Why The Act Of Preserving Restoring Historic Structures Is...
This paper will attempt to argue why the act of preserving and restoring historic structures is a much
better option than demolishing them. The essay will use the powerful tool of reliable and relevant
sources to support the essay s claim about historic restoration. In addition, this argument will present
the opposition s claims and why they may or may not be correct in the process of improving a historic
structure. The essay will separate the ideological differences between demolishing structures and
restoring them. Initially, this paper will introduce the main underlying problem with the opposing
argument. Then, the paper will establish two main points as to why the restoring of these historic
structures is a much better option. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Building demolition is never the answer, and restoration will always be the better option. This will
ensure we can save and remember how societies of those who lived before us built their buildings.
Although there are many ways building restoration will always be the better option, one crucial way is
that restoration preserves the cultural identity of a structure, while demolition destroys it. At this
moment, there might be a question raised: What exactly is the cultural identity of a structure or
building? Well, that is actually quite simple. When we speak of historic structures, we typically are
referring to those that are very, very aged structures that have a magnitude of uniqueness to them.
Therefore, reflecting the culture of the time period which they were created in. But, if that historic
structure is demolished, how would that reflected culture ever be remembered? That s just it, it wouldn
t be able to be remembered, and that s where the underlying problem is. Like what I ve just
mentioned, Washington Trust For Historic Preservation stated in their Benefits for Historic
Preservation article, By preserving historic structures, we are able to share the very spaces and
environments in which the generations before us lived. Historic preservation is the visual and tangible
conservation of cultural identity (para. 3). Essentially, demolition results in destruction of this cultural
identity and as I personally

Essay about Challenges Associated with Teaching Emergency...
Introduction In this module I would briefly discuss the challenges associated with teaching in
Emergency Medicine (EM), how these challenges influences my approach to teaching in EM. I would
describe what teaching and learning methods I adapted to in EM to address the learning outcomes of
the trainee doctors. Finally I would aim to reflect on the approach and methods used and my role in
the process. Challenges in EM EM is highly attractive specialty. Internationally, EM residencies rank
among the top few specialties attracting junior doctors of the highest calibre in large numbers (College
of Emergency Medicine EM Taskforce interim report 2012). On the other hand, College of emergency
medicine highlighted concerns about junior doctors EM ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In my experience, small group tends to be more interactive, engaging and have opportunity to
reflect/recall their experiences. The topic given to me to cover junior doctors curriculum was on head
injuries. The time to teach was when they were in the middle of the placements so they must have seen
common head injuries presentation in EM. Aim of the session was to competently manage any patient
with head injury. Objective was demonstrating knowledge needed to take 1) history, 2) knowledge to
perform examination and 3) knowledge to manage a patient with head injury. Rather than giving
lecture to achieve these three objectives, I wanted to explore their clinical experiences of seeing the
head injury patient in ED first. It should start with interaction and giving them opportunity to recall
their knowledge and experience. This has two distinct advantages one is that I would have opportunity
of knowing about the learners, what stage they are and what they need to learn at this stage without
giving them any extra information and secondly after their recall, they have opportunity to build on
their existing knowledge. In order to achieve above, I wrote three common head injury presentation
(see appendix 1), to cover different age groups, a junior doctor can come across in Hospital or in
Community. Each presentation was divided into three headings History, Examination and

Benefits Of Living In A Shared House In College
Living in a shared house while you are in college is for sure your life experience. Either you have
great, good or not that good experience, there is a high possibility that what you experience in a shared
house remain in your memories for the rest of your life. One of the reasons might be the fact that you
have to live with people that probably you had never seen before. Moreover, those people can be from
different parts of the country. But whatever the reason, anyone who study far from his or her
hometown has a strong impact on his or her life, where very positive o very negative.
When a person move to another city because of college, positively influenced by the change. First of
all because it is a great opportunity to expand someone s friendship, for example if the person move to
a house where there are ten other students, which are usually from different towns or cities, it is a
chance to have ten more friends. At the same time, it allows to know more about those owns, because
despite the fact that they are in the same country and even in the same region, there are slight cultural
differences such as different names for the same fruit for example.
On the other hand, people s experience living in a shared house may not be the best, especially for
those ones who had never been left home. For them, it might be really difficult because usually they
are not used to do housework, and as they are on they are on they own, they might experience some
frustration. For example, a

Rhetorical Speech In Toussaint-Louverture
In 1861 Wendell Phillips a white abolitionist wrote a passionate speech about Toussaint Louverture
near the beginning of the Civil War. Phillips wrote the speech to persuade Northerners to allow
African Americans to join the military. Toussaint Louverture was a former slave turned Haitian
general who led a revolt to liberate enslaved Haitians. In the speech Phillips uses rhetorical devices,
such as: juxtaposition, logos, ethos, allusions, and antithesis to convince Northerners African
Americans are more than capable of serving in the military. Phillips starts his speech by making
allusions to past military leaders for instance George Washington, and Napoleon. Phillips alludes to
the love France has for Napoleon and the love America has for Washington, which also brings about
pathos in Americans. Phillips conveys this through lines like If I stood here tonight to tell the story of
Napoleon, I should take it from the lips of Frenchmen, who find no language rich enough to paint the
great captain of the nineteenth century. Were I here to tell you the story of Washington, I should take it
from your hearts you, who think no marble white enough on which to carve the name of the Father of
his Country. Directly after, Phillips states I am about to tell you the story of a Negro who has left
hardly one written line. Phillips does this to illustrate just because Washington and Napoleon were
highly favored and remembered does not mean those men were more skilled than Toussaint. Toussaint
wasn t remembered as being on the same military level of Washington or Napoleon because Toussaint
had testimonies written about him by his the British, French, and Spanish. All those countries despised
Toussaint because he defeated them in battle, so by Phillips adding these details he hopes it ll make
the Northerners realize African Americans have already been talented in military aspects, but the
stories went untold because men like Toussaint were hated and lied about by their enemies. Phillips
goes on to say Were I here to tell you the story of Washington, I should take it from your hearts you,
who think no marble white enough on which to carve the name of the Father of his Country, and I am
about to tell you the story of a

French War Religion
Religion has impacted the world since the beginning of time. For many years, religion controlled how
the world was run. Countries were led by the churches, and the citizens followed that religion and that
religion alone. Many wars have been fought throughout history simply because of religious beliefs.
One event that had a tremendous religious impact on the world was the French Wars of Religion that
occurred from 1562 1598. At the time, France was at a civil war between the Catholic monarchy and
the Protestant citizens. The events of the French Wars of Religion changed not only France but the
entire worlds thinking on religious views.

thousands of terror stricken followers thinned the ranks of the French Protestantism (Diefendorf, 1985,

Grant s Tom Smith And His Incredible Bread Machine
America is accurately described in R.W. Grant s Tom Smith and His Incredible Bread Machine . This
thesis is supported by three contentions. First, the poem effectively describes the expansion of
American government. Second, Tom Smith and His Incredible Bread Machine precisely chronicles the
flow of the economy in America. Finally, R.W. Grant s influential poem outlines a shift in American
values. First, the poem effectively describes the expansion of American government. When the
founding fathers created the United States Constitution in 1787, they devised a document that
established America s national government, created the country s fundamental laws, and, ultimately,
guaranteed basic rights for citizens. The carefully constructed Constitution provided an important
balance between the governing styles of the controlling British monarchy and the weak, relaxed, and
unauthoritative Articles of Confederation. The Constitution provided three branches known as the
legislative branch, executive branch, and judicial branch; this critical balance of powers prevented the
federal government from exercising control outside of its respective boundaries. The implemented
confines commendably restricted American government. The Progressive Era (1890 1920) was a
period of dramatic political reform. During those thirty years the government at the federal, state, and
local level grew in scope, power, and activism. The reason for such growth was, according to George
Brown Tindall and

