Doubloons which are aluminum coin like objects bearing the Krewe s insignia on one side and the
parades theme on the reverse. You can see the sparkling of the coins in the air and there s that all too
familiar quot;ding ding quot; sound when they hit the street. You can see the crowd bending over to
look for them on the ground. Little toys and stuffed animals are some of the many little trinkets
thrown about. Of course there is always some one waving around colorful underwear to give out to the
deserving fan.
For someone new to Mardi Gras, you must first simply relax and have fun. It is a time for families to
bring the kids out for some fun and celebration. The local Newspaper will have listings of the daily
parades. For the younger kids, going to any of the Day Time parades is best. The streets are packed w/
cleverly costumed paraders, marching bands, music, and thousands of people. It s good to get there
early to grab a spot to set up since the good spots tend to disappear quickly. Waiting for the parade to
make it to your area can be tedious, so brink some food and chairs. Sun block would be a good idea as
well, it may be sunny out there. When the floats arrive they will be tossing hundreds of beads, cups,
doubloons, and little toys overboard into the streets. Since there are so many people in the crowd, you
should try to get the quot;Krewe s quot; attention. Many

The Ancient Greek Chorus Influence On Modern Theatre
Referred to as the mouthpiece of society and morality , (E. Karayannakos, The Actors and The
Chorus, 2007), the Ancient Greek chorus used a range of vocal techniques and elements, which have
influenced and shaped western theatre as it is today (M. Mendenhall, Greek Theatre Influences on
Modern Theatre, 2012). From 7th Century BC to 4th Century BC, Greek choruses are particularly
renowned for their approach in engaging the audience with the context of a play. (B. Simpson,
Development of Greek Theatre, 2007), Specifically, vocal techniques played a main role in this
engagement (A. Thompson, The Ancient Greek Chorus and Elements of Choral Speaking, 2012) and

Antigone believes that humanity or natural laws have priority over Creon s laws and disobeys his
instructions accordingly. Her pride ensures that she will die rather than renounce her beliefs, thereby
bringing further tragedy to other characters (J. Jennings, Summary of Antigone, 2011). Antigone is a
tragic play about defiance, law, death and love (B. Honig, Antigone Interrupted, 2013, pg. 6). These
elements make Antigone one of the most tragic plays in Ancient Greek Theatre as multiple deaths of
main characters occur within the traditional texts. In order to convey these elements the chorus had a
vital role in the process of the play. In Antigone , the chorus at times would directly affect the action
on. The chorus would interact with the actors on stage physically, and through text which aloud a
personal link and connection with the audience on stage (R. Shoutez, The Function of The Chorus,
2010). Artistic Director, Howard Jenson from The Indiana University states: In Classical Greek plays,
the chorus IS the main character. (H. Jenson, Artistic Director, Indiana University Directing Greek

General Electric s Corporate Social Responsability
I chose to look into General Electric for this project because they are an energy supplier and multi
national company. Energy providers have a reputation as a money hungry companies that care about
the bottom line more than people and the planet. It is easy for a person to assume that a corporation of
GE s size, money would be its only concern. What I learned was that GE has a public image problem
more than a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) problem. The company has been working to make
the people of the planet more Earth friendly by creating technology that has higher efficiency with
fewer emissions and lower resource demands. GE has a well established strategy for Corporate Social
Responsibility. As a result of CSR the company ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
CSR lacks universal methods. The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO)
mentions that it is important to draw a distinction between CSR as part of strategic business
management concept and charity, sponsorships or philanthropy. The latter applications make valuable
social impacts that enhance the reputations of the companies, however, CSR is a continual effort
instead of an instance. A few features that CSR should focus on are: eco efficiency, employee and
community relations, environmental management, gender balance, responsible souring, anti
corruption, stakeholder engagement and human rights. Utilizing some of these key features a company
can bring competitive advantages into the market place. Increased sales and profits from operational
cost savings as well as improved reputation and brand image and customer loyalty can result from a
well defined CSR strategy.

