Introduction Java is a programming language first released by Sun Microsystems in 1995. There is a

(1) How do the films discussed link the concepts of ‚crime and ‚travelling ? What makes travelling
such an interesting phenomenon within the crime genre? Please also refer to the narrative structure of
crime films. Travelling has used to be an activity that entirely differs from our everyday life, an escape
in order to find authenticity. Travelling forces people from their comfort zones and lead to new
emotions, new actions, new perceptions, acquired through the prism of another reality. For a long time
it has been a privilege available only for a group of eligible. Not surprisingly, the idea of
interconnectivity between crime and travelling is highly exploited in the movie industry exposing the
gap between expectations and reality, between dream world and real world. Both the notion of crime
and travelling are built around the idea of observing spaces and places, people and their actions with
the possibility of expectations being destroyed at any moment. Often tourists try to plan their trips
with the smallest details to avoid any unpredictable situation, especially nowadays in the time of the
easy accessible images and reviews about destinations. They are very persistent in their attempts to
establish an order on a world. Crime stories are also concerned with this idea. The most thrilling effect
in movies can be achieved by putting crime and travelling into one story. When touristic stereotypes
are destroyed, anticipated actions are not performed, seeming strong

Aggregate Supply Curve
AGGREGATE DEMAND, AGGREGATE SUPPLY, FISCAL
AND MONETARYPOLICY
Q No 1. Explain why the Aggregate Supply curve is upward sloping in the short run and vertical in the
long run?
Aggregate supply is the total supply of goods and services produced by any firm in a country for
economic plan and sell these goods and services during a year. These goods and services are willing to
sell at a given price by firms.
Short Run Aggregate Supply Curve
In short run, the aggregate supply curve will go upward because there are two main reasons due to
which quantity supplied increases with the increase in price.
Firstly, the curve is used for nominal variable like wage rate and in short run, the nominal wage rate is
fixed which resulted in higher profits that give expansion in the output. ... Show more content on

When demand is at low level, large number of production does not use their fixed capital equipment
then the result will be increase in production without diminishing returns. So average price level does
not increase but production increases. When demand is increased, the prices will increase which
results in a steep curve.
Long Run in Aggregate Supply Curve
In long run, aggregate supply is affected from capital, labor and technology because everything is
assumed to be used optimally at this point. In long run, aggregate supply curve is perfectly vertical
which economists belief that changes in aggregate demand is the only reason of temporary change in
total output. In long run, only one quantity will be supplied and wage rate varies with economic
conditions i.e. high unemployment leads to fall in nominal wage rate and vice

Organ donation is the surgical removal of organs or a tissue transplanted to another for the purpose of
exchanging a failed organ injured by disease or injury. Organs and tissues that can be transferred are
liver, kidneys, pancreas, heart, lungs, intestines, cornea, middle ear, skin, bone, bone marrow, heart

There should be a call for stricter regulation of post mortem human tissue. It would seem obvious that
what is of paramount value in life would necessarily depreciate in death. This is not true of the human
body. With the emergence of biotechnology and the consequent need for post mortem human tissue,
the human cadaver has become quite valuable. In pieces and parts or in its entirety, organizations will
pay top dollar for the human body, even after it houses the human spirit.
Throughout history, civilizations have found uses for the bodies, organs and tissue of the dead. The
potential for the human cadaver is ever expanding. Since 1954, human organs have been successfully
transplanted into living recipients who would otherwise die. (Ranee Khooshie Lal Panjab) Modern
researchers use cadaver tissue to study physiological processes and conduct testing. Clinicians restore
transplant recipient functions through procedures that include skin grafts and corneal transplants.
Cadavers are essential to medical school anatomy classes, forensic experts measuring body
decomposition etc. According to the World Health Organization (WHO) organs worldwide both are
legal and illegal, but the use of the organ only decrease half of the actual need.
A particular heated debate has risen on the matter of legislative defaults on cadaveric organ donation.
In many countries, including the U.S., Great Britain, Germany and Austria, cadaveric organ

Diet Of A Man s Diet
When a couple is trying to conceive, there are obvious things that the woman can do to improve their
chances of conception and improve their chances of a healthy pregnancy. For example, women often
change their diets or begin taking folic acid. Yet most people do not think about how important the
potential dad s diet can be. A man s diet (the way that he eats and nutritional intake) can have a huge
influence on his sex drive (necessary for obvious reasons if you want to make a baby together), sperm
count, and sperm health. Although men do create sperm pretty much constantly, I was shocked when I
found out what a long process it is. It takes sperm approximately twelve to fourteen weeks to mature!
(1) That means that the health of a man is important for months before conception. Diet plays an
important role in creating adequate numbers of healthy sperm. So what should dads to be be eating?
The single most effective dietary way for a man to improve their fertility would probably be to eat
more zinc. Zinc plays a crucial role in sperm production, and semen is extraordinarily high in zinc. (2)
Sources of zinc include seafood especially oysters, red meat, pumpkin seeds, dairy products, and
brown rice. (3) In order to improve your body s absorption of zinc, eat it in conjunction with Vitamins
C and E. Most women take folic acid before conception (in planned pregnancies at any rate) and
during pregnancy to reduce the risk of spinal bifida and other birth defects (4).

Analysis Of Joe Painter, A Political Geographer, And The...
The definition of state is ambiguous. The meaning can change depending on the context. For instance,
it could relate to agencies within the state such as government bodies, or the practices carried out by
individuals. Furthermore, the state is part of everyday life and manifests itself through the
combination of institutions, practices, people and discourses. This creates social order (Blakeley and
Saward, 2009, p. 360).
We encounter the state through people such as police officers or doctors; people we may recognise as
professionals. These people work for government bodies such as the police force or the National
Health Service. Joe Painter, a political geographer, mentions every day discourses of state actors
(Painter, cited in Blakeley and Saward, 2009, p. 354). By this he means that the people representing
the government bodies are state actors and the actions they carry out as part of the role are the every
day discourses . These people are physical examples of the state in action but it is possible for the state
to operate in invisible ways. Jill s story illustrates both of these aspects. Firstly, the presence of the
school inspectors and health visitor are examples of the visible presence of the state. There are also
examples of state institutions namely the post office and school. Additionally, the requirement for Jill
to have an MOT certificate for her car is evidence of the state operating in invisible ways. The state
also dictates Jill s routine at

Stewardship As A Whole Function
Stewardship in Nursing
Andreas Munk
The concept of stewardship is an ongoing part of nursing. As defined by Merriam Webster dictionary,
stewardship is the activity or job of protecting and being responsible for something. In this case that
something corresponds to the nursing field as a whole. The concept of stewardship is not thought of as
often as it should be. Sometimes stewardship can be confused with religious meanings or often is
simply not a topic that is heavily weighted. However stewardship is indeed an intricate concept that is
vital for the overall success of nursing. I believe stewardship in nursing is the ability to improve,
enhance, and oversee the prosperity of how nursing as a whole functions. Stewardship entails many
areas of concern such as safety, increased autonomy from other health care professions, accreditation,
economics, and most importantly the overall needs of the patient. As nursing s future continues to
change, stewardship is vital in developing life long learning practices and ultimately shaping current
and future leaders. In order for standards of practice to support the future, nurse leaders demonstrating
stewardship must be able to collaborate to form innovative models of care delivery in order to best
serve the patient and work efficiently within the health care system. In this paper I will be discussing
what defines stewardship and why it is important in nursing. Next, current issues involving

Bugsy Siegel and his Visions on Las Vegas
The notorious Benjamin Bugsy Siegel envisioned Las Vegas to be a great gambling city, and left the
Flamingo behind as a symbol of his contribution to the extravagant lifestyle; however, it is unknown
to most that building the Flamingo impacted his personal life as much as it made an impression on
other s lives for many years to come. Siegel faced a great many challenges during the construction on
the Flamingo hotel. His life became engulfed by the project, affected his business and personal life,
and even created a name for him that would continue down in history. Benjamin Bugsy Siegel was
born into a poor Jewish family in 1906 in Brooklyn and raised there for the remainder of his
childhood. At a young age, Siegel had already developed a troublesome personality and became
involved in gangs that were from the lower east side of Manhattan. Being a part of the local gangs,
Bugsy had committed numerous crimes, the main ones being theft. Often he would steal money from
merchants or just threaten them until they paid him a certain amount. It was not until his teenage years
that he met Meyer Lansky, a now infamous mobster, and became part of the mafia. Lansky and Siegel
became close friends during their youth, which also happened to be the same time that Meyer Lansky
was putting together a small time mob. As author Ric Dickinson, author of Benjamin Bugsy Siegel,
stated in his article, During adolescence, Siegel befriended Meyer Lansky, who was forming a small

