Working Title:
What is it called? This can change if you think of something better later
SMASH, I have picked this as my working title as this is the name that I have chosen for my
brand identity, I have picked the word SMASH as I think it relatesto music and they smash
the charts that the audience listen to.
Product’s Purpose:
What is the product’s purpose (entertain/educate etc.) and how will you achieve this?
The purpose of my product is to entertain my audience whilst they are learning more about
their role models/favourite singer and the music industry. I will be able to achieve this by
looking in to what people like to expect when buying a music magazine, what different
things they would like added in also I will look at what other magazinesinclude.
Genre:
What sort of product is it
Music magazine
Content:
What is your product about? Discuss what you would put in it (be specific). Does it have a story? If
so, discuss it here
My product is about one specific singer I will be adding in an interview about their life in the
music industry, what goes on behind the scenes with recording the music video, the
singing, the planning, settings etc. This will then explain to the audience what it’s like to be
in the music industry it will give the fans of what a singer is really like. I will also be adding
in other singers/bands and bits about their life what they get up to. I will like to add in more
than one singer/band as it gives the audience different points of views from different
singers/bands from different parts of the world and gives them their feel on the singing
career.
On my front cover of my magazine I will like to add in lots of different conventions,
Masthead, sub heading, buzz words, plug, main image and maybe more as this is what you
expect on a magazine by adding in different things on the front cover it gives you
something to work on wand to expect inside. It gives you little clues what you might get in
the magazine e.g. stories, chances to win.
Audience:
Who is your audience? Be very detailed; age, gender, social status, psychographic etc
Why would your project appeal to this person?
My primary audience for my product is teenagers aged 15 -24, male social status A, B, C1
and psychographic Emulator. My product will appeal to this person because I will make
sure that the colour scheme, fonts, images etc will all be appropriate for this audience, to
help me I will do some more research in to more magazinesfor this target audience.
My secondary audience would be anyone older than 24 who loves the chart music and sill
finds magazinesabout music interesting, this magazine isopen to everyone who wishes to
read but my primary audience will be 15-24 year olds.
Legal & Ethical Considerations:
Think about any offensive material you will include? I may offend someone with the type of
images I use, language to prevent this from happening I will make sure I look in to what is
appropriate and won’t offend anyone including the target audience and people that may
just see it in the shop.
Will you restrict younger people using/accessing it? No I won’t necessarily stop younger
audience accessing the magazine, they will be nothing that can’t be seen e.g. swearing
violence. But parents and guardians may not want them looking at the magazine.
Will it offend any social groups/religions/ethnicities? It may offend the as other people take this
different and you can’t cater for everyone, but I will try my hardest not to offend any social
groups, religions and ethnicities by looking into how other magazineshave dealt with it.
How will you ensure you do not offend anyone?
Are you using characters/names/logos of existing products/IPs? I may be using a variety of
images, some from the internet but I am going to try my best to use all my own photos and
make my own logos, names etc.
Will you product be sufficiently different from existing products to not get sued for copyright
infringement? I will try make my magazine asoriginal as I can but all magazineshave near
enough the same layout mast head at the top, main image covering the background, buzz
words at the side etc.
