How Much Sleep Is Enough
How Much Is Enough? The amount of sleep that a healthy individual needs is largely determined by
two factors: genetics and age. Genetics plays a role in both the amount of sleep a person needs, as
well as his or her preference for waking up early (these are the so–called "larks," or morning–type
individuals) or staying up late (these are the "owls," or evening–type people). Our internal
biological clock, which regulates the cycling of many functions including the sleep/wake cycle, can
vary slightly from individual to individual. Although our internal clock is set to approximately 24
hours, if your clock runs faster than 24 hours, you tend to be a "lark" and wake up early; if your
clock runs more slowly, you tend to be an "owl" and go ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If you continue going to bed at the same time and allowing your body to wake up naturally, you will
eventually establish a pattern of sleeping essentially the same amount of time each night, probably
in the range of 7 to 9 hours. Congratulations! You've identified the amount of sleep that you need.
Make Sleep a Priority– Now that you know how much sleep you need–and if you've allowed your
body to pay back your sleep debt and "find" its natural sleep patterns and duration–you are probably
also feeling a lot better, sharper, happier, and healthier. This is how it feels to be well rested. The
next step is to make sure that you continue to make sleep a priority and find ways to protect your
sleep time. If You're Having Problems with Sleep – You may be doing all the right things–respecting
your sleep needs and patterns, setting aside an ample amount of time to sleep, keeping a sleep
diary–but still experiencing daytime sleepiness, fatigue, or insomnia. If that's the case, you should
consider consulting a sleep specialist who can help you set up a better sleep environment, provide
support for making behavioral changes that may be interfering with sleep, or possibly diagnose a
sleep disorder. You have a right to feel well rested–and there are many resources available to help
you get the sleep

Check Out Which Cars Brought Home The Big Bucks At The...
Abstract: Check out which cars brought home the big bucks at the 2016 Mecum Monterey Auction!
Mecum has long been a premier name in high–end car auctions, and few events have better
illustrated that fact than the recently completed Mecum Monterey 2016 Collector and Classic Car
Auction. With a collection of 704 cars ranging from the classic to the ultra–modern, the auction
finished with total combined sales exceeding a staggering $50 million. An impressive six vehicles
registered million–dollar bids, with the five cars below earning the highest winning bids from
buyers.
2014 Ferrari LaFerrari

A set of 6–to–1 headers and specially tuned exhaust provide the characteristic Ferrari note, while an
adjustable spoiler and diffuser flaps lend added stability and control at high speeds. With just 211

$4.7 million.
1966 Ford GT40 Mk. I
Amid a sea of modern, exotic supercars, the 1966 Ford GT40 Mk. I immediately stands out from the
crowd. Devised as an endurance racer for the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Ford GT40 was
built at the Ford Advanced Vehicles factory in Slough, Buckinghamshire, England, at the urging of
Henry Ford II. The GT40 Mk. I features the same 289 cubic–inch V–8 engine that powered many of
the era 's Mustangs, while its long, sweeping lines provide excellent aerodynamics and a striking
body style that was truly ahead of its time.
This Mk. I, which earned a $4.4 million final selling price, is the first road car to be delivered to
American soil. It served briefly as a test car at Ford 's testing grounds in Dearborn, Michigan, before
making the rounds for public relations at racing events, car shows and dealerships. After being
painted a distinctive blue and orange for a Gulf Oil promotion in the 1980s, the car underwent
extensive four–year restorations to restore the original metallichrome silver paint and fit the car with
fully correct parts. Considering its unique history, full documentation and striking looks, it 's

Distinguishing the Difference in News Coverage among International and Domestic Images Not
Included Identifying a Variance in News Coverage It became evident throughout our investigation
that separating domestic news source sites from international news source sites would be beneficial
in addressing our question of the variance in coverage among these news sources when identifying
natural disasters throughout the world. With the objective of properly addressing this inquiry, we
decided upon a proposition in order to accurately identify whether a difference in news source
coverage truly exists. Therefore, we propose that world reports provide more specifications about
international involvement in natural disasters rather than reports ... Show more content on

Although the lack of articles was difficult to project, having more stories per news source would
prove to be increasingly beneficial when making statements regarding the objectives of each site.
Nevertheless, it is important to wisely use the stories we have in order to accurately make
distinctions between sources; therefore, it is imperative to discuss the role of geography and pictures
presented in the articles. A Geographic Input Because the objective of this project is to identify
differences and similarities between world news sources and domestic news sources with the given
tags, discussing the role of geography will be useful in order to understand what the differences and
similarities mean. The attached chart (at the bottom of this section) attentively illustrates what
region(s) of the world each news source focuses on. One obvious pattern is the amount of articles
CNN and CNN World have. Therefore, why is this pattern apparent? This pattern can possibly be
due to the fact that there is a quicker turnover with articles on CNN, or because CNN has an
objective of covering an array of stories in many different regions. Nevertheless, the larger number
of CNN and CNN World articles is helpful for comparing the news sources to one another. As well,
the current issue of the flooding and destruction in Indonesia

