Case study The Walt Disney Company: The Entertainment King
1.Briefly describe the type(s) of diversification strategies that Walt Disney pursues/has pursued over
the years.
The Walt Disney company can be seen as a highly diversified company. Over the years, it has pursued
a wide range of diversification strategies that we can enhance:•Horizontal integration: obviously,
Walt Disney has invaded several markets, diversifying its offer to many fields. In 2000, we can find
five big main fields of action where Walt Disney operates: Media Network, studio entertainment,
theme parks and resort, consumer products and internet and direct marketing. Moreover, each of these
categories is itself divided in other categories characterized by the ... Show more content on

The main point is that Walt Disney relied on many logics of diversification to implement the
introduction of new products on the market, and to diversify its activity, that is why its activity seemed
to be so flourishing and so wide.
2.What is the critical resource that Walt Disney is trying to leverage in its businesses?Walt Disney
handles a lot of resources in its businesses, but we can consider that there is one main critical resource
that it tries to leverage: creativity, and in a way, all the resources that are linked to it (intellectual
property for instance). Actually, over the years, Walt Disney adopted different strategies, diversified its
activity, always trying to manage creativity in the best way. Under Einer, creativity was handled
through the brain storming meetings, and when they were reduced or became useless, they were
regretted. Furthermore, the only way to survive for the company was to keep being creative, which is
why it had hard times when creativity was not sufficient or handled correctly. Diversification is also a
way to expand creativity to many fields keeping the Walt Disney spirit and culture.
3.The period from 1984 until about 1994 was a successful one for Walt Disney. How was Disney set
up to extract so much value out of its businesses? The years 1984 1994 were those of change for Walt
Disney, under the management of Eisner. And success followed changes and

Legs In America
Introduction
The most resourceful part of the body is the legs. Legs are located in the lower part of the body. Legs
help one to get started, move around, run, jump, and squat. Attached to the legs is the feet. Feet are
located at the bottom of the legs and attached to each foot are five toes. Given a careful examination
of the foot, there is a big toe, the big toe constitutes balance. In comparison, Just as a body, though
one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ (1 Corinthians 12: 12,
NIV). Similarly, America has many resourceful parts, forming the United States of America. Not
everyone is located in these United States, or privilege to become part of the land of opportunity; as
there are those who are not privileged to have the resources of their legs, or balance themselves on
their own feet. A recommendation to experience a child like pleasure is Pensacola, Florida. Florida is

The Melbourne Storm are the best team in the history of the NRL. We congratulate them on having
the consistency, drive, stamina and determination to be able to be in the NRL Grand Final over the

greatness. We cheer for the Melbourne Storm at their matches when it s win, lose or draw and we
cheer for our colours when we make it into the finals or the Big Dance, which is the NRL Grand Final.

The Evolution Of Multiple Women s Organizations
Multiple women s organizations formed in diverse communities throughout the country, each with a
different objective. The National Women s Organization focused on political, employment and
governmental equality (National Organization for Women, 1966). The Redstockings called for class
consciousness (Redstockings, 1969), attempting to break down class barriers to unify the cause. In
1975, a group of feminists opened A Women s Coffee House in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It was
originally formed as a collective but evolved into a hub for the lesbian community, centering on sexual
oppression and the dominance of men (Enke, 2003). The Coffee House and other small local groups
became prime examples of the divisions within the feminist movement. The

The Geography Of Bliss By Eric Weiner
Different countries have different cultural values and traits. People with different culture have a huge
difference than people in an organization. Culture is the sum total of ways of living built up by a group
of human beings and transmitted from one generation to another (dictionary.com). In the book, The
Geography of Bliss by Eric Weiner, he discussed the different values and traits of different countries
during his journey in finding the data of happiness. In his journey, he mentioned some countries
particularly Netherlands, Switzerland, Bhutan and Qatar. People in Netherlands have known for their
tolerance, while people in Switzerland have known for their self policing and thriftiness. In addition,
people in Bhutan are different they are compassionate, they believe in imaginative possibilities, they
are religious, and do not value money. Moreover, Qatar is opposite of the three countries. Unlike
Bhutan, Qatar people beliefs depend on money, privilege, and luck. Indeed, culture has significant
effect in people s values and traits that causes cultural differences in different countries.
First is Netherlands, Dutch culture is distinctive for their tolerance. They tolerate drugs, prostitution
and cycling. Most European spends most of their time in cafes. They talk everything under the sun.
They spend their time in the cafe thinking until something came out in their mind. Even Weiner s

Do Dogs Make Better Pets Than Cats Research Paper
Do Dogs Make Better Pets Than Cats?
Imagine : You are are at a pet adoption center, trying to pick out a pet. The only pets they have are
dogs and cats. Which would you pick and why? Cat videos are hysterical, but dogs remain the more
flexible pet. (not literally) Dogs are by far the most popular pet to love. They are also extremely loyal
and, I guess you could say, caring. As of 2011, a survey showed that the two most popular pets to own
are dogs and cats. Even though the total number of pet cats is more than dogs, households that own
dogs outnumber cats. Hence the crazy cat lady reference, many of the households of cat owners

A Summary Of The Smoke Signals And Fences
We ve all experienced tough love before from somebody who wants us to prosper in life and be
successful. They push you harder than you think you can go. However while their attempts to lead you
to do better may not go as intended. This happens more often with parents and their children. In some
of the works we focused on this semester, we viewed examples of this happening with the father and
the son. In the play, Fences, main character Troy does this with his son Cory. Troy is overly stubborn,
so in his mind, the obstacles that he dealt with in life still happens. This is why Troy is so hard on his
son, because he doesn t make the same mistakes that he already made. He doesn t take into
consideration that times have changed in the world. In life we do what we can and whatever it takes
for those we love so they don t make the same mistakes that we ve already made. In the play, Fences
and the film Smoke Signals we see examples of this between the father and the son. However, there
are some differences between the two.
Never once, throughout the play, had Troy ever told his son that he loved him. When Cory wanted to
go to football practice, Troy refused to allow him and told him to go get a job instead. Troy wants his
son to go out and get his own money so he will never be in the position that his father was in at such a
young age. The discord in Troy s