Clarkson Refugees Research Paper
As I sat on the back bench of a 12 passenger van with a coffee in my hand and my head on the back of
the seat in front of me, I realized I had nothing left to give. All of energy was gone. I had come to the
end of myself. We were driving down a bumpy road to an apartment complex filled with new faces
from far away countries. As we drove I realized how much we had been doing every day and the
weight of the things we had seen started to sink in. The refugees of Clarkson, Georgia had been
through so much and I was getting a small glimpse into their lives during this week. However, it was
Thursday afternoon and I was tired. We had been helping kids in the school all morning, then explored
and ate at an international market, and my stomach was starting to turn from the ethnic food we had
eaten. As we drove along and our leader described the after school program we would be working
with I realized how physically exhausted I was. I began to pray for strength from God, and I told him

Examples Of My Roots
My Roots: I am a Corn Stalk
I am a corn stalk. Now, I bet you are wondering why I would compare myself to something as bizarre
as a field crop, but I have my reasons. No, not just because I am watered and feed as needed, receive
sunlight by playing and working outside, and am fertilized with the rich nourishment of wisdom that
my parents and grandparents provide. And I may be tall (5 9 , to be exact), but that is not where the
comparisons end; there are many more similarities. Similar to corn, my roots run deep in the soil I
have grown up in, and have become the foundation for who I am.
Johnstown, Colorado has been the home of Klein Farms for three generations (four, if you count me),
so I have grown up with agriculture since day one. Growing up, I loved to play around with the
tractors as I watched my dad and grandpa tinker with equipment. I still remember running out into the
field when the leaves started to change to pick the first ear of sweet corn off the stalk. Some days, I
even got to sit in the tractor with my dad as he plowed the fields, ... Show more content on

I have been fortunate enough to celebrate the rewards of having an amazing harvest. Unfortunately, I
have also learned from the misfortunes that result from a rough season. Agriculture is so deeply
embedded within my life that even the only income that my family receives comes from the industry,
since my dad works as a seed research technician for Hilleshög, and my mom is a stay at home parent.
This means my family of six relies heavily on agriculture to survive, so I m no stranger to the
hardships that come along with it. Although this is a real factor of the industry, all of this has only
increased my passion for agriculture. Witnessing my dad work hard and with determination and
perseverance to keep our family going is something I have always admired and has also become one
of the deciding factors for my future

helps to secure information to not be looked at. Securing information stored and allowing only certain
users to look at it are the main components to protect. Now, computers and technology are a part of
our everyday life that we do not see the protection happening in the background. To understand this

examples of secure information. An OS needs to have different levels of security built in that helps
protect this sensitive information. For some users and companies, they have very personal information

someone. A computer stores what is sent, if an attacker was able to get past the password they would

A Comparison of Film and Novel Versions of Frankenstein Essay
A Comparison of Film and Novel Versions of Frankenstein
The nature of horror stories gives the reader/audience a feeling of intense fear, shock or disgust. It
creates an atmosphere of tension for the reader/audience. Horror stories are designed to entertain
people by causing enjoyable feelings of horror.
The purposes of the films/novel: In James Whale version and Mary Shelley s novel the purpose was to
scare the reader/audience. In Mel Brooks Frankenstein the purpose of the film was to entertain to
create humour, to make the audience laugh. Kenneth Branagh s film the purpose was to scare and
shock the audience. The film shocks people because it shows what humans can do to nature.

The film Young Frankenstein directed by Mel Brooks, 1974 Young Frankenstein is a series of
hilarious humour scenes. To create humour exaggerated dialogue was used. This exaggeration made
the dialogue sound ridiculous. When Frankenstein said throw the first switch then the second and

Ethical Dilemma Of Mandatory Vaccinations
Introduction
The classic essay Tragedy of the Commons describes the dilemma society faces when the interests of
a group conflicts with the interests of individuals (Hardin, 1968). The example presented is that of a
group of cattle ranchers commingling their cattle in a common pasture. At full capacity, each cattle
owner still has an incentive to include additional cattle, since the slight decrease in overall yield per
animal is offset by the additional animal. Unfortunately, this overgrazing inevitably leads to failure of
the commons. The community goal of maximizing food production can only be achieved by placing
controls on the interests of the individual cattle ranchers in favor of those of the community (Hardin,
1968). This paper is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is called an immune response. Vaccination is an attempt to manipulate the immune system to
provide protection from disease caused by a pathogen without subjecting the person to the actual
disease. The cowpox virus was sufficiently similar to the smallpox virus that if an individual were
exposed to cowpox, the person would develop antibodies that would subsequently attack and disable
the smallpox virus. This basic principle discovered by Jenner over two hundred and fifty years ago is
used today to develop the dozens of vaccines we take for granted.
What Is Herd Immunity?
The term herd immunity first appeared in a paper published in 1923, entitled The Spread Of Bacterial
Infection The Problem Of Herd Immunity (Topley Wilson, 1923). Herd immunity refers to the
protection of populations from infection, which is brought about by the presence of immune
individuals (Anderson May, 1985). Herd immunity occurs when the proportion of people in a
population that has immunity to a pathogen is so high, the pathogen cannot find enough susceptible
hosts to infect and consequently can no longer survive (Coico Sunshine, 2015).
For example, if only 50% of a population has immunity to pathogen X, the chances of an infected
person coming in contact with a susceptible person to pass along pathogen X, is one in two. On the
other hand, if 90% of

Trail Creative Writing
It was dark. No city lights were visible from the forest trail; the only light source was the dim light of
the crescent moon in the clear night sky. A lone hiker walked down the trail in the night. The trail was
nothing but a pale brown streak that wound through the endless canopy of trees. Leaves glistened with
droplets of water that shimmered in the silver moonlight. Water soaked earth soiled and froze one s
feet with coarse sandpaper like dirt and icy water. All was quiet except for the constant sound of
sloshing from the wet ground. New scenes of trees, more trees, and an occasional body of water
appeared in the distance ahead and dissolved quietly into the darkness behind. Still nothing made a
sound except for the ground which sloshed when stepped upon. The smell of fresh pine and sage

and descended into a large valley.. The bottom of which was completely concealed by fog. Only the
tops of old wooden buildings and metal pipes that connected the tall buildings were visible above the

The Importance Of Extracurricular Activities
Many students at all levels of education are involved in extracurricular activities they are a core part of
the educational experience. But,are they helpful or harmful to students education. To further look at
this issue my group and I decided to reasearch this topic to find out if there was a correlation between
extracurricular activites and student success. Going into this topic our hypothesis was.If a student
participates in extracurricular activities then the student is more likely to succeed in school.
To gather data we created a survey. This survey included five questions, three strongly agree to strongly
disagree, one yes/no question, and one multiple choice question. We surveyed 44 students both male
and female students grades ninth to eleventh as we felt that in these grades students would be most
involved in extracurricular activities.
The first question on the survey was. Do you participate in extracurricular activities? Which from the
people surveyed was a unanimous yes. This was expected due to the sheer number of people who
participate in extracurricular activities as well as the variety of extracurricular activities.
Question two. How much time a day do you speand participating in extracurricular activites? For this
question in general both males and females from all the grades on average said three to four hours
which was fairly expected as three to four hours is a long amount of time but not long as the other
choice five to six hours or as short as one to two

