How Knowledge And Technology Relate To The Organizing...
The organizing function of management deals with activities that result in the formal assignment of
tasks and authority and a coordination of effort. Management staffs the work unit, trains employees,
secures resources, and empowers the work group into a productive team. Organizing is the
managerial function of arranging people and resources to work toward a goal. The purposes of
organizing include but are not limited to determining the tasks to be performed in order to achieve
objectives, dividing tasks into specific jobs, grouping jobs into departments, specifying reporting
and authority relationships, delegating the authority necessary for task accomplishment, and

The technologies and solutions that the company provides, strive to make life easier and enjoyable
for the community. When it comes to the vast area of technology, that is mainly what Circuit City
is about. The company is a frontrunner for bringing that technology to the community and that is a
reason why customers come to Circuit City. They come to experience the new and upcoming
products that arrive on the market and our store is that doorway for them to experience it. From
the small gadgets and accessories to the larger merchandise such as computers, TVs, audio/video
equipment, it is all available for easy access for the customer. The entire store has to be prepared
with presenting the upcoming products to the community by displaying it or even setting the
product up for demonstration use. So that when ready, the customer can try the product in ease and
experience its uses. The organization has to also be able to staff and supply its stores with the
proper technology so that employees can also use it if they have to.
An example of that would be in the department that I work in, PC Repair. My department is
responsible for also performing analog to digital video conversions, such as; VHS to DVD or even
older cassette tapes to CD.
Now Circuit City rarely even sells cassette tapes and recorders but

Why We Cant Wait Rhetorical Questions
In 1861 America had a civil war in order to free African Americans from slavery. Thirty five
years later, the Supreme Court case Plessy vs. Furgeson ruled separate but equal. However, in
the 1960 s, the races were separate but far from equal. In Martin Luther King Jr. s book Why We
Cant Wait he uses rhetorical questions, pathos, and diction of the word freedom in order to
persuade people to make a change in the way African Americans were being treated. First, king
uses rhetorical questions in order to get people to think about the way Africans Americans were
being treated. He uses the example of two young children asking, Why does misery constantly
haunt the Negro? How bad do things need to be for this question to cross a young child s mind?
This question is asked by children in order to make people think of how badly Africans are being
treated, and persuade them to make a change.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

A Morning of Passion and Pain
They were lying on the bed naked; Their legs intertwined, allowing the sweat they had
vigorously worked up moments ago to dry upon their skin. Carol shivered as Daryl slowly ran
the tips of his fingers along her rib cage, skimming the underside of her breast, and back down
again. He repeated the motion over and again, causing her body to quake with longing. The
second time around had been a slow, but amazing, loving. There wasn t a spot on her body that
Daryl hadn t traced or sculpted with his hands. His fingers had lovingly worshiped every dip and
curve, sending waves of pleasure throughout her body. When she had reached her peak, tingles
had rushed through her body, and her vision had gone blurry. All she could feel was the instant
lightness her body was experiencing, and the aching throb between her legs. Carol rest her head
upon Daryl s shoulder, gently running her fingers over the muscled ridges of his stomach. She
looked up at him and placed a hand upon his chest. Did you lock the door? She murmured softly.
It occurred to her that anyone could walk in on them while they were both lying there naked as
the day they were born. Daryl was staring up at the ceiling with a small smile. No. They know
better than ta come in here though. He replied, his voice deep and gravelly. Carol stared up at
him with a lazy smile. I hope so. She quipped. I d hate for Carl to bust in and see us lying here

Why Ipv6 May Be Adopted Later Rather Than Sooner
By this report I would like to explain the reasons for why IPV6 may be adopted later rather than
sooner. This report provides an information about what is IP, brief background on next version of
IP, IPv6. A review of the differences between IPv4 and IPV6, transition to ipv6, the features and
benefits of IPv6,barriers of IPV6,what are the risks will occur while moving to IPV6 from IPV4.
(IP)Internet Protocol:
The Internet Protocol (IP) is the most broadly utilized protocol as a part of web communications
because of its consistent communication technology . such a variety of individuals are relying upon
the protocol, because of the security examinations the IP got numerous patches and modification as
it has been sent comprehensively.
The present utilizing IP forms are IPv4 and IPv6 .Due to a few limitations of IPv4, IPv6 was created
IPV4 Limitations :
The principle purpose behind IPV4 tiredness arrives are more number of web clients and this
number is expanding day by day ,obviously the cell phones which are utilizing web connections are
additionally expanding excessively .
Most of the present IPv4 usage must be configured either physically or utilizing a Dynamic Host
Configuration Protocol (DHCP). so there is a requirement for straightforward and more
programmed designs because of more PCs and devices utilizing IP.

Essay On Stereotypes Of Women
Children today are exposed to large amounts of television. Television is an easy way to entertain
kids for long periods of time without much effort. It is not surprising that they are watching more
TV than past generations have, but this has become a large issue because of how the media
portrays women. In addition to women only filling 28% of the roles on television when they
make up 51% of the population, women are heavily stereotyped on TV. All of the good females on
television shows do not have many speaking parts, are seen as sexobjects for men, are willing to
serve men, and cause trouble for themselves that only someone strong and masculine can fix.
(media reiterate the cultural image of women as dependent, ornamental objects whose primary
functions are to look good, please men, and stay quietly on the periphery of life.) gendered
media: wood This type of stereotyping is not good for anyone but it is especially damaging to
children because they are extremely pliable and their views of the world are not fully formed yet.
When you are little, someone can tell you that the world works a certain way and you will believe
them. Television is showing children that not only are all good women submissive and willing to
take care of men, but if you do not do either... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It does not matter if it is a show for very young children or more mature audiences. The idea that
women are sex objects being brought to people at very young ages is damaging to both men and
women in real life. If women are only seen as sex objects then it makes everyone think that their
self worth is measured by how attractive they are to other people. Since women are told to
believe that their looks are directly related to their worth and who they are as a person it causes
many of them to become obsessed with their looks and even develop eating disorders. It also
causes men to treat them like this and not get to know them as real

Rock Around The Clock Analysis
Bill Haley and The Comets, Rock Around the Clock
Bill Haley and The Comets Rock around the clock released in 1956 is a song written by Max
Freedman and James Myers, it was originally the B side to Thirteen women and gained little
initial interest. I will be exploring why Hayley s song is often cited as being the first rock and roll
song and why it captured young people s attention and imagination all around the world following
the song played over the end credits of MGM film Blackboard Jungle.
I will be evaluating major themes of the period: events, youth, race and technology to illustrate why
I think Haley has a definite contender for that title.
Upon its re release in March 1955 it became the first million selling single in Britain. (Classic
tracks, 2008)
With reports in Britain of youngsters seen bopping ...a sight to horrify parents for the rest of the 50
s (Beckett.F, Russell T, 2015)
Also, reports of rioting were reported when over excited kids ripped up their seats in excitement.
(Encyclopaedia of fifties music, 2002.)
However, there is much debate as to whether Haley did have the first rock and roll record as many
music historians cite Rocket 88 by Jackie Brenston and the Delta Cats as the first real rock and roll
record.
Indeed, Haley himself in 1952 recording the song Rocket 88. (Blues to rock, 1987)
So, who indeed lay can claim to the first rock and roll record?
It s hard to imagine the massive impact rock and roll did have looking at it 50

