Information Is Important And An Imperative For The Conduct...
Information in this digital age is very important and an imperative for the conduct of business and
commerce; [ ] and today one of the most important result.[ ] The unauthorised access to information
and databases and the constant and reckless methods information is shared and transmitted today has
necessitated that databases and compilations should be protected. It was held in Feist Publications v.

The security and protection of databases and compilations have been advanced in several ways

2. INTRODUCTION 2.1 Meaning of Databases and compilations
Databases in copyright are principally kinds of compilation, and compilations are seen as things that
are being protected . So in defining compilation, we can say that A compilation is defined in the § 101
definitions section as: A work formed by the collection and assembling of pre existing materials or of
data that are selected, coordinated, or arranged in such a way that the resulting work as a whole
constitutes an original work of authorship.
This evidences that the protection of copyright in a compilation emphasizes and concentrates on the
original ways that the data or materials that pre existed are arranged, organized, coordinated and
selected, not the data. In s. 102 the subject clearly shows and comprises of compilations and derivative
works, but only

Bikini Bottom Theory
The series predominantly takes place in the benthic underwater city of Bikini Bottom which,
according to some third party sources, is located in the Pacific Ocean beneath the real life coral reef
known as Bikini Atoll.[14][15] In 2015, Tom Kenny confirmed that the fictitious city was named after
Bikini Atoll, but denied an Internet fan theory that connected the series characters to actual nuclear
testing that occurred in the atoll.[importance?][16] The citizens live in mostly aquatic themed
buildings and use boatmobiles , amalgamations of cars and boats, as a mode of transportation.
Recurring establishments present in Bikini Bottom include two competing restaurants, the Krusty

Accounting/Financial Analysis Of Lowe s Inc.
Lowe s is the world s second largest home improvement retailer and operated 952 stores in forty five
states at their fiscal year ending January 30, 2004. The company is currently in the midst of the most
aggressive expansion in its history with 130 new stores opened in 2003 and another 140 slated for this
year. Lowe s saw 2003 sales reach approximately $30.8 billion, due largely to their focus on the retail
customers and home improvement projects.
Fifty eight years ago Lowe s began as North Wilkesboro Hardware Company, a neighborhood

A more tell tale sign is the quick ratio, or acid test, which has increased year after year. Debt to total
assets has decreased over 5% since 2001, indicating less financing of current and long term debt and
more company assets. Their cash debt coverage far surpasses the ideal 20%, indicating a high level of
solvency with sufficient funds and assets to satisfy all debtors. Asset turnover has more or less
maintained at right around 1.6, signifying a turnover rate of just less than 180 times per year.
Profitability and liquidity ratios are impressive and continue to reflect the company s ability to
succeed and compete with archrival and industry powerhouse Home Depot. The stock market ratios
have fluctuated throughout the period analyzed, largely due in part to world events beyond
management s scope of control and the American public s uncertainty in the market as a whole. All in
all Lowe s is forecasted to continue its growth and upward trend in all indicative areas and remain a
power in the retail hardware, special orders and home improvement market, trespassing on territory
once clearly dominated by Home Depot, the worlds largest hardware retailer. Lowe s is a favorite
amongst institutional investors as their holdings make up 80.80% of common stock issued.
While there may be some concern that interest rates might stifle growth as indicated by a slightly
depressed closing stock price last Friday, Lowe s business model

Central High School Parking Case Study
Game day at The University of Alabama is filled with excitement from students, faculty and die hard
fans alike. They also bring frustration when it comes to finding parking. Two Tuscaloosa City schools
will once again be opening their parking lots for game day parking in order to offer patrons another
option.
Central High School and Tuscaloosa Magnet School Middle will both begin opening their parking lots
for the Saturday, September 9 home game opener against Fresno State.
We have taken part in game day parking since 2010, said Tuscaloosa Magnet School MIddle Principal,
Kristi Thomson.
The middle school charged $10 a vehicle in previous years, but starting with Saturday s game will
charge $20.
We normally park around 100 cars each game, but can easily handle up to 200, Thompson said.

Central High School has been participating in game day parking for at least 20 years and has used the
funds to improve multiple programs at the school.
Four years ago we were trying to find ways to improve retention rates so we decided to use the funds
from game day parking to allow our students to dual enroll at Shelton State Community College and
Alabama State University. This year we have added Stillman College to the list of options for our
students, said Principal Clarence Sutton.
Last year 11 percent of graduating seniors left with 12 or more credit hours earned from one of the
colleges. This year they have 20 percent of the 11th and 12th graders enrolled in dual enrollment.
Before the funds were used to for dual enrollment, Central High School used game day parking to

The Power Of Power In The Bonfire Of The Vanities
Power is the ability to act on your own accord without any consequences to your own well being.
Additionally, it is the ability to influence the actions of the people around you in a way that benefits
you. The influence that power grants is one that allows a person to take control of their life, and
because of this, obtaining and holding power has been a basic desire of all humans since the beginning
of civilization. Power and its influence are clear components of the novel The Bonfire of the Vanities
by Tom Wolfe. In the novel, we find multiple powers that constantly affect the actions of the story s
characters. Some examples of these powers are the power of lust, the power of the people, the power
of the law, and the power of the media. Out of these powers, the power of the media is easily the most
influential power in The Bonfire of the Vanities because of its ability to influence people s decisions,
which is especially evident in Sherman McCoy s trial, its ability to influence the opinions of large
masses of people, and its ability to expose something to a much bigger audience.
The media s ability to influence decisions is the most obvious and influential power that it holds. In
the Bonfire of the Vanities, the media s ability to influence decisions plays a huge role in the
prosecution of the main character, Sherman McCoy, and without the media s intervention, specifically
Peter Fallow s story, McCoy is not indicted, and the case is most likely not pursued by the

Dr Naismith Basketball
Entering its 125th year, basketball is a sport that has taken the world by storm. A fast paced and
physical game, fans and players devote countless time, energy, and money to the beloved sport. From
pee wee to the NBA, basketball has become one of the world s most popular sports. Ironically enough,
the game of shot clocks and three point lines started with one man, a soccer ball, and two peach
baskets. In 1891, in the town of Springfield, Massachusetts, a Canadian physical education instructor
at the YMCA Training School was faced with a problem. Dr. Naismith had a Massachusetts winter to
face, and he did not have a satisfactory activity to keep his students engaged while indoors. He wanted