Creative Writing: The Road Trip To The Fort Wayne Mastodons
The road is tough.
It's not just the games played in front of thousands of hostile fans, but the travel for a mid–major
with long bus rides and airport layovers takes its toll too.
It's no excuse for losing games that could be won. It's a challenge that most local fans don't
understand.
To make the point of the grind the road can present, here's a glimpse at the Fort Wayne Mastodons
schedule during the recent road trip to the Dakotas.
THURSDAY NIGHT, 10:00 pm – The team arrives at the hotel following a loss at North Dakota
State. A post–game meal is available and then it's some therapy for the heavy minute guys (HMG's).
There's another game in less than 48 hours, so the recovery of the body begins before they even get

approximately 20,000 residents. Since the hotel isn't "full service", sandwiches are delivered for the
guys to eat before a late afternoon practice.
FRIDAY, 4:00 pm – More video study before heading to a light practice on the South Dakota State
campus.
FRIDAY, 6:30 pm – Dinner at a local restaurant. Most meals are pre–ordered to speed up the time at
the restaurant. Tonight, it doesn't seem to have mattered as players wait 20–25 minutes for the meals
to be delivered to their tables.
FRIDAY, 9:00 pm – More video. The details of what has been prepared by the assistant coach

TELEVISION NEWS media is one of the most important catalysts that has an invariably important
role to play in shaping up public opinions, sentiments, and dogmas by promulgating accurate and

In other words we can say that these are popular in metro cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata,
Chennai etc. these channels can be seen in small cities. But these are not as important in small cities
as in big cities.
Level of news given by English news channels
If there is a issue about the level of news channels. then English news channels are very appropriate.
News given by these news channels are 90% real. English news channels give real news as much as
possible. so it can be said that these are better than Hindi news channels. However news channels
have much importance in metropolitan cities but we come to small cities, there are some problems
occur because more than 65% Indian population live in villages & nearby areas. They are mostly
illiterate in these areas . English is beyond their thinking.

Enzyme Responsible For Regulating The Human Circadian Clock
The specific topic being addressed by the members of this group is: Describe the molecules
responsible for regulating the human circadian clock and how they affect metabolism in the human
body. Be sure to address how the circadian rhythms are governed, the signaling mechanisms used,
and specific metabolic pathways. Note you do not need to discuss each step in the metabolic
pathway (e.g. you don't need to describe all ten steps of glycolysis if that's a pathway that is
affected,) but you should identify where in the pathway the chronoregulators might be acting or
what molecules are being affected.
Regulation of the Human Circiadian Clock by Melatonin
Humans often sleep at night and perform waking activities during the day. This molecular ... Show

Melatonin is key to inducing sleep while inhibiting wakefulness at the circadian clock's night point
and inhibiting sleep while inducing wakefulness at the circadian clock's day point. This has
profound effects on human metabolism; melatonin levels are linked to is done by examining
pathway1, 2, 3 which regulate fatigue, attention, and para/sympathetic nervous activity. This reveals
the need for further study of Q.
Introduction
Human behavior, though highly variable, tends towards a sleep cycle in which roughly eight hours
are spent sleeping after every sixteen hours awake. The repetition of this cycle is the expression of
the circadian rhythm. This paper investigates the circadian rhythm by dividing it into three
functions: an internal clock that estimates whether it is day or night, an entrainment mechanism that
adjust the clock to shifts in day/night cycles, and a signaling method that determines whether the
organism will perform biochemical action appropriate to the clock's perception of daytime or
nighttime.
Discussion
Timekeeping
The master circadian clock is found in the anterior hypothalamus' suprachiasmatic nucleus. This
region contains roughly 20,000 neurons arranged in clusters. These clusters demonstrate low
electrical potential activity at night and high electrical potential activity during the day with a period
of roughly 24 hours. This periodic activity level mirrors the human circadian rhythm's tendency
towards low arousal at night

Introduction
Australians have long been famous for being an obese country and now for the first time in recent
years there has been an overwhelming desire for the nation to lead healthier, more active lifestyles,
fueling a thirst for the long forgotten fitness industry. Fitness niches which are nontraditional forms
of exercises, take the "work" out of work out, previously exhibited robust growth is now currently
being run out by easy access 24/7 gyms, whom are attracting the majority of earnest and cost