Tummy Tuck Research Paper
If you are a woman in Louisiana and you have had a couple pregnancies or have experienced a
dramatic weight loss, you may be familiar with one of the downsides of either of these wonderful
things. Excess skin around the abdominal area can become a problem that can cause unsightly bulging
and flaps of skin. You may find that you eat right and exercise regularly, but none of this seems to
enable you to get rid of this final, stubborn bit of fat and excess skin. Benefits of a Tummy Tuck If you
find yourself in the above situation, you may discover that getting a tummy tuck in Louisiana is the

First World War that are readily available for study purposes. The origin of these primary, secondary

strengths and weaknesses of these sources. These sources include propaganda, photographs,
newspapers, journals, books, magazine articles and letters. These compilations allow individuals to

Wilfred Owen asks where are the ...passing bells for these who die as cattle? The author of Anthem for
Doomed Youth leads his reader through his personal struggle and frustration of war. Owen has an
abrasive approach when describing the death all around him and clearly expresses his anger with the
hasty orisons for the dead. He speaks directly of battlefront in the first octet and then includes the
home front in the second half of his sonnet. Owen s purpose is not a commemoration of fallen
soldiers. Rather, he divulges the disgust and disappointment of war. Like McCrae, Wilfred Owen
paints a picture of the multitude of deaths. Back at the home front, ...each slow dusk a drawing down
of blinds. We can construe that the author is not simply talking about preparing for bed in the evening,
but rather lowering the blinds in a room where yet another dead soldier lies, as an indication to the
community and out of respect for the soldier. There is a lack of passing bells for these who die as
cattle....no prayers nor bells; Nor any voice of mourning save the choirs. Owen writes as though he
feels that there is indifference among the death of his fellow soldiers.
The poem, In Flanders Fields, is impregnated with imagery. This poem was literally born of fire and
blood during the hottest phase of the second battle of Ypres. John McCrae had just lost his very close

The Ethics of Online Medical Records
Abstract: This paper describes the ethical implications of developing a national online medical
database. Such a database would contain the lifetime health records of every U.S. resident by
combining information from a variety of sources. The advantages of such a system are many, but in
the end, the question remains whether patients want to trade privacy for better healthcare.
A lonely ninety year old Chinese woman walks into a clinic. Without any medical records, the
physicians diagnose her with stroke, and she is immediately hospitalized. Two days later, her son
arrives at the hospital, apparently quite angry with the doctors. He informs the physicians that her
mother has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Today, the medical records of most Americans are scattered across multiple clinics and hospitals,
possibly across several states. The task of piecing together a patient s medical history can become
quite time consuming and laborious, as the files first need to be located and then faxed [5]. The
possibility of combining medical records into a central medical database would solve many of these
problems, as well as bring new benefits. With a shared medical database, doctors would have vital
information about a patient at their fingertips. Very little time would be lost in looking for a patient s
medical records and piecing the data together.
A shared medical database would save lives by providing accurate and complete information to
doctors, especially those not familiar with their patients. For instance, if a person had a serious
accident while vacationing in a different state, the doctors there would have instant access to his
medical records in his home state. Locating the patient s family doctor and faxing the patient s
medical history would be unnecessary. If the patient has allergies to certain drugs, the doctors would
be aware of it, thus avoiding further complications [6]. With more complete information, doctors
would be given the power to treat an unfamiliar, out of state patients in a timely and effective manner.
Sharing medical data would also enormously benefit organizations

The Lion In Winter Comparative Essay
The case of Becket and The Lion in Winter is a unique one within cinema. Even though they are
technically not made by the same people, these two films share many characters, including the lead
played by Peter O Toole. They both draw on the history behind Henry II and yet differ from both the
actual history and each other. But why did these films make changes, and what do they say about both
the craft of film and the time that they came from? By examining the characters portrayals and the
differences within, one sees that the historical accuracy provides a basis for the films to branch off into
stronger narratives and cultural reflection. Historical accuracy (or the lack thereof) is often the first
criticism against Hollywood period pieces. Yet, for the characters in these films, the historical sources
themselves must be taken with a grain of salt in terms of their accuracy, especially in regards to Henry
II. Peter of Blois describes Henry very favorably, saying no one is more cunning in their counsel,
more fiery in speech, more secure in the midst of dangers, cautious in fortune, or constant in adversity,
and then goes on to say that he believes that the king was in no way guilty of Becket s death.
However, in the text by Gervais of Canterbury, Henry is described as being an adversary to Becket and
violently persecuting those who supported him. The root of this likely comes down to Peter being one
of the patrons of Henry and Gervais being a monk who knew Becket,

True Love In William Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet
Shakespeare Most if not all of the information we as the people have today is an extension of past
inventions, creations, and ideas. Art dates as far back to the stone ages and has continued to be a huge
factor throughout. Literature is one of the foundations of art and the person who has had a huge
influence on it even until today is the famous William Shakespeare. Shakespeare was known as the
greatest dramatist and finest poet who has written in the English language. Dating back to 1592 where
records show Shakespeare featured on the London stage was around the same time he started his
writing career. After many successes Shakespeare and his group were wealthy enough to buy there
own theater called the Globe , which was where most of his plays took place. Romeo and Juliet was
one of Shakespeare s best plays and poems and the morel of that piece is used in today s
songs, movies, plays, poems and any piece of entertainment pertaining to love. It is not just famous
because Shakespeare wrote it but because of the major themes underlying messages and the feeling
you get when you engage yourself into it.
Romeo and Juliet is considered to be a love story and is almost perfect in showing the world what true
love is and the drastic measures he goes though to be with the one his heart longs for. Displaying true
love at first sight, Shakespeare falls in love with Juliet before actually even meeting her. Romeo is

The First Form Of English Language
Editor Doug Larson once remarked, If the English language made any sense, lackadaisical would have
something to do with a shortage of flowers. Even at an early stage, all English learners realize how
complex and versatile the English language can be. Due to its extensive lineage and consistent
reformation, the English language holds a highly diversified panorama of linguistic landscape. Dating
back as early as 410 A.D., the fall of the Roman empire, neighboring countries and tribes vigorously
fought for the rule of England (Literature). In the act, they transformed human interaction and left
imprints of influence not only in monarchy or social paradigms, but in linguistic advancements as
well. The English language has been a hybridized substance molded in the hands of war, exploration,
and cultural innovation. The first form of English was developed during the Anglo Saxon period
which was initiated by the arrival of the Jutes, Saxons, and Angles to England around 449 A.D. The
mixture of the inhabitants Celtic and Latin based dialects in addition to the languages of the three
Germanic tribes, created what is now known as Old English (History). As the Anglo Saxons were
slowly converted to Christians, the number of written religious texts also increased which caused a
linguistic and cultural impact (Durkin). Philip Durkin stated that the impress of the literary culture of
Latin Christianity was one of the primary reasons why researchers were able to

The City That Become Safe
In this paper I will discuss and explain anatomy of a crime decline in New York City as well as if in
these days can we say that the city is safe. Purpose of this book The City That Become Safe written by
Franklin E. Zimring is to show us how crime rate changed during 1990 to 2009. According to author
this book presents a detailed profile of New York City crime over 20 years period. Book provides the
vital statistics of the crime drop by type of crime, by borough, and by year. There are two reasons that
such exhaustive detail is required as a beginning to the study. First, the size and the length of the drop
are without precedent in the recorded history of American urban crime. The second reason that the
details of the crime decline are needed is as a road map for explaining what changes in the city and its
government might have caused this epic decline. The more we know about the specific character of
the decline when it happened, where it happened, which offenses the better our capacity for sorting
through different theories of what caused the drop. In addition, shifts the focus from the two decades
of the decline to an assessment of current conditions in the city. How safe is New York City?.
The mission of this book is to provide a statistical profile of the notable crime decline that started in
New York City in the early 1990s and has further well past the of a new century. The first portion of
analysis will focus on three important features of the official

Dogmatic Differences Between the Roman Catholic Church and the Orthodox Church
Christianity is a major world religion with several branches, which, despite sharing common ideas and
beliefs, have developed significant differences over the course of history.
Perhaps the greatest breach in the Church happened in 1054 and is called the Great Schism. The
causes of this division are sophisticated and rooted in history. To put it shortly, even before the Roman
Empire was split into the Western and the Byzantine Empires, the independent development of the
Latin speaking West and the Greek speaking East led to significant differences in scholarly cultures
and traditions. This controversy resulted in the Schism; the Roman Catholic Church and the Eastern
Orthodox Church were declared as two separate churches.
There have been numerous discussions and works that describe the differences between these two
branches of Christianity. However, an average learner should treat any matter he reads on the subject
carefully, since academic works are not so widely available, and the sources that are readily ... Show

Catholics view the Pope as the Vicar of Christ , the visible head of the church on Earth; thus, he is a

supreme authority over church councils and should be respected by all other bishops. However, the
Pope s authority is only prevalent in regards to practicing of common faith and spiritual leadership. Of
course, there have been cases where the Pope abused his power, but at least in theory the Pope is not a