The Revolution Was A Huge Period Of Change From 1775-1783
The American Revolution was a huge period of change from 1775 1783. The revolution was
extremely revolutionary in some cases. At other times, the reevolution didn t change anything.
America would not be the America it is today if the revolution didn t change the style of government.
America would be a country ran by a king if it weren t for revolutionary change of government. On
the other hand, the revolution did absolutely nothing for slaves and blacks. The laws that were set in
the 1780 s against slavery were way too lenient and that allowed no change to occur. It is evident that
the revolution was revolutionary and it wasn t at the same time.
The ideas about government, are one of the major changes that took place during the revolution.
Although many people do not see how revolutionary the ideas of government actually were, ending a
monarchy government is extremely revolutionary. A picture printed by Andre Bassett, shows multiple
men taking down an English statute . This shows how the colonists viewed the old government. For
example, the statue represents all of the power that Great Britain has over the colonies, and the
colonists are trying to bring it to an end so they are taking down the statue (Document A). The tearing
down of the statue helps show that the colonists no longer wanted to tolerate the government under
Great Britain. A follow up example is an except from The Unanimous Declaration of the Thirteen
United States of America. ...[T]hat to secure these

Speech On Secularism
It cannot be denied that in a multicultural and a multifarious religious state, secularism cannot be
given any precise definition. It is a tool in the hands of the State to use it judiciously for the promotion
of inter communal peace and harmony, and to ensure, depending on the peculiarities of each case, that
all the communities receive equal treatment.
India waited another twenty seven years to enshrine secularism as one of the objectives of the nation.
On 1 September 1976, through the 42nd Amendment Act, passed during an internal emergency, the
words secular and socialist were formally added to the preamble of the Constitution. Then proposed
constitutional changes can be considered under the following heads: (i) Amendability of the

R. Gokhale, made a lengthy speech on its far reachingconsequences. Yet about secularism and its
introduction in the preamble of the Constitution, this was all he had to say:
(T)he objectives which we had always in view, namely, socialism and secularism, which we have tried
to implement, will be more and more implemented and will be more accurately and correctly reflected
in a basic part of our Constitution, namely, the Preamble. Let anyone say that socialism or secularism
is incapable of definition (sic).
Well, in order to accept that argument of the Law Minister , one may say that democracy in that sense
is also incapable of definition because, it is understood in different ways in different countries. But,
there is consensus on the way we practice democracy. In the same way, the meanings of the words
socialism and secularism are well understood and embedded in the Constitution. Thus, all the
argument seems futile but the main objective of the amendment to the Preamble was a very important
and fundamental feature of the Amendment

Tourism In UK Tourism
To begin with this could be classed as a positivity as the tourism industry sector is still growing
despite the different impact, however this could also be seen as a negative according to the WTTC
findings because it has meant that within the Brexit it includes that immigrants might have to go back
to their own countries. This is showing as since there are mostly foreigners working in the sector like
working in hotels, there is an opening for more vacancies, this could mean less people are able to
effectively give good tourist services. Whilst focusing on how the sector has boosted the UK s
economy in different ways, there are also somethings which could change for UK travellers.
According to express article for tourists who are going on holiday they would need to keep on top of
the Brexit holiday rules, when travelling to Europe , this suggests that the guide book was made to
ensure they understand the rules, when entering a European country but ensuring rules are being kept.
The studies from this article shows that there is a main focus on passport changes, euros and exchange
rates, visas and healthcare, when it comes to the passport the Foreign and Commonwealth Office
describes it as still giving the British people the freedom to travel but having this passport at all times.
Moreover, when looking at the travelling of the industry within the tourism industry, staycation has

Don Quixote Journey
Believe it or not, I was once a legendary knight errant by the name of Don Quixote. I travelled across
the Spanish province of La Mancha with my loyal squire, Sancho Panza, in search of adventures,
beautiful ladies, and princesses to whom I can offer my knightly services. I was a bold and valiant
knight. My greatest and most memorable adventure, perhaps, is my encounter with the giants of the
plains of La Mancha who had thousand of arms. The battle which ensued was so glorious that
whoever hears of it strangely accuses me of being a madman. However, after my forced retirement
from being a knight errant, I fell ill and during my last hour I realized that all my adventures were
indeed hallucinations and my greatest adventure was simply a comical duel between I and windmills.

Yet I believe that the most beautiful thing about reading is that it develops and sharpens our

The Major Problems with Pollutants on the Great Lakes
Project Proposal
Title
The Title of this essay is called What is the Major Problems with Pollutants on the Great Lakes . The
essay explains that there is a problem going on in the Great Lakes with people who live around the
Great Lakes area in that what they are throwing into the lakes; whether it would be from trash or fecal
matter it is all causing major effects on the ecosystem on the Great Lakes, in turn effecting the fish and
water we consume. This is not only a major problem for the lakes but also the humans that depend on
those lakes.
Claim The Great Lakes have been under threat for the last two centuries, but the situation is the far
worse today. It use to be believed that dumping sewage or chemicals into rivers and lakes was a great
way to dilute and disperse it. As it turns out, it s not a good idea since those are the very rivers and
lakes that we get our drinking water from. In recent decades, a lot has been done to stop that practice,
but the sources and amount of pollution keeps skyrocketing each year. This pollution in the lakes must
be stop at once or else bad consequences will be appond us because of it