This comes as no coincidence as it is a fact that the two of the top five fastest growing franchises are
24–hour gyms in Australia (BRW, 2013).
Fitness First's soft spot
SmartCompany reports, McDonell co–founder of Fitness First insists that there is room for different
gym formats in Australia, but concedes the rise of 24–hour, low–cost gyms in general, and Jett's in
particularly, "may have affected them slightly" in the last two years. At the same time as rivalry
Jett's numbers have exploded, opening 155 gyms in less than five years. Under the 24–hour model,
gyms are unmanned for most of the day, meaning labour costs are much lower (Thomson, J, 2012).
Fitness First has be renowned for its unique product line of programs and other assorted
nontraditional forms of exercise taking the "work" out of work out it has garnered increased mass
appeal from both media and individual gym enthusiasts, drawing in millions of new subscribers
around the world. With its long standing knowledge of suppliers and specialists it is known for its
better facilities and equipment, thus creating a customer base loyal to those who treasure such
values, unfortunately not all consumers value this concept.
Jett's distinguishes itself from the larger operators like Fitness First which have broader facilities,
pools, classes and personal trainers, which significantly bump up costs for members. By

Making An Initial Visit After Receiving A Referral Within...
Summary The aim of this session was to introduce us to the process of making an initial visit after
receiving a referral within the role of a social worker. This was done with a small group exercise
involving role play. We were placed into groups of four and once in our groups we had to divide
ourselves into roles. There were three roles consisting of Service user, Social worker and observer.
We were then taken to one side with people from other groups whom had be given the same role as
ourselves and briefed on what it was we had to do. I was given the role of social worker, therefore i
was told that I had to plan and undertake an initial visit and given the receipt of a referral. The
referral consisted of concerns regarding a young boy, Max aged 2. The referral was made by the
child's nursery. They had concerns about his behavior and presentation, for example, Max is often
very tired, wears the same clothes for a number of consecutive days, is greedy when given food and
aggressive towards his peers. Alongside this, questions regarding his mother, sally, were also raised.
When staff at the nursery had spoken to her she seemed to show littler concern regarding her son's
behavior, she often smells strongly of alcohol and bruises have been seen on her face. It was
therefore my responsibility to take this information from this receipt of referral on board before then
undertaking my role within the role play of a social worker making an initial visit. Initial Response

Comparing The Tyranny Of The Clock And How To Live On 24 Hour
The standard way of thinking about time has it that one should always use their time wisely.
Therefore, they've been a few stories that depict and describe how to and which way to manage
time. From The Tyranny of the Clock by George Woodcock, to The "Busy" Trap by Tim Kreider,
and How to Live on 24 Hour a Day by Arnold Bennett, all in a way or ways describe how one can
use his or her time properly. However, if one were to contrast these three stories, they would find
that George Woodcock and Tim Kreider have more in common, then Arnold Bennett.
In other words, The Tyranny of the Clock, and The "Busy" Trap, went into similar direction with the
concept of how to use your time, whereas, How to Live on 24 Hours a Day went in a very different
route. The "Busy" Trap written by Tim Kreider went into to the ... Show more content on

He went into detail, about the reason why people are always busy; has Kreider state that, is because
they're "self–imposed" and that people "taken on voluntarily, classes and activities" (Kreider par 2).
So they could stay busy, day in and day out, in fact, people are busy because "of their own ambition
or drive or anxiety, because they're addicted to busyness and dread what they might have to face in
its absence"(kreider par 2). Thus, they go to a different level with their busyness. Which is why
Kreider disagree with the idea that staying busy is a good way to use your time wisely, however,

Non-24-Hour Sleep-Wake Disorder Research Paper
Non–24–Hour Sleep–Wake Disorder, short for Non–24, is a chronic circadian rhythm disorder that
affects people that are completely blind. The circadian rhythms control the body clock and regulate
sleep–wake cycle and various other cycles that are critical in the body. In most people, this body
clock runs marginally longer than 24 hours. This means that rather than cycle on a 24–hour day,
most people's natural rhythms actually run a bit longer. Whether the cycle runs two minutes or 30
minutes longer, patients with Non–24 have these minutes add up day after day, few days adding to a
few more the next. Eventually causing evident changes in one's body. Their body's circadian rhythm
becomes out of sync from regular day and night cycle.

Persuasive Speech On Modern Life
"We must be diligent today. To wait until tomorrow is too late. Death comes unexpectedly. How can
we bargain with it?"– Buddha. Wow, that is both incredibly heavy and extremely motivating.
Although most interpret this to be motivation for someone to follow their most outrageous and
elaborate dream I find it to be a wee bit more reprimanding. To me it is a verse full of chagrin for
those who continue to put off the things they needed to do a week ago. To me it is a command to
stop with all the wispy and foolish excuses in favor of starting towards a better, less stressful,
tomorrow! Most, namely myself, refuse to heed this call; opting instead for a life of half lived
relaxation followed by hectic bursts of tears turmoil and stress; it's a life lived down to the wire, a
life on the edge, a life run by the fact that you are perpetually behind schedule.
As terribly exciting as that may sound this constant wave of slow–mo into overdrive is taxing and,
as one might expect, not conducive to a worker with top quality output. Even though its common
knowledge that procrastinating has never been the best route to take somehow as we go through life
it is in fact the path most travelled. So, if it's so bad for us why do we continue to do it? How does
our procrastination affect us? How does it affect others? Most importantly how do we fix this
seemingly harmless trend that catapults us into impossible messes and tangled situations? It's not so
tedious a task to find articles