The game was initially played with peach baskets with a small hole in the bottom for a rod to poke the
ball out, but they slowed the pace of the game as the ball would need to be removed after a made shot.
The first improvement to the peach basket came a year after basketball s invention when the wire rim
was introduced. It was not until 1906 that the metal rim and backboard were made standard
(Basketball Equipment). Also, basketball was first played with a soccer ball. When the first ball was
designed specifically to be a basketball it was brown, making it hard for players and spectators to
track. It was not until the late 1950s that Tony Hinkle, Butler coach and president of the National
Association of Basketball Coaches from 1954 to 1955, designed an easily visible orange ball
(Basketball Equipment). As for size, the ball was first invented, in 1894, to be thirty to thirty two
inches in circumference, but today it has two general sizes, 28.5 and 29 inches in circumference, the
larger size for men s basketball and the smaller for

Genetically Modified Organisms ( Gmo ) Essay
Agriculture has existed for thousands of years and has been able to support the lives of many
individuals through providing consumer goods. These consumer good are constantly being bought and
sold between various countries in order to sustain life on earth. Although past agricultural methods
were seen as natural from farmers working out in the field and growing food sustainably, the drive for
economic gain that society possessed allowed for many corporations such as Monsanto to develop.
The Monsanto Corporation is located in St. Louis Missouri and is known as an American
multinational agrochemical and agriculture biotechnology corporation. (Monsanto Company, 2015).
Monsanto was founded in 1901 and began to create herbicides between 1945 and 1976. With the
success of the herbicide creations, Monsanto then began to develop plants that contained
biotechnology traits known as genetically modified organisms (GMO) or genetically modified (GM)
crops (Monsanto Company, 2015). These GM crops are used for agricultural purposes into which one
or several genes coding for desirable traits have been inserted through the process of genetic
engineering (Qaim, 2009, p.1). The use and expansion of GM crops continues to rise with the United
States being one of the world s largest leading producers (GMO compass, 2007). GM crops were
introduced into society because many believed that this new technology would be able to improve the
quality of the worlds food supply (Conner et al, 2003).

Anarchy vs. Autocracy
Anarchy v. Autocracy
Liberty vs. Security; both are seemingly broad terms, but due to current events, circumstances have
occured resulting in an infringement on liberty because of issues regarding national security thus,
creating problems for citizens and politicians alike. Liberty is best defined as a concept that identifies
the condition in which an individual has the right to act according to his/her free will[1]. Security is
the degree of protection from danger, loss, or criminals[2]. The problem lies in that there are many
different views on what the government s role on the proper balance between the two should be. The
proper balance between liberty and security is an equilibrium unless in specific events or time periods
where ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In certain events, extreme security is needed, and should be completely justified. In order to establish
what is right or wrong without corruption, the public should have the final say on what needs to
happen because they are ultimately the ones who will be affected by these new enforcements. Similar
to presidential elections, a national vote should happen during a time of peace, on what precautions
the government needs to take during these stressful time periods. The purpose of the election is to get
an adequate sample of what the citizens believe their ratio of security to liberty is. A difference would
be the removal of the Electoral College. Instead of having the views censored by elected officials, it
needs to be the raw wishes of the population. The significance of having it during peace time would be
that during emergencies, people get frantic and desperate. Decisions would inevitably be clouded by
fear and overall craziness. Ben Franklin once said that, Passion never governs wisely, and this
certainly holds true to a person s reaction during war or difficult moments. However, the government
will react to what the people want, and will come up with laws or actions that would be beneficial to
our society. For example, Document G is a political cartoon that is about the US Patriot Act. In it, Clay

Security Issues With Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol
Abstract The paper discusses security issues with Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) and
four different approaches proposed to secure DHCP. DHCP assigns network parameters to existing
and new clients. A misconfigured client is a big security breach as the traffic from and to such client
can be intercepted. The two main issues with DHCP are rogue server and Media Access Control
(MAC) address spoofing. The techniques discussed in the paper attempt at solving these problems by
encrypting the plain text send in DHCP, using digital signatures and key exchange algorithms to
maintain data integrity and security.
1. Introduction
Internet grew rapidly over the last few decades. This has led to increase in the size of networks and
number of network devices. The network infrastructure today needs improvement and changes daily,
so adding new devices to network is very essential. The traditional way of assigning network
configuration to clients with the help of a network administrator is difficult. DHCP has now owned the
responsibility to perform this task. DHCP has its security issues because at the time of its development
internet security was not as important as dynamic allocation of the network parameters were [2]. The
major security concern in DHCP is interception of plaintext messages and illegitimate client or server
that compromises the network.
In section 4 of the paper, four different techniques to secure DHCP have been discussed. The first
approach makes use of

The Marxist Formula in Emecheta s The Joys of Motherhood...
The Marxist Formula in Emecheta s The Joys of Motherhood
Marx states that we are truly free only when [people] place themselves in a position to control their
own historical destiny (Slaughter 25).
Britain s imperial colonization of Africa triggered vast change within the tribal civilizations thriving
on the continent prior to European occupation. For the Africans, these changes altered every level of
their culture: language, religion, as well as ancient tribal customs. But one of the most devastating
aspects of the British colonization in Africa was the European economic system: capitalism.
Capitalism left many Africans reeling from its destructive impact on tribal economies. Nowhere is this
more evident than in The Joys of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Emecheta criticizes European colonialism using three approaches: (1) capitalism s separation of
worker and her/his product, (2) capitalism s use of organized religion to reinforce the dominant
economic paradigm, and (3) Britain s conscription of Africans into military service for the colonial
state during the Second World War. Emecheta reveals the exploitative and destructive power of
capitalism by creating characters who sacrifice their identities and their culture to survive under a
colonial system; and the only way to survive within the imperialistic structure is to excel within the
capitalist organization. To accurately examine the oppressed nature of the female characters in The
Joys of Motherhood, however, we must first briefly examine their tribal culture. It is also necessary to
define Ibo culture in economic terms so that we have a benchmark against which to compare changes
that occur within the characters as they move into the capitalist system.
The Ibo tribal system that forms and influences the characters in The Joys of Motherhood is by no
means free from the authorís criticism. The traditional tribal structure from which Nnu Ego and the
other characters emerge is a rigid hierarchical, patriarchal culture; and Emecheta clearly sees the
hypocrisy in criticizing the British paradigm without first