The End Of Times Analysis
The End of Times or the Beginning of Times
C.S Lewis The Last Battle brings up metaphorical ideas about how the end of times happens and
leaves the reader lingering about what happens next. Lewis mentions the great giant, Father Time as a
figure in The Last Battle, who when woken will interfere with the dynamics of Narnia and the
conception of time. As Aslan awakens Father Time, Narnia becomes shaken up and the concept of
time becomes ambiguous leading to the end of time for Narnia. In the end, monsters are devouring
Narnia, leading the inhabitants of Narnia to escape the old Narnia in order to enter a new, and more
real Narnia. As the monsters devour Narnia, the remains of Narnia become this blank, new world,
which could be interpreted as the beginning of a world (the beginning of Narnia or the beginning of
the real world), making The Chronicles of Narnia a book without an end. The world of Narnia had to
start somewhere and must have developed over time to become Narnia at its prime (earlier on in the
chronicles) compared to in The Last Battle, which is a time where Aslan is remembered as a distinct
memory. However, by the end of The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nevertheless, the new world can be depicted in two ways; one way to understand the end of times as
the beginning of times is to see Narnia as a book without and end, in which the end of Narnia creates
the beginning of Narnia, making The Chronicles of Narnia circular. Another way of understanding the
end of times as the beginning of times is to see the end of times in Narnia as the beginning of times in
the real world. The monsters that extinguishes can be a correlation to the non magical creatures of
dinosaurs, which creates a link between the magical world of Narnia and the real world. Either way,
the end of times becomes the beginning of

Wilson s Disease Essay
Wilson s disease is a rare genetic disorder affecting about 1 in 30,000 people (Schilsky, 2014) in
which excess copper accumulates in the body, notably the liver and the brain (Anon, undated). It is an
autosomal recessive condition in which the ATP7B gene on chromosome 13 (EASL, 2012) is
defective. There are around 500 known mutations that can cause this defectivity (Tidy, 2014). The
ATP7B gene codes for a copper transporting P type ATPase usually found in hepatocytes (Huster,
2010) (Roberts Schilsky, 2008) that excretes excess copper into bile (EASL, 2012) (Roberts Schilsky,
2008). When this gene is defective, it causes copper to build up in the liver which can be transported
in the bloodstream to other organs such as the brain ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Serum ceruloplasmin levels can be most accurately measured by assaying using the enzymatic route
(Tidy, 2014). It can also be measured using antibody dependant assays e.g. a radioimmunoassay. Such
immunologic assays can be inaccurate, and give a higher concentration of ceruloplasmin because they
cannot differentiate between apoceruloplasmin and holoceruloplasmin (EASL, 2012) (Roberts
Schilsky, 2008), 2 types of ceruloplasmin. A low serum ceruloplasmin level is not usually enough on
its own to give a positive diagnosis for Wilson s disease as there may be other causes such as
autoimmune hepatitis (EASL, 2012). In many cases, Kayser Fleischer rings can only be visible with a
slit lamp examination by an experienced observer (EASL, 2012) (Roberts Schilsky, 2008) (Weiss,
2016). In many cases, however, other diagnostic techniques must be used. For example, 24 hour
urinary copper excretion levels 1.6 µmol/24 h (or 0.64 µmol/24 h in children) can indicate Wilson s
disease (EASL, 2012). A liver biopsy core of at least 1 2 cm in length (to ensure measurement
accuracy) may also be taken if non invasive techniques are undiagnostic (EASL, 2012) (Roberts
Schilsky, 2008). Processing the sample and analysis using stains such

Narrative Essay On Roaring Dollars
Ever heard of a relaxing time with your loved ones? This year, specifically June 17th, 2017, I went to
Boise, ID for my Cousin s Thirteenth Birthday. We went to Roaring Springs (On June 18th) which was
like the Dollarama version of Hurricane Harbor in Six Flags, where we celebrated his birthday. There
were about fourteen or fifteen of us, me, my Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt s, Uncle s, Cousin
s, and a few friends. We were all very anxious about what s to come and how we re going to handle an
exclusive time with people we care for.
We were in the car and my little cousin was extremely annoying, so I almost threw him out the
window, but I didn t because it was tremendously scorching, which leads to the reason on why we
went to the Water Park. We got to the parking lot and the vision of the Water Park didn t exceed with
my expectations because I thought it would be much bigger. The only thing that ruined it for me is my
cousin peed on the side of my aunt s tire and I bolted to the entrance, so I couldn t see. There were
fifteen tickets and it took about an hour because the scanner wasn t working and it kept shutting off
after each ticket. Luckily, I was first, so I just went through not caring about anyone or anything and
got our seats.
At first, we sang Happy Birthday to my cousin the traditional way, before we went out and had fun.
My cousin got a few, but not a lot of presents. He got a Black History Month, Golden State Warriors
shirt with a big NBA logo on the back. He also got a mini hoop that he hung on the door after our trip.
Another one of his gifts was from one of his closest friends I m pretty sure, which was a Golden State
Warriors plush blanket. His last gift was from us which was Under Armour shorts and thirty five
dollars as well. My family and his family ordered food burgers, fries, chicken, and tater tots which
were surprisingly pretty good. The tots were fresh out of the oven salted and peppered up to
perfection. They had Sriracha, which was one of my favorite spicy sauces which I dipped the tots in
and I almost passed out because it was so deliciously spicy. My only complaint is that they weren t hot
and extremely cold, but it was still pretty good. Afterwards, we went to go on rides that

Almost everybody has had a plush bear when they were young. It s a symbol of tenderness and
gentleness. I personally had different bears made in Germany, China, England...with different forms,
colors and names.
Even if the teddy bear manufacturing is a saturated industry with many competitors, it has not
prevented the Vermont teddy Bear Company to launch its own business.
The Vermont Teddy Bear company (VTB) was created in 1980 by John Sortino. Currently the

choosing with a delicious gourmet (caramel or chocolate) and your own personal message printed on a