Mrs. Mallard Character Analysis
In a short story titled The Story of an Hour written by Kate Chopin in the late 1800s, Mrs. Mallard
represents a key character in the story, also known as the protagonist. This story discusses a loveless
and repressive marriage between Mrs. Louise Mallard and Mr. Brently Mallard. This identifies as
unusual, considering that in this time period society deemed that a woman simply could not live
without a man. Kate Chopin introduces Mrs. Mallard as an independent yet repressed woman, which
automatically infers problems between the married couple. Mrs. Mallard unveils her true self after
losing her husband. She becomes overwhelmed with independence and awaits the new possibilities of
living a life she can claim her own. Mrs. Mallard represents a woman who struggles with personal
independence, emotional sufferings, and physical ailments. Mrs. Mallard feels trapped in an
oppressive marriage. When Mr. Mallard passes she feels a sense of vast independence. She embraces
her new life after death experience and discovers a newfound sense of freedom. In The Story of an

How wide should you spread your deck? We aren t trying to break any records here, but we want to
achieve a decent sized span. For the spectators to believe they are seeing the entire deck, you must
stretch the spread the distance you would usually spread a deck if you were having an audience

key to expanding your reverse spread is regulated by how much you slide the cards across one

Whatever the purpose, from now on you must be conscious of how often, and in which direction, you
spread cards. If you have a card selected from a reversed spread but reveal it with a regular spread, for
example, suspicion might follow. The best course of action is to always reverse spread the deck when
having a card selected, returned, or revealed. This keeps everything uniform. However, if that notion
seems too overwhelming, below you ll find several viable alternatives that should satisfy your needs.
Fanning Cards By pivoting the entire deck around your thumb, you evenly distribute the cards in a
circular shape. It s a beautiful way to have a card selected, and does not expose the direction in which
the deck is spread. A cursory look on the internet should yield several different methods of fanning.
Some are more difficult than others, but any kind will work. Dribbling Cards One of my favorite ways
to have cards selected and returned is by dribbling them. Hold the deck from above by using the right
thumb on the short inner end, and second, third and little fingers at the outer end (End Grip). Curl your
right first finger on top of the deck. Starting from the face of the deck, allow cards to fall individually
by exerting and releasing pressure with your right thumb and second finger as you apply pressure with
your forefinger from the top. Your left hand waits underneath, catching the falling cards in its palm. As

Dr. Ben Carson s Philosophy Of Life And Personal Formula...
Dr. Ben Carson s philosophy of life and personal formula for success involves the concepts in this
acronym, including recognizing your own talents, living an honest life, being kind to others, and
showing gratitude for what you are given. Ben Carson used a strategy called THINK BIG become
successful in his lifetime. Using THINK BIG I chose Honesty because if you want to be able to work
for someone you need to be trusted. Also Knowledge is an important one because you cannot perform

Poem Analysis Sonnet 116
Let Me Not To The Marriage Of True Minds
Study the first 12 lines of the poem. Discuss how Shakespeare makes a statement in the first and
second lines, and then use lines 2 12 to give examples which supports his viewpoints.
In the first two lines of the poem Shakespeare writes,
Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments: love is not love
The first line shows that he thinks you should not marry unless you are faithful. He says let me not
which means that he does not approve of the untrue or unfaithful minds marrying. The second line
means that there will be obstacles in your way and you must be willing to face or overcome them.
Otherwise love is not love , or you will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This continues Shakespeare s idea of being faithful and then continues to think about the other person.
He uses the word remover as the one who falls out of love which emphasises the fact that it is their
fault and they are the ones being unfaithful. This could also be used as an example of one of the
obstacles, which Shakespeare explains exists in the second line.
In the next two lines Shakespeare explores love being there forever.
O no, it is an ever fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken
Here he starts to use metaphors to explain his viewpoints on love. In the first of the two lines he uses
the word mark which means buoy to show that the feeling of love does not change or move. He then
says that love faces tempests or storms and is still never shaken. These lines are a contrast to the last
two as they now show love never changing. The next lines show how faithful you can be and that true
love will always come through.
It is the star to every wand ring bark
Whose worth s unknown, although his height can be taken
A metaphor is used here, love is the star to a wandering ship. It guides you and gives you direction.
Also it means that you always follow it or always go back to your true love and also gives the idea of
life and love being a voyage or journey. The second line means that love has no worth, it is priceless
although it can be measured. This continues to expand Shakespeare s ideas on

Ozark Furniture Inequailtiy Essay
Ozark Furniture Inequality
Mat: Introduction to Algebra
Ozark Furniture Inequality For this assignment we are use two rockers that Ozark Furniture makes and
assign variable to them then and then write a linear inequality for them. The linear inequality I will be
solving is: a store faxes an order of 175 modern rocking chair and 125 classic rocking chair to Ozark
Furniture and so will they be able to fill it. I will demonstrate my solution and include the
mathematical work to solve it. I am going to use a graph, which I will not be able to attach to my
document, but will show you how to use them and the findings. Inequality has been hard for me to
understand but I hope for this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first quadrant of the graph was used so the shaded portion goes to the origin before it stops at the
two axes.
The point on the graph in the shaded area would be (50, 40). That would mean that 50 feet would be
used for classic rockers and we would use 40 feet for the modern rocker that would be needed. So to
see if the order could be filled we will plug them in to the equation: 15c (50) = 750c for classic 12m
(40) = 480m which equals 750 + 480 = 1230. We can fill the order.
Another point on the graph that is outside the shaded area would be (150, 100). 150 would be for the
classic rocker and 100 for modern. Now, we plug them in to the equation to see if the order can be
filled. 15c (150) = 2250 for classic 12m (100) = 1200 which equals 2250 + 1200 = 3450 which means
the order can t be filled. Now if we use the point on the line we will have (124, 95). So 124 for the
classic and 95 for the maple. Let plug them in the equation. 15c (124) = 1860 for classic. 12m (95) =
1140 which equals 1860 + 1128 = 3000, which means we will have enough to fill the order. Now to
see if we can fill the order from the fax we have received. Which was 125 for the classic and 175 for
modern. Let us plug them into the equation. 15c (125) = 1875, 12m (175) = 2100, which equals 1875
+ 2100 =

The Nearly Fatal Snow Caving Trip Essay
The Nearly Fatal Snow Caving Trip
Sharp pains shooting through muscles, trying to avoid sleep, hypothermia set in on an Antarctic ice
crevasse researcher. I had the opportunity to go snow caving with my brother, Josh. I was confident in
my winter backcountry skills and anticipated a memorable trip. I did not know what I was getting into.
Growing colder day by day, winter became more dominant. Deep snow made travel difficult. To
navigate through this terrain, I would have to wear special equipment. There are a few ways to travel
over snow: snowmobiles, cross country skis, and snowshoes. The uneven terrain and fresh powder
called for snowshoes. Along with shoes, winter camping requires many other types of gear.

I recommended to my brother that he should put his snowshoes on before his pack. Climbing over the
hardened, plowed up wall of snow, we began our journey.
Beginning at a popular cross country ski trail, the traveling was enjoyably easy. Crunching the
hardened snow with each step and occasionally meandering off the trail and atop the soft snow, my
confidence towered. Distancing ourselves from the car, we passed many pine trees, whose branches
and needles would sway in the wind like bowing Chinese men. I sensed the wind whistling through
the trees, carrying the light, dry snow across my rosy, wind blown cheeks and burrowing between my
neck and shirt collar. In addition, the wind would create beautiful structures of snow, snowdrifts of
every size and shape. Remarkable curves and textures created a landscape like a foreign frozen world.
At this point, the ski trail dwindled to nothing, so we began to break our own trail. After several
demanding hours of trail breaking, we were sweating heavily. The once bone chilling wind had
become a blessing with our now unzipped parkas. We questioned the validity of traveling further.
We had passed many gigantic snowdrifts and possible campsites, but now tired and anxious we began
searching for the ultimate site for our snow cave. Finally, siding a cliff the snow looked deep with easy
access. The evergreen trees, with low lying branches created bowls around their bases. This area of

Essay about Forest gump
Forrest Gump is a film that portrays the life of a man who has borderline intellectual functioning, from
when he was young, all through his adulthood. Forrest was the victim of ongoing bullying and abuse
from the mean spirited children in his area. The movie shows the challenges he faced and how he
overcame them, some with luck, but others with his ability; despite the fact that he has an IQ of 75.
The story plays off in a series of decades in the life of Forrest Gump, a slow witted yet athletically
prodigious man from Alabama that had an influence on the later half of the 20th century in the United
States. Forrest as a child was bullied and had rough times growing up; his relationships were limited