Interracial Marriages In The United States
Diversity in cultures throughout the world can often create obstacles when developing relationships.
However, despite years of desegregation, social and cultural differences still exist. One of the
differences that still exist is the institution of marriage. This is especially true when it comes to the
topic of interracial marriages. Which has been described as a marriage between members of two
different races. Even though, it has not been that long ago since interracial marriage has been made
legal throughout the entire United States. It continues to be one of the biggest conflicts in society
today, considering everyone has their different viewpoints on the topic. Since these types of marriages
are considered to be an exception rather than a norm, many couples continue to encounter various
issues.
Racism has continued to be an ongoing issue in the United States. In the early years of colonization,
interracial marriages were made illegal in the United States. The biggest problem America faced with
interracial relationships arose during the slavery era. During this time period, it became extremely
common for plantation owners to sexually abuse African American women. Many were raped by
white males, which has helped lead to the ugly shadow cast on relationships between black women
and white men (Smedley). When slavery became institutionalized in the United States, several anti
miscegenation laws surfaced which implemented racial segregation on marriages and relationships.

The Constructivist View Of Learning
In any classroom, the constructivist view of learning can point towards a number of different teaching
methods. The constructivist view usually means encouraging students to use active techniques such as
experiments, real world problem solving, to create more knowledge for themselves and then for the
students to reflect and talk about what they did and how their understanding changed. (Educational
Broadcasting Corporation, 2004). This view of learning goes hand in hand with an agriculture
educational classroom that bases their curriculum around the FFA program and the three circle model:
instruction, supervised agricultural experience and student leadership organizations. The FFA motto is
Learning to Do, Doing to Learn, Earning to Live, Living to Serve. (National FFA Organization , 2014)
Constructivism refers to the idea that learners construct knowledge for themselves and that each
learner individually and socially construct meaning as he or she learns. In the views of constructivism,
there is no such thing as knowledge independent of the knower, but only knowledge that the student
constructs for themselves as they learn. According the constructivist theory, learning is not
understanding the true nature of things, nor is it remembering dimly perceived perfect ideas perfect
ideas, but rather a personal and social construction of meaning out of the bewildering array of
sensations which have no order or structure besides the explanations which educators fabricate

The Rocket Boys
The Rocket Boys Homer Hickam Jr. For my reading assignment, I chose The Rocket Boys by Homer
Hickam Jr. It is an autobiography written more like a fiction novel about a high school aged boy,
Homer, who lived in a coal mining town named Coalwood. His father ran the coal mine and wanted
his son to follow in his footsteps but Homer did not want to become a miner. He wanted to grow up to
be a rocket engineer. Homer and his father were never great friends and this built tension between
them all the way through Homer s high school years. This passion for rockets began while Homer was

Socially, Homer always seemed fine. He had a great group of friends the rocket boys throughout the
story. By the end of the book, his social circumstances were even better as Homer was regarded as
almost a small town hero in Coalwood after winning the science fairs. He still had a great group of
friends that he was with since before and during high school and the community liked him and his
friends a lot; this most evident after listening to the people watching the boys drive to their last launch:
Some people saw the rocket sticking out of the window, and shouts of encouragement rang out. The
rocket boys, hoo! We re proud of you boys! A OK, all systems go! . People from all over the county
respected the boys, especially Homer. Homer was in great shape at the end of the book physically,
emotionally, and socially, having stayed true to what he wanted to do, and sticking with his friends.
Personally, I like Homer. He tries to please everyone he knows with whatever he does. He seems
genuine and puts a lot of work into everything he does. One thing I noticed about Homer that is most
admirable is that he did not give up when he needed something. If he needed to get supplies for his
rockets, he would do whatever he could to get them. He would trade for supplies, do

How Does Hamlet Kill Claudius
Hamlet is one of the most famous written books by Shakespeare (Shakespeare, 278). It s second after
Cinderella to have the most number of audiences. It is a well written story revolving around a royal
family and its members greed to inherit the throne through extreme methods. King Claudius kills King
Hamlet by pouring poison into his ears. He then goes on to inherit the throne despite there being rules
against treason and murder. He also marries the dead King s wife after three months of grieving. All
these actions portray how hungry he was for King Hamlet s wife and throne. The dead King appears in
the form of a ghost to his son Prince Hamlet. He narrates the whole story of how Claudius killed him
with a poison through his ears, and he seeks revenge from his son. He wants Prince Hamlet to revenge
his death. Prince Hamlet has a hard time believing the ghost s story but later on, the whole truth gets
revealed in a play he plotted. He feigns madness to revenge for his father s death. Shakespeare, in this
play, delays the whole action of Prince Hamlet killing Claudius for some reasons (Shakespeare, 125).

The Rural Privilege in A White Heron by Sarah Orne Jewett...
The Rural Privilege in A White Heron by Sarah Orne Jewett Sarah Orne Jewett s A White Heron is a
brilliant story of an inquisitive young girl named Sylvia. Jewett s narrative describes Sylvia s
experiences within the mystical and inviting woods of New England. I think a central theme in A
White Heron is the dramatization of the clash between two competing sets of values in late nineteenth
century America: industrial and rural. Sylvia is the main character of the story. We can follow her
through the story to help us see many industrial and rural differences. Inevitably, I believe that we are
encouraged to favor Sylvia s rural environment and values over the industrial ones. Our first
introduction to these competing sets of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another example of the clash between industrial and rural values comes from Sylvia s own memories
and recollections. Sylvia has been on the farm for a year now, but she still thinks about her industrial
existence from a year ago. She wonders if everything is still carrying on in the same way as when she
lived in the town. Sylvia recalls her adolescent adversary: the great red faced boy. I think the great red
faced boy represents the industrial world to some degree because he frightens Sylvia, and when she
thinks of him she wants to escape to the safety of the bushes. Thus, the rural world and nature are a
sanctuary from the industrial world for Sylvia. Perhaps this escape parallels Sylvia s real escape from
the industrial world to the sanctuary of the farm. I think Jewett supports this by writing The thought of
the great red face boy who used to chase and frighten her made her hurry along the path to escape
from the shadows of the trees (133). Again, it is important to consider the woods as a shelter for
Sylvia. I do not think that Sylvia is afraid of the trees. Rather, I think this passage seems to reinforce
the idea that Sylvia is escaping from the industrial world, in her memories and in her values. Yet, at
this point in the narrative, I still perceive Sylvia as a fearful and timid girl. Mrs. Tilley, Sylvia s
grandmother, supports this perception by saying that Sylvia is Afraid of folks (133). Additionally, this