The Joy Luck Club By Amy Tan Character Analysis
The Joy Luck Club is Amy Tan s first novel. It consists of four sections with sixteen short stories.
One of the main issues of the novel is the relationship between Chinese mothers and their Chinese
American daughters. Your mother is in your bones. (Tan 1998, 30) There is a cultural chasm
between them because of the difference in the way they were brought up and different influences of
the environment.
The members of The Joy Luck Club are four elderly aunties who gather once a week in San
Francisco to play Mah jong and eat Chinese food. When one of the women dies, her daughter Jing
mei (June) is invited to take her place. What will I say? What can I tell them about my mother? I
don t know anything. She was my mother. (Tan 1998, 30) When she realizes that she knows very
little about her own mother she asks the aunties to tell her more about her. That is when they start
telling each other stories.
There is a linguistic gap between the mothers, who are the first generation of Chinese immigrants,
and their American born daughters. The mothers speak only fragments of English and their
daughters speak little or no Chinese at all. So the communication often becomes a matter of
translations and leads to misunderstandings. The first misunderstanding with translation is shown
when Jing mei tries to explain the significance of the club s name, ... Show more content on

cannot express her love directly to her. The bond is also shown in Anmei s statement that, [y]our

Developing A World Class Inclusive Education System Essay
The Special Education 2000 programme was introduced by the New Zealand Ministry of Education
1996. By introducing such a programme the government intended to develop a world class
inclusive education system. The model and aim at that stage was to reform the education system
where children with disabilities could be integrated into the mainstream educationsystem. This
would enable children with disabilities to attend their local community schools where having the
same opportunities as their siblings and friends from their community. In 1996 Lipsky Gartner
described inclusive education as students with disabilities having full membership in age
appropriate classes in their neighbourhood schools, with appropriate supplementary aids and
support services . In more recent years it has become evident that inclusive education should include
the participation of all students in schooling. The system had to be restructured so that the culture,
policies and practices in schools can cater to the diverse needs of all children within the community
that the schoolis located in. Inclusive schools are based on the belief that all children can learn.
They should also respect that children are different and all differences need to acknowledged and
catered to. Policies, systems and the structures within schools should be enhanced to meet the needs
of all children.
There has been a concerted effort made by the Ministry of Education and the New Zealand
government to reform inclusive

Spunk Zora Neale Hurston
Spunk Zora Neale Hurston s short story Spunk was a short story that immediately held my interest
from beginning to end. Hurston provided a gateway to life in her hometown that people could relate
to all over the country and has been able to not disconnect from an audience through the test of
time. I thought that it was interesting that Hurston decided to write a story using the dialect of a
small southern town rather than than proper english grammar and pronunciation. Hurston s
decision to use dialect to enhance her story and for me it brought the story to life. I could picture
the characters talking as it switched from the narrator to each individual , which gave more
personality to the person talking. Zora Neale HurstonWrote Spunk in a very similar setting as the

Estate of Leavitt v. Comm
Facts:
As shareholders of VAFLA Corporation, an S corporation, the appellants claimed deductions to
reflect the corporation s operating losses. The commissioner disallowed deductions above the
$10,000 bases from original investment. The appellants contend that the adjusted basis in their stock
should be increased to reflect a $300,000 loan. The loan was obtained by VAFLA from bank and
was guaranteed by the shareholder guarantors. VAFLA made all of the loan payments, principals
and interest to the bank and the appellants did not. Neither VAFLA nor the shareholder guarantors
treated the loan as constructive income taxable to the shareholder guarantors.

However, they fail to distinguish between the initial question of economic outlay and the secondary
issue of debt or equity. Only if the first question had an affirmative answer would the second arise.
The tax court correctly determined that the appellant s guarantees in itself have not constituted
contributions of cash or other property which might increase the bases of the appellant s stock.
The appellants view the substance of the transaction is over the form . Generally, taxpayers are
bound by the form of their transaction and may not argue the substance triggers different tax
consequences. The Tax Court found the form and substance of the transaction was a loan from the
bank to VAFLA and not to the appellants. The proceeds were to be used in the operation of the
business and petitioners were not free to dispose the loan. Nor were the payments reported as
constructive dividends.
If VAFLA had been profitable, the petitioners would argue that the loan was from the bank to the
corporation. The loan repayments would not be on the appellants behalf and would not be taxed as
constructive income to them. The appellants would jump an effort to play both ends against the
middle until it should be determined whether VAFLA was profitable or money losing.
The appellants complain that the tax court fail to apply debt equity principles. The secondary
inquiry cannot be reached unless the first question concerning whether an economic

Mrs. Smith is a stay at home mom as they just had their first child 6 months ago.
The Smiths chose the home they purchased partly because of its close proximity to many things
such as: schools, doctors and a town that is not too far from them. The close proximity to
everything needed feels like a warm and inviting community setting; therefore, some people live in
a community because it is where they grew up. Others choose a community because it is where
they found work, such as the Smiths were able to accomplish (Jackson Sinclair, 2011).
The Smiths home location has enabled them to budget the 500 mile a month limitation for now.
Urban sprawl has enabled a multitude of families to venture further from big cities into home
communities that are less expensive; however, the distance required to most amenities can be
vast. It is not unheard of for some workers to commute greater than 50 miles per day. This would
not be plausible if there was a 500 mile limitation on driving a personal vehicle. A typical month of
driving for the Smiths has been reduced to less than 500 miles; consequently, this makes the carbon
footprint they produce very small and saves them money along the way. The data presented in
figure 1 above, illustrates that they are slightly negative for the month. This is OK, as the end of

Self Reflexive Aspects of Singing in the Rain Essay
Singin in the Rain (MGM, 1952) is an American musical comedy directed by Gene Kelly and
Stanley Donen. The film comically emulates the transition from the production of silent movies to
talkies in Hollywood during the 1920s. The narrative follows a successful silent film star named
Don Lockwood (Gene Kelly) and his glamorous blonde on screen partner Lina Lamont as they
attempt to adapt The Duelling Cavalier a silent film, into a talking film. However, the shrill sound
of Lamont s voice cast serious doubt of the potential success of the film. Lockwood s musically
talented sidekick Cosmo Brown (Donald O conner) suggests that the film be turned into a musical,

At the conclusion of the musical number Cosmo flips off the illusionary backdrop of a hallway.
This example demonstrates how the text reflects its own making and works to demystify the
illusions of Hollywood. The back stage pass that is granted to audience uncovers the modes of
Hollywood production and replaces it with musical performances.
Throughout Singin in the Rain self referential techniques are employed to signal to the audience
that the film is a metafictional text. The text consciously advises the audience that what they are
watching is not real, consequently disrupting the illusion of the fourth wall. Ingersoll (1999,
p.385) describes metafiction as a fictional text that draws attention to itself as a text in a variety
of ways . An example of this can be identified during the opening scene when Don Lockwood
explains his rise to fame story. The character looks directly into the camera as he speaks, breaking
the illusion of the fourth wall and acknowledging the audiences existence. This technique is
markedly different from the established convention of the audience eaves dropping on characters
that ordinarily function within a three walled environment (Auter amp; Davis 1991, p.165). Singin
in the Rain acknowledges the audience and itself as a work of fiction self referentially, as a result
the audience are no longer voyeuristically watching, they are being spoken to.
The term genre is used within film studies to refer to

important decisions Stark makes in the movie is choosing to miss his own award ceremony and
instead go to a casino and gamble. His decision not to attend and not to inform anyone that he
was not going to attend is significant because it demonstrates Stark s self centered mindset and
that he places little importance on the impact his decisions have on others. Later, when Stark
has been captured by terrorists who demand that he build a missile for them Stark s immediate
response is to refuse, even though they may kill him for refusing. This is important because it
shows that despite Stark s constant disrespectful behavior towards others he does believe that
the lives of innocent people are inherently of value. Stark s decision to fight his way out of the
terrorist camp is another significant decision Stark makes. It shows that he is willing to kill
people when it is not the only way to preserve his own life. Once he gets out of the cave he could
have used the suit s rockets to fly away, but he instead smashes his way through the entire terrorist
camp. When Stark returns to the United States he immediately holds a press conference and
announces that, because he learned that terrorists were using his weapons against US troops his
company will no longer be making weapons. The moral implications of this decision are huge. His
reason is to prevent terrorists from killing people, but his