Why Did The Toris Adopt The Reform Act Of 1832
The Tories opposed the Reform Act of 1832 because they didn t want more people being able to Vote
and still wanted to be the dominant party in the House of Lords. The Tories introduced The Reform
Act of 1867 because they wanted the political power that would come with it and to show that they
could lead the country and be able to change and because throughout Britain people wanted further
parliamentary reform.
The Tories were the dominant force in the house of Commons between 1770 and 1830. In 1831 Earl
Grey, the Whigs leader became Prime Minister
The reasons for the Reform Act of 1832 included, until 1832 the right to vote was limited to a small

the early 1960s Lord John Russell wanted there to be another electoral reform. Russell s attempts were

Smooth Sailing Non Conformity
Queens of the Stone Age are the writers for the song entitled Smooth Sailing. In the song we are
shown a single narrator speaking to the listener. The song revolves around a man who s removed the
need or want for a norm and status quo. One who has simply a need and want to be himself regardless.
In Queens of the Stone Ages Smooth Sailing the effects both negatively and positively of non
conformity are shown through the singers personal views, how it affects others, and the freeing nature
of non conformity. Why would people conform, and with that what makes non conformists different.
Fear of becoming outcast for being different leads to conformity. Yet when this fear is removed
freedom reigns. Firstly this will discuss the nature of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Effect Of Reading Abilities On Dyslexia Over The Past...
This journal paper presented by Vellution and his associates outlines the most important findings of
research that evaluates possible causes of reading abilities in dyslexia over the past four decades. The
main purpose of this paper is to provide a comprehensive review of research on the fundamental
cause(s) of developmental dyslexia. The secondary purpose is to present the evidence that reveals
differences between early reading difficulties caused mainly by cognitive/biological deficits and those
caused primarily by instructional deficits. The authors first propose a model that captures all the
relevant knowledge and cognitive skills required for individuals in learning to read (figure 1). This
model certainly indicates that reading is mainly a linguistic ability rather than once popular notion that
it is primarily a visual skill. The model that underscores all reading components are thus used to
analyze manifest causes of reading difficulties. The evidence suggests that basic deficits in alphabetic
coding would lead to inadequate word identification and which then contributes to reading difficulties.
Moreover, both phonological awareness and orthographic awareness have an impact on skills of
alphabetic coding. Importantly, casual relationships between word identification difficulties and
deficient phonological skills seem more prominent in learning to read in opaque orthographies such as
English than in learning to read in more transparent orthographies such as German. It

Trigger Point Of Muscle Demographics
Trigger points, also known as trigger sites or muscle knots, are described as hyperirritable spots in
skeletal muscle that are associated with palpable nodules in taut bands of muscle fiber. These very
localized areas in muscle tissues and/or their tendinous attachments are often felt as taut bands when
palpated, which elicits pain. A trigger point is a very circumscribed region in which relatively few
motor units seem to be contracting. So it is localized spot of tenderness in a nodule of a palpable taut
band of contractured muscle fibers The exact nature of a trigger point is not known. It has been
suggested that certain nerve endings in the muscle tissues may become sensitized by algogenic
substances that create a localized zone of hypersensitivity

development of general anxiety, depression, and having a hard time to adapt to life changes. Mothers
are already dealing with a great deal of stress prenatally and postpartum and this increases the risk of

caused from stress and other factors in mothers can also be transferred to fathers which plays a role in

this transfer effect. Other factors that can be attribute to depression and depressive symptoms in
fathers include: lack of education, unemployment, finding parenting stressful, difficulties between the

parents interactions with their infant were impaired, but in some instances when just the mother was

transfer of depression occurs there is no parent to help make up for the other s compromised
interaction. The effect on the infant of mother s with depression has shown infants to have higher

who prefers to wear her brother s clothing and cover her fingernails in black sharpie marker. Daisy is
looking forward to watching a firework show on TV later that night. Judd s friends stop by and ask

Emily Grierson Characterization
When one thinks about the Old South, often what comes to their mind is images of Confederate
Generals and their families standing in front of their beautiful, elegant mansions on the most exclusive
street in town. The fathers of these families were usually very wealthy, well known Generals in the
Confederate Army, while the children and wives were the most privileged women in town attending
the finest china painting classes the South had to offer. This image of an Old Southern family is one
that Miss Emily Grierson was once a part of. After Miss Emily s father passed away when she was
thirty years old, she had no one. While the town around her was prospering and transitioning into the
New South , she stayed locked up inside her once marvelous mansion. The members of the new
Southern society do not know what to think about Miss Emily, considering she holds such different
values. They all look at her as a piece of history, being she comes from an older age and came from a
very prominent family. As the story goes on, the people in her town are ... Show more content on

once pristine and wonderful, it is now fallen down and looks unoccupied. Everyone else in the town
lives in nicer houses on the new side of town, and when they pass Miss Emily s house they see an old
southern home that has aged over the years just as she has. This is one of the ways that Miss Emily
represents old southern values. Her home is a perfect representation of the society and era that she
grew up in. While it is old and falling apart, she still lives there because it is all she has left of her

Sexual Orientation And Identity Of An Individual
Identity is vital to every person. Every individual has his or her own identity as well as his own values.
It is these values that help describe the individual s identity. The various aspects that make an
individual s identity is the gender, physical ability, race and sexual orientation. This dispels out the
confusion that exist between sexual orientation and identity of an individual. Sexual orientation is a
branch of a person s identity.
Sexual orientation is a branch of personal identity that has existed for long though it is likely to be
ignored by many people. From the past, in the people s mindset, it was acceptable, normal and proper
for men and women to enter into a sexual relationship. Traditionally, sexual attraction between people
of opposite sex, commonly referred to as heterosexual orientation, has been common and acceptable.
However, with the growth of globalization, technology and influence of western education, there are
many changes in the sexual orientation and individuals culture value.
The topic of sexual orientation touches various sections and various people in the society. The
community culture, social fabric, religion, political, health and judicial formations have had the
influence of sexual orientations. These formations expressed divergent reactions in regard to support,
condemnation or protection in favor of different types of sexual orientations. The concept of sexual
orientation is wide and complex and encompasses several components. In order

Who Is Tcheltchew s Hide-And-Seek
The Hide and Seek painting which was completed in 1942 is the most celebrated work of Pavel
Tcheltchew . Even though it was completed in 1942, he had been working on various images since
1934 that were incorporated into this painting. Tcheltchew was born in 1898 and was raised in
Moscow until the Russian Revolution forced his family to flee. He had various jobs working for local
theatres building stage sets while he also worked on his paintings. In the 1920 s he changed the focus
of his art to one of using multiple images which sought to reveal both the organic substructure of an
object as well as its place in space and time. He intended to reveal not just the illusion of an object as

However, this picture was strange and somewhat scary. The painting presents an apocalyptic vision of
the childhood game. The canvas is dominated by a large tree and has profiles of children with their
mouths open in horror. The painting offers double or multiple readings; the game of hide and seek
where children are depicted in the work and by the viewer who can make endless discoveries
embedded in the dense thicket of designs. Words that come to mind when looking at this painting have
dark connotations. Words such as burning, fire, horror story and hellish have been used to describe
feelings that may be experienced when looking at the painting Upon close inspection of the painting,
there can be found images that cannot be seen from a distance. An example is the vein in one child s
face that has a faint dandelion that served as a pedestal for another child. This kind of imagery is
understandable because of the time period in which it was painted, during World War II. The design in
this painting is a consummate statement of figure ground, which is the situation where an image on
one side of its boundary can be reversed to become the background of a different image on the other
side of the boundary. Every visible object in the painting, tree, hand, child, leaf, and bird is perceived
in a state of change reflecting the transformations that occur in nature. The

