GOLFERS OF THE WEEK
MEN’S
Pedro De La Vega, Western New Mexico, SO, Toluca, Mexico, Colegio Argos
De La Vega shattered his previous low marks on the season at the Mustang Intercollegiate at Palm Valley Golf Club in
Goodyear, Ariz., as he carded rounds of 67-68-73 for a 208 total to tie for eighth. His first two rounds bested his previous
low score of 70 on the year. During the final round, De La Vega had a birdie on hole nine and compiled 15 pars. He was
near the top of the field on par fours with a 3.90 scoring average, and led the team in par-five scoring (4.42) and birdies
(13). WNMU as a team placed sixth out of 20 teams with an 848. This is also his second top-10 result of the year after
tying for fifth at the St. Mary's Invitational.
WOMEN’S
Kaylin Milholland, West Texas A&M University, JR, Sachse, Texas, Sachse HS
Milholland paced the Lady Buffs and helped bring the team back from third to tie for first at the WT Desert Invitational.
She carded rounds of 73 and 75 for a 148 score to finish third and earn all-tournament honors. Milholland and the No.
19 Lady Buffs defeated eight-ranked teams and tied one (St. Mary's) for the title.

OTHER TOP PERFORMERS
Brayden Cruth, West Texas A&M University, fired a 4-under 212 to finish tied for 18th at the Mustang Intercollegiate
this week. Cruth carded round of 70, 68 and 74 as the Buffs finished 10th of 20 teams with a 285-284-292 score for an
861 overall score.
Wilfredo Sanchez, Texas A&M University-Commerce, finished as the runner-up at the Dallas Baptist Patriot Classic.
The Lions finished in fifth as a team. Sanchez claimed his second top five finish of the season at 218 (73-73-72, +2). The
senior carded eight total birdies in the tournament.
Paige-Lee Garris, Texas A&M University-Commerce, led the Lions to the championship at the Henderson State
Southern Bancorp Invitational. The win is the Lions' second-ever tournament victory. She claimed all-tournament honors
in fifth place at 150 (73-77, +6). This marks a career low and is the freshman's first top five finish of her collegiate career.
It is also the lowest 36-hole score of the season on the Lion squad."
Shelby Turner, Western New Mexico, put together a solid final round as her 74 was tops on the team, as she also
added an 80 for a 154 to tie for 21st at the West Texas A&M Invite played at the Lodge at Ventana Canyon Course in
Tucson, Ariz. She fired a pair of birdies on holes three and 11. She led the team in both par-three (3.00) and par-four
(4.35), while being second in the field in pars with 24. WNMU as a team finished 10th with a 640 after rounds of 322
and 318.

UT Permian Basin men's golf placed 17th overall at the Mustang Intercollegiate at Palm Valley Golf Club in Goodyear,
Ariz. Austin Anderson led the Falcons on the week at T13, shooting a -5 211. He held the day one lead, going 70-64 to sit
10-under through 36 holes.

The No. 19 West Texas A&M women's golf team battled back from a tie for third to tie for the team championship with a
final round 293 after opening with a 307 to begin the tournament...Junior Kaylin Milholland finished third with a 4-over