Lean Manufacturing And Its Production
Lean Manufacturing
Most people wouldn t know what Lean Manufacturing was if they hadn t either learned about it or use
it at work. Lean manufacturing is a way to eliminate waste and maximize customer value. Delivering
the right product, in the right quantity, with the right quantity, at the exact time the customer needs it
and at the lowest cost possible is the main goal of lean manufacturing. With lean manufacturing you
can have benefits such as reduced lead times, improved quality, improved on time deliveries, less
inventory, less space, less human effort, lower costs, and increased profitability.
The concept of lean manufacturing was introduced in Japan, and Toyota Production System was the
first company to use it. Lean manufacturing simply follows the notion that the customer will pay for
the value of services they receive and they will not pay for the mistakes. It was stated in Challenges in
the transformation to lean production from different manufacturing process choice that for Toyota the
focal point is not to make money but to generate value for the customers; money follows
automatically if the customers are satisfied.
The lean production philosophy is currently widely applied globally in industries such as the process
industry, aerospace industry, furniture manufacturing, the textile industry, hospitals, government
agencies, and the service industries. But, there are some principles that need to be followed in order
for companies to become lean. There are

Summary Of The Dangerous Myths Of Grade Inflation
When it comes to the issues of education and the many different opinions on how education should be
ran; the finger always seems to be pointed at the students. It is the students fault that grade inflation
exists. It is the students fault that there is a lack of effort in the classroom. Think about it though, are
the flaws that occur in education really our fault? Maybe, maybe not. It is important that everyone
(educators, students, parents, and administrators), understand both sides to what is really going on and
the issues occurring in the academe world. An ongoing issue in the classroom is the students lack of
effort. Both teachers and parents often complain about students being rather torpid. Is this really the
students fault? Is it even the teacher s fault? On the student s side, they do not want to be there. Us

grade inflation exists, there have been teachers and professors that have admitted to using grade

interviewed college professors that admitted to participating in grade inflation. The reason behind this,
is to save the teacher s job, or so students continue to take their classes, or because they do not want to
be known as a mean teacher. It is possible that grade inflation exists but it is hard to find evidence to

Introduction
Dovercourt School is a bilingual school which provides English and Chinese program. The school
philosophy is to believe that the students need to be engaged to be deeply successful in their learning.
They believe that the students will be successful by persisting studying, overcoming obstacles, and
delighting in accomplishing their work.
I began to be a volunteer to read mandarin stories to students in mandarin grades three and four in
Dovercourt School in Oct 14 and Oct 16. On the one hand, I believe that volunteering activity can
create my credibility, build self confidence, develop self awareness, and share the vision. On the other
hand, the motivation behind volunteer activity will benefit for those students who need help improve

How was this activity chosen?
When I picked the volunteer project, I have been the volunteer in my son s school for several years. I
like to be a volunteer to participate the activity with kids since they are so creative and lovely.
Furthermore, the most important point is that I would like to observe my son s development closely.
First, I contacted my son s Chinese teacher Ms. Lennon, who is very strict and responsible, and tell
her my requirement. She was very supported my decision and let me to read stories to her students.
Therefore, I became a volunteer to read mandarin stories this week for my son and his classmates.

Tbi Traumatic Brain Injury
TBI termed as Traumatic Brain Injury is an intracranial injury that often occurs when an external force
is applied to the brain. TBI survivors encounter changes in cognition, sensorimotor function and
personality. Incidents caused by rapid change in acceleration, blast waves, crush or penetration by a
projectile. This could result in temporary or permanent impairment of cognitive, physical and
psychological functions. In TBI, the primary injury is an external force, that induces mechanical tissue
deformation, resulting in necrotic cell death, shearing and tearing of the vessels, neurons, glial and
initiation of secondary injury. A primary injury would basically result in the immediate rupture of the
brain tissue. A secondary injury involves ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In FPI models, a fluid pressure pulse is generated by a pendulum striking the piston of a reservoir of
fluid through a craniotomy. This is done either around the midline between bregma and lambda or
laterally over the parietal bone between bregma and lambda. FPI models replicate TBI without a skull
fracture. FPI models can be classified into two models parasagittal models (3.5 mm lateral to midline).
The lateral FPI (LFPI) model is widely used in animal models. a LPFI model creates a combination of
focal cortical contusion and diffuse sub cortical neuronal injury. LFPI produces neurobehavioral and
cognitive deficits (such as difficulties with movement and memory) that are commonly seen in
patients with TBI [50,51]. The Controlled cortical impact injury model (CCI) comprises of a
electromagnetic device to drive an impactor onto the target area, which is usually, dura. This replicates
the cortical tissue loss, acute subdural haematoma, axonal injury, concussion, blood brain barrier
(BBB) dysfunction and even coma [24,25,53,56,57]. An advantage of this model over other models
includes, ease in defining mechanical factors such as time, velocity, and depth of impact. The next
technique is Penetrating ballistic like brain injury (PBBI) which is a result of high energy transmission
of projectiles that leads to

Reckless Driving In Virginia
Fifteen Ways to Get a Reckless Driving Ticket in Virginia
Virginia takes reckless driving seriously. Drivers convicted are guilty of committing a class 1 criminal
charge, the same criminal classification as a DUI/DWI conviction. Criminal charges can stay on your
record for years, and can have a huge impact on your lifestyle. Professionals who need security
clearances for their occupation may lose those authorizations. Military or government contractors,
who deal with sensitive matters, may not be able to get required sanctions. Insurance costs
significantly raise. Unfortunately, many driving behaviors that are considered traffic violations in
other states, are categorized as reckless driving in Virginia. Following are fifteen ways to get charged
with reckless driving in Virginia.

