FRONT PAGE 1
The reader found this masthead very interesting
because it was the first thing they saw. One person
said that they liked the symbol of the heart for the word
love. It links very well.
One person said that they liked how the word was
slanted and gave it an edgier look accompanied with
the picture.
The fact that this is ‘pop star approved’ appealed a lot
to the target audience because they like to follow
trends that celebrities are doing.
FRONT PAGE 2
Most of my target
audience said that Cher
looked flawless in this
image, and it would make
them want to buy the
magazine.
Having a bigger number attracted more of my target audience as they
said that it intrigued them to try and find out what the ‘106’ was for.
Ashton from JLS is a very popular band member. Females of the same
age of my target audience are obsessed over him, so the people that I
asked said this would appeal more to them rather than having on of
the other members faces.
The word ‘REAL’ is in a different colour, font and size which attracts
more of my target audience. They said that it’s interesting to see what
Cher wants to say.
The word ‘SIZZLING’ attracted more of my target audience and they also
said that it adds more effect because they are describing the people in
the posters as sizzling, implying that they are good looking.
FRONT PAGE 3
My target audience said
that they liked the
contrast of the blue
background and white
and purple font.
Again, the people I asked said that her make up looked really good and
they would want to know all her beauty secrets, therefore drawing
them in to buying the magazine.
This is a relatable article and links to Maslow’s Theory of Belonging. My
target audience said that this would make them feel as though they
weren’t alone if they did have confidence issues, just like Cher says
she had on the main article.
‘AMAZEBALLS’ is a slang type of word used by many teenagers now-a-
days. As it is a popular word, my target audience are most likely to
know what it means and it sort of a funny word.
WHICH MAGAZINE ARE YOU MOST LIKELY
TO BUY BASED ON THE FRONT COVERS?
I asked 20 people who were included in my target audience which magazine they are most likely to buy out of these
three. When looking at the results, number 3 was the most popular. I plan to use this magazine cover for further
research to help me create a better looking front page.

CONTENTS PAGE 1
My target
audience said that
they liked how the
title wasn’t too
formal.
Having the magazine cover on the contents page proved helpful to
the people I asked because they said they saw articles on the cover
that they wanted to read, and having it on the contents page let
them directly find that specific article.
Many girls in my target audience are most likely to adore One
Direction. They mere sight of one of their faces will make them want
to buy the magazine or read that article. I was told that this stood
out for them the most because he is a well known band member
and it would interest them a lot.
CONTENTS PAGE 2
The title for the contents page is ‘ WE LOVE THIS…’ and my target
audience said they really liked this because it linked to the name of
the magazine and wasn’t too formal.
One person circled this face because it’s not a natural or normal
look you would expect to see in a magazine. They said it made that
certain person seem more fun and as though they have a funny
side.
Justin Bieber has many fans, so again the mention of his name or
the sight of his face would send fans wild. He has his tongue stuck
out, which again shows his funnier side.
This section shows previews of all the posters this reader will get.
My target audience said that this would interest them a lot because
they are free and they can have their favourite celebrities hanging
up on their walls.
WHICH CONTENTS PAGE DO YOU PREFER?
I asked my target audience which contents
page that they prefer so that I can analyse this
as well to understand what to put on my own
contents page.
Out of the 20 votes, 8 people said the one to the
right and 12 people said the one to the left.
When I asked why, they said that the ‘WE LOVE
POP’ one looked more sophisticated and more
appealing to them.
DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD 1The free poster seemed like a good idea to my
target audience because if you are a fan of Olly
Murs, then you can have him on your wall.
They also told me that they liked the pun of
‘MERRY CHRISTMURS’ because it linked in with
the singers name and created humour.
A few people said that they liked that there was
a quote from the interview that they could
quickly read. It adds humour and more fun to
the article.
DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD 2The image of Justin Bieber is very posed and
uses direct address. My target audience said
that they liked the fact he was looking straight
at you because it engaged you more with the
article/image.
The photo of Selena and Justin resembled
maybe a bit of gossip and that interested the
people I asked quite a lot.
I was given the advice that interview questions
such as things about their personal lives was
quite good, because people mainly buy
magazine to hear things about these
people/celebrities.
