excellence in patient care, latest evidence to support care is necessary, and the outcomes
of the care in nursing should show aspects of the process change (Frisch Kelley, 2002). The purpose of
an evaluation is to see if there is compliance with the intended change and measure the impact of the
process change. When doing evaluation it is important to engage the key stakeholders in the process.
In addition, working with the stakeholders to ensure that the training objectives align with the business
needs if of far great importance. Expectations of the training should also be in agreement

Your Brain Remembers Languages You Think You Forgot
Your Brain Remembers Languages You Think You Forgot Psychology continues making break
through revelations that explain and enlighten many cognitive pathways that are black boxes.
Everyone is fluent in at least one language, but as it continues to become popular, people are learning
languages left and right. Although toddlers do not start speaking before their first year, they begin
learning abstract language as early as the third trimester of pregnancy and are able to differentiate
languages. People with continuous exposure to a language outperform peers who have never been
exposed to it. But what about those who are removed from their environment and are never exposed to
the language again.
A recent study by Jiyoun Choi questioned ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Every experiment has limitations, in this study language can deter the results. The study does not
mention if any of the participants know any languages that may have similarities with Korean. If so,
could these known languages play an influence in learning Korean? For example, the romance
languages which include Spanish and French have many similar sounds and words that can be
comprehended by someone with only knowledge of one of these languages. The data can create a flaw
in this experiment as well. The contributors state that removing one adoptee that was an outlier
changed the correlation value from 0.36 to 0.062 (Choi, 2016). Could, then, removing all outliers or
measuring the medium rather than the mean provide drastically different results when comparing the
adoptees to the Dutch natives?
Media articles translate scientific papers into a simpler, shorter version that is easier for the population
to understand. A science magazine, Scientific American, published the article Your Brain Remembers
Languages You Think You Forgot to distribute the findings of Choi s research. Jane C. Hu, the author,

I Attended The Temple College Vocal Point Concert
I attended the Temple College Vocal Point concert on November 1, 2016 at 12:30 pm in the Jackson
Graeter Backstage Theatre. The Theatre, located in the Mary Alice Marshal Performing Arts Center, at
Temple College is small, seating approximately 100 people. Since the setting is quaint, it makes for a
personal experience, allowing the audience to truly see and hear the entertainers character. The stage
size also has a downside, at times the actors would trip over each other while dancing. The Vocal Point
concert titled From Rent to Now: The last 20 Years of Broadway: is directed by Dr. Sara Baker. This
Contemporary Broadway show consists of sixteen characters. It is a spoof on musicals. The opening
scene played by Trey Shonkwiler and Konnor Widmann was funny, and catchy. They sang A Musical
from Something Rotten! Shonkwiler is a Tenor, while Widmann is a Baritone. Together they made
beautiful harmonies, they complimented each other vocally, and as actors very well. The next song
Mama Who Bore Me from Spring Awakening was sung by all the women, with a soloist. Kristen
Garth has a lovely alto voice, her performance was unconfident, and a bit nervous, she had a few notes
that were flat, overall it was nice. There were a few moments where the background singers were too
loud, overpowering the soloist. When He Sees Me, from Waitress, sung by Kris Glorsorio was
wonderful. She has a beautiful Alto/ Mezzo voice. She connected wholly with her character, I thought

Building A Good Software Developer
Are you a young, first year IT student wondering what it takes to excel in the software development
industry? Or are you a software engineering veteran but somehow feel that you have reached a peak in
your skills...there is still room for improvement but don t know how to go about it? Are you
somewhere in between?
I believe that all software developers yearn to improve on their coding skills and come up with
beautifully written and rock solid applications. To do this however, one needs to be passionate about
the work. What do I mean? Do you enjoy spending long hours (including weekends and very late
nights) in front of you computer screen writing code and getting thrilled by what you can come up
with? If you do, keep reading, if not, maybe software development is not for you...seriously! One can
only reach their full potential at something if they are truly passionate about it.
Here are 7 steps I believe should be taken in order to become a good software developer.
1. Learn the basics
With all the new programming technologies that have sprung up in recent years, many beginner
programmers try to hop into everything at once instead of learning and understanding the basic
concepts, principles and fundamentals that are common to pretty much all languages; variables (their
naming conventions), if/else/switch statements, loops, booleans etc. The best way to do this is to select
one language and master the basics with it.
The programming language to start with is not of too

White House Construction
In order for Alexander Hamilton to get his assumption bill passed, he, James Madison, and Thomas
Jefferson made a deal known as the Compromise of 1790 which gave Hamilton the votes he needed to
pass his bill and Jefferson and Madison obtained the nation s capitol for the South and this is where
the White House would later be built. Before construction of the White House, though, the President
lived in the President s House in Philadelphia which was built in 1767 and served originally as home
to the Penn family, who founded Pennsylvania, and it was probably the largest home in all of
Philadelphia. This is where Washington spent his presidency and also where Adams spent the first 18
months of his presidency before moving to the White House. The architect who designed the White
House was Pierre Charles L Enfant in 1791 while designing the District of Columbia. He envisioned a
large mansion for the President which was five times larger than the building that was actually built. ...

changes over the years, one of the most important renovations being the Truman Restoration that
occurred from 1948 to 1952. Truman added a balcony branching off the second story of the South
Portico and, shortly after this, the main building was found by architects to be structurally unsound,
leaving the old interior to be dismantled and rebuilt with concrete and steel instead of wood. Some
small modifications were made as well during this time, such as adding bathrooms to each bedroom
and repositioning the main staircase to the Entrance Hall instead of the Cross

