Brayden Cruth, West Texas A&M University, SO, Amarillo, Texas, Tascosa HS
Cruth paced the Buffs to a fi h place finish at the Ryan Palmer Founda on Invita onal this week at Tascosa
Golf Club in Amarillo. Cruth finished ed for seventh at 1-under 215 on rounds of 76, 67 and 72. His round of
67 on Monday was a career best for him as he previous best was a 73 last season. He also had his career best
finish in the tournament. As a team, WT beat Lone Star Conference members Midwestern State, Texas A&M-
Commerce, Western New Mexico and UT Permian Basin in the 16-team tournament.
WOMEN’S
Casey Wild, Tarleton State University, JR, Wodonga, Australia, Wodonga Senior Secondary College
Wild led the TexAnns with a score of 145 (+1) to e for fi h at the Indianapolis Invita onal. Wild shot even par
72 in the first round and was 1-over 73 on the final day. Wild totaled nine birdies in the tournament, which was
the second most by an individual. As a team, Tarleton ed for third in the season-opening tournament.
OTHER TOP PERFORMERS
Harry We on, Western New Mexico, helped move the Mustangs up three spots to finish 10th at the Ryan
Palmer Invite. We on posted rounds of 75-74-71, saving his best round for last to end up tying for 26th with a
220 total.
Brenda Dominguez, Western New Mexico, is off to a strong start as a true freshman, as she helped power
the Lady Mustangs to a e for fi h at the Regis Invita onal a er firing a 155. She had rounds of 77 and 78 to e
for sixth. She u lized a strong front-nine in which she went just one over and collected a pair of birdies.

TexAnn golf opened the fall season with a third-place
finish at the Indianapolis Invita onal on Tuesday
at the Prairie View Golf Club. Tarleton shot a 300-
295––595 (+19) to finish in a e with Findlay. Dallas
Bap st won the tournament with a score of 585 (+9).
Casey Wild led the TexAnns with a score of 145 (+1)
to e for fi h. Wild shot even par 72 in the first round
and was 1-over 73 on the final day. Wild totaled nine
birdies in the tournament, which was the second
most by an individual. Beatriz Prados climbed 12
spots on the individual leaderboard to e for ninth
a er improving her scorecard by five strokes to shoot
a 147 (+3). Prados was second on the team with six
birdies. The senior from Spain also led all players in
par-5 scoring at -3 with an average score of 4.63.
Sarah Gee improved two spots on the leaderboard to
e for 14th with a score of 150 (+6). Gee carded a 75
in both rounds and ed for the team lead with 26 pars
in the tournament. Lydia Traylor took four strokes off
her scorecard from the first round and recorded a
76 (+4) for a final score of 156 (+12) and finished in
a e for 39th. Traylor matched Gee with 26 pars in
the tournament. Breanna Smith finished with a 161
(+17). The TexAnns will compete in the Western New
Mexico Invita onal in Goodyear, Ariz. on Sept. 19-20.
Tarleton has won the event the last two seasons.
Texas A&M-Commerce
The A&M-Commerce men finished ninth at the
Ryan Palmer Founda on Invita onal this week...
Wilfredo Sanchez and Grayson Benavides were the
Lions’ top finishers, tying for 21st at 219 (+3)... The
Lions are next in ac on in 2 weeks at the WNMU Fall
Invita onal...The A&M-Commerce women ed for
third at the Texas Intercollegiate this week... Anya
Anders was the top finisher for the Lions, tying for
13th at 235 (+19)... The Lions are next in ac on at the
Oklahoma Bap st invita onal in 2 weeks.

The Buffs opened the 2016-17 season with the Ryan
Palmer Founda on Invita onal at Tascosa Golf Club in
Amarillo this week...The Buffs carded a 54-hole score
of 881 on rounds of 297, 289 and 295...Sophomore
Brayden Cruth paced the Buffs as he finished ed for
seventh at 1-under 215 on rounds of 76, 67 and 72.
His round of 67 on Monday was a career best for him

his career best finish in the tournament...As a team,

Golf Club of Estrella in Goodyear, Ariz., Sept. 26-27...
The Lady Buffs were off this week.