With its online website, the VTB Company reaches a larger target group.
* Its Brand image: * Made in USA * Quality handmade * A lifetime and delivery guarantee on every

impact on the customer.
This Brand image was reinforced by its numerous Vermont Teddy Bear advertising campaigns on the
TV and radio. These are especially well done and hilarious in order that people remember the brand.
Thanks to these advertising campaigns, we can see that the main target is males from ages 18 54 who

amount of Kung Fu fight scenes eastern audiences have come to enjoy. This is a stunning love story
between a monk and widow. While it does have its share of over the top fight scenes, when you start
to dig deeper the films many social implications become apparent. With ties to subjects such as
religion, martial arts, philosophy, love, and even gender issues. This film is a representation of the
modern era and how long practiced traditions are being challenged. Each character and plot line
allows a glimpse into the Social and Traditional understanding of a culture.
Each character in the film represents some type of Social structure in China. Focusing on Li Mubai,
Yu Shu Lien, and Jen Yu, you are able to get a sense of the social and ethical ideals of each class.
Begging with Li Mubai, who embodies the stereotypical monk . He is always proper and resilient to
negative influences. He spends the greater part of his life studying Kung Fu, and is the master of the
Wu Dong clan. He is arguably the strongest character in this movie. He is the embodiment of restraint.

In Eph. 2: 1 7, the grace of God collides with man s sinful state of being, in this passage we gain
insight into the heart of man and the heart of God. Historical Context The author of Ephesians was
Paul during the time 60 61 A.D. while Paul was imprisoned in Rome. The location was Ephesus, also
known as Asia Minor, where the population or size was 250,000, it was the only city that was bigger
than Rome and Alexander. The economy was a prosperous commercial center, it was also trade based
and Roman per mental, the economy was very well over all. The culture was the melting pot and they
didn t hate the Jews. They were a very religiously pluralistic environment, they were also very
religious tolerant and also believed in magic. The role of Ephesus was being the light in the middle of
the darkness, the main focus being the church (Frank S. Thielman). When Paul started the church in
Ephesus, he deeply cared for the congregation, it showed in his writing as he tries to assure the people
of the love and grace of God and remind them the place they hold in Paul s heart and God s heart.
Ephesians is the good news book, Paul writes this during his prison stay and is able to look at the
church despite what he may be going through and reflect on God s greater purpose. Paul points out in

A Midsummer Night s Dream Literary Analysis
What literary criticism lens is most effective in creating meaning and entertainment throughout
Shakespeare s A Midsummer Night s Dream? The play, A Midsummer Night s Dream, has several
characters involved in a love triangle. Many scenes in the story involves power being used or taken
away and use of money. Throughout the play, readers and viewers experiences Hermia s power is
being taken away by her father, Eugues, which is her kindred, not letting her marry the man she truly
loves,Lysander. Later throughout the story, Robin, character from the story contains a enthrall love
juice that has power and makes another character from the story, Titania, fall in love with a
donkey. The marxist literary criticism lens is the most effective in creating meaning and entertaining
readers and viewers in Shakespeare s A Midsummer Night s Dream. To begin with, Act 1 Scene 1
helps develop the marxist lens for the reader and viewer. According to a Midsummer Night s Dream,
That s why I m giving him my daughter. She mine and I m giving her to Demetrius. My lord I m just
as noble and rich.. (Shakespeare 1.1, 9). This demonstrates how there is money and power involved in
the story. Egeus, Hermia s father, removes all of her power. Egeus has her power and controls his
daughter, Hermia. In the story, Egeus arranges her marriage with someone whom she doesn t love, and
he doesn t let her marry who she loves, Lysander. Not only that, but also shows how money also is
being used in the story.

Long Fuse Notes Essay
Truth and the Historian Main argument This is both an introduction to the book and an essay about the
causes of World War I, as seen by other historical writers and Lafore himself. He states that World War
I has become a fashion and a fad, and, while there is nothing wrong with the topic being widely
discussed, historians should be careful in using research and analyzing historical topics. The
introduction outlines the sources of the conflict that later was known as the Great War. All of the
events: hostilities between the great powers, competition for the sea, and expansionism: were what has
led to that conflict. But Lafore also argues that no cause can be singled out as the most important,

Unfamiliar Stereotypes
A regular person would typically have an easy time distinguishing an individual who is abnormal if he
is not qualified based on the set of norms a regular person believes and follows. These beliefs are
dictated by the society an individual lives, in fact, he needs to inculcate in order to be accepted. This is
one of the reasons why things or actions that are not familiar to one s knowledge are considered
abnormal for many. Unfamiliar behaviors may cause alarm because a normal person in a society does
not know how to handle or to react properly. For instance, they tend to isolate those people who are
abnormal. An individual may also consider a disabled person abnormal, knowing that the he does not
have the capacity to contribute to the society

Jane Jacobs Chapter 11 Analysis
Jane Jacobs begins chapter eleven, about the last condition necessary for the existence of diversity:
that there should be a dense concentration of people including residents. The main success factor in
this condition is based on population density. The chapter starts off by Jacobs beginning statement
supported by Samuel Jackson. The relationship of concentration can also be known as high density to
conveniences and to other kinds of diversity is generally well understood as it applies to downtowns.
Jacobs notes that high dwelling densities have a bad name in orthodox planning and housing theory;
they are supposed to lead to every kind of difficulty and failure. If there is high population densities in
residential areas that does not necessarily mean that it will lead to the slums. There is a supposed
correlation that is incorrect between high densities and trouble, or high densities and slums.