Gabriel Garcia Marquez s The Autumn Of The Patriarch
The Autumn of the Patriarch is a novel by Colombian author Gabriel Garcia Marquez, first published
in 1975. Divided into six sections, each one retells a similar story of a Caribbean dictator and his hold
on power until the inevitable revolution comes for him. Marquez has described the book as A poem on
the solitude of power , and paints the lead character as an eternal dictator doomed to the same terrible
cycle of power and fall over and over again. Although different circumstances bring him to power
each time, he and the dictator he replaces always become one and the same. Marquez based the
fictional dictator on many real world figures, including Colombian dictator Gustavo Rojas Pinilla and
Spain s Generalissimo Francisco Franco, who was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

out of control, and his brutality threatens the General s regime. He turns to a populist approach, styling
himself as a General of the people. A mob rises up and Jose is killed in the riots. The General
surrounds himself with new civilian advisors, and by now is very old. He only rarely involves himself
with government affairs now, and his regime leaves him alone to play sexual games with whoever is
brought to the palace, including schoolgirls. The country is nearly broke, and he s forced to sell their
holdings in the Caribbean Sea. At the end of his life, he becomes increasingly irrelevant, only noted
when he commits a random crime against a random person. When he dies, a mob invades the palace,
and the country celebrates the ending of the era of the dictator.
Gabriel Garcia Marquez was a Colombian novelist, short story writer, screenwriter and journalist,
considered one of the greatest Spanish language writers of all time. The winner of the 1972 Neustadt
International Prize for Literature and the 1982 Nobel Prize in Literature, he was the author of six
novels, five novellas, seven short story collections, and eight works of nonfiction, as well as writing

The Problem Of Medical Benefits
In animal and human cloning alike, arguments over ethicality boil down to a matter of medical
benefits versus moral concerns. Governmental and social groups are split by the benefits of
therapeutic, reproductive, and molecular cloning, which bring their own moral rewards in the
preservation of life, and the grey areas cloning brings on matters of protection of morals and
individuality. Through cloning technology, medical science will learn to renew activity of damaged
cells by growing new cells and replacing them, yet concerns are raised over the possibility of
compromising individualities or violating the rights of the cell. Cloning gives the capability to create
humans with identical genetic makeup to act as organ donors for each other, ... Show more content on

As of now, there are three types of cloning, each with their own potentials and moral arguments
against. Molecular cloning, also known as recombinant DNA technology, DNA cloning, and gene
cloning , entails the transfer of DNA from an organism to a self replicating genetic element such as a
bacterial plasmid. A bacterial plasmid is a small DNA molecule within a cell that is separated from a
chromosomal DNA and can replicate independently. The DNA of interest can then be cultivated in a
foreign host cell. This technology has been around since the 1970s, and has become a common
practice in molecular biology labs today. Molecular cloning provides scientists with an essentially
unlimited quantity of any individual DNA segments derived from any genome. As molecular cloning
does not go beyond a molecular level or involve stem cells, there is little that is morally reprehensible
about it, and is left alone. Stem cells are a major concern for activist groups in that stem cells come
from embryos that are three to five days old. At this stage, an embryo is called a blastocyst and has
about 150 cells, which can divide into more stem cells or can become any type of cell in the body.
Therapeutic cloning, which is the production of human embryos for use in research, becomes more of
an ethical issue in its use of embryonic stem cells. The

Drunk Driving Essay
Worldwide, 1.2 million people are killed and 50 million people are injured yearly from traffic
accidents, costing around $500 billion dollars, forty percent of the accidents involve alcohol impaired
drivers (Wu, 2016). Many people drive while under the influence of alcohol because they do not see
the risk of getting into an accident or potentially injuring someone. They only see the convenience of
not leaving their car somewhere or purchasing a driving service. Driving while under the influence of
alcohol has a negative impact on society. Drunk driving is detrimental to families, studies show that it
takes human life, and has a legal punishment. When a drunk driver gets into an accident, they are not

Twenty eight people in the United States are killed in traffic accidents that include a drunk driver
every day which adds up to approximately one death every 51 minutes ( Motor Vehicle , 2017). There
is a devastating amount of human life taken by accidents involving a drunk driver. Due to a selfish and
quick decision, so many people with futures, goals, and aspirations have died. In 2015, 10,265 people
died in alcohol impaired driving crashes, accounting for nearly one third (29%) of all traffic related
deaths in the United States ( Motor Vehicle , 2017, p. 1). The impact on human life is calamitous and
needs to be addressed.
Drunk driving also impacts people legally. Specifically, in WA BAC measured above 0.08 is
considered a DUI while a BAC above 0.15 is considered an aggravated DUI, or a DUI that results in
higher fines, increased jail time, and a longer license suspension period (Hansen, 2014, p. 1582),
however, the punishment varies from state to state. The punishment when caught drunk driving is
extortionate, reasonably so, but some are never caught before it is too late. Although it may seem
easier at times or from a thoughtless decision, the legal punishment along with all the risks make
drunk driving s consequences severe. It is likely that many drunk drivers will be caught by law
enforcement because they look for indicators such as erratic driving so that they can stop accidents
from happening. However, they cannot catch

