1. LSC SOFTBALL
Angelo State remains at the top of the Lone Star Conference standings with West Texas A&M and Cameron right
behind them. The Rambelles are the first NCAA Division II team to reach 40 wins at 41-4 overall.
ASU plays at UT Permian Basin this week, while WT is at CU. Due to the Easter holiday, the games will be
played on Thursday and Friday.
LSC teams are playing a single round-robin schedule with a three-game series against each league opponent.
The overall LSC Champion will be the team(s) with the best winning percentage in regular-season conference
games, while the winner of the postseason championship will be recognized as LSC Tournament Champion
and receive the league’s automatic qualification into NCAA postseason. The single-elimination championship
featuring the top six teams will be played May 5-6, at the No. 1 seed.
LSC softball teams are 243-214 overall this season. In the NCAA South Central Region, the group is currently
55-41 combined versus Heartland Conference teams and 17-9 against the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
HITTER
Shea Ibrahim, West Texas A&M University, SR, Infielder, South Jordan, Utah, Bingham
Ibrahim continued her strong senior campaign this past weekend as she led the No. 9 Lady Buffs to a Lone
Star Conference sweep of Texas A&M-Commerce during Military Appreciation Weekend at Schaeffer Park in
Canyon. The South Jordan, Utah native hit an incredible .692 on the week with nine hits in 13 official at-bats
with two doubles and three home runs to drive in nine RBI with 20 total bases for a slugging percentage of
1.538 while walking once and scoring six runs for an on-base clip of .714 with no strikeouts. At the hot corner,
Ibrahim registered eight assists with no errors for a perfect fielding percentage. The College of Southern Idaho
product registered three RBI in each of the LSC contests this past weekend with a home run in each game.
Ibrahim gave the Lady Buffs the series sweep in style on Saturday afternoon with a walkoff two-run shot to
center field for the 8-7 win.
PITCHER
Brandy Marlett, Angelo State University, JR, P, Henderson, Nevada, Rancho
Marlett was stellar in the circle helping ASU become the first team in Division II to the 40-win plateau. The
junior went 3-0 in three games with two shutouts in an 8-0 win over Texas A&M International and a 8-0 over
Midwestern State. She threw 19.0 innings and only allowed one run on six hits. The Henderson, Nevada, native
struck out 30 and surpassed 200 strikeouts for the season. She held teams to a .094 batting average and
finished with a 0.37 ERA.
OTHER TOP PERFORMERS
Mariangela Garcia, Western New Mexico, finished the series strong against UTPB going 4-4 with a double,
along with a stolen base. For the week, she added an RBI and two walks without any strikeouts.
Kinsie Hebler, Texas A&M University-Commerce, was a bright spot for the Lions in the lineup, hitting .556
in three games against West Texas A&M. She hit two home runs and had five hits overall, slugging 1.444. She
brought in five runs and scored three times.
Madison Greenwell, Angelo State University, helped the Rambelles to perfect 5-0 record last week and
become the first team to the 40-win plateau. She recorded eight hits and scored five runs. The junior’s .471
average was aided by a .417 on base percentage and a .647 average. Greenwell hit a bases loaded triple in game
two against Midwestern State to put ASU on top 3-2 and also recorded a double last week.
Nicole Nordie, Texas Woman’s University, led the offense for TWU in a 3-0 sweep over Tarleton State. The
senior made the most of her five hits by garnering a double and home run while tallying six RBI and also stealing
a pair of bases. Nordie leads the LSC in batting average (.480) and hits (60).
Paige Daino, Cameron University, led the Aggies last week as they rebounded from an early doubleheader
sweep against Central Oklahoma to sweep Eastern New Mexico in three games during the weekend. Against
the Greyhounds, She hit .714 with five runs scored and five RBI. All but one of Daino’s five hits went for extra
bases with one double and three home runs. She hit a homer in each of the three games, recording her 41 and
42 career homers on Friday and then tying the Cameron career record with her 43 on Saturday. Daino had a
slugging percentage of 2.143 in the series and was walked four times to boost her on base percentage to .818.
She is now tied for second in the Lone Star Conference with 11 homers on the season.
Ashley Lopez, Eastern New Mexico University, had a strong week at the plate over five games against
Oklahoma Christian and Cameron. She drew a walk and scored in the Greyhounds’ first win over Oklahoma
Christian this season. Lopez also registered a hit in all three games against Cameron, and hit .500 for the series
with two doubles in the finale. She also was a defensive standout over the week and registered an assist from
center field in three consecutive games.
Megan Durante, Tarleton State University, hit .333 with two home runs and led the TexAnns with a slugging
percentage of 1.111.
Bethany Hines, Cameron University, was a perfect 2-0 last week, leading the Aggies to a 3-2 record after
losing two to UCO and then sweeping Eastern New Mexico. She compiled a 1.17 ERA in 18 innings, while
holding the opposition to hitting .264 against her. Hines was especially good against the Greyhounds, pitching
two complete games with one shutout and giving up just one earned run in 12 innings of work. Those two wins
gave Hines her 20 and 21 of the season, which has her tied for first in the LSC and second in the CU record books