Woman Warrior Essay
A Warrior s Triumph
The Woman Warrior by Maxine Hong Kingston presents the story of a girl trapped between the
cultures of her surrounding environment and that which her mother and family have forced upon her.
Knowing only the Chinese way of life, this girl s mother attempts to familiarize her daughter, whom is
also the narrator, with the history of their family. The mother shares this heritage through the use of
stories in hopes the narrator will be prepared for her ultimate return to China, which is a life
completely foreign to her own. Through these stories and the strong influence of the surrounding
American culture, the narrator s life and imagination spin off in a new direction. She is confronted by

warrior. Although her mother expected her daughter to become a wife or a slave, the narrator had a
different idea; she would grow up a woman warrior (20). As a young girl, she said that she couldn t
tell where the stories left off and the dreams began (19). This is the case in White Tigers. The narrator
s dream state takes readers into the mind of a girl who attempts to please her mother and entire family
by becoming a woman warrior. This is possibly an attempt to subside much of the harsh ridicule she
receives from her mother due to cultural differences. Although this is a key factor in her early
childhood, she learns to block out these criticisms as she grows older.
There is significant evidence of this growing maturity in Shaman. In the beginning of the chapter, the
reader can find an increased pressure placed on the narrator while hearing about her mother s bravery
and intelligence at medical school. This story added on to those her mother told about World War II
fighter planes, which terrified the narrator for many years. Also, as a young girl, her mother would

Abortion Vs Late Term Abortion
In today s society, there are many topics that cause a lot of uproar and controversy. Certain topics like
politics, homosexuality, and climate change are just a few topics that are debated on a daily bases. One
other topic that has been debated on for centuries is abortion. Abortion is the ending of pregnancy
before birth; this results in the death of a fetus or an embryo. Abortion happens in different countries
around the world, but it is commonly known in the United States. The United States is one of only
seven countries in the world where abortion is legal in some states. Many people know about abortion
and what it is, but what some people do not know is that there are several different types of it. Just a
few types of abortion are early abortion, late term abortion, and partial birth abortion. There is early
abortion, which is when the pregnancy is terminated before the fetus is available, and then there is late
term abortion, which is when an abortion is performed after the second trimester. The most crucial
type of abortion, partial birth abortion, is a form of late term abortion that ends a pregnancy in which
the fetus is removed intact and results in death. Although some people believe abortion is not the best
decision to make and that it should be illegal, early abortion is a little better than late term abortion.
All in all, late term abortion should be banned because it is similar to killing a fully developed child.
As previously stated, late term abortion is

Loss Of The American Dream In The 19th Century
Many connect the beauty of America with its American dream, which includes feeling financially
secure, having the freedom to live the way one wants, being able to retire at 65, owning a home, and
believing that hard work pays off. The connection between America and the American dream is
strongly related to each other based on the interpretation of the media to the ideals taught in school.
Nowadays, a majority of the American population believes that the American dream is dead. In other
words, many Americans believe that America is dying by straying away from its original beliefs that
the American dream is still achievable for today s living generations. This is true, because both
America and the American dream are dying by transforming and straying away from its traditional
values. The American dream from the 19th century compared to that of the 20th century is very
different from each other, such as the American dream in the 21st century. This is because every new
generation in America creates their own American dream. In the 19th century, the American dream
was shaped by the discovery of gold in California, which led to the dream that many 19th century
Americans believed that they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a result, the American dream is transforming in order to fit with today s modern standard or greater
equality among race, gender, and sexuality. Similarly, the laws in America are constantly changing due
to each newer generation becoming more prevalent and influential on how the government runs. As
the older generations begin to die and the newer generations grow up, the more popular opinions
reflect on the greater represented generations of the total American population. Therefore, media
reflects on these growing popular opinions of the newer generations, thus placing more pressure on
politicians to create or change laws in order to appease the majority of the population, or else protests

Low Self Esteem
In the United States, individuals with mental illness have an unemployment rate of 60 80% compared
to the overall unemployment rate of 8 10% (Chang, 2015). However, this high unemployment rate
does not reflect an unwilling labor force, as many individuals with mental illness state a desire for
employment (Henry Lucca, 2004). Individuals with mental illness face stigma from multiple sources
surrounding employment such as care givers, employers, and coworkers. Mental illness care givers are
often contributors to stigma surrounding mental illness, and can cause low self esteem in those they
care for. This low self esteem exacerbates the struggles individuals with mental illness experience in
the work place, and contributes to their unemployment (Henry Lucca, 2004). Individuals with mental
illness encounter discrimination during the hiring process and in the types of jobs they are offered
(Tsang, Angell Corrigan, 2007; Henry Lucca, 2004). Finally, individuals with mental illness often
suffer from unsupportive work environments, which can contribute to longer recovery times since
meaningful employment is an important aspect of mental illness treatment (Chang, 2015; Gold,
Macias Rodican, 2016). Mental illness stigma from care givers, employers, and coworkers must be
eliminated because it contributes to unemployment. Care givers for individuals with mental illness
include psychiatrists, mental health institutions, and loved ones. While care givers try and keep their

The Harmful Effects of No Child Left Behind
The Harmful Effects of NCLB
The No Child Left Behind act is the Bush administration s sweeping educational reform, aimed at
improving the performance of the nation s public schools by introducing accountability. Supporters of
the act claim that it will increase the performance of all school children by raising the standards and
allowing parents greater freedom in choosing the school they want their child to attend. The act also
puts in place a system of punishment for schools if their student body does not perform to the
standards set down by the National government (NCLB act). As well as increasing standards, this act
also encourages teachers to use a curriculum which the government developed with scientifically

She had wanted to tell him that he didn t have to take the test, and that he could do something else
until the other children were done, but because of the NCLB act, she had to make him sit there for the
entire test period while he cried uncontrollably. This type of overarching test not only prevents
teachers from catering to lower performing students; it also prevents them from challenging the
exceptional students. When a teacher is required to teach all of the children at the same level, it
prevents many kids from learning to their potential; instead forming an environment in which every
child strives for mediocrity.
Many teachers complain that all of the joy of teaching, the very reasons why they went into the
profession, have been replaced by prescripted lessons and impossible standards (Tyre 1). One teacher
from Ohio describes how she teaches words by pointing at each letter and having the kids tell her the
sound, and then asking the class as a whole what the word is (this lesson coming from a book of 200
pre made lessons) (Wood 13). These types of universal instruction abound through all public schools.
It is clear that when teachers are required to teach this way, they will be unable to cater to specific
children s needs, instead pushing them all toward the same, standardized goal. I observed this effect

