Tate McVay, West Texas A&M University, JR, Sturgis, S.D., Brown HS
McVay paced the Buffs with rounds of 74-74-70 for a two-over-par 218 total at the Newman Invita onal to
e for 10th place. He helped lead the Buffs to a third-place finish for the second-consecu ve me and third-
straight top five finish.
WOMEN’S
Caroline Christensen, Cameron University, FR, Copenhagen, Denmark, Roskilde Handelsskole
Christensen finished fourth at the UCO RCB Bank Classic a er moving up five spots in the second round thanks
to her one-over-par 72. She finished with the second most birdies of the tournament, three in round one and
four in round two, while shoo ng four under par on the par five holes. Christensen’s 36-hole score of 147 paced
the Aggies to an eighth place finish. This is her second fourth place finish in two weeks.
OTHER TOP PERFORMERS
Alexandria Massie, West Texas A&M University, played as an individual in the WTAMU Lady Buff Invita onal
and finished ed for seventh with a 154 score on rounds of 76 and 78. It was her best finish of the season.
Kamryn Cummings, Angelo State University, finished ed for second place at the West Texas A&M Invita onal.
The sophomore shot a season low 74 in the first round and followed it up with a 77 in the final round for a total
of 151. It is the San Angelo na ve’s second straight top five finish and the sixth of her career.

The Cameron women’s golf team finished in eighth at the UCO Classic a er shoo ng a 637 during the 36-hole
tournament, shoo ng a 319 in round one and then a 318 in round two. CU was led by freshman Carolina
Christensen, who finished in fourth with a 147 (76+72). Christensen’s seven birdies helped earn her second
top-5 finish of her young career. Ka e Johnston ed for 22nd with a two round score of 158, while sophomore
Kennedy Wheeler shot a 165 and freshmen Allison Duffin and Bayleigh Johnson shot 168 and 169 respec vely.
The Aggies will have a week off before hos ng the Oklahoma Intercollegiate.
The Aggie men jumped four spots on the final day of the Newman Fall Invita onal to finish in fi h with a three
round score of 901 (302+303+297). Leading Cameron was Will Lovelace who would card a third round low of
72 to advance ten places up the individual leaderboard from his first day for an 11th place finish. Lovelace
completed the 54-hole tournament shoo ng a 223. Three strokes back of Lovelace and finishing ed for 18th
was Dario Gabriel with a 226 (77+73+76). The third Aggie finisher was Daniel Nielsen a er carding a 228
(73+78+77) for a 26th place e.

The West Texas A&M men’s and women’s golf teams both competed this week as they both finished third in
their respec ve tournaments. The women’s team led a er the first round of the WTAMU Invita onal, but were
unable to hold onto the lead as St. Mary’s won the 18-team tournament with a 611 score, while WT carded a
36-hole score of 621. Sophomore Kaylin Milholland paced the Lady Buffs as she finished ed for 10th with a 155
score on rounds of 77 and 78. Individually, sophomore Alexandria Massie ed for seventh with a 154 score on
rounds of 76 and 78. The Lady Buffs return to the links at the Na onal Preview Sunday and Monday at Findlay
Country Club in Findlay, Ohio...
The men’s team led a er the first round of the Newman Invita onal, but were overtaken by Rogers State and
Texas A&M-Commerce in the final two rounds. The Buffs carded a 54-hole score of 890, while Rogers State
won with an 880 score. Reigning LSC Player of the Week Tate McVay paced the Buffs to a fi h place finish with
a 218 score on rounds of 74, 74 and 70. The Buffs carded their second consecu ve opening round under par
with a 286 in the tournament and marked their second-straight tournament leading a er the first round. WT
now heads to the Midwestern State Invita onal Oct. 17-18 at Wichita Falls Country Club.