Importance Of Sex Education
Sex education provides information on sex, bodily development, sexuality, and aids in the making of
informed decisions in relationships regarding sex. Sex is human nature, yet it is still censored heavily
especially to adolescents who are developing and approaching the stage of puberty. Sex education is
about creating awareness and knowledge for those who are confused or have never been talked to
about human development and reproduction. Sex education should not be censored in schools; rather
it should be taught accordingly to help prevent unhealthy sexual relationships and understand body
changes as they age.
First, parents tend to avoid discussing sex and puberty with their children and still wonder why there
are many adolescents who have unprotected sex at a young age. From personal experience, my parents
always tried avoiding questions like How are babies brought to life? and What is a period? . They
would shrug and say I will learn in school. Though, these sensitive topics were never really covered in
school. Of course, we had the basic sexual education classes that talked about girls getting their
periods, sex protection, infections and diseases, but certain information was still banned. For example,
both men and women genital areas were censored. What I do not understand is why that type of
information is censored. It is part of life and is something everybody will eventually see as they start
having intimate relationships. In addition, it is important for both

when I awaken, and unable to manage through the day, and although I may be in bed for eight hours,
the deep sleep is not longer than five hours. The resulting lack of sleep and recall ability can create
susceptibility to forgetting, and the inability to have a working memory. The four components of

Power And Corruption In A Tale Of Two Cities
Throughout all of human history, many influential beings have exploited varying forms of human
nature s prominence, as well as its true darkness. There have been many cases to humans acting out of
pure righteousness by standing by and supporting their true and sincere morals, whereas others have
revealed the deep evil within us through acts of brutality, savagery, or manipulation. Percy Bysshe
Shelley one wrote, Power, like a desolating pestilence, Pollutes whate er it touches . This quote
expresses Shelley s opinion that power does not come without corruption. I support Shelley s assertion
because her belief can be proven not only through examples from the book, A Tale of Two Cities , but

On the other hand, however, those who were consumed by the corruption possessed weaker minds
with not as righteous morals. One may conclude that, because humans are not born with immediate
mental fortitude, it may be a part of human nature to be corrupted by power. In Charles Dickens
famous novel, A Tale of Two Cities , many situations that have involved corruption through power
revolved around an individual that uses that power for a selfish reason, such as entertainment or
revenge. An example of this would be when the Marquis of France abused their royal titles. By having
a high rank in the social class, the Marquis used their titles to live lives of luxury while the rest of
society suffered in extreme poverty. This example from the book depicts a darker characteristic of
selfishness in human nature, which contributes to

Pay Gap Statement
Introduction
Outline/Description of Problem: The pay gap between men and women has become quite a topic
today. The difference in pay are very common now in many career paths where men and women are
doing the same work amount. It is rare to think that when men and women are performing the same
task and are just as qualified as each other that they would get paid the same.
Introduction to Controversy: As the wage gap is being discussed more, the question is why do men
and women have different wages when they are working the same job. While it seems that men don t
have to take as much time off from work or may work more, we have to look at it from Women s
viewpoints also.

Support #1 (opposing viewpoint): Many people will say that women s pay is not a huge difference to
men s pay, they just make a few more cents. However, this may be true but the few cents can add up to
a few extra dollars. No one ever realizes how much just a few cents will make a difference, it can buy
you a few extra groceries, give you more gas or allow you to go see a movie on a day off. Just because
a few cents may not be a lot to you does not mean it may not be a lot to a single mom.
Explanation #1 (negation): Men and women need to both start off with the starting pay of what their
job is and as they grow at their position reward the with the pay that they deserve, not they pay that
they are given due to a study done on a handful of women. Some men may not deserve to be paid

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Cooperatives
14.31 Workers co operatives
In large public companies, management and ownership are separate. By contrast, in workers co
operatives employees will have contributed towards the capital of the organisation and may elect
managers at annual meetings.
The advantage of workers co operatives is that all workers can take part in discussions regarding their
firm. Therefore, there is a strong incentive for workers to work harder and increase profitability if they
anticipate receiving higher dividends from their shares.
Another advantage is that taking part in the decision‐making process helps to motivate workers.
However if the co operative becomes bankrupt then the workers will lose both their jobs and the value
of their shares. It may then be difficult to persuade employees to put more capital into the business.
The objectives of co operatives are usually to provide goods and services to consumers at reasonable
prices and to pay fair wages to the workers.
Whilst there have been workers co operatives for a considerable time there has been a noticeable
increase in their number in recent years. Many ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In order to avoid people having shares in order to pay the advantages of windfalls, the Nationwide
Building society, which is the largest, has a clause that new shareholders i.e. almost anyone who has

clause was otherwise, since there is one member one vote so called carpetbaggers would have small

The Philosophies Of Athenian Democracy
The Greeks have defined democracy in its purest and simplest form as rule by the people. Today,
many governments have converted to the democratic system, but one notable example of a democratic
society is the city state of Athens; which is also the birthplace of democracy. This way of ruling of, by,
and for the people was so effective that it set the foundations for the democracies we see today.
Although Athenian democracy was essentially the stepping stones to the democratic society we have
today; there were some major discrepancies such as their political structure, their restrictions on what
constitutes a citizen, and their philosophies regarding war.
The Athenians political structure is one of the most significant contributions they made to democracy.
They formed three political bodies supposing that it would keep things orderly, and in their eyes, fair.
Their three political bodies consisted first of the assembly, or Ekklesia. The Ekklesia were responsible
for making ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Based on the evidence stated above, from the Athenian point of view, their political structure was
democratic. However, it seems as though that their interpretation of democracy was only democratic
among those who had political rights and were able to contribute to politics in general. When a vast
portion of a state is excluded from politics, it does not seem very democratic. War also defies all
principles on being a free, democratic state. The Athenian way of voting on issues was probably the
most truly democratic principle they demonstrated because every citizen who was able to participate
had a say. The Athenian s view on democracy could have reached a higher potential if their system
had fully utilized the skills of all its residents; such as the women, the poor, resident aliens, and slaves;
as well as adopt a more egalitarian philosophy when it came to their political bodies and their stance