The Prevalence Of Racism On America s Youth
I have always advocated for social equality and have been aware of the prevalence of racism.
However, my forethought now seems insignificant compared to the degree of racism that James W.
Loewen suggests is indoctrinating the minds of America s youth. Loewen takes readers on an
enlightening journey through his book, Lies My Teacher Told Me: Everything Your American History
Textbook Got Wrong. The book intends to expose the false claims and lack of information in standard
American high school history textbooks. He aims to correct the stigma behind how and why American
history is so misrepresented and why it is important to represent history accurately and not limitedly.
He proposes a few ways in which we can reform the teaching of history as well. Throughout the book,
he largely focuses on the shortcomings or outright fallacies of historical textbooks in regards to
racism, government, colonialism, and patriotism. Loewen serves this book to bring about institutional
change where he feels that it is needed and to stress the importance of factual historical information
and realpolitik. He displays vast amounts of logical and thoroughly descriptive anecdotes and facts,
however, the scrambled organization of his topics, and his clear devotion and passion for the theme of
social justice and anti racism present the problem of bombardment. Furthermore, he does not appeal to
his suggested audience in an adequate rhetorical manner that is consistent with his declared purpose of

the US dollar as the preeminent international means of payments and reserve asset.
The great recession of 2008 2010 resulted from a combination of easy credit conditions during the

It is important to note that this year has been projected from statistics used to study the relative decline
of America and fast growth of China. It by no means projects of the decline of the US in the long run.
The US even after this decline still holds a quarter of the world s GDP. It would be hard to imagine a
nation that relies on investment and international trade with the current economic leader by over
taking it. China may yet be at a stalemate until proven that it can hold and invest their yield to correct
their existing problems such as poverty, labour issues and push the Yuan value. If not then China will
join Japan back at second place as expansion without productivity are only temporary. (Dewar 2012)
This is not impossible task for China, it is most likely probable, but will take longer than the near
future.
In order to see where the US dollar is going we have to analyse the current market and study the past.
Since the fixed exchange rate system of Bretton Woods in 1971 there has been an explosive growth of
international central banks, most of investments of such are invested in US dollars. The expansion of
this particular reserve has opened trade imbalances in the past two decades from its constant use.

