The language used in the magazine is intended to engage and connect with this target demographic.
1. Q2
How does your media product
represent particular social groups?
2. MY REPRESENTATION
My music magazine represents a social group
from different ethnicity backgrounds that are
interested in R&B. My magazine features top
stores including new world wide tours . I also
ensured that my magazine had features that
R&B listeners and followers can relate to in order
to aspire and recognise this as a trend
3. My product represents a particular social group
by the clothing worn my model and the musical
props that were used to symbolise R&B. The
clothing was a black hat for a cool look with a
heart on it to symbolise passion and love for
music and a simple red jumper. The props used
were headphones, microphone, music stand and a
guitar.
4. GENDER
My music magazine is aimed to appeal and
attract 17-23 year old males and females. This is
because the majority of people that listen to R&B
fall within this age band.
The female target audience would;
Enjoy keeping up with the latest celebrity gossip
Socialising with friends
Finding out new tour dates
The male target audience would;
Enjoy getting the new upcoming tracks
Celebrity gossip
5. JICNARS SCALE
On the jicnars scale my target audience would
range from C2 to E. This is because C2 are know
to be ‘skilled manual workers’. D: are know to be
semi and unskilled manual workers. E: are
known for being the lowest grade workers.
I made my magazine a suitable price for the age
range knowing that my target audience is from
17-23 year olds. Not all 17 year olds will have a
job as they are not entitled to the income of an
working student. For those that do part-time or
low paid jobs will be able to afford the magazine
due to the low cost.
6. LANGUAGE USED
In my music magazine I have used particular
language to engage my target audience allowing
them to connect with the magazine letting them
set aside their everyday life.
The mode of address used creates a bridge
between my target audience by adding a sense of
communication with the audience and social
group of R&B followers