Virginia deems it a crime to drive over 80 miles per hour (mph), or 20 mph over the speed limit. A
simple speeding ticket may be taken care of by paying a fine after you return home. Because reckless
driving tickets are criminal, they are much more problematic. You can receive a Reckless Diving
Speeding ticket even when you are not otherwise driving recklessly, such as weaving, or changing
lanes. If the speeding criteria is met, the charge is reckless driving.
The second most commonly given reckless driving ticket is Virginia Code § 46.2‐852 involving any
behavior of a driver that puts life, limb, or property in danger. General reckless driving citations may
be given to distracted drivers, those that tailgate, speeding violators, or those drivers expressing road
rage. In Virginia, these actions are considered criminal. Obviously, the general reckless driving ticket
will apply to a variety of situations, and is a catch all terms. Officers regularly assign this code in the

Fahrenheit 451 Dystopian Society Essay
Dystopian societies and modern day societies have various opinions on what should be valued. In the
novel Fahrenheit 451, Ray Bradbury shows a dystopian society that contrasts today s modern day
society. The concepts of knowledge and communication are shown throughout the book in different
ways than are seen in today s modern day society. Knowledge is one idea that has conflicting
meanings. The importance of knowledge is demonstrated in different ways between dystopian society
and modern day societies. The topic of lack of knowledge is presented through the nonsignificance of
books. When Montag is speaking with Beatty at the end of his history of being a fireman, Beatty says,
We must all be alike. Not everyone born free and equal, as the constitution says, but everyone made
equal... a book is a loaded gun in the house next door. Burn it. Take a shot from the weapons. Breach
men s mind (Bradbury 100). Since Montag and his society are not allowed to own book, it shows that
knowledge is not as enforced. Knowledge is a trait valued in modern day society. An example of how
education and knowledge is forced ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The idea of noncommunicating with one another is average through the conversation of Montag and
Mildred. When Mildred talks to Montag she realizes that Montag listens to her talk, when she says,
When I talk, you look at me... The others would never do that (Bradbury 21). Not communicating with
each other is a normal thing to do in their society because it is unusual to have meaningful
conversations. Communication is well cherished in modern day society. Sarah and her family were at
a restraunt and her brother as on his phone the whole time and not engaging with others, so his dad
took away his phone. Communication with others is a key detail, because communication helps people
learns. Communication is a different in modern day societies and dystopian

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Heat Exchanger
INTRODUCTION Heat exchanger is a tool where heat is exchanged starting with one liquid then onto
the next. Heat exchanger on board vessel are mostly coolers where a hot fluid is cooled via ocean
water (NurSahliza, 2015). A heat exchanger can be utilized for trading heat in the middle of fluid and
gas, gas and gas, fluid and fluid and so on. This equipment are also being used for the propulsion
plant, auxiliary power generation system, starting air system, fuel injection system, and refrigeration
system. For a simple example, the CPU under the fan, radiator of the car and the condenser of the
refrigerator is an example of the small heat exchanger (Suvo Stonecypher, Use of Heat Exchangers on

It is utilized for an intermediate fluid or solid store to hold heat, which is then moved to the opposite
side of the heat exchanger to be, discharged (Adiabatic wheel heat exchanger, 2015). Two examples of
adiabatic wheel are which consist of a large wheel with fine threads turning through the hot and cold
fluids and fluid heat exchangers (Adiabatic wheel heat exchanger, 2015).
4. Plate Fin Heat Exchanger
Plate fin heat exchangers have different geometries with a specific end goal to adjust for the high
warm resistance, especially if one of the liquid is gas (Plate Fin Heat Exchanger, n.d). Plate and fin
heat exchangers are typically made of aluminium alloys, which give high heat exchange effectiveness
(Plate Fin Heat Exchanger, 2015). The material empowers the framework to work at a lower
temperature difference and decrease the heaviness of the gear (Plate Fin Heat Exchanger, 2015). Plate
and fin heat exchangers are basically utilized for low temperature administrations, for example,
regular gas, air separation plants and transport commercial ventures such as engine and aircraft engine

serenity. This poem shows how nature changes your mood from sadness to a more relaxed and happy
mood. There is a linde full of personification in the poem that shows this, the sun gives me a much

