MEN’S
Daniel Nielsen, Cameron University, SO, Krosberg, Denmark, Slagelse Gymnasium
Nielsen finished in second place out of 120 individuals at the WNMU Fall Invitational after carding a five-under,
137 (69-68). In the two round tournament, he recorded 25 pars and eight birdies, which was tied for second
most in the field. In the second round, Nielsen recovered from an out of bounds shot on hole 14 and dropped
the ball into the pin from 140 yards out to card a par.
WOMEN’S
Isabel Jimenez-Perea, Tarleton State University, SR, Cobena, Spain, Ortega y Gasset
Jimenez-Perea climbed four spots on the individual leaderboard to finish in a four-way tie for second after
carding a 73 in the final round and ended the tournament at even par (144). The senior’s performance including
a first round of 71 helped Tarleton win the GolfScrimmages.com National Championship Preview and finished
seven strokes ahead of the second-place finisher. Jimenez-Perea had 26 pars and five birdies in the tournament.

Ethan Peterson, West Texas A&M University, tied
for 36th at the WNMU Fall Intercollegiate with a
pair of 73s on the New Mexico State University Golf
Course this week. He helped lead the Buffs to tie
for 17th with a 595 score for the tournament. The
team opened with a 302, but finished with a 293.
Peterson’s 73 was the low-round for the team in the
first round and tied for the low-round in the second
round. He entered as the No. 3-player in the lineup.
Garrett Landers, Texas A&M University -
Commerce, wrapped up the WNMU Fall Invitational
as the top Lion finisher, as his two-round total of 147
was good enough for a tie for 44th place. This is the
second straight tournament that Landers has paced
the A&M-Commerce squad, providing a hot start to
his freshman campaign.
Whitlee Woods, West Texas A&M University, paced
the Lady Buffs to a ninth-place finish at the NCAA
National Preview at CommonGround Golf Course in
Aurora, Colo., this week. She finished tied for 18th
with a 72 and a 78 for a 6-over 150.
Alexis Thompson, Cameron University, led the
Aggies to a team win at the Oklahoma Baptist
Invitational with a second place individual finish
runner-up overall by carding a 151 (77-74). Her finish
was a career best and matched her career low round
score. Additionally, Thompson’s 74 was tied for the
lowest round of the day on the par-72 course.

Tarleton won the GolfScrimmages.com National
Championship Preview in Colorado. After taking
a four-stroke lead into the final round, Tarleton
stayed ahead of the pack throughout the second
day and shot a 299 (+11) to total 588 (+12) for the
tournament. Tarleton finished seven strokes ahead
of second-place finisher Dallas Baptist for their first
tournament win of the 2015 season. The TexAnns
had three players finish in the top 10 out of 100
participants, highlighted by Isabel Jimenez-Perea’s
second-place finish.
Texas A&M-Commerce
TheA&M-Commercemen’steamdidn’t playaswellas
they had hoped at the WNMU Fall Intercollegiate, as
their top finisher landed in a tie for 44th individually.
The Lions shot 307 as a team over two rounds and
finished the tournament in 21st place.
Texas A&M-Kingsville
West Texas A&M
The men’s and women’s golf teams both were in
action this week as the women’s team finished 9th
at the NCAA National Preview at CommonGround
Golf Course in Aurora, Colo. Senior Whitlee Woods
finished tied for 18th to lead the team on rounds of
72 and 78. WT shot a 300 to open the tournament
and followed with a 312 on Tuesday. The Men’s Team
finished tied for 17th at the Western New Mexico Fall
Intercollegiate in Las Cruces, N.M. The Buffs carded
a 36-hole score of 595 on rounds of 302 and 293.
Senior Ethan Peterson led the way with a pair of 73s
for a 146 score as he tied for 36th.
