LENGTH OF THE LESSON: 40 MINUTES.
CLASS DESCRIPTION: There are twenty-three students in each course (4th
D and
4th
C), all between nine and ten years old. They have English classes once a week,
each class lasts forty minutes. This group of students work actively and they and her
teacher avoid speaking in L1. Their proficiency level is Pre-A1.
SKILLS TO BE EMPHASIZED: Listening and speaking.
LANGUAGE:
- Vocabulary about healthy and unhealthy food as well as eating groups.
- Vocabulary from the story.
2. AIMS:
By the end of this class, students will be able to retell the story “The very hungry
caterpillar”. Also, they will use old and new vocabulary from the story.
VALUES: Children will be aware of the importance of eating healthy food each day.
Also, they will be aware of avoiding eating too much unhealthy food such as fats,
sweets, etc.
MATERIALS:

● A computer
● The book: “The very hungry caterpillar”
● Board
● Marker
● Masks
EVALUATION: We expect that students comprehend the story that we will read and
will be able to retell it. They also will learn new vocabulary from the story and will
describe their students’ masks.

We will ask students what
they remember from the
previous classes.
Then, to close the unit “I’m
hungry”, we will read the
story “The very hungry
caterpillar” using the book
and also the projector, to
show images of the story
so that children understand
better the story.
