Jared Baker of Midwestern State University won the men's individual title at the Dallas Baptist Classic. Casey Wild of Tarleton State University tied for the women's individual title, helping Tarleton win its second consecutive tournament. Ben Hogan of West Texas A&M University tied for 15th place individually to lead the Buffs to an 11th place team finish. Both the Tarleton State and West Texas A&M golf teams will next compete at the Lone Star Conference Championship from April 18-19 in Frisco, Texas.

Baker fired an eight-under-par 208 total to claim his first collegiate win at the Dallas Baptist Classic earlier this
week at the Hackberry Creek Country Club. The junior from Holliday matched his career low round with back-
to-back 68s and followed up with an even-par 72. Baker posted 35 pars, 12 birdies and an eagle on the final
hole of the tournament to clinch a two-stroke win over St. Edward’s Jay Hogan.

Casey Wild, Tarleton State University, SO, Wodonga, Australia, Wodonga Senior Secondary College
Wild helped Tarleton win its second straight tournament at the Mustang Intercollegiate by finishing in a four-
way tie for first place on the individual leaderboard, carding a 2-under-par 142. Wild shot a 71 in both rounds,
recording 20 pars and a tournament-high nine birdies.

Ben Hogan, West Texas A&M University, paced the Buffs finishing tied for 15th at the WNMU Mustang
Intercollegiate this week. He carded rounds of 68-73-72 for a 213 score. Hogan helped lead the Buffs to tie for
11th in the team standings. It was Hogan’s fifth tournament of the year and the best finish for him, while the
68 was his low score as a Buff as he transferred to WT this season from Iowa Central College.
Glory Jangthongsiri, West Texas A&M University, fired rounds of 70 and 75 for a 1-over 145 at the Mustang
Intercollegiate as she tied for seventh this weekend. Jangthongsiri paced the No. 31 Lady Buffs as they finished
tied for seventh as a team with a 605 (305 - 300) score out of 24 teams.

TexAnn Golf won its second consecutive tournament in dominating fashion in the Mustang Intercollegiate at
the Palm Valley Golf Club. Tarleton had rounds of 285 and 294 to finish with 579 in the two-round tournament.
The TexAnns finished 3-over-par, 11 strokes ahead of second place Northeastern State. It’s the second straight
year that Tarleton has won the Mustang Intercollegiate when the TexAnns won the event by 16 strokes in 2015.
Isabel Jimenez-Perea and Casey Wild finished in a four-way tie for first place on the individual leaderboard by
carding a 2-under-par 142. Jimenez-Perea and Wild each shot a 71 in both rounds. Jimenez-Perea had a team-
high 26 pars and six birdies while Wild carded 20 pars and a tournament-high nine birdies. Beatriz Prados and
Sarah Gee both finished with scores of 149 (+5) to tie for 17th. Prados had 23 pars and four birdies. Gee added
19 pars, six birdies and an eagle in the opening round. Kerbey Kipp record a 151 (+7) and tied for 30th in the
tournament. Kipp finished with 21 pars, three birdies and also added an eagle in the opening round. As a team,
Tarleton had the second most pars of the tournament with 109 and led the field with 28 birdies and two eagles.
The win gives Tarleton four tournament titles in eight matches for the 2015-16 season. The TexAnns will look to
keep the momentum going at the Doc Housewright Invitational in Granbury on April 11.

on Tuesday as junior Ben Hogan paced the team finishing tied for 15th...Hogan carded rounds of 68-73-72 for
a 213 score...Sophomore Angel Aguirre fired a WT career-low 66 in the second round of the tournament...
Senior Word Hudson who was a standout wide receiver on the football team played in his first collegiate golf
tournament firing rounds of 79-73-75 for a 227 score...Hudson was just able to compete this spring prior to
graduating in May...The Buffs and Lady Buffs return home to prepare for the LSC Championship April 18-19 at
Frisco Lakes Golf Course in Frisco, Texas.