As named before, Forrest has borderline intellectual functioning. This is a disability that effects how
well or how fast a person can think and learn. People with this disability vary in their reading skills
and mathematical abilities. Although a mentally challenged person seems to be completely different to
a normal functioning person they are not so different. They also have needs, desires and joys and
wishes to exceed in whatever they do. There are number of reasons for borderline intellectual
functioning: this may be a result of brain damage or birth defects. However, social, environmental,
medical and cultural deprivation account for most retardation cases and these causes can be prevented.
Borderline intellectual functioning is not a disease, it is a mental illness. Symptoms include: poor
attention, poor concentration, poor common sense, and poor judgment to name a few. Forrest shows
this disability through his hard time understanding things, it took him a very long time to understand
what he needed to do in a football game, or when Jenny was very sick he did not realize how serious it
was. Forrest also has no common sense, he invests money left, right, and center without thinking of
the obligation that might occur, he also at some stage took of his pants to show the president of the

Machiavelli And William Shakespeare s View Of The King
Shakespeare s view of the crown is that of royal incompetence, tyrannical behavior, and years of
discontentment for the people being resided over. Richard II tells the story of a tyrannical king whose
fate is sealed by a loyal noble, which was the typical way politics existed in sixteenth century
England. Regicide and usurpers became a familiar aspect of this story, and the enemy is the one who
has pledged their allegiance to the court. This is just a few of the pitfalls of the English government
seen in this story, that ultimately led to Richard II s demise. In this play, he is matched against Henry
Bolingbroke, a man who had a rightful claim on Richards life, a man who can only be described as a
true Machiavellian. In The Prince, a set ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This decision is sure to lead to his ruin because it was known to Bolingbroke and his father Gaunt, that
the king was involved in the murder of Thomas of Woodstock. Shakespeare shows that a king who is
merciful, is not industrious, instead very incompetent for not putting an end to both parties that know
of his treachery. Shakespeare goes on the show that Richard does not take counsel from those who
have the experience and knowledge to further his rule, much like when he decided to banish Mowbry
and Bolingbroke, that decision was done by himself, without hearing any advice or taking heed of
what the consequences might be. Even Gaunt had tried to help Richard even on his deathbed he says
that his life s counsel would not hear but hoped that his death s sad tale may yet undeaf his ear (II.i pg
401).Machiavelli points out that a prince who inherits the throne, like Richard, is the most enabled to
keep and maintain his power, he who has connections and had witnessed those who succeeded him,
for it is a wise man ought always to follow the paths beaten by great men, and to imitate those who
have been supreme (Machiavelli 28). Richard s arrogance and lack of rationality to heed the wise man
s words are predictable, the steady progression of incompetence proves that England needs a
Machiavellian rule, instead of one who prefers flatterers advice. This damnation of self that is seen

Examples Of Tragic Flaw In Hamlet
Hamlet Essay Paper A fatal flaw refers to the key element in the precipitous decline of a plan or
person. It is an event that could cause an unexpected problem and prevent an opportunity from
accomplishing its goals and objectives. Fatal flaws can be associated with assumptions which are
difficult to establish. In literature, fatal flaw is associated with a protagonist who has a serious
character flaw which leads to their downfall. (Evans, 158). In the play Hamlet, Hamlet s tragic flaw is
his heart. He is a very clever person because he would make devious plans on finding out if King
Claudius murdered his father or not. He becomes hesitant in carrying out revenge on King Claudius
because Hamlet lacks willpower and passion. His incapability to act is indeed the tragic flaw. He had
an opportunity to kill King Claudius when praying in his chamber but he made excuses as to why he
could not destroy him. This indecisiveness leads to his downfall. He again is sent to England by
Claudius where he goes through many ordeals before his flaws lead to Claudius, Gertrude and his
death. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hamlet s procrastination brings in him a building anger that leads to Polonius killing. It outlines why
inability to perform is the tragic flaw of character. First, Hamlet s procrastination leads to premature
deaths of some characters throughout. In a different scene Hamlet hears noises from behind curtains.
He immediately thought it was Claudius who was spying, Hamlet passed the sword through the
curtains and stabbed Polonius who falls and dies. Hamlet s procrastination leads to this because his
emotions were built up so when he hears slightest things that might be Claudius he violently reacts
which is not a good thing because Polonius death leads to two different events that eventually cause
other characters to die. (Kliman,

Cruelty and Insanity in Wide Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys Wide Sargasso Sea provides unique insight
into the gradual deterioration of the human mind and spirit. On examining Antoinette and her mother
Annette, the reader gains a new perspective of insanity. One realizes that these two women are
mentally perturbed as a result of numerous external factors that are beyond their control. The cruelty
of life and people drive Annette and her daughter to lunacy. Neither mother nor daughter have a

Hence it must be said that the cruelty of their living situation, and not a genetic trait, is responsible for
their dementia. Antoinette suffers another form of solitude because she grows up as an orphan. Her
father died when she was very young, and her mother neglects her, preferring instead to only show
concern for Antoinette?s younger brother, Pierre. Antoinette recalls trying to show her some affection,
but also states, ?she pushed me away, not roughly, but calmly, coldly, without a word, as if she had
decided once and for all that I was useless to her.? Thus the reader recognizes that from a young age,
Antoinette yearns for love and must live with the pain of being rejected by her own mother. This
solitude can again be shown as one of many reasons why Antoinette is mentally unstable. Financial
decline also serves to drive Annette into madness. Annette started out as an affluent socialite and is
now a destitute widow. She is unable to adapt to this new, unfamiliar position in society and longs for
her privileged lifestyle. This becomes evident when Antoinette recalls how her mother ?still planned
and hoped perhaps she had to hope every time she passed a looking glass.? Annette tries to recapture
her former _prestige by riding her horse every morning, even after ?her riding clothes grew shabby?.
Her horse and her riding clothes are status symbols that represented the wealth her family once had.

Implementing The Myfloridamarketplace ( Mfmp ) Program,...
Prior to implementing the MyFloridaMarketPlace (MFMP) program, the State of Florida did not have
an enterprise wide electronic procurement to payment system. The deployment of MFMP enabled a
centralized source for procurement activates, automating the state s requisition, purchase order,
invoicing, and payment approval process, making the procurement cycle more cost effective and time
efficient than the formally utilized paper based system. With a state as large and diverse as Florida, the
MFMP team recognized the unique needs of each agency and developed the ability for agencies to
customize approval flows while adhering to statewide standards. The key differentiators of the MFMP
program are the flexibility provided via customizable agency approval flows, a centrally managed
update process, and a streamlined system change request process.
Customized Approval Flows
All 32 State of Florida agencies have standard approval flows that they may customize as needed.
(MFMP interagency standard requisition approval flows are discussed in Appendix A). State of
Florida agencies have the ability to create and customize their approval flows for either the entire
agency or delineate by department or location through the creation of Purchase Unit Identifiers (PUI).
PUIs enable agencies to easily establish budgets, track spend, and search for orders. Purchasing Unit
Identifiers are added and updated in MFMP through a standardized monthly process managed by the
MFMP Customer Support Desk.

The field of healthcare today is continuing to advance. The use of new emerging technologies is
largely responsible for that. Healthcare professionals are able to communicate with one another and

The third important team member would be the pharmacy director. The pharmacy director would be

Before beginning, it should be noted that although this project is to be for a Profit and Loss (P L)

With that said, it cannot be determined conclusively by reading the Income Statement for Kudler Fine

Now it is important to account for any other, miscellaneous income, such sales of assets and interest
on money in savings.
For Kudler Fine Foods, this amount is $7,845 (Apollo Group, 2011) and will be added to the income
of the company to reach a final, Net Income of $676,795.00(Apollo Group, 2011).
Conclusion
Kudler Fine Foods, though fictitious, is doing very well for itself even when compared to a large
supermarket chain like Walmart. When dividing the Net Income of Kudler Fine Foods, $676,795.00,
by the company s Net Sales $10,796,200.00, we get a before tax profit margin of 6.268%. This means
that Kudler Fine Foods has almost double the pre tax profit margin than Walmart s post tax profit
margin of 3.515% (Ycharts, 2012). This means that unless the yearly taxes due for Kudler Fine Foods
is about 50%, they will likely have higher profit margins than Walmart. That is pretty good for a
fictitious company...

