Ohio University is banning smoking on all campus property beginning in August 2015 to promote a healthier environment. The university hopes this tobacco-free policy will encourage smokers to quit and make the campus area smoke-free. While this will impact many on campus, the university aims to support smokers who want to quit through counseling and cessation programs. Some may disagree with the ban, but overall it is intended to improve health and wellness for all students, faculty and visitors.