Wartime Propaganda During World War II
Wartime propaganda has always been a beneficial tool for warring nations. Its ability to effectively
persuade, influence, and convince citizens even in a time of distress has made it a vital component of
many war engaged countries. The United States, for example, reaped great benefits by using war
propaganda in World War II. American propaganda helped dramatically increase the sale of war
bonds, rate of civic engagement, and public morale. Although American propaganda during World
War II can be considered as extremely biased and racist, it would have been more difficult to for the

central character against a social background, these poems probed complex human motives in a
variety of historical periods (Gale). Browning was super influential with his monologues during the

these monologues is that both women in the stories are innocent women. Both of the women were

The effective use of pathos is the crowning jewel used throughout Quindlen s article. The emotion
portrayed in each testimony gives light and drives the forces of the lasting effects of death and grief.
Mrs. Quindlen s specific examples and hard hitting emotional ties of her own experiences delivers a
fatal blow to the heart strings of the reader. Quindlen conveys, My great journalistic contribution to
my family is that I write obituaries. First my mother s, 22 years ago, listing her accomplishments: two
daughters, three sons. Then that of my father s second wife, dead of the same disease that killed his
first one. There is more than meets the eye with his statement, carried throughout the article. Anna
Quindlen makes use of repetition in two different occasions, further making her points stronger and
more intense. Repetition as seen in the article in multiple occasions is used describe the absolute
strength of grief. Quindlen uses and repeats the phrase more than three times in a row, each striking
harder than the one before. Mrs. Quindlen stating grief s power over us as stated, more than sex, more
than faith, even more than its usher death , this statement illustrates the power of grief. Repetition,
found in another section of the article, in this instance, one of the examples used to support the author
s position. The repetitious use of the word loss gives greater meaning to the loss of a loved one such as
a mother.

Roswell History
Over the years, the city of Roswell has experienced many minor and drastic changes both inside and
outside of school. With a new generation comes a new city. Things that were once landmarks of
Roswell are now faint memories. Many existed so many years ago that the underclassmen have no
recollection of the hidden gems in Roswell s past. As the senior class nears graduation, many are
making an extra effort to embrace their hometown. Let s take a trip down memory lane and remember
some of the greatest things Roswell ever had to offer. The weird hut in the Target parking lot: The
stand alone hut is the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of the famous Target parking lot.
Now, it s an emissions testing building, but, long ago, it used to be an ice cream place. That s right

Taking a Look at Euclid s Life Essay
Euclid was born around 365 B.C; his birthplace was in Alexandria, Egypt. Euclid died around 275
B.C., he died in Alexandria Egypt. His death was unspecified. The city of his birth place is a mystery.
Medieval authors often called him Euclid of Megara. They often confused him with an earlier
philosopher Eucleides of Megara, who was an associate of Socrates and Plato. When Euclid arrived at
the Academy School, Plato and the first generation of his students had already died. The Academy was
the outstanding mathematical school of the time. He traveled to Alexandria and was appointed to the
faculty of the Museum. Ptolemy Soter ruled Egypt from 323 to 283. Ptolemy was boyhood friend of

Euclid wrote one of the most famous books that is still used today. This was not the first time that
people wrote about mathematics. Many other people developed some of the theories he presented.
Euclid was the first person to write a complete review of all geometry. Euclid is also famous for his
theories on other parts of life. Today we understand Ancient Greek culture as classical. Euclid was in
Greek culture at the time as a scholar. Books 7, 8, and 9 introduce the reader to arithmetic and the
theory of rational numbers. Book 10 is the difficult subject of irrational numbers. The remaining three
books are about elementary solid geometry. It should be noted that the elements discuss several
problems, which then turns into algebra. But Euclid treats algebra in geometric terms. Euclid showed
development of a new proof for the Pythagorean Theorem, the theory that only one parallel to a line
can be drawn through any point. Modern mathematicians have maintained that no proof is possible;
Euclid may be excused for not providing one. Spherical geometry is represented by the Phainomena,
which is astronomical text based in part on a work of Autolycus of Pitane, a slightly older
contemporary. Euclid wrote on music, there is no other ancient work of science; it needs a little
revision to make it current. Other Hellenistic mathematicians such as, Hero, Pappus, Simplicius, and
most important Proclus helped out on the Elements just like Euclid. Euclid was also