the organization will be driven to perform in order to measure its success over time. For example, if
your organization's primary goals are to have the field engineer arrive at the customer site as quickly
as possible, complete the repair within the contracted time, and leave the customer completely
satisfied, then you will probably be looking at KPIs reflecting Average Time to Respond (AVR),
Mean Time to Repair (MTTR), and various other customer satisfaction metrics and indices.
How you will maintain performance under varying conditions and contingencies. Give specific

in trucks (7,800 – 3,200). The trucks will continue unloading up to 4,600/600 minutes after 7 pm
and until 02.40 am and the processing will continue until 8 am. At the same time, to empty the next
slot of berries, the remaining quantity of berries will be arrived. The total amount of berries that will
be processed is 7200 bbls (600 x 12). The total waiting hours for trucks will be as follows:
Processing rate = 600 bbls/hr. Arrival rate = 1050 bbls/hr. Processing time for 3200 bbls of wet
berries = 5.3 hours or 5.18 minutes It means next process will start at 3.24 pm. Total berries will be

have to wait for (12600–5216)*(15.24–10.03)/2/75 = 256. 5 truck hours [15.24 equal to 3.24 pm]
Total number of trucks = 18.32 or 19 (256.5/14) trucks Thus, from the above calculation, it can be

Training Facilities For Rapid City Essay
The small town of Rapid City, South Dakota has a population of nearly 71,000 residents. The main

Base. When the term 'military' comes to mind, an assortment of words come to mind. Deployment.
Family. War. Aircraft. To some though, the word fitness comes to mind first. Everyone knows that in
order to be a member of the United States military, you must be fit. Every member of the Armed
Forces know that they can be called upon at any time to perform an assortment of tasks, and being
physically fit is a priority. Nearly every military base has a gym or fitness facility, but who wants to
visit the base after hours to work out? How often do you catch yourself watching the clock, waiting
for the hour hand to strike four so that you can check out for the day? Because of this, fitness
facilities throughout the city is a hot topic amongst military veterans. Towards the end of 2015,
Rapid City was home to three small–scale fitness centers. Because of the lack of choices, of course
it made sense to charge steep prices. In December of 2015, that all changed with the arrival of
Planet Fitness. Planet Fitness, founded in 1992, focused on reducing prices to compete against the
other well–known brands. The organization is an American health and wellness franchise that

Currently, due to the raise of Certificate of Entitlement, Mazda is offering a SGD$5000 cash rebate
when consumers buy a RX8. Their main objective now is to gain a higher market share. Using the
scare tactics, they are giving a deadline for this promotion to end, urging consumers to enjoy this
offer while other dealers are only giving a much lower cash rebate of SGD$3,000 to SGD$4,000. As
they are not going high key this time, they are using below the line advertising like giving out of

Reflective Essay About Self Reflection
During the Fall semester of 2017 at SUNY New Paltz, you took a course called Intermediate

human in the digital landscape of 2017." Through this we took part in several projects consisting of
recording our digital technology usage throughout a 24 hour period, refraining from technology for
24 hours, and also a research paper which posed a question regarding our technology and how we
are using it. We used the popular TV show Black Mirror to reference from, as it expresses what
could happen if we become too addicted to certain technologies. Technology, although beneficial,
can prove to harm us if we use it too much. Technology serves us with entertainment, information,
and services, but if we rely on it too much we can become seemingly lost of our humanity. This is
essentially our goal of the course, as we studied several different aspects. Through our research, I
found that I typically rely on my technology for 2 main things, school and entertainment. I found
myself spending around 6 hours per day using my devices in total, including my cell phone, xbox,
and television. This didn't surprise me as I honestly expected to be on my devices more often. It
should be noted that I conducted this research on a day in which I had to attend my internship,
rendering myself tech–less for a portion of the day. If it were a normal day, I could likely expect
myself on my technology a much larger portion, and this should be considered in the future. As
technology grows to be more prevalent, we should grow more wary of it. We haven't experienced a
change so massive in our lives, as technology plays a role in nearly every aspect of our lives
currently. Imagine life in 10 years, or even in 20 years when you read this. Times will change,
technology evolves rapidly, and we need to be careful of how we embrace and implement these new
devices into our lives. We also frequently referenced the show Black Mirror. This shows main focus
is of what technology can do to us if we rely on it too much. One episode that really spoke to me
was "Nosedive," season 3, episode 1. This episode focuses on social media, and your 'ranking' in
society. Everybody