The Evolution Of The Homo
Our homo ancestors date back to about 2.5 million years ago. Classification of the genus Homo into
species and subspecies remains poorly defined and subject to incomplete information, leading to
difficulties in binomial naming, and the use of common names, such as Neanderthal and Denisovan .
With that being said, many people get a misunderstanding when discussing our homo ancestors. The
biggest issue is knowing what a species are actually apart of the genus homo and who isn t. Several
species, including Australopithecus garhi, Australopithecus sediba, Australopithecus africanus, and
Australopithecus afarensis, have been proposed as the direct ancestor of the Homo lineage. These
species have morphological features that align them with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Homo habilis had smaller molars and larger brains than the australopithecines, and made tools from
stone and perhaps animal bones. One of the first known hominids, it was nicknamed handy man by
discoverer Louis Leakey due to its association with stone tools. Some scientists have proposed moving
this species out of Homo and into Australopithecus due to the morphology of its skeleton being more
adapted to living on trees rather than to moving on two legs like Homo sapiens. Homo rudolfensis
findings in Kenya have been suggested to be Homo habilis, but scientists are unsure. The fossils found
from these two species are said to be from about 1.8 million years ago.
Homo georgicus, named after the country Georgia, is said to possibly be an intermediate form
between Homo erectus and Homo habilis or a sub species of Homo erectus.
Homo erectus lived from about 1.8 million to about 70,000 years ago. Many scientist believe that the
early stages of erectus, about 1.8 to 1.2 million years ago, is a separate species called Homo ergaster,
seen as a sub species of erectus. In the early Pleistocene, 1.5 1 Ma, in Africa some populations of
Homo habilis are thought to have evolved more complex brains and made more elaborate stone tools;
these differences and others are sufficient for anthropologists to classify them as a new species, Homo
erectus.
The next two species are said to be a mix between Homo

Voter Turnout In The United States
Voter participation and turnout is the percentage of eligible voters that vote in elections. The voter
turnout has decreased since the 1960 s. In 2014, the voter turnout during the election season was the
lowest in the history of the United States. That s about 36% of registered to vote individuals actually
voted. Far behind the last time we had the lowest turnout which was almost 40% in 1942. Presidential
elections tend to have a much higher voter participation. In 2012, 58% of registered voters cast their
ballot for president.
In the United States, campaign financing is financing for electoral campaigns at all governmental
levels (federal, state, and local). The cost for elections steadily rises year after year, making candidates
obligated to accept donations and contributions to their campaign. States regulate finances and
contributions made by setting limits to how much can be received by a certain group or individual
person. Another is disclosure, which means they are required to report the amount of contributions
made. Lastly, public financing in elections; meaning that states manage expenses in elections and

I do not think that elections should solely be financed by tax dollars, I feel there are more important
things that our tax dollars should be spent on. Some examples of what I mean by more important
things are: financing the military, financing non profit organizations like the American Red Cross,
money for social security and Medicare, educations, transportation, etc. If a candidate wants to win an

With the high pace of modernization since the 20th Century, people tend to be mechanized into living

cultural capital to explicate the cultural asserts available within society. As provided with unique

code of behavior. The subcultural capital not only differentiated from the widely accepted popular
culture , but also discriminated themselves from the high culture as well. Hebdige (1976) has argued
that subcultural knowledge often include class consciousness. As a matter of fact, the assertion of
subcultural distinction partly bases on the ideal of classlessness (Thornton, 1995). Storey also points
out that the class divides indeed exist between the subculture and the elite culture (Forgan, 2002).
Opposite from the high culture, which is often appeal to the taste of the elite class, the subcultural
capital is always less class bound and concerned more about the interests of lower class. Therefore, it
shapes people s dispositions against the dominate stereotypes, such as class, gender and religion. As
an illustration, the punks can come from all works of life and the diversity help to develop the punk
tastes and contributes to the accumulation of subcultural capital, these tastes may give a guide to
punks preference. In this way, the subcultural capital assists to develop its uniqueness.
Last but not the least, the subcultural capital singularise the culture through practice on the subcultural
production, which mainly are the music, fashion, art and literature. The subculture always identified

What Does I Believe Mean
I believe in love, justice, friendship, and God. In fact, I am aware that I am not the only one who
believes in things, ideas, perspectives, etc. such as my own beliefs. People have all kinds of beliefs
today. In a class such as Humanities 450 where students, including myself, study world religions and
cultural beliefs, especially in southern Louisiana, I hear the term believe used very often. However,
what does the word believe mean or imply, or what do most individuals mean when they say the
phrase I believe ... ? Like one individual states, Beliefs are the core of who [people] ... are, what ...

One example is the connection between the use and meaning of believe in the Bible and the use and
meaning of it in earlier times. In fact, I think the original meaning of the word believe makes more
sense and has more depth to it. Reading about this in Karen Armstrong s book actually made me think
of how it might be to study words and their meanings like believe and belief . I always knew that the
word believe had a deeper implication than just agreeing to something. More importantly, studying
some on the etymology and evolution of believe has allowed me to understand scholars and
theologians better. A few years ago, I heard a statement that relates to the original intention of the
word believe. From a response online, it stated that ... [An individual] do[es] what [one] ... believe[s,]
and ... [an individual] believe[s] what ... [one] do[es] ( You Do What You ... ). This statement shows
how strong the meaning of the word believe is and the whole purpose of believing anything. Not only
that but it also resonates with the original meaning of believe, explaining that whatever a person
believes, that is what the persons acts on or is shaped by. Overall, I do not believe that the word
believe has lost its intended meaning. In fact, many of us have probably heard it used in