According to XX, common causes of epigastric tenderness include; gastritis, esophagitis, esophageal
spasms, epigastric hernia, GERD, peptic ulcer disease, with or without bleeding, pancreatitis and
hiatal hernia. A gastric ulcer is an ulceration or breakdown in the stomach or duodenal lining. The
symptoms of a gastric ulcer include dull and burning recurrent abdominal pain in the epigastric region
which can be exacerbated by food. Antacids or milk may relieve the pain. In the additional history, it
states that the patient describes his pain as burning. The epigastric pain is relieved by eating,
especially drinking milk, but returns two hours after eating. In this case scenario, food intake,
especially milk is a relieving factor, not an exacerbating factor. The patient history states he denies
early satiety, anorexia or weight loss. He states he has had dyspepsia in the past, but his present
symptoms are much worse. The factors that damage the gastric mucosal barrier include use of non
steroidal anti inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), cigarette smoking, glucocorticoids, H. Pylori, alcohol
consumption and stress. The patient states he has been taking an NSAID (Tylenol) for two months due
to a knee injury. He smokes a pack a day, drinking three mixed drinks a day and has increased stress
due to a recent job change. .So, he has many exacerbating factors for the development of a gastric or
duodenal ulcer. The bacteria Helicobacter

ENTREPRENEURSHIP MINDSET TRAINING TO STRENGTHEN ENTREPRENEUR CAREER:
THE CASE OF CATHOLIC STUDENT UNION OF INDONESIA
Abstract
Currently, Indonesia has only 1.65% of entrepreneurs from the population of Indonesia. This amount
is still very small, compared to neighboring countries, Singapore has 7.2% businessman, 11% Japan,

States, the number of entrepreneurs has reached 11.5 %. To make young people aware of the

Child Sex Trafficking in Southeast Asia Essay examples
Child Sex Trafficking in Southeast Asia The world today faces many problems that are being
combated by many organizations, yet there are broad ranges of challenges that are waiting to be fixed
up but the efforts are not producing great results. One such problem human trafficking has been
affecting many lives through years but through recent decades human trafficking both sexually and
labor exploitation have risen drastically. Especially, in Southeast Asia, where child sex trafficking is a
constant trouble that needs help to be fix. Human trafficking, the movement of people through force
for exploiting them, originates to the start of human civilizations, though to a much lesser degree. For
example, we see an early version of this in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since then the demand for young girls has rocket through the skies. Many believe that the problem
persists because Westerners go to third world countries such as Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, and
Vietnam where sex tourism is highly known. Recently, a search discovered that local men also have a
high demand for young girls. Inclusive, many villages in Southeast Asia have several brothels.
Astonishing to many, the members of those communities in fact accept such places where prostitution
occurs because in those cultures women are subject as inferiors (Meade). Modern Slavery as many
call it has carried on in our world for many years and we still need to overcome it. Today, sadly, child
sex trafficking in Southeast Asia is alarming. According to the Borjen Project, the World Health
Organization estimates that in Thailand there are currently two million sex workers, eighty percent of
whom are women under 18 years. One third of the victims in prostitution were children (Human
Trafficking). Most of the victims of sex trafficking are children and women from minorities. Ethnic
minorities and women and girls from the northern Hill tribes are especially vulnerable due to their
lack of citizenship (Human Trafficking). Legal status counts for the number one reason why people
are trafficked since they do not count with any legal protection from any law and government. In
addition, since the minorities and many other ethnic groups do not obtain citizenship from the

Analysis Of The Book The Joy Luck Club
Jessica Chen
Ms. Churchill
English 2 Honors, Period 0

Reconciliation
Swan feathers. Hopes and dreams. Broken relationships and healing. Though these concepts might
initially appear incongruous, they are all depicted in the book The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan and The
Joy Luck Club film directed by Wayne Wang. Both modes of interpretation show how the mothers
help their daughters solve their problems by explaining the formers pasts. However, while the book
leaves each of the daughters stories open ended, the film boldly creates a happy ever after ending for
the daughters. In both the movie and book, there are powerful bonds between the mothers and
daughters. As shown by these examples, there are many similarities as well as differences between the
movie and the book The Joy Luck Club, but both mediums ultimately seek to portray the same
themes.
To begin with, many events in the film are similar to those in the book. For example, toward the
beginning of both the book and the film, the mothers are astonished when June reveals to them that
she does not know what to say to her sisters about her deceased mother, Suyuan Woo. In the book, the
mothers frantically list out what qualities of her mother June should tell her sisters, such as her mother
s kindness... smartness... dutiful nature to family... hopes, things that matter to her... the excellent
dishes she cooked... (Tan 31). Just so in the movie, during the same scene, the mothers appear

Examples Of Informal Deviance
The extra credit assignment I chose to talk about was the Informal and Formal deviance talked about
in Dalton Conley s book You may ask yourself . According to Conley, there are two forms of
deviance, formal and informal. The informal aspect is one where there is no law being broken but
more along the lines of breaking a social norm. The second form of deviance is formal and this is
where a law is broken and you will be punished accordingly (Conley, D. 2017. P. 191). In my image
above the white man is drinking out of the colored water fountain which back in the 1940 s was illegal
and this is a formal deviance, or crime, which is the violation of laws enacted by society. (Conley, D.
2017. P. 191) In 1896 Plessy vs Ferguson, the courts ruled

