The document provides an analysis of the digipak for McFly's album "Memory Lane". The front cover has a simple watercolor drawing of the band brought together closely, representing the band and fans reuniting after years apart. Inside, the booklet contains never-before-seen pictures of the band throughout their career overlaid with lyrics. It also includes information about each song on the album and a thank you letter from the band to their fans, giving the digipak a personal touch.
2. Front cover
The front cover of the digipak is rather simplistic. The background is a plain
sand like colour. However it also looks like a canvas as the image of the band
is drawn in water colour. The band are drawn very close together and this
could symbolise the bringing together off the band after a few years break, and
also the bringing together of the band fans.
The water colours can also refer back to the bands first album which was a
very brightly coloured album. Also the bands first song was called ‘Five colours
in her hair’ and there are around five different colours on the drawing of the
band.
The masthead is very simplistic as its black with a simple font. It has a small
star on the Y. It works well with threat of the front cover.
The last part of the front cover tells the name of the album. Since the name of
the album is called memory lane it has been made to look like a street sign.
3. Background
The background once again has the canvas look to it.
There is also the song titles on the back as well.
The titles are written in a black front and once again
the font is simplistic like the masthead on the front
cover
The band also have two pictures from one of their
videos called love is easy and these pictures are once
again seen in the booklet that comes inside the
Digipak.
4. Inside- Right Side
The inside of the Digipak has the same
background colour throughout the whole thing.
The right compartment holds the CD. The actual
Cd is very simplistic and copies the front cover
with the McFly titles and the sign post which says
the name of the album. The whole idea of the
digpack being simplistic can link to the band
growing up and the fans growing up as well.

shot as I lost my own CD)
6. The Booklet
The Front cover of the booklet has the same design as the front cover of the Digipak. The back cover
has one image of the band from a the shoot of the music video ‘Love is Easy’.
The booklet is one the post important parts of the Digipak. In McFly: Memory Lane the booklet consists
off different pictures of the band throughout their careers. The pictures are never seen before images so
that is a nice touch for fans who have followed the band for their whole career. Over the images there
are speech bubbles that have lyrics from the bands best selling songs.
Half the Digipak consists primarily of pictures of the band. However the last few pages (slide before) has
information about all of the songs on the Cd. This information says who wrote the song, and the lyrics to
each of the songs and the titles to the songs. The last page is a thank you letter from the band to the
fans.
The thank you letter give the Digipak a personal touch and it shows how much the band value the
support and love from the fans/fan base.