Ishiguro Narrative
Ishiguro employs Kathy with a narrative style which has a realistic touch to allow the readers to
realize her nature, She narrates the novel, So the events are based on her flashbacks and stream of
consciousness. she spends time to think carefully about what she says, as if she speaks personally to
the reader, she exclaims I want to talk about such and such but first I ll have to go back a bit to give
you the background and explain why (Ishiguro 138). according to Ishiguro, he employs Kathy as a
means to not giving too much information to the readers in order to keep the element of suspense alive
and at the same time foreshadowing an impending death. This style of narration also consists of
constantly switching which contributes to Kathy s disorganized chronological perception of time and
its significance. she mentions sometimes how she does not clearly remember certain events. although,
Ishiguro very effectively employs a realistic character who has the ... Show more content on

Kathy imagines that it s a mother who holds her baby tightly. Baby, baby, never let me go (Ishiguro

Ruth. For Kathy, the tape embodies her innocence at Hailsham, and her desire for physical and
emotional connection with other people. while For Tommy, the tape embodies this long lost emotional
connection Tommy wants desperately for Kathy to find the tape again in Norfolk. . And for Madame,
the tape recalls the cruelty of the world for clones whom she has tried to protect but whose lives are
defined entirely by their cruel purpose as organ donors for real people. Well . . . I really wanted to find

Pigment Epithelium (RPE)
AMD is the leading cause of blindness in the elderly population, which was estimated to affect around
200 million people worldwide in 2020[1] and places vast socioeconomic burden. Degeneration of
retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) is believed to play central roles in AMD pathogenesis. RPE is a
monolayer of highly pigmented cuboidal cells residing between the photoreceptors (PRs) and Bruch s
membrane. One RPE cell serves around thirty photoreceptors in terms of supporting the visual cycle
and phagocytosis of outer segments[2]. As a layer of epithelium, RPE cells selectively transport
substances across the blood retinal barrier (BRB). In addition, RPE secrete growth factors such as
FGFs, PEDF, and VEGF to support the retina and choriocapillaris. Owing to the ... Show more content

85% of the AMD cases are classified as the dry from, yet wet AMD accounts for 90% of the total
cases of legal blindness in AMD. In wet AMD, abnormal neovascular tissue, which was originated
from the choriocapillaris, grow underneath the RPE monolayer or into the subretinal space. The newly
immature blood vessels can leak fluid into the retina and cause degeneration of the RPE and retinal
cells. If left untreated, the degenerated area will continue to enlarge. The end stage of wet AMD is
marked by the formation of fibrotic disciform scars on the fovea, which will lead to a permanent
central vision loss [3]. Identification of RPE derived fibrotic cells in surgically excised fibrotic
disciform scars from wet AMD patients[4] suggests that RPE cells undergo proliferation and an
epithelium to mesenchymal transition (EMT) as a part of the wound healing response. Currently the
use of anti vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) therapy can ameliorate the condition; however,
this treatment can not prevent the formation of scar tissues and can not restore the loss of RPE

The Pros And Cons Of Soda Ban
1Why has there been so much fuss about New York City s attempt to impose a soda ban,1 or more
precisely, a ban on large size sugary drinks ? After all, people can still get as much soda as they want.
This isn t Prohibition. It s just that getting it would take slightly more effort. So, why is this such a big
deal?
1 soda ban
In 2013, New York City passed a law prohibiting soda containers larger than 16 ounces in volume.
The New York State Court of Appeals later overturned the law.
2 Obviously, it s not about soda. It s because such a ban suggests that sometimes we need to be
stopped from doing foolish stuff, and this has become, in contemporary American politics, highly
controversial, no matter how trivial the particular issue. (Large cups of soda as symbols of human
dignity? Really?) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It s this common desire to be left alone that prompted the Mississippi Legislature earlier this month to
pass a ban on bans a law that forbids municipalities to place local restrictions on food or drink.
4 We have a vision of ourselves as free, rational beings who are totally capable of making all the
decisions we need to in order to create a good life. Give us complete liberty, and, barring natural
disasters, we ll end up where we want to be. It s a nice vision, one that makes us feel proud of
ourselves. But it s false.
5John Stuart Mill2 wrote in 1859 that the only justifiable reason for interfering in someone s freedom
of action was to prevent harm to others. According to Mill s harm principle, we should almost never
stop people from behavior that affects only themselves, because people know best what they

The Impact Of The African-American Civil Rights Movement
In the American Civil War, enslaved African Americans fought for their freedom and in 1863, the
Emancipation Proclamation ended slavery. Following the war, most African American still suffered
racial segregation and discrimination for a long time. The fight against discrimination and segregation
resulted in the Civil Rights Movement, which took place between 1954 and 1968. The African
American Civil Rights movement, had changed the status of the black community forever and shaped
the American politics. The movement resulted in the addition of several federal laws and Supreme
Court cases. In the beginning of the 19th century, racial segregation laws were enforced in all public
facilities, from schools to parks, restrooms, public transportation and restaurants, known as the Jim
Crow laws. The laws called for separation of the black and white community, for instance black
students were only allowed to attend to black schools. African Americans were constantly reminded of
the laws with signs, such as Whites Only . Certainly, blacks were against the Jim Crow laws and were
ready to act. In 1890, Louisiana passed a law, which required separate rail cars for blacks and whites.
The law was challenged by a man, called Home Plessy and resulted in the Supreme Court case called
Plessy vs. Ferguson. The court established that the segregation was fair if it was equal. In the
following decade, civil rights activists worked to change the system. In 1909, the National Association

The entire concept of sharing one s testimony is subjective. A believer can tell someone about their
horrible past, but if they did not know the believer before they were a believer, the testimony could
fall flat. Additionally, it is an non provable method, since it is a personal feeling or experience the
person is describing, not concrete proof. Finally, there is an issue with duplication by other religions,
meaning that other religious believers have a testimony and experience to share, as well. Relying
solely on the experiential apologetics leaves the apologist open to a myriad of problems with proof
and deniability of their testimony.
CONCLUSION
Experiential apologetics proposes that knowledge of God and his grace has to come from a personal
experience which then leads to acceptance of God s truth expressed in the Scriptures. This personal
experience may come from a testimony of a believer to an unbeliever, or through direct experience of
a non believer causing them to become a believer. While several proponents of this method have
developed different interpretations of the form over time, the basic principle still remains valid that a
shared experience can help to save a lost soul. Although experiential apologetics are considered one of
the personal and intimate forms of apologetics, it is also considered one of the weakest forms due to

The Importance of Low Aggregate Volatility in the US Economy
Since the mid 1980 s the United States economy has been characterized by low inflation and low
volatility in the market. The Former Fed chairman Ben Bernanke has even gone as far to say that the
Fed has tamed the business cycle. Supporters of this idea believed that deregulation of the financial
sector and controlling inflation would bring long expansions and limited recessions. What were the
factors that caused this period of stable economic growth? This period of low volatility was due to
both Fed regulation and good timing or luck. The financial crisis has obviously proven that the Fed
has not fully tamed the business cycle. Whether any rise in volatility is more likely temporary than
permanent will depend on the cause of the rise in volatility (Clark, 5 6). Now the question remains is if
The Great Moderation is really over, and if the economy can return to this period of low volatility.
Some believe that this rise in volatility is only temporary. Why is low aggregate volatility so
important? For starters, the market is more stable and investors animal spirits are kept in check.
People are more optimistic about employment and economic growth. Low inflation helps keep
economic and business forecasting less volatile. Lower volatility of inflation improves market
functioning, makes economic planning easier, and reduces the resources devoted to hedging inflation
risks (Bernanke, 145). A stable economy is always the goal for the Fed. In order to have a stable

The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. The treaty that ended the...
The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, which came into effect on 2 February 1848, ended the Mexican
American war and formally resolved territorial disputes resulting from that conflict. The treaty
required the U.S. government to pay the Mexican government $15 million dollars, this in return for an
expanse of territory that later became the states of Arizona, New Mexico, and parts of Utah, Nevada,
and Colorado. I intend to argue that the treaty benefitted the people who inhabited, and later came to
inhabit, that territory. I also propose that, as a result of the transfer of territory from a dictatorial
regime to one that was based on democratic principles, both Mexico and the United States ultimately
benefitted in several ways.
The Treaty of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This was, at the time, one of the most populous cities in Northern Mexico, having a population of of
nearly fifteen thousand inhabitants. (The Mexican War 33). About the same time, Taylor and his army
won the battle of Buena Vista. The terrain in northern Mexico is difficult, and water scarce. Perhaps
this is why, after a number of arduous campaigns in the north, Taylor seemed to lose interest in
fighting. Instead of pressing south towards the Mexican capital, he was content to remain in the north.
Because of his lack of fighting spirit, Pres. James Polk lost faith in him as a leader. Instead, he turned
to General Winfield Scott, who lost no time in making for the Mexican capital. The American army
and generals proved significantly superior to the Mexican forces and in less than a year and a half the
American army had captured Mexico City and the Mexican Republic had to sue for an unfavorable
peace. (The Mexican American War).
The treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo contained twenty articles. The most important of these were the
payment of $15 million already mentioned, and the transfer of territory. The U.S. pledged to withdraw
its troops from the Mexican capital, cease its blockading of Mexican ports, and to withdraw all of its
forces from Mexico within three months of the signing of the treaty.
In the territories ceded to the United States, the Mexicans there resident were allowed to

The Case Of Dr. Charles Smith
Can a pathologist, after being discredited get off virtually free from his life destroying mistakes? Dr.
Charles Smith is certainly making it clear that, the penalties are far from just. Dr. Smith was formally
known to be one of Canada s best in, forensic child pathology. He practiced at SickKids in Toronto
and conducted more than 1000 autopsies. Dr. Charles Smith conducted the autopsy on Brenda Waudby
s 21 month old daughter which resulted with, Brenda being charged with second degree murder in
1997. In 2006, however, the baby sitter who was looking after the child pleaded guilty to
manslaughter. Brenda Waudby was one of the many of the victims wrongfully convicted because of
Dr. Smith s statements.

