This document provides a summary of golf performances from the Lone Star Conference for the week of October 15, 2015. Garrett Landers from Texas A&M-Commerce and Kamryn Cummings from Angelo State are named the Men's and Women's Golfers of the Week, respectively, for their top performances in recent tournaments. Other top individual performances are highlighted from West Texas A&M, Cameron, Tarleton State, and Texas A&M-Commerce. Upcoming tournament schedules are also listed.

GOLFERS OF THE WEEK
MEN’S
Garrett Landers, Texas A&M University - Commerce, FR, Sulphur Springs, Texas, Sulphur Springs HS
Landers led A&M-Commerce to a 6th place finish at the Newman Fall Invitational this week after shooting
a three-round score of 219 (74-72-73). Landers, a freshman from Sulphur Springs, has led the Lions in every
tournament of his young career so far. He finished second this week, two strokes behind the leader. He was also
named to the All-Tournament team and has quickly emerged as a No. 1 option.
WOMEN’S
Kamryn Cummings, Angelo State University, FR, San Angelo, Texas, Central HS
Cummings placed second at the Dallas Baptist Classic to lead ASU to a tie for sixth place. The redshirt freshman
shot an opening round 68 which is her career low. She followed it up with a round of 72 for a two-day total of
140. It is her career best finish and a career low for two rounds.
OTHER TOP PERFORMERS
Marty Sanchez, West Texas A&M University, paced the Buffs to a 12th place finish at the RMAC South
Invitational this week. He carded a 54-hole score of 235 on rounds of 79, 75 and 81 tying for 26th.
Daniel Nielsen, Cameron University, climbed 21 spots up the leaderboard in the final round to place sixth
overall at the RMAC South Invitational with a 226 (81+75+70). The Krosberg, Denmark native battled back from
a season high 81 in round one and fired off a two-under, 70 in the final round which was the lowest score of
any player during the invite. Nielsen also tied for the most individual pars with 35 and had the third best par-5
stroke average at 4.83.
Glory Jangthongsiri, West Texas A&M University, finished 12th at the DBU Classic this week as she carded an
even par 144 on a 71 and 73. She paced the Lady Buffs who finished tied for 11th for the tournament. She is
averaging a team-best 73.00 stroke average for the season which ranks her tied for sixth nationally.
Isabel Jimenez-Perea, Tarleton State University, led the TexAnns with a 71 in each round to finish 2-under
par and in a three-way tie for eighth as Tarleton finished in fifth at the Dallas Baptist Classic. Jimenez-Perea also
recorded nine birdies and 22 pars in the two rounds. It’s her second top 10 finish of the season.
Marisa Delgado, Texas A&M University - Commerce, shot a team best 147 over two rounds at the Dallas
Baptist Classic this week, landing in 17th place individually. In her first season at A&M-Commerce, Delgado
continues to have a strong season.

Tarleton golf finished fifth at the Dallas Baptist Classic with a final score of 598 (+22). The TexAnns improved
by two strokes after shooting a 300 in the first round and moved up four spots on the leaderboard. Isabel
Jimenez-Perea led the TexAnns with a 71 in each round to finish 2-under par and in a three-way tie for eighth.
The TexAnns will play in the Oklahoma Intercollegiate in Fort Still, Okla. on Oct. 19-20 for their last tournament
of the fall season.
Texas A&M-Commerce
Marisa Delgado shot a team best 147 over two rounds at the Dallas Baptist Classic this week, landing in 17th
place individually. Three Lions battled through injury this week, and the team hopes to be fully healthy when
they enter their final fall tournament next week. Garrett Landers finished second this week, two strokes behind
the leader at the Newman Fall Invitational.. He was also named to the All-Tournament team and has quickly
emerged as a #1 option for the Lions. With the underclassmen improving every week, the Lions could be a
strong LSC team come spring.
Texas A&M-Kingsville
West Texas A&M
The Buffs and Lady Buffs both were in action this week as the Lady Buffs finished tied for 11th at the DBU Classic.
Senior Glory Jangthongsiri finished 12th with an even par 144 on a 73 and 71. The Lady Buff struggled in the
second round after opening with a 294 in the first round and sat third. Jangthongsiri is tied for sixth nationally
in stroke average at a 73.00...The Buffs also struggled a bit finishing 12th at the RMAC South Invitational this
week with a 54-hole score of 958. Senior Marty Sanchez paced the team finishing tied for 26th with a 235 score
on rounds of 75, 79 and 81.
