Working Title:
Girl Band CD cover, Magazine and Merchandise.
Product’s Purpose:
The products purpose is for entertainment as it brings enjoyment to the audience and the products
I have picked will entertain a variety of different people.
Genre:
The genre of my project is pop as from my research. In my opinion I think that this is the most
popular genre and it will be popular for my audience. This will be applied by the style of my
products as they will be trendy and suited best for my audience as it will be the genre they will be
most interested in. It is also the trend I am most interested in, so it makes it easier for me to create
and make look effective and realistic.
Content
My product is a pop girl band, I like listening to music so I think that I am able to relate most to this
product as it is something I enjoy. I will include a CD cover, a Magazine article and a T-shirt design
I think creating these products I am able to cover a range of different audiences and create interest
with different aspects for a band and there will be something that someone is interested in making
the project exciting for the audience.
Research & Planning
I will use planning and research throughout my project as I think that this part helps to get ideas for
the products and different things you could include on your products to make them realistic. With
research and planning you can find a layout for your products and you can see what looks good
and what doesn’t. I can apply this throughout my products as it can help to look at existing
products to compare with mine to see if they will match my target audience and helps me to come
up with a final decision on how my products will look and entertain my audience.
I am going to use my planning and experiments for my final ideas as the layouts I have used on
my experiments are how I would like to do mine. There is also some parts of my planning that I
would change so this has also had an influence as I could make it better and add something
different. The research also has an influence as I have used existing products and got ideas from
them to use on my product and got an idea of the different themes for my different products which I
will include in my final product.
Audience:
My primary target audience is ages 13-30 as I think that they will enjoy my products and there is a
product that will suit anyone in this age range. This wide age range will help with entertainment on
all my products as different ages will enjoy different products, but they are all able to suit all my
audience. My secondary target audience is 30-40 as I think the products I have produced will suit
this age range as there is products that they can enjoy. I came to this final decision by having an
older secondary audience as I think that some of products will appeal to an older audience e.g. CD
The primary gender I have chosen for my project is female as I think they are able to relate most to
the band with them being female. With the band being a Girl band, I think it will appeal more to
females as they are able to relate to them more and will be more interested. The secondary
gender that will fit with my project is male as I think they will enjoy the genre of the band and they
will also enjoy and get involved with the products. Males can also relate to the band through the
music and be entertained by the band as they could be interested in them.
I think the psychographics for the project is Balanced as it is a mixture of 2 different types of
psychographics helping it to cover a range of different interests for different products. I came to
this decision as having the psychographics covering 2 types it helps to have a range to appeal to.
The primary social status for my project is middle class and my secondary social status is working
class. I chose middle class as my primary because I feel they will be the most interested in my
products and will be the most entertained and excited by my products, I also think my secondary
social status working class will enjoy my products and will be able to relate to the band and be
interested in my products.

Legal & Ethical Considerations:
Think about any offensive material you will include?
I will not use any offensive material as my target audience is from young age so it needs to be
acceptable and suitable for younger people.
Will you restrict younger people using/accessing it?
No my target audience starts from 13 years old so it is suitable for younger people and young
people can access the products. Asa regulation 5 says you cannot promote dangerous behaviour
or pressure to children. With my product starting at a target age of 13, my products do not include
anything dangerous and does not restrict them from using my products.
Will it offend any social groups/religions/ethnicities?
Nothing about my product is offensive to anyone religion or social groups as I want it to be
appropriate for anyone so that everyone can enjoy my product. Asa regulation 4 shows you what
not to include to not offend anyone with any disturbing images or content, my products do not
include any offensive images or content that will disturb anyone.
How will you ensure you do not offend anyone?
Having a younger target audience helps to not offend anyone as it makes sure it is suitable for
younger ages and I haven’t used any offensive language or photos on my products to offend
anyone.
Are you using characters/names/logos of existing products/IPs?
My products do not use any existing names or logos as it is an original idea and it includes names
and logos that I have come up with and that are my own. All images used on my products are my
own and were taken by myself. Asa regulation 1 is used to make sure that you are not break the
law and to not include any indecent photos, I have made sure that I have not done this as the
photos are mine and they go with my products which are suitable for ages 13 and up.
Will you product be sufficiently different from existing products to not get sued for
copyright infringement?
I have used ideas from other existing products but I have changed them and made them original to
stop any copyright so all ideas included on my products have been changed and made into ideas
that will suit my project.
Asa regulation 6 is privacy, if a celebrity was included you would have to get written permission
first to use them in the products. This would stop your products from getting copyrighted. This is
not an issue in my products as I do not include a celebrity but if I was to make these in real life
then this would be a step I would need to include to stop copyright.