How Does Social Media Have A Negative Effect On Body Image
As Theodore Roosevelt once said, Comparison is the thief of joy. Many women and men often find
themselves obsessed with comparison to others. People often look at themselves in the mirror and
think that they are not good enough, and that they are not pretty or skinny. Social media plays a huge
role in this. Celebrities photos can be so fake and edited on social media to the point where the photo
does not even look like them. Young women and girls spend so much time on social media and this is
all they see. It is no wonder that their self esteem is so low. They are looking at pictures of unrealistic
bodies for hours and hours on end. A recent poll by CNN stated that, Thirty five percent of young
women and girls, are worried about other ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some people always look in the mirror and think they look bad or ugly. They may do this because they
spend hours and hours on end looking at pictures that are very much fake and photoshopped. Many
people may compare themselves to other celebrities and people. Social media is the main cause of
this. There are no positives to comparing yourself with others. Comparing yourself with others will
lead to either an inferiority complex or a superiority complex. Both of which will have a negative
effect on your self improvement in the long run (Selvam). When young girls are spending the majority
of their day on social media and they are looking at these pictures they do not know any better and are
of course going to compare themselves to others. The young women might not even be looking at real
pictures of people instead photoshopped and unrealistic bodies. Us teens believe it or not, can
sometimes be like monkeys. We would much rather have something sweet than a boring vegetable.
That something sweet could be having a hot or sexy body. Rather than a have a boring and ugly body

Accuracy of results
There is always some degree of inaccuracy in any experiment. I think that there were several factors in
my experiment that made the results slightly inaccurate. These were;
#61623; The time taken to place the bung on the flask – This let out a small amount of carbon dioxide
into the atmosphere instead of the gas syringe.
#61623; Weighing and measuring inaccuracy s – The weighing of the marble chips will always be
slightly inaccurate due to the scales inaccuracy. This is the same with the measuring of acid.
#61623; The size of the marble chips – The size of the marble chips was not always the same, some
were larger or smaller than others. This would have made for a slight inaccuracy.
Reliability
No significant problems or difficulties were encountered when carrying out this experiment. The
accuracy and reliability of the results and conclusions are very good. Even though I have outlined the
inaccuracy s of the experiment, these are only t be expected and do not have much impact on the
overall conclusion.
Improvements
The procedure used was simple and straightforward and not many difficulties were encountered. One
difficulty was that the gas syringe was subject to humidity which made the syringe move not as
smoothly as it would have otherwise. A small improvement could be

This paper will define the treatment of prisons within the United States, Central America and Africa, it
will explain how many of these countries human rights and due process are violated within the
correctional system, it will further exam how inmates under the supervision of correctional staff treat
inmates while they are incarcerated by not allowing them the due process that they are required to
have. Finally, this paper will also analyze cruel and unusual punishment these inmates receive while
under the supervision of correctional staff.

The Importance Of Animals In Zoos
Imagine yourself just chilling around in the wild, the only place you are familiar with, and the next
thing you know, you get taken and put inside a small enclosure which becomes your home. Well, that
is what animals who are taken out of the wild and mostly put inside a zoo feel like. Animals can
receive serious health issues when kept in a zoo, most of the times not treated properly and used for
entertainment rather than educational purposes. I believe that this is an urgent issue and I think that it
is essential for wild animals to stay in the wild and not kept in enclosures.
I believe that animals should not be in zoos because animals will have a high chance of developing a
health issue. Animals, especially Elephants, are not used to being by themselves or in small groups. In
the wild, they usually stay in a pack of 30 or even 40. This can cause animals to feel lonely and bored
without being with their pack. Also, animals are not used to the environment that they are set in. Yes,
yes I know that it can be extremely hard for zoos to remake the natural environment that animals are
usually in, but won t it be much easier for the zoo to remake the wild if they just left the animals back
in the wild? Animals in captivity actually start to develop this health issue named Zoochosis. In 1992,
Bill Travers first used the term Zoochosis to describe an obsessive, repetitive behavior and described
zoo animals behaving strangely as Zoochotic . Behaviors that are symptomatic of

William Blake (1757 1827) led a relatively happy life. At an early age, he claimed that he could see
God, Angels, and other important Italian figures. Blake s parents encouraged him to keep a record of
all the masters he claimed to keep in contact with. Blake s father, James Blake, gave him casts and

Drawing School. Three years later, he was apprenticed to a Master Engraver, James Basire. Blake
worked with Basire for seven years, and then attended the Royal Academy School to further his study

allowed off from work, they went home to abusive families or foster homes. Business owners claimed
that putting them to work, the children were able to care for themselves, and their poor families. Still,
many thought that the hours and dangers heavily outweighed the value of a few coins. Blake was not

Compare And Contrast All In The Family
1.) How is this TV show different from shows of today? How is it similar?
All in the Family differs from show of today in many ways. The many derogatory and racist terms,
used primarily by Archie Bunker, would not be able to said in a script for a modern day television
show. Words and terms used to describe people of any non American race or people in general would
be seen as non politically correct. The common racism theme throughout the show would degrade the
idea of American equality, which is a vital necessity in our growing nation. The show also mocked
religion, referring to a burning cross and roasting marshmallows over it. This kind of comment would
create a national eruption of offended individuals. Today s television shows are reviewed to portray a
politically correct message, or a decline in reputation will occur for anyone involved with the show.
While All in the Family greatly differs from modern American television shows, it also contains some
similarities. The show portrayed an overall theme of how people talked and acted in their daily lives
compared to a fictional or dramatized movie or television show. In the 1971 show premier, racial
inequality was a common theme in American society. The way Archie talked about others, and even
the disrespect to his son in law and mocking of his wife, was common. This slang was honest and
normal to the Bunkers, which showed real world issues with racism and family interaction. Many real