How Did Reconstruction Improve The United States After The...
Reconstruction
Reconstruction was a time of great pain and endless questions for the United States of America. What
was going to happen to the newly freed slaves? How would they be treated? Would the United States
ever be one cohesive country? Many of these questions are still unanswered in today s society, but
reconstruction was in place to try to rebuild the US after the devastation of the Civil war. The
reconstruction era lasted from 1865 1877. During this time the United States military was stationed in
the South, so that everything would run smoothly and hopefully allow for readmission of the once
confederate states, back into the Union as one.
The Civil war caused a lot of destruction and devastation in the Southern United States. Many efforts
were going to be needed if the United States wanted to be a strong power. There was a huge push to
secure the rights of the newly freed, former slaves and incorporate them more into society. One major
factor that led to the reconstruction era was the need for the rebuilding of infrastructure in the South.
After the Civil war, much of the infrastructure was unuseable. Also, the US hoped to reorganize and

The Minoans In Ancient Greece
When I first heard about the Minoans, I was immediately entranced. The Minoans were considered to
be Europe s first Great Bronze Age Society starting around 2000 B.C.E, and ending around 1400
B.C.E. The word Minoan was given to the people of ancient Crete by British archaeologist Sir Arthur
Evans. Arthur Evans named them Minoans because at first he thought he had discovered the palace of
king Minos. Arthur Evens hypothesized that the Minoans came from North Africa, but more recent
studies through DNA samples tell us that they were European.
The Minoans called the island of Crete home. Crete is located in the center of the Mediterranean Sea
in between Europe, and Africa. Crete s location makes it a very strategical place for trading. Its
climate, and crops yielded an abundant amount of resources in ancient times. These resources were
exported to many different places around them. Due to Crete s location, the Minoans adopted
neighboring peoples cultures, and formed their own culture with the mixture. ... Show more content on

The Idea Of Narcissistic Love
Another example that frames a negative love through a more narcissistic form of intemperance
combined with a necessity (a counterpart to freedom). The contrast of a narcissistic love (an evil love
that necessitates tyrannical measures) to a sacrificial love that promotes freedom reinforces the ways
in which love is framed as good or evil. The description between the attributes of the gates to the
gardens shows these opposing differences. The Book 2, Canto 12, Stanza 43 opens with goodly it was

However, the mirror stanza in Adonis garden allows freedom by which both in and out men moten
pas, portraying a good love as giving, taking/receiving and letting go (III.2.31). This is in opposition
to Acrasia s exclusive love, whereas a good love demonstrates inclusivity. Looking at this from an
overarching view, Acrasia s love necessitates a rationale to subjugate its guests as opposed to Adonis
garden that represents freedom two extremes that constantly exert push and pull forces on one another.
In each mirrored stanza their power relations further demonstrates the way frame in which Spenser
defines a negative positive love. Accordingly, in Acrasia s garden the line, wisdoms power and
temperance s might displays a fear of temperance and wisdom as well as an inability to defend against
a justified good love and eke the gate was wrought of substance light / rather for pleasure, then for
battery or fight; Spenser frames a bad love as a thin, weak fence that fears a good love s dominant
power. In contrast, good love conjures a picture equivalent to the gates of heaven the one of iron, the
other of bright gold, and further reinforced by its impenetrability, that none might thorough break, nor

Isaac Newton Space Flight The Laws of Motion and universal gravity proposed by Sir Newton led to
the development of space flight. Each law has a separate connection that when pieced together can

The first law states that an object in motion tends to stay in motion unless an external force is applied
(cesplo.phys.utk.edu). Now this applies to space craft when a rocket sits until being lifted up once the

How Did Slavery Affect Roman Economy
Discussion Forum Unit 8
How did slaves affect the daily Roman economy?
Introduction:
As a sign of great wealth and power, slaves were primarily prisoners of war (POW), both captured
fighters and the women and children of conquered populations. With no reservation, it is historically
clear that slaves contributed a lot to the growth of Roman economy. As slaves formed significant part
of the labor force, they were also vita to fabric of Roman society. Slaves were involved in the
following aspects of economy: farming, mining, domestic works, white collar jobs and others. The
Daily Roman Economy:
In Rome, slavery was a major force of farming. Farming shifted to estate slavery due to influx of

Slaves working as domestic workers in private household had the chance to seek favor with their
owners and perhaps get their freedom. And they constituted the private staff of villas, town house, and
palaces.
Nevertheless, slaves were also white collar job workers who kept the machinery of bureaucracy and
administration working and in other government services such as the mint and corn supply.
They worked as accountants in private businesses, and as teachers, secretaries, librarians, doctors,
scribes, artists, and entertainers.
Slavery was fundamental to the Roman economy, perhaps more essential than any other ancient
civilization. Slavery gradually changed and expand as Rome expanded through conquest. For all of
the greatness and grandeur of Ancient Rome, the Roman economy never developed into anything
horribly intricate compared to modern economies. Ancient Rome was an agricultural and slave based
economy whose main concern was feeding the vast number of citizens and legionaries who populated
the Mediterranean region (unrv.com, n.d).

What Is Electromyography Is A Method For Evaluate Levels...
Abstract: Electromyography is a method to evaluate levels of muscular activity. When a muscle fiber
contracts, an action potential is generated and this circulates along the muscular fibers. In
electromyography, electrodes are connected to the skin and the electrical activity of muscles is
measured and graph is plotted. The surface electromyography signals selected during the muscular
activity are interfaced with a system. The EMG signals from individual suffering from Neuropathy
and healthy individual, so obtained, are processed and analyzed using signal processing techniques.
This project includes the investigation and interpretation of EMG signals of healthy and Neuropathic
individuals using MATLAB. The prospective utilization of this study is in developing the prosthetic
device for the people with Neuropathic disability.

shining , as what Murasaki Shikibu illustrated by his name. With the qualities that make Genji shines ,
as what was expected, Genji had a huge amount of romantic affairs involved true love that neither men
practicing monogamy nor polygamy would ever expect to approach. However a query exists: what is
love in Genji s dictionary?
In order to understand Genji s love, it is critical for us to look back upon his very beginning of love
and life, as it originates with Lady Fujitsubo during his childhood and puberty phases. Lady Fujitsubo
accompanies Genji within the process of his psychological and physical development as the role of
mother and sister; with her perfect talent and appearance plus the natural Oedipus complex, Genji
developed a deep adoration toward her. As the very first women Genji had ever loved, Lady Fujitsubo
was the one of eternity . The relationship between them had never approached to a completion, which
left Genji with regret and void throughout the rest of his life; ever since that, his life long goal of love
was to love someone that is Lady Fujitsubo. Every woman he loved afterward had one or more parts
of Lady Fujitsubo involved; the most obvious

This internship helped me to gain insight into the modeling and simulations of real world mechanisms.
I also learnt that a great deal of persistence is required in obtaining substantial results in research. I am
keen on complementing my undergraduate research experience by gaining a more in depth
understanding of these aspects of _________ in my future studies.
With an aspiration to explore more in various aspects of Mechanical Engineering, I took elective
courses in Computational Fluid Dynamics, Combustion Engineering, I. C. Engines, Finite Element
Methods and Design of Fluid Machinery. In later, I opted for a course project on design of turbine
blade profiles to gain a deeper understanding of the subject. I investigated flow angles for various
flows like free forced vortex, power blading to design the 3D blade profiles in SolidWorks.
My interest and work in heat transfer continued into my final year B.Tech project. I worked on
development of design charts of cryostats for my undergraduate thesis. I performed a finite volume
analysis of liquid Nitrogen and liquid Helium cryostats using ANSYS to analyze heat loss through
various insulations and thermal stresses experienced by cryostat body. I developed data charts to