Essay On Graphical And Command Line Interface
5. Evaluation The creation of our graphical and Command Line interface came about as a means of
testing our algorithms. Since we were attempting to mine associations from large datasets, it made
sense to test our mining algorithms on artificially created datasets so as to check whether or not our
algorithms were successful. Therefore, we devised the graphical interface to allow us to create
sufficiently large datasets based upon association rules. This allowed us to plant specific rules with set
supports and confidence with in our test datasets. We were then able to run our test datasets through
our association mining algorithms to verify whether or not the algorithms correctly identified the rules
which we had planted with the correct ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
6. Conclusion and Future Extensions This project was one of our top choices specifically because it
approached a very interesting problem while giving us the opportunity to work with a renowned
company. We had the chance to expand our machine learning knowledge, enhance our technical
abilities and get an insight into what it is like to work with a real client from industry. This experience
was challenging as we found out clients can be difficult to work with and sometimes unreliable.
Therefore, one of our main gains from this project is that we learned how to overcome non ideal
situations that arise due to uncooperative clients. We also strengthened our team work skills as well as
our time management aptitudes, due to using the Scrum methodology. As we were very fond of the
idea that stood behind our project, we tried to implement it at the best of our abilities. We wanted to
make it accessible to everyone, not only companies in the financial sector and we had multiple
thoughts on how to achieve this. Unfortunately, due to the limited time we could not put all of them
into practice. One of the future extensions that we considered was changing the internal representation
of association rules and the associated values such as support and confidence. We

Compare and Assess the Three Alternative Theoretical...
The topic of war and peace has become an increasingly important area concerning international
relations over the past decade. Wars varying from Russia s invasion of Georgia, to the United States
involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan placed war on top of international politics agenda. These wars,
along with all other wars, are started for various reasons, which different international relations
theories try to identify. Theories such as realism or institutionalism may have severely different views
on identical cases, and while all theories usually have some degree of merit, opposing theories will
find discrepancies in the views of one another s theories. In international relations, it is important to

A liberal, someone who subscribes to the state society approach, would argue that, liberal theory
provides a plausible theoretical explanation for variation in the substantive content of foreign policy.
In other words, while realism and institutionalism may focus on the formal causes of conflict and
cooperation, such as military power; the state society approach explains state s behavior with regard to
certain contexts more appropriately. For example, why should the US worry about a limited number of
nuclear weapons possessed by North Korea, while countries like Great Britain and France own much
larger stockpiles of nuclear weapons? According to realist theory, states are wary of long term treaties
with other states, and therefore the United States should be worried about those countries that pose a
greater potential threat. As modern politics have shown, this is, of course, not the case. States perceive
threats not in the most potentially dangerous, but in the enemy most likely to provoke war. It is also
important to note, that during the course of history, states change whom they believe to be perceived
threats, another fundamental flaw with both realism and institutionalism. Realism contributes, no
theoretical importance, (p. 535) to the advancement of economic development in international politics,
while a liberal would argue that the economic nature of a state has a direct affect on state behavior.

Societal Roles In Jane Eyre
Class is a social construct that society employs to compel individuals to follow conventional roles.
These societal roles are also dependent on gender as it can be seen in the two novels. In Jane Eyre and
Northanger Abbey, the authors both use the bildungsroman of two young women to illustrate the
confinements and conflicts that the protagonists face as they strive to find their own identity within
societal expectations. In Northanger Abbey, Austen writes Catherine s story in a third person
perspective. By writing in this lens, the story has a tendency to be along the lines of a fairy tale as
Austen writes Catherine s struggle to fit into societal expectations and her own expectations. In
contrast, Jane Eyre is written in a first person narrative ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The narration in the novel generally makes the most contemptible characters as those who place undue
emphasis on social station; and they come from all levels of the social ladder. (McMaster 129) This
can be seen when Austen presents Catherine and Isabella s friendship as a lesson for Catherine to not
trust people too easily. Catherine realizes that Isabella is not who she thought she was as Isabella
abandons her brother for a wealthier man; through this scene, Austen illustrates the inextricable
connection between class and wealth and that wealth is the driving force in people s actions. The
author insinuates that Isabella becomes a villain in Catherine s eyes because she chose a wealthier
man over Catherine s brother. The Thorpe siblings are portrayed in a distasteful tone as Isabella is
continually acting out a script that makes her ridiculous. At the same time, her brother, as trapped in
the stereotypes of masculinity as she is in femininity... (Gilbert and Gubar 130). This again brings
forth the idea that social class is determined by wealth and from Catherine s perspective are not worth
associating with. Other examples include General Tilney being the central villain as he denies the

Aviation Development With Jet Propulsion Projects For...
Through the course of the Second World War, Germany partook in numerous courses of research and
development of weapons systems and platforms that were believed that they could help win the war
more quickly and later hopefully turn the tide of the war. Of these the more ambitious and advanced
attempts without doubt were the projects dubbed as Germany s Wunderwaffen, or Wonder Weapons ,
by the nation s Propaganda network. Several of these projects proved instrumental to advancement of
many people of the world after the war, be such for military or civilian development, and they ranged
between the practical to outright insane in scope. Through the course of this paper I will present and
analyze a variety of these Wunderwaffe projects from different areas of development and what effect
they had during or after the war for technological development. The first topic that will be covered
will be that of Aviation development with Jet propulsion projects for aircraft within the Luftwaffe.
Second will be projects involving several munitions projects that Germany had undertaken during the
course of the Second World War.
Aviation Projects Prior to and through World War Two, Germany pursued numerous projects of
advancement for its new fledgling Luftwaffe, one of such being the pursuit of Jet propulsion and how
to apply them to designs. One of the first of these combat designs with Jet engines was the

How Did The Chinese Alchemists Use Gunpowder
During the Song and Yuan Dynasties, the Chinese developed gunpowder, which made weapons
possible. The creators of this powerful substance were alchemists, who practiced alchemy. Chinese
alchemists had been experimenting with saltpeter because they believed that it would extended life.
They discovered that it could be used to create an explosive powder called gunpowder. The first
weapon the Chinese made with gunpowder was the flamethrower, which used a mixture of gunpowder
and oil. Some other weapons the Chinese created with gunpowder were artillery shell, which were
launched by the catapult. Also, smaller bombs called grenades were thrown by hand. During the song
dynasty, rockets were developed. It used charcoal, saltpeter, and sulfur. The ... Show more content on

The first magnets were pieces of lodestone. The Chinese later replaced lodestone with the iron needle,
which was much more accurate than lodestone. They had learned that rubbing a steel needle with
lodestone made the needle magnetic.
By the Song dynasty, the use of the magnetic compass had grown to include the sea voyages. This
enabled sailors to navigate through the sea without any landmark or point in the sky to steer by. It was
also used to tell fortunes. If you opened a business in the right direction, your business will prosper.
This was one of the sets of beliefs known as feng shui.
The Chinese invention of porcelain greatly impacted the economy. Porcelain is made by combining
quartz and feldspar, and then baking in a kiln at very high temperatures. This resulted in a hard, white
material that could be used to make dishes, bowls, etc. They also learnt to paint pictures on the
porcelain and add colorful glazes to it.
Porcelain became a very valuable trade item. The Europeans did not learn how to make it until the
18th century. It had replaced plates of gold and emerald in China. Today, people still refer to porcelain