Why The Grandmother In A Good Man Is Hard To Find
Similar to every character in any given work of literature, the grandmother from A Good Man is Hard
to Find, had several attributes, both pleasing and vexatious. Of all her many qualities, I greatly valued
her ability to consistently speak her mind, even in the face of danger. Never was she shy to give way
to her true emotions and allow those around her to view her perspective on the events occurring within
her life, a rarity in today s society. Additionally, it was made obvious how deeply she cared for her
family in her desperate attempt to persuade The Misfit to return to the good man she assumed he once
was and therefore permit the family to safely escape the dangerous predicament. Likewise, the
grandmother was a Christian woman that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Case Study On Perfumes
Company s Culture
Organization culture is one of the most essential factor that decide the success or failure of a company.
Currently customers demands, and taste are continuously changing thus, a strong organizational
culture is needed to cope with those changes. EMPER perfumes culture can be divided into multiple
parts which are:
Attention to Detail EMPER perfumes can be considered a company that focuses a lot on details. That
is because of their non stop research to find new perfume designs and produce them at the highest
quality
Outcome or process Orientation process oriented culture can be found within the medium to high
levels of the organization due to them believing that teamwork is the best way to innovate. On the
other hand EMPER perfumes can also be a process oriented company, because low level staff have to
follow the rules that have been specified to them by the manager in charge thus they experience
limited flexibility.

Why Should We Prevent Hackers From Infiltrating A Computer...
Cybersecurity is defined by the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Careers and Studies (NICCS) as
being The activity or process, ability or capability, or state whereby information and communications
systems and the information contained therein are protected from and/or defended against damage,
unauthorized use or modification, or exploitation (Department of Homeland Security, 2015).
Cyberjacking an aircraft has become the most threatening issue within the realm of cybersecurity.
Cyberjacking an aircraft opposes a threat to the safety and well being of the aircraft passengers and the
computer system that controls and operates the aircraft. Within the past three there has been several
incidents where aircrafts have disappeared and vanished under the radar. This has led researchers and
federal aviation authorities to believe that each aircraft was cyberjacked and the computer system was
hacked and manipulated. As result, there is ongoing research being conducted to determine how to
prevent hackers from infiltrating a computer systems on aircraft. There are two variables being tested
to determine the various entry points a potential cyber hijacker has to enter the computer system that
controls an aircraft. The two variables are: Can an aircraft be cyberjacked before boarding? Can on
board computer systems be cyberjacked from a passenger seat on an aircraft by using USB ports and
Wi Fi system?

Linens n Things decision to build centralized warehouses that seemed consistent with a cost

Machiavelli as a Humanist
A humanist is defined as one who is concerned with the interests and welfare of humans. Niccolo
Machiavelli can be thought of as a humanist. Although opinions on this differ greatly depending on
whom you speak with. Machiavelli s life consists of so many examples and lessons that he has learned
throughout his life. Through my paper, I intend to examine his perception of morality based on his
political writings and life experiences. Niccolo Machiavelli was born on May 3, 1469 and died in
1527. Although we do not know much about his early life, we know that he was educated according to
the humanist ideals of the Renaissance. He was trained at an early age by a latin teacher named Paolo

He used the term virtu in his book The Art of War which is a dialogue on military affairs. It describes
the great ability of a general who is able to adapt to various battlefield conditions as they present
themselves. It is said that the most vilified of political thinkers is also the one of whom it has been said
that he concentrated all his real and supreme values in what he called virtu . 6 What he meant by this
was that a prince would have to develop a different psychology than what he is used to. The new
prince is prepared to vary his conduct as the winds of fortune and changing circumstances constrain
him and not deviate from the right conduct if possible, but be should be capable of entering upon a
path of wrong doing when it becomes necessary . 7 Some ninety years ago Villari said that
Machiavelli always use the word virtue in the sense of courage and energy both for good and evil. To
Christian virtue in its more general meaning, he rather applied the term goodness, and felt much less
admiration for it than for the pagan virtue that was always fruitful of glory. 2 Although the political
life of Niccolo Machiavelli is quite interesting when analyzing his views on government and religion,
his personal life and experiences were equally a representation of him as a humanist. He was
described by some as never offensive and possessing a genuine understanding of human weakness.