The Human Effects Of Human Impact On The Environment
In our study about human impact on the amount of plastic in the environment, we discovered
some very interesting results. In our study, we walked through the streets of Sisters, Oregon. We
went into the local businesses to talk to them about their usage of plastic bags or paper bags. We
wanted to see just how much of Sisters was using only paper bags. We asked them to provide an
approximate number of paper and plastic bags that they give out to customers on a daily basis. We
explained to them some of the bad effects of plastic bags on the environment. If the owner was only
using plastic bags, then we suggested ideas to limit the plastic bags, such as a punch card for
those who choose to avoid the usage of plastic bags. We will highlight three of our interviews in
this article, as well as highlight the results of our study. Let us begin with the three interviews
we would like to highlight. The first interview that we would like to highlight was at Paulina
Springs Books.. The employee working was very willing to talk to us about the plastic bags.
When we first walked in, we asked them if they were willing to talk. She said that they do use
plastic bags in their store. The owner does use paper bags in their store as well. The cashier gave
us an estimated number of plastic bags given out daily at about 20. The number of paper bags
given out was similar to the number of plastic bags, at 20 to 22.When we shared the negative
effects of plastic bags, the employee was not willing to

Drunken Driving Case Study
When you are involved in a drunken driving case, it is indeed a huge embarrassment for you and
it results in loss of reputation as well, if you are a public figure. It is a huge dent to your
confidence and goes down as one of the lowest moments in your life. If there is one element that
can make this moment any better for you, it is the presence of a good DUI lawyer. When one is
legally qualified and has enough experience in dealing with drunken driving cases before, he
knows exactly how to bail you out of the situation you are in. You should remember that you may
not walk free when you hire a good attorney to fight your drunken driving case. Nevertheless, you
could be rewarded with lower penalty charges or reduced jail sentence than that... Show more

Also, they could share a personal rapport with the judges or prosecution, and they might know to
turn this goodwill into a reduced sentence for you. A local attorney knows exactly how the court
functions and how it will pronounce judgements in a drunken driving case. Therefore, you must
use an attorney who knows what he is doing and why he is doing so. 2. Great history Before
hiring a legal expert, do a background check on his representation history. Analyse the cases that
he has presented and how many he won out of them. Also, check if he was involved in any
controversial representations in the past that led to his disqualification from the bar. If yes, you
should stay away from such people because they will only bring you more mess than the one that
you are already in. 3. References Choose an attorney who is ready to provide you references
from his past clients and success stories. It speaks volumes about the confidence of a lawyer when
he gives details of his past cases and clients to you. Check with these clients to understand the
expert s style of working, his winning rate, fee structure, availability, team strength and about his
other skills. When an attorney hesitates or refuses to give details about references, it is a clear
indication for you to reject this

Pandemic
Have you ever been in a pandemic? I think the world would end as a pandemic. A pandemic is a
very dangerous situation for people to live in noone should ever want to get caught up in a
pandemic it is very scary and serious because no one knows who got the disease or know one know
the symptoms, how long the pandemic is going to last, if you are going to live or die it s one of the
worst feelings in the world. A pandemic has a major effect on the on our planet earth. It is a

Because the virus is new, the human population has little to no immunity against it. The virus
spreads quickly from person to person worldwide. The United States is not currently
experiencing a flu pandemic. If a pandemic occurs, the federal government will work to identify
the cause and create a vaccine. Flu.gov will provide updates on the steps the federal government
is taking to address the pandemic. Death rates may be high. Four factors largely that determine
the death toll: The number of people who become infected, the strength of the virus, the
underlying characteristics and vulnerability of affected population, the effectiveness of
preventive measures. What you need in order to be able to survive a pandemic you would really
only need to be around your personal family that you live with everyday but sometimes you don
t even need to be around your family, because a pandemic is very dangerous and sometimes you
wouldn t even know who has the disease or not because there are so many people in this world
and sometimes a disease don t have symptoms until weeks or even months later.Water, water, and

Drum Brake Steps
ere are four things you need to know about fixing drum brakes that are different from fixing disc
brakes. If you already know how to repair disc brakes, this information will help you make the
transition to working on drum brakes a little easier.
#1 You Will Need A Few Special Tools
In addition to the typical tools that you use while working on your vehicle, you will also need
three specific tools that are designed to make working on drum brakes an easier and safer process.
Brake Adjusting Tool: This tool is designed to allow you to properly adjust the rear shoe on your
drum brakes. The adjustment process on drum brakes is especially sensitive. If you don t adjust
the brakes just right, you will have to push your brake in extremely far to ... Show more content on

Specifically, you need to make sure that you keep the brake friction surfaces clean. If any
contaminates get on the friction material, you may end up needing to completely replace the
friction material if the contaminates cannot be removed.
If you get oil or grease on the drum friction surface, try first to wipe it off with a rag dipped in
brake parts cleaner. If any contaminates are stuck on the friction surface, you may be able to
remove them with some fine sandpaper and a soft cloth.
#4 Don t Forget To Lubricate The Backing Plates
Finally, when you install the drum brake shoes, you need to make sure that the knuckles the drum
brake shoes rest on are well lubricated. You ll wantto clean the area first with a cloth and possible
some brake parts cleaner. Then you will want to apply white lithium grease to the knuckles the
shoes rest on. This will ensure that the shoes are able to move properly when you installed them.
Working on drum brakes requires a lot of the same skills and knowledge that you used when you
worked on disc brakes. However, the type brake systems are not identical. Keep in mind the tips
above when you work on your disc brake

Mr. Fox Begins Essay
In life, we are susceptible to danger just about everywhere we go. Most people avoid danger at
all costs, however there are certain dare devils who will face danger head on. Have you ever
wondered if some people willingly put themselves in dangerous situations just to explore their
curiosity? If you had to take a guess, would you guess that men or women are more likely to
willingly enter dangerous situations? People will face danger for many different reasons, some
because they are not at all aware of the potential danger, and others do because their temptation is
too strong. In an initial reading, Oyeyemi s tale What Happens Next in her novel Mr. Fox begins
by telling the story of Mary Foxe s planeride back to London where she meets... Show more content

Was St. John Fox intent on speaking specifically to Mary Foxe on the plane ride? Or did Mary
Foxe just happen to be in the right place and at the right time? The way he enters the scene in the
novel is particularly strange and seems to alarm Mary Foxe. She describes his appearance like
this It seemed as he had addressed the words to me, so I opened my eyes. He was sitting to my
right, his whole body turned toward me, his chin on his fist as he studied me. I hadn t heard or
felt him draw near (Oyeyemi 149). The way St. John Fox snuck up on Mary Foxe so quietly
appeared to startle her, even though his intentions only appear to be to engage in casual
conversation by mentioning Only two hours until landing (Oyeyemi 149). Was this conversation
accidental or planned? His seemingly unimportant comment wasn t what appeared to bother
Mary Foxe. While describing his looks from her initial glance up at him, she said He was good
looking. Enough to make me feel uncomfortable. Tall and dark, etc. (Oyeyemi 149). Mary Foxe
specifically stated that St. John Fox made her feel uncomfortable solely based off of his looks,
proving the earlier alternate interpretation of the chapter to be correct that she did at one point see
potential danger in St. John Fox. However, there is no strong evidence to support that she was
extremely bothered by slyness. Another piece of evidence that supports the claim that St. John Fox
had specific intentions of connecting with Mary Foxe