Debating Whether Nuclear Power Should Be Developed for Future Energy Supplies
Introduction
I am writing this essay to debate the idea of having nuclear power developed for future use by us. This
takes on a major issue and covers many aspects of our nations energy use both in present and for the
future.
When we think about nuclear power we do not automatically think of it as a non renewable energy
source. This is because it is not part of the fossils fuels; coal, oil and gas, which we all know will not
last us as reliable energy sources for much longer. However, nuclear power is a non renewable energy
source and has many dedicated power stations located around the UK. Nuclear energy is ... Show

Nuclear fission takes place inside the core by which the isotope splits using the atoms in the uranium
dioxide from the pellets. The immense heat produced by this is carried away by fluid circulating
through the reactor core. Once the fluid becomes heated it is used to produce steam, this steam drives
the turbines which in turn rotate the main electricity generators to produce clean, reliable electricity.
During this process there is a massive amount of radiation and so this is why the core is surrounded by
a thick concrete shield to absorb this radiation.
Arguments FOR using and developing nuclear power
To satisfy our general needs of heating our water, heating our homes, cooking our food, powering our
appliances and lighting our rooms, we need to retrieve energy from the many many methods available
to us. One of these choices is nuclear energy. There are very good reasons why it should be considered
and developed further, to be used in the future. Firstly, by comparing it to the other non renewable
energy sources (coal, oil and natural gas), nuclear power is a very clean energy as it does not produce
any of the greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, which lead to the greenhouse effect or global
warming. This problem is significant for the disintegration of the ozone layer when fossil fuels are
burnt to release energy. Plus using this form of energy can

Essay On The Desert Storm
The Desert Storm or as some know, the Persian Gulf War, took place in August of 1990. Saddam
Hussein, the leader of Iraq was the main person involved in the start of the war. The war included
many allied countries, they included a big part of the Middle East, Canada, United States and the
United Kingdom and many more. After lasting 100 hours the war ended on February 28th, 1991 (The
Gulf War,1991)
The Desert Storm, which is also known as the Persian Gulf War and known as Operation Desert
Storm, started at the end of the Cold War in 1990. The Desert Storm happened because Saddam
Hussein, who was the leader of Iraq ordered invasion and occupation of the neighboring country of
Kuwait, in August of 1990. Hussein was told by the United Nations Security Council to withdraw
from Kuwait by the middle of January 1991, and Hussein disregarded their demands. Because he
refused to withdraw the Persian Gulf War was triggered (Feinstein, 39). The Iraqi takeover posed a
threat to Saudi Arabia, which was another oil supplying country for the United States. If Saudi Arabia
took over by Hussein than he would have controlled one fifth of the world s oil supply. The Middle
East had their eyes on the White House, waiting for a response from President George H. W. Bush.
When he found out his response was, This will not stand, meaning that Hussein taking over the
Middle East s oil would not be tolerable (Operation Desert Storm).
In August of 1990, the dictator of Iraq, Saddam Hussein, invaded

Essay about Industrialization in America
Mark Twain once called Industrialization an, Era of incredible Rottenness. Industrialization had both
negative effects and positive effects on city life. While big businesses thrived, the gap between the
rich and poor grew larger day by day. Progressive reformers sought to close this gap and bring
together the nation. Industrialization was very beneficial to American business owners. Following the
civil war, industries transformed into modern powerhouses. Big business owners who seized power in
these industries became even bigger. New inventions led to new thriving industries. Iron, for example,
was replaced with ultra strong steel. Andrew Carnegie built the biggest steal business in the world.
One main reason why steel was in such ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Big business owners benefited from industrialization because they became in such high demand
during the peak of their thriving businesses. Although the standard of living was higher, the gap
between rich and poor could not have been greater. With so many businesses expanding during
industrialization, millions of jobs opened up throughout the United States. The good thing about this is
that immigrant men and women (and even children) could earn money for their family and pay for
food.
Factories could hire these immigrants because the work did not require much skill. These factories,
however, had terrible working conditions. Cities became dirty and overcrowded. Tenement buildings
were skinny, small, unsanitary, and housed sweat shops. For immigrants, working meant long hours,
very low pay, and unsanitary conditions. Child labor supplied many children jobs in coal mines and
factories. Because these factories were hazardous, many accidents happened inside it was very
common for people to lose fingers, toes, and even their lives. Many factory owners would even lock
the doors of the factories so that the immigrants couldn t get out. In the Triangle Shirtwaist Company
Fire of 1911, for example, 146 workers died in a fire when factory owners locked the doors (Roark).
The average work week was 59 hours and the average hourly wage was 21.7 cents. Many young
homeless boys would serve as bootblacks or newsboys. An immigrant named Jacob Riis

Grapes Of Wrath Controversy
In the 1930s, the dust bowl destroyed the lives of many farmers in the American Plains. It brought the
hottest and driest air, which, along with the lack of rain, caused a horrific drought in this part of
America. The Grapes of Wrath is the best movie that depicts really clearly the society in the Great
Depression in the Dust Bowl period which how the living of people and how the people treat to

The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck, who was born on February 27, 1902 in Salinas, California

One year later after the novel was published, the movie was born 1940 it became a drama film. In an
old truck, 34 year old newspaper reporter John Steinbeck traveled throughout his native state of
California and talked with people who had fled the Dust Bowl (Watson 1). In the 1930s, Montana,
North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Nebraska, Southeastern Colorado, Southwest Kansas,
panhandle of Oklahoma, and Texas were the driest region of the Plain, which was affected by the Dust
Bowl. The Grapes of Wrath was during the great depression in the dust bowl; it was about the
adventure of a man who named Joad. Joad was a prisoner and had been returning home from jail.
Joad, Casey (a former preacher who Joad met on the road he returned home) and his family released
his own plain in Oklahoma State when he realized that all around the farm were the desert. The living
of farmers became more and more hardship. There were nothing to eat, nothing to plant, hard to
breath, and the market had exhausted by the wind of dust. Cause he did not seem like another who just

Similarities Between The Fur Trade Economy And A Modern...
An Analysis of the similarities and differences between the Fur Trade economy and a modern
oligopoly.
The North American fur trade started in the 1500 s as the result of early, sporadic contact and trade
between aboriginal societies and European fishing crews located off the banks of Newfoundland and
the St. Lawrence region. Animal pelts, which were harvested by the natives, were exchanged for
European goods such as weapons, tools and textiles. The beaver, whose inner coat was used to make
the fashionable felt hat in Europe, was the principal and most valuable pelt that was traded. By 1600,
not only was the felt hat popular, but changing fashion led to widened brims and thus an increase in
the amount of beaver fur required per item ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In essence, the fur trade market was divided amongst these two trading posts. Throughout the 1700 s,
both the British and French, vigorously competed with each other for control of the fur trade. The
structure and behavior of both entities resemble the characteristics of firms in oligopolistic
competition. In this essay, the structural and behavioral characteristics of firms in the fur trade shall be
compared and contrasted to the structural and behavioral characteristics exhibited by modern
oligopolies.
In oligopolistic competition, the market is dominated by a few large firms that produce differentiated
or identical goods. For example, the Canadian market for internet service providers is dominated by
Rogers communications, Bell Canada, Telus and Shaw communications. The idea is that although
there may exist other smaller ISP s in Canada, majority of the market share is controlled by these four
companies. The fur trade was structured in a similar fashion with the market being dominated by
primarily two firms, the Hudson s Bay Company and the Northwest Company. Thus, the fur trade
mainly functioned as a duopoly (the most basic form of oligopoly where the market for a particular
product is dominated by only two firms) until the merger of the two companies in 1821. Furthermore,
oligopolies are characterized as having high barriers to entry that make it difficult for