David Ogilvy s Confessions Of An Ad Man
Advertising drives today s modern world. Mostly every company advertises their products, whether it
s for food, clothing, housewares, you name it. An ad can make a consumer feel like they not only want
a product, but need a product. The product can become so enticing to the consumer when the ad
describes its many features, or its great qualities, that consumers will proceed to buy the product. This
is how an ad works; the advertising agency wants you to buy the company s product. Without ads, you
would just buy what you believed was best without any influence. Advertising has been around for
ages, however the beginning of what we know as advertising today started with David Ogilvy. Ogilvy
was an advertising professional who some call The Father ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ogilvy wrote a book called Confessions of an Ad Man which reflected on his experiences of entering
the advertising business and how he became successful, as well as how to navigate in the advertising
world.
Confessions of an Ad Man is considered one of the best pieces of advice one can get when entering
into advertising, or really business for that matter. The book is divided into chapters: How to Get
Clients, How to Keep Clients, and a controversial chapter, Should
Advertising Be Abolished? In the book, Ogilvy states, I finally became an advertising agent on
Madison Avenue; the revenues of my nineteen clients are now greater than the revenue of Her
Majesty s Government (2). Ogilvy was a master at advertising, and his wealth proved it. Ogilvy
attributes his success of running an ad agency to the same principles that apply to running a kitchen.
Combining these two practices puts into perspective how Ogilvy s past really did help and shape him
into the advertising professional he became. Ogilvy gave numerous pieces of advice and insight of
how to run his agency, for example advice on work ethics. I admire

Valuation of AirThread Connections
In early December 2007, Robert Zimmerman, senior vice president of business development for
American Cable Communications (ACC), was in his office sifting through a number of investment
banking proposals related to potential acquisition targets when he paused to consider the recent
presentation made by Rubinstein Ross (R R).
Rubinstein Ross was a boutique investment bank with a strong reputation for doing deals in the media
and telecommunications sector. During that meeting, Elliot Bianco pitched the idea of
American Cable buying out AirThread Connections, a large regional cellular provider. The basic
premise of the AirThread ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition to the strategic fit, R R believed that it could obtain a significant amount of debt financing
for an AirThread acquisition. Bianco was confident that the high quality of AirThread s network
assets, its valuable wireless spectrum licenses, and its steady cash flow would merit a debt to value
ratio as high as 45% to 50% based on EBITDA coverage ratios exceeding 5.0x.1
American Cable Communications
In December of 2007, American Cable Communications (ACC) was one of the largest cable operators
in the United States. The company s cable systems passed roughly 48.5 million homes and served
approximately 24.1 million video subscribers, 13.2 million high speed internet subscribers, and 4.6
million landline telephony subscribers. Consolidated revenue for 2007 was expected to be
$30.9 billion with net income of $2.6 billion.
Overview of Cable Industry Dynamics
The cable industry had been rapidly transforming over the last decade as a result of advances in
technology, changes in regulation, and shifts in competitive dynamics. In turn, these forces had been
driving large investments in network infrastructure that require commensurate increases in the
customer base to effectively utilize the new capacity. It was this need to acquire economies of scale
and scope that led American Cable s executives to believe that only a handful of very large network
providers would survive into the

A Reflective Account Of The 30 Day Placement
A Reflective Account of the 30 Day Placement I was given my first placement in a residential care
home for the elderly located next to a busy main road in a small town. Established for over 25 years,
the home is owned and run by qualified nurses who specialise in looking after confused, elderly
residents. It can accommodate 32 service users for residential care and also provide respite care, day
care and dementia care. There are currently 18 full or part time care staff plus domiciliary workers
operating on a 12 hour shift system. I was the first student social worker they had ever given a
placement to so I felt like a bit of a guinea pig to start with. On questioning the staff it became
apparent that they had been wary of my imminent arrival and were unsure of what to make of me. I
found out that this was based on the stereotype of the social worker and in the words of one of the
carers social workers are trouble makers . I put them at rest by convincing them that I was there to
learn about all aspects of the care home and how it fitted in with all aspects of social care. At first I felt
like the carers were putting on a show for my benefit but it became apparent very quickly through
observations from distance that they were genuine in their roles. Prior to the placement I thought I
would be just an extra pair of hands in the care home or that I would be isolated from the day to day
routine as the sole student social worker in the home. I managed to overcome this by

Walmart uses the various BI tools in order to understand how online behavior influences in store

how to harness the knowledge of its associates and make it available and accessible for everyone in
the organization (SAS Institute Inc.). This plethora of raw data, along with the high potential to
improve both sales and HR management is a challenging task which creates a significant demand for
analytics talent.
To combat this demand, Walmart decided to apply crowdsourcing, with positive results (Marr, 2015).
In 2014, Walmart turned to crowdsourced analytics competition platform Kaggle for an army of
armchair data scientists who applied their skills to analytical problems submitted by companies (Marr,
2015). As a result of this competition, the designer of the best solution was rewarded sometimes
financially and in this case the winner was granted a job at Walmart in the technology division.
Wal Mart is always looking for the competitive edge and doesn t limit its BI software use. In fact, Wal