To Kill A Mockingbird Character Analysis
Atticus when they finally saw him...He was real nice
Most people are, Scout, when you finally see them. (a life in Maycomb) To Kill a Mockingbird is
a story about shells distinctions of a person based on character, actions, circumstances, or race that
society uses to define him. A few characters in this novel, though, can see through these shells, into
the person beneath. Unfortunately, the rest of the world is quite different... Harper Lee wrote To
Kill a Mockingbird in the 1950s, a time of excessive prejudice and contempt in her home state of
Alabama. Through carving out her own childhood and the world around her, Lee wrote a novel
widely known as the 20th century s greatest work of literature.

see the outcome that happens when shells are ignored. At night, a group of rough woodmen
approach Atticus, ready to exert force on his defendant. Scout suddenly interjects the group, and
begins talking with a big gruff man, Mr. Cunningham of his work, and his son, Walter. The
gruffness of the group is immediately broken; all the men are shocked. Scout recalls, The men were
all looking at me, some had their mouths half open...Their attention amounted to fascination. A few
moments later, Mr. Cunningham bends down and says to Scout, I ll tell [Walter] you said hey,

Later on, we learn that this incident positively effects Tom Robinson s case. But this natural
perspective evident in children doesn t last. [JEM SHELL] Directly after praising Jem, Atticus tells
him, So far, nothing in life has interfered with your reasoning process...There s something in our
world that makes men lose their heads. So, what is this thing that pushes men to turn into
judgmental beings? We learn that it is a conflict between our natural idea of what men should do
and their actual actions. Jem asks Scout If there s just one kind of folks, why can t they

The Ethical Marketing Strategy Of Pharmaceutical Advertising
What are some of the ethical issues associated with this marketing strategy? Pharmaceutical
advertisements has been the subject of deliberation for more than a century. Pharmaceutical
advertising and marketing make up a large fragment of the activities of pharmaceutical
corporations. These publications can be extremely informative as long as they are analytically
evaluated. However, the data enclosed in promotional material may be scant or erroneous.
Assuredly, the pharmaceutical marketingactivities has a great effect on the behavior of the
physicians however hidden rather than suggested in its script noticeable (Makowska, 2014;
UKessays, 2015). The ethical marketing strategies in the pharmaceutical industryare procedures
used to sell medicines morally. The strategy must be as such that it does not influence the decision
making criteria of physicians. Ethical marketing is usually referred to as the use of marketing ethics
into the marketing process. The establishment of marketing ethics has the potential to benefit
society as a whole and should be considered a part of business ethics in the sense that marketing
forms a substantial part of any business model. Marketing strategies are organized into five
classifications: physicians targeted promotions; direct to consumer advertising; unethical
recruitment of physicians; researchers conflicts of interest; and data manipulation in clinical trials.

The Pros And Cons Of Fast Food
The topic of fast food consumption is one that is quite controversial between those that choose to
indulge and others who choose to make healthier food choices. Fast food corporations typically
offer their customers readily made food options or pre cooked meals. Some of the largest and most
successful fast foodchains in America include, McDonalds, Starbucks, Burger King, Wendy s and
Chick Fil a. All of which are just some of the many billion dollar companies.
If these companies are worth billions, it s evident that consumers are spending plenty of money
within these businesses. Despite always hearing about how unhealthy fast food is, our society
chooses to consume it regardless, which leaves us to wonder why would anyone want to put
something into their body that could potentially harm them? Yet, a fast food consumer could also
argue the same about someone who chooses to to smoke or drink alcohol. The power of persuasion
easily influences consumers to purchase things that aren t in their best interest health wise.
Therefore, many brands and companies utilize different marketing strategies in order to convince
consumers to buy, without quite indicating the effects of your purchase. In addition, most
consumers also succumb to purchasing fast food simply because it s convenient for their lifestyle.
Sometimes the easier way out is enough to assure individuals that they re making a positive choice.
Marketing: Marketing your product is the most straightforward way to

The Four Humors And Their Influence Through Time
The Four Humors and Their Influence Through Time Greek Antiquity was a time of some of the
greatest minds of all time, such as Plato and Aristotle, leading to many inventions and ideas that are
still relevant today, from hydraulics to astronomy. One of the most influential realizations, however,
came from the mind of a man named Hippocrates, as he began the real start of the practice of
medicine. Hippocrates of Cos, a physician in ancient Greece, is considered to be the father of
medicine due to his many contributions to the field in his life. Through research and different
experiments he was able to conclude many different principles, including on of the most important:
the four humors. By observing reactions to different illnesses, sometimes leading the patient to die,
he was able to develop the theory. His theory of the four humors was that the human body was
filled with four basic substances, or humors, that when in balance indicate the person is healthy. If
there was too little or too much of one of the four, a disease or disability would result. The four
humors of Hippocratic medicine are black bile, yellow bile, blood, and phlegm. Before the humors
were introduced, many people believed that the source of illness was punishment from the Gods. It
wasn t until after Hippocrates introduction to medicine that the field stepped away from religion
and into science. The introduction of the four humors led to a continuing line of thought up until
the nineteenth century

Reasons The Trials Of Witch Trials
Were people accused of witchcraft given fair trials? In my opinion, they were not. Based on the
information gathered from the three documents, many of the men and women accused of
witchcraft were doomed before the trial even took place. There are many reasons as to why the
trials were unfair before they even started. First, a big reason why the trials were so unfair was
because of the church. They could use their influence on society to decide who has jurisdiction
over certain areas, giving inquisitors legal power over areas they may not have otherwise had.
Another reason the trials were unfair is the suspected party did not really get to defend themselves,
and even if they tried to, they could be found guilty anyway. However, the biggest reason I think
the trials were unfair was because of the Malleus Maleficarum, where it mentions torture of
prisoners with the intention of getting confessions. The Papal Bull of 1484 was important because
it shows that Pope Innocent VIIInot only openly acknowledged witchcraftas a threat, but also gives
encouragement to witch hunts. Desiring with supreme ardor, as pastoral solicitude requires,
that the catholic faith in our days everywhere grow and flourish as much as possible, and that all
heretical depravity be put far from the territories of the faithful, we freely declare and a new decree
this by which our pious desire may be fulfilled, and, all errors being rooted out by our toil as with

Sales management is connected with purchasing management and inventory control to provide
better analysis of the data. The software supports controls of purchasing materials, orders, goods
receipt and payment.
INVENTORY CONTROL (IC)
The inventory control in Emfibia Limited is another important area. The company has to have
organised importation by having large numbers of inventory. Therefore, the company can start
losing the capital. This is why they require appropriate analysis with stock valuation and the
movement of the goods. Sage ERP X3 runs on similar principles to manual ones, but this software is
more flexible and it is possible to receive the information in real time. Inventory Control is closely
connected with the manufacturing management. The software uses Kanban method of Just in Time
production. The information can be grouped by cost centres, price lists. The important tool is to
forecast the future cost. When the company will prepare new production in six months time, the
software can analyze the actual cost of the production.