Introduction
I will be evaluating the role of multi agency working, its strengths and weaknesses and how it is used
to reduce the risk of abuse imposed on adults; I will also be referring to legal frameworks, regulations,
working strategies and procedures.
Strengths of Multi agency working
Multi agency working is beneficial for all service users such as children, young people, adults and

Multi Agency working briefly means different agencies working together to provide necessary care for
one specific individual. Rather than the organisations working separately providing separate services
without any communication, multi agency working encourages service providers to work together
through sharing information and coordination of an approach whereby the individual needs are in the
centre. This is the first step to PCC(Person Centred Care)
For multi agency working to be successful, good communication from all the organisations and care
providers is very important with understanding of the responsibilities for each agency. It also requires
all agencies involved to work to a satisfactory level.
Another benefit of multi Agency working would be that individuals are encouraged to be involved in
their care. Health and social care services are supposed to make individuals feel more confident in
talking about their worries, fears and potential abuse. Not just this but also having quality relationships
with service providers helps care receivers to develop a higher self esteem, confidence and strength to
stop encouraging and accepting the abusive situations that may occur are normal or feel that they
deserve less treatment.
Multi Agency working is also a way of enabling better information sharing and communication via
emails and written records such as in a care home whereby there will be a care log which enables each
carer coming on the shift to be

Nurse As An Ideal Nurse
There must be a professional relationship between nurses and patients which must encompass
trustworthiness, empathy and cooperation among them. According to (Severinsson, 2003), the goal of
ideal nurse can be achieved by the nurses by developing professional relationship with the care
receivers. In achieving this model the nurses had to fulfill the health related demands of patients
related to biological and psychosocial aspects of health. Patients have high expectation from the
nurses, it has been considered as a tool of early treatment and recovery of the patients when the nurses
performed ideal nursing. The cooperative attitude of nurses towards their patients makes them feel
comfortable and get recovered in a short time (AM., 1998). Many women joining nursing as a

Apocalypse Now By Francis Ford Coppola
In Francis Ford Coppola s, Apocalypse Now (1979), you follow the journey of Captain Benjamin L.
Willard, as he makes his way up the Nung River on a US Navy patrol boat in Vietnam to assassinate
Colonel Walter Kurtz. Coppola s film reflects the Vietnam war and all the horrors seen and unseen
associated with it. Specifically, the dissent into madness and the dehumanizing effects of war. Coppola
uses the river to symbolize this dissent into madness. The further up the river the crew got, the more
dehumanized they became. Even Coppola s choice of title Apocalypse Now screams what this movie
is about. This symbolism accompanied by perfectly paired music and camera angles that often cast
shadows strongly show the madness of war. Coppola expresses the decline into insanity in stages. In
this first stage, there is still have plenty of light and very few shadows. This stage represents the
dehumanization of the enemy and it is where we first meet Lt. Colonel Bill Kilgore. Coppola perfectly
pairs the song Ride of The Valkyries with a scene of Kilgore flying in with helicopters and tearing up
a village. As the song plays, we can see an uneven match between the Americans and the natives. Just
like a Valkyrie, Kilgore is seen as a decider of who lives and who dies. This is further enforced by the
fact that Kilgore is a part of the Air Calvary. A division of the Army that was once known to ride
around on horses, implying that Lt. Colonel Bill Kilgore is one of the four horsemen of

The Old Testament
The Old Testament is one of the few religious books that over the centuries has not changed and been
a central tool to the Christian. But what is it about? What are the fundamental teachings this amazing
story explains. Well like any good story it is about unlikely heroes, kings, seers, nations rising up and
falling. But though all the different turns it makes there is one key theme that can be seen throughout.
Notably, it is that despite our many sins God s desires a personal relationship with his people.
So how did it all begin? Well as it reads God created the heavens and the earth. He created every
living thing that is in the universe and he created man, male and female did he create them. And he
placed Adam and Eve in a garden and gave them everything that they needed only stimulating that
they could not eat from the tree in the center of the garden, the tree of good and evil. Unfortunately,
they were tempted and gave into there human desires. This is how sin came into the world making
everything chaotic and apart from what it was created to be. Now Adam and Eve had numerous
descendants but many were evil and there was only one who was righteous in the sight of the Lord,
Noah. Hence, God gave directions to Noah concerning the construction of a large boat, otherwise
known as an Ark. Into this craft would go Noah and his family and two of every animal which moved
upon the face of the earth to escape the great flood that would sweep across the earth. The storm lasted

Such a huge mission required selection of the best team. The most skilled and experienced advisors,