Profitability and liquidity ratios are impressive and continue to reflect the company s ability to succeed and compete with archrival and industry powerhouse Home Depot. The stock market ratios have fluctuated throughout the period analyzed, largely due in part to world events beyond management s scope of control and the American public s uncertainty in the market as a whole. All in all Lowe s is forecasted to continue its growth and upward trend in all indicative areas and remain a power in the retail hardware, special orders and home improvement market, trespassing on territory once clearly dominated by Home Depot, the worlds largest hardware retailer. • 6. The Power Of Power In The Bonfire Of The Vanities Power is the ability to act on your own accord without any consequences to your own well being. Additionally, it is the ability to influence the actions of the people around you in a way that benefits you. The influence that power grants is one that allows a person to take control of their life, and because of this, obtaining and holding power has been a basic desire of all humans since the beginning of civilization. Power and its influence are clear components of the novel The Bonfire of the Vanities by Tom Wolfe. In the novel, we find multiple powers that constantly affect the actions of the story s characters. Some examples of these powers are the power of lust, the power of the people, the power of the law, and the power of the media. Out of these powers, the power of the media is easily the most influential power in The Bonfire of the Vanities because of its ability to influence people s decisions, which is especially evident in Sherman McCoy s trial, its ability to influence the opinions of large masses of people, and its ability to expose something to a much bigger audience. The media s ability to influence decisions is the most obvious and influential power that it holds. In the Bonfire of the Vanities, the media s ability to influence decisions plays a huge role in the prosecution of the main character, Sherman McCoy, and without the media s intervention, specifically Peter Fallow s story, McCoy is not indicted, and the case is most likely not pursued by the ... A fast paced and physical game, fans and players devote countless time, energy, and money to the beloved sport. From pee wee to the NBA, basketball has become one of the world s most popular sports. Ironically enough, the game of shot clocks and three point lines started with one man, a soccer ball, and two peach baskets. In 1891, in the town of Springfield, Massachusetts, a Canadian physical education instructor at the YMCA Training School was faced with a problem. The game was initially played with peach baskets with a small hole in the bottom for a rod to poke the ball out, but they slowed the pace of the game as the ball would need to be removed after a made shot. The first improvement to the peach basket came a year after basketball s invention when the wire rim was introduced. It was not until 1906 that the metal rim and backboard were made standard (Basketball Equipment). Also, basketball was first played with a soccer ball. When the first ball was designed specifically to be a basketball it was brown, making it hard for players and spectators to track. It was not until the late 1950s that Tony Hinkle, Butler coach and president of the National Association of Basketball Coaches from 1954 to 1955, designed an easily visible orange ball (Basketball Equipment). As for size, the ball was first invented, in 1894, to be thirty to thirty two inches in circumference, but today it has two general sizes, 28.5 and 29 inches in circumference, the larger size for men s basketball and the smaller for ... These consumer good are constantly being bought and sold between various countries in order to sustain life on earth. Although past agricultural methods were seen as natural from farmers working out in the field and growing food sustainably, the drive for economic gain that society possessed allowed for many corporations such as Monsanto to develop. The Monsanto Corporation is located in St. Louis Missouri and is known as an American multinational agrochemical and agriculture biotechnology corporation. (Monsanto Company, 2015). Monsanto was founded in 1901 and began to create herbicides between 1945 and 1976. With the success of the herbicide creations, Monsanto then began to develop plants that contained biotechnology traits known as genetically modified organisms (GMO) or genetically modified (GM) crops (Monsanto Company, 2015). These GM crops are used for agricultural purposes into which one or several genes coding for desirable traits have been inserted through the process of genetic engineering (Qaim, 2009, p.1). The use and expansion of GM crops continues to rise with the United States being one of the world s largest leading producers (GMO compass, 2007). GM crops were introduced into society because many believed that this new technology would be able to improve the quality of the worlds food supply (Conner et al, 2003). ... Autocracy Liberty vs. Security; both are seemingly broad terms, but due to current events, circumstances have occured resulting in an infringement on liberty because of issues regarding national security thus, creating problems for citizens and politicians alike. Liberty is best defined as a concept that identifies the condition in which an individual has the right to act according to his/her free will[1]. Security is the degree of protection from danger, loss, or criminals[2]. The problem lies in that there are many different views on what the government s role on the proper balance between the two should be. The proper balance between liberty and security is an equilibrium unless in specific events or time periods where ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In certain events, extreme security is needed, and should be completely justified. In order to establish what is right or wrong without corruption, the public should have the final say on what needs to happen because they are ultimately the ones who will be affected by these new enforcements. Similar to presidential elections, a national vote should happen during a time of peace, on what precautions the government needs to take during these stressful time periods. The purpose of the election is to get an adequate sample of what the citizens believe their ratio of security to liberty is. A difference would be the removal of the Electoral College. Instead of having the views censored by elected officials, it needs to be the raw wishes of the population. The significance of having it during peace time would be that during emergencies, people get frantic and desperate. Decisions would inevitably be clouded by fear and overall craziness. Ben Franklin once said that, Passion never governs wisely, and this certainly holds true to a person s reaction during war or difficult moments. However, the government will react to what the people want, and will come up with laws or actions that would be beneficial to our society. • 11. Security Issues With Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol Abstract The paper discusses security issues with Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) and four different approaches proposed to secure DHCP. DHCP assigns network parameters to existing and new clients. A misconfigured client is a big security breach as the traffic from and to such client can be intercepted. The two main issues with DHCP are rogue server and Media Access Control (MAC) address spoofing. The techniques discussed in the paper attempt at solving these problems by encrypting the plain text send in DHCP, using digital signatures and key exchange algorithms to maintain data integrity and security. 1. Introduction Internet grew rapidly over the last few decades. This has led to increase in the size of networks and number of network devices. The network infrastructure today needs improvement and changes daily, so adding new devices to network is very essential. The traditional way of assigning network configuration to clients with the help of a network administrator is difficult. DHCP has now owned the responsibility to perform this task. DHCP has its security issues because at the time of its development internet security was not as important as dynamic allocation of the network parameters were [2]. The major security concern in DHCP is interception of plaintext messages and illegitimate client or server that compromises the network. In section 4 of the paper, four different techniques to secure DHCP have been discussed. The first approach makes use of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Marxist Formula in Emecheta s The Joys of Motherhood Marx states that we are truly free only when [people] place themselves in a position to control their own historical destiny (Slaughter 25). Britain s imperial colonization of Africa triggered vast change within the tribal civilizations thriving on the continent prior to European occupation. For the Africans, these changes altered every level of their culture: language, religion, as well as ancient tribal customs. But one of the most devastating aspects of the British