A. Definitely the American businessman did not study the Saudi ethics principles before visiting the
country; he made several ethical mistakes.
B. He had to inform the team what was the point of the meeting, so that people would be prepared
for it with ideas.
C. The Spanish guys needed to study the business ethics in USA; not anyone needs to receive the

Do not offer or accept gifts of cash or cash equivalents to or from any current, former or potential
vendor, customer, broker or provider. Cash equivalents include checks, honoraria, money orders,
stocks and savings bonds. Gift certificates and gift cards are not considered cash equivalents, but
they are subject to our limits on business courtesies.
Entertainment and meals offered or received by employees as part of legitimate business activity are
not included in the $50 gift limit, but they must be within reason and moderation. Generally, prizes
from raffles and drawings outside of business activities are not considered gifts.
Although we do not set a dollar limit on gift giving among employees, always use good judgment
when giving or accepting gifts. Gifts of nominal value are always best, and contributing to a gift
must always be voluntary. Never give a gift to another employee to influence or show favoritism.
Know that when the Company awards items to employees as recognition for a business achievement
or as part of Company sponsored events, they are not considered gifts, but they are subject to all
applicable federal, state and local tax requirements

Verisimilitude In The Misanthrope
Ali Schonhoff
Theatre History I
Dave Pasto

The Misanthrope Consideration
1. Verisimilitude is the appearance of truth. It can be broken down into three parts:
a. Probability: how likely is it that these events could actually happen? To keep the plots of
neoclassic plays probable, playwrights removed supernatural and fantasy characters, the chorus, and
any soliloquy or aside where a character would speak directly to the audience and not to another
character. In Molière's play The Misanthrope, this can be seen right off the bat as Alceste informs
the audience of his love for Célimène by discussing it with Philinte who here serves as a confidant
for Alceste to avoid using a soliloquy.
b. Morality: Neoclassic plays were meant to instruct and delight. Comedies should ridicule ... Show

Place: there should only be one setting for the entire play. The Misanthrope takes place entirely in
and around Célimène's house, keeping the set unified.
c. Action: there should only be one plot. Plays should not have subplots unless they can only be
resolved by the resolution of the main plot. All the little love stories and scuffles of The
Misanthrope lead back to Alceste trying to win over Célimène somehow or another. Nothing in the
play exists separate from this.
4. Purity of Genre: there should not be any serious scenes in a comedy, and no comedic scenes in a
tragedy. Comedies should primarily focus on the middle and lower classes ridiculing their follies.
Molière mostly follows this rule, except for at the end of The Misanthrope: his play ridicules folly
and is unarguably funny. However, comedies are generally known for their happy endings, and this
play just... doesn't have one of those. Our main character ends the show with his decision to be a
hermit as he did not win over his love or his rebound girl. The woman who should have ended the
show as his lover is called out as a whore and turns down Alceste's offer to love her anyway which
leaves her ultimately unhappy as

An Analysis Of Online Health Information From Psychology...
An Analysis of Online Health Information from Psychology Today Sarah E. Basuric University of
Alberta Faculty of Nursing 1229968 The purpose of this discussion is to analyze an article from
Psychology Today entitled A Multitasking Molecule: Melatonin Does a lot More Than Help you
Sleep. This discussion will explore the credibility of the site, the purpose of the article, the
congruency of content versus audience, the methods used, and the balance of information. Upon
viewing the site, the top of the screen urges the reader to find a therapist, and contains a clearly laid
out navigation bar. Advertisements and links to other Psychology Today articles run down the right
side of the screen. The site is quite user–friendly. This article was written by Rachel Uda; the date of
publication and date of last review are listed. Lorraine Roberts (2010) explains criteria for
evaluating a health website. The first is credibility, in which the reader is to seek out specific
qualifications of the author (Roberts, 2010, p. 322). A search of both the "experts" drop–down menu
and the general search bar of Psychology Today did not yield any credentials for Uda. A Google
search brought up her LinkedIn site, which states that she attended Graduate School of Journalism
from Columbia University. This leads the writer to question the qualifications of the author, as it
appears she has credentials as a journalist, not as a psychologist or expert on