  • 10. A Summary Of The Smoke Signals And Fences We ve all experienced tough love before from somebody who wants us to prosper in life and be successful. They push you harder than you think you can go. However while their attempts to lead you to do better may not go as intended. This happens more often with parents and their children. In some of the works we focused on this semester, we viewed examples of this happening with the father and the son. In the play, Fences, main character Troy does this with his son Cory. Troy is overly stubborn, so in his mind, the obstacles that he dealt with in life still happens. This is why Troy is so hard on his son, because he doesn t make the same mistakes that he already made. He doesn t take into consideration that times have changed in the world. In life we do what we can and whatever it takes for those we love so they don t make the same mistakes that we ve already made. In the play, Fences and the film Smoke Signals we see examples of this between the father and the son. However, there are some differences between the two. Never once, throughout the play, had Troy ever told his son that he loved him. When Cory wanted to go to football practice, Troy refused to allow him and told him to go get a job instead. Troy wants his son to go out and get his own money so he will never be in the position that his father was in at such a young age. The discord in Troy s Stafford 2 love for his boy leads to his son asking him why Troy doesn t like [him].(pg...) Troy also believed that giving ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 12. The Revolution Was A Huge Period Of Change From 1775-1783 The American Revolution was a huge period of change from 1775 1783. The revolution was extremely revolutionary in some cases. At other times, the reevolution didn t change anything. America would not be the America it is today if the revolution didn t change the style of government. America would be a country ran by a king if it weren t for revolutionary change of government. On the other hand, the revolution did absolutely nothing for slaves and blacks. The laws that were set in the 1780 s against slavery were way too lenient and that allowed no change to occur. It is evident that the revolution was revolutionary and it wasn t at the same time. The ideas about government, are one of the major changes that took place during the revolution. Although many people do not see how revolutionary the ideas of government actually were, ending a monarchy government is extremely revolutionary. A picture printed by Andre Bassett, shows multiple men taking down an English statute . This shows how the colonists viewed the old government. For example, the statue represents all of the power that Great Britain has over the colonies, and the colonists are trying to bring it to an end so they are taking down the statue (Document A). The tearing down of the statue helps show that the colonists no longer wanted to tolerate the government under Great Britain. It is a tool in the hands of the State to use it judiciously for the promotion of inter communal peace and harmony, and to ensure, depending on the peculiarities of each case, that all the communities receive equal treatment. India waited another twenty seven years to enshrine secularism as one of the objectives of the nation. On 1 September 1976, through the 42nd Amendment Act, passed during an internal emergency, the words secular and socialist were formally added to the preamble of the Constitution. Let anyone say that socialism or secularism is incapable of definition (sic). Well, in order to accept that argument of the Law Minister , one may say that democracy in that sense is also incapable of definition because, it is understood in different ways in different countries. But, there is consensus on the way we practice democracy. In the same way, the meanings of the words socialism and secularism are well understood and embedded in the Constitution. Tourism In UK Tourism To begin with this could be classed as a positivity as the tourism industry sector is still growing despite the different impact, however this could also be seen as a negative according to the WTTC findings because it has meant that within the Brexit it includes that immigrants might have to go back to their own countries. This is showing as since there are mostly foreigners working in the sector like working in hotels, there is an opening for more vacancies, this could mean less people are able to effectively give good tourist services. Whilst focusing on how the sector has boosted the UK s economy in different ways, there are also somethings which could change for UK travellers. According to express article for tourists who are going on holiday they would need to keep on top of the Brexit holiday rules, when travelling to Europe , this suggests that the guide book was made to ensure they understand the rules, when entering a European country but ensuring rules are being kept. I travelled across the Spanish province of La Mancha with my loyal squire, Sancho Panza, in search of adventures, beautiful ladies, and princesses to whom I can offer my knightly services. I was a bold and valiant knight. My greatest and most memorable adventure, perhaps, is my encounter with the giants of the plains of La Mancha who had thousand of arms. The battle which ensued was so glorious that whoever hears of it strangely accuses me of being a madman. However, after my forced retirement from being a knight errant, I fell ill and during my last hour I realized that all my adventures were indeed hallucinations and my greatest adventure was simply a comical duel between I and windmills. • 16. The Major Problems with Pollutants on the Great Lakes Project Proposal Title The Title of this essay is called What is the Major Problems with Pollutants on the Great Lakes . The essay explains that there is a problem going on in the Great Lakes with people who live around the Great Lakes area in that what they are throwing into the lakes; whether it would be from trash or fecal matter it is all causing major effects on the ecosystem on the Great Lakes, in turn effecting the fish and water we consume. This is not only a major problem for the lakes but also the humans that depend on those lakes. Claim The Great Lakes have been under threat for the last two centuries, but the situation is the far worse today. It use to be believed that dumping sewage or chemicals into rivers and lakes was a great way to dilute and disperse it. As it turns out, it s not a good idea since those are the very rivers and lakes that we get our drinking water from. In recent decades, a lot has been done to stop that practice, but the sources and amount of pollution keeps skyrocketing each year. This pollution in the lakes must be stop at once or else bad consequences will be appond us because of it Research review In the five website article that I have conducted They all have seemed to have a correlation between each other. The End Of Times Analysis The End of Times or the Beginning of Times C.S Lewis The Last Battle brings up metaphorical ideas about how the end of times happens and leaves the reader lingering about what happens next. Lewis mentions the great giant, Father Time as a figure in The Last Battle, who when woken will interfere with the dynamics of Narnia and the conception of time. As Aslan awakens Father Time, Narnia becomes shaken up and the concept of time becomes ambiguous leading to the end of time for Narnia. In the end, monsters are devouring Narnia, leading the inhabitants of Narnia to escape the old Narnia in order to enter a new, and more real Narnia. As the monsters devour Narnia, the remains of Narnia become this blank, new world, which could be interpreted as the beginning of a world (the beginning of Narnia or the beginning of the real world), making The Chronicles of Narnia a book without an end. The world of Narnia had to start somewhere and must have developed over time to become Narnia at its prime (earlier on in the chronicles) compared to in The Last Battle, which is a time where Aslan is remembered as a distinct memory. Wilson s Disease Essay Wilson s disease is a rare genetic disorder affecting about 1 in 30,000 people (Schilsky, 2014) in which excess copper accumulates in the body, notably the liver and the brain (Anon, undated). It is an autosomal recessive condition in which the ATP7B gene on chromosome 13 (EASL, 2012) is defective. There are around 500 known mutations that can cause this defectivity (Tidy, 2014). The ATP7B gene codes for a copper transporting P type ATPase usually found in hepatocytes (Huster, 2010) (Roberts Schilsky, 2008) that excretes excess copper into bile (EASL, 2012) (Roberts Schilsky, 2008). We were in the car and my little cousin was extremely annoying, so I almost threw him out the window, but I didn t because it was tremendously scorching, which leads to the reason on why we went to the Water Park. We got to the parking lot and the vision of the Water Park didn t exceed with my expectations because I thought it would be much bigger. The only thing that ruined it for me is my cousin peed on the side of my aunt s tire and I bolted to the entrance, so I couldn t see. There were fifteen tickets and it took about an hour because the scanner wasn t working and it kept shutting off after each ticket. Luckily, I was first, so I just went through not caring about anyone or anything and got our seats. At first, we sang Happy Birthday to my cousin the traditional way, before we went out and had fun. My cousin got a few, but not a lot of presents. He got a Black History Month, Golden State Warriors shirt with a big NBA logo on the back. He also got a mini hoop that he hung on the door after our trip. Another one of his gifts was from one of his closest friends I m pretty sure, which was a Golden State Warriors plush blanket. His last gift was from us which was Under Armour shorts and thirty five dollars as well. My family and his family ordered food burgers, fries, chicken, and tater tots which were surprisingly pretty good. The tots were fresh out of the oven salted and peppered up to perfection. Certain