This proposal is for an audio adaptation of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams. It will be an adventure/science fiction radio drama telling the story of Arthur Dent escaping Earth's destruction. The target audience is teenagers aged 16-18 who enjoy science fiction. There are no expected legal or ethical issues as the abstract, comedic sci-fi story avoids topics that could offend and closely adapts existing characters, names, and storylines from the original book and franchise.
Measures of Dispersion and Variability: Range, QD, AD and SD

Content
What is your product about? Discuss what you would put in it (be specific). Does it have a story? If
so, discuss it here
My product is an adaptation of the book Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy.
Starting off with Arthur Dent protecting his house from being knocked down to the
destruction of Earth... Along the way meeting a range of rich characters.
Audience:
Who is your audience? Be very detailed; age, gender, social status, psychographic etc
Why would your project appeal to this person?
My audience will consist of mainly roughly teenagers (16-18) with fan of the Science-Fiction
genre and the edition of Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy fans.
Legal & Ethical Considerations:
Think about any offensive material you will include? No
Will you restrict younger people using/accessing it? No
Will it offend any social groups/religions/ethnicities? No, as this in an abstract Sci-Fi, it's less likely
to be taken as serious whilst staying away from making comments on religion, ethnicities or social
groups.
How will you ensure you do not offend anyone? To ensure this I'll again be staying away from
touching on any of these groups.
Are you using characters/names/logos of existing products/IPs? Yes, as it's based of an existing
franchise of book, adapted into books meaning it will closely use characters, names and the story
line, I will however be considering a new logo to fit wit h the times...- although this will not be
affecting the audio as it's a visual.
Will you product be sufficiently different from existing products to not get sued for copyright
infringement? Though this product already existing in different mediums, I want to take this in a
different direction and applying depth where I believe it's been lacking...
