3. The film ‘Attack The Block’ is targeted and aimed at around 15-
25 year olds. It is aimed at that specific age range as the
characters from the movie can relate to the viewers watching the
movie as the characters in the film are roughly around that age
range (15-25), by having characters whom you can relate to, this
makes it more interesting for the viewer. As ‘Attack The Block’ is
a hybrid mixed with urban-comedy and sci-fi, this would also
appeal to the audience as comedy is a good way of keeping the
viewers entertained.

4. The use of the characters they have used a diverse age range
of characters within the poster this will attract a wider target
audience because they are able to relate to the characters for
example if it was only to be a bunch of youths the older ages
audience wouldn’t take a second look because there is
nothing in there for them to relate too whereas by adding the
2 older characters on the right and left in widens the target
audience which allows them to relate to the characters seeing
as they are of the same age range.

5. The tagline is conative of the genre this will immediately let the viewer’s know that
this films is going to be of the sic-fi genre.
From the producers of Shaun of the dead they have done this because if the target
audience have seen the Shaun of the dead and liked it they will be attracted to watch
this film as it allows them to believe its just as good.
The reason why they have done this is because Shaun of the dead is a very popular
British film which had great feedback and the producer wants more audience to see
his/her film and by doing this people that have seen Shaun of the dead will read
from the producers of Shaun of the dead and see that the same producer made
another and make them want to go see the film and this will widen the audience and
promote the film. They used social media to promote there movie because if they
for example make a Facebook page where most of there target audience use because
Facebook is mostly used by the younger generation which is Attack the Blocks target
audience and that can benefit the audience because they can share there views and
opinions about the film and also find out more by asking attack the blocks Facebook
page and how the audience respond to this is by commenting on there Facebook
page and finding out more about the film and anything got to do with the film.

6. The block on the poster the block seems to be
larger than the rest this suggest that it plays a key
part within the film and also seems to be the main
point of narrative for the film this is also suggested
by the title ‘ATTACK THE BLOCK’.
Asteroids falling from the sky also conative of the
genre also gives enigma codes asking why are they
falling what are they and what have they come for?
This will make the audience want to watch the film
to find out what is going to happen.

Iconic buildings the use of iconic buildings don’t
only suggest where the film is set it is representative
of the sic-fi genre this is also a effective way of
drawing more of an audience in because they will
be able to relate to the film because they come from