topics like politics, homosexuality, and climate change are just a few topics that are debated on a daily bases. One other topic that has been debated on for centuries is abortion. Abortion is the ending of pregnancy before birth; this results in the death of a fetus or an embryo. Abortion happens in different countries around the world, but it is commonly known in the United States. The United States is one of only seven countries in the world where abortion is legal in some states. Many people know about abortion and what it is, but what some people do not know is that there are several different types of it. Just a few types of abortion are early abortion, late term abortion, and partial birth abortion. There is early abortion, which is when the pregnancy is terminated before the fetus is available, and then there is late term abortion, which is when an abortion is performed after the second trimester. The most crucial type of abortion, partial birth abortion, is a form of late term abortion that ends a pregnancy in which the fetus is removed intact and results in death. Loss Of The American Dream In The 19th Century Many connect the beauty of America with its American dream, which includes feeling financially secure, having the freedom to live the way one wants, being able to retire at 65, owning a home, and believing that hard work pays off. The connection between America and the American dream is strongly related to each other based on the interpretation of the media to the ideals taught in school. Nowadays, a majority of the American population believes that the American dream is dead. In other words, many Americans believe that America is dying by straying away from its original beliefs that the American dream is still achievable for today s living generations. This is true, because both America and the American dream are dying by transforming and straying away from its traditional values. The American dream from the 19th century compared to that of the 20th century is very different from each other, such as the American dream in the 21st century. This is because every new generation in America creates their own American dream. In the 19th century, the American dream was shaped by the discovery of gold in California, which led to the dream that many 19th century Americans believed that they ... Similarly, the laws in America are constantly changing due to each newer generation becoming more prevalent and influential on how the government runs. As the older generations begin to die and the newer generations grow up, the more popular opinions reflect on the greater represented generations of the total American population. Therefore, media reflects on these growing popular opinions of the newer generations, thus placing more pressure on politicians to create or change laws in order to appease the majority of the population, or else protests would ... • 33. Low Self Esteem In the United States, individuals with mental illness have an unemployment rate of 60 80% compared to the overall unemployment rate of 8 10% (Chang, 2015). However, this high unemployment rate does not reflect an unwilling labor force, as many individuals with mental illness state a desire for employment (Henry Lucca, 2004). Individuals with mental illness face stigma from multiple sources surrounding employment such as care givers, employers, and coworkers. Mental illness care givers are often contributors to stigma surrounding mental illness, and can cause low self esteem in those they care for. This low self esteem exacerbates the struggles individuals with mental illness experience in the work place, and contributes to their unemployment (Henry Lucca, 2004). Individuals with mental illness encounter discrimination during the hiring process and in the types of jobs they are offered (Tsang, Angell Corrigan, 2007; Henry Lucca, 2004). Finally, individuals with mental illness often suffer from unsupportive work environments, which can contribute to longer recovery times since meaningful employment is an important aspect of mental illness treatment (Chang, 2015; Gold, Macias Rodican, 2016). Mental illness stigma from care givers, employers, and coworkers must be eliminated because it contributes to unemployment. Care givers for individuals with mental illness include psychiatrists, mental health institutions, and loved ones. While care givers try and keep their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
• 35. The Harmful Effects of No Child Left Behind The Harmful Effects of NCLB The No Child Left Behind act is the Bush administration s sweeping educational reform, aimed at improving the performance of the nation s public schools by introducing accountability. Supporters of the act claim that it will increase the performance of all school children by raising the standards and allowing parents greater freedom in choosing the school they want their child to attend. The act also puts in place a system of punishment for schools if their student body does not perform to the standards set down by the National government (NCLB act). As well as increasing standards, this act also encourages teachers to use a curriculum which the government developed with scientifically based research (a ... She had wanted to tell him that he didn t have to take the test, and that he could do something else until the other children were done, but because of the NCLB act, she had to make him sit there for the entire test period while he cried uncontrollably. This type of overarching test not only prevents teachers from catering to lower performing students; it also prevents them from challenging the exceptional students. When a teacher is required to teach all of the children at the same level, it prevents many kids from learning to their potential; instead forming an environment in which every child strives for mediocrity. Many teachers complain that all of the joy of teaching, the very reasons why they went into the profession, have been replaced by prescripted lessons and impossible standards (Tyre 1). One teacher from Ohio describes how she teaches words by pointing at each letter and having the kids tell her the sound, and then asking the class as a whole what the word is (this lesson coming from a book of 200 pre made lessons) (Wood 13). These types of universal instruction abound through all public schools. It is clear that when teachers are required to teach this way, they will be unable to cater to specific children s needs, instead pushing them all toward the same, standardized goal. • 36. The Prevalence Of Racism On America s Youth I have always advocated for social equality and have been aware of the prevalence of racism. However, my forethought now seems insignificant compared to the degree of racism that James W. Loewen suggests is indoctrinating the minds of America s youth. Loewen takes readers on an enlightening journey through his book, Lies My Teacher Told Me: Everything Your American History Textbook Got Wrong. The book intends to expose the false claims and lack of information in standard American high school history textbooks. He aims to correct the stigma behind how and why American history is so misrepresented and why it is important to represent history accurately and not limitedly. He proposes a few ways in which we can reform the teaching of history as well. Throughout the book, he largely focuses on the shortcomings or outright fallacies of historical textbooks in regards to racism, government, colonialism, and patriotism. Loewen serves this book to bring about institutional change where he feels that it is needed and to stress the importance of factual historical information and realpolitik. He displays vast amounts of logical and thoroughly descriptive anecdotes and facts, however, the scrambled organization of his topics, and his clear devotion and passion for the theme of social justice and anti racism present the problem of bombardment. Furthermore, he does not appeal to his suggested audience in an adequate rhetorical manner that is consistent with his declared purpose of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Discuss the causes of the Great Recession of 2008 10. Does the crisis represent a shift in the centre of global economic power from the United States to China? In your answer discuss the future fate of the US dollar as the preeminent international means of payments and reserve asset. The great recession of 2008 2010 resulted from a combination of easy credit conditions during the financial boom of 2002 2008 which saw a change that lead to encouragement of high risk borrowing, lending practices, international trade imbalances and improper use of credit. The combination of these factors leads to industries requiring bail outs by the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is important to note that this year has been projected from statistics used to study the relative decline of America and fast growth of China. It by no means projects of the decline of the US in the long run. The US even after this decline still holds a quarter of the world s GDP. It would be hard to imagine a nation that relies on investment and international trade with the current economic leader by over taking it. China may yet be at a stalemate until proven that it can hold and invest their yield to correct their existing problems such as poverty, labour issues and push the Yuan value. If not then China will join Japan back at second place as expansion without productivity are only temporary. (Dewar 2012) This is not impossible task for China, it is most likely probable, but will take longer than the near future. In order to see where the US dollar is going we have to analyse the current market and study the past. Since the fixed exchange rate system of Bretton Woods in 1971 there has been an explosive growth of international central banks, most of investments of such are invested in US dollars. The expansion of this particular reserve has opened trade imbalances in the past two decades from its constant use. (Eichengreen 2009). Although this is the case up until the financial crisis, some East Asian ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
