April 17, 2018
LSC BASEBALL
West Texas A&M is a flawless 12-0 to start Lone Star Conference play and tops the standings with a 13-game winning
streak.
This week’s schedule consists of league contests on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
LSC teams are playing a 10-week schedule with a four-game series against every other team during weeks 8-14
determining the LSC Champion. Conference series scheduled weeks 5-7 will not count toward the league standings.
Each four-game series shall consist of a 9-inning game Friday, a 7x7 doubleheader Saturday and 9-inning contest Sunday.
The overall LSC Champion will be the team(s) with the best winning percentage in regular-season conference games,
while the winner of the postseason championship will be recognized as LSC Tournament Champion and receive the
league’s automatic qualification into NCAA postseason. This season, the top six teams play a single-elimination
championship on May 10-11-12, at the No. 1 seed.
LSC baseball teams are 149-115 overall this season. In the NCAA South Central Region, the teams are currently 10-

PITCHER
Connor Flanagan, Tarleton State University, JR, RHP, San Antonio, Texas, Smithson Valley HS
Flanagan was huge out of the bullpen in Tarleton's thrilling comeback win over UT Permian Basin on Monday afternoon
to complete a four-game sweep and hold on to sole possession of second place in the Lone Star Conference. After falling
behind 9-2 in the third, Flanagan came out of the bullpen to get the final out of the Falcons' seven-run third inning and
stopped the bleeding while giving his offense time to rally. He got a swinging strikeout to end the scoring for the Falcons
in the third and then shut down UT Permian Basin over the next three innings while racking up a career-high seven
2. strikeouts to earn his second win of the season. His 3.1 innings and seven strikeouts were both career highs. This
performance followed up a Friday night appearance where he came on out of the bullpen to get the final two outs of the
eighth inning and bridge the gap to the closer for the final three outs. For the week, Flanagan threw 4.0 innings of
scoreless relief, scattering four hits and a walk and striking out seven.

seven of his eight at bats to lead the Javelinas and added three walks to go with seven runs scored. His .875 average and
.909 on-base percentage led the Hogs to a series win over Eastern N.M. with three out of four contests going in favor of
the Javelinas. The McAllen, Texas, native was also perfect from the field in his five chances and was a perfect 3-for-3 on
stolen base attempts to provide the complete five-tool look. Loredo recorded a hit in all four games against the Hounds
and was perfect from the plate in all three of TAMUK's wins, including 2-for-2 performances in games one and three
before getting a hit in his lone at bat in game four.
Blake Adams, Tarleton State University, was on fire for the Texans last weekend as the senior outfielder led the way
in a four-game sweep of UT Permian Basin to keep the Texans in sole possession of second place in the Lone Star
Conference. Adams hit .600 in four games with nine hits, including four for extra bases, and eight RBI. In addition to his
eight runs driven in, Adams was a catalyst for the offense at the top of the order by scoring another eight runs. He
boasted a team-high slugging percentage of 1.267 and smashed three home runs for the weekend. He also walked twice
and took three hit by pitches while working a flawless left field.
Zach Shank, Eastern New Mexico University, was Eastern's top hitter in last week's series against Texas A&M-

Joe Corbett, West Texas A&M University, won his seventh start of the season (7-1) with a complete game, going
seven innings, allowing six hits, two earned runs, walked none and fanned nine in a 12-2 win over Cameron as the Buffs
swept the Aggies for a 12-0 start in LSC play. Corbett allowed two runs in the first inning and then threw six scoreless