Financial Sectors Of The Indian Economy Essay
1.1 INDUSTRY PROFILE
Financial sectors all over the world is going through the process of transformation such as,
liberalization, technological innovations and deregulation. The evolving financial system in India has
been interlinked with the growth of the macro economics. This change allows financial institutions to
bring in assortment of new product and services into the economy. Financial institutions play a

Important Factors That Affect Plant Growth And Development...
3.1 Introduction
Chamomile and yarrow are both medicinal plants cultivated all over the world in an effort to
determine the main active compounds from plant materials. The main factors that influence plant
growth and development are temperature, light, and plant date. An extensive amount of studies have
been done on the effect of controlled conditions on the growth of in vitro and in vivo chamomile and
yarrow cultures (Giorgi et al., 2014; Mohammad et al., 2010).
Date of planting and ages of seedling had significant effects on chamomile morphological
characterizations. The maximum values for plant spread, plant height, and shoots produced, number of
branches production and the diameter of flower heads was observed from 15th April compared to 1st
May, 15th May and 30th May. Nevertheless, all measurement characteristics were not significantly
affected by the ages of seedling except for, plant spread and plant height at transplanting. The highest
plant spreads were obtained after 30 days of seedlings, whereas the maximum plant heights were
examined after 90 days of seedlings (Mohammad et al., 2010).
On the other hand, growing season and light environment were two factors which strongly affected all
growth parameters of yarrow during different growing seasons. The fresh and dry weight of stem/leaf
ratio, the leaves and the fresh weight of inflorescence were mainly influenced by light conditions
(Giorgi et al., 2014). The greatest development of leaves, stem/leaf ratio and

ARC303 Urban (Hi)Stories Berlin in Twentieth Century: Politics and Culture An Urban (Hi)Stories
about Voids Introduction: Berlin as Void In an official advertisement campaign of 1996, there was a
slogan written all over the city: Berlin wird (Berlin becomes). But Berlin becomes what ? Instead of a
proper predicate, we get a verbal void. In the worst scenario, as Karl Scheffler wrote at the end of his
classic 1910 portrait of the city, Berlin may forever to become and never to be. The twentieth century
urban history of Berlin was largely associated with the concept of voids. The voids that were created

This city s history has been written, erased, and rewritten throughout this violent century. Its legibility
relies as much on visible markers of built space as on images and memories repressed and ruptured by
traumatic events. At the start of the Twentieth century, Berlin s future would have followed a
completely different direction. In Walter Ruttmann s 1927 film Berlin: Symphony of a Metropolis, the
editing draws a large amount of the graphic and thematic parallels of a different group of people s
routine working life, people with machines or people and animals throughout the city. It shows a
highly lawful social condition. Even the conflicts and movements shown throughout the film are
coordinated in rhythmic and systematic order, forming a harmonious symphony about the
metropolitan. (Fig.1) This scene of flourishing united urban environment in the Weimar Republic

politics was only about to begin. (Fig.2,

Telehealth Technology In Healthcare
Telehealth is a newer form of healthcare that is presenting a positive impact on patients health and on
healthcare costs. Telehealth covers a range of technology from mobile device use to physician to
physician or physician to patient consults through video to assessing a patient physically who is in a
different state or country. This type of technology is becoming an acceptable form of healthcare for
patients, providers and insurers. Telehealth is improving the outcomes for patients while decreasing
the costs of healthcare. Physician offices as well as hospitals are diving deeper into this type of care.
The ability to monitor patients remotely saves time and money for the patient but also decreases visits

