PURPOSE
The purpose of this will be to promote the film. It will have the release date on the poster so that
people can know when they can go to see it. It will also have the age certificate on it so that
people can know who the target audience is and if it will be suitable for them.
DESCRIPTION OF PRODUCT (GENRE & PLOT ELEMENTS FEATURED)
I am going to produce a film poster campaign for an action movie, which is going to be the back
story of Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows from Prison Break. The film will be set in the year
1990 and will show the brothers Michael and Lincoln living their lives before they end up in
prison together. Michael will be aged 16 and Lincoln will be aged 22 and the film will show
Michael as a well-educated and well-behaved student at school trying to get the best qualifications
possible so his adult life can be better than his terrible childhood, in which his father left and his
mother allegedly passed away. Lincoln on the other hand will in some ways be the binary
opposite of his younger brother Michal and will be in a lot of trouble and involved with criminals
such as drug dealers and murderers and Michael is in some ways the metaphorical older brother to
his older brother. However Lincoln is only doing this to get money and help his younger brother
get a good education. The film will start with their father leaving them when Lincoln is only 6
years old Michael isn’t even born to join a corrupt government organization known as The
Company. The film will then flash forward to 16 years later where Michael and Lincoln are
standing at their mother’s grave. The film will then show Lincoln getting into fights with
criminals, Michael becoming a well-educated student and the rise of The Company.
OUTLINE OF STYLE
On my quad/quad crown theatrical poster I would have a picture of Michael and Lincoln in the
woods, this will be done to foreshadow the idea of them hiding so many years later when they are
on the run from the police/government. I would also have Lincoln dressed in black to show how
his life is a life of crime and how he hides his identity when committing these crimes. My one
sheet theatrical poster will be in the exact same location but when it is dark, this will not only
foreshadow them hiding but it will also create a sense of mystery which links to the
mysteriousness of the company and the way their crimes are performed and how Michael and
Lincoln need to hide under the companies raider. My one sheet teaser poster will be of Michael
and Lincoln outside of the school gates, this shows the idea of innocence for Michael but the gates
also foreshadow them being locked up in prison in the future.
IMAGE LIST & BRIEF DESCRIPTION
I would have a medium shot of Michael and Lincoln in both the quad/quad theatrical poster and the one
sheet theatrical poster to show the expression of the characters and also to capture the background.
However, for my one sheet teaser poster I will have a long shot of the characters, this will be done to get
as much of the gate in as possible.

My target audience would be for males in their late teens to early 30s.
HOW THE POSTERS WILL APPEAL TO THE AUDIENCE
The posters will appeal to my target audience because it will have weapons on the poster and a lot
of people around that age group enjoy action movies such as fast and furious which has a lot of
weapons, which will make the audience excited for this film as they might expect it to be just as
good as the action movies they watch. .
DISTRIBUTION
I will put the release date on my posters so that people know when they can go and see the film. I
will also put the age rating on the poster so that the target audience is clear, therefore people will
know weather or not they want to go and see it. I will also say who is staring in the film so that
people know who will be in it. A poster is a good way to advertise a film because it immediately
lets people know the genre and who’s staring in it, they can also get a rough understanding as to
what the film is about, therefore they will know after seeing the poster weather or not this is a film
they’re interested in.
MARKETING - HOW & WHERE THE POSTERS WILL BE ADVERTISED
I will advertise my film on social media since most of my target audience use social media on a
daily bases therefore this will be the most officiant way to advertise, however I will also advertise
it on public transport since there is still a lot of people who don’t use social media and this could
also attract people outside of my target audience which will bring in a larger audience. I will also
advertise the film by having my poster at the cinema so that people will see this advertised while
there going to see another film which could help attract people going to see an action movie. I
will also advertise my posters in magazines that also advertises action movies. This way people
who are fans of action movies will see this and they will be more likely to want to see it than
someone who is reading a magazine which doesn’t usually advertise action movies.

My posters will be most similar to the Hobbs and Shaw poster because it has my two main
characters on the front and has a background that isn’t just darkness, however like the Hobbs and
Shaw poster it doesn’t give a lot away which will help to make people more intrigued as they will
have to watch to find out why the posters are how they are.