  • 2. Why The Act Of Preserving Restoring Historic Structures Is... This paper will attempt to argue why the act of preserving and restoring historic structures is a much better option than demolishing them. The essay will use the powerful tool of reliable and relevant sources to support the essay s claim about historic restoration. In addition, this argument will present the opposition s claims and why they may or may not be correct in the process of improving a historic structure. The essay will separate the ideological differences between demolishing structures and restoring them. Initially, this paper will introduce the main underlying problem with the opposing argument. Then, the paper will establish two main points as to why the restoring of these historic structures is a much better option. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Building demolition is never the answer, and restoration will always be the better option. This will ensure we can save and remember how societies of those who lived before us built their buildings. Although there are many ways building restoration will always be the better option, one crucial way is that restoration preserves the cultural identity of a structure, while demolition destroys it. At this moment, there might be a question raised: What exactly is the cultural identity of a structure or building? Well, that is actually quite simple. When we speak of historic structures, we typically are referring to those that are very, very aged structures that have a magnitude of uniqueness to them. Therefore, reflecting the culture of the time period which they were created in. But, if that historic structure is demolished, how would that reflected culture ever be remembered? That s just it, it wouldn t be able to be remembered, and that s where the underlying problem is. Like what I ve just mentioned, Washington Trust For Historic Preservation stated in their Benefits for Historic Preservation article, By preserving historic structures, we are able to share the very spaces and environments in which the generations before us lived. Historic preservation is the visual and tangible conservation of cultural identity (para. 3). Essentially, demolition results in destruction of this cultural identity and as I personally ... • 5. Essay about Challenges Associated with Teaching Emergency... Introduction In this module I would briefly discuss the challenges associated with teaching in Emergency Medicine (EM), how these challenges influences my approach to teaching in EM. I would describe what teaching and learning methods I adapted to in EM to address the learning outcomes of the trainee doctors. Finally I would aim to reflect on the approach and methods used and my role in the process. Challenges in EM EM is highly attractive specialty. Internationally, EM residencies rank among the top few specialties attracting junior doctors of the highest calibre in large numbers (College of Emergency Medicine EM Taskforce interim report 2012). On the other hand, College of emergency medicine highlighted concerns about junior doctors EM ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In my experience, small group tends to be more interactive, engaging and have opportunity to reflect/recall their experiences. The topic given to me to cover junior doctors curriculum was on head injuries. The time to teach was when they were in the middle of the placements so they must have seen common head injuries presentation in EM. Aim of the session was to competently manage any patient with head injury. Objective was demonstrating knowledge needed to take 1) history, 2) knowledge to perform examination and 3) knowledge to manage a patient with head injury. Rather than giving lecture to achieve these three objectives, I wanted to explore their clinical experiences of seeing the head injury patient in ED first. It should start with interaction and giving them opportunity to recall their knowledge and experience. This has two distinct advantages one is that I would have opportunity of knowing about the learners, what stage they are and what they need to learn at this stage without giving them any extra information and secondly after their recall, they have opportunity to build on their existing knowledge. In order to achieve above, I wrote three common head injury presentation (see appendix 1), to cover different age groups, a junior doctor can come across in Hospital or in Community. • 6. Benefits Of Living In A Shared House In College Living in a shared house while you are in college is for sure your life experience. Either you have great, good or not that good experience, there is a high possibility that what you experience in a shared house remain in your memories for the rest of your life. One of the reasons might be the fact that you have to live with people that probably you had never seen before. Moreover, those people can be from different parts of the country. But whatever the reason, anyone who study far from his or her hometown has a strong impact on his or her life, where very positive o very negative. When a person move to another city because of college, positively influenced by the change. First of all because it is a great opportunity to expand someone s friendship, for example if the person move to a house where there are ten other students, which are usually from different towns or cities, it is a chance to have ten more friends. At the same time, it allows to know more about those owns, because despite the fact that they are in the same country and even in the same region, there are slight cultural differences such as different names for the same fruit for example. On the other hand, people s experience living in a shared house may not be the best, especially for those ones who had never been left home. For them, it might be really difficult because usually they are not used to do housework, and as they are on they are on they own, they might experience some frustration. For example, a ... • 7. Rhetorical Speech In Toussaint-Louverture In 1861 Wendell Phillips a white abolitionist wrote a passionate speech about Toussaint Louverture near the beginning of the Civil War. Phillips wrote the speech to persuade Northerners to allow African Americans to join the military. Toussaint Louverture was a former slave turned Haitian general who led a revolt to liberate enslaved Haitians. In the speech Phillips uses rhetorical devices, such as: juxtaposition, logos, ethos, allusions, and antithesis to convince Northerners African Americans are more than capable of serving in the military. Phillips starts his speech by making allusions to past military leaders for instance George Washington, and Napoleon. Phillips alludes to the love France has for Napoleon and the love America has for Washington, which also brings about pathos in Americans. Phillips conveys this through lines like If I stood here tonight to tell the story of Napoleon, I should take it from the lips of Frenchmen, who find no language rich enough to paint the great captain of the nineteenth century. Were I here to tell you the story of Washington, I should take it from your hearts you, who think no marble white enough on which to carve the name of the Father of his Country. Directly after, Phillips states I am about to tell you the story of a Negro who has left hardly one written line. Phillips does this to illustrate just because Washington and Napoleon were highly favored and remembered does not mean those men were more skilled than Toussaint. Toussaint wasn t remembered as being on the same military level of Washington or Napoleon because Toussaint had testimonies written about him by his the British, French, and Spanish. All those countries despised Toussaint because he defeated them in battle, so by Phillips adding these details he hopes it ll make the Northerners realize African Americans have already been talented in military aspects, but the stories went untold because men like Toussaint were hated and lied about by their enemies. Phillips goes on to say Were I here to tell you the story of Washington, I should take it from your hearts you, who think no marble white enough on which to carve the name of the Father of his Country, and I am about to tell you the story of a ... • 8. French War Religion Religion has impacted the world since the beginning of time. For many years, religion controlled how the world was run. Countries were led by the churches, and the citizens followed that religion and that religion alone. Many wars have been fought throughout history simply because of religious beliefs. One event that had a tremendous religious impact on the world was the French Wars of Religion that occurred from 1562 1598. At the time, France was at a civil war between the Catholic monarchy and the Protestant citizens. The murder of the Huguenot leaders and the defection of thousands of terror stricken followers thinned the ranks of the French Protestantism (Diefendorf, 1985, p. 1067). • 9. Grant s Tom Smith And His Incredible Bread Machine America is accurately described in R.W. Grant s Tom Smith and His Incredible Bread Machine . This thesis is supported by three contentions. First, the poem effectively describes the expansion of American government. Second, Tom Smith and His Incredible Bread Machine precisely chronicles the flow of the economy in America. Finally, R.W. Grant s influential poem outlines a shift in American values. First, the poem effectively describes the expansion of American government. When the founding fathers created the United States Constitution in 1787, they devised a document that established America s national government, created the country s fundamental laws, and, ultimately, guaranteed basic rights for citizens. The carefully constructed Constitution provided an important balance between the governing styles of the controlling British monarchy and the weak, relaxed, and unauthoritative Articles of Confederation. The Constitution provided three branches known as the legislative branch, executive branch, and judicial branch; this critical balance of powers prevented the federal government from exercising control outside of its respective boundaries. The implemented confines commendably restricted American government. The Progressive Era (1890 1920) was a period of dramatic political reform. During those thirty years the government at the federal, state, and local level grew