DEMOGRAPHIC
A-Upper middle class
High managerial job roles,
professionals with some
authority within, and often
outside the workplace.
B-Middle class
Managerial job roles,
professionals with
little authority, only in
the workplace.
Demographic audience profiles
define groups based on things like
occupation, income and age.
Because of the age of this
demographic, there is a high
chance that the audience are
students or are earning a low
income. Therefore cheaper
products and discounted
items are likely to appeal to
them. Listening to their
favourite songs via the radio
is more likely than them
paying for music streaming.
This target audience is
expected to be very update to
date with current affairs aswell
as cultural and social news.
Listening to the radio is a
good way for efficient news
finding.
Within this generation, social media is a
big part of lives and is the main source
of entertainment and information.
3. AUDIENCE PROFILE
• The brief states that I am creating an opening sequence that would fit into radio
1's scheduling with a target audience of 16-25 year olds. It doesn’t really target a
particular gender but more includes all kinds of young people, sharing a variety of
music genres.
• The audience should be interested in up to date news and music and be open to
listen to a range of music genres, not just from the charts.