Types Of Conditioning, Classical And Operant
Learning theories are normally divided into paradigms, these paradigms symbolise the different views
in learning. They consist of; behaviourism, cognitivism, constructivism, humanism and play.
Behaviourism is the theory that human and animal behaviour can be explained in terms of
conditioning, without appeal to thoughts and feelings (Oxford dictionaries) a behaviourist believes
that all learners start with a clean slate and that we are conditioned. Conditioning happens when we
interact with the environment and how the environment stimulates us dictates our actions. There are
two types of conditioning, classical and operant. Theorist Ivan Pavlov is associated with classical
conditioning; Pavlov was born September 1849 in Rayazan Russia and died February 1936. He
studied at the University of St Petersburg and received a degree in the Candidate of Natural Sciences
in 1875. His theory came about through his study of dogs, he noticed that every time he entered the
room in his white lab coat his dog would salivate even if he didn t have any food, the dog didn t learn
to salivate it was a reflex, it is hard wired into the dog; an unconditioned response. He linked this to
the white lab coat, the dogs had learned they would receive food. He wanted to take this further so he
then introduced a bell, this was a neutral stimulus, every time he gave the dogs food he would ring the
bell, after repeating this action a few times he then rang the bell on its own and the effect was the

  • 5. General Electric s Corporate Social Responsability I chose to look into General Electric for this project because they are an energy supplier and multi national company. Energy providers have a reputation as a money hungry companies that care about the bottom line more than people and the planet. It is easy for a person to assume that a corporation of GE s size, money would be its only concern. What I learned was that GE has a public image problem more than a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) problem. Lean manufacturing is a way to eliminate waste and maximize customer value. The school philosophy is to believe that the students need to be engaged to be deeply successful in their learning. They believe that the students will be successful by persisting studying, overcoming obstacles, and delighting in accomplishing their work. I began to be a volunteer to read mandarin stories to students in mandarin grades three and four in Dovercourt School in Oct 14 and Oct 16. On the one hand, I believe that volunteering activity can create my credibility, build self confidence, develop self awareness, and share the vision. On the other hand, the motivation behind volunteer activity will benefit for those students who need help improve their mandarin knowledge. I How was this activity chosen? When I picked the volunteer project, I have been the volunteer in my son s school for several years. I like to be a volunteer to participate the activity with kids since they are so creative and lovely. Furthermore, the most important point is that I would like to observe my son s development closely. First, I contacted my son s Chinese teacher Ms. Lennon, who is very strict and responsible, and tell her my requirement. She was very supported my decision and let me to read stories to her students. LFPI produces neurobehavioral and cognitive deficits (such as difficulties with movement and memory) that are commonly seen in patients with TBI [50,51]. The Controlled cortical impact injury model (CCI) comprises of a electromagnetic device to drive an impactor onto the target area, which is usually, dura. This replicates the cortical tissue loss, acute subdural haematoma, axonal injury, concussion, blood brain barrier (BBB) dysfunction and even coma [24,25,53,56,57]. An advantage of this model over other models includes, ease in defining mechanical factors such as time, velocity, and depth of impact. The next technique is Penetrating ballistic like brain injury (PBBI) which is a result of high energy transmission of projectiles that leads to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The concepts of knowledge and communication are shown throughout the book in different ways than are seen in today s modern day society. Knowledge is one idea that has conflicting meanings. The importance of knowledge is demonstrated in different ways between dystopian society and modern day societies. The topic of lack of knowledge is presented through the nonsignificance of books. Through my paper, I intend to examine his perception of morality based on his political writings and life experiences. Niccolo Machiavelli was born on May 3, 1469 and died in 1527. Although we do not know much about his early life, we know that he was educated according to the humanist ideals of the Renaissance. He was trained at an early age by a latin teacher named Paolo da Ronciglione. He spent his youth in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He used the term virtu in his book The Art of War which is a dialogue on military affairs. It describes the great ability of a general who is able to adapt to various battlefield conditions as they present themselves. It is said that the most vilified of political thinkers is also the one of whom it has been said that he concentrated all his real and supreme values in what he called virtu . 6 What he meant by this was that a prince would have to develop a different psychology than what he is used to. The new prince is prepared to vary his conduct as the winds of fortune and changing circumstances constrain him and not deviate from the right conduct if possible, but be should be capable of entering upon a path of wrong doing when it becomes necessary . 7 Some ninety years ago Villari said that Machiavelli always use the word virtue in the sense of courage and energy both for good and evil. To Christian virtue in its more general meaning, he rather applied the term goodness, and felt much less admiration for it than for the pagan virtue that was always fruitful of glory. 