POSTER CAMPAIGN PROPOSAL

PURPOSE
My purpose is to entertain a boxing audience and influence the younger audiences to push for
their goals not only to become a boxer but my career in a sports industry. This effect will be
created because the audience will be taken along the journey with our main character and will see
his struggles and success.
DESCRIPTION OF PRODUCT (GENRE & PLOT ELEMENTS FEATURED)
I am going to produce a film poster campaign for a sports and drama film as part of the
promotional materials for the film rookie. This film will be about a young man named Michael
and another character named Callum. They both went to the same high school and have been boys
since day one. In this film we see Callum and Michael at a young age with high ambitions of
becoming a world class champion one day. My film will show both characters growing up and
becoming professional boxers beside one another. However, this career then forces them rise in
the ranks to then becoming each other’s enemy as they go head to head for a place in the
finals. even as Michael knows he will be battling an opponent just as deadlier than himself in the ring. He
senses its wrong as they are practically” brothers to the end” but whether he has the true heart of a fighter
and face his brother remains to be seen.
OUTLINE OF STYLE
On my quad/quad crown theatrical poster I would have a picture of both Michael and Callum in the gym.
This will be done to foreshadow the idea of both of them being so close at one point to then turn enemies
as they use to train with each other. I would also try get some boxing gloves for them to use as it gives
emphasis of genre type and its elements. This would also show how identical they are like and how they
describe themselves as there other halves. my one sheet theatrical poster will be in the same exact
location but only with one of the characters being Michael by himself. This will show him preparing for a
fight but also create a sense of mystery at the same time as the audience won’t know who the opponent is.
Again, I would choose to have him wearing boxing gloves and maybe shown drinking water. The effect it
has on the audience would be that Michael is preparing for a massive fight where the stakes are high. My
one sheet teaser poster will only be one of the characters who was given the name “the Undercard” which
is yet to be revealed who out of the two main characters in the film. He will be in the gym in his stance
position. This will be to show different things were during the start and how he started up.
IMAGE LIST & BRIEF DESCRIPTION
I’ve decided to use a close up shot for my one sheet teaser poster as this poster is the poster to be
the sneakiest. In other words, this poster gives us the least amount of information and primarily
focuses on the main characters facial expressions and body language. By using this camera type
shot it gives us the least amount to focus on and gives more suspense to the audience. However,
for my one sheet theatrical poster and the quad/quad crown theatrical poster I would use a medium type
shot of Michael and Callum to really show expressions of the characters and a capture of the background.
FONT LIST & BRIEF DESCRIPTION
POSTER CAMPAIGN PROPOSAL
TARGET AUDIENCE (AGE, GENDER, LIFESTYLE, INTERESTS, SPENDING
POWER)
I will be targeting both males and females between the age of 14-30. This is because the genre
type of my film is drama/sports. I will be targeting more males for this film as it’s all about
boxing and stereotypically males are the ones who perform in these sports. However, sports is all
about competition and everyone can be challenged and compete with everyone which allows this
to be interacted with bothy gender types. Younger people will be more attracted to watch a film
like this as it gives them a sense of inspiration and they are able to relate with the characters more.
HOW THE POSTERS WILL APPEAL TO THE AUDIENCE
My poster will appeal to the audience as the use of props such as boxing gloves will link back to the genre
and how there is a mix of violence in the boxing industry which stereotypically interests young males. The
background will be set in a gym or boxing ring, this will attract audiences who like drama as it Cleary
shows competition and high goals.
DISTRIBUTION
Distribution are different methods that can be used to promote media products so that they are delivered to
audiences, including the marketing campaign. Posters are a good way to sell and promote a film as its
simple to create and easy to get a hold off. For example, posters can be displayed on billboards
which is in most areas therefore more people are likely to see it and the fanbase will increase.
Information such as date release and age rating will be displayed to be able to give information to
the audience. This helps fans interact with the producers and they don’t get left out. Posters tell you
about the story, or who's starring They also contain additional elements to attract and motivate your
target audience to go and see the movie.
MARKETING - HOW & WHERE THE POSTERS WILL BE ADVERTISED
I would advertise my poster in big public places such as billboards as this attracts many more
audiences because most people spend a lot of time in public places and are more likely to catch a
glimpse of these posters as they are in open areas. I would also use social media and a tool of
marketing as social media becomes viral and is easy to use as well as its popularity. This could be
a good way of promotion as lots of people are able to see the posters and fans can interact and use
apps such as twitter to tweet the producers and cast members.
POSTER CAMPAIGN PROPOSAL
POSITION IN THE MARKETPLACE
My posters will fit the target audience as the background of my poster which will be a gym clearly
represents elements of sports and competition. Also, the props being used which are boxing gloves will
match the genre of drama as it again shows violence and competitive rivalry. There will also be a close up
of shot of one of the main characters wish shows the audience the character is important and powerful.
RESOURCES
As my background will be a gym I will use props such as gloves and water bottles to showcase
my genre for my film.

HOW THE POSTERS WILL APPEAL TO THE AUDIENCE My poster will appeal to the audience as the use of props such as boxing gloves will link back to the genre and how there is a mix of violence in the boxing industry which stereotypically interests young males. The background will be set in a gym or boxing ring, this will attract audiences who like drama as it Cleary shows competition and high goals. DISTRIBUTION Distribution are different methods that can be used to promote media products so that they are delivered to audiences, including the marketing campaign. Posters are a good way to sell and promote a film as its simple to create and easy to get a hold off. For example, posters can be displayed on billboards which is in most areas therefore more people are likely to see it and the fanbase will increase. Information such as date release and age rating will be displayed to be able to give information to the audience. This helps fans interact with the producers and they don’t get left out. Posters tell you about the story, or who's starring They also contain additional elements to attract and motivate your target audience to go and see the movie. MARKETING - HOW & WHERE THE POSTERS WILL BE ADVERTISED I would advertise my poster in big public places such as billboards as this attracts many more audiences because most people spend a lot of time in public places and are more likely to catch a glimpse of these posters as they are in open areas. I would also use social media and a tool of marketing as social media becomes viral and is easy to use as well as its popularity. This could be a good way of promotion as lots of people are able to see the posters and fans can interact and use apps such as twitter to tweet the producers and cast members.

POSTER CAMPAIGN PROPOSAL POSITION IN THE MARKETPLACE My posters will fit the target audience as the background of my poster which will be a gym clearly represents elements of sports and competition. Also, the props being used which are boxing gloves will match the genre of drama as it again shows violence and competitive rivalry. There will also be a close up of shot of one of the main characters wish shows the audience the character is important and powerful. RESOURCES As my background will be a gym I will use props such as gloves and water bottles to showcase my genre for my film.