in scope, power, and activism. The reason for such growth was, according to George Brown Tindall and ... No, not just because I am watered and feed as needed, receive sunlight by playing and working outside, and am fertilized with the rich nourishment of wisdom that my parents and grandparents provide. And I may be tall (5 9 , to be exact), but that is not where the comparisons end; there are many more similarities. Similar to corn, my roots run deep in the soil I have grown up in, and have become the foundation for who I am. Johnstown, Colorado has been the home of Klein Farms for three generations (four, if you count me), so I have grown up with agriculture since day one. Growing up, I loved to play around with the tractors as I watched my dad and grandpa tinker with equipment. The idea of an OS having a built in security levels is now a very crucial task. This helps to secure information to not be looked at. Securing information stored and allowing only certain users to look at it are the main components to protect. Now, computers and technology are a part of our everyday life that we do not see the protection happening in the background. To understand this more, information that is stored in a database, on a computer, through emails and websites are all examples of secure information. An OS needs to have different levels of security built in that helps protect this sensitive information. For some users and companies, they have very personal information stored on their computer. • 16. Ethical Dilemma Of Mandatory Vaccinations Introduction The classic essay Tragedy of the Commons describes the dilemma society faces when the interests of a group conflicts with the interests of individuals (Hardin, 1968). The example presented is that of a group of cattle ranchers commingling their cattle in a common pasture. At full capacity, each cattle owner still has an incentive to include additional cattle, since the slight decrease in overall yield per animal is offset by the additional animal. Unfortunately, this overgrazing inevitably leads to failure of the commons. The community goal of maximizing food production can only be achieved by placing controls on the interests of the individual cattle ranchers in favor of those of the community (Hardin, 1968). This paper is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is called an immune response. Vaccination is an attempt to manipulate the immune system to provide protection from disease caused by a pathogen without subjecting the person to the actual disease. The cowpox virus was sufficiently similar to the smallpox virus that if an individual were exposed to cowpox, the person would develop antibodies that would subsequently attack and disable the smallpox virus. This basic principle discovered by Jenner over two hundred and fifty years ago is used today to develop the dozens of vaccines we take for granted. What Is Herd Immunity? The term herd immunity first appeared in a paper published in 1923, entitled The Spread Of Bacterial Infection The Problem Of Herd Immunity (Topley Wilson, 1923). Herd immunity refers to the protection of populations from infection, which is brought about by the presence of immune individuals (Anderson May, 1985). Herd immunity occurs when the proportion of people in a population that has immunity to a pathogen is so high, the pathogen cannot find enough susceptible hosts to infect and consequently can no longer survive (Coico Sunshine, 2015). For example, if only 50% of a population has immunity to pathogen X, the chances of an infected person coming in contact with a susceptible person to pass along pathogen X, is one in two. A lone hiker walked down the trail in the night. The trail was nothing but a pale brown streak that wound through the endless canopy of trees. Leaves glistened with droplets of water that shimmered in the silver moonlight. Water soaked earth soiled and froze one s feet with coarse sandpaper like dirt and icy water. • 18. The Importance Of Extracurricular Activities Many students at all levels of education are involved in extracurricular activities they are a core part of the educational experience. But,are they helpful or harmful to students education. To further look at this issue my group and I decided to reasearch this topic to find out if there was a correlation between extracurricular activites and student success. Going into this topic our hypothesis was.If a student participates in extracurricular activities then the student is more likely to succeed in school. To gather data we created a survey. This survey included five questions, three strongly agree to strongly disagree, one yes/no question, and one multiple choice question. We surveyed 44 students both male and female students grades ninth to eleventh as we felt that in these grades students would be most involved in extracurricular activities. The first question on the survey was. Do you participate in extracurricular activities? Which from the people surveyed was a unanimous yes. This was expected due to the sheer number of people who participate in extracurricular activities as well as the variety of extracurricular activities. Question two. How much time a day do you speand participating in extracurricular activites? For this question in general both males and females from all the grades on average said three to four hours which was fairly expected as three to four hours is a long amount of time but not long as the other choice five to six hours or as short as one to two ... • 21. The Effect Of Reading Abilities On Dyslexia Over The Past... This journal paper presented by Vellution and his associates outlines the most important findings of research that evaluates possible causes of reading abilities in dyslexia over the past four decades. The main purpose of this paper is to provide a comprehensive review of research on the fundamental cause(s) of developmental dyslexia. The secondary purpose is to present the evidence that reveals differences between early reading difficulties caused mainly by cognitive/biological deficits and those caused primarily by instructional deficits. The authors first propose a model that captures all the relevant knowledge and cognitive skills required for individuals in learning to read (figure 1). This model certainly indicates that reading is mainly a linguistic ability rather than once popular notion that it is primarily a visual skill. The model that underscores all reading components are thus used to analyze manifest causes of reading difficulties. The evidence suggests that basic deficits in alphabetic coding would lead to inadequate word identification and which then contributes to reading difficulties. Moreover, both phonological awareness and orthographic awareness have an impact on skills of alphabetic coding. Importantly, casual relationships between word identification difficulties and deficient phonological skills seem more prominent in learning to read in opaque orthographies such as English than in learning to read in more transparent orthographies such as German. The contrast of a narcissistic love (an evil love that necessitates tyrannical measures) to a sacrificial love that promotes freedom reinforces the ways in which love is framed as good or evil. The description between the attributes of the gates to the gardens shows these opposing differences. The Book 2, Canto 12, Stanza 43 opens with goodly it was enclosed round about, which immediately gives the sense that this enclosure is not inclusive. Looking at this from an overarching view, Acrasia s love necessitates a rationale to subjugate its guests as opposed to Adonis garden that represents freedom two extremes that constantly exert push and pull forces on one another. In each mirrored stanza their power relations further demonstrates the way frame in which Spenser defines a negative positive love. Aerodynamics is the pressure when the force is applied to get up off the ground, perpendicular to the surface (NASA). The second law says force equals mass times acceleration, as well ... • 39. How Did Slavery Affect Roman Economy Discussion Forum Unit 8 How did slaves affect the daily Roman economy? Introduction: As a sign of great wealth and power, slaves were primarily prisoners of war (POW), both captured fighters and the women and children of conquered populations. With no reservation, it is historically clear that slaves contributed a lot to the growth of Roman economy. As slaves formed significant part of the labor force, they were also vita to fabric of Roman society. Slaves were involved in the following aspects of economy: farming, mining, domestic works, white collar jobs and others. The Daily Roman Economy: In Rome, slavery was a major force of farming. Farming shifted to estate slavery due to influx of slaves. Farms were initially owned and run by small ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Slaves working as domestic workers in private household had the chance to seek favor with their owners and perhaps get their freedom. And they constituted the private staff of villas, town house, and palaces. Nevertheless, slaves were also white collar job workers who kept the machinery of bureaucracy and administration working and in other government services such as the mint and corn supply. They worked as accountants in private businesses, and as teachers, secretaries, librarians, doctors, scribes, artists, and entertainers. Slavery was fundamental to the Roman economy, perhaps more essential than any other ancient civilization. Slavery gradually changed and expand as Rome expanded through conquest. For all of the greatness and grandeur of Ancient Rome, the Roman economy never developed into anything horribly intricate compared to modern economies. Ancient Rome was an agricultural and slave based economy whose main concern was feeding the vast number of citizens and legionaries who populated the Mediterranean region (unrv.com, n.d). • 40. What Is Electromyography Is A Method For Evaluate Levels... Abstract: Electromyography is a method to evaluate levels of muscular activity. When a muscle fiber contracts, an action potential is generated and this circulates along the muscular fibers. In electromyography, electrodes are connected to the skin and the electrical activity of muscles is measured and graph is plotted. The surface electromyography signals selected during the muscular activity are interfaced with a