  • 2. How To Write A Rhetorical Analysis Of Shooting An Elephant Introduction: Shooting an Elephant is an exposition composed by George Orwell. It was first distributed in the artistic magazine New Writing in late 1936 and communicate by the BBC Home Service on 12 October 1948. George Orwell was an English author, writer, columnist, and commentator. His exposition depicts the experience of the English storyteller, conceivably Orwell himself, called upon to shoot a forceful elephant while acting as a cop in Burma. Statement of the Problem: In the paper, the essayist don t endeavor to murder the elephant Orwell, realizing that the elephant is most likely no longer unsafe, has no aim of shooting the elephant. In spite of Orwell s abhorrence for shooting the elephant, he turns out to be all of a sudden mindful ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He is eased, he concedes, that the coolie kicked the bucket, since it gave him an affection for shooting the elephant. To the extent his kindred officers are concerned, he made the best decision. To the extent the locals are concerned, he concealed any hint of failure confront. However Orwell finishes up, I regularly pondered whether any of the others got a handle on that I had done it exclusively to abstain from looking a trick. Orwell can better comprehend government through his run in with the elephant on the grounds that the elephant fills in as an image of imperialism. For instance, much like the Burmese who have been colonized and who mishandle Orwell, the elephant has been incited to dangerous conduct by being mistreated. While its ruinous conduct, and the Burmese more unobtrusive insubordination may not be unequivocally great things, they are made reasonable given the harsh conditions both the elephant and the Burmese have needed to persevere. ... The Plains Indians have been scammed of their land through government actions and Americans, due to the technological advances that occurred during the late nineteenth century. The lives of the Plain Indians were affected by the technological and political advances issued by the United States Government and the entrepreneurs of the late nineteenth century. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The two main actions that the United States government issued towards the Plains Indians were the Homestead Act and the Dawes Act. The Homestead Act correlated with the trend of Manifest Destiny and encouraged settlers to migrate west. The Homestead Act encouraged western migration by providing 160 acres of public land. In exchange, homesteaders paid a small filing fee and were required to complete five years of continuous residence before receiving ownership of the land. After six months of residency, homesteaders also had the option of purchasing the land from the government for roughly $1.25 per acre. (Primary Documents in American History) The land that the government was distributing belonged to various tribes of the Plains Indians. By having the Homestead Act in effect and encouraging settlers to migrate west, Plains Indians were forced into reservations. The real impact of Manifest Destiny was that it sent many settlers west, without realizing that the settlers were taking land from the Indians. The Indians that lived in the reservations had just enough food to keep their population alive, as well as living in unsanitary conditions with bacteria and diseases everywhere. The two options that the Indians had was to either live in the reservations with little to no food or to face genocide. Some Indian tribes tried to make amends with American troops who ushered the natives to reservations, but some American troops turned on the Indians. One incident of the American troops killing Indians was the Nez Perce war. This war was over a conflict of land and how some US troops did not agree on the settlement of the land. The war resulted in over 100 casualties towards the Indians and was stated as a genocide of and Indian tribe. The second act that was passed by the United States government was the Dawes Act. • 4. The Epic Of Beowulf And The Anglo-Saxon Heros Since the creation of man, there has been one thing that has always been consistent. That thing is the yearning to acquire information and knowledge. For the majority of history, most people have not had the privilege of being able to read. As a result, stories and information had to be passed down orally. This is absolutely true when focusing on the history of the Anglo Saxons. The Anglo Saxons told stories that were phantasmagoric and revolved around the concept of fate, also known as wyrd. There is no piece of literature that accurately represents the Anglo Saxon way of telling stories that is better than the epic of Beowulf. Beowulf is a story about a man who traveled from his motherland of Geatland to Denmark which was being haunted by the demon Grendel. He ended up killing Grendel, making Herot safe once again. He who had come to them from across the sea, bold and strong minded, had driven affliction off, purged Herot clean [..] A prince of the Geats, had killed Grendel ended the grief, the sorrow, the suffering forced on Hrothgar s helpless people by the bloodthirsty fiend. No Dane doubted the victory, for the proof, hanging high from the rafters where Beowulf had hung it, was the monster s Arm, claw and shoulder and all (Beowulf 825 836). After it had been discovered that Beowulf had killed the demon, the Danes boasted about him and rewarded him with gifts. Soon after the death of Grendel, another demon had been awakened and had revenge in mind. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The theme that Alex Turner, the song s writer, could be trying to get across is that love is very difficult to let go of. In the song, Turner writes Been wondering if your heart s still open and if so I wanna know what time it shuts. These lyrics express his questions about the way she feels for him. Turner also continually questions in the song Do I wanna know? , which really highlights the indecision he is facing. He is afraid she doesn t feel the same way towards him and he doesn t want to hear that. Evaluation can help to give recommendations to the project and improve by adapting the recommendations and improve future projects. Evaluation gives managers considerable evidence to support the decision process with the well documented analysis. Described methods used to evaluate effectiveness of proposed solution. In order to attain excellence in patient care, latest evidence to support care is necessary, and the outcomes of the care in nursing should show aspects of the process change (Frisch Kelley, 2002). The purpose of an evaluation is to see if there is compliance with the intended change and measure the impact of the process change. The Theatre, located in the Mary Alice Marshal Performing Arts Center, at Temple College is small, seating approximately 100 people. Since the setting is quaint, it makes for a personal experience, allowing the audience to truly see and hear the entertainers character. The stage size also has a downside, at times the actors would trip over each other while dancing. The Vocal Point concert titled From Rent to Now: The last 20 Years of Broadway: is directed by Dr. Sara Baker. This Contemporary Broadway show consists of sixteen characters. It is a spoof on musicals. The opening scene played by Trey Shonkwiler and Konnor Widmann was funny, and catchy. They sang A Musical from Something Rotten! Shonkwiler is a Tenor, while Widmann is a Baritone. Together they made beautiful harmonies, they complimented each other vocally, and as actors very well. The next song Mama Who Bore Me from Spring Awakening was sung by all the women, with a soloist. Kristen Garth has a lovely alto voice, her performance was unconfident, and a bit nervous, she had a few notes that were flat, overall it was nice. Or are you a software engineering veteran but somehow feel that you have reached a peak in your skills...there is still room for improvement but don t know how to go about it? Are you somewhere in between? I believe that all software developers yearn to improve on their coding skills and come up with beautifully written and rock solid applications. To do this however, one needs to be passionate about the work. What do I mean? Do you enjoy spending long hours (including weekends and very late nights) in front of you computer screen writing code and getting thrilled by what you can come up with? If you do, keep reading, if not, maybe software development is not for you...seriously! One can only reach their full potential at something if they are truly passionate about it. Here are 7 steps I believe should be taken in order to become a good software developer. 