The Pit And The Pendulum Short Story
The Pit and the Pendulum is a 1961 horror film directed by Roger Corman , starring
Vincent Price as Don Medina, or Nicholas, as the main character. The film was based on Edgar
Allan Poe s short story of the same name . The movie Poe fans might think that the short story has
some differences from the film, some reasons would be that the short story is said in first person
point of view, while the film has a bunch of different characters. Despite its differences, this movie
deserves to be tagged as a Edgar Allan Poe story because it contains suspense, the language and
some of the sentences they use is very poetic, and the storyline has horror.
The definition of suspense is a state or feeling of excited or anxious uncertainty about what may
happen . One can find suspense in the storyline of the film when Don, Catherine,
Francis, and Doctor Leon go down to the basement, where Elizabeth and the rest of the Medina
family was buried, in curiosity of whether Don Medina buried Elizabeth alive. Suspense is built in
the watching of Francis and Dr. Leon taking pic axes to the cemented and brick wall that stands
between them and Elizabeth s body. When they all finally get into the tomb, they see
Elizabeth s coffin, they start to open it up with a look of fear in their eyes. They finally get the
coffin open and see a skeleton with hair and it s hands looking like it s been trying to claw its way
out. So, they conclude that Elizabeth was buried alive, and Nicholas goes into a depression

I signed up to take this course because of my curiosity surrounding public health: what it is, what
professions one can hold in it, and what its role is in society. Upon taking this course, my
understanding of public health has expanded greatly and I am now able to answer my previous
questions about the field. In class, we defined public healthas both a science and an art, and I
learned that this is true; public healthinvolves scientists studying epidemiology and the incidences

Why Did The Big Bang Happen
Energy cannot be created or destroyed so how did the Universe or anything start. There is a
theory that is called the Big Bang. There is a lot of evidence the Big Bang exploding. There are a
lot of questions that have not been answered yet. Also there is a lot of the Universe that has not
been explored yet.
The most recent saying of the Big Bang is that it exploded. The Big Bang was a little dot
somewhere in the universe. In the middle of the dot there was a lot of heat. It was really hot that
the people that study the big bang say that it exploded because of the heat that was in the middle.
They are also saying that that space is what it is expanding. People who study the Big Bang say
that there is something out there in space that is making the universe expand but they do not know
what it is. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Universe is 13.8 billion years old. There is a lot of Galaxies we do not know about. This is
because they are so far away from our Galaxy that the light from it is taking a very long time to
get to us. The radio waves are getting very hard to hear because space is expanding.People who
study the Big Bang were trying to find the leftover energy that was left behind when the Big
Bang exploded. After a while of searching for it, they finally found it. It looks like and egg and
over the years that energy has cooled down. When they have barely found it, it was very hot.
In conclusion, for now we have to believe about the Big Bang. People who study the Big Bang
are trying to find something else in the Universe that can explain how the Universe started or how
space is still expanding today. The most recent saying is that the Universe exploded and that space

Ontology of Man, Seen by Different Philosophers
The philosophy of man is an intricate and multidimensional
system involving complex problems rationalized by theoretical ideals.
In writing the Oration on the Dignity of Man, Giovanni Pico della
Mirandola approaches this study universally, wherein, humanism and the
worth and dignity of the populace is affirmed. Saint Augustine s
Confessions attempts to explain the truth and philosophies of man, but
does so with a different approach, referring to man as a product of
society self consciously misdirected by his soul. These philosophies
share some similarities while also differing from one another; however,
both share a common purpose: to explain the philosophy of man. This
essay will proceed to juxtapose and integrate the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pico Della Mirandola is fortunate in that he is living in an era
that gives him the ability to bridge the past to the future with the
help of Guttenburg and Press. Previously, books were scarce, but the
discovery and establishment of the printing of these books created the
ability for information to be transferred and shared in Europe (History of Printing). This different
approach granted an abundance and variety of information and finally allowed these citizens to be
able to think and believe in what they chose. What is most important here is that people of
demographics, wealth, ethnicity and gender were given access to the same material. One can
measure the gradual increase to the citizen s access of knowledge parallel to the rising popularity of
humanism. These opportunities created an accord of optimism. Unlike
Saint Augustine, Pico was able to expand beyond theology simply due to
his access to a greater vat of texts and historical events.
Each philosopher has a varying approach to theology, but both
are based on the belief of Christianity. However, where Augustine
believes in the falling of Adam and Eve (where Adam was the one who
committed the original sin), Pico illustrates that one will fashion
[one]self to [a] form [one would] prefer (10, Oration). He declares that Adam, in fact, did not
create sin and it was simply his free

Sparta Go To War Essay
All rise for the beginning of council
Greetings Spartan representatives, Athenian representatives, allies and Oracle.
This meeting has been called to discuss murmurs that have risen referring back to the tragedies
of 430BC 402BC and the possibility of them happening once more; of course, I refer to the
Peloponnesian Wars. Today in council we will discuss the immediate causes of the wars and what
we, as a progressive and united nation, can do to prevent it from happening in the future. The
overview of this section of council will address the following: To what extent did exterior forces
motivate Sparta to go to War?
It is well known that both Sparta and Athens committed awful behaviours concerning the
Peloponnesian conflicts, and as a member ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A preliminary dispute between Corcyra and her colony of Epidamnos escalated to have Corinth
siding with Epidamnos and Athens on side of Corcyra. To add to this, a revolt of Potidaea, a
colony of Corinth but a part of the Athenian Empire, went to Sparta for military help as they
received no further aid from Athens, to which Sparta replied if Athens attacked Potidaea then they
would in turn invade Attica . Another Athenian ally had since then been excluded from the
Athenian marketplace and no ship were allowed to dock at any Athenian based harbour (Rickard,
2011). Due to a military stalemate consisting of the fact that Sparta was not at their best when
fighting on the seas and Athens could not fully articulate strategy on land, Pericles, the acting
general, convinced Athenian troops to retreat behind the city s long walls, figuring that Sparta
would eventually tire of receiving no forceful opposition (Martin, 2000). Martin supports all of
these statements, further stating that disagreements arose in the 430 s over how each of the city
states treat their allies, inevitably leading to a peace treaty collapse, alongside hoe the petty actions
of lesser powers pushed the larger nations, namely Sparta and Athens, to initiate violence. Both
authors mentioned beforehand provide a modern perspective on these conflicts and hence are not
as emotionally or physically involved, providing a lesser biased view. Now, we

Should The Government Be Allowed To Spy On And Collect...
Should the NSA and United States government be allowed to spy on and collect information on
its citizens? The NSA stands for National Security Agency and they are in charge of security and
protection of the United States. Some may ask where the title of privacy comes into play. Some
may say that it is only for protection to keep the country safe, but in all reality should the NSA be
allowed to without question invade of privacy and look through our cellular data over the internet?
The privacy of the citizens of the United Statesare at play today, and this is a game that not
everyone wants to play.
In just the past ten years, not including whatever data collection was going on before this, there has
been over 300,000 National Security Letters sent out to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
How can Americans prevent this? Yes, Americans can prevent this. It is hard to do, but it can be
done. Some of the ways to stop the NSA from spying on your phone you will have to be
technology smart, and some of the ways are fairly easy and are not complicated and take just
seconds to do. One of easier ways you can prevent the NSA from spying on your smartphone is
by turning on airplane mode whenever you play games on your phone (if possible). Another
way you can do this... which is a little more complicated but works a better is by installing https
everywhere. HTTPs can be installed on your laptop which is where it will work best, and if you
have a rooted android phone can be installed on the phone too. HTTPS are a more safer version of
Http. If a website the average person on is http the plugin will change the http to https for a more
safer connection.
Should the NSA be allowed to spy on its citizens? How long will this continue? Can Americans
make a phone call without being worried if someone is listening and should this be allowed. Who
knows if the NSA will ever stop spying on its citizens, and Americans will ever have their own

Essay on Inherit the Wind (Scopes Trial)
The play Inherit the Wind, was written by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee to inform its
readers about the injustice of a law that limited the freedom of an ordinary citizen. This play is
based upon actual events that happened to an individual, John Scopes, in Dayton, Tennessee
during the 1920 s. This famous Monkey Trial not only allowed people to begin to accept new
theories about the origin of man, but also showed that they did not have to limit themselves in other
areas of life. In the beginning of the play, the authors try to lead us into the topic of Darwinism
versus Creationism. One instance was when the character Howard actually told Melinda Your old
man s a monkey! (5) The audience also learns that the accused lawbreaker,... Show more content on