Life, School And College Life From High School
College life is very different from High School. Longer classes in some cases longer break periods,
and trying to balance your life at work, school, and home can be very overwhelming for most
students, making it very important to have a schedule and daily planner to better balance life at
school and home.
Creating a schedule and managing my time for myself has been both surprisingly easy and difficult.
My mornings from Monday to Thursday are the same for me as it was in High School. I would
wake up at 6:20 am, get dressed, eat breakfast, walk to the bus stop, wait, ride the bus to my High
School, enter my school, and wait until 8:00 am for class to start. Now instead of walking to the bus
stop, my mom gives me a ride to my uncle's house because he works near Pierce College and I ride
with him to school. He drops me off around 7:40 am and I wait until English 101 begins.
Afterwards, once English 101 at 9:30 am I have a half hour break to eat lunch until Counseling 40
begins. Finally, at 11:30 am Counseling 40 ends I wait in the library till 12:00 pm and walk to the
Orange Line bus stop. And I ride the bus and can be home by 1:30 pm. Afterwards, I would relax for
an hour before I would work an essay or read a chapter for an hour, then I would watch TV till 7:00
pm for dinner. My Friday's and weekends are usually free days for me, I only occasionally have to
do chores, study, homework, or stay at Grandma's on Saturday night. Leaving Sunday as being more
or less a lazy day for

Shedding Light On The Day Night Cycle Analysis

Title: "Shedding light on the day–night cycle" http://phys.org/news/2–16–03–day–night.html
Published: March 1, 2016
Author: Tamara Bhandari
In the article "Shedding light on the day–night cycle", many new researchers found different rhymes
encoded to their daily life. Scientists at Washington University School of Medicine discovered
different ways to test groups of neurons based on keeping time that will make them be on the same
clock. As we know, life on earth is followed by the rising and setting of the sun. Using based
knowledge, there are many night owls and morning risers. Stated in the article, "it is important to
understand how fundamental timing information is translated into actual neuronal signals in the
brain that are controlled by daily rhythms, including rhythmic behavior" (Paul Taghert). Daily
cycles are known as circadian clocks. The circadian clock is based on evolution and uses a small
amount of proteins which goes up and down by controlling your manner once a day. In the article,
scientist do a study based on fruit flies. Liang talks about performing brain scans on live fruit flies
every ten minutes for 24 hours. Every fly brain is behaviorally active 150 times in the morning and
in the evening. Scientists are improving new tools to help one to identify signals and understand the
control timing in the brain in other species. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