2 Although the political life of Niccolo Machiavelli is quite interesting when analyzing his views on government and religion, his personal life and experiences were equally a representation of him as a humanist. He was described by some as never offensive and possessing a genuine understanding of human weakness. Niccolo formed a quite ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Multi Agency working briefly means different agencies working together to provide necessary care for one specific individual. Rather than the organisations working separately providing separate services without any communication, multi agency working encourages service providers to work together through sharing information and coordination of an approach whereby the individual needs are in the centre. This is the first step to PCC(Person Centred Care) For multi agency working to be successful, good communication from all the organisations and care providers is very important with understanding of the responsibilities for each agency. It also requires all agencies involved to work to a satisfactory level. Another benefit of multi Agency working would be that individuals are encouraged to be involved in their care. Health and social care services are supposed to make individuals feel more confident in talking about their worries, fears and potential abuse. Not just this but also having quality relationships with service providers helps care receivers to develop a higher self esteem, confidence and strength to stop encouraging and accepting the abusive situations that may occur are normal or feel that they deserve less treatment. Multi Agency working is also a way of enabling better information sharing and communication via emails and written records such as in a care home whereby there will be a care log which enables each carer coming on the shift to be ... • 33. Apocalypse Now By Francis Ford Coppola In Francis Ford Coppola s, Apocalypse Now (1979), you follow the journey of Captain Benjamin L. Willard, as he makes his way up the Nung River on a US Navy patrol boat in Vietnam to assassinate Colonel Walter Kurtz. Coppola s film reflects the Vietnam war and all the horrors seen and unseen associated with it. Specifically, the dissent into madness and the dehumanizing effects of war. Coppola uses the river to symbolize this dissent into madness. The further up the river the crew got, the more dehumanized they became. Even Coppola s choice of title Apocalypse Now screams what this movie is about. This symbolism accompanied by perfectly paired music and camera angles that often cast shadows strongly show the madness of war. Coppola expresses the decline into insanity in stages. In this first stage, there is still have plenty of light and very few shadows. This stage represents the dehumanization of the enemy and it is where we first meet Lt. Colonel Bill Kilgore. Coppola perfectly pairs the song Ride of The Valkyries with a scene of Kilgore flying in with helicopters and tearing up a village. As the song plays, we can see an uneven match between the Americans and the natives. Just like a Valkyrie, Kilgore is seen as a decider of who lives and who dies. This is further enforced by the fact that Kilgore is a part of the Air Calvary. A division of the Army that was once known to ride around on horses, implying that Lt. Colonel Bill Kilgore is one of the four horsemen of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. The Old Testament The Old Testament is one of the few religious books that over the centuries has not changed and been a central tool to the Christian. But what is it about? What are the fundamental teachings this amazing story explains. Well like any good story it is about unlikely heroes, kings, seers, nations rising up and falling. But though all the different turns it makes there is one key theme that can be seen throughout. Notably, it is that despite our many sins God s desires a personal relationship with his people. So how did it all begin? Well as it reads God created the heavens and the earth. He created every living thing that is in the universe and he created man, male and female did he create them. And he placed Adam and Eve in a garden and gave them everything that they needed only stimulating that they could not eat from the tree in the center of the garden, the tree of good and evil. Unfortunately, they were tempted and gave into there human desires. This is how sin came into the world making everything chaotic and apart from what it was created to be. Now Adam and Eve had numerous descendants but many were evil and there was only one who was righteous in the sight of the Lord, Noah. Hence, God gave directions to Noah concerning the construction of a large boat, otherwise known as an Ark. Into this craft would go Noah and his family and two of every animal which moved upon the face of the earth to escape the great flood that would sweep across the earth. The storm lasted ... • 36. Types Of Conditioning, Classical And Operant Learning theories are normally divided into paradigms, these paradigms symbolise the different views in learning. They consist of; behaviourism, cognitivism, constructivism, humanism and play. Behaviourism is the theory that human and animal behaviour can be explained in terms of conditioning, without appeal to thoughts and feelings (Oxford dictionaries) a behaviourist believes that all learners start with a clean slate and that we are conditioned. Conditioning happens when we interact with the environment and how the environment stimulates us dictates our actions. There are two types of conditioning, classical and operant. Theorist Ivan Pavlov is associated with classical conditioning; Pavlov was born September 1849 in Rayazan Russia and died February 1936. He studied at the University of St Petersburg and received a degree in the Candidate of Natural Sciences in 1875. His theory came about through his study of dogs, he noticed that every time he entered the room in his white lab coat his dog would salivate even if he didn t have any food, the dog didn t learn to salivate it was a reflex, it is hard wired into the dog; an unconditioned response. He linked this to the white lab coat, the dogs had learned they would receive food. He wanted to take this further so he then introduced a bell, this was a neutral stimulus, every time he gave the dogs food he would ring the bell, after repeating this action a few times he then rang the bell on its own and the effect was the ...