1. As of now, there are three types of cloning, each with their own potentials and moral arguments against. Molecular cloning, also known as recombinant DNA technology, DNA cloning, and gene cloning , entails the transfer of DNA from an organism to a self replicating genetic element such as a bacterial plasmid. A bacterial plasmid is a small DNA molecule within a cell that is separated from a chromosomal DNA and can replicate independently. The DNA of interest can then be cultivated in a foreign host cell. This technology has been around since the 1970s, and has become a common practice in molecular biology labs today. Molecular cloning provides scientists with an essentially unlimited quantity of any individual DNA segments derived from any genome. As molecular cloning does not go beyond a molecular level or involve stem cells, there is little that is morally reprehensible about it, and is left alone. Stem cells are a major concern for activist groups in that stem cells come from embryos that are three to five days old. At this stage, an embryo is called a blastocyst and has about 150 cells, which can divide into more stem cells or can become any type of cell in the body. Therapeutic cloning, which is the production of human embryos for use in research, becomes more of an ethical issue in its use of embryonic stem cells. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In 2015, 10,265 people died in alcohol impaired driving crashes, accounting for nearly one third (29%) of all traffic related deaths in the United States ( Motor Vehicle , 2017, p. 1). The punishment when caught drunk driving is extortionate, reasonably so, but some are never caught before it is too late. Therefore, there is a strong incentive for workers to work harder and increase profitability if they anticipate receiving higher dividends from their shares. Another advantage is that taking part in the decision‐making process helps to motivate workers. Although Athenian democracy was essentially the stepping stones to the democratic society we have today; there were some major discrepancies such as their political structure, their restrictions on what constitutes a citizen, and their philosophies regarding war. As a matter of fact, the assertion of subcultural distinction partly bases on the ideal of classlessness (Thornton, 1995). Storey also points out that the class divides indeed exist between the subculture and the elite culture (Forgan, 2002). Opposite from the high culture, which is often appeal to the taste of the elite class, the subcultural capital is always less class bound and concerned more about the interests of lower class. Therefore, it shapes people s dispositions against the dominate stereotypes, such as class, gender and religion. As an illustration, the punks can come from all works of life and the diversity help to develop the punk tastes and contributes to the accumulation of subcultural capital, these tastes may give a guide to punks preference. In this way, the subcultural capital assists to develop its uniqueness. Last but not the least, the subcultural capital singularise the culture through practice on the subcultural production, which mainly are the music, fashion, art and literature. I always knew that the word believe had a deeper implication than just agreeing to something. More importantly, studying some on the etymology and evolution of believe has allowed me to understand scholars and theologians better. Many women and men often find themselves obsessed with comparison to others. People often look at themselves in the mirror and think that they are not good enough, and that they are not pretty or skinny. Social media plays a huge role in this. Celebrities photos can be so fake and edited on social media to the point where the photo does not even look like them. Young women and girls spend so much time on social media and this is all they see. It is no wonder that their self esteem is so low. • 34. The Importance Of Animals In Zoos Imagine yourself just chilling around in the wild, the only place you are familiar with, and the next thing you know, you get taken and put inside a small enclosure which becomes your home. Well, that is what animals who are taken out of the wild and mostly put inside a zoo feel like. Animals can receive serious health issues when kept in a zoo, most of the times not treated properly and used for entertainment rather than educational purposes. I believe that this is an urgent issue and I think that it is essential for wild animals to stay in the wild and not kept in enclosures. I believe that animals should not be in zoos because animals will have a high chance of developing a health issue. Animals, especially Elephants, are not used to being by themselves or in small groups. In the wild, they usually stay in a pack of 30 or even 40. This can cause animals to feel lonely and bored without being with their pack. Also, animals are not used to the environment that they are set in. Yes, yes I know that it can be extremely hard for zoos to remake the natural environment that animals are usually in, but won t it be much easier for the zoo to remake the wild if they just left the animals back in the wild? Animals in captivity actually start to develop this health issue named Zoochosis. In 1992, Bill Travers first used the term Zoochosis to describe an obsessive, repetitive behavior and described zoo animals behaving strangely as Zoochotic . Behaviors that are symptomatic of ... • 37. Compare And Contrast All In The Family 1.) How is this TV show different from shows of today? How is it similar? All in the Family differs from show of today in many ways. The many derogatory and racist terms, used primarily by Archie Bunker, would not be able to said in a script for a modern day television show. Words and terms used to describe people of any non American race or people in general would be seen as non politically correct. The common racism theme throughout the show would degrade the idea of American equality, which is a vital necessity in our growing nation. The show also mocked religion, referring to a burning cross and roasting marshmallows over it. This kind of comment would create a national eruption of offended individuals. Today s television shows are reviewed to portray a politically correct message, or a decline in reputation will occur for anyone involved with the show. While All in the Family greatly differs from modern American television shows, it also contains some similarities. The show portrayed an overall theme of how people talked and acted in their daily lives compared to a fictional or dramatized movie or television show. In the 1971 show premier, racial inequality was a common theme in American society. The way Archie talked about others, and even the disrespect to his son in law and mocking of his wife, was common. • 39. Important Factors That Affect Plant Growth And Development... 3.1 Introduction Chamomile and yarrow are both medicinal plants cultivated all over the world in an effort to determine the main active compounds from plant materials. The main factors that influence plant growth and development are temperature, light, and plant date. An extensive amount of studies have been done on the effect of controlled conditions on the growth of in vitro and in vivo chamomile and yarrow cultures (Giorgi et al., 2014; Mohammad et al., 2010). Date of planting and ages of seedling had significant effects on chamomile morphological characterizations. The maximum values for plant spread, plant height, and shoots produced, number of branches production and the diameter of flower heads was observed from 15th April compared to 1st May, 15th May and 30th May. Nevertheless, all measurement characteristics were not significantly affected by the ages of seedling except for, plant spread and plant height at transplanting. The highest plant spreads were obtained after 30 days of seedlings, whereas the maximum plant heights were examined after 90 days of seedlings (Mohammad et al., 2010). On the other hand, growing season and light environment were two factors which strongly affected all growth parameters of yarrow during different growing seasons. The fresh and dry weight of stem/leaf ratio, the leaves and the fresh weight of inflorescence were mainly influenced by light conditions (Giorgi et al., 2014).