This format also allowed the story to be conveyed without any bias to either side. It is in this way
that the authors allow each side of the case to speak their minds freely. In my opinion the theme s
purpose was achieved through the expression of becoming open with new ideas and leaving the
play as unbiased form.
The author s key style as well highlighted humour, as a comic relief. They used it as a tool to
decrease the stress of the characters and the trial itself. For instance when Brady sarcastically says
to Drummond is the defense showing us the latest fashion in the city of Chicago? (40), and
Drummond strikes back with slapping his suspenders down to attract the attention of the court.
They want laughter aroused in the courtroom. Hornbeck himself is in the play to create some
cynical humor. Though it is not exactly a technique, it did capture my attention how the character
who did accustom with changes and was open to all new ideas ended better than he who was
faithful yet stubborn with old ideas.
What I didn t like about Inherit the Wind does not show to be a historically accurate depiction of
the Scopes trial. The main source for Lee and Lawrence s information was the actual trial record
found in Dayton, Tennessee, dating back to 1925. They did not use all of the characters or
dialogue from the records, instead they elaborated on the actual people and events, also using
reporters stories on the case. The authors

Industrialization During The Late Abraham Lincoln
America is the great exception where people can be born of humble origins and rise to the top to
become the next Abraham Lincoln (Pettengill). However, in the Early Republic things began to
change and industrialization created a huge gap between the rich and the poor and made it hard to
rise to the top. Industrialization changed America from an agricultural country to one based on
manufacturing goods and services. This change created advancement and expansion for the nation
as a whole. Industrialization was very helpful to the economy but was an impediment for the
working class, like Sam Patch. In the book, Sam Patch by Paul E. Johnson, it is evident how
industrialization restricted the freedom of the working class and increased the great divide between
the rich and the poor.
The industrial revolution limited the amount of jobs available and created many unskilled labor
jobs. Free labor economy made it possible for skilled workers to make money by independently
selling their products. Industrial engineers found a way to build machines that were faster, more
powerful, more efficient and more reliable than the human muscle. As seen in The American
System of Manufacturers, Joseph Whitworth stated, the laboring class are comparatively few in
number, but this is counter balanced by, and indeed may be regarded as one of the chief causes of,
the eagerness with which they call in the aid of machinery in almost every department of industry
(Whitworth 226) This machinery slowly