with five RBI in the five game span.
Abby Walker, Texas Woman’s University, increased
her wins on the season to 13 with a pair of victories
against Tarleton State. The junior posted a 1.43 ERA
against the TexAnns in 14.2 innings while giving up
just three earned runs.
Katie Ripple, Eastern New Mexico University,
registered a strong performance in the circle last week
for the Greyhounds. In three appearances against
Oklahoma Christian and Cameron, she registered a
team-best 4.67 earned-run average and allowed a
.286 batting average. Over 4.2 innings against CU, she
allowed just one run on four hits.

Angelo State
The Rambelles became the first Division II team to
reach the 40-win plateau going 5-0 last week. ASU is
No. 2 nationally in ERA with a 1.39 and No. 8 in on
base percentage at .428. The Rambelle pitching staff
has 17 shutouts on the year which is No. 2 nationally
and No. 1 in the LSC. ASU will face UT Permian Basin
in Odessa this Thursday and Friday for a three-game
LSC series.
Cameron
The Aggie softball team went 3-2 on the week, after
rebounding from doubleheader sweep by UCO on
Tuesday to get a three game sweep of Eastern New
Mexico during the weekend. Paige Daino and Breezy
McComas both tied the CU record for career homers
by hitting back-to-back bombs in game three versus
the Greyhounds. The Aggies had a total eight homers
during the week.
Eastern New Mexico
The Eastern New Mexico softball team started the
week with an explosive 11-3 victory at Oklahoma
Christian. Freshman pitcher Kaylee Rogers scattered
three hits to notch her 14th win of the season, while
Cameron Conrad and Audrey Velasquez combined
to bat five for seven. The Eagles bounced back to
win the nightcap. Although the Hounds dropped
their series against Cameron, Velazquez along with
centerfielder Ashley Lopez continued to wield the
hot bat for ENMU. Katie Ripple pitched well out of
the bullpen for the Hounds and allowed just one run
over more than four innings to the third most prolific
homerun-hitting team in the conference. Over the
week, Lopez had a three-game assist streak from her
center field position. This week, the Greyhounds will
visit Texas A&M-Kingsville.
Midwestern State
0-3 last week.
Tarleton State
Tarleton suffered a sweep against Texas Woman’s last
weekend. The TexAnns will return to action on April
18 at Lubbock Christian.
Texas A&M-Commerce
The Lions went 0-3 last week. They host Western New
Mexico for four games this week.
Texas A&M-Kingsville
1-3 last week.
Texas Woman’s
TWU moved up from sixth to fourth in the LSC
standings with a 3-0 sweep of Tarleton State.

The No. 9 Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M ran their
home win streak to 24 games this past weekend as
they swept past the Lions of Texas A&M-Commerce
to move to 32-6 (17-4 LSC) overall. WT hit .404 as
a team on the weekend with six doubles and six
homeruns to drive in 24 RBI with 60 total bases for
a slugging percentage of .674 while walking 16 times
for an on-base clip of .495. The Lady Buffs hit the
road this weekend for Lone Star Conference action
as they take on the Aggies of Cameron with a three-
game series beginning on Thursday afternoon at 3
p.m. followed by a Friday afternoon doubleheader
with first pitch set for 1 p.m. at McMahon Field in
Lawton.