colonization in Africa was the European economic system: capitalism. Capitalism left many Africans reeling from its destructive impact on tribal economies. Nowhere is this more evident than in The Joys of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Emecheta criticizes European colonialism using three approaches: (1) capitalism s separation of worker and her/his product, (2) capitalism s use of organized religion to reinforce the dominant economic paradigm, and (3) Britain s conscription of Africans into military service for the colonial state during the Second World War. Emecheta reveals the exploitative and destructive power of capitalism by creating characters who sacrifice their identities and their culture to survive under a colonial system; and the only way to survive within the imperialistic structure is to excel within the capitalist organization. To accurately examine the oppressed nature of the female characters in The Joys of Motherhood, however, we must first briefly examine their tribal culture. It is also necessary to define Ibo culture in economic terms so that we have a benchmark against which to compare changes that occur within the characters as they move into the capitalist system. The Ibo tribal system that forms and influences the characters in The Joys of Motherhood is by no means free from the authorís criticism. The traditional tribal structure from which Nnu Ego and the other characters emerge is a rigid hierarchical, patriarchal culture; and Emecheta clearly sees the hypocrisy in criticizing the British paradigm without first ... This is especially true when it comes to the topic of interracial marriages. Which has been described as a marriage between members of two different races. Even though, it has not been that long ago since interracial marriage has been made legal throughout the entire United States. It continues to be one of the biggest conflicts in society today, considering everyone has their different viewpoints on the topic. Since these types of marriages are considered to be an exception rather than a norm, many couples continue to encounter various issues. Racism has continued to be an ongoing issue in the United States. In the early years of colonization, interracial marriages were made illegal in the United States. The biggest problem America faced with interracial relationships arose during the slavery era. During this time period, it became extremely common for plantation owners to sexually abuse African American women. Many were raped by white males, which has helped lead to the ugly shadow cast on relationships between black women and white men (Smedley). When slavery became institutionalized in the United States, several anti miscegenation laws surfaced which implemented racial segregation on marriages and relationships. ... (Rama, pag.42, 1998). • 16. The Constructivist View Of Learning In any classroom, the constructivist view of learning can point towards a number of different teaching methods. The constructivist view usually means encouraging students to use active techniques such as experiments, real world problem solving, to create more knowledge for themselves and then for the students to reflect and talk about what they did and how their understanding changed. (Educational Broadcasting Corporation, 2004). This view of learning goes hand in hand with an agriculture educational classroom that bases their curriculum around the FFA program and the three circle model: instruction, supervised agricultural experience and student leadership organizations. The FFA motto is Learning to Do, Doing to Learn, Earning to Live, Living to Serve. (National FFA Organization , 2014) Constructivism refers to the idea that learners construct knowledge for themselves and that each learner individually and socially construct meaning as he or she learns. In the views of constructivism, there is no such thing as knowledge independent of the knower, but only knowledge that the student constructs for themselves as they learn. According the constructivist theory, learning is not understanding the true nature of things, nor is it remembering dimly perceived perfect ideas perfect ideas, but rather a personal and social construction of meaning out of the bewildering array of sensations which have no order or structure besides the explanations which educators fabricate ... The Rocket Boys The Rocket Boys Homer Hickam Jr. For my reading assignment, I chose The Rocket Boys by Homer Hickam Jr. It is an autobiography written more like a fiction novel about a high school aged boy, Homer, who lived in a coal mining town named Coalwood. His father ran the coal mine and wanted his son to follow in his footsteps but Homer did not want to become a miner. He wanted to grow up to be a rocket engineer. Homer and his father were never great friends and this built tension between them all the way through Homer s high school years. He still had a great group of friends that he was with since before and during high school and the community liked him and his friends a lot; this most evident after listening to the people watching the boys drive to their last launch: Some people saw the rocket sticking out of the window, and shouts of encouragement rang out. The rocket boys, hoo! We re proud of you boys! A OK, all systems go! . People from all over the county respected the boys, especially Homer. Homer was in great shape at the end of the book physically, emotionally, and socially, having stayed true to what he wanted to do, and sticking with his friends. Personally, I like Homer. He tries to please everyone he knows with whatever he does. He seems genuine and puts a lot of work into everything he does. The Rural Privilege in A White Heron by Sarah Orne Jewett Sarah Orne Jewett s A White Heron is a brilliant story of an inquisitive young girl named Sylvia. Jewett s narrative describes Sylvia s experiences within the mystical and inviting woods of New England. I think a central theme in A White Heron is the dramatization of the clash between two competing sets of values in late nineteenth century America: industrial and rural. Sylvia is the main character of the story. We can follow her through the story to help us see many industrial and rural differences. Inevitably, I believe that we are encouraged to favor Sylvia s rural environment and values over the industrial ones. Our first introduction to these competing sets of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another example of the clash between industrial and rural values comes from Sylvia s own memories and recollections. Sylvia has been on the farm for a year now, but she still thinks about her industrial existence from a year ago. She wonders if everything is still carrying on in the same way as when she lived in the town. Sylvia recalls her adolescent adversary: the great red faced boy. I think the great red faced boy represents the industrial world to some degree because he frightens Sylvia, and when she thinks of him she wants to escape to the safety of the bushes. Thus, the rural world and nature are a sanctuary from the industrial world for Sylvia. Perhaps this escape parallels Sylvia s real escape from the industrial world to the sanctuary of the farm. I think Jewett supports this by writing The thought of the great red face boy who used to chase and frighten her made her hurry along the path to escape from the shadows of the trees (133). Again, it is important to consider the woods as a shelter for Sylvia. I do not think that Sylvia is afraid of the trees. Rather, I think this passage seems to reinforce the idea that Sylvia is escaping from the industrial world, in her memories and in her values. Yet, at this point in the narrative, I still perceive Sylvia as a fearful and timid girl. Mrs. Tilley, Sylvia s grandmother, supports this perception by saying that Sylvia is Afraid of folks (133). In other words, while realism and institutionalism may focus on the formal causes of conflict and cooperation, such as military power; the state society approach explains state s behavior with regard to certain contexts more appropriately. For example, why should the US worry about a limited number of nuclear weapons possessed by North Korea, while countries like Great Britain and France own much larger stockpiles of nuclear weapons? According to realist theory, states are wary of long term treaties with other states, and therefore the United States should be worried about those countries that pose a greater potential threat. As modern politics have shown, this is, of course, not the case. States perceive threats not in the most potentially dangerous, but in the enemy most likely to provoke war. It is also important to note, that during the course of history, states change whom they believe to be perceived threats, another fundamental flaw with both realism and institutionalism. In Northanger Abbey, Austen writes Catherine s story in a third person perspective. Catherine realizes that Isabella is not who she thought she was as Isabella abandons her brother for a wealthier man; through this scene, Austen illustrates the inextricable connection between class and wealth and that wealth is the driving force in people s actions.