Thirty five years later, the Supreme Court case Plessy vs. Furgeson ruled separate but equal. However, in the 1960 s, the races were separate but far from equal. In Martin Luther King Jr. s book Why We Cant Wait he uses rhetorical questions, pathos, and diction of the word freedom in order to persuade people to make a change in the way African Americans were being treated. First, king uses rhetorical questions in order to get people to think about the way Africans Americans were being treated. He uses the example of two young children asking, Why does misery constantly haunt the Negro? How bad do things need to be for this question to cross a young child s mind? This question is asked by children in order to make people think of how badly Africans are being treated, and persuade them to make a change.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Carol shivered as Daryl slowly ran the tips of his fingers along her rib cage, skimming the underside of her breast, and back down again. He repeated the motion over and again, causing her body to quake with longing. The second time around had been a slow, but amazing, loving. There wasn t a spot on her body that Daryl hadn t traced or sculpted with his hands. His fingers had lovingly worshiped every dip and curve, sending waves of pleasure throughout her body. When she had reached her peak, tingles had rushed through her body, and her vision had gone blurry. All she could feel was the instant lightness her body was experiencing, and the aching throb between her legs. She murmured softly. It occurred to her that anyone could walk in on them while they were both lying there naked as the day they were born. Daryl was staring up at the ceiling with a small smile. No. They know better than ta come in here though. He replied, his voice deep and gravelly. Carol stared up at him with a lazy smile. I hope so. She quipped. • 8. Essay On Stereotypes Of Women Children today are exposed to large amounts of television. Television is an easy way to entertain kids for long periods of time without much effort. It is not surprising that they are watching more TV than past generations have, but this has become a large issue because of how the media portrays women. In addition to women only filling 28% of the roles on television when they make up 51% of the population, women are heavily stereotyped on TV. All of the good females on television shows do not have many speaking parts, are seen as sexobjects for men, are willing to serve men, and cause trouble for themselves that only someone strong and masculine can fix. (media reiterate the cultural image of women as dependent, ornamental objects whose primary functions are to look good, please men, and stay quietly on the periphery of life.) gendered media: wood This type of stereotyping is not good for anyone but it is especially damaging to children because they are extremely pliable and their views of the world are not fully formed yet. Rock Around The Clock Analysis Bill Haley and The Comets, Rock Around the Clock Bill Haley and The Comets Rock around the clock released in 1956 is a song written by Max Freedman and James Myers, it was originally the B side to Thirteen women and gained little initial interest. I will be exploring why Hayley s song is often cited as being the first rock and roll song and why it captured young people s attention and imagination all around the world following the song played over the end credits of MGM film Blackboard Jungle. I will be evaluating major themes of the period: events, youth, race and technology to illustrate why I think Haley has a definite contender for that title. Upon its re release in March 1955 it became the first million selling single in Britain. (Classic tracks, 2008) With reports in Britain of youngsters seen bopping ...a sight to horrify parents for the rest of the 50 s (Beckett.F, Russell T, 2015) Also, reports of rioting were reported when over excited kids ripped up their seats in excitement. (Encyclopaedia of fifties music, 2002.) However, there is much debate as to whether Haley did have the first rock and roll record as many music historians cite Rocket 88 by Jackie Brenston and the Delta Cats as the first real rock and roll record. Indeed, Haley himself in 1952 recording the song Rocket 88. (Blues to rock, 1987) So, who indeed lay can claim to the first rock and roll record? • 10. The Joy Luck Club By Amy Tan Character Analysis The Joy Luck Club is Amy Tan s first novel. It consists of four sections with sixteen short stories. One of the main issues of the novel is the relationship between Chinese mothers and their Chinese American daughters. Your mother is in your bones. (Tan 1998, 30) There is a cultural chasm between them because of the difference in the way they were brought up and different influences of the environment. The members of The Joy Luck Club are four elderly aunties who gather once a week in San Francisco to play Mah jong and eat Chinese food. When one of the women dies, her daughter Jing mei (June) is invited to take her place. What will I say? What can I tell them about my mother? I don t know anything. She was my mother. (Tan 1998, 30) When she realizes that she knows very little about her own mother she asks the aunties to tell her more about her. That is when they start telling each other stories. There is a linguistic gap between the mothers, who are the first generation of Chinese immigrants, and their American born daughters. The mothers speak only fragments of English and their daughters speak little or no Chinese at all. So the communication often becomes a matter of translations and leads to misunderstandings. The first misunderstanding with translation is shown when Jing mei tries to explain the significance of the club s name, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By introducing such a programme the government intended to develop a world class inclusive education system. The model and aim at that stage was to reform the education system where children with disabilities could be integrated into the mainstream educationsystem. This would enable children with disabilities to attend their local community schools where having the same opportunities as their siblings and friends from their community. In 1996 Lipsky Gartner described inclusive education as students with disabilities having full membership in age appropriate classes in their neighbourhood schools, with appropriate supplementary aids and support services . In more recent years it has become evident that inclusive education should include the participation of all students in schooling. The system had to be restructured so that the culture, policies and practices in schools can cater to the diverse needs of all children within the community that the schoolis located in. Inclusive schools are based on the belief that all children can learn. They should also respect that children are different and all differences need to acknowledged and catered to. Hurston provided a gateway to life in her hometown that people could relate to all over the country and has been able to not disconnect from an audience through the test of time. I thought that it was interesting that Hurston decided to write a story using the dialect of a small southern town rather than than proper english grammar and pronunciation. The appellants view the substance of the transaction is over the form . Generally, taxpayers are bound by the form of their transaction and may not argue the substance triggers different tax consequences. The Tax Court found the form and substance of the transaction was a loan from the bank to VAFLA and not to the appellants. Others choose a community because it is where they found work, such as the Smiths were able to accomplish (Jackson Sinclair, 2011). The Smiths home location has enabled them to budget the 500 mile a month limitation for now. Urban sprawl has enabled a multitude of families to venture further from big cities into home communities that are less expensive; however, the distance required to most amenities can be vast. It is not unheard of for some workers to commute greater than 50 miles per day. This would not be plausible if there was a 500 mile limitation on driving a personal vehicle. A typical month of driving for the Smiths has been reduced to less than 500 miles; consequently, this makes the carbon footprint they produce very small and saves them money along the way. The narrative follows a successful silent film star named Don Lockwood (Gene Kelly) and his glamorous blonde on screen partner Lina Lamont as they attempt to adapt The Duelling Cavalier a silent film, into a talking film. However, the shrill sound of Lamont s voice cast serious doubt of the potential success of the film. Lockwood s musically talented sidekick Cosmo Brown (Donald O conner) suggests that the film be turned into a musical, and recommends Lockwood s love interest Kathy Seldon (Debbie Reynolds) perform... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At the conclusion of the musical number Cosmo flips off the illusionary backdrop of a hallway. This example demonstrates how the text reflects its own making and works to demystify the illusions of Hollywood. The back stage pass that is granted to audience uncovers the modes of Hollywood production and replaces it with musical performances. Throughout Singin in the Rain self referential techniques are employed to signal to the audience that the film is a metafictional text. The text consciously advises the audience that what they are watching is not real, consequently disrupting the illusion of the fourth wall. Ingersoll (1999, p.385) describes metafiction as a fictional text that draws attention to itself as a text in a variety of ways . An example of this can be identified during the opening scene when Don Lockwood explains his rise to fame story. The character looks directly into the camera as he speaks, breaking the illusion of the fourth wall and acknowledging the audiences existence. This technique is markedly different from the established convention of the audience eaves dropping on characters that ordinarily function within a three walled environment (Auter amp; Davis 1991, p.165). Singin in the Rain acknowledges the audience and itself as a work of fiction self referentially, as a result the audience are no longer voyeuristically watching, they are being spoken to. • 20. Tony Stark s Ethical Decisions In The Film Ironman Film Analysis Tony Stark makes many ethical decisions in the film Ironman. One of the first important decisions Stark makes in the movie is choosing to miss his own award ceremony and instead go to a casino and gamble. His decision not to attend and not to inform anyone that he was not going to attend is significant because it demonstrates Stark s self centered mindset and that he places little importance on the impact his decisions have on others. Later, when Stark has been captured by terrorists who demand that he build a missile for them Stark s immediate response is to refuse, even though they may kill him for refusing. This is important because it shows that despite Stark s constant disrespectful behavior towards others he does believe that the lives of innocent people are inherently of value. Stark s decision to fight his way out of the terrorist camp is another significant decision Stark makes. It shows that he is willing to kill people when it is not the only way to preserve his own life. Once he gets out of the cave he could have used the suit s rockets to fly away, but he instead smashes his way through the entire terrorist camp. When Stark returns to the United States he immediately holds a press conference and announces that, because he learned that terrorists were using his weapons against US troops his company will no longer be making weapons. The moral implications of this decision are huge. His reason is to prevent terrorists from killing people, but his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In our study, we walked through the streets of Sisters, Oregon. We went into the local businesses to talk to them about their usage of plastic bags or paper bags. We wanted to see just how much of Sisters was using only paper bags. We asked them to provide an approximate number of paper and plastic bags that they give out to customers on a daily basis. We explained to them some of the bad effects of plastic bags on the environment. If the owner was only using plastic bags, then we suggested ideas to limit the plastic bags, such as a punch card for those who choose to avoid the usage of plastic bags. We will highlight three of our interviews in this article, as well as highlight the results of our study. Let us begin with the three interviews we would like to highlight. The first interview that we would like to highlight was at Paulina Springs Books.. The employee working was very willing to talk to us about the plastic bags. When we first walked in, we asked them if they were willing to talk. She said that they do use plastic bags in their store. The owner does use paper bags in their store as well. The cashier gave us an estimated number of plastic bags given out daily at about 20. • 26. Mr. Fox Begins Essay In life, we are susceptible to danger just about everywhere we go. Most people avoid danger at all costs, however there are certain dare devils who will face danger head on. Have you ever wondered if some people willingly put themselves in dangerous situations just to explore their curiosity? If you had to take a guess, would you guess that men or women are more likely to willingly enter dangerous situations? People will face danger for many different reasons, some because they are not at all aware of the potential danger, and others do because their temptation is too strong. In an initial reading, Oyeyemi s tale What Happens Next in her novel Mr. Fox begins by telling the story of Mary Foxe s planeride back to London where she meets... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Was St. John Fox intent on speaking specifically to Mary Foxe on the plane ride? Or did Mary Foxe just happen to be in the right place and at the right time? The way he enters the scene in the novel is particularly strange and seems to alarm Mary Foxe. She describes his appearance like this It seemed as he had addressed the words to me, so I opened my eyes. He was sitting to my right, his whole body turned toward me, his chin on his fist as he studied me. I hadn t heard or felt him draw near (Oyeyemi 149). The way St. John Fox snuck up on Mary Foxe so quietly appeared to startle her, even though his intentions only appear to be to engage in casual conversation by mentioning Only two hours until landing (Oyeyemi 149). Was this conversation accidental or planned? His seemingly unimportant comment wasn t what appeared to bother Mary Foxe. While describing his looks from her initial glance up at him, she said He was good looking. Enough to make me feel uncomfortable. Tall and dark, etc. (Oyeyemi 149). Mary Foxe specifically stated that St. John Fox made her feel uncomfortable solely based off of his looks, proving the earlier alternate interpretation of the chapter to be correct that she did at one point see potential danger in St. John Fox. However, there is no strong evidence to support that she was extremely bothered by slyness. Another piece of evidence that supports the claim that St. John Fox had specific intentions of connecting with Mary Foxe ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Four Humors And Their Influence Through Time The Four Humors and Their Influence Through Time Greek Antiquity was a time of some of the greatest minds of all time, such as Plato and Aristotle, leading to many inventions and ideas that are still relevant today, from hydraulics to astronomy. One of the most influential realizations, however, came from the mind of a man named Hippocrates, as he began the real start of the practice of medicine. Hippocrates of Cos, a physician in ancient Greece, is considered to be the father of medicine due to his many contributions to the field in his life. Through research and different experiments he was able to conclude many different principles, including on of the most important: the four humors. By observing reactions to different illnesses, sometimes leading the patient to die, he was able to develop the theory. His theory of the four humors was that the human body was filled with four basic substances, or humors, that when in balance indicate the person is healthy. If there was too little or too much of one of the four, a disease or disability would result. The four humors of Hippocratic medicine are black bile, yellow bile, blood, and phlegm. Before the humors were introduced, many people believed that the source of illness was punishment from the Gods. It wasn t until after Hippocrates introduction to medicine that the field stepped away from religion and into science. • 37. Reasons The Trials Of Witch Trials Were people accused of witchcraft given fair trials? In my opinion, they were not. Based on the information gathered from the three documents, many of the men and women accused of witchcraft were doomed before the trial even took place. There are many reasons as to why the trials were unfair before they even started. First, a big reason why the trials were so unfair was because of the church. They could use their influence on society to decide who has jurisdiction over certain areas, giving inquisitors legal power over areas they may not have otherwise had. Another reason the trials were unfair is the suspected party did not really get to defend themselves, and even if they tried to, they could be found guilty anyway. However, the biggest reason I think the trials were unfair was because of the Malleus Maleficarum, where it mentions torture of prisoners with the intention of getting confessions. The Papal Bull of 1484 was important because it shows that Pope Innocent VIIInot only openly acknowledged witchcraftas a threat, but also gives encouragement to witch hunts. Desiring with supreme ardor, as pastoral solicitude requires, that the catholic faith in our days everywhere grow and flourish as much as possible, and that all heretical depravity be put far from the territories of the faithful, we freely declare and a new decree this by which our pious desire may be fulfilled, and, all errors being rooted out by our toil as with the hoe of a wise laborer, zeal and ... • 40. The Pit And The Pendulum Short Story The Pit and the Pendulum is a 1961 horror film directed by Roger Corman , starring Vincent Price as Don Medina, or Nicholas, as the main character. The film was based on Edgar Allan Poe s short story of the same name . The movie Poe fans might think that the short story has some differences from the film, some reasons would be that the short story is said in first person point of view, while the film has a bunch of different characters. Despite its differences, this movie deserves to be tagged as a Edgar Allan Poe story because it contains suspense, the language and some of the sentences they use is very poetic, and the storyline has horror. The definition of suspense is a state or feeling of excited or anxious uncertainty about what may happen . One can find suspense in the storyline of the film when Don, Catherine, Francis, and Doctor Leon go down to the basement, where Elizabeth and the rest of the Medina family was buried, in curiosity of whether Don Medina buried Elizabeth alive. Suspense is built in the watching of Francis and Dr. Leon taking pic axes to the cemented and brick wall that stands between them and Elizabeth s body. There is a lot of evidence the Big Bang exploding. There are a lot of questions that have not been answered yet. Also there is a lot of the Universe that has not been explored yet. The most recent saying of the Big Bang is that it exploded. The Big Bang was a little dot somewhere in the universe. In the middle of the dot there was a lot of heat. It was really hot that the people that study the big bang say that it exploded because of the heat that was in the middle. They are also saying that that space is what it is expanding. This is because they are so far away from our Galaxy that the light from it is taking a very long time to get to us. The radio waves are getting very hard to hear because space is expanding.People who study the Big Bang were trying to find the leftover energy that was left behind when the Big Bang exploded. After a while of searching for it, they finally found it. It looks like and egg and over the years that energy has cooled down. When they have barely found it, it was very hot. In conclusion, for now we have to believe about the Big Bang. • 43. Ontology of Man, Seen by Different Philosophers The philosophy of man is an intricate and multidimensional system involving complex problems rationalized by theoretical ideals. In writing the Oration on the Dignity of Man, Giovanni Pico della Mirandola approaches this study universally, wherein, humanism and the worth and dignity of the populace is affirmed. Saint Augustine s Confessions attempts to explain the truth and philosophies of man, but does so with a different approach, referring to man as a product of society self consciously misdirected by his soul. These philosophies share some similarities while also differing from one another; however, both share a common purpose: to explain the philosophy of man. Pico Della Mirandola is fortunate in that he is living in an era that gives him the ability to bridge the past to the future with the help of Guttenburg and Press. Previously, books were scarce, but the discovery and establishment of the printing of these books created the ability for information to be transferred and shared in Europe (History of Printing). This different approach granted an abundance and variety of information and finally allowed these citizens to be able to think and believe in what they chose. What is most important here is that people of demographics, wealth, ethnicity and gender were given access to the same material. One can measure the gradual increase to the citizen s access of knowledge parallel to the rising popularity of humanism. These opportunities created an accord of optimism. Unlike Saint Augustine, Pico was able to expand beyond theology simply due to his access to a greater vat of texts and historical events. Each philosopher has a varying approach to theology, but both

