2. This CD advert of Lara Del Rey’s album ‘Born To Die’ is quite
basic and is basically a copy of the album with added
information such and release dates at the bottom. The
advert includes the same font style throughout and also
carries on, to her other albums indicating a motif. Lana is
made go be looking slightly down at the camera to make
her superior to others and show her strong, serious side
shown through the facial expressions and stance. Also the
photo of her takes up most of the advert and important
features such as her face and makeup stand out effectively.
Its also important to notice that the writing on the page is
out of the way in order for the audience to see her better
and for her to stand out more. The information on the
advert includes the release dates of the album and
information on exclusive tracks that will also feature on the
CD.
In the left corner of the advert there is a website address to
the Amazon, informing the audience that they can purchase
their copy from the website as well as in stores. Another
website address is also added in the middle of the page
which is to the website of Lana Del Rey, another place
where the album can be purchased and more information
about her music, tours an albums can be found.
the colour scheme of the advert matches well all together
and all the colour compliment each other. There is only
mainly 2 colours that are on show as the photograph was
taken outside with a blue sky, but hints of brown are also
present from the fence behind the artist. However, as Lana
wears a white blouse the background matches well to the
photo as the sky includes traces of white.
3. Throughout the Fall Out Boy’s album advert, a dark colour
scheme is used to present the information to the audience.
AS the illustration is of skeletons, it would be ideal to link
the dark colours with this type of picture as its quite gothic
and eerie. Again the illustration also represents the album
name ‘Believers Never Die’. Making a direct link from these
two aspects effective as it gains more attention from the
audience and encourages them to take another look and
purchase the album. The picture is of skeletons holding one
another, which could imply that they are still alive even after
death, supporting the album name. as there is an illustration
on the advert instead of a picture of the band, it creates a
more ambiguous effect about the musicians as we are un
aware of there appearance which creates the audience to
become intrigued. Due to the colours of the advert being
dark, it allows the information to stand out more as the
writing is white which instantly becomes more noticeable.
There is a relatively large amount of writing compared to the
Lana Del Rey advert, however they follow different music
genres and presentation styles. At the top of the page, the
name of the band are placed and underneath is the album
name, in slightly smaller writing. The same font and colour is
carried on through out the avert to keep an organized, neat
lay out. The whole album name is ‘Believers Never Die The
Greatest Hits’, however the last part of the name is in bigger
and bolder writing to inform the audience that this album is
better than before with brand new, original songs. Nearer to
the bottom of the advert the release ate is also in bold along
with the name of a rock music magazine, informing the
audience where they can find more about the band and
their new album.
More information is also available at the bottom in smaller
font which informs the audience about more deluxe songs
that will feature on the new album, along with their
newest songs. We are also told that exclusive footage on
CD and DVD is also available.
4. Throughout the Kings Of Leon album advert, minimum text is
used and the picture fills up most of the page. At the top of
the advert there is the name of the band in big, bold writing in
order fore it to stand out so the audience are aware of who
and what the advert is for. Further down the page in the same
font and size is the name od the album again in bold. The only
difference between the two names is the colour. A yellow is
used to make the advert more colourful as it uses minimal
colour throughout. Between each word, an underscore is used
to replace the spaces to create a more unique and differential
effect. At the very bottom of the page there is smaller text
that informs the audience some of the songs that the new
album includes. Just below in larger, red writing it states that
the album is ‘out now’ informing us that we are able to now
purchase this brand new album. The text is all presented to be
in capital letters to stand out more and become more eye
catching. It also insinuates that the text on the advert is
important, along with the different colours they are presented
in. the choice of coloured text against the dark picture
compliment each other well as they are able to stand out
more and become more visible to the audience, we are also
able to tell which part of the information is made to look the
most important.
At the very bottom of the page is a website address for a place
online where the album is available to purchase over the
internet; supplying more options than just over the counter.
The photo on the album advert is set out into four sections.
Originally there was a photo of one of the band members, and
by editing a photo of an eagle was put over the top to create a
disorientated look. The purpose of the photo to make it look
like the artists is part eagle.
