1. Sundara Karma
The Sundara Karma album is very simplistic. The album front
cover star which looks to be the lead singer of the Sundara
Karma - Oscar Lulu. I feel that both front covers are really
effective and well put together because of their unique nature.
The first is simply a close up of a shirtless man facing away (His
identity is concealed so the viewer can only make presumptions
to who it is)
The second is more abstract but again follows the same unique
nature as the first did. The front cover is harder to depict
because it isn’t as obvious to the which part of the body is being
shown. I really like both of these album front covers and the
way that they are designed.
The entire album is in a monochrome theme excluding the band
name which is in a bold, bright, pastel font. The colour contrast
is brilliantly done so that the band name is centre focus to the
viewer – This bold font is consistent for both album front covers
however the colour is different and I expect that if Sundara
Karma were to make another album it would be yet another
colour and a different part of the body but the album front
cover would still be in the exact same theme to the other album
covers.
Sundara Karma have even continued the colour palate on to the
disk (In this scenario, the vinyl record) I really like the disk
design as its vibrant and attractive which is a contras to the
majority dull colour pallet of the front cover.

Both albums also feature
Sundara Karmas logo,
emphasizing who the album
was created by.
2. Sundara Karma
Similarly to the Sundara Karma front cover, the back cover is very simplistic
and again the consistent monochrome colour palate has continued
throughout the entire digipak, however, unlike the front cover, the back
cover doesn’t involve any font that has been edited with a colour instead it
remains white. All the font has been centrally aligned and the barcode is a
reasonable size that has been aligned landscape and central, just above the
main body of text.
Here are some examples of other Sundara
Karma digipak front covers. All three covers
have very different styles and have no
consistent colour palate or theme running
through any of them like some bands/ artists
have incorporated. What I find especially
unusual is that the font style also differs
between the digipacs. However each album
cover features the bands logo. When I create
my own digipak I would want to use a font
that would be consistent if I were to make
another digipak.
3. Here are some examples of magazine advertisements
for the band, Sundara Karma. The advertisements act
to emphasize the band’s commercialised identity that
they have developed. The methods of advertisements
inform viewers/ fans regarding concerts. Sundara
Karma are classified as an indie/ alternative band and
perhaps a band that hasn’t reached its peak of the
music video industry which is especially possible as the
bands YouTube subscribers are at a reasonably low
amount of 9,642 subscribers.