Today in council we will discuss the immediate causes of the wars and what we, as a progressive and united nation, can do to prevent it from happening in the future. The overview of this section of council will address the following: To what extent did exterior forces motivate Sparta to go to War? It is well known that both Sparta and Athens committed awful behaviours concerning the Peloponnesian conflicts, and as a member ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A preliminary dispute between Corcyra and her colony of Epidamnos escalated to have Corinth siding with Epidamnos and Athens on side of Corcyra. To add to this, a revolt of Potidaea, a colony of Corinth but a part of the Athenian Empire, went to Sparta for military help as they received no further aid from Athens, to which Sparta replied if Athens attacked Potidaea then they would in turn invade Attica . Another Athenian ally had since then been excluded from the Athenian marketplace and no ship were allowed to dock at any Athenian based harbour (Rickard, 2011). Due to a military stalemate consisting of the fact that Sparta was not at their best when fighting on the seas and Athens could not fully articulate strategy on land, Pericles, the acting general, convinced Athenian troops to retreat behind the city s long walls, figuring that Sparta would eventually tire of receiving no forceful opposition (Martin, 2000). Martin supports all of these statements, further stating that disagreements arose in the 430 s over how each of the city states treat their allies, inevitably leading to a peace treaty collapse, alongside hoe the petty actions of lesser powers pushed the larger nations, namely Sparta and Athens, to initiate violence. Both authors mentioned beforehand provide a modern perspective on these conflicts and hence are not as emotionally or physically involved, providing a lesser biased view. Now, we ... • 49. Essay on Inherit the Wind (Scopes Trial) The play Inherit the Wind, was written by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee to inform its readers about the injustice of a law that limited the freedom of an ordinary citizen. This play is based upon actual events that happened to an individual, John Scopes, in Dayton, Tennessee during the 1920 s. This famous Monkey Trial not only allowed people to begin to accept new theories about the origin of man, but also showed that they did not have to limit themselves in other areas of life. In the beginning of the play, the authors try to lead us into the topic of Darwinism versus Creationism. One instance was when the character Howard actually told Melinda Your old man s a monkey! (5) The audience also learns that the accused lawbreaker,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This format also allowed the story to be conveyed without any bias to either side. It is in this way that the authors allow each side of the case to speak their minds freely. In my opinion the theme s purpose was achieved through the expression of becoming open with new ideas and leaving the play as unbiased form. The author s key style as well highlighted humour, as a comic relief. They used it as a tool to decrease the stress of the characters and the trial itself. For instance when Brady sarcastically says to Drummond is the defense showing us the latest fashion in the city of Chicago? (40), and Drummond strikes back with slapping his suspenders down to attract the attention of the court. They want laughter aroused in the courtroom. Hornbeck himself is in the play to create some cynical humor. Though it is not exactly a technique, it did capture my attention how the character who did accustom with changes and was open to all new ideas ended better than he who was faithful yet stubborn with old ideas. What I didn t like about Inherit the Wind does not show to be a historically accurate depiction of the Scopes trial. The main source for Lee and Lawrence s information was the actual trial record found in Dayton, Tennessee, dating back to 1925. They did not use all of the characters or dialogue from the records, instead they elaborated on the actual people and events, also using reporters stories on the case. The authors ... • 50. Industrialization During The Late Abraham Lincoln America is the great exception where people can be born of humble origins and rise to the top to become the next Abraham Lincoln (Pettengill). However, in the Early Republic things began to change and industrialization created a huge gap between the rich and the poor and made it hard to rise to the top. Industrialization changed America from an agricultural country to one based on manufacturing goods and services. This change created advancement and expansion for the nation as a whole. Industrialization was very helpful to the economy but was an impediment for the working class, like Sam Patch. In the book, Sam Patch by Paul E. Johnson, it is evident how industrialization restricted the freedom of the working class and increased the great divide between the rich and the poor. The industrial revolution limited the amount of jobs available and created many unskilled labor jobs. Free labor economy made it possible for skilled workers to make money by independently selling their products. Industrial engineers found a way to build machines that were faster, more powerful, more efficient and more reliable than the human muscle. As seen in The American System of Manufacturers, Joseph Whitworth stated, the laboring class are comparatively few in number, but this is counter balanced by, and indeed may be regarded as one of the chief causes of, the eagerness with which they call in the aid of machinery in almost every department of industry (Whitworth 226) This machinery slowly ...