I simply cannot accept such a sweeping attempt to escape moral responsibility. ¹ The Ontario College
of Physicians and Surgeons stripped Dr. Charles Smith of his certificate to practice, the doctor has not
practised since 2008. Dr. Smith was also fined just below four thousand dollars, however, following a
year he may be able to reapply to be certified in another province.
In Brenda Waudby s case, her 21 month old daughter was left care of a baby sitter aged 14. That night
her daughter died in the hospital a pubic hair was found in her groin area, however that pubic hair was
later lost. In 1997 following the autopsy Dr. Smith concluded that the child suffered abdominal trauma
whilst in the care of her mother. The crown withdrew the case concluding that the injuries occurred
when the child was not under Mrs. Waudby s care. Five years following, the pubic hair that had
disappeared was found in Dr. Smith s office by authorities. Dr. Smith had previously testified that he
knew nothing about the pubic hair. In 2006 the baby sitter who watched the daughter pleaded guilty
for manslaughter. J.D. admitted to beating and sexually assaulting Jenna and pleaded guilty to
manslaughter in December 2006. The court sentenced him to 22 months in prison. ² Unfortunately
though, no charges of sexual assault were laid due to lack of evidence. In 2006 Brenda Waudby filed a
lawsuit along with some of the others victims effected by Dr. Smith s statements. Louise