system. The EMG signals from individual suffering from Neuropathy and healthy individual, so obtained, are processed and analyzed using signal processing techniques. This project includes the investigation and interpretation of EMG signals of healthy and Neuropathic individuals using MATLAB. The prospective utilization of this study is in developing the prosthetic device for the people with Neuropathic disability. Keywords: EMG, action potential, MATLAB, Neuropathy. I. INTRODUCTION Human gait is a periodic activity and a well incorporated effort of brain, nerves and muscles. It is based on the harmonized action of 28 main muscles to manage the trunk and limbs. This action generates the energy required to oppose gravity and thrust the body frontward. All the individuals have different gait [1]. With a large population of disabled people worldwide, assistive technologies and techniques are in demand notably. Globally, more than 1 billion people are disabled, which is approximately 15% of the total world population. To bring improvement to the life quality of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the epic novel written by Murasaki Shikibu during the Heian period of the Japan, the leading character Hikaru Genji was described a nearly flawless person. The wisdom, the perfect looking, the personal background as a prince every piece of his characteristic was the presentation of attractive, or shining , as what Murasaki Shikibu illustrated by his name. With the qualities that make Genji shines , as what was expected, Genji had a huge amount of romantic affairs involved true love that neither men practicing monogamy nor polygamy would ever expect to approach. However a query exists: what is love in Genji s dictionary? In order to understand Genji s love, it is critical for us to look back upon his very beginning of love and life, as it originates with Lady Fujitsubo during his childhood and puberty phases. Lady Fujitsubo accompanies Genji within the process of his psychological and physical development as the role of mother and sister; with her perfect talent and appearance plus the natural Oedipus complex, Genji developed a deep adoration toward her. As the very first women Genji had ever loved, Lady Fujitsubo was the one of eternity . The relationship between them had never approached to a completion, which left Genji with regret and void throughout the rest of his life; ever since that, his life long goal of love was to love someone that is Lady Fujitsubo. Every woman he loved afterward had one or more parts of Lady Fujitsubo involved; the most obvious ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Debating Whether Nuclear Power Should Be Developed for Future Energy Supplies Introduction I am writing this essay to debate the idea of having nuclear power developed for future use by us. This takes on a major issue and covers many aspects of our nations energy use both in present and for the future. When we think about nuclear power we do not automatically think of it as a non renewable energy source. This is because it is not part of the fossils fuels; coal, oil and gas, which we all know will not last us as reliable energy sources for much longer. However, nuclear power is a non renewable energy source and has many dedicated power stations located around the UK. Nuclear energy is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Nuclear fission takes place inside the core by which the isotope splits using the atoms in the uranium dioxide from the pellets. The immense heat produced by this is carried away by fluid circulating through the reactor core. Once the fluid becomes heated it is used to produce steam, this steam drives the turbines which in turn rotate the main electricity generators to produce clean, reliable electricity. During this process there is a massive amount of radiation and so this is why the core is surrounded by a thick concrete shield to absorb this radiation. Arguments FOR using and developing nuclear power To satisfy our general needs of heating our water, heating our homes, cooking our food, powering our appliances and lighting our rooms, we need to retrieve energy from the many many methods available to us. One of these choices is nuclear energy. There are very good reasons why it should be considered and developed further, to be used in the future. Firstly, by comparing it to the other non renewable energy sources (coal, oil and natural gas), nuclear power is a very clean energy as it does not produce any of the greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, which lead to the greenhouse effect or global warming. This problem is significant for the disintegration of the ozone layer when fossil fuels are burnt to release energy. Plus using this form of energy can ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Saddam Hussein, the leader of Iraq was the main person involved in the start of the war. The war included many allied countries, they included a big part of the Middle East, Canada, United States and the United Kingdom and many more. After lasting 100 hours the war ended on February 28th, 1991 (The Gulf War,1991) The Desert Storm, which is also known as the Persian Gulf War and known as Operation Desert Storm, started at the end of the Cold War in 1990. The Desert Storm happened because Saddam Hussein, who was the leader of Iraq ordered invasion and occupation of the neighboring country of Kuwait, in August of 1990. Hussein was told by the United Nations Security Council to withdraw from Kuwait by the middle of January 1991, and Hussein disregarded their demands. Because he refused to withdraw the Persian Gulf War was triggered (Feinstein, 39). The Iraqi takeover posed a threat to Saudi Arabia, which was another oil supplying country for the United States. If Saudi Arabia took over by Hussein than he would have controlled one fifth of the world s oil supply. The Middle East had their eyes on the White House, waiting for a response from President George H. W. Bush. When he found out his response was, This will not stand, meaning that Hussein taking over the Middle East s oil would not be tolerable (Operation Desert Storm). Industrialization had both negative effects and positive effects on city life. While big businesses thrived, the gap between the rich and poor grew larger day by day. Progressive reformers sought to close this gap and bring together the nation. Industrialization was very beneficial to American business owners. Following the civil war, industries transformed into modern powerhouses. Big business owners who seized power in these industries became even bigger. New inventions led to new thriving industries. Iron, for example, was replaced with ultra strong steel. Andrew Carnegie built the biggest steal business in the world. One main reason why steel was in such ... Although the standard of living was higher, the gap between rich and poor could not have been greater. With so many businesses expanding during industrialization, millions of jobs opened up throughout the United States. The good thing about this is that immigrant men and women (and even children) could earn money for their family and pay for food. Factories could hire these immigrants because the work did not require much skill. These factories, however, had terrible working conditions. Cities became dirty and overcrowded. Tenement buildings were skinny, small, unsanitary, and housed sweat shops. For immigrants, working meant long hours, very low pay, and unsanitary conditions. Child labor supplied many children jobs in coal mines and factories. Because these factories were hazardous, many accidents happened inside it was very common for people to lose fingers, toes, and even their lives. Many factory owners would even lock the doors of the factories so that the immigrants couldn t get out. In the Triangle Shirtwaist Company Fire of 1911, for example, 146 workers died in a fire when factory owners locked the doors (Roark). The average work week was 59 hours and the average hourly wage was 21.7 cents. Many young homeless boys would serve as bootblacks or newsboys. An immigrant named Jacob Riis ... • 47. Similarities Between The Fur Trade Economy And A Modern... An Analysis of the similarities and differences between the Fur Trade economy and a modern oligopoly. The North American fur trade started in the 1500 s as the result of early, sporadic contact and trade between aboriginal societies and European fishing crews located off the banks of Newfoundland and the St. Lawrence region. Animal pelts, which were harvested by the natives, were exchanged for European goods such as weapons, tools and textiles. The beaver, whose inner coat was used to make the fashionable felt hat in Europe, was the principal and most valuable pelt that was traded. By 1600, not only was the felt hat popular, but changing fashion led to widened brims and thus an increase in the amount of beaver fur required per item ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In essence, the fur trade market was divided amongst these two trading posts. Throughout the 1700 s, both the British and French, vigorously competed with each other for control of the fur trade. The structure and behavior of both entities resemble the characteristics of firms in oligopolistic competition. In this essay, the structural and behavioral characteristics of firms in the fur trade shall be compared and contrasted to the structural and behavioral characteristics exhibited by modern oligopolies. In oligopolistic competition, the market is dominated by a few large firms that produce differentiated or identical goods. For example, the Canadian market for internet service providers is dominated by Rogers communications, Bell Canada, Telus and Shaw communications. The idea is that although there may exist other smaller ISP s in Canada, majority of the market share is controlled by these four companies. The fur trade was structured in a similar fashion with the market being dominated by primarily two firms, the Hudson s Bay Company and the Northwest Company. Thus, the fur trade mainly functioned as a duopoly (the most basic form of oligopoly where the market for a particular product is dominated by only two firms) until the merger of the two companies in 1821. Furthermore, oligopolies are characterized as having high barriers to entry that make it difficult for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
