have said herself, suggests that the article is mainly
based on her rebellious life
Picture- her holding a camera- the camera is facing the
reader suggesting she would be taking a photo of the
reader- Maslow’s theory of belonging, up to date
clothing, showing that she is a modern artist
“forget everything you think you know about Cher
Lloyd... … and read this interview now!”- suggests Cher
is not exactly who or what you think she is
Questions layout- three columns with one picture in the middle column, quite easy to read for the reader
“Cover Story”- in a pink puff at the very top of the page, tells the reader that this DPS is the story that featured as
the main article on the front cover- creates synergy throughout the magazine

4. “Workout wonders”- the member of the band The
Wanted are all holding gym equipment- creates synergy
between words and pictures, also alliteration and could
link the name of the band beginning with W
Picture- all the band holding gym equipment- shows
them as strong and good looking- appealing to teenage
girls
“ Who’s top of the PE class? And who’s got a sick note
from their mum? We joined The Wanted at the gym to
find out”- suggests the article is all about the boys health
and how often they go to the gym
Question layout- in columns, has a small picture of one of
the members showing off his torso- also appealing to
teenage girls
Quotes around edge of interview- taken from their answers, most important or memorable aspects of the interview,
compliment the other article colours

5. One comparison is the image used
for each article. Both images
represent something about that
artist/s. Cher is very quirky, her
fashion/ clothes showing that, and
the camera shows that she is very
up to date and modern. The
Wanted are all about their personal
appearance showing them as quite
vein, but still seem like nice guys.
Both images are posed and used
direct address. The plain white
background suggest that both
shots were taken in a studio
specifically made for the
interviews/articles.

6. Both articles contain mini pictures of
the stars. The brings more to the article
and creates something else for the
readers to look at. Both images also
have a small caption beneath them
giving information about who the
image is of, when it was taken and
where they were or what they were
doing.

7. Both articles have titles. The colours in the titles create a colour scheme
for the rest of the pages and compliment all the other colours. Most
double spread pages are featured on the contents or front page which
creates synergy. They both relate to the interview and again show
something personal about them. Cher Lloyd is trying to show that she
isn’t as rebellious as she seems, and The Wanted again care a lot about
how they look.