  • 3. The Italian People, Culture and Cities in Movies,... (1) How do the films discussed link the concepts of ‚crime and ‚travelling ? What makes travelling such an interesting phenomenon within the crime genre? Please also refer to the narrative structure of crime films. Travelling has used to be an activity that entirely differs from our everyday life, an escape in order to find authenticity. Travelling forces people from their comfort zones and lead to new emotions, new actions, new perceptions, acquired through the prism of another reality. For a long time it has been a privilege available only for a group of eligible. Not surprisingly, the idea of interconnectivity between crime and travelling is highly exploited in the movie industry exposing the gap between expectations and reality, between dream world and real world. Both the notion of crime and travelling are built around the idea of observing spaces and places, people and their actions with the possibility of expectations being destroyed at any moment. Often tourists try to plan their trips with the smallest details to avoid any unpredictable situation, especially nowadays in the time of the easy accessible images and reviews about destinations. They are very persistent in their attempts to establish an order on a world. Crime stories are also concerned with this idea. The most thrilling effect in movies can be achieved by putting crime and travelling into one story. When touristic stereotypes are destroyed, anticipated actions are not performed, seeming strong ... • 4. Aggregate Supply Curve AGGREGATE DEMAND, AGGREGATE SUPPLY, FISCAL AND MONETARYPOLICY Q No 1. Explain why the Aggregate Supply curve is upward sloping in the short run and vertical in the long run? Aggregate supply is the total supply of goods and services produced by any firm in a country for economic plan and sell these goods and services during a year. These goods and services are willing to sell at a given price by firms. Short Run Aggregate Supply Curve In short run, the aggregate supply curve will go upward because there are two main reasons due to which quantity supplied increases with the increase in price. Firstly, the curve is used for nominal variable like wage rate and in short run, the nominal wage rate is fixed which resulted in higher profits that give expansion in the output. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When demand is at low level, large number of production does not use their fixed capital equipment then the result will be increase in production without diminishing returns. So average price level does not increase but production increases. When demand is increased, the prices will increase which results in a steep curve. Long Run in Aggregate Supply Curve In long run, aggregate supply is affected from capital, labor and technology because everything is assumed to be used optimally at this point. In long run, aggregate supply curve is perfectly vertical which economists belief that changes in aggregate demand is the only reason of temporary change in total output. In long run, only one quantity will be supplied and wage rate varies with economic conditions i.e. high unemployment leads to fall in nominal wage rate and vice ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Organ donation is the surgical removal of organs or a tissue transplanted to another for the purpose of exchanging a failed organ injured by disease or injury. Organs and tissues that can be transferred are liver, kidneys, pancreas, heart, lungs, intestines, cornea, middle ear, skin, bone, bone marrow, heart valves, and connective tissues. Each person regardless of age can consider themselves a prospective donors. Before one dies, he/she is assessed to see if they might be appropriate for organ donation based on their medical history as determined by the Organ Procurement Agency (Cleveland Clinic). There should be a call for stricter regulation of post mortem human tissue. It would seem obvious that what is of paramount value in life would necessarily depreciate in death. This is not true of the human body. With the emergence of biotechnology and the consequent need for post mortem human tissue, the human cadaver has become quite valuable. In pieces and parts or in its entirety, organizations will pay top dollar for the human body, even after it houses the human spirit. Throughout history, civilizations have found uses for the bodies, organs and tissue of the dead. The potential for the human cadaver is ever expanding. Since 1954, human organs have been successfully transplanted into living recipients who would otherwise die. (Ranee Khooshie Lal Panjab) Modern researchers use cadaver tissue to study physiological processes and conduct testing. Clinicians restore transplant recipient functions through procedures that include skin grafts and corneal transplants. Cadavers are essential to medical school anatomy classes, forensic experts measuring body decomposition etc. According to the World Health Organization (WHO) organs worldwide both are legal and illegal, but the use of the organ only decrease half of the actual need. A particular heated debate has risen on the matter of legislative defaults on cadaveric organ donation. In many countries, including the U.S., Great Britain, Germany and Austria, cadaveric organ ... • 6. Diet Of A Man s Diet When a couple is trying to conceive, there are obvious things that the woman can do to improve their chances of conception and improve their chances of a healthy pregnancy. For example, women often change their diets or begin taking folic acid. Yet most people do not think about how important the potential dad s diet can be. A man s diet (the way that he eats and nutritional intake) can have a huge influence on his sex drive (necessary for obvious reasons if you want to make a baby together), sperm count, and sperm health. Although men do create sperm pretty much constantly, I was shocked when I found out what a long process it is. It takes sperm approximately twelve to fourteen weeks to mature! (1) That means that the health of a man is important for months before conception. Diet plays an important role in creating adequate numbers of healthy sperm. So what should dads to be be eating? The single most effective dietary way for a man to improve their fertility would probably be to eat more zinc. Zinc plays a crucial role in sperm production, and semen is extraordinarily high in zinc. (2) Sources of zinc include seafood especially oysters, red meat, pumpkin seeds, dairy products, and brown rice. (3) In order to improve your body s absorption of zinc, eat it in conjunction with Vitamins C and E. Most women take folic acid before conception (in planned pregnancies at any rate) and during pregnancy to reduce the risk of spinal bifida and other birth defects (4). ... • 7. Analysis Of Joe Painter, A Political Geographer, And The... The definition of state is ambiguous. The meaning can change depending on the context. For instance, it could relate to agencies within the state such as government bodies, or the practices carried out by individuals. Furthermore, the state is part of everyday life and manifests itself through the combination of institutions, practices, people and discourses. This creates social order (Blakeley and Saward, 2009, p. 360). We encounter the state through people such as police officers or doctors; people we may recognise as professionals. These people work for government bodies such as the police force or the National Health Service. Joe Painter, a political geographer, mentions every day discourses of state actors (Painter, cited in Blakeley and Saward, 2009, p. 354). By this he means that the people representing the government bodies are state actors and the actions they carry out as part of the role are the every day discourses . These people are physical examples of the state in action but it is possible for the state to operate in invisible ways. Jill s story illustrates both of these aspects. Firstly, the presence of the school inspectors and health visitor are examples of the visible presence of the state. There are also examples of state institutions namely the post office and school. Additionally, the requirement for Jill to have an MOT certificate for her car is evidence of the state operating in invisible ways. The state also dictates Jill s routine at ... • 8. Stewardship As A Whole Function Stewardship in Nursing Andreas Munk The concept of stewardship is an ongoing part of nursing. As defined by Merriam Webster dictionary, stewardship is the activity or job of protecting and being responsible for something. In this case that something corresponds to the nursing field as a whole. The concept of stewardship is not thought of as often as it should be. Sometimes stewardship can be confused with religious meanings or often is simply not a topic that is heavily weighted. However stewardship is indeed an intricate concept that is vital for the overall success of nursing. I believe stewardship in nursing is the ability to improve, enhance, and oversee the prosperity of how nursing as a whole functions. Stewardship entails many areas of concern such as safety, increased autonomy from other health care professions, accreditation, economics, and most importantly the overall needs of the patient. As nursing s future continues to change, stewardship is vital in developing life long learning practices and ultimately shaping current and future leaders. In order for standards of practice to support the future, nurse leaders demonstrating stewardship must be able to collaborate to form innovative models of care delivery in order to best serve the patient and work efficiently within the health care system. In this paper I will be discussing what defines stewardship and why it is important in nursing. Next, current issues involving stewardship in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Bugsy Siegel and his Visions on Las Vegas The notorious Benjamin Bugsy Siegel envisioned Las Vegas to be a great gambling city, and left the Flamingo behind as a symbol of his contribution to the extravagant lifestyle; however, it is unknown to most that building the Flamingo impacted his personal life as much as it made an impression on other s lives for many years to come. Siegel faced a great many challenges during the construction on the Flamingo hotel. His life became engulfed by the project, affected his business and personal life, and even created a name for him that would continue down in history. Benjamin Bugsy Siegel was born into a poor Jewish family in 1906 in Brooklyn and raised there for the remainder of his childhood. At a young age, Siegel had already developed a troublesome personality and became involved in gangs that were from the lower east side of Manhattan. Being a part of the local gangs, Bugsy had committed numerous crimes, the main ones being theft. Often he would steal money from merchants or just threaten them until they paid him a certain amount. It was not until his teenage years that he met Meyer Lansky, a now infamous mobster, and became part of the mafia. Lansky and Siegel became close friends during their youth, which also happened to be the same time that Meyer Lansky was putting together a small time mob. As author Ric Dickinson, author of Benjamin Bugsy Siegel, stated in his article, During adolescence, Siegel befriended Meyer Lansky, who was forming a small mob whose ... Excess skin around the abdominal area can become a problem that can cause unsightly bulging and flaps of skin. You may find that you eat right and exercise regularly, but none of this seems to enable you to get rid of this final, stubborn bit of fat and excess skin. You may find that you are avoiding certain clothes because they don t conceal this problem area. Perhaps you are even avoiding intimacy in some situations because of it. There is nothing quite as emotionally powerful as a restoration in confidence about your appearance when you have such a problem as this addressed in a thorough and successful manner. Medical Benefits Many people do not realize this, but there are also potential medical benefits to getting an abdominoplasty. Several of these have been mentioned in an article on Plasticsurgery.org. After pregnancy, women can sometimes develop Stress Urinary Incontinence (SUI). This is an issue having to do with bladder control where you may experience leakage while sneezing, coughing or exercising. In some cases, it has been found that having a tummy tuck has helped relieve this problem. Pregnancy can also cause the stomach muscles to become stretched, which can sometimes lead to bad posture. The origin of these primary, secondary and fictional sources affect the credibility, perspective and factual information resulting in varying strengths and weaknesses of these sources. These sources include propaganda, photographs, newspapers, journals, books, magazine articles and letters. Wilfred Owen asks where are the ...passing bells for these who die as cattle? The author of Anthem for Doomed Youth leads his reader through his personal struggle and frustration of war. Owen has an abrasive approach when describing the death all around him and clearly expresses his anger with the hasty orisons for the dead. He speaks directly of battlefront in the first octet and then includes the home front in the second half of his sonnet. Owen s purpose is not a commemoration of fallen soldiers. Rather, he divulges the disgust and disappointment of war. Like McCrae, Wilfred Owen paints a picture of the multitude of deaths. Back at the home front, ...each slow dusk a drawing down of blinds. We can construe that the author is not simply talking about preparing for bed in the evening, but rather lowering the blinds in a room where yet another dead soldier lies, as an indication to the community and out of respect for the soldier. There is a lack of passing bells for these who die as cattle....no prayers nor bells; Nor any voice of mourning save the choirs. Owen writes as though he feels that there is indifference among the death of his fellow soldiers. The poem, In Flanders Fields, is impregnated with imagery. This poem was literally born of fire and blood during the hottest phase of the second battle of Ypres. John McCrae had just lost his very close ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Essay on Internet The Ethics of Online Medical Records Abstract: This paper describes the ethical implications of developing a national online medical database. Such a database would contain the lifetime health records of every U.S. resident by combining information from a variety of sources. The advantages of such a system are many, but in the end, the question remains whether patients want to trade privacy for better healthcare. The possibility of combining medical records into a central medical database would solve many of these problems, as well as bring new benefits. With a shared medical database, doctors would have vital information about a patient at their fingertips. Very little time would be lost in looking for a patient s medical records and piecing the data together. A shared medical database would save lives by providing accurate and complete information to doctors, especially those not familiar with their patients. For instance, if a person had a serious accident while vacationing in a different state, the doctors there would have instant access to his medical records in his home state. Locating the patient s family doctor and faxing the patient s medical history would be unnecessary. If the patient has allergies to certain drugs, the doctors would be aware of it, thus avoiding further complications [6]. With more complete information, doctors would be given the power to treat an unfamiliar, out of state patients in a timely and effective manner. Sharing medical data would also enormously benefit organizations ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. The Lion In Winter Comparative Essay The case of Becket and The Lion in Winter is a unique one within cinema. Even though they