Product’s Purpose:
What is the product’s purpose (entertain/educate etc.) and how will you
achieve this?
My products purpose is to entertain and engage the audience of a new and
upcoming musician. The different types of production work include posters, photo-
shoots and merchandise. All these things will entertain and engage the audience
with said up and coming star as it will give them something that relates them to
the artist. It shows fans of people that want some new music from different people
that they can get that from this artist, and any other new artist.
Genre:
What sort of product is it
It is a music artist, so there are posters, tour posters, and different types of
merchandise.
Content
What is your product about? Discuss what you would put in it (be specific).
Does it have a story? If so, discuss it here
My FMP is about a music artist, my music artist is a pop music artist, much like
Demi Lovato, or Katy Perry, she is a standalone musician who is touring and
selling merchandise like any other musician. She tries to send a message of
empowerment to young people, and poses in certain ways when photos are being
taken to show younger girls that they can be themselves and still be successful.
The colours used to convey a pop singer are used in the different posters and the
merchandise. These colours are all pastel colours such as light blue, light pink
and white. The album covers are different as I wanted to show power rather than
pastel colours, it is only the album covers that do not have pastel colour included
on them, and for a reason as well. Conveying empowerment throughout the
younger population is something I wanted to be able to do with this project, with
the colours and messages behind the posters and different poses used
throughout the project.
Research & Planning
Where will you use elements of your research and planning to influence and
inform your final idea (be specific to certain parts)
I will use different elements of my research and planning such as the surveys that
I produced and received back from different people who would have potentially
have been my audience. I will make sure my products are simplistic, as my target
audience made it very clear that they prefer clean, fresh looking attire on products.
I will also include a range of different bright colours, as younger people tend to like
brighter colours according to my research. I will also make it all age appropriate to
make sure I don’t offend anyone, parent or child.

Audience:
Who is your audience? Be very detailed; age, gender, social status,
psychographic etc
Why would your project appeal to this person
My primary target audience is 14-19 year old females, but the secondary audience
would be more males of the same age, just as someone out of the primary
audience will always be interested in the said thing. I want to make my work look
like that of a popular music artist, as I want my work to look professional. This
would also fit the age demographic I have chosen. I do not think that a social
status applies to my audience as they are too young to be put into a certain box
as they will grow into different people than they are today. There is two different
psychographics that apply to the work I want to produce. These are belonger and
emulator. I think that they will mostly be belongers as at this age you are very
family orientated and you spend a lot of time with your family. You also base your
opinions and ‘likes’ on what you have seen as a child. I think that you could also
be an emulator at this age as you want to fit in and be ‘trendy’, and make sure you
are wearing popular clothes and listening to popular songs that ‘cool’ people will
listen to. At this age, the pecking order is very important to a child, and to get to
the ‘top’ you must be wearing the coolest clothes and listen to the best music. I
believe that my work would appeal to this type of person because I have been
influenced by artists that appeal to the same market. My research into this target
market has advised the products I will be making.
Legal & Ethical Considerations:
Think about any offensive material you will include?
Personally I do not think that any of my work will be offensive to anyone in the
western market, whom I have aimed my product more towards. However other
cultures may find different things offensive and may not approve of things I may
be wearing in posters etc. They may have different opinions and ideas in different
countries and areas in the world, I can never be sure that no one will be offended
with the things I produce.
Will you restrict younger people using/accessing it?
I will not restrict younger people from my products as my main target audience are
young teens. There is nothing offensive within my product therefore there is no
need to censor or ban it from a certain age of people. It is also unnecessary for
this to be banned or restricted as everything shown is legal and morally okay to
put out to the world.
Will it offend any social groups/religions/ethnicities?
It is unlikely that any social groups, religions or ethnicities will find this offensive,
but it is possible. This product is made for the western market so it is unclear what
may offend other ethnicities or religions, there might need to be more research
into this to make it clear and make sure that no one will be upset or offended by
anything I produce or publish for the public to see.

How will you ensure you do not offend anyone?
I will make sure I do not offend anyone by making sure there is no swearing, no
nudity, and making sure there is no inappropriate clothing being worn on posters
and other promotional things. I need to be considerate of the age group and what I
am exposing them to, also I just need to be considerate of other people and their
opinion and how they parent their own children.
Are you using characters/names/logos of existing products/IPs?
I am not, I am just using my name, ‘Chelsea’.
Will you product be sufficiently different from existing products to not get
sued for copyright infringement?
Although my products are influenced by popular culture, there is no specific
element of it I have used. I do not believe my product infringes any copyright laws.