How Much Sleep Is Enough

  • 1. How Much Sleep Is Enough How Much Is Enough? The amount of sleep that a healthy individual needs is largely determined by two factors: genetics and age. Genetics plays a role in both the amount of sleep a person needs, as well as his or her preference for waking up early (these are the so–called "larks," or morning–type individuals) or staying up late (these are the "owls," or evening–type people). Our internal biological clock, which regulates the cycling of many functions including the sleep/wake cycle, can vary slightly from individual to individual. Although our internal clock is set to approximately 24 hours, if your clock runs faster than 24 hours, you tend to be a "lark" and wake up early; if your clock runs more slowly, you tend to be an "owl" and go ... Nevertheless, it is important to wisely use the stories we have in order to accurately make distinctions between sources; therefore, it is imperative to discuss the role of geography and pictures presented in the articles. A Geographic Input Because the objective of this project is to identify differences and similarities between world news sources and domestic news sources with the given tags, discussing the role of geography will be useful in order to understand what the differences and similarities mean. The attached chart (at the bottom of this section) attentively illustrates what region(s) of the world each news source focuses on. One obvious pattern is the amount of articles CNN and CNN World have. Therefore, why is this pattern apparent? This pattern can possibly be due to the fact that there is a quicker turnover with articles on CNN, or because CNN has an objective of covering an array of stories in many different regions. Nevertheless, the larger number of CNN and CNN World articles is helpful for comparing the news sources to one another. As well, the current issue of the flooding and destruction in Indonesia ... Be sure to address how the circadian rhythms are governed, the signaling mechanisms used, and specific metabolic pathways. Note you do not need to discuss each step in the metabolic pathway (e.g. you don't need to describe all ten steps of glycolysis if that's a pathway that is affected,) but you should identify where in the pathway the chronoregulators might be acting or what molecules are being affected. This reveals the need for further study of Q. Introduction Human behavior, though highly variable, tends towards a sleep cycle in which roughly eight hours are spent sleeping after every sixteen hours awake. The repetition of this cycle is the expression of the circadian rhythm. This paper investigates the circadian rhythm by dividing it into three functions: an internal clock that estimates whether it is day or night, an entrainment mechanism that adjust the clock to shifts in day/night cycles, and a signaling method that determines whether the organism will perform biochemical action appropriate to the clock's perception of daytime or nighttime. Discussion Timekeeping The master circadian clock is found in the anterior hypothalamus' suprachiasmatic nucleus. This region contains roughly 20,000 neurons arranged in clusters. These clusters demonstrate low electrical potential activity at night and high electrical potential activity during the day with a period of roughly 24 hours. This periodic activity level mirrors the human circadian rhythm's tendency towards low arousal at night ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This was done with a small group exercise involving role play. We were placed into groups of four and once in our groups we had to divide ourselves into roles. There were three roles consisting of Service user, Social worker and observer. We were then taken to one side with people from other groups whom had be given the same role as ourselves and briefed on what it was we had to do. They had concerns about his behavior and presentation, for example, Max is often very tired, wears the same clothes for a number of consecutive days, is greedy when given food and aggressive towards his peers. Alongside this, questions regarding his mother, sally, were also raised. When staff at the nursery had spoken to her she seemed to show littler concern regarding her son's behavior, she often smells strongly of alcohol and bruises have been seen on her face. It was therefore my responsibility to take this information from this receipt of referral on board before then undertaking my role within the role play of a social worker making an initial visit. The circadian rhythms control the body clock and regulate sleep–wake cycle and various other cycles that are critical in the body. In most people, this body clock runs marginally longer than 24 hours. This means that rather than cycle on a 24–hour day, most people's natural rhythms actually run a bit longer. Whether the cycle runs two minutes or 30 minutes longer, patients with Non–24 have these minutes add up day after day, few days adding to a few more the next. • 24. Persuasive Speech On Modern Life "We must be diligent today. To wait until tomorrow is too late. Death comes unexpectedly. How can we bargain with it?"– Buddha. Wow, that is both incredibly heavy and extremely motivating. Although most interpret this to be motivation for someone to follow their most outrageous and elaborate dream I find it to be a wee bit more reprimanding. To me it is a verse full of chagrin for those who continue to put off the things they needed to do a week ago. To me it is a command to stop with all the wispy and foolish excuses in favor of starting towards a better, less stressful, tomorrow! Most, namely myself, refuse to heed this call; opting instead for a life of half lived relaxation followed by hectic bursts of tears turmoil and stress; it's a life lived down to the wire, a life on the edge, a life run by the fact that you are perpetually behind schedule. As terribly exciting as that may sound this constant wave of slow–mo into overdrive is taxing and, as one might expect, not conducive to a worker with top quality output. Even though its common knowledge that procrastinating has never been the best route to take somehow as we go through life it is in fact the path most travelled. So, if it's so bad for us why do we continue to do it? How does our procrastination affect us? How does it affect others? Most importantly how do we fix this seemingly harmless trend that catapults us into impossible messes and tangled situations? It's not so tedious a task to find articles ... • 38. Reflective Essay About Self Reflection During the Fall semester of 2017 at SUNY New Paltz, you took a course called Intermediate Composition, and for this course we had an temporal theme, which was "What does it mean to be human in the digital landscape of 2017." Through this we took part in several projects consisting of recording our digital technology usage throughout a 24 hour period, refraining from technology for 24 hours, and also a research paper which posed a question regarding our technology and how we are using it. We used the popular TV show Black Mirror to reference from, as it expresses what could happen if we become too addicted to certain technologies. Technology, although beneficial, can prove to harm us if we use it too much. Technology serves us with entertainment, information, and services, but if we rely on it too much we can become seemingly lost of our humanity. This is essentially our goal of the course, as we studied several different aspects. Through our research, I found that I typically rely on my technology for 2 main things, school and entertainment. I found myself spending around 6 hours per day using my devices in total, including my cell phone, xbox, and television. This didn't surprise me as I honestly expected to be on my devices more often. It should be noted that I conducted this research on a day in which I had to attend my internship, rendering myself tech–less for a portion of the day. If it were a normal day, I could likely expect myself on my technology a much larger portion, and this should be considered in the future. As technology grows to be more prevalent, we should grow more wary of it. We haven't experienced a change so massive in our lives, as technology plays a role in nearly every aspect of our lives currently. Imagine life in 10 years, or even in 20 years when you read this. Times will change, technology evolves rapidly, and we need to be careful of how we embrace and implement these new devices into our lives. We also frequently referenced the show Black Mirror. This shows main focus is of what technology can do to us if we rely on it too much. One episode that really spoke to me was "Nosedive," season 3, episode 1. Know that when the Company awards items to employees as recognition for a business achievement or as part of Company sponsored events, they are not considered gifts, but they are subject to all applicable federal, state and local tax requirements 2. 3M Company: What to avoid Giving or receiving money or cash equivalents such as gift cards, gift certificates or vouchers almost