are technically not made by the same people, these two films share many characters, including the lead played by Peter O Toole. They both draw on the history behind Henry II and yet differ from both the actual history and each other. But why did these films make changes, and what do they say about both the craft of film and the time that they came from? By examining the characters portrayals and the differences within, one sees that the historical accuracy provides a basis for the films to branch off into stronger narratives and cultural reflection. Historical accuracy (or the lack thereof) is often the first criticism against Hollywood period pieces. Yet, for the characters in these films, the historical sources themselves must be taken with a grain of salt in terms of their accuracy, especially in regards to Henry II. Peter of Blois describes Henry very favorably, saying no one is more cunning in their counsel, more fiery in speech, more secure in the midst of dangers, cautious in fortune, or constant in adversity, and then goes on to say that he believes that the king was in no way guilty of Becket s death. However, in the text by Gervais of Canterbury, Henry is described as being an adversary to Becket and violently persecuting those who supported him. The root of this likely comes down to Peter being one of the patrons of Henry and Gervais being a monk who knew Becket, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Even at an early stage, all English learners realize how complex and versatile the English language can be. Due to its extensive lineage and consistent reformation, the English language holds a highly diversified panorama of linguistic landscape. Dating back as early as 410 A.D., the fall of the Roman empire, neighboring countries and tribes vigorously fought for the rule of England (Literature). In the act, they transformed human interaction and left imprints of influence not only in monarchy or social paradigms, but in linguistic advancements as well. The English language has been a hybridized substance molded in the hands of war, exploration, and cultural innovation. The first form of English was developed during the Anglo Saxon period which was initiated by the arrival of the Jutes, Saxons, and Angles to England around 449 A.D. The mixture of the inhabitants Celtic and Latin based dialects in addition to the languages of the three Germanic tribes, created what is now known as Old English (History). As the Anglo Saxons were slowly converted to Christians, the number of written religious texts also increased which caused a linguistic and cultural impact (Durkin). Purpose of this book The City That Become Safe written by Franklin E. Zimring is to show us how crime rate changed during 1990 to 2009. According to author this book presents a detailed profile of New York City crime over 20 years period. Book provides the vital statistics of the crime drop by type of crime, by borough, and by year. There are two reasons that such exhaustive detail is required as a beginning to the study. First, the size and the length of the drop are without precedent in the recorded history of American urban crime. The second reason that the details of the crime decline are needed is as a road map for explaining what changes in the city and its government might have caused this epic decline. The more we know about the specific character of the decline when it happened, where it happened, which offenses the better our capacity for sorting through different theories of what caused the drop. In addition, shifts the focus from the two decades of the decline to an assessment of current conditions in the city. How safe is New York City?. Dogmatic Differences Between the Roman Catholic Church and the Orthodox Church Christianity is a major world religion with several branches, which, despite sharing common ideas and beliefs, have developed significant differences over the course of history. Perhaps the greatest breach in the Church happened in 1054 and is called the Great Schism. The causes of this division are sophisticated and rooted in history. To put it shortly, even before the Roman Empire was split into the Western and the Byzantine Empires, the independent development of the Latin speaking West and the Greek speaking East led to significant differences in scholarly cultures and traditions. This controversy resulted in the Schism; the Roman Catholic Church and the Eastern Orthodox Church were declared as two separate churches. For the spectators to believe they are seeing the entire deck, you must stretch the spread the distance you would usually spread a deck if you were having an audience member pick a card. Instead of using your fingers to help distribute the cards, let s use friction. The key to expanding your reverse spread is regulated by how much you slide the cards across one another. If you have a card selected from a reversed spread but reveal it with a regular spread, for example, suspicion might follow. However, if that notion seems too overwhelming, below you ll find several viable alternatives that should satisfy your needs. Fanning Cards By pivoting the entire deck around your thumb, you evenly distribute the cards in a circular shape. O no, it is an ever fixed mark That looks on tempests and is never shaken Here he starts to use metaphors to explain his viewpoints on love. In the first of the two lines he uses the word mark which means buoy to show that the feeling of love does not change or move. He then says that love faces tempests or storms and is still never shaken. These lines are a contrast to the last two as they now show love never changing. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first quadrant of the graph was used so the shaded portion goes to the origin before it stops at the two axes. The point on the graph in the shaded area would be (50, 40). That would mean that 50 feet would be used for classic rockers and we would use 40 feet for the modern rocker that would be needed. So to see if the order could be filled we will plug them in to the equation: 15c (50) = 750c for classic 12m (40) = 480m which equals 750 + 480 = 1230. We can fill the order. Another point on the graph that is outside the shaded area would be (150, 100). 150 would be for the classic rocker and 100 for modern. Now, we plug them in to the equation to see if the order can be filled. 15c (150) = 2250 for classic 12m (100) = 1200 which equals 2250 + 1200 = 3450 which means the order can t be filled. Now if we use the point on the line we will have (124, 95). So 124 for the classic and 95 for the maple. Let plug them in the equation. 15c (124) = 1860 for classic. 12m (95) = 1140 which equals 1860 + 1128 = 3000, which means we will have enough to fill the order. Now to see if we can fill the order from the fax we have received. Which was 125 for the classic and 175 for modern. Cruelty and Insanity in Wide Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys Essay Cruelty and Insanity in Wide Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys Wide Sargasso Sea provides unique insight into the gradual deterioration of the human mind and spirit. On examining Antoinette and her mother Annette, the reader gains a new perspective of insanity. One realizes that these two women are mentally perturbed as a result of numerous external factors that are beyond their control. The cruelty of life and people drive Annette and her daughter to lunacy. Neither mother nor daughter have a genetic predisposition to madness, and their downfall is an inevitable result of the actions of those around them and the unbearable nature of their living situation. Hence it must be said that the cruelty of their living situation, and not a genetic trait, is responsible for their dementia. Antoinette suffers another form of solitude because she grows up as an orphan. Her father died when she was very young, and her mother neglects her, preferring instead to only show concern for Antoinette?s younger brother, Pierre. Antoinette recalls trying to show her some affection, but also states, ?she pushed me away, not roughly, but calmly, coldly, without a word, as if she had decided once and for all that I was useless to her.? Thus the reader recognizes that from a young age, Antoinette yearns for love and must live with the pain of being rejected by her own mother. This solitude can again be shown as one of many reasons why Antoinette is mentally unstable. Financial decline also serves to drive Annette into madness. Annette started out as an affluent socialite and is now a destitute widow. She is unable to adapt to this new, unfamiliar position in society and longs for her privileged lifestyle. This becomes evident when Antoinette recalls how her mother ?still planned and hoped perhaps she had to hope every time she passed a looking glass.? Annette tries to recapture her former _prestige by riding her horse every morning, even after ?her riding clothes grew shabby?. Her horse and her riding clothes are status symbols that represented the wealth her family once had. Annette desperately holds onto these symbols in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Prior to implementing the MyFloridaMarketPlace (MFMP) program, the State of Florida did not have an enterprise wide electronic procurement to payment system. The deployment of MFMP enabled a centralized source for procurement activates, automating the state s requisition, purchase order, invoicing, and payment approval process, making the procurement cycle more cost effective and time efficient than the formally utilized paper based system. With a state as large and diverse as Florida, the MFMP team recognized the unique needs of each agency and developed the ability for agencies to customize approval flows while adhering to statewide standards. The key differentiators of the MFMP program are the flexibility provided via customizable agency approval flows, a centrally managed update process, and a streamlined system change request process. Customized Approval Flows All 32 State of Florida agencies have standard approval flows that they may customize as needed. (MFMP interagency standard requisition approval flows are discussed in Appendix A). State of Florida agencies have the ability to create and customize their approval flows for either the entire agency or delineate by department or location through the creation of Purchase Unit Identifiers (PUI). PUIs enable agencies to easily establish budgets, track spend, and search for orders. However, Income Statements and P L Statements are, for all intents and purposes, the same thing. With that said, it cannot be determined conclusively by reading the Income Statement for Kudler Fine Foods if the report is monthly, quarterly or yearly or if the reports are constructed on a different fiscal schedule. For Kudler Fine Foods, this amount is $7,845 (Apollo Group, 2011) and will be added to the income of the company to reach a final, Net Income of $676,795.00(Apollo Group, 2011). Conclusion Kudler Fine Foods, though fictitious, is doing very well for itself even when compared to a large supermarket chain like Walmart. When dividing the Net Income of Kudler Fine Foods, $676,795.00, by the company s Net Sales $10,796,200.00, we get a before tax profit margin of 6.268%. This means that Kudler Fine Foods has almost double the pre tax profit margin than Walmart s post tax profit margin of 3.515% (Ycharts, 2012). This means that unless the yearly taxes due for Kudler Fine Foods is about 50%, they will likely have higher profit margins than Walmart. That is pretty good for a fictitious company... RPE is a monolayer of highly pigmented cuboidal cells residing between the photoreceptors (PRs) and Bruch s membrane. One RPE cell serves around thirty photoreceptors in terms of supporting the visual cycle and phagocytosis of outer segments[2]. The newly immature blood vessels can leak fluid into the retina and cause degeneration of the RPE and retinal cells. If left untreated, the degenerated area will continue to enlarge. The end stage of wet AMD is marked by the formation of fibrotic disciform scars on the fovea, which will lead to a permanent central vision loss [3]. Identification of RPE derived fibrotic cells in surgically excised fibrotic disciform scars from wet AMD patients[4] suggests that RPE cells undergo proliferation and an epithelium to mesenchymal transition (EMT) as a part of the wound healing response. Following the war, most African American still suffered racial segregation and discrimination for a long time. The fight against discrimination and segregation resulted in the Civil Rights Movement, which took place between 1954 and 1968. The African American Civil Rights movement, had changed the status of the black community forever and shaped the American politics. The movement resulted in the addition of several federal laws and Supreme Court cases. In the beginning of the 19th century, racial segregation laws were enforced in all public facilities, from schools to parks, restrooms, public transportation and restaurants, known as the Jim Crow laws. The laws called for separation of the black and white community, for instance black students were only allowed to attend to black schools. African Americans were constantly reminded of the laws with signs, such as Whites Only . Certainly, blacks were against the Jim Crow laws and were ready to act. In 1890, Louisiana passed a law, which required separate rail cars for blacks and whites. The law was challenged by a man, called Home Plessy and resulted in the Supreme Court case called Plessy vs. Ferguson. The court established that the segregation was fair if it was equal. A believer can tell someone about their horrible past, but if they did not know the believer before they were a believer, the testimony could fall flat. Additionally, it is an non provable method, since it is a personal feeling or experience the person is describing, not concrete proof. Finally, there is an issue with duplication by other religions, meaning that other religious believers have a testimony and experience to share, as well. Relying solely on the experiential apologetics leaves the apologist open to a myriad of problems with proof and deniability of their testimony. CONCLUSION Experiential apologetics proposes that knowledge of God and his grace has to come from a personal experience which then leads to acceptance of God s truth expressed in the Scriptures. This personal experience may come from a testimony of a believer to an unbeliever, or through direct experience of a non believer causing them to become a believer. While several proponents of this method have developed different interpretations of the form over time, the basic principle still remains valid that a shared experience can help to save a lost soul. The Former Fed chairman Ben Bernanke has even gone as far to say that the Fed has tamed the business cycle. Supporters of this idea believed that deregulation of the financial sector and controlling inflation would bring long expansions and limited recessions. What were the factors that caused this period of stable economic growth? This period of low volatility was due to both Fed regulation and good timing or luck. The financial crisis has obviously proven that the Fed has not fully tamed the business cycle. Whether any rise in volatility is more likely temporary than permanent will depend on the cause of the rise in volatility (Clark, 5 6). Now the question remains is if The Great Moderation is really over, and if the economy can return to this period of low volatility. Some believe that this rise in volatility is only temporary. Why is low aggregate volatility so important? For starters, the market is more stable and investors animal spirits are kept in check. People are more optimistic about employment and economic growth. Low inflation helps keep economic and business forecasting less volatile. Lower volatility of inflation improves market functioning, makes economic planning easier, and reduces the resources devoted to hedging inflation risks (Bernanke, 145).