  • 41. Verisimilitude In The Misanthrope Ali Schonhoff Theatre History I Dave Pasto 14 October 2015 The Misanthrope Consideration 1. Verisimilitude is the appearance of truth. It can be broken down into three parts: a. Probability: how likely is it that these events could actually happen? To keep the plots of neoclassic plays probable, playwrights removed supernatural and fantasy characters, the chorus, and any soliloquy or aside where a character would speak directly to the audience and not to another character. In Molière's play The Misanthrope, this can be seen right off the bat as Alceste informs the audience of his love for Célimène by discussing it with Philinte who here serves as a confidant for Alceste to avoid using a soliloquy. b. Morality: Neoclassic plays were meant to instruct and delight. Comedies should ridicule ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Place: there should only be one setting for the entire play. The Misanthrope takes place entirely in and around Célimène's house, keeping the set unified. c. Action: there should only be one plot. Plays should not have subplots unless they can only be resolved by the resolution of the main plot. All the little love stories and scuffles of The Misanthrope lead back to Alceste trying to win over Célimène somehow or another. Nothing in the play exists separate from this. 4. Purity of Genre: there should not be any serious scenes in a comedy, and no comedic scenes in a tragedy. Comedies should primarily focus on the middle and lower classes ridiculing their follies. Molière mostly follows this rule, except for at the end of The Misanthrope: his play ridicules folly and is unarguably funny. However, comedies are generally known for their happy endings, and this play just... doesn't have one of those. Our main character ends the show with his decision to be a hermit as he did not win over his love or his rebound girl. The woman who should have ended the show as his lover is called out as a whore and turns down Alceste's offer to love her anyway which leaves her ultimately unhappy as ... • 42. An Analysis Of Online Health Information From Psychology... An Analysis of Online Health Information from Psychology Today Sarah E. Basuric University of Alberta Faculty of Nursing 1229968 The purpose of this discussion is to analyze an article from Psychology Today entitled A Multitasking Molecule: Melatonin Does a lot More Than Help you Sleep. This discussion will explore the credibility of the site, the purpose of the article, the congruency of content versus audience, the methods used, and the balance of information. Upon viewing the site, the top of the screen urges the reader to find a therapist, and contains a clearly laid out navigation bar. Advertisements and links to other Psychology Today articles run down the right side of the screen. The site is quite user–friendly. This article was written by Rachel Uda; the date of publication and date of last review are listed. Lorraine Roberts (2010) explains criteria for evaluating a health website. The first is credibility, in which the reader is to seek out specific qualifications of the author (Roberts, 2010, p. 322). A search of both the "experts" drop–down menu and the general search bar of Psychology Today did not yield any credentials for Uda. A Google search brought up her LinkedIn site, which states that she attended Graduate School of Journalism from Columbia University. This leads the writer to question the qualifications of the author, as it appears she has credentials as a journalist, not as a psychologist or expert on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Life, School And College Life From High School College life is very different from High School. Longer classes in some cases longer break periods, and trying to balance your life at work, school, and home can be very overwhelming for most students, making it very important to have a schedule and daily planner to better balance life at school and home. Creating a schedule and managing my time for myself has been both surprisingly easy and difficult. My mornings from Monday to Thursday are the same for me as it was in High School. I would wake up at 6:20 am, get dressed, eat breakfast, walk to the bus stop, wait, ride the bus to my High School, enter my school, and wait until 8:00 am for class to start. Now instead of walking to the bus stop, my mom gives me a ride to my uncle's house because he works near Pierce College and I ride with him to school. He drops me off around 7:40 am and I wait until English 101 begins. Afterwards, once English 101 at 9:30 am I have a half hour break to eat lunch until Counseling 40 begins. Finally, at 11:30 am Counseling 40 ends I wait in the library till 12:00 pm and walk to the Orange Line bus stop. And I ride the bus and can be home by 1:30 pm. Afterwards, I would relax for an hour before I would work an essay or read a chapter for an hour, then I would watch TV till 7:00 pm for dinner. My Friday's and weekends are usually free days for me, I only occasionally have to do chores, study, homework, or stay at Grandma's on Saturday night. Leaving Sunday as being more or less a lazy day for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Shedding Light On The Day Night Cycle Analysis Mandy Sanguigni Biology–in–the–new report #2 Title: "Shedding light on the day–night cycle" http://phys.org/news/2–16–03–day–night.html Published: March 1, 2016 Author: Tamara Bhandari In the article "Shedding light on the day–night cycle", many new researchers found different rhymes encoded to their daily life. Scientists at Washington University School of Medicine discovered different ways to test groups of neurons based on keeping time that will make them be on the same clock. As we know, life on earth is followed by the rising and setting of the sun. Using based knowledge, there are many night owls and morning risers. Stated in the article, "it is important to understand how fundamental timing information is translated into actual neuronal signals in the brain that are controlled by daily rhythms, including rhythmic behavior" (Paul Taghert). Daily cycles are known as circadian clocks. The circadian clock is based on evolution and uses a small amount of proteins which goes up and down by controlling your manner once a day. In the article, scientist do a study based on fruit flies. Liang talks about performing brain scans on live fruit flies every ten minutes for 24 hours. Every fly brain is behaviorally active 150 times in the morning and in the evening. Scientists are improving new tools to help one to identify signals and understand the control timing in the brain in other species